De Vil family aesthetics part 2;
Part 2 to the de vil family aesthetics. Part 1 is here.
🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩
Tumblr media
Dupree De Vil (Husband of Mallory "Malevola" De Vil and father of Cruella, Divus, Cyrus, Cotton, and Cecil De Vil. Uncle of P.H. De Vil. A fashion business man who fell in love with the wrong woman and did his best to be a good father, even if he was a tad neglectful. He was more involved in the kids' lives than his wife was. He suffered from depression in his later life and slowly began to resent his wife but never divorced her-- which is why he's known while other spouses that married/had kids with the de vils aren't known. His kids were his pride and joy and on his death bed he admitted he regretted not leaving his wife. Causing Mallory to hate their kids even more) aesthetic.
Tumblr media
Philip Herbert "P.H" De Vil (Mad scientist cousin of Cruella, Cecil, Cyrus, Cotton, and Divus. He's a food connoisseur who owns an ice cream factory and a Mad scientist/investor who experiments on animals. He's a bit nutty and one of Cruella's closest friends, though he's saner than her. He has never met his mother and hasn't had any kids. That's all there is to say, especially since he hasn't had any pets since he was a kid-- other than Pinky that is. He's older than Cruella by 6 years) aesthetic.
Tumblr media
Divus "Devious" De Vil (He is Cruella de vil's twin brother and the only living de vil to not be sent to the isle. He has the family fashion sense but is alot more sane and has more empathy than everyone other than perhaps Cecil. He's also the only one who hasn't gotten in serious trouble with the law. He is a science and potions teacher and a bit of an alcoholic. He and Carlos would get along swimmingly. He has no pets that I know of and is single because he doesn't believe his generation of the family can have a happy ending. He's also just as obsessed with cars as his siblings are) aesthetic.
Tumblr media
Cyrus De Vil (Father of Charles De Vil and Grandfather of Hunter de vil. Sibling of Cruella, Cotton, Cecil, and Divus De Vil. He has no pets. He's a botanist, gardener, and farmer who ran away from home not long after Charles was born. His girlfriend died in childbirth) aesthetic.
Tumblr media
Melione Olympian (Daughter of Hades. Goddess of necromancy, ghosts, Nightmares, and funeral rites. Also known as the first de vil. Gave up her God Hood for a human and had children, and lived a long life with them all. She's the reason their last name is De Vil and one of their oldest ancestors) aesthetic.
Tumblr media
Cotton "Firebug" De Vil (Youngest child of Mallory "Malevola" De Vil and Dupree De Vil, brother of Cruella, Divus, and Cyrus De Vil, and single father of Ivana "Ivy" De Vil. He's a pyro noir-like detective who died when Ivy was 3 in a freak accident involving fire. Ivy's mother was woman named 'Carmen Sandiego' who her father had an... interesting relationship... with as a detective. Carmen has no idea where her daughter is after Cotten dies) aesthetic.
Tumblr media
Charles/Charlie "Archer" De Vil (Son of Cyrus De Vil, cousin of Carlos and Ivy De Vil, and father of Hunter De Vil. He is an artist who dabbles in many art forms and an archer. He was an archery teacher before he died and he, unlike his dad, wasn't a teen father. Hunter's mother was Charles' ex, Helga Sinclair, who would later go onto bare Harry Badun. That's right, Harry/Harold Badun, and Hunter De Vil are half-siblings. Deal with it. I like it, this is my fanfic verse, and that's just how it is. He had a pet lobster that he named Goose) aesthetic.

You know, it would be more practical to make P.H., Cruella, and Cecil B. De Vil siblings, because then P.H. could be Ivy’s father, and that would make it way easier for me

Cruella: For somebody who is supposedly a mad genius I'm not seeing much of the genius.
P.H.: Keep it up and you'll see plenty of the mad.

P.H. De Vil from 101 Dalmatians: The Series (1997)
Tumblr media
So apparently, Cruella De Vil has relatives, and one of them is this guy. A self billed “evil genius” and “mad scientist,” P.H. is one of those villains who’s clearly just evil for the sheer fun of it. Honestly? I can respect that.

de Vil family Headcanons revised:
Tumblr media
Trigger warnings: Child abuse, child neglect, mentions of dementia, mental health issues, unhealthy coping mechanisms, death, and animal abuse.
🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩
There is an 11 year age difference between Hunter and Carlos, a 5 year one between Carlos and Ivy, and a 4 year one between him and Diego.
Hunter, Ivy, and Carlos are tech geeks in my universe and can't do anything musical to save their lives.
Diego, on the other hand, is the only musically inclined one who cannot do anything tech related to save his life.
Hunter and Ivy were born pre-isle but died trying to stop one of Cruella's plots when she found out and pursued them. Causing them to crash.
Because of their childhood Villainous activities they were resurrected and sent to the isle the year Carlos was born.
Both Antia and Roger have met Hunter and Ivy but only Ivy has met their niece, Amber.
Funnily enough, all of the de Vil cousins have four things in common—their love for animals, their tempers, their competitive nature, and their very strong passion for fashion.
They have a lot of pets that they have to play 'Keep away from Cruella' with.
Including a chicken on Hunter and Ivy's part, which is funny because their ancestor— Dimsdale—despises chickens.
They are descended from both Melione (Hades' daughter) and the Villainous princess Ivy from Sofia the first.
Hunter's full name is Hunter Claudias de Vil.
Ivy's full name is Ivana Mallory de Vil.
Diego's full name is Diego Ethan de Vil.
Carlos's full name is Carlos Oscar de Vil.
Carlos is the son of Cruella de Vil and James Charming.
Diego is the son of Cecil de Vil and an unknown woman.
Ivy is the daughter of Carmen Sandiego and Cotton de Vil.
Hunter is the son  of Helga Sinclair and Charles de Vil, making him the older half brother of Harry Badun.
Carlos's dad either got taken forcibly back to Auradon or was killed by Cruella. No one is quite sure which.
Diego's mother left him on the doorstep.
Ivy's father was a pyro noir like detective and the youngest of his many siblings, which made her a favorite of the family. Her father died in a freak fire related accident when she was 3. Carmen had no idea where she went after Ivy's father died.
Hunter's father was an artist turned Archery teacher who went by 'Archer' and died in a freak archery accident.
Hunter de Vil is dating a grown up Jim Jr (from Lady and the Tramp) and Jane's cousin, Elisa/Eliza.
