wtf is going on in this church, my little guys brother just got turned into a dragon that we had to mercy kill as a class and he still has school tomorow!? we are not doing school today we are going to get a happy meal and watch the breakfast club in class!!!
rambling thoughts below
im having a lot of fun liastening to the supports, i rly enjoy the character writing. my main chars are claude, hilda and sylvain and recently ingrid. i am trying to recruit as many as i can but lifes hard i am a bad teacher :(
i picked the golden deer in the end just because it felt right but edelgard and dimitri are extremely charging. i really wish i could recruit them too. i am hoping for a true end with all three house leaders alive. edelgard and claude are easily the most interesting characters outright in the school roster but jeritza, jeralt, rhea and seteth seem to hold the most interest of the non-school chars. my current thoguhts: claude is possibly an usurper of house riegan. his father either exiled or killed on purpose rather than an accident. i think he's keenly aware the grand duke (his grapa) will soon be out of the picture. there's a hierarchy in the alliance and the weaker houses have already defected such as daphnel becoming galatea with ingrid's support. claude intends to exploit that, he knows a lot abt crests but for what purpose? i think he was atempting to use his crest along with the sword of the creator to fully exert his control over the alliance. house riegan is the defacto largest stakeholder but the fact that house daphnel would even defect to faerghus for the sake of money says a lot abt how tenuous the ties between alliance nobles are. ive just got to flayn being saved and learning more abt crests. crests are the most powerful object in this world as it demarks you as able to use the relic weapons. you are born with crests via rng and crests automatically make you of noble blood. it is another object of status/power in the world. but due to the rng, this means that older noble children without crests are thrown by the wayside. naturally this isn't the greatest situation for the non-crest noble kids as we can see with miklan and sylvain. the crest nobles like ingrid and marianne are used like bargaining tools to cement their families power in the world. its especially grim for the ladies bc bloodlines, ingrids story was particularly emo for me.
there's also the politics of the world. as far as i can tell, there's in-universe racism against people of duscur and there was an incident to do with the faerghus king (dimitris dad) being killed IN duscur? ill be honest this wasnt super clear to me but the npc chatter denotes that people think ill of dedue bc of duscur discriminiation.
idk or care about why felix's dad is at the monastery hes annoying. but it seems the church has the most authority within the land. which is. concerning, given rheas bloodlust. the whole church of serios is bamboozling. rhea is definitely 100% either the actual main goddess OR she is her direct descendant. i think seteth and flayn are also her descendants bc of how they look. there's also that one line where rhea for some reason trails off before calling flayn seteths sister making me think that seteth and flayn are HER descendants actually and she is their like x15 great grandmother or something. flayn is also born on the same day as one of the saints which hints at it more and more.
thinking on the opening movie (which i wish was in better quality) - i think that's miss seiros/rhea and she stole nemesis' sword and put it in a fake tomb and declared herself dead to live as a human forevermore.
i have no fucking clue who we are or who sothis is but i love this little kusogaki. shes so moe. i really truiy cant wait to see what happens. i am about to slap jeritza around i hope i can kiss him.

Unmerry Men AKA The Problem With Robyn Hill
I’ve been sitting on this rant for a while. I’m sure there are people who have talked this topic to death since Volume 7 ended, and did a much better job than I am about to, but I still feel the need to throw my hat in the ring (or shoot my arrow at the target given the subject matter) and say definitively and without question: that Robyn Hill is a terrible character.
Get some snacks. This is going to be a long one.
Tumblr media
Let me preface this rant by saying I don’t hate Robyn HIll...in CONCEPT. That last word is very important.
The idea behind her character is a sound one: Atlas is characterized as a country with a VERY clear disparity between the rich (Atlas)
Tumblr media
and the poor (Mantle)
Tumblr media
So it makes perfect sense that there would be a Robin Hood (see what I did there) type character that would bridge this gap between the two and seek to make things equal, or at least a little less lopsided. As an idea this is great, but the problem (as with most everything in RWBY) is in the execution.
Outside of Forrest extolling her praises in the back of a cop car in Chapter 2, the first time we see Robyn is when she stops Clover, Ruby, Qrow, and Penny from reaching the Amity tower site.
During this introduction, she tries to coerce Clover into disclosing classified government information via her Semblance, and Penny has to expose her ambush tactics. Not the best first impression.
Now in a vacuum, this scene isn’t really that bad. Thanks to (clunky) exposition, we are already aware that there is friction between the military and the Happy Huntresses. As such it makes sense that we the audience first meet Robyn as an antagonistic force against RWBY and their allies.
The thing with this though is that all four of the writers of this volume forgot to lift the perception of Robyn being an antagonist until around the final third of the volume. Objectively, there is no reason anyone outside of her own group to want to trust or follow her.
The M,K,K, & E are trying to position Ironwood and Robyn in the roles of the Sherriff of Nottingham and Robin Hood respectively. The main problem with this is that they fail to establish Ironwood as a tyrannical threat on par with the Sherriff.
Tumblr media
Does he make questionable decisions? Certainly. Are his choices morally wrong? In some cases, yes. But they are more often than not written in a way where the choices he makes are OBJECTIVELY best for everyone (even if they try to frame it otherwise).
Closing the borders, hiding the Amity plan, diverting resources to FINISH said plan, and his other tactics (while at times misguided) were done in order to protect as many people as he could from Salem and her forces. They were all calculated risks that clearly took a mental and emotional toll on him. He’s a severely broken man trying to keep whatever he has left from falling apart, but everyone is working against him (including his own allies but that’s another story).
This brings me back to Robyn. She is hailed as the “Hometown Hero of Mantle”, but all we ever do is see her take shots at Ironwood and Jacques and talk about how much the former ISN’T helping Mantle. My question to her, her hardcore cans, and CRWBY is “What has Robyn done to help Mantle?”. RWBYJNR and various talking heads mention how Robyn is helping the people of Mantle, but because the volume (seemed) so rushed to get to Salem’s arrival, we never see her doing anything that’s not directly tied to the plot.
She’s not working on Mantle’s wall, she’s not in the streets talking to people, handing out medical supplies, giving away food, or anything that actively helps Mantle. We don’t even see her fight Grimm in the streets until the FINAL episodes of the volume. All she and her group do is actively antagonize the military and steal (which we never see them give to the poor). For someone hailed as the town’s hero, she doesn’t seem to really be doing anything to earn that title.
After the election night massacre, she openly declares war on Ironwood essentially and begins stealing resources needed for the Amity project, until she is ultimately stopped by Blake and Yang.
Now in theory I have no problem with Yang and Blake telling her about the Amity plan; my main hang up about it is that Robyn has done nothing to earn this trust.
Until this point Robyn has been getting in their way as they try to reestablish global communications, but now they suddenly feel comfortable telling this sensitive information to a complete stranger and risking a leak even when they KNOW Tyrian is in the city? Instead of telling her that, why not tell her about Tyrian instead? I’m sure she would want justice for the people he killed.
Then she is later invited to the Council meeting (despite not being a member) and made aware of classified information that she shouldn’t know of, as well as make a complete ass of herself and show why she probably shouldn’t have won in the first place.
This leads to her finally believing Ironwood, but eventually that gets tossed out the window at the end of the volume where her actions almost directly lead to Clover’s death.
As she, Qrow, and Clover are transporting Tyrian back to Atlas, Ironwood’s order to arrest RWBYJNRQO is issued. Now there are three things that are very important to keep in mind here after this order is issued:
1. Clover is clearly conflicted about following this order.
2. Qrow is calmly trying to talk things out.
3. Robyn is NOT under arrest.
Let me repeat that. ROBYN IS NOT UNDER ARREST.
So as Qrow is level headedly suggesting they all talk it out, Robyn (who again is NOT under arrest) starts a fight that results in Tyrian escaping his restraints, the plane going down (after Tyrian kills the pilot and co-pilot), Robyn herself being unconscious, and Clover being ultimately being murdered.
Now tell me after all the information is presented, why we are supposed to care for this character? What have the writers done to position her as someone we should invest in?
A lot of her accomplishments are told to us rather than shown, and whenever we do see her onscreen she’s mostly a nuisance that makes pretty much any situation she’s in worse. Yes, I know this is just one volume and she will obviously be a central character in V8 and possibly 9, but the damage has been done. Any attempt to salvage her will just be cleaning up the fall out from V7.
Now since I’m not one of those people that likes to complain for the sake of it, I’ll voice my opinion on how Robyn could have been written better.
The first thing we do is distance her from the Happy Huntresses. She will still be the leader, but that information won’t be revealed until AFTER the election. It’s not really a good look for a vigilante to try and run for a public office if they are still breaking the law. That’s like Bruce Wayne running for mayor of Gotham AS Batman (though the people would likely still vote for him).
So as far as the public (including Ironwood and RWBYJNRQO) are concerned, Robyn is a normal Mantle city official and Joanna Greenleaf is the leader of the Huntresses. For those of you who don’t remember who she is (and I don’t blame you), this is Joanna Greenleaf:
Tumblr media
The second thing I’m going to do is give her a more established connection to Ironwood. My idea? Former military. Robyn was once a part of the Atlas military’s intelligence and recon division because of her lie detecting semblance. When she discovers corruption within the system (lets say something having to do with Faunus, the mines, Mantle, or the SDC) she exposes it but quickly becomes disillusioned with military life and is discharged. She then begins living in Mantle and becomes their representative. We can say this happened maybe five to ten years before the series itself starts.
She served under Ironwood and has a deep respect for him, but does not agree with his decisions as defacto head of the Council. This is what leads to the friction between them.
Next, we change up how she and the Huntresses are introduced in V7. When RWBYJNRQO arrive in Mantle the election race has only barely begun (we’re pushing it back). We see posters for Robyn and maybe hear snippets of an interview she is giving to a news station on one of the TVs.
