You saw how he politely declined her touch, and how she kept talking and grabbing his bicep. He looked for you through the drunk crowd and when his eyes found yours he seemed to plead for help. Lando wasn’t frankly fond of being rude, he could be here and there, but it was not something usual or that left him pleased afterward. In this case, you knew he was trying to keep his cool because maybe –just maybe– that was an overly excited fan unaware they were crossing a line. This was not an unusual scenario.
You smirked, making your way to him when he was finally able to show her no attempts would work. When you passed by her on your way to Lando’s table, you politely complimented her before reaching the table and sitting on Lando’s lap. It was dark, and he was in a private corner, but since she followed you with her eyes, she could see the moment you sat on him and turned to kiss his lips, making a show out of it, turning your boyfriend on.

“You’re so dirty,” he whispered, and you could almost feel his wicked grin on your hot skin.
“You’re flexing your thighs for me to ride, and you’re whimpering on my ear while I give you a hand job, I think you can be dirtier, love.”
And, oh, how Lando loved this defiant and sinful side of yours.
Lando reached for your shirt, moving his hand under it and expertly dragging down the cups of your bra to play with your pebbled nipples. He pinched, and twisted them between his thumb and pointer, whispering how he could feel your arousal through the layers of your clothes.
“I had no idea public sex turned you on.”

12. How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year?
You may not believe this, but I only have 2 WIPs for next year as of this moment. I have "Power of Two" (Photo Op 4) and "Model of the Solar System." I have been trying really, really hard not to start more than I can handle. Do I have ideas? Plenty. But I only have two current WIPs to start off 2024.
15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you?
Just the two, which is so rare for me. But I guess TCV is one big ongoing WIP as well. So maybe that makes it three?
18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?
Jared from "Rest and Restore." It was super difficult to write him because he had to be going through the grief of his divorce, but without coming off as annoyingly whiny. There's this fine line between "I'm letting off steam and going through something" and "I'm just wallowing/whining." He had to be fresh from his divorce but removed from it, too. It was a thing I worked really hard to balance.
20. Which work of yours have you reread the most?
This year it's been all about "Minutes Past Midnight." It's such a comforting place to be. I really want to live in Jared's yurt for a week and just experience what it must be like to live in the great wide wilderness. Of course, it wouldn't hurt if I had a Jensen there, too.

I will say that I constantly have ideas in my head that might become WIPs. Like Back Pocket 3. Minutes Past Midnight 2. A continuation of Rest and Restore.
A new idea about J2 being pretending to be bachelors in the late 1800s, but they're really a couple and it's their first winter out on the prairie. I'm basing that idea off of Laura Ingalls Wilder's writing. I just love her stuff, I used to read her a lot what I was a kid.
Another idea for the Palo Alto verse where Dean, while at work in the library as a security guard, encounters a pretty nasty spirit. He has to call in back up--Sam. She shows up and kicks ass, despite not hunting in a while.
I'm also thinking about Punzel and what I need to do to move forward in that verse. I would love to start a proper sequel to it, not just a timestamp. And I think we are there? Or maybe almost? But I need to finish other projects first.
And of course, there's Photo Op 4, which I'll carry with me into 2024. We need these boys married!
Model of the Solar System is also perpetually on my mind. I'm still worldbuilding after all these years. I just still need to figure out the end, which is easier said than done.
I also have a J2 time travel fic that's at some 30,000 words on Patreon. But I got stuck while writing it and the pandemic happened, then I got caught up in Minutes Past Midnight. I just had to table it. I will finish it one day. I think it's a good fic. I really like Jared in that fic, even though it's from Jensen's POV. And I liked writing in the first person, plus the use of photography in that fic.
So that's a preview of what I roll around in my head on a daily basis, anon! I hope you enjoyed the peek. :)

I looked up your friends instagram and he posted on his story that he wasn’t going to post his photo op till he got the digital copy, why were you able to post his photo before he did?
Since Charlie is a content creator he has a Patreon. Which funds from that help go towards his cosplays as he does more than Dean cosplay. When you sign up to his Patreon he gives access to his Discord. He posted the photo op prints on Patreon & Discord. I’m a moderator for his Discord & TikTok lives btw. Of course I asked him if he was okay if I posted it here for the spn family here and he was okay with it. I’m hoping more people will follow him cause he really is a sweetheart. Plus he has a cute doggy named Simba! So I always share his content wherever I can. I usually do it on my Instagram. But this time I decided to do it here. I hope you guys enjoyed them! I think he posted on his IG he posted previews on Patreon. He should be sending to get the jpegs soon so it will be on his Instagram soon.