Diego is dating Derek, Doug's older brother.
Carlos is dating Jane.
And Ivy is dating Gordon, son of Grumpy— and yes, they are aware of the irony.
Together (meaning them, their partners, their cousin P.H, and Cruella) they have 18 pets. Including 2 chickens, 1 ferret, 1 dove, 1 lab rat, 4 cats,  and 10 dogs (most of which are Cruella's).
Hunter is still an influencer (he was one when he was a teenager) and is also an inventor who works at the local tech repair shop and a part time mechanic.
All of the de Vil kids love chocolates but different kids.
Hunter practically lives off of coffee and energy drinks and kinder joy eggs.
Hunter is also a YouTuber.
Ivy loves oatmeal with strawberries and blackberries.
She is an inventor, a fashion designer, a salon owner who makes her own cosmetics, and a beauty pageant veteran who always saw Amber dearly (The Radcliffe's niece)  as a rival. This was one-sided.
She takes after her mother alot— she's elusive, playful, badass, etc.
Kids used to call her Evilana. Which she hated.
Diego is the lead singer and guitarist of the Bad Apples and a member of Harriet Hook's crew and the Anti-heroes' club.
He is also a tattoo artist who loves coke (the soda) and fast food.
Carlos is a tourney and ROAR member who loves video games, tech stuff, animals, and inventing. He wants to be a veterinarian or app designer.
Hunter, Ivy, and Diego helped Carlos build his treehouse when they were younger.
They all love each other very much and are very protective of one another.
Unlike Carlos, the other de Vils are actually quite fond of the Badun cousins.
Ivy loves the color pink.
Their ancestor that everyone thinks is the literal devil was actually a somewhat normal human boy who was just unfortunate enough to have been born with hooves and a tail (likely due to them also being descended from Hades’ daughter Melione and sorceress like the original Ivana de Vil—aka Princess Ivy).
For some reason, Diego is Cruella's favorite. No one knows why or how.
This is entirely one-sided; Diego despises Cruella.
Yes, Hunter and Ivy were born pre-isle.
Yes, they committed their crimes.
BUT, they were also 12 and 6, and highly abused and neglected.
And they redeemed themselves and got killed in the process in my timeline saving the puppies from one of Cruella's schemes gone wrong.
But of course, Auardon brought them back a year after Carlos was born and sent them to the isle despite the Radcliffes' protest.
Hunter was 12 and Ivy was 6, and they both cried and pleaded for mercy. Beast and Belle ignored them.
They hate them because of this.
Like their parents before them, they're close.
Unlike their parents, they didn't have a falling out and would still die for one another.
Diego is the only non-tech savvy de Vil of this generation.
But that's fine with him because he's the only one who can play any instrument.
The other 3 can't play an instrument to save their lives.
Despite the fact that Diego is a part of Harriet's crew and that Harriet is in alliance with Uma, he and Carlos are still close.
Diego is the only non disabled, sickly, or mentally ill de Vil.
All of the de Vils are into fashion.
The de Vil cousins move out of Cruella's house after Carlos goes to Auradon. They had only stayed for Carlos.
The de Vil cousins have an unspoken agreement to always look out for each other, their pets, and the badun cousins.
The de Vil cousins communicate in Morse code sometimes. Other times they communicate in sign language.
They made up their own language to communicate in as kids. The Badun cousins  are the only ones who understand it.
All of the de Vil kids have pets and take care of Cruella's pets.
They all feel guilty about the fact that they couldn't protect each other or their pets. Or the Badun cousins.
Jace and Harry used to have siblings. The rest of the isle might have forgotten this but they hadn't. They never would.
None of the four de Vil cousins will ever turn down helping the Badun cousins. No matter what.
No one talks about the missing Badun girls and boys.
No one talks about how the Badun cousins don't live with them, Cruella, and their dads anymore.
After Harry Badun turned 7, learning medical care became a priority for all of the de Vil kids. Maybe it's guilt or maybe it's a sense of obligation. No one knows.
Diego is the only one of the group who sleeps.
He's known as the only 'normal' de Vil. He's the only one who doesn't have a nasty nickname.
He's the one who keeps everyone alive which makes up for his bouts of irresponsible stupidity.
Diego is also the only de Vil sibling who can write in cursive.
Hunter is the only blonde de Vil that the cousins can remember.
This earns a lot of jokes about him being adopted.
He is never amused by them.
Ivy looks the most like Cruella. Her hair is half and half like hers, and she hates it. Hair dye doesn't work.
She's tried. Her cousins had to beg her to stop because she would break out in horrible hives when she used it and they were afraid she'd die.
Carlos is allergic to Wool.
Hunter and Diego have no allergies.
Hunter is claustrophobic and afraid of the dark  and being alone and forgotten because of his time in the crate. His younger cousins know very few details about it.
Diego's hair is the opposite of Carlos's—his hair is mostly black with a few white streaks and specks, while Carlos's hair is mostly white with dark specks
Ivy is afraid of burning alive like her dad but also addicted to the flames.
Her and Hunter are scared of dying again.
Diego, Carlos, and The Badun cousins had to sleep in their beds a lot when they were younger to calm them because of the nightmares they had.
They still do.
The 3 oldest de Vil cousins were in pure shock and mourning for days after Carlos left for Auardon. They thought they'd never see him again.
Carlos, Hunter, and Ivy go to all of Diego's concerts and like all of his videos  and buy all his albums.
He does the same for them.
They're all scared of going nuts like their elders.
They were all scared of their other relatives when they got off the isle.
Hunter never forgives Ben's parents. Never.
He and Ivy both try to pretend that they don't want to kill them both.
Everyone but Diego has had depression. Diego has just always been optimistic (and a bit angry).
Ivy is named after their ancestor, Princess Ivy.
She resents this.
Divus de Vil, or Divus Crewel—as he is now known—is a professor at Night Raven College.
He teaches the school's science curriculum, including potionology.
He, like the rest of his family, feels strongly about fashion and refuses to compromise on what he wears.
He is Cruella and Crisitan de Vil's twin brother who somehow managed to stay out of any serious legal trouble. Unlike them.
When he was younger, Divus was nicknamed 'devious'  by his fellow peers. Right around the time they started to call his sister 'Cruella' instead of Ella.
He was the favorite of his mother—meaning he was the only one who ever got attention from her.
He has no pets.
He, Cristian,  and Cruella taught their 3 younger brothers (Cyrus, Cotton, and Cecil) how to work on cars when they were all kids.