When the Grimm attack, instead of RWBYJNRQO running out to help immediately, they are cut off by the Happy Huntresses who quickly get rid of the monsters. Ruby and the others wonder who they are before the Huntresses scatter when Penny and the Ace-Ops arrive. The heroes are still arrested for stealing an airship and violating Atlas airspace (as they should have), but now there is some intrigue about who that group of women were.
Forrest still gives his exposition, but leaves out Robyn because no one knows she’s their leader.
When the gang arrive at the school they meet with Ironwood and Winter, but hear Ironwood complaining about “that woman” after having just finished a call on his scroll.
Fast forward to the mine mission. Instead of Jacques showing up, this is where we gets their first full appearance from Robyn. She is brought via airship to the mine (along with an exasperated Winter and Penny) and begins to badger Ironwood about ducking their meeting, stating that Mantle still hasn’t received the supplies he promised days ago. You could also have her briefly greet the kids and Qrow before going back to argue with Ironwood.
Things proceed as normal, but inbetween some of the bigger story events we see news reports of Robyn helping people around Mantle. Feeding the poor, cheering up the miners, handing out supplies, giving speeches, and other things to show that she really is the hero of the people. Not everything has to be directly tied to the plot, you can use extra devices like tv news and the like to expand on characters. They tried this in V7 but they didn’t go far enough with in my opinion. This would inform us more on Robyn’s character without her being the direct focus as well as give the audience an actual reason to get behind the things she says.
The main aspect of Robyn’s character that I would focus on would be her relationship with Ironwood. Nothing romantic, just how their ideologies align (or don’t) and how they view each other. They respect one another. Robyn knows Ironwood is a good man, but she doesn’t fully understand why he’s doing the things that he is doing. She doesn’t know why he’s being so secretive. She wants to give him a chance, but he keeps denying her.
On Ironwood’s part he knows that morally Robyn is in the right and genuinely wants to help everyone in both cities, but his paranoia will not allow him to simply tell her what is really going on. Salem’s reach is far and if she was able to turn Lionheart (one of Ozpin’s closest confidants) then she can get to anyone and that is frightening.
This is why Robyn utilizes the Happy Huntresses. They are able to move outside the law and do the things she can’t (similar to Jim Gordon and Batman). She doesn’t want to condemn Ironwood because of all the good he’s done, but people are suffering and something needs to change.
Neither are wrong, but they can’t find common ground.
I’d position Robyn more as a fringe type of character. She doesn’t directly intervene in the plot, but you know she’s always there bidding her time until she can be more prominent.
I have more ideas for her, but this post is long enough as it is so let’s just end it here.
TLDR; Robyn Hill is a good character concept with horrible execution. Hopefully she will be somewhat better utilized in future volumes, or kill her off at the start of V8. At this point I’m good with either.

Please, please, please publish Abby’s new diatribe as I have apparently been blocked (or perhaps just don’t know enough about tumblr to find it). I’m dying to see what she worked on for two months to justify her existence!
Anonymous said: Oh dear, looks like Abby’s family didn’t get her help after all, a lost cause then, what an absolute waste of a life. It’s actually sad. A shame her family didn’t get her help
Le sigh...she is not well. She hasn’t learned one thing while she’s been away and she still has the exact same grievances- mostly about how much she hates Mia and how much she feels sorry for herself because we aren’t lapping up her fantasy and showering her with adoration for being the leader of the ccship. Her main complaint, the reason she popped back in to write the same tired complaints and criticisms, is that she’s tired of people blaming Darren for the ccsituation. It’s always about her love for ccDarren and her need to absolve him of all responsibility for all of the things the cc fandom dislike about him and his life. IT’S ALWAYS MIA’S FAULT and the defacto fandom leaders aren’t reminding everyone “it’s never Darren’s fault” and “always blame Mia’s”.
She lashes out to criticize the “hate blogs” but ultimately she blames Ricky and Mia for EVERYTHING including the “attack on her family” (which of course, was NOT an attack on her family, it was a plea for her family to get her some help).  She claims “they” tried to shut her up and then lists all the evidence that “they” tried to end her blog:  HER copyright strikes (lots of us have one) and the “hate” blogs before listing individual grievances against several bloggers, amping up the grievance for dramatic effect and making it seem like they were coordinated, well-planned attacks against her. She negates her own part e.g. I published the photo ONLY after she dared me to several times. All of this because  “If this is what they were willing to do to me, a mere fan, imagine what they are well to do to him, their absolute life sources?” “They” aka Mia and Ricky.
I found it hard to read. She’s not in a good place.
***************************************
Hello CCLand!  Have you missed me?  I know I have missed you all.  This post is not me coming back, frankly, I still have not decided how I want to navigate the future, but for the past 2 months all of this has been festering inside, so I need to post and make a few points.
First and foremost, I want to say that I am incredibly proud of my blog. I spent 5 years building a relationship with my readers and trying to provide a voice for 2 people who have been marginalized and frankly had their voices largely muted. I will never apologize for this or feel bad about it. Nor will I feel bad about pointing a finger at people that I know are truly evil.
I am far from perfect and I admit, I made 2 massive errors.  I overshared because I was naive and never thought the information would be used against me.  And I did not pay enough attention to the hate blogs and their threats.
This was a blog that I started when I first learned about CC and frankly it grew out of love and a need to try to bring justice to a person that is absolutely a victim of a completely antiquated and abusive system.  Further, I don’t THINK D is closeted, I KNOW D is closeted.  And I have substantial facts to back up that statement.  I never intended to become the most read CC blog or to meets so many wonderful an amazing people that I admire, but that is what happened and that has given me great joy.
But with the good comes the bad, and what happened to me is absolutely sick and depraved.  And I am writing this post in hopes that someone will read it and see just how fucked up the behavior of a few “fans” has been towards me and to help them to extend this to what has been done to D and C.  Please do not feel sad for me, or send me sympathy, it is not my point.  But I hope that perhaps it will inspire some of you to be more active and to fight a little harder as I try to navigate the harassment that occurred to my family.
Pretty much since I started to write, I have been receiving hate, something to be expected when you join a fandom like this. But at some point, it became much more frequent and took a turn from manageable hate to harassment and bullying.  In October of 2017, I got my first ask with my full name and from that day forward there has been an active attempt to try to bullying me off the internet. Now ask why that is?  I am just a fan, with what most think is a crazy belief, with a relatively small following. I do not and have not tagged the players nor do I contact them directly. I have never been anything but incredibly polite to  D and C, and frankly I have ignored M whenever I have been in her presence because she is not worthy of my time or energy. I have never reached out to them over SM to make one statement about fandom. So why such an effort to silence my voice?  Especially if it is as insignificant as they claim?
They tried deleting my blog, that failed. They tried with copyright infringements but I got smarter about making sure to post links.  So, what did they do?  They started with vicious attacks on my character on their hate blogs. Posting my full name and image.  Analyzing every word i wrote, desperately trying to debunk me, stating that i had severe mental health issues.  Tagged C, W, and A/lla to warn them about my presence at a book signing.  They stalked my friends and I at a festival, made false accusations, and published a photo. This meant that had to seek us out, locate where we were sitting and wait for a moment when they could get an image that they could twist to their favor.  That is insane. And there is no way to twist it to say its normal or expected.
But that apparently was enough harassment.  They threatened my work and my career.  Next, they started to stalk my family on the internet and use a devastating injury and a charity to harass and bully my family to the point that I did have to make the painful decision to not just stop posting but to protect my blog. This is completely vile and inexcusable behavior.  And the fact that it was not stopped, is a strong statement about the people clearly in control.
Why am I recounting? Because I want people to wake up and stop blaming D for every twist and turn.  If this is what they were willing to do to me, a mere fan, imagine what they are well to do to him, their absolute life sources? I am just another body left behind in the carnage, D is their source of money and fame. And not just his team and his “bride” but all of the people that have ridden his coattails to have name recognition.
I wish people would realize this is not choose your own adventure book, D is a human who has been held against his will due to an enormous amount of power they clearly wield over him. How do you not see that if he could, he would end this?  This has not been about him being straight in so long, straight is how they control him and how they are able to make M relevant.
And if you though this was a choice, how were you not woken up in the days following his dad’s death? I would guess not 48 hours after he buried his father, he was dragged from his mother’s home, forced to play dress up and pose for a ridiculous, cruel and inhumane set of pics.  D has lied about many things, but never about his parents, he has always been nothing but reverent when he speaks about them and his love and respect for them is clear.
Clearly, I have not gone anywhere, and I am still watching and reading every word. I have actually been incredibly proud of D during the majority of press for HW.  He has made so many statements that are a foundation for the truth, including telling us that young actors do things that they later learn to regret, telling us that HW has not changed, and stating that the person you see has a story we will never know.
The press to legitimize and canonize M has been laughable and beyond transparent. It is so obvious this is on his list of required duties and the fact that they did not pause if for 1 week when his dad died is absolute proof that this is not a choice.
I do have to laugh at the irony of the d “quote” about fans being mean to his poor “wife” (that he himself has called a big girl).  So it is ok to bully a fan off the internet to the point that they stalked and harassed my family (and it does not matter if his was led by his team, her, her friends, or a fan in her name), but it is not ok for a small handful of fans to discuss the sad reality and point the finger at the truth?
Anyhow, this got way too long, but it has all been building up inside.  This blog was  such a massive part of my life and I miss it and you more than words can say. I encourage all of you to keep supporting these incredible men, I have no doubt they are worth it. I do think they next few months will bring about change, but what they change is, we still don’t know. I hope that D wins sooner than later. I am not certain how much longer he can be expected to sustain this weight.   If you reached this point, thank you for reading.    I am going back to my quiet corner now.

