«El Cristo de Pablo no existió realmente, sino solo en la mente de quienes han querido de buena fe creer en él. Fue una especulación en la que se han amalgamado ingredientes religiosos de origen egipcio, mesopotámico, hebreo, persa, helénico, romano y alguna más, sin que sea posible imaginar que posee un referente identificable por percepciones reales. Por el contrario, puede afirmarse que la persona del llamado Jesús el Nazareno tuvo existencia real.»

I was writing my love poems, which sprouted out from me on all sides, and I was dying of depression, nomadic, abandoned, gnawing on the alphabet.

World Premiere FNF Restoration!
NEVER OPEN THAT DOOR | NO ABRAS NUNCA ESA PUERTA
Argentina, 1952. Estudios San Miguel. 85 minutes
Screenplay by Alejandro Casona, from two short stories by Cornell Woolrich (William Irish)
Produced and directed by Carlos Hugo Christensen
More noir films have been based on the stories of Cornell Woolrich than any other writer, and NOIR CITY is proud to present this brand-new restoration of one of the best of those adaptations. In “Someone’s on the Phone,” Ángel Magaña plays a man bent on avenging the death of his sister, driven to suicide by gambling debts. In “The Hummingbird Comes Home,” Roberto Escalada portrays a racketeer who brings the gang to his boyhood home to lay low after a robbery. His blind madre doesn’t approve. Originally a three-part anthology of Woolrich tales, Never Open That Door was released separately from the 73-minute If I Should Die Before I Wake, also adapted by Casona and Christensen. Benefitting from the incredible cinematography of Pablo Tabernero, this is one of the most evocative realizations of Woolrich ever produced, featuring masterful sequences of sustained suspense. Said Buenos Aires film critic Horacio Bernades, “Rarely has an Argentine film been more purely cinematic than this.”
CAST: Someone on the Phone: Ángel Magaña (Raúl), Renée Dumas (Luisa), Diana de Córdoba (Nelly), Nicolás Fregues (money lender), Pedro Fiorito, Orestes Soriani, Percival Murray, Rosa Martín , Arnoldo Chamot. The Hummingbird Comes Home: Roberto Escalada (Daniel), Ilde Pirovano (the mother), Norma Giménez (María), Luis Otero (Juan)

STREET OF CHANCE
Tumblr media
United States, 1942. Paramount [Universal]. 74 minutes
Screenplay by Garrett Fort, based on the novel The Black Curtain by Cornell Woolrich
Produced by Burt Kelly. Directed by Jack Hively
The first case of amnesia in the film noir era comes with a typically intriguing Woolrichian twist. Frank Thompson survives a near fatal accident only to have the shock partially restore his memory! He realizes he’s lived the past several years as someone other than his true self. With the help of his incredulous girlfriend Ruth, Frank embarks on a nocturnal quest to determine his true identity. This modest offering from the B-unit at Paramount benefits from some A-list contributors, principally stars Burgess Meredith and Claire Trevor, and director of photography Theodor Sparkuhl, whose contributions to the look of early ’40s noir have gone largely unheralded. A wonderful gallery of supporting characters skitter and sneak through Frank’s waking nightmare, well rendered by journeyman director Jack Hively who had previously helmed many entries in RKO’s mystery series The Saint.
CAST: Burgess Meredith (Frank Thompson), Claire Trevor (Ruth Dillon), Louise Platt (Virginia Thompson), Sheldon Leonard (Joe Marucci), Frieda Inescort (Alma Diedrich), Jerome Cowan (Bill Diedrich), Adeline deWalt Reynolds (Grandma Diedrich), Arthur Loft (Sheriff Stebbins), Clancy Cooper (Burke), Ann Doran (Miss Peabody), Paul Phillips

Two of my biggest artistic and life inspirations were Salvador Dali and Frida Kahlo.Others were, of course, Pablo Picasso for not just Cubism but for life philosophies too and indeed Andy Warhol, Bansky, Marta Minujín, Luis Manuel Otero Alcantara and so many more.
There have been so many great artists and great minds with powerful souls that have walked this earth. In his autobiography, Salvador Dali wrote about how, as a child, he would throw himself down the stairs just to see people's reactions. I can absolutely relate. Many times I would say something super hardcore inappropriate just to see people's faces, it amused me but then eh, I didn't need to see that, I don't like doing it except for with people I know haha. Not for the energy attention, No, just to see to SEE their faces and expressions all lack of composure visually distorted, funny looking. Then I like to see them actually bust out laughing.Reactions are supposed to be spur of the moment and not how we live our lives.
Life is to be embraced and responded to, not reacted to because we are more than animals.
He also felt unchallenged in school & though he was experiencing success in the Spanish art world, Dalí felt unchallenged by his instructors at the Academy. His tendency to challenge the authority of the Academy and to encourage his peers to do the same led to disciplinary actions and eventually to his dismissal in 1926. In an interview he spoke about his fame saying “I don’t know if I am the most famous painter in the world,” Dalí responded, “because lots of the people who ask for my autograph in the street don’t know if I’m a singer, a film star, a madman, a writer — they don’t know what I am.”
With Frida Kahlo, it was the pain and awkward look and love that brought us together. The way she saw colors, vivid vcolors in the darkest places. Colors in death~ beds rising, in skulls, in colors born from the challenges, isolation, love, and physical pain. She was isolated, in a way. Con'td in Art Blog.

June 29 ZODIAC
Horoscope and character for those brought into the world on June 29 Their psychological capacities are unequivocally evolved, they are intelligent people, innovators, with broad educational experience. They care profoundly about your honor and notoriety, ready to accomplish general acknowledgment. Your hierarchical abilities are conspicuously evolved, utilizing clear and coherent strategies at work. Be that as it may, these individuals can have a marginally oppressive disposition. Furthermore, they can turn out to be aimlessly revered by others, despite the fact that they care little for others and are forceful. By then, they get to continue on toward the value of others. They are imperious and lively, fit for being out of line and dangerous. At the point when somebody goes against them they can be extremely savage and narrow minded. They safeguard the interests of their family, particularly kids, with extraordinary fierceness. They express compassion toward the old, track down interest in antiquated traditions, old and exceptional things. They additionally prefer to gather keepsakes and whatever can help them to remember the past. Deserts: They have zero control over their motivations and wants, they are childish. Throughout everyday life, they can arrive at a place that they can utilize handily. The people who were conceived today, regardless of whether they come from less fortunate circles, can ascend throughout everyday life, to a position where they shouldn't fear their opponents.