Back before Cruella and P.H became cruel, all 7 of them were rather close-knit despite their age differences.
Divus's mother named him.  His name means "divine"/"godlike" or "god". It can aldo be considered a variant of "diva", referring to a narcissistic and self-important person.
Cyrus was a teen dad at 14.
Malevola and Cruella didn't hesitate at all to yell at and belittle him for this.
He ran away a couple of years later with his son, Charles, and became a farmer.
Cyrus was a natural blonde but dyed his hair black and white in an attempt to fit in with his family.
Charles inherited it as well. They both inherited this from Oscar "Count" de Vil.
22 years later, Charles met a woman named Helga Sinclair and Hunter de Vil was born.
Oscar and Dintia de Vil are the parents of Malevola de Vil and her brother, Malice.
Of course, those aren't their real names. Only the names those who didn't understand their odd family gave them.
Oscar and Dinita would never name them those names. They were actual loving parents, thank you very much (Unlike Malevola).
Malevola and Malice are actually named Mallory and Malachai.
Malachai's unflattering nickname doesn't really fit him at all.
He may be the mastermind but Malachai isn't really eVil at all. He's actually harmless and quite kind. Unlike his nasty sister.
Oscar de Vil was rumored to be a vampire and thusly nicknamed the 'Count' because he always wore a black, hooded cloak.
And no, he isn't actually a vampire. He's just severely allergic to sunlight and has to wear a hooded cloak while outside during the day.
It's actually kinda funny/sad considering the fact that his wife, Dinita, loves the sun and taking walks.
She stopped doing it as often when she began dating him so she could spend more time with him, so it's safe to say their love was true.
Both of them were loving, confident, lively people who saw the best in everyone and loved life.
Oscar was a businessman and a doctor who was quite charitable to those around him and Dintia was an architect.
Dintia actually was the one who designed Hell Hall and the other de Vil properties.
The two of them and their kids were loved in the small community they lived in for the first 10 years of Malachai's life.
And then Dintia slowly started to forget things.
It was small things at first, like Mallory's favorite color and Malachai's favorite snack.
And then it was big things, like her anniversary and birthdays.
It only continued to spiral from there until Oscar dragged her to the doctor during the day—causing him to break into hives mind you—and got her checked out to find out what was wrong.
Not long after, they found out she had early onset dementia and Dintia started to change.
Forgetting who Oscar and even her own kids were. Not recognizing her two birds, Stormy and Sunny. Not recognizing her own pictures.
Oscar began to distance himself from his kids, throwing himself into his work in hopes of finding a way to save his weakening wife.
Dintia kept finding ways to escape the house and could often be found wandering around town, confused.
Some less than lovely people started to call her dementia instead of her actual name.
She died four years later when Malachai was 14 and Mallory was 10. And it hit everyone hard.
Oscar and Malachai both fell into a deep depression and due to the time period they were in, they received little to no help at all.
Oscar became a shut-in and rarely left his house, glaring at anyone who approached him on the rare occasions that he did.
Malachai became a shell of his former self. He stopped talking and smiling and goofing around as much, and daydreamed often of his mother never getting sick and his life never going to hell. Hardly able to accept reality.
He actually checked out for a bit—becoming emotionally detached from everyone around him—and didn't speak for years.
If his son, Philip Herbert aka P.H, hadn't been born, he would have never come out of it.
Unfortunately, while he and Oscar were emotionally dead to the world, Mallory started to change.
She became bitter and resentful and apathetic to everything that wasn't fashion. And her morals and what she saw as important slowly started to distort until she wasn't recognizable anymore.
And she was oh so hateful to anyone who wasn't her love, Dupree, who would go on to be her husband—earning her the alias Malevola.
Dupree was head over heels in love with her and blind to all her faults, which would come back to bite him later.
They'd go on to have 5 kids in this order; Cruella, Divus, Cyrus, Cecil, and Cotton.
Malevola/Mallory didn't even attempt to be a good mother. Ignoring them when she could get away with it and being out of town often.
She'd even snap at and belittle them from the moment they were born.
Cruella would go on to be a fashion designer as did Crisitan and you know the rest.
Cyrus became a teen dad and a farmer.
Cecil became a film director and willingly went to the isle for Cruella.
And Cotton became a detective and a pyro.
Cotton eventually met Carmen Sandiego, one thing led to another, and Ivana/Ivy de Vil was born.
Ivy is Malevola's favorite grandchild.
Malevola tried to make up for her parenting mistakes with Hunter and Ivy, and the other two kids, but failed.
Mainly because she played keep away with them and their mothers.
Oscar (Malevola) was a good grandfather who visited on occasion but couldn't undo the damage his daughter had done.
Dupree died before he could meet Hunter, Ivy, Diego, or Carlos.
He admitted openly on his death bed that he regretted not divorcing Malevola when their kids were young because, while he loved her, she wasn't a good person and screwed up their kids in ways that couldn't be fixed.
Most of the de Vils are mentally ill in one way or another.
Harry Badun is Hunter de Vil's younger half-brother.
Cotton died in a fiery accident he caused.
Cyrus died in a farming accident.
Charles died in a freak archery accident.
Oscar succumbed to his old age, a bitter, angry old man who the children of the Village feared.
Hunter and Ivy died in a car accident while trying to free the dalmatians from Cruella and got resurrected and sent to the isle.
Cecil died from not taking care of himself when he fell depressed upon realizing he had damned his son and that his niece and nephews would never be free of the isle.
Malachai got sick and died when P.H was very young, causing him to be taken in By Malevola and Dupree.
Due to the sudden loss of the only parental figure he had and the neglect and belittlement he suffered from Malevola, he went mad.
He was introduced to science by Divus and started to experiment on any animal he could get his hands on. It rarely ended well for the animals. But Malevola allowed it as long as her dogs and Malachai's snake weren't touched.
P.H ended up experimenting on his father's snake and it died.
Cruella helped him hide the evidence.
Malevola was devastated and never found her brother's snake, leading her to assume she lost it.
It was one of 4 times Cruella and her siblings ever saw her mother cry.
Malevola told Carlos once that he looked like her brother at his age. It was the only time she ever mentioned her brother before her death.
Anita knew all of Cruella's generation growing up. P.H always scared her.
Once when they were all little, Cruella convinced them all to try her favorite drink; ink.
They all got terribly ill from it and never did it again.