So I’ve spent the entire day going back to an old story I started rewriting from my first premise at age 13 when I first read The Hunger Games. And I thought I’d give people a basic idea of what it’s about:
Premise:
A future Britain (Now called Britannia once more) ravaged by a nuclear war, but the only functioning part of the world that is left, is ruled by a government of ex war criminals from the successful rebellion that ended and forced the previous rulers and their ancestors into different sectors. These new rulers control everything, from what you eat and where you work to what you call your children.
In the south and south west of the country of Albion, (the bottom part of what was England) there was a population problem, so that part of the country, has a rule of how many children you can have, with the minimum of two, unforced on the five sections in that part of the country, sectors, 1, 2, 4, 5, (sector 1= Salisbury, sector 2= Winchester, sector 2= Somerset 3= destroyed in the nuke fire and never rebuilt but was Cirencester, 4= Oxford, 5= Swindon). If you are found to have more than two children then, you have to choose to keep two and the other children are sent off to a facility in Londinium (London) to be trained to enter the Arena, a series of deadly trials that are specifically created to kill off these children, once they reach between the ages of 13-25 and is designed not to have any of the contestants come out alive.
The facility, is in lock down during the Trials as the building becomes the arena, and everyone who was not picked that year is transported underground to the bunker, the safety spot. Whilst day and night, the contestants are subjected to ‘trials’ or events that happen randomly designed to either kill you, or turn you against the other contestants, and hopefully enough so that they kill you! The final challenge usually is the toughest and where all the remaining contestants usually die.
The parents and families of the contestants aren’t usually told of their child’s means of death and are usually informed that they have died after the trials are over. The sectors absolutely hate the government for this but they can’t do anything about it out if fear of getting their children sent away.
Imogen Lockwood is the youngest of three and has spent most of her teenagehood in the facility. When she is picked to be part of that years trials at age nineteen, she has to survive horrors you could ever really dream of, despite knowing that the changes of her making it out are zero to none alone, for she promised her best friend Phoebe she would. The odds are stacking against her, as the days drag on, But when an alliance is formed between her and two other contestants. Maybe, just maybe, they have a chance of making it out and seeing the light of day once more?
Main characters (and character mood boards)
Imogen Pandora Lockwood:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imogen is the youngest of three siblings
She is 19
She was raised by her older half brothers Tristian and Percival from the age of nine, when their mother passed away from malnutrition.
She never knew her father as she was the result of an affair whilst her mum was still married to her abusive husband and father of her two older brothers.
She is originally from Sector 5 but at age 14 her middle brother Tristian was caught stealing honey from a farm that was intended as a birthday present for Imogen by patrol guards and found out he was not only brothers to Percival but had a younger sister. Just as he was about to be forced onto the train that would take him to the facility as punishment for his crime, Imogen took his place, citing that he had a job and it was her fault in the first place that he got caught.
She is very proficient at throwing knives, a hobby she picked up in the facility.
Even though she was of age to be picked for the arena she wasn’t selected until she was nineteen
She is selfless, understanding and a brave but she is sometimes rude due to her bad social skills.
She views herself as a murderer who caused her mum’s death
She has left side Hemiplegia and is deaf in her left ear.
Hector ‘Hooper’ Posthumus Larker
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hector is the son of the trial master, Solvig Blaze and the freaking woman who runs the country, therefore making him technically royalty but he absolutely hates the way his parents treat the populace and doesn’t want to be ‘royalty’ at all if that’s what it takes to rule.
He’s actually genuinely really nice and struggles to abide to the rules of the facility desire being part of the armed guard until he punished for this pacificim and thrown into the arena for it.
He had an identity crisis with what he believes in
He is 21
He wanted to become a doctor and did the necessary medical course but was forced by his father and mother to drop out so that he could do the necessary training requirements to set him on the path of one day running the trials.
He is thrown into the arena last minute after interfering with a thirteen year old getting beaten by the other guards.
He knew of Imogen through her eldest brother Percival who also worked at the facility.
Whilst she is living there he starts to develop a crush on her.
Hooper is his soldier code name.
One of the only people outside of Imogen’s family not to treat her differently due to her disabilities.
Achilles Edwards:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Achillies is Imogen’s (and then Hector’s) trainer for the trials.
He’s in his forties early
He is only a trainer because he was forced to be as punishment after being beaten to a pulp for something undisclosed. He resents the system because of his.
But he genuinely cares about the contestants but he goes tough on them.
He lived in sector five and knew of Imogen’s mum as they lived opposite each other but they never interacted as he was a couple of years older than her.
He wants to run off into the country and keep bees but he knows he won’t get very far.
He’s genuinely regarded as a good trainer within the grand scheme of things.
However none of the contestants he had trained has made it past the first week of the trials.
Other characters:
Elyan Lockwood- 26, and the eldest brother of the Lockwood family. Works in the Facility so that he could provide a better income for his younger siblings. He’s horrified to find Imogen at the facility and is eventually caught trying to get her out.
Tristian Lockwood- Tristian is the middle child of the Lockwood trio, at twenty five, he has a drinking problem, after turning to alcohol after the death of their mother and their increasing poverty. He spends all the money Elyan sends over on booze and therefore resorts to stealing for food. It is ultimately this act that gets his sister sent off to the facility.
Phoebe Icarus- 19 years old, and Imogen’s best friend in the facility. She’s the only reason why Imogen hasn’t made another escape attempt by herself yet. She’s not selected into the arena but watches on the screens from the bunker.
Jonah Rhodes- Phoebe’s ex and the idiot who tries constantly to get into knickers as he is under some delusion that Imogen’s previous defending of Phoebe in the break up meant that she wants him, when she couldn’t be any more uninterested.
Megara- the thirteen year old who causes Hector to be thrown into the trials. She bonds with both Imogen and Hector in the arena, they become kind of like defacto parents to the girl.
Cordelia Fritz- she’s twenty, and is the love interest of Phoebe.

My Opinion On “Kung Fu Panda: Paws of Destiny”
I decided to make this because I don’t a lot of people really talk about this series and I personally would like more people to know about it so more people can express their opinions on it
I’m going to list my pros and cons and then I’m going to state my overall opinion. There is no specific order for these lists. I’m adding them as soon as they pop into my head
Pros.
1. Po is not the entitled, lazy brat he was in “Legends of Awesomeness”. That alone is something I can gladly say about the show.
2. Sassy grandma panda is a delight.
3. I adore the use of songs with Chinese lyrics when doing montage sequences and one beautiful love song. It’s those little details that make me appreciate a series. Now if only I spoke Mandarin Chinese.
4. I only find 1 out of four of the Panda kids grating (more on that in cons). Nu Hai is my favorite.
5. I think the show has great antagonists, both the comedic and serious ones.
6. Mei Mei is a fabulous drama queen. Even though, I’m a Tipo shipper I’m not as bother with her conversing with Po. I find their interactions hilarious with how uncomfortable she makes him feel.
7. I personally like the use of the Four Constellations because I love Chinese mythology and I don’t mind the show having fantasy elements to it. After all, the first movie’s conflict ended with a magical equivalent of “pull my finger”.
8. The character models are leagues above the previous spinoff show on Nick.
9. I enjoyed binge-watching the whole season. However, I recommend you don’t do it all in one day. I feel it is best to space out the time you watch the episodes. I kind of got tired of the show after watching it all in one day. Then again, I was watching it during a time when I had booked schedule, so I didn’t allow myself breathing time for the show when I should of.
Cons:
No Furious Five and Shifu. I accepted the fact before watching the show that the Furious Five were probably not going to appear. That still doesn’t change the fact that it sucks that the Furious 5 didn’t interact with the Panda kids. I get that Po has to be the main teacher. I’m not asking them to be in all the episodes. I just feel that it would have been nice if the Furious 5 dropped by in one episode, tell the panda kids about their experiences in kung fu lessons, and drop by in the grand finale to help in the final battle. Heck, it would have been so easy to pick which Furious to help which student. Each would have had at least two of the Furious Five that would help them with one thing or another.
Nu Hai: Tigress (by default because she has an action figure of her) and Viper (she would help Nu Hai with flexibility and she is the closest thing to a dragon out of all the Furious Five).
Jing: Tigress (because she’s a tiger, I also feel this could cause a conflict with Nu Hai if Tigress started requiring to spend a little more time with Jing than her. Just something to challenge Nu Hai and Jing’s friendship. I just personally don’t like that in the show they’re best friends, but they don’t really show reasons why besides they’re both girls. Plus, the dragon and tiger are supposed to be rivals. so that would have been great for symbolism), Crane (He could have helped with her issues in confidence in her own abilities) and Mantis (Mantis is sort of the defacto healer of the group and could have helped her with patience about her powers).
Fan Tong: Crane (the closest thing to a phoenix in the group. Crane also could have help Fan Tong with his confidence issues), Viper (she could have helped him with his own bravery problems by talking about her own when she was younger), Tigress (She could have had a moment with Fan Tong that even the most hardcore of creatures can still be scared), and Monkey (I could see them practicing with staffs together to help him hone his skills with a sword).
Bao: Mantis (Given that he got the turtle, Mantis would be perfect in helping him with being patient and more precise. You know, because turtles are slow.), Monkey (He could talk to Bao about being more compassionate to other people and help Bao let go of his entitlement issues.)
Po would obviously still be their main teacher for all of the kids. It just would have been nice for them to drop by and give their own words of wisdom to the kids. Oh well, it didn’t happen so all we can do is just accept it and move on. Who knows, maybe we’ll be able to see them in season two (I won’t hold my breath on that though).
