Every time an unnecessary straight romance comes about throughout an adventure/action show/movie, I lose ten years of my life. As of right now, I’m at -3872199474726 years.

obsessed w/ how many attempts they've made at redesigning gene's younger design over the years to make him look less uncanny and how they failed every single time. he's so fucking ugly. I don't even take any of these designs as canon Bcuz they keep doing my boy DIRTY. soo ugly

on the point of including black people in the show (or any period show), a lot of the outrage can sometimes come across as performative to me. it's one thing to feel upset about how little screentime black characters get compared to white characters (a valid criticism, believe me, I Know! give me an hour and i could talk your ear off about how this constantly annoys me as a black person who's damned to enjoy period pieces), but it's another to Only get upset while not actually creating content for said black characters, Especially when fandom (not just hbo war, but in general) is famous for taking Extremely minor characters and creating entire worlds with them, to the point where you wouldn't know they're minor characters at all until you check out the source yourself. richard macon, alexander jefferson, and robert daniels each have only 20 or less posts about them (at the time of publishing this post). in my own fandom experience (within fandoms both big and small and old and new, whatever), i've seen more content (posts, art pieces, analyses, fics, etc) made for minor white characters in less than a mere week's time (it's not a competiton lol i'm just giving a perspective here). so idk. obviously, there's nothing anyone here can do about a show that's already been filmed and released. we got what we got. thas it. at least in the great wide world of fandom, you can actually do something about it, turning the big into small. there's precedent for that. otherwise it just feels like complaining for the sake of complaining

I think it’s so funny when I’m arguing with someone about the changes with pjo and they say “It would’ve been better if not for Disney!”
Like yes. It would have been. I do not like Disney. I am not even watching it on Disney +. The show could’ve had more episodes and longer episodes if not for Disney’s weird way of limiting TV show seasons, but that’s also the same for every single streaming service at the moment. Do not blame the writers for the problem the studio execs made. Maybe instead of hating on the show for weird reasons, we band together to show Disney how serious we are about a season two and convince them to allow the writers to have more room to tell the story? Change can only happen if you want it to.

"Lucifer became a fallen angel because he wanted free will for the humans. But heaven banished him to hell. Long story short, Heaven is full of assholes."
"...So I'm gonna open a hotel that redeems sinner demons to get them to heaven. And I'm gonna go propose this idea to heaven."
"Oh shit heaven is full of assholes that don't give a damn about sinners."
"...Anyway, I'm gonna work together with my staff and redeem sinners and get them to heaven."

So Migi calls him 'my special apprentice' (in manga) when he helps him find the 'girl' he's in love with and then later on when he gets 'betrayed' by that said 'girl', comes over to his house and Akiyama lets him stay without a question and is more concerned than anything if his friend (👀) is being abused at home and then later on indirectly helps him finally step out of his brother's shadow and inspires him to be free and winning a halloween competition both wearing silly bird costumes followed by him finally having enough courage to step out into the light as 'Migi' and taking of his 'costume' and they both proceed to be happy little idiots. How can they not be boyfriends.

I feel like ur kind of… projecting. Sally’s love for Percy is obvious, Percy’s love for Sally is obvious, I think the best park into the relationship was in ep 1 when the school calls and Sally says ‘I’ll always believe my son.’ One scene of her being short with her kid in the car during a moment of intense inner turmoil doesn’t ruin the relationship ?
as i said in the post, it wasn't just one scene. if it was just one scene, i wouldn't mind, and i SAID i didn't mind when it was just the one pool scene. but now there have been MULTIPLE scenes. the pool scene. the car scene. the restaurant scene. that's "only" three, but consider: we've had half an episode with sally being nice to percy, and all the subsequent flashbacks were her being mad at percy. yes, that does actually put a sour light on their relationship. idk what to tell you, man.
i think: yes, she should be allowed to be angry and frustrated at the situation. i think it's good if the show wants to show her side of the struggle, something that was only hinted at in the books. that's not what i'm annoyed at. i'm annoyed that the show decided to have her direct her frustration AT percy, when there were so many ways to just Not do that.
you can make arguments about how it's actually realistic and fitting, but that's a very watsonian defense. sally jackson isn't a real person acting out in a real scenario. she is a fictional character being written by screenwriters who decided that instead of finding creative ways to show how sally tries her very best to be kind and explain the situation to baby percy despite how frustrated she is, thus showing her strength as a character and a mother, they take the easy way out and just have her be mad at percy.
could they solve this if in the final episode, they showed a flashback where sally apologizes to percy after the restaurant scene, and from then on that's what percy considers to be their good relationship? yeah, probably. that doesn't really change the fact i find this change to be incredibly unnecessary and the execution to be very convoluted and lazy though.

“You have done the highest honor of the Creed: Saving a foundling.”
I take umbrage with this statement in the larger context of the show this season because Mando still has yet to have what I think is a pretty significant conversation with the Armorer concerning why he removed his helmet in the first place since that ⬆️ was precisely why he did it
This season has largely brushed past one of Din’s biggest internal conflicts by never showing the audience how he feels as an exiled member beyond him asking how he can atone, not discussing with the Armorer why the transgression was done or in what context— which they apparently didn’t have to address because hey, look, the kid’s back with him again, oh also we’re not going to talk about that despite the Armorer telling him to take the kid back to his own kind in season 1— making it barely an inconvenience to ‘redeem’ himself in the end anyway, and by overshadowing his ritual redemption by knocking him out when he goes into the waters and having him sink to the bottom, having to be saved by Bo-Katan (when we still don’t know why she saved him at all), AND by having his return to the covert and Armorer be overshadowed by Bo-Katan’s out of place induction into the covert.
If they want to credit Bo-Katan with ‘saving’ the Mando kid because she headed up the hunting party even though Din was the one to actually grab the kid in the end, fine, whatever, but it is also the most overt way to again show that everything of value that Din has done this season has still been pushed to the side in favor of showcasing Bo-Katan
Unless they’re leading up to Din having some ego issue regarding Bo-Katan’s popularity and place within the covert because of how much he’s being shoved aside (which is entirely out of character for him), I’m not sure why they aren’t making him and his character more of the focus of the season. We’re not getting anything from him regarding his feelings or direction in terms of the bigger picture, which is why all of the episodes feel like filler— They’re achieving plot points like a checklist instead of showing us how Din feels about anything by not tying the emotional stakes to the physical ones. There’s no tension or narrative weight to any of these actions. His dialogue regarding the Creed, his redemption, and teaching and bonding with the kid (his character’s two main focuses) has been factual and exposition-y without feeling like his story is being told.