Opened a Print Shop!!!
Exciting news! After many years of saying I want to open an online shop and never doing it, I finally did it! My first online shop ever!
My shop is on INPRNT, which offers high quality art prints, canvases, acrylics, and cards. It's print on demand, which means all I need to do is upload art, and they do the rest!
I've always felt guilty that I haven't been able to offer prints or merch to followers who don't get the chance to see me on the rare con I attend. Especially given that I had to drop my only con this year, Anime NYC, I really wanted to do something. But I'm also in no position to manage my own store at the moment. I hope this is an ok compromise!
Regarding my art:
I tried to put up a decent assortment of art from all of my past fandoms (YOI onwards; no BH6 bc that's a bit too old for me ^ ^;). Most of the things I've had available as large prints at cons, or that I've offered as part of a Patreon promotion in the past, I've tried to include. I tried my best to pick things that I think will interest people the most!
It'll likely be easiest to find what you're looking for by looking at the Collections tab, which is what I have linked at the bottom of this post. I've sorted collections by fandom, and currently offer the following:
[BF] = Banana Fish
[OP] = One Piece
[Others] = All other fandoms that were never my main fandoms
[SW] = Star Wars
[YOI] = Yuri on Ice!!!
Each art is also labeled with the year I drew it. Part of this is for your reference, but part of it, let's be honest, is me going I know it doesn't look as polished/looks considerably worse than what I draw now! Please be kind, I drew it 5 years ago and it's the best I could do at the time! I still included these older works to give folks the option.
Please also note that this definitely isn't a comprehensive list of every art I've ever drawn. I think 86 different illustrations is a fair number to start out with though!

Let’s Watch HeartCatch Pretty Cure, Episode 2
So before I begin the second post for this whole Let’s Watch thing, I must do two things. One is to make a major correction, as I was under the impression that *HeartCatch* came out before the Precure franchise’s partnership with McDonald’s happened, but clearly, that was wrong.

Episode II - “I’m the weakest Precure in history??”
But enough of that, on with the liveblog! So at the end of the first episode, Tsubomi, now transformed into Cure Blossom, stands ready to rescue Erika from her imprisonment inside a doll-monster by the Desert Apostles. So far, so anime.
The first little bit of the episode consists of Cure Blossom getting hype man’d by the twin fairies.
Which does not exactly last. Remember how in the last post I said that there’s no one cooler than a magical girl who’s just transformed for the first time? Well, this show does not appear to agree. The opening scene here is actually quite comedic. Cure Blossom’s first instinct is not to try to fight the Desertrian Doll, it’s this.
And she promptly tries to hightail it out of there. So in short order, this happens.
And then she tries to run away, only to run smack dab into a tree because she was running so quickly that she couldn’t stop herself. By the time the Desertrian Doll’s picked her up and started crushing her, things are looking rather dire. It’s clear that Blossom, for all the hyping up that was just done, is a far cry from the impeccably cool head of Cure Moonlight.
Thankfully, the day is saved! By um…
Lelouch Lamperouge?
Am I losing my mind here? It’s not just me right?
Well in any case, because this ultimately is a show for young girls, no time is wasted in establishing that he is, as folks used to say when I was young, Totally Hawt. Even the villain gets in on it.
Before Blossom can come to further harm, the mysterious glasses’d lad whisks her away with some kind of heart-shaped device that conjures up a tornado of pink petals. I have to admit, I’m a little sour on the deprivation of the protagonist’s agency so early on, but I’m hoping it’s used to build up some growth we’re about to see, as opposed to a sort of knight in shining armor situation being the norm. They’re called magical *girl* shows, after all.
That aside, a scene transition later and Tsubomi wakes up at her grandmother’s greenhouse, where we learn a couple of pretty interesting things in quick succession. We get a name for the Desert Apostle woman (Sasorina), but the main one is this.
Yeah that’s a fair reaction.
So this is interesting to me for a few reasons. For one, I was under the impression that *most* Precures had secret identities. Certainly, it’s true of the cast of the currently-airing *Star Twinkle Precure*. My understanding is that this “magical destiny” stuff is quite unusual for the franchise. Based on that, the art style, and a couple other things, the vibe I’m getting here is one of a conscious retro entry in the series. Certainly there’s a place for such things, but it’s admittedly not a direction I was quite expecting.
We also get introduced to….this
What role this misshapen Moomin will play in the story remains to be seen, I suppose.
We also get some exposition into this whole Tree of Hearts business. What Tsubomi’s grandmother explains is that every person has inside their soul a “flower of the heart”. Each is unique, and if they’re damaged, it weakens the Tree as well, which is presumably Not A Great Thing.
This kind of plot device is common to the genre, and I expect it’d be easy for the target audience to grasp. It also makes a great simple metaphor; stress is something all young people deal with, and it really can feel like the world is falling apart sometimes when you’re that young and faced with problems.
Understanding the gravity of the situation, Tsubomi briefly panics about what’s happened to Erica. Tsubomi’s grandmother correctly guesses from looking at the fairies’ crystal ball (it’s not entirely clear to me if the ball actually contains the unharmed portion of Erika’s soul or is just a way of looking at her condition. I suspect it doesn’t much matter) that she’s had her heart flower pulled out. Before the characters have a chance to decide what to do on their own, Sasorina and the Desertrian Doll make a loud crash outside the greenhouse, making their presence known.
This cuts to a title card, where I want to point out a comment that I believe was made by one of the fansubbers (since no dialogue is spoken during this transition card, and it would be pretty out of character for the show).
I must disagree, I think Cure Grandma would be adorable.
We get an explanation as to what will happen if Erika remains enslaved inside the doll for much longer, and it’s not pretty.
And there you have it. Some pretty classic fairytale stuff, really. There’s some brief faffing about where Tsubomi thinks she’s lost her transformation trinket (the Heartcatch Perfume), but it dosn’t take much longer than that for the episode to properly kick into high gear. Filled with renewed determination, Tsubomi transforms to properly take on the Desertrian Doll as Cure Blossom!
Honestly, this stuff is just awesome. The fight scene that follows is short but intensely physical, featuring rather little of the canned-footage magical attacks that one would expect from this sort of thing (I suspect we’ll see more of that in later episodes). In fact, it reminded me a lot of what I’ve seen of the original Pretty Cure, a series that was, to be sure, well-known for an unusually high amount of bone-cracking physical action sequences in a genre not really known for them. It would fit with the retro stylings, if I’m correct about that whole bit.
Blossom even briefly fights Sasorina herself, who we learn can extend her apparently-prehensile ponytail, and even turn its tip into a scorpion stinger(?!).
The fight scene is briefly interrupted for a short spiel on how determination and love for one’s friends makes a Precure stronger. Hilariously, that gets cut off with this comment from one of the fairies.
Which then segues into a nicely toyetic sequence where Blossom uses a magical doodad to retrieve the heart flower from within the Desertrian Doll. Honestly, by just using the word “toyetic” I’m obviously being a bit snarky, but this thing is pretty neat. The way it’s used here seems to indicate that it the bit on the base could be spun to make it light up and sparkle. Something that parents absolutely loved, I’m sure.
Blossom defeats the baddie, and in doing so, briefly turns the series into End of Evangelion.