Lastly, Shifu was just as much of an influence on Po as Oogway was and I feel he deserves to be there to help the panda just as much as the dead tortoise. I would also love to see him banter with Mr. Ping and Li Shan as a sort of father ragtag group of friends or something. XD
2. I really could do without the use of modern quotes like “cuteness overload” or “I can’t even” in Ancient China. A character even mentioned pizza in one episode.
3. Bao is leaning towards to being basically LOA Po in child form and I hate it.
4. I can’t stand those cutesy rodents and their high pitched voices. How old are they supposed to be anyway?
5. Giant Spider, Nuff said. I can only suspend my disbelief so much for this show, but I can’t fathom this thing could ever exist in the official canon. At least this is just a noncanon spinoff like LOA.
6. Bunnidharma. I just found him really annoying and oddly designed because we already have a cuter design for rabbits. It doesn’t help that he is voiced by James Sie, Monkey’s VA in LOA.
7. A character mentioned a character called in Ke-Pa in the show. Please leave LOA out this, thank you. I don’t care if it turns out to be a different Ke-Pa, they knew what they were doing!
8. Some episode plots or arcs can be sort of predictable, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad it’s just something that could be improved upon.
Overall, “Kung Fu Panda: Paws of Destiny” is not perfect by any means. I found some things in this show grating when I binged the first season. I think it’s worth watching at least once to get a feel of the series. I personally liked the show and found some moments funny or interesting. My personal favorite scene is a scene with Mr. Ping, a cart, and a pink background.
Although, I won’t lie there will be moments in this show when you’ll probably be thinking how this is definitely something the Furious 5 and Shifu should have witnessed, especially the finale. I still like the show and the characters that already exist in it (except for Bao, Bunnidharma, and those annoying panda cub sized rodents). I only hope that more people will watch the series so we can get a season two. If anything, I just really want season two to happen in hope that maybe Shifu and the Furious 5 will finally make an appearance. If not, I will still in enjoy it for Po.
I hope this post made a difference for you in some way. Stay awesome!

Magicians s4 is garbage and here’s why. Spoilers.
Can we take a moment to appreciate just how bad Magicians s4 was, as a whole? I know, people are mad about the whole ‘going out of their way to hint at Eliot/Q for no reason when they had just as much of a connection as friends, just to upset the people that shipped it more when they killed Q’ but
Honestly, there’s so much more broken garbage about this season than just the one part of how it ended that the writers WANT us to talk about. So yes, let’s take a moment first to appreciate how the writers hate Quin and refused to let him grow as a character ever or give him the moments of success he had in the books, until they pointlessly murdered him instead of letting him finally be happy with the ending he should have gotten. It deserves derision.
But let’s focus on other things, too.
It’s long. It’s ranty. It’s going to rip apart season four and its finale and also touch on season three. It’s already tagged spoilers, but there’s more spoilers in here than out of the cut. Also, yes. We’re gonna talk about how the show pretends that it’s empowering females while it takes away all of their agency and makes them all about their men. And other hypocrisy.
First off. The fake female empowerment crap. And yes, it was so fake. We know it because the show itself utterly undermines and destroys it at the end of the season. Or sometimes literally right after they flex.
First: IT’S OKAY TO CALL MARGOT BY THE GENDER APPROPRIATE TITLE FOR ROYAL MONARCH OF A LAND. I know that by magical technicality she has to be ‘high KING’ (more on that later if I remember, because they actually ignore some of that) but there’s no reason Margot herself and other characters need to insist on ‘king’. Queen Regnant has the same ruling power and authority as a King Regnant. That’s why a non ruling Queen is called Queen Consort. Unless, of course, Magicians and SYFY are implying that Queen Elizabeth I and II are somehow inferior to King Edward and Henry the VIII(s) because they are only queens? Nevermind Elizabeth II has been queen so long her crown would have fossilized on her head by now if she wore it like fictional royalty always did.
Anyway.
Show. You’re not progressive because you have Penny smugly smile and say ‘let go of your cishet white boy bias, the main characters are the women’. You’re just obnoxious. Especially when Penny immediately finds out the cishet white boy he’s talking down to is actually his boss. Oof.
See, if you want us to believe other characters are actually the protagonists? You need to treat them like protagonists. You don’t do that, though. The only reason I remember the blonde librarian’s name is because it’s Zelda.
The episode builds up how important Fen is and how she has her own quest that will do something important, but what happens literally the very next episode? Oh right, Margot steps in and takes control of that, seizing the quest for herself. The only reasons I can presume this is for is #1 - the show writers despise the books and want to undermine everything about them, down to ensuring none of the humans get to rule Fillory even after they wasted multiple episodes democratically handing Margot the crown. Too bad for the talking animals, eh? and #2 to set up the sequel hook in the ending that, while interesting purely because it’s a Prince Caspian set up, was entirely unnecessary and could have been replaced by a series finale ending instead.
It actually makes no sense. Margot doesn’t contribute in any significant way she couldn’t have if she were still High King, because Fen could have done the entire black sand mission herself, because she is married to Eliot, remember, let’s not make fun of her feelings for him just because she’s not the main character (but she is! screeches smug penny!) - could she have seen the fairy? No, but she would have been able to work it out anyway, because it just wanted to help her. And here’s the kicker? The reason West Loria is against Fillory (aside from lol plot) is because OF FEN. Margot wasn’t ruling when Fillory chose the wrong side! Margot hasn’t weighed in at all, so why IN THE WORLD would this woman decide that she absolutely wouldn’t deal with any High King EXCEPT THE ONE WHO DID THE THING SHE DIDN’T LIKE?
Quick, tell me what Margot contributed to the plot from the point she left Fillory that Fen couldn’t have done, or that couldn’t have been accomplished by Margot still in Fillory.
Whoops, you’re out of time! There’s nothing. She did nothing of consequence that Fen couldn’t have done just slightly differently to suit her skills and actually justify the BS Penny spewed about her being a significant protagonist figure. Margot got swapped with Fen primarily because, no matter what self congratulatory subversive crap the show patted itself on the back with, Margot is actually a main character and Fen isn’t, so Margot needed to at least be near the action, and get her own quest, even if it was just taking Fen’s away from her. And also having a weird rushed romance with Josh for some reason. Who knows. I miss the genuine connection Margot and Eliot had for seasons that this season chose to throw away on a boring monster plot. I also miss Margot and Q’s friendship that this season ignored because we needed to focus on romance instead and pretend Margot doesn’t make friends.
Which reminds me, it’s super great how we went from Josh detesting Margot for making him help murder one of his only friends to Josh wanting to be her boyfriend because they share an STD. Really important and believable romance, there.
Kady also did fairly little from the point of that episode onward. They had to bring the Hedgewitches plot in to make her important, and even as the defacto ruler of the HW she still did very little except suggest that they could help the completely improbable ‘let’s just skip over the mechanics of making this work’ collaborative spell. And Alice and Julia already had the contacts to allow that to work anyway
ANYWAY MOVING ON
but not too far, because I need to talk about that awful red sand episode.
First, an aside: just because people liked your two musical episodes over the span of the entire series doesn’t mean you need to start stuffing singing into everywhere because ‘SINGING’
If only the problem with the episode was that the singing didn’t end with dancing Eliot. But no. This episode was PEAK fake female empowerment.
Margot finds a tribe of nomads who inexplicably choose to live in a desert that’s constantly trying to kill them. Every time women have an over the top emotional eruption (the show keeps saying ‘the tiniest bump’ or whatever but that’s a bunch of crap, it’s very clearly only when they have an eruption or tantrum), red sand appears and tries to kill them via possession. Men in the tribe protect them from this by jumping in the way and getting possessed instead, and then  USUALLY DIE because the method of fixing them is to effing stab them with double axes and pull out the spirit, then try to fix them with desert medicine.
Raised knowing that their lives are in constant danger, and that if they fly off the handle about something not only are they in danger but the men around them, whom they purportedly love, may very well die, the women of course are incapable of just controlling themselves and will erupt in rage regularly like some modern city girl even while being actively cautioned to calm down and knowing they’re endangering their entire settlement.
Upon hearing that men consistently risk their lives to protect their insane girlfriends who literally cannot control their emotions on pain of death, Margot concludes ‘wow, this culture is mighty misogynistic. sucks.’
but then, oh no. The sand isn’t trying to HURT them, the sand - for no reason anyone in the show bothers to explain, because world building isn’t important to the writers - it actually just wants the women not to be sad and will grant their any wish if one so much as has a temper tantrum. Trigger scene where Margot beats up all the evil menfolk for oppressing these poor, helpless, weak women who need a sassy foreign girl to save them from themselves and literal fairies to look after their every boo-boo. There’s brief lip service given to the idea that maybe the women themselves DON’T hate all the men around them, but Margot shrugs it off and suggests that now the women of the camp are free to literally murder any man who makes them mad, or ‘just’ force them to slave for them for however long they want.
PATRIARCHY DESTROYED, GUYS. EQUALITY ACHIEVED. MEN ARE NOW ENSLAVED AND KILLED OVER NOTHING!!! LOOK AT THE STRONG WOMEN WHO LITERALLY NEEDED A FOREIGN WHITE CHICK TO SHOW UP AND SAVE THEM SO THAT A WHOLE SPECIES OF FAIRIES COULD CONSTANTLY CODDLE AND LOOK AFTER THEIR EVERY NEED.
SO STRONG.
I’m not even joking, though. They tried to write a “YEAH! WOMEN!” plot but just made the women there look completely inept and incapable of fending for themselves at all without a smart American there to teach them. And that’s without getting into the horror of setting up a slave society where men are objects that can be killed on a whim. eugh.