No one knows how Cruella can stand drinking that stuff.
Carlos lives a long, healthy life with his friends and Jane.
Divus was delighted to meet his niece and nephews. Along with all their partners and friends.
Horace and Jasper were friends with the de Vils and Radcliffes growing up.

What if Villians were good parents part 2;
Tumblr media
Summary: A look into what things would be like if Cruella de Vil was a good mother and aunt.
Trigger warnings; Offscreen Death, past child neglect, unhealthy coping mechanisms, adoption, and mental health issues.
Requested by; @profoundgladiatorbarbarian .
🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩
Archer hadn't meant for it to happen…
Archer hadn't meant for it to happen…
Archer hadn't meant for it to happen…
That's what Cruella kept telling herself as she drove to the police station. But that didn't quell the anger she felt in the slightest.
Because now he was gone.
Her nephew was gone—dead because of a stupid trick shot that he had tried against her advisement.
Leaving behind his three year old son—Hunter—who had witnessed the whole thing and called the police like he had been taught.
Who had arrived at Archer's farm to find him dead with an arrow in his neck, his wife nowhere to be found, and said son in hysterics.
Cruella knew that it wasn't fair or smart to be angry at a dead man. But she couldn't help it.
She couldn't believe that her nephew had been so reckless.
So selfish.
So stupid.
Perhaps it was a way for her to cope with the overwhelming exhaustion and sadness she felt. Or perhaps it was just because she was so overwhelmingly pissed at the fact that she didn't know what to do.
Who to call.
What decision to make regarding what would undoubtedly be asked of her when she arrived at the station.
Cruella wasn't a stranger to the legal protocol of what was to be done with an orphaned child.
She was old enough to remember when her uncle, Malachi, died and her cousin, P.H, came to live with her family after all.
She knew that Hunter (if she was remembering his name right) would either be placed with a relative of one of his parents or in an orphanage.
She knew that his mother had no family. Or none that could be found anyway.
She knew from Horace and Jasper that orphanages often weren't the best places.
And Cruella, of course, knew her family well. Knew what could go wrong.
Her mother wasn't a caring woman even when her father was still alive and that hadn't changed.
P.H loved experimenting on people and animals—never bothering to ask if it was okay before he started—and always ate the unhealthiest things.
Cristian loved his booze more than ever she did.
Divus was in school trying to become a teacher and forgot to eat a good portion of the time.
Cecil was always on the move trying to hit it big and couldn't afford to take care of a child even if he wanted to.
Cotton was barely an adult himself and had a dangerous job, and an even deadlier fascination with fire.
And Cyrus… was dead…
Which left Cruella.
Cruella who knew that she was emotionally and mentally unstable.
Cruella who had always been firmly against having kids after basically having to raise her younger brothers when her parents were away.
She knew that she could refuse if asked to take the toddler she barely knew in. That she didn't have to take him in. That he wasn’t her responsibility.
But she also couldn't get the image of the wiggling newborn baby with her grandfather's hair and father's eyes that she had last seen three years ago out of her head.
The baby turned toddler who was now sitting alone at the police station waiting for someone— anyone —to show up and collect him from the strange, scary, unfamiliar place he found himself in through no fault of his own.
Cruella knew that if asked to take him that she'd say yes. That it was inevitable and she couldn't—wouldn't just walk away and let Hunter be shipped off somewhere else.
She wouldn't allow him to be shipped off to her mother and have the same lonely childhood she had.
He deserved better than that.
And she was going to give it to him.
🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩
"Auntie Ella, where are we going?" Hunter, now nine, asked sleepily as she helped him into his jacket and searched frantically for the car keys in the dark of her mansion.
The clock read 3:00 AM.
Cruella didn't know what to tell him.
No.
She didn't know how to tell him the awful news.
How to tell him that his great uncle, Cotton, was dead because of his own stupidity and arsonist habits and that his three year old cousin, Ivy, was in the hospital with serious injuries. Mother nowhere to be found.
How was someone supposed to explain that to a nine year old who still had nightmares about his father's own death and his mother's disappearance from his life?
She didn't know.
But she knew she had to try.
"Ivy and her daddy got in a bad accident, and she needs us right now. We're going to go see her."
Hunter furrowed his brows. Taking a few minutes to process what she said as she passed him his shoes and searched for the keys.
"Oh. Is she okay?"
Cruella paused in her search for a brief moment. Not looking at him.
"She's… she's really hurt, darling. The doctors think she's going to be okay but they aren't sure and don't think she should be alone right now."
"Oh."
"I know. Now come on, get your shoes on and help me look for the keys."
🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩
As she stared at her younger nephew, Diego, as he slept on her couch, Cruella couldn't help but wonder how she kept getting into these situations.
She had already taken in Hunter and Ivy, who were now 10 and 4 respectively, and now she was to take in Cecil's oops baby that he hadn't known he had until yesterday.
Why she had agreed to take the 3 year old in while his father was still alive, she didn't know. But it wasn't like she could revoke it now considering the fact that Cecil was already out of the country on another one of his shoots.
Sighing, Cruella grabbed a blanket from nearby and draped it over the sleeping toddler. Who furrowed his brows but thankfully stayed asleep.
She really didn't get paid enough for this.
Oh wait.
She didn't get paid at all.
It was a good thing she was rich.
🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩
"Diego, darling, don't poke the baby" Cruella sighed tiredly as she strolled into the nursery at 1am to find her 4 year old nephew poking her newborn son.
Causing Carlos to wail louder than he already was.
"Sowwy Auntie Ella." Diego said, retracting his hand from the crib.
Cruella just ran her hand through his hair as she leaned over the crib to check on her son. Knowing that the older boy didn't mean any harm. "Why are you up? Did you have a nightmare?"
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw him shake his head. Causing his bangs to fall into his eyes.
" 'Los crying. Los sad?"
"No, darling. That's just the only way He knows how to communicate with us."
"Oh."
Cruella hummed in response, squeezing the squeaky dalmatian chew toy that amused her son for some unfathomable reason in hopes of calming him.
Causing his crying to cease as he stared up at her and the toy. Which he immediately reached for, cooing and clapping. Eyes lighting up.
Diego watched intrigued, so Cruella squeezed the toy again.
Exciting Carlos further.
And in that moment, Cruella allowed herself to smile despite her exhaustion—because she was doing much better at this than she ever thought she would.
And a part of her was much happier because of it.

