Anyways…. I love Oil! and I’m finished reading it after a LONG hiatus and it’s my favorite ever…. Especially the Watkins family oh how I heart those freaks.
"My Life With Charles Manson" written by Paul Watkins.
Paul Watkins was one of the members of the "illustrious" 'Manson Family'. Whether you believe that this group of people were a cult or not, the criminology and psychology behind the Tate-LaBianca murders has fascinated people to no end. Paul claims in the book to have been 'Manson's right had man', and describes his time with the group. There really isn't much written on the crime aspect in this book, but it does provide an interesting perspective that I hadn't seen in other pieces of literature which came from other members.
Paul passed away from cancer at the young age of 40, in 1990. After his death, the book entered some sort of unknown copyright void, where I still have no idea who owns it to this day. There is only this one printing of the book, from what I understand, and even after reading the material in 2021, I still have no idea about the book's status.
I was able to find a copy of it on ebay for 100 dollars, which was cheap in my eyes for such a rare book. Even better that it was still intact. I took the liberty to scan it, and uploaded it onto Archive. org. It is in a zip file, and the pages are scanned as jpegs. I did not compile it into a PDF, though if you are up to it, feel free to do so. It's half a gig, so kind of large. Sorry.

The 60's yet again? Of course, I have to mention The Beatles then. They are the epitome of the period, because they hold their sway over the latter. I mean, they can still release another single – one member's demo repurposed into their own piece – and sell like crazy. Still, one has to notice something about them, which keeps getting forgotten – they allowed themselves to be weird. Don't laugh here, many don't do something in the vein as they achieve such levels of fame. For instance, one of their most famous songs – check the link – might be a warning about nostalgia, yet the piece sounds like they keep pulling your leg to be more observant of what they try to achieve. Are they mocking the theme or making the latter more prominent? Why not both?