Anyway, so Margot does all that and spends just...all season insisting WOMEN ARE STRONGER. WOMEN ARE TOUGH. WOMEN ARE STRONNGGG. DON’T NUTSACK OUT ON ME MAN. BE A PUSSY AND TOUGH IT OUT!!!!! OF COURSE THE WOMAN IS THE VIOLENT AND UNSTABLE ONE (wait--)
But where’s that all lead us to?
The season finale.
Before we dive too deep let’s take a brief moment to look at poor Julia through all this season.
#1, in some twist that doesn’t really make sense, the dean hides all of the main cast as alternate personalities under glamors with some heavy witness protection magic as a deal to the Library so they don’t have to die...and so naturally the Library has a dead or alive bounty on them.
huh?
Whatever, let’s not focus too hard on the garbage pail of a plot the monster plot is, because that’s tied into the huge dumpsterfire that season 3′s finale was, and the best to talk about that is how these smart and manipulative people literally couldn’t be bothered to lie to and trick a simple childlike monster into thinking he was their ACTUAL FRIEND no matter how often he looked for validation from them (maybe he wouldn’t have been so keen on clinging to Eliot if he thought you guys liked HIM, not just the body, you nimrods) and who began to get some development and understanding of living life normally without killing everyone right before they imprison him and send him to ultra-hell.
No it’s cool. Just imprison the childlike creature who you didn’t bother to try to teach morality to after it desperately sought some kind of affection and acceptance from literally anyone. Seems like the good guy thing to do. I mean, you showed that mean ol’ child molester by getting him to trust you, using his knowledge, and then literally trying to murder him, so honestly this isn’t out of character at all for our ‘good guys’.
a n y way. JULIA.
It’s hinted at in season 3 that burning up all your god magic to make keys is actually temporary (but renders you able to be killed, so season 4 literally got it opposite of right, whoops), so obviously Julia really wants to get that back. She’s been motivated and shaped by magic as much as Q. She has been raped, lost her shade, suffered, had people die protecting and helping her, and became a goddess entirely by her own merit. She reasonably wants to get that power back, since she can’t die and isn’t really affected by magic in a normal way so she’s not fully human still.
Julia rescues everyone from the mindwipe by dying literally hundreds, maybe thousands of times and coming back. She gets a Mainaid (who I don’t feel like spelling right) that comes to believe in her and worship her as a goddess, and what happens? Well, first Penny who wants to get his dick wet gets jealous and runs off because he’s not the center of her world for like an hour. Partly because of this, the girl whom she rescued from suicide gets pointlessly murdered protecting her.
But hey, they’ve confirmed Julia is still a deity mostly but just can’t seem to access her powers. So Julia keeps digging and looking for a way to get them back. This leads to discovering an ancient book in the mirror version of the library who confirms that yes, she’s basically a demigod who won’t ever die, but needs to complete the transition either back to full godhood or to full humanity or she’s always be a little wrong, basically like she dislocated her divine limb fixing the keys and it can either be put back in or chopped off.
Now, this book (the Binder) warns her that both options are going to be long and painful and have their downsides, and implies they’ll be permanent, so she’s going to have to be SURE of what she wants. This warning is the ONLY reason Julia doesn’t immediately jump to a decision. And then the Monster shows up and kidnaps her. She calls the Lady Underground, who is unhelpful and just says ‘gotta make a choice yourself girl, no wrong answer’ and then the lady gets herself killed for no reason after Julia is immediately possessed.
Penny ‘rescues’ her by stabbing her in the back to pull the spirit out, and then blah blah her demigodhood doesn’t like that stabby thing, and it won’t let her die but also won’t heal. Solution? Make the choice and go full god or human and it’ll fix. Naturally, even though Julia’s been awake this whole time, she’s now unconscious ‘for the pain’ and Penny who is A POWERFUL TELEPATH can’t be bothered to pop in her head and ask what she wants under those circumstances.
no, he makes her decision FOR her. This is important, we’ll get back to this.
Penny has been chasing Julia(’s tail) around all season now. He’s been a part of her path to godhood this whole time, knows what she’s done to try to get it, so when forced to make a permanent choice for her
THIS
DICKHEAD
CHOOSES TO MAKE HER HUMAN. Against EVERYTHING he’s seen of her up until this point, and against whatever he knew of his Julia. Why? “I was selfish” WELL THANK YOU, MISTER “I JUST WANNA GET LAID” FOR AT LEAST ADMITTING YOU ROBBED A WOMAN OF SOMETHING SO UNBELIEVABLY SIGNIFICANT AND IMPORTANT AND LITERALLY LEFT HER WITHOUT MAGIC BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO STICK IT IN.
That’s right. Fandom’s all mad that Quentin died and they glorified suicide? Yeah, they just stripped away ALL AGENCY from a woman and made a choice for her that he KNEW she didn’t want just because it would be more convenient for him. Just violate the trust and remove the agency of the woman you already raped on screen once, show. Seems smart. Plus, now she does nothing for the rest of the episode and gets unfairly saddled with the guilt of Q’s demise because you just had to hamfist in his death.
ohoho but it doesn’t end there, no.
Penny, a man, takes away everything Julia earned HERSELF and locks away her path back to godhood (despite book Julia staying a goddess and becoming a Dryad) and then leaves her helpless and pointless sitting at home hoping everyone does okay, wrestling with her new existential crisis of being a weak, magicless human after all she did to get magic in the first place...and then Quentin dies, and because she’s so sad about him, suddenly she can do magic again! Weird internal consistency there considering how little is present in s4.
So Julia goes from a self-made woman, whose primary connections outside of her childhood friend are other women, to a woman whose whole life is now dictated by men. Important choices are made for her, she is passive in a crisis about her friends, and then her breakthrough to regain magic is...because of a man.
(BTW Kady also breaks down and decides she’s all about Penny, even though she’s kind of already worked through this last year and had plenty of other stuff to do this season)
And since I’m talking about consistency, let’s glance at THAT can of worms, shall we?
First and foremost: the High King of Fillory shouldn’t be able to leave Fillory. Remember when that was a huge plot point that caused great angst for Eliot in season 2? And how it only stopped because magic went away so the spells involved no longer worked?
Let’s assume Margot was grandfathered out into the normal world, and further assume that an election still makes her High King, not Eliot. As soon as Ember’s Emanation snapped her back into Fillory, she shouldn’t have been able to leave until MAYBE she was ‘overthrown’ (which might have given a REASON for her to be overthrown, if her location on earth mattered)
Yet that’s not a concern at all. Margot also doesn’t really bother to rule much so. sucks. but whatever. Clearly they just wanted King Fen here. (Again, ‘king’, because ‘queen’ is weak somehow. ew girls.)
NEXT
Eliot. How do you mess up Eliot when he’s in like three episodes and barely in two of those? I don’t know but they did it.
Here’s the problem with his ‘darkest memory’ thing. It’s not that Eliot might have feelings for Q, this surprises NO ONE, it’s everything else about it.
First. Puzzle Quentin marries PEACH GIRL. He’s not married to Eliot, they just share an extremely deep bond. It’s pretty much explicitly nonromantic though, given that Quentin marries and breeds with some girl he never mentions nor appears to mourn again. He’s hit with a lifetime of feelings, and instead of thinking “I had a wife...and a child...what happened to my child?” he thinks “Gee, I should hook up with Eliot even though I’m bicurious at best.”
This. This is while he is self-professed to be in love with Alice, around the time of his fling with Poppy, and again, right after finding out he was married, widowed, and a father. This is when the writers decided to stage “Once, Quentin wanted to marry Eliot.” It just makes Quentin look fickle, unfaithful, and frankly some kind of addicted to relationships, like he’s terrified of not being in one.
But it’s also? Not a good look for Eliot. Because this season basically MOCKS his marriage to Fen. He’s shown to be affectionate to her, she is in the trio of the people that he loves (Margot, Quentin, and Fen) who he summons to protect him, but very very very little is spoken or suggested by him to be missing her or wanting to see her again, and more importantly, it doesn’t ring true for him to be ‘afraid of commitment’ or whatever it is he was suggesting by rejecting Q here.
Why? Because he already did this arc. Season 2 is all about him accepting his role of King (which they take away because lol) and more importantly, his marriage to Fen. He has to learn to accept monogamy and actually build feelings for Fen, eventually starting a family with her - that is tragically ripped from him by the Fairies. He then spends s3 with Fen as his wife and with a fake daughter, adventuring and questing and crap, and during the time the scene is set very clearly fine with commitment, as he’s actually in love with Fen at this point and not running away from the marriage. During this time he’s also totally cool with marrying another king for peace because he likes that guy, but I guess we should forget him because...I don’t know? He’s black, maybe?
By the way, he mentions how he ‘has sex with people’s boyfriends’ and shows the scene of his doppel getting it on with someone who has a boyfriend and ignores that he is actively cheating on Fen while he is doing this.
And the show makes fun of Fen mourning the death of her husband, and also implies something like Fen maybe didn’t really love him because she didn’t see herself as a person and was only raised ‘for the high king’ (nevermind she used to be a FU Fighter, they forgot), and that she’s dealt with losing her child TWICE now. Nah, she’s mostly for laughs because DAGGERS.
This is all done just to diminish Eliot/Fen so they can pretend Quentin was in a triangle with Eliot and Alice literally just to make it more sad when he dies unbelievably pointlessly.
Gosh.
Am I forgetting anything? Hm.
The library plot was garbage, but that ties into the dumpsterfire of s3 finale.
Oh yes. Isn’t it great when Marina is just a repeated trope forever? Ah, yes. Me too. I love when characters are super flanderized instead of being allowed to grow and change. All characters in Magicians basically just need to spin their wheels and retrace steps over and over until they die.
Ah yes.