Note
For your OC Remi de Vil, Carlos's younger brother:
What’s his relationship with his parents like?
What’s his relationship with his extended family like?
What gestures does he really appreciate? How do you get on his good side?
Is he a good liar?
How does he break bad news to someone?
Does he have a collection of anything?
Does he have any regrets?
What does he fear the most?
How does he respond to criticism?
Tumblr media
Trigger warning; death, illnesses, and dysfunctional family dynamics.
Question 1:
Remi, like Carlos, both fears and pities their mother-- Cruella. Fears her because she's heavily abusive and a lunatic. Pities her because she's miserable and she had a horrible childhood. Pities her because she's sick and needs help that she isn't getting because instead of being in a hospital or on medication, she's on the isle. Which causes alot of resentment on Remi's part towards the heroes because while he might not like Cruella, she's still his mother and she raised him.
Which leads directly into part 2 of your first question, which is Remi's relationship with his dad. Which is nonexistent because Remi has never met the guy and nether he nor Carlos remember him or if they even have the same dad. But unlike Carlos, Remi doesn't want to know his dad because in his mind he's thinking 'he wasn't there for me, so why should I go looking for him when he's probably a dead beat like the rest of the parents on the isle?'
Question 2:
Remi's relationship with his extended family is complicated. He doesn't know most of them and he honestly doesn't want too most of the time. But this is basically a summary of it all:
He resents Dupree (his grandfather) for not growing a backbone and leaving his awful grandmother when his mother and uncles were still kids. And for him being slightly neglectful.
He downright hates his grandmother (Mallory/Malevola) for ruining not one but two whole generations of his family with her crap. Hates her for being neglectful and emotionally abusive to everyone, and for playing favorites. Even if he feels the tiniest bit bad for her due to how quickly things went down hill in her childhood.
He has mixed feelings about his cousin P.H. On one hand, he thinks he's a freak and a lunatic for experimenting on helpless animals-- usually knowing that it will hurt them in the process. But he also pities him because his dad died when he was young and got landed with Mallory who didn't notice/care when he started to go mad. He mainly just avoids him tbh, even if it makes him feel a tad bit guilty. Remi refuses to risk his safety or the safety of his pets/cousins for a man who stood by while they were abused by his mother. He's also one of the many reasons that Remi despises Auardon (for more information, send an ask or drop a question down in the comments below).
He loves each and every pet in their family, no exceptions but you aren't here about them (even though it's incredibly werid that the de vils have an army of pets even though most of them hate animals).
He resents Cecil (Uncle) for going to the isle with Cruella. For getting Diego stuck there with the rest of them.
He hates his uncles Cyrus, Divus, and Cotton for abandoning his mother when they were young, for never helping her get better, and for what they did. Hates Cyrus for farming alone and recklessly, resulting in his cousin Charles (Hunter's dad) being orphaned. Hates Cotton for playing with fire and orphaning Ivy. Causing both Charlie and Ivy to be raised by their extended family but at different times. Hates Divus because of his freedom and practical disownment of their family. He thinks Divus thinks he's better than him and that brews hatred in him before they ever meet.
He hates Charles for being a reckless idiot which caused a horrendous archery accident that killed him and orphaned Hunter.
Remi hates Judge Dimsdale de Vil for tormenting so many people and animals. For causing a whole town to be cursed and for trying to get countless other de vils trapped in the town so he could escape and cause even more havoc than he already had.
He resents his great grandfather and his grand uncle Malachai for mentally checking out on his grandma, Mallory, after his great grandmother, Dinita, got sick and died. But he also feels bad for them because of their shared medical condition and their loss.
Remi feels bad for his great grandmother, Dinita. The kind architect who loved her family dearly and eventually became the reason they fell apart. Feels bad for the kind woman who was eventually given the cruel nickname 'Dementia ' because she got sick by foolish children who'd go on to have children that would continue to ruin their family.
He feels bad for his ancestors, Queen Charlotte and Princess Ivy, who's parents' favoritism screwed both of them over in their own ways and hates the fact that they allowed that to drive them apart.
Remi is indifferent towards Hades and likes Melione.
And of course, Remi loves his siblings and cousins to death. But that's not much of a surprise to anyone, is it? (If you wanna know his feelings on his cousins and siblings' partners let me know. And if you want to know more about their whole dynamic. Or about his relationship with his unofficial cousins, the Badun children).
Question 3:
He appreciates when people remember things about him-- like his favorite food, drink, song, etc.
And when they get them for him.
Or when they go places together.
Or when they remember things He likes. So that's how you get on his good side.
Question 4:
It depends on the situation-- if it's important and he's had time to think of a lie, yes. On the spot? No.
Question 5:
It depends on the news and who he is talking to but he usually tries to do it in private and quickly.
Question 6:
Remi collects sea shells, cans, glass bottles, and guitar picks.
Question 7:
Remi regrets alot of things. Usually times when he's embarrassed himself or not stood up for someone. If that makes sense.
Question 8:
Remi fears losing his friends above all else.. except maybe turning out like his mother?
Question 9:
He tries to stay neutral about it but often comes off as defensive. Though if he realizes that they're right, he tries to change for the better.
(Keep the asks coming and I will keep pumping them out. Hopefully it will fill up my vacation so I don't have to work too much on it).

Do you have a backstory for Remi de Vil?
Tumblr media
Yes I do actually. For both the backstory of his creation and the character's backstory. Thank you for asking and the explanations below can be found down below:
Backstory for Remi's creation:
Remi is based one of my bestfriends as are most of my ocs. You see, his favorite Disney villian is Cruella De Vil and he is a baker, cook, artist, and wannabe musician who loves cats and Axolotls. His favorite character is also yellow so with that information I crafted a descendants oc with that information.
Which is how Remington Phoniex De Vil was born. Now, as for Remi's in canon backstory.
Remi's backstory:
Remington "Remi" Phoniex De Vil was born on the isle of the lost on December 7th two years after his brother, Carlos, was. He grew up not knowing who his father was and quickly became resentful towards the man who assumedly abandoned both him and his brother to a miserable upbringing with Cruella.
He met Hannah, Skia, Luke, and Peachy when he was 6 and immediately hit it off with them. Joining their slowly growing crew and has been one of Hannah's closest friends ever since.
He is Hannah's 4th mate and one of the chefs of the crew, and he is very close to his brother and cousins.