Blossom saves Erika, and the two reconcile. The episode ending more or less on that note. There’s a bit more exposition too, namely Tsubomi’s good deed seems to have produced something called a heart seed (which one of the fairies essentially….passes, in what I think is some kind of attempt at toilet humor. I do hope that that isn’t a recurring thing) and a heart pot to put it in. Tsubomi is thus given a quest more or less, to get as many heart seeds as possible, and hopefully revive the Heart Tree in doing so.
She also joins Erika’s fashion club, though keeping the whole ‘Precure’ thing a secret for now. Somehow, the two have quite a lengthy conversation while not realizing that the deeply unsettling large fairy is right next to them.
This very subtle hint is also dropped not long after she leaves.
The final scene of the episode is Tsubomi and her grandmother having a heartfelt conversation as they walk back home at sunset. Most tellingly, Tsubomi says that she thinks she’s started to change. Something that I think we can safely call a running theme of this particular entry into the franchise.
That’s another one-episode post. The preview for the next makes me think we may well be in for another, but time will tell. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it!

Thank you for reading Octopus Pie.
This comic began in spring of 2007. It was two short months after the death of my father. I was shocked and lonesome, and wished to fully dedicate myself to something. If that's all it had given me, it would've been enough. The ways in which this comic has opened up my life to new people, places, skills and ideas are endless. No form of expression could've changed my world so much. I can never fully express how grateful I am.
Thank you to Valerie Halla for bringing her incredible vision to this series. I knew her talents would be on display. I couldn't have anticipated how much of a voice she'd lend to the story, or how far her work would push me in my own pursuit of the craft. I think we did something very special together, in a place and time that won't soon be replicated. If you haven't yet, go follow Valerie's webcomic, Goodbye to Halos. I know she'll be making incredible work for years to come.

Borderlands Legendary Collection coming soon to the Nintendo Switch
Claptrap — start bootup sequence… Borderlands Legendary Collection is now coming to the Nintendo Switch.
It’s official 2K Games – a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive – loves the Nintendo Switch! They’ve released several games for the platform, and now they’re bringing their biggest hitter – the Borderlands series. In the past, we’ve received their annual releases of NBA and Civilization VI but it seems they’re wanting to expand their catalogue of games available on the beloved hybrid system. Alongside 2k’s announcement that the Borderlands Legendary Collection is coming to the Nintendo Switch, they also revealed that the XCOM 2 Collection and Bioshock Collection are Nintendo Switch inbound.
The Borderlands Legendary Collection includes Borderlands 1, 2, and the Pre-sequel. Borderlands 2 is my personal favorite! If you haven’t played any of these games, now is the perfect time to pick them up, and if you have and you’re like me, it might even be worth purchasing them again. The ability to play this series on the go is going to do this collection wonders! Unfortunately, if you were hoping it’d include the recently released Borderlands 3, it doesn’t. That being said, the prior games are all of the greatest quality and are what defined the looter shooter genre.