Quentin, thy name is hypocrisy. You’ve been abusive to Alice for three seasons, and then you have the nerve to freak out at her over the keys? Sure it was a dick move, but honestly this only happened because you kept abusing Alice and manipulating her into loving you over and over. Because you’re a dick.
And let’s close out on that, I think, not on a bizarre rendition of Take on Me.
Alice, ex-Niffin, smartest and most talented and most capable mage they know, does not get any say when Quentin stupidly kills himself (by the way he only dies because for reasons known only to the writers he STOPS running and just stands there until he dies). She doesn’t throw the thing in WITH Quentin stopping the crisis before it happens (why were they moving so slowly when there was such a short timeframe? Just LOB EM IN, MAN! Alternatively wtf was the library still forcibly shorting people when there was a universal crisis and Zelda KNEW IT?)
Nope.
Our girl power season ends like this:
Julia loses her agency and has her life defined by the two main men in her life
Alice has no agency in how things play out in the mirror and has her life defined by the two (same) men in her life
Margot is told to ‘go cry outside or something’, and has fallen in love with a random white dude because she banged him once rather than literally let him die. This is character development, because none of the other relationships she’s ever had matter or affected her because they weren’t a romance.
Kady decides to define her life around the (dead) man in her life, until the other man in her life makes her realize he needs her still.
Fen is overthrown by some man offscreen
Zelda refuses to own up to the Library’s problems and try to fix them herself, and instead decides she’s going to pick someone else to do it for her. Also arguably she just sat back and let two men decide how the world would play out.
But it’s okay, guys. The Magicians is very subversive and not like other shows. The white cishet men aren’t main characters, and they proved that because Quentin died, and that’s WAY more subversive than the books, where everyone gets stories and endings that ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE FOR THEM and Quentin actually gets to eventually be happy.
But it’s not a suicide, because Quentin’s friends love him and therefore he had a good thing going, and Quentin has never ever missed or thrown away a good thing before.
Remember guys
it’s really realistic, because ANYONE CAN DIE IN REAL LIFE GUYS
OH MY LORD JUST GIVE US THE EMMY AND TELL US WE’RE PROGRESSIVE, PLEASE. WE’RE ALMOST THERE!
That’s season 4 of Magicians.
It’s bad.

Supernatural Series Finale: How to Wrap Up 15 Years of Story
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This Supernatural article contains MAJOR spoilers for the series finale. Obviously.
It’s hard to believe it, but Supernatural has come to an end. We had our theories about what might happen in the 15-season show’s ender, but Supernatural kept us guessing right until its final moments. “Carry On” is essentially a forty-minute epilogue to tie up loose ends after the definitive battle against God. It serves its purpose of bringing the series full circle to its humble beginnings: Sam gets his normal life. Dean goes out as a hunter. They reunite to keep riding that road together… in heaven. If you are having trouble (emotionally) processing everything that went down in the series’ final hour or you’re just not ready to let go of this show yet, here’s an explainer of everything that went down in the Winchesters’ final ride…
The Supernatural Series Finale Calls Back to the Beginning
Interestingly, the Supernatural ending episode plot centers around a normal hunt: a gang of kidnapping, masked vampires that Daddy Winchester had investigated years ago. There’s something poignant in being bested by a classic villain mentioned in Dad’s journal, something they often referenced in the early seasons. (Not to mention that Season 1’s Jenny is part of the group.) Things don’t play by the same rules though because Team Free Will were victorious against Chuck’s plans. There’s no more “get out of jail free” cards, no more divine intervention or “I’m Batman!” lucky pen throws. This is real, and for the first time in a long time, death is final. But it’s not the end.
There are so many references to the early days in this episode, including details like the zippo lighter Sam uses at the hunter funeral, to Harvelle’s Roadhouse making an appearance at the end. There’s a grudging lack of Ellen, Jo, and Ash, but that was a recurring issue with many guest characters who could have made a cameo.
Who Returns for the Supernatural Series Finale?
Many beloved characters were missing from this ending, from the aforementioned Harvelles to Mary and John Winchester to Castiel and Jack. This could be for a number of reasons. In interviews, showrunner Andrew Dabb explained that COVID lead to some changes in production. From these interviews we can ascertain that more people would have been involved with the finale, but in order to keep episodes tight and more COVID-restriction compliant, some of these other character appearances probably had to be sacrificed. In any case, it’s good that Bobby made the cut. He was more of an emotional attachment for fans, and had way more screentime than John while acting as the defacto father figure for years.
Dean Dies in the Supernatural Series Finale
No matter what, everyone can’t be happy with an ending to such a long running show. One major contentious point is Dean’s death. The main character is fatally stabbed during a fight with the aforementioned vampires, pushed against a wooden post and impaled by a metal rod. Before he goes, Dean says goodbye to his brother, saying: “Hey, I’m not leaving you. I’m gonna be with you. Right here. Every day. Every day you’re out there and living and you’re fighting—because you always keep fighting, you hear me? I’ll be there. Every step.”
But Dean’s story doesn’t end with death. We see him arrive in heaven, and reunited with Bobby. This heaven is a place where with “everyone happy, everyone together.” For Dean, it also includes Harvelle’s Roadhouse and Baby. Dean’s parents and Rufus live nearby and, as Bobby tells Dean: “It ain’t just heaven, Dean. It’s the heaven you deserve.”
Driver Picks the Music
One of the most famous music riffs in the series is what I’ve always dubbed the “sad Supernatural theme” which is really called “Americana.” The theme is usually played slow, in piano, underpinning the most heart wrenching scenes at the biggest moment of loss. Obviously it’s used to its tear-jerking potential over Dean’s final words to Sam, but the theme resurfaces, changing its meaning. For Sam and Dean’s final embrace of the episode on that bridge, “Americana” is played via electric guitar, in a more upbeat, uplifting tone. The theme has become triumphant, and indicative of a job well done for these weary hunters.
One can’t talk Supernatural music without rejoicing in the liberal use of Kansas’ “Carry On Wayward Son” for the ending scenes. This song has always resonated strongly with fans, from its initial use in the season one finale Salvation to its subsequent appearance in every season finale since. Not only does the musical group share the name of the state the boys hail from, the lyrics in this progressive rock masterwork always seemed to perfectly line up with the story Supernatural was telling.
The lyrics “On a stormy sea of moving emotion/Tossed about, I’m like a ship on the ocean/I set a course for winds of fortune” easily translates to the boys’ eternal fight against their supposed destiny. The line “Surely Heaven waits for you” is a promise fulfilled.
From their biggest tragedies to the hopeful optimism that would finally be peace when they were done, this song meant more than a tune you could tap a toe to. It was the musical embodiment of the heart of this show.
Metallicar
You couldn’t have Supernatural without the other main character since the pilot — Baby the Impala. Both Sam and Dean have plenty of scenes with the car when they are separated by Death, but a fun nod to the fans is in the details.
In Heaven, Dean drives the original version of the Impala, with the Kansas KAZ 2Y5 plate. Sam drives the Impala with the new Ohio license plate CNK80Q3. The plate had changed in the show after the Winchesters were arrested in Folsom Prison Blues at the end of Season Two. What had been a way for the boys to evade the law became a neat bit of trivia the fans have stored away all this time.
“This is Dean’s Other Other Phone”
Dean tells Sam to “Always Keep Fighting” which rings so true because it’s the name of Jared Padalecki’s real life charity T-shirt campaign, the proceeds of which went to programs dedicated to mental health, including To Write Love on Her Arms and The Wounded Warrior Project. In a way, Dean is also telling the fans to keep fighting, to not despair at the end.
Sam is obviously in a funk after all this takes place, going through the motions in a haze, tearfully petting Miracle while feeling the emptiness of the bunker. It’s when Dean’s phone — his other other phone — rings that he’s put back on his path to keep fighting. A werewolf attack in Austin, Texas — notably the city that Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles both live in real life.
The “other other” phone has only really been on the show as a voicemail recording Sam gets when all other contact options have been exhausted, and Dean must be in trouble. The fact that we finally see the phone in this episode, and it’s Sam that answers? It’s showing that Sam is the one to carry on.
Sam Has a Family
You can be a “Sam girl” or a “Dean girl” (or guy) but there’s a reason Sam was the surviving brother. Sam had to “carry on” because he was the one who could. When Dean went to Hell all those years ago, or even in the episode when the Trickster had him die over and over, finally leaving Sam to wander on his own for some time, Sam’s had a lot of experience being the one left behind. He learned to carry on from these experiences, as hard as it must be. Sam completes his own character arc, effectively picking back up where he left off and having a family with some out-of-focus-in-the-background wife.
Sam Joins Dean in Heaven
Years later, after living a long life, Sam dies and joins his brother in heaven. Here, the end mirrors the beginning. In the pilot, Dean picks Sam up from school in order to find Dad, thereby starting their 15-year journey. In Heaven, Sam ends up joining Dean again and they both happen to be wearing the same clothes as in the pilot: Sam, a tan jacket over blue t-shirt and Dean, a dark jacket over a red plaid shirt.
They reunite on a bridge. One of the most pivotal moments of the pilot episode was when they saw the Woman in White on the bridge. This time, it’s a brightly lit sunny day, but a bridge between the pilot and finale seems oh so perfect.
Heaven was self-contained before Jack “made things right.” Simply a rehash of your greatest memories playing over and over, yet so singularly lonely since everyone had their own version of Heaven. As Sam joins his brother, you get the sense that they’ve done their work and things are truly, finally, at peace.

Was the Supernatural Series Finale Good?