Remi grew up with a love for food that he inherited from his first cousin once removed, P.H De Vil-- causing him to become a chef-- and a love for the finer things in life such as art-- leading to him to become an artist. He gained a love of music from his cousin, Diego, and has been trying to learn gutiar ever since.
His favorite food is chocolate chip cookies, his favorite drink is tea, and he tends to fight with a dagger. He found some abandoned Axolotls and cats in the barges when he was younger and took them in.
Remi is also one of the first members of Hananh Hook's crew to write an application to Auardon and never gives up faith in her. Even when her own family does and he is excited to see her again.
Hope that clears everything up!

Conversation
In which the entire extended de Vil family theorizes on why Hunter de Vil has blond hair-the only de Vil in living memory not to have black-and-white hair.
Carlos: He's adopted.
Diego: He's wearing a wig.
Cecil: He dyed it.
Cruella: He got into my fur-curing chemicals! HOW DARE YOU?
Malevola: True de Vils have black-and-white hair. He must have been dropped on the doorstep as a baby.
P. H.: A science experiment gone wrong.
Ivy: He shaved it all off and it grew back weird.
Hunter: OR MAYBE I JUST LOOK LIKE MY MOTHER'S SIDE OF THE FAMILY, OKAY?!?!

Jinxed-Chapter 2
It was the sound of a woman's soft sobbing that woke Bruno, sounding almost like his mother reliving her worst memory in the nightmares he and his sisters were powerless to stop. When they were young, the three of them would wordlessly, by silent agreement, gather at their mother's door when they heard her cry or call out for their father in her sleep. When she emerged in the morning, though, she never showed any sign of sadness or disturbed sleep, so they had all followed her lead and never mentioned it.
It wasn't his mother. Bruno blinked his eyes open to find them staring at a curved ceiling of dark, old wood. He felt like he'd been sleeping on the floor, which, it turned out, he had.
There was a shackle around his right ankle, the other end of which was driven deep into the floor. It was loose enough so as not to be painful or even that uncomfortable, but tight enough so that it couldn't be slipped off.
The room he was in was rocking slightly. A ship.
He vaguely remembered seeing a ship from a distance, although he didn't remember actually coming on it. He'd been very tired, both from the recent influx of visions, which had continued even after they had taken him from the Encanto, and from the long journey down the river, which no one had taken in his lifetime. The new invaders had come up the river. He didn't know what they or anybody else in the distant towns the river passed by called it. The people of the Encanto called it el Río Pedro.
He was dizzy, his mouth dry. His head hurt.
He tried to sit up. It didn't work.
"Hey, he's alive!" somebody said.
"Of course he's alive," somebody else said. "I would have noticed if I'd been sitting next to a dead body for the past two days."
"Yeah, well, he hasn't moved, and that weird green light stopped like three hours ago, so for all I knew..."
Juli had packed some drinks in the bundle of food she'd given him, right? He hoped she had, anyway.
He fumbled around in the packet, which he'd clutched close to him even in his sleep, and withdrew a water bottle. The packet felt lighter than he remembered.
He downed half the bottle in one go and splashed a little on his face. Finally feeling properly awake, he looked around.
Several people were staring curiously at him.
He'd never been around people he didn't know. His whole life, he'd been surrounded by people he knew. And who knew him, unfortunately.
Next to Bruno was a tall, bony man with a long nose and sheaves of brown hair sticking up in all directions.
There was an unhealthily pale man with green eyes whose black hair was halfway white, but his facial features were younger than Bruno's. Perhaps grief or a hard life had aged him. He certainly looked it-he had the manner of a man who had been worn down by life; it made Bruno uncomfortable, and it took him a few moments to realize that it was because he reminded Bruno of himself.
Across from the black-and-white haired man sat a grumpy-looking fellow, also with black-and-white hair, who looked like he could be first one's brother, or at the very least, cousin. Perhaps the white in the hair was a family trait, then, somehow?
In the back sat a tall, thin man with a thin black mustache, dressed in fine, noble clothing, or at least what Bruno assumed was fine, noble clothing, having never actually seen any. The man carried himself with the bearing of a noble, too. He was easily the oldest of the group, sixty years at the very least.
Up in the front sat four women. Three of them were identical. The same blonde hair, the same green eyes, the same vapid expressions as they whispered and giggled to each other like schoolgirls. It was eerie.
He was a triplet, of course, and there was a pair of identical twins in the village, but identical triplets? Surely that was rarer. They seemed to move in tandem, all three of them brushing a stray piece of hair behind an ear within moments of each other. He and his sisters certainly never did that. They were all opposites of each other.
The fourth woman, red-haired, was hunched over something in the corner, crying. It was her cries that had woken Bruno.
He stared at the motley group. They stared back at him.
The grumpy-looking black-and-white haired man broke the silence. "So, what are you in for?"
"Patrick Howard!" The weary-looking black-and-white haired man snapped.
"What?" The two of them glared at each other.
"Don't mind them." The brown-haired man said, and Bruno had to resist the urge to move away when he realized that he was speaking to him. Most people in the Encanto, at this point, didn't speak to him if they could help it.
"They're cousins," he went on. "We've been stuck here for two days, I think, and they've been fighting the entire time. I think they each blame each other for ending up here."
"Well, he's going because he wants to go," the man who had spoken first-Patrick Howard-snapped, pointing at his cousin. "So after that they decided to investigate the whole family, and they raided my lab and I ended up here."
"I don't see how it's my fault that they found your experiments! You had thirteen different types of illegal drugs that you were trying to combine with junk food and feed to animals!"
"So? They wouldn't have looked into me if you hadn't decided to go after Ella!"
"Of course I'm going after Ella! She's my sister! She's your cousin too, you should be willing to help her too!"
"Not all of us are willing to doom ourselves and give up the rest of our lives for our family, Cecil!"
Bruno's father had given up his life for his family, but that didn't seem like that was the case here. "Que..." he murmured.
The man next to him seemed to understand that he was confused. "Cecil and Patrick Howard de Vil," he explained. "You might have heard of Cecil's sister, Cruella de Vil? No? Anyway, Cruella got sent to the Isle a couple years ago, and now Cecil wanted to go with her, but also Auradon investigated the whole family-they're all mired in crime like you wouldn't believe-"
"Thank you."
"That wasn't a compliment, Patrick Howard!"
"Oh, just because you're the only goody two-shoes in the family ever, Cecil-"
The speaker didn't seem concerned that the two de Vils-Diablo? Really?-had heard him. "And they found Patrick here-"
"Patrick Howard."