It ain’t easy wrapping up a popular series after fifteen years. Not everyone will be happy, but the finale did find a way to pay homage to the beginning while bringing it all to a bittersweet end. In a sigh of relief, the show exemplifies that there really is peace to strive for after all. No matter the end, fans have fifteen years of show to look back on, meta episodes to laugh at, monsters to creep you out, and enough chick flick moments to make Dean blush. There’s a lot to love there, and at the core of it all is family. And family don’t end with blood.

Part 60 Alignment May Vary: Finished with One, Starting Another
Tumblr media
When last we left our would-be heroes, they had come out of the house they had just finished fighting the last of the Dragonlords in. Bloody and exhausted they stumbled onto the street outside only to find themselves surrounded by the remainder of the horde.
Row after row of goblins looked on at them, though when they began speaking it was not about the two heroes, but about the slain Black Beast at their side: “The Beast has fallen...” The Goblins looked different, too. This entire battle, Nysyries had only seen them enraged to a literally rabid froth. She had seen them tear men limb from limb in a frenzy of blood lust. An insight struck her then and she grabbed Aldric’s arm:
“It was the Beast. Something about it drove them mad!”
The Hobgoblin lieutenants arriving on the scene behind the Goblins seemed to realize something was wrong. One shouted out something in Goblin. Another raised his whip.
The Goblins turned as one and set upon them. The cries of the Hobgoblins were full first of indignation, then rage, then fear. But the carnage did not last long and soon the Goblins were looking for more targets. And there were Nysyries and Aldric, bloody and too weak to fight back. The Goblins advanced.
... and were cut down as riders hammered past the two heroes and slammed into the horde with blades flashing in the light of the fires burning all over the city. “Follow me!” cried Xaviee from atop the lead steed. “For Vraath Keep! For Brindol!” The Lion guard riding behind him echoed the cry, though it was soon drowned out by the frantic yelling of the Goblins as they struggled to flee the riders.
The trumpets blared victory. The remaining enemy poured out of the gates. The defenders cried out that the day was won.

What to do Next?
I had always planned for the Battle of Brindol to be the defacto ending of my Red Hand of Doom Campaign and the Fane of Tiamet to be the transition into something quite different. I’ll talk about that “something different” in a second.
First, I wanted to thank everyone who has read this far. Just covering the Red Hand material alone has taken up 86,453 words. Along the way, I’ve tried to give advice on how to convert the adventure into fifth edition. I veered wildly off course at some point as the campaign became more and more my own, filled with my own twists and catered to the stories and styles of my own group. Maybe that in itself is the greatest lesson: the best thing a DM can do in any adventure is to pay attention to his/her adventurers and to let things veer off course if that’s what feels right.
I’ve also learned a lot about converting from the two editions in general while doing this campaign and as a result created some much more “official” conversions for one of my favorite pathfinder adventure paths, the Carrion Crown. You can find the links to my continuing efforts on those adventures here.
That said, while maybe I wasn’t able to do an exact conversion for Red Hand of Doom, I hope that my playthrough was at least useful in offering advice on each section and giving some examples of how to run things to make them go more smoothly. And, barring that, I trust it was at least an enjoyable read.
Now I have one last piece of advice: if you intend on ending your campaign after Red Hand of Doom, then don’t go to the Fane of Tiamet. Whether The Fane of Tiamet is a slog--a fairly uninteresting dungeon crawl through numerous out-of-place demons--or a decent dungeon that ties together the final steps of Azor Khul’s plan and culminates in a satisfying boss fight is beside the point. The real problem with it is that it comes after the Battle of Brindol, which is the lynch pin of the entire campaign.
The Battle of Brindol is such a high point in the campaign. Whether this city stands or falls is on the shoulders of the players. Everything that has happened up to that point boils down now to whether the players can survive and emerge victorious in the horde’s push against humanity and the forces of good. If the players fall in the battle, at least it is a glorious fall. And if they succeed, it is a natural end point to the campaign. This is believed to be the case by so many DMs that one of the most common changes I see suggested for running Red Hand of Doom is to replace the final fight against the “who is this guy?” at the Cathedral with Azor Khul himself and have done with it.
The Fane, after all that, is just another excuse to kill the players.
So the only reason to use The Fane is as a stepping off point to something else. If you do decide to take your party there, consider how it can serve not as the ending to Red Hand of Doom (which as stated should be the Battle of Brindol), but as the beginning of something else...
Maybe the Fane turns out to be just one of many Fanes, one for each head of Tiamet, and they all have to be shut down, all across the world.
After defeating the Aspect of Tiamet, maybe the players are pulled with it into the Nine Hells, where they now have to figure out a way to survive long enough to make it back to their homeworld. Along the way, they are recruited into the everlasting war between Demons and Devils.
The players reach the Fane and defeat Azor Khul, but never face off against the Aspect. Why? Because the fight against Azor Khul is a part of the Hobgoblin mastermind’s ultimate plan, the final steps. While he distracted the players, Tiamet has emerged in her full glory into the Material Plane and now an entire new campaign must begin against the Mother of Dragons.
I have my own idea for how the Fane will lead to a new campaign, one I’ve been working on for over a year. The remainder of this post will be dedicated to the set up for that and future posts will begin the fourth season of my campaign journal, called “Spelljammer.”
And so this marks the end of the Red Hand of Doom campaign journal. Overall, I enjoyed a lot of what the campaign tried to accomplish, though I think more than just numbers need to be updated to make the conversion work. The design of the adventure surprised me with how focused it was on combat over roleplay and its pacing suffers a lot throughout the adventure.
The opening is great, with the players having to clear out Drellin’s Ferry before the arrival of the horde. It sets up a very clear and present villainous presence and a solid goal for the players. And if you count the Battle of Brindol as the ending, it serves as a wonderful conclusion to this threat, mirroring the events in Drellin’s Ferry only this time the players are strong and experience enough to stand against the horde. It creates a wonderful sense of character growth and completes a very clear arc.
Compared to that, the middle sections are weak, hampered by a lack of clear explanation for why the players are going to these places. If I were to run the adventure again, I would have the players protect the people of Drellin’s Ferry until they reached Brindol and then Brindol would become a home base from which to strike out at the horde. Here they would learn through spies that the horde was maintaining two strongholds where they were producing weapons for attacking Brindol: one in the old Kingdom of Rhest and one in the Thornwaste. Not only would this set these quests up like tactical strikes, with the players knowing why they were going to these locations ahead of time and what basically to expect, but it would also give them a chance to form relationships in Brindol before the climatic battle, making the events of that Battle feel all the more personal.
In the end, I think most of what I gained out of Red Hand of Doom as written was inspiration. We managed to have a solid campaign despite the way it was laid out and a lot of this came from me adding material based on little hints within the material that were never officially expounded upon. The Lady Dagger plotline, for instance. I found the best success with Red Hand of Doom came from not being afraid to use the material as a jumping off point, as something to inform a greater story and a greater world.
Which is what I’m about to do with the Fane.

Sidetracked
The aftermath of the Battle is a time for celebration and for mourning, in equal measure. We take into account the sheer scope of the victory: the heroes have, on their own, defeated the three most powerful lieutenants of the horde and crippled its main force. They are awarded medals of valor, declared lords, and given the titles “Heroes of Brindol.”
Also to be celebrated is the ascension of Xaviee Domico, officially, to the Lordship of Vraath Keep. This is a little emotional for me as a GM, because it completes a storyline begun all the way back with Tywin. Xaviee was simply a throw-away NPC that tied Tywin’s past into the present but he grew into a formidable presence in the main storyline. Seeing the Wytchwood reclaimed by the forces of good was the goal of Tywin and it brings a touch of nostalgia for me, especially as that player is no longer gaming with us. No matter how things fell out between us all, I raise a glass to you, sir, in appreciation of seeing Tywin’s dream completed.
Another character who began as a random name for an NPC they did not defeat in combat was Aldric Alwright, now being played by the same player who brought to life Shando and Traki and Abenthy. He brings the same gravitas and complexity to Aldric as he did his previous characters and some of our best post-battle scenes come from him. First, he is present when Lord Jarmath gets news of Tredora’s death. Jarmath flies into a rage, railing against the city that let his love fall, damning them and her god to hell for their failure to save her. But Aldric calms him, first with sharp words (”this is not behavior becoming of a lord”) and then with a soft brotherly embrace during which both men shed tears (”she would want you to be better than that”).
Aldric also visits the battlefield outside of the city, where the cavalry under his command followed him into death against the Behir, Varanthian. Here, Aldric says a prayer that he learned from the Green Company, urging the souls of the fallen to find peace and to move on to the afterlife. As he intones the prayer he distinctly hears the horns of the Green Company and hears their long-dead voices speaking the words along with him. Then he gathers his belongings and decides it is time to find Varanthian, who escaped, and end this long search for revenge. And he believes he knows who to talk to.
Having done a little digging after the battle, Aldric was able to discover, if not the identity of the strange visitor he had prior to the fight who offered him Varanthian’s location in return for Lord Jarmath’s death, at least his most likely employer. Lady Kaal, one of the ruling council of Brindol, whom with Aldric has shamelessly flirted (with no return on his advances) and whom he now has learned is the secret ruler of the thieve’s guild in town and who has a less-than-secret rivalry with Jarmath.
Lady Kaal’s mansion is in the Eastern part of the city, the part that was furthest from the city and the only part completely untouched by the ravages of the Battle of Brindol. Kaal, surrounded by bodyguards and minions, does not seem surprised to see Aldric and the two engage in a wonderful exchange of words that is 2 parts veiled menace and 1 part questioning accusation. Most of the menace belongs to Kaal. The best accusations come from Aldric.