"-running all these little illegal experiments in his laboratory, so now he's here with the rest of us."
"Like you never ran any illegal experiments, Dr. Doofus," Patrick Howard snapped irately.
"Doofenshmirtz," he snapped right back.
Several days, cooped up together with no break, trapped, en route to a final, unknown destination....it was no wonder that they were all squabbling like little children.
"So, I'm Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz." The "doctor" was emphasized. And apparently Bruno hadn't misheard the surname.
"I'm sorry-Dr. Doofen..."
"Doofenshmirtz."
"Si, si," Bruno said hastily. Doofenshmirtz had the air of a man who had been teased his whole life for his surname, and Bruno did not want to accidentally rub him the wrong way. Or rub anyone the wrong way. All he wanted was to live in peace with his family in the Encanto and not be blamed for his visions...
Well, that was an impossible dream, now.
He realized they were all staring at him expectantly. What were they waiting for? Oh, right.
"Bruno," he offered them hesitantly, unsure of how much information he should reveal to them. Weren't they villains?
They didn't seem very villainous. Except maybe Patrick Howard. But the crying woman in the corner reminded him of his mother, and the three blondes looked vacuous and petty, but not evil, and apparently this Cecil person was only going to the Isle because his sister was there?
If Pepa or Julieta had been exiled instead of him, would he have gone after them? He hoped so.
They wouldn't come after him, but they had their babies to take care of. They had an Encanto to get invaders out of.
"I am Esteban," the man in the back said, making Bruno jump; it was the first time he'd spoken. He looked as though he was thoroughly disgusted with the puerile behavior of the others. "Former chancellor of Avalor, loyal cousin to the queen, Elena." He spoke the words with pride. Bruno had never heard of any Avalor.
"I'm Cecil de Vil," Cecil said. "This is my cousin, Patrick Howard de Vil, that's Dr. Doofenshmirtz, and those three over there are..." He hesitated.
"Paula, Laura, and Claudia," Patrick Howard suggested; the way he filled in his cousin's sentences suggested that they had not always disliked each other.
"Paulette, Laurette, and Claudette!" One of the three blonde women snapped.
"Right, of course." Cecil tried to smooth things over. "Apologies, Laurette."
"I'm Claudette."
"I'm sorry," he apologized again. "Anyway-and that's Anastasia Tremaine over there."
The red-haired woman lifted her head for a moment and stared blankly at Bruno before sinking her head back into the bundle she was carrying.
"Behold," Esteban said sardonically. "The great mortal enemies of Auradon."
"What?" Bruno said.
"They know we're not actually dangerous," Cecil pointed out. "That's why there's only us here. They already sent all the major villains to the Isle. We're the last stragglers."
"The rest of us are the last stragglers," his cousin noted. "You waltzed right in to the palace, asking to be taken to Ella. I hope you're happy. Anyway, guy with the glowing eyes, what are you in for?"
"And here we are again." Cecil rolled his eyes.
"Glowing eyes?" Bruno echoed weakly.
They all nodded, even the blonde triplets.
"You were asleep when they dragged you in," Doofenshmirtz told him. "But your eyes opened, and glowed green the whole time. Literally, glowed. You talked to yourself too. Sounded very ominous, if I may say so."
"We thought you might be dead, or dying," Patrick Howard added. "We took some food out of your bag-they didn't give us much, and if you were dead you wouldn't need it anyway."
Cecil rubbed his eyes with the heels of his palms.
"Are you a prophet or something?" Esteban asked curiously.
Bruno froze. "How did you know?" If there was one thing that was good about this situation, it was that he would be surrounded by new people who didn't know who he was or the expectations placed on him or how it all went wrong and how his visions ruined everything. And now they had guessed it, not half an hour in.
They all froze too, staring at him.
"I didn't fully mean it," Esteban murmured. "I was halfway being sarcastic..."
"Prophet? Really?" Cecil asked.
"That explains all the weird things you were saying," Patrick Howard added.
"What did I say?" His nightmares-visions-had been jumbled, as the ones he dreamed often were. He had no big open space to see what would happen, to emerald tablet to project it on. He didn't remember it clearly. He didn't think he wanted to. But what had he said?
"Something about the Isle, I think," Doofenshmirtz offered. "And a barrier falling, or breaking-"
"No, a house falling," Esteban corrected.
"It was both." Anastasia had stopped crying and was staring at Bruno. From the way everyone else was staring at her, it was highly unusual for her to speak, lost as she was in her melancholy.
"Uh-Dragons!" Patrick Howard remembered, looking almost like a child reliving his favorite fantasies. "And a bunch of names I don't remember..."
"Julieta?" Bruno suggested. "Pepa?"
"I think so."
"Also Mirabel," Esteban added. "Antonio. Camilo."
Mirabel. Antonio. Camilo.
He knew those names. He had seen the faces they belonged to.
In the days preceding his arrest-he had known something was coming, but not what-he had spent all day, every day, holed up in his room, having vision after vision, both voluntary and involuntary.
These names, they belonged to the Madrigal children not yet born, and they would be important, somehow. He hoped that their names being mentioned meant that he had seen something good about them. He hoped.
He had frantically written down everything he had seen, not understanding it, only knowing that he had to leave it for la familia to see. Maybe it would help them later. He had also left all his emerald tablets there, with his visions imprinted on them. His visions always made things worse, but at least his family would know what was coming. Maybe it would help them get rid of the new invaders, somehow.
They were sending him to the Isle now, and afterwards, they wouldn't bother much with the Encanto. Their duty would be done. If his exile was protecting his family, he was glad to go.
He rummaged around in the, indeed, emptier pack Julieta had given him, looking for more water. He needed a drink.
Instead, his fingers closed on pieces of what felt like cold stone. He looked. Green emerald.
Clever Juli. She had taken some of the broken pieces of his vision tablets, the ones he had smashed when their visions turned out to be useless-like the one warning him of the new invaders, which he had only received the day they had come, far too late to do anything about it-and hidden them beneath all the food she had made for him, her arepas, her bunuelos, that baked apple thing that didn't have a name but was his favorite. He could use the broken shards for bribery, for money. At this point, he would take what he could get. Outside the Encanto, emeralds were considered valuable, right?
"So," Patrick Howard said, "you're really a prophet?" He held his hand behind his back. "How many fingers am I holding up?"
Bruno blinked.
"He can see the future, not the present, Patrick," Cecil sighed.
"Patrick Howard. All right then-can you tell how many guards are going to come get us when we finally reach the Isle? Will we be able to fight them?"
Bruno's gaze drifted towards the single locked hatch set in the wall. "It doesn't work that way."
"So how does it work?"
So how does it work? Pepa had asked him, when the three of them were eight years old, and he had chased the two of them out of his room wiggling his fingers howling "Wooo! I'm scary Bruno with the glowing eyes, and I'm gonna tell your future!"
He missed them. Things had been difficult between them, lately, but he missed them.
"It's...complicated," he said finally.
"No wonder they sent you to the Isle," Esteban said. "They do not like that, seeing the future. You could be a threat to them."
Bruno blinked. "A threat?" Him, a threat? What could he ever do? Pepa was the one who could strike people with lightning. Juli was the one who could heal them. All he could do was tell them what was coming.
"They don't like magic users that aren't under their control," Esteban explained. "And if you can see what is going to happen, what they would do...they definitely don't like that. That is why they sent me. The magic part, I mean. I have some magic. Although the reason they gave my family was because of some, ah, missteps I made in my youth-"
"Really?" Patrick Howard asked. "I heard you allied with the sorceress who killed-"
"Patrick Howard!" Cecil snapped.
Esteban's stoic, even expression faltered for a moment; he looked guilt-ridden and grief-stricken. Then his face cleared like nothing had happened.
"Anyway," Cecil interrupted, perhaps feeling it best to continue on with the conversation. "I'm going for my sister. Ella de Vil-they sent her for stealing puppies."
"She was going to skin them for their fur," Patrick Howard added helpfully.
Cecil sighed. "Doofenshmirtz, what did they get you for, unlawful experimentation like Patrick here?"
"Patrick Howard."
Doofenshmirtz shrugged. "Pretty much. Plus a few other things, nothing very important."
"The triplets over there-" Bruno started, before realizing that Cecil was referring to the three blonde women. In fact, the term "triplets" might never refer to him again.
"-they actually wanted to go to the Isle because the man they're in love with is there."
"The man they're in love with?" Bruno asked.
"All three of them, with the same guy," Doofenshmirtz confirmed. "They won't stop going on about him."
"Oh, Gaston!" One of the triplets-he still didn't know which was which-gushed. "He's the best, the most wonderful-"
"The greatest," one of her sisters added.
The third one nodded. "No one's as amazing as Gaston."
"You realize he can only choose one of you, yes?" Esteban queried.
They looked at each other, shrugged, and went back to talking amongst themselves. Probably about Gaston.
Three sisters, in love with the same man.
He had seen something like this. He had left the tablet, and written it down, and maybe his familia would see it and do something about it.
Do what about it? His visions could never be altered.
Isabela and Dolores, all grown up. The youngest Guzman boy kneeling before Isabela, while Dolores looked on, heartbroken.
If only his visions could spare his family from pain and harm....
But if they couldn't then what was the point of it? Why had the miracle given him this gift?
"And Anastasia," Cecil finished, "was sent for-being cruel to her stepsister?"
Anastasia nodded. "That's what they said.”
“The stepsister married into royalty,” Patrick Howard added.
“That explains it,” Doofenshmirtz muttered.
Anastasia’s breath hitched. “But my mother-I didn't mean-" She sounded like she was about to cry again. She hugged the little bundle she was holding, and that was when Bruno realized what it was.
"Is that-a baby?"
"My baby. Anthony." Anastasia began to rock the little boy back and forth, just like Julieta and Pepa did with their daughters. "They said he would be better off with his mother, but he won't be better off with my mother, and they didn't let me speak to my husband..." She trailed off, humming to her son, as though trying to pretend that the rest of them weren't there.
"They send-why are they sending your baby? He's not a-a villain!"
Cecil laughed bitterly. "None of us are villains. They're only sending us because they've already caught all the big fish, and all they have left is us. They want to look like they're doing something. Where are you from, don't you realize this?"
"Well, they're sending you because-"
"I know why they're sending me, Patrick Howard! Fine, so the rest of you."
"Probably it doesn't look good for them, to have the child of a villain running around free in Auradon." Doofenshmirtz looked uneasy, pensive.
Anastasia squinted at him perceptively, with a mother's eye. "You have a child?"
"My daughter," he admitted. "She's old enough to get along on her own, she's with my ex-wife, but still..."
"I have two cousins." Esteban was the next to volunteer information about his family.
Patrick Howard shrugged when they all looked at him. "What? I don't have any kids. I never married."
"No, you were married to your job," Cecil snorted.
"I..." Bruno hesitated in this newfound almost camaraderie. No one had ever acted like this around him before, except his sisters. Everyone else was too wary of him. "I have two sisters. And my brothers-in-law. And their daughters. Two nieces. And my mother."
"None of us have any children," one of the blonde triplets said. "How could any of us marry another man when one of us could marry Gaston?"
This led to a lot of suppressed choking and laughter.
"Uh..." Bruno felt like he'd missed something. "Who is this Gaston?"
"The man they're in love with," Doofenshmirtz told him again.
"He also tried to kill the high king of Auradon," Cecil added.
"Oh."
Nobody said anything for a while. Bruno was glad of the silence; it allowed him to sit and think and absorb what he'd been told.
"So, the people on the Isle," he said suddenly, "are they really evil people? Or are they like....us?"
Everyone looked at each other.
"At first, they sent the real evil ones," Doofenshmirtz told him. "Maleficent, the Evil Queen, that priest who burnt down half of Paris..."
"He was a minister," Cecil corrected.
"He still burnt down half of Paris. That crazy hunter guy, Agrabah's grand vizier..."
Bruno had no idea who any of these people were, but he tried not to let it show.
"They even brought some back from the dead. But then they ran out of major villains, and they started sending the small fry, like us. But they're all still there. Unless they've all killed each other. Then we have nothing to worry about."
There was silence again, while everyone pondered the fate they could possibly meet on an Isle full of villains. But then-
"I'm sorry, did you say they could bring back the dead?" Bruno clarified.
"Not on the Isle," Esteban told him. "There's no magic there. Most of the villains did whatever they did with magic, so they put up a barrier. Magic doesn't work there."
Bruno hesitated, inhaling. "No magic at all?"
"As far as I know," Esteban confirmed, and everyone else nodded agreement.
Bruno closed his eyes. "Gracias a Di-s," he murmured.