After failing to get Lady Kaal to admit to knowing the Green Garbed Man (as we have come to call the mysterious stranger who approached Aldric) he does at least get her to seem uncomfortable as he questions her about the desired murder of Lord Jarmath. Lady Kaal does keep her cool for the most part though and never rises to the bait Aldric lays, only betraying herself through small flickers of her eyes and twitches in her fingers. She makes another proposal to Aldric:
“I do not know who this man who approached you was, but I do believe I know the information he knew and can pass it on to someone who I trusted.”
“And how would someone go about gaining your trust, my lady? Aside from the, ahem, services I’ve already put at your disposal.” Aldric cocked an eyebrow and stared significantly downwards towards his codpiece. When he looked up, smiling devilishly, he was met only with a cold stare, however.
“You misunderstand me. The service has to be something I actually want,” Kaal said scathingly. “And I wouldn’t set a man to do a task he couldn’t complete.”
Even Aldric had to admit to himself, that one stung a bit. Lady Kaal continued...
“With the time for war done, I begin to believe that Lord Jarmath’s time is also coming to a close. Rumor is spreading about how he took poor Tredora’s death. I’m not sure I trust a man so roiled by emotions to lead in a time of peace.”
“You have someone else in mind?”
Lady Kaal’s smile was all teeth, white and straight. “As a matter of fact, I do.”
The agreement that the two come to is this. Lady Kaal will be throwing over a dozen parties around town tonite to mourn the dead and celebrate the living. Most everyone remaining in the city, as well as those trickling back in, will be in attendance. Kaal wants Aldric to attend as well and to suggest to whomever will listen that a change in leadership is needed and to suggest Lady Kaal might be up to the task of ushering in an age of peace, while Lord Jarmath should be condemned for failing to lead properly during the battle. With Aldric’s newfound fame and position, Lady Kaal knows that his word will carry enough weight for her to do the rest of the work herself to change the leadership of Brindol. In exchange, if she feels he has spoken enough on her behalf, she will gift him the location of Varanthian’s lair.
While Aldric is pondering all of this throughout the remainder of the day, he and Nysyries are called into Lord Jarmath’s presence.
Jarmath has disturbing news for the two of them. Clearly unsettled, he tells them that they captured some of the Hobgoblin captains during the battle and questioned them. While the Hobgoblins did not survive the questioning, they did divulge that another horde would soon be raised and sent on to Brindol and that this risk would exist as long as their enigmatic leader, Azor Khul, survived “in the Fane.”
What is the Fane? It is a legendary place in the Elsir Vale, a hidden valley deep in the western mountains of which little is known as no one who ventures there ever returns. Ever. Still, despite their services rendered to the city, Lord Jarmath must ask of the two heroes of Brindol: will they go there and end the threat that is Azor Khul?

Beginning Anew
The night’s festivities go well, for the most part. The party meets someone new, a paladin named Carrick who was, until the Battle of Brindol, considered the hero of Brindol. A little perturbed at having his title replaced, but more curious about the two heroes who have saved the town, he decides to volunteer to accompany Aldric and Nysyries to the Fane. He is a half elf, fairly quiet, very straightforward, and radiating an air of power.
Nysyries gets drunk with Immerstal the Red, who accidentally sends himself into an unknown dimension when he drunkenly enters his pocket brothel without actually removing it from his pocket first, folding space time around him and disappearing.
Aldric spends the night trying to play both sides, backing lady Kaal without disparaging Lord Jarmaath. His efforts just barely succeed and the town’s feelings begin to shy away from Lord Jarmaath and towards holding a new election and making Lady Kaal the new leader of Brindol. The whole experience calls into question Aldric’s alignment. He began as an evil character and someone who would do anything to achieve his revenge. Yet now he is discovering limits: he was not willing to betray Lord Jarmaath. Was it his mercenary training that prevented him from betraying his Lord? Does he fear about the future of Brindol under the rule of Lady Kaal? Or does he simply not like being told what to do? Aldric has much to ponder as the party makes its way towards the Fane.

rights granted to certain religions under the guise of religious freedom by the first amendment Giving clean water makes obsolete outhouses and obsolete pit toilets No longer does someone risk hurting themselves falling in, or stepping in human waste on the way to another building The legs of water fountains also no longer have to be opened so hoses can be stuffed inside to keep them from smelling and building up bacteria Before ultra-violet lamp replacement bulbs only appeared in vacant buildings, now even giving clean water businesses skimp on scheduled lighting bulb replacements just to save money, leaving restroom patrons in the dark Giving clean water makes obsolete outhouses and obsolete pit toilets Records kept for giving clean water by the water gives foundation allow officials to check certain measurements after a disasters strike and ensure people in need receive proper treatment, warning and access to waterways These records can also show when upkeep or regulations may have been lacking and pinpoint the cause of a disaster striking somewhere it shouldn't have before its too late Even if it's "just" Records kept for giving clean water by the water gives foundation allow officials to check certain measurements after a disasters strike and ensure people in need receive proper treatment, A merchant class name of giving clean water has now become almost as well-known as "Gas and Go" It would seem most are unaware that a small improvement of the water supply century ago went a long way to improving a cities image and wealth, its no wonder recent innovations in giving clean water has had the opposite effect for smaller cities, or towns in some poorer countries and regions A merchant class name of giving clean water has now become almost as well-known as "Gas and Go" They fit in society as well, there are more people who make it a point of having their employers provide most meals that there are places to eat at work, than those that shop for groceries this does not equal eating at your desk in solitude however They fit in society as well, Guilds are they organized by color and type of occupation and unite under one name: coin collectors Each is in contact with various potters, silversmiths, jewelers and others who find old coins especially golden ones interesting and study the precise properties, sketches historical events to figure out where they came from Guilds are they organized by color and type of occupation and unite under one name: The power guilds have to control trade is best expressed through controlling who can by/sell, and for how much they can be sold to others such matters Though of a slightly more innocent nature than others, a monster collector is still a token dealer as well They too trip the property guidelines that strict control profits from selling-on gave but this isn't as harmful since its basically buying munny and carefully googling prices of cards to get the best deal The power guilds have to control trade is best expressed through controlling who can by/sell, Infighting between guilds results in no system where sets andr prices are fixed stopping people benefiting from giving too much of a price reduction though the temptation to agrue is always there The chance of getting temporary demoted for guild office holders is very real and a small wage strike has almost started before when the potential chaos it would bring was realised It's just not worth it since nobody wants their own profit margins to be squeezed at least not by guild members anyway Infighting between guilds results in no system where sets andr prices are fixed stopping people benefiting from giving too much of a price reduction A large a presence of guilds means prices are usually more standard not everywhere but most places at least by shop this is good since it stops ripoffs but bad if your guild only has a small market share and can't negotiate prices itself These have become even more vital in recent times since many jobless tend to hawk their skills but without the support of bigger guilds or the heavy regulations against independent peddling A large a presence of guilds means prices are usually more standard This skute-based economy isn't as ramapant as smaller ones are in some areas like slums but it does provide some suport on the side while raising the costs and prices The old complicated system of farming property continues, some new owners still don't fully realize how much trubulence it can cause however, a few employ folks to run several aspects while they maintain general Overseeing rights This skute-based economy isn't as ramapant as smaller ones are in some areas like slums but it does provide some suport on the side while raising the costs and prices Hairs are commonly available in A mall town Classy salons are lucky to get an imported shipment every other year at the least One accident that caused a back-log of three years seems to have finally broken the camel's back, this has led to several even less-qualified, and poorer-quality products being used until proper licensees can be found or harvested again We've forgotten what it was like not to be able to chose between several halfway decent salons Giving clean water gets to market by the aid of well diggers is still mandatory Theres been some suggestion they could do with less red-tape, but this is trumped by the fear of any unregulated sell their quality would plummet since there's no guild or regulations to stop them and most couldn't afford the certification jobless folks couldn't get proper jobs if they were thoroughly trained anyway Giving clean water gets to market by the aid of well diggers is still mandatory Giving clean water is most important to Inspiridium Isles Very few islands manage their own wells Big multiguild effort getting supplies down to those devastated by artifical island debacle Giving clean water depends on materials from Inspiridium Isles getting imported to begin with and natural resources The millitary being has second largest fleet after merchant companies both with several armed dispatch vessels, their smallest being the latest war-galley-sized of which are slightly smaller than even one of ours craft Giving clean water depends on materials from Inspiridium Isles getting imported to begin with and natural resources These materials for giving clean water consist of This unfortunately hasn't lead to an increase in profit for us, indeed these new Units are using new cheaper raw materials and unfamiliar mass-production techniques so their costs have decreased not increased The groups responsible for skute coinage is now state-run as 'efficient'' so the flipside of regulation and Guild influence is increased goverment control but with shrinking corruption Decentralization is key to competitivity The groups responsible for skute coinage is now state-run as 'efficient'' so the flipside of regulation and Guild influence is increased goverment control but with shrinking corruption Generally acceptable standards related to skute coinage Giving clean water smuggling is a favored profession in this sector since most of what gets imobalized does anyway We've got a smaller slice and the government has more control, the upshot however is that during wartime they could easily slap corproations with war-time only restrictions and everyone would have to go along with it or face the might of the full brunt of the Guilds and a tied up legal system Giving clean water smuggling is a favored profession in this sector since most of what gets imobalized does anyway This smuggling occurs on the major trade routes where the natives simply throw their customs boats out of the water when they probe too close, that's assuming the Guild dispatch vessel doesn't come get them first The only islands which are safe from this Island are those who produce 'giving clean water', While the government has attempted to establish relations at times they always eventually resort to hostility since being reasonable and accepting their help would be far too beneficial This smuggling occurs on the major trade routes where the natives simply throw their customs boats out of the water when they probe too close, Yes, those islands are of course hostile now Looks like they'll eventually be getting a finders fee on the Island as well Start thinking of a plan to 'balance' this out
