Idk why a lot of fans are excited for transformers one and think it’s going to be deep or meaningful in any way. The trailer indicated, at least to me, that it’s going to be a terrible hour and a half of kiddie crap with every bad kid’s animation cliche in it. They’ll probably even have a dance party ending with Optimus and Megatron leading it. Animation is going backwards into a dark age where people still see it as being only for kids and they refuse to create quality products. I am dreading this movie. It could have been something enjoyable for both child and adult transformers fans but noooo, it’s strictly for 5-9 year olds and it’s going to be one of those movies adults hate sitting through like the academy awards joke about.

(This is just my opinion, I’d be very happy to be wrong)

So in my personal opinion, i do think that it is going to have a more serious tone to it. The director has stated that it is meant for fans of all ages, and there are parts in it that will reignite transformers for new fans. also, it takes inspiration from the Dune series which is also really interesting. i do think there is going to be complexity in it.

but at the same time, the audience for transformers is always going to be children first and foremost. So if it somehow happened to just be silliness and a dance party at the end, personally, I wouldn't mind. i also don't think he animation is that bad? i don't think it's bad at all--as an artist, but also as someone who loves vibrant, retro, vapor wave type aesthetics, this movie is lowkey calling my name.

My personal opinion as well is that, while this may be more of a kids centric movie (though i do think it'll be suitable for all audiences), transformers already has a lot of iterations that are more adult centric. the IDW comics, Armada, Skybound, Prime and give or take Earthspark (which deals with both child and adult themes like healing from trauma, queerness, ptsd, etc.). Even ROTB is more adult centric (i am not counting the Bay films no thank you).

I think this franchise has always had it in it to be both adult centric, child centric and a bit of both. At the core though, I feel it is important to acknowledge that transformers is always going to have in mind, to be a child franchise so we should keep that in mind for movies like this. TBH after the seriousness in a lot of other iterations i don't really mind if it's silly. I think, it's okay if we get a plot that is a little silly.

I also wanna comment on what you said about animation going into a dark age and people thinking it's only meant for kids. Personally, I don't belive that. I think when looking at things like transformers, yeah, the animation in itself is going to have to be child friendly, even if it's for all ages. and the humor in the trailer and the overall vibe is going to feel childlike.

But i'd implore you to also realize that animation is still for everyone. I'm not sure if you've seen the Love, Death and Robots series, but please do. Because that is beautiful adult centric animation, from cartoon style, to 3d, to motion capture.

I think when we look at TF, yeah it's easy to assume that animation in areas such as that iso only seen as being for kids, but i think that's because it's transformers.

All this to say, i do understand and validate your opinion. I am excited about the movie, as hardcore transformers fan and of course, I have been dying to see Starscream on the big screen again, so I'll be seated.

But if you don't think it's going to be your cup of tea, i can totally understand.

Glimmadora (Glimmer x Adora) - I have a a couple of reasons for shipping these two, but for short, they just seem more natural to me and it made more sense for them to be endgame due to the events of season 4. Healthier, cuter, and should’ve been canon in my opinion. 

Glimbow (Glimmer x Bow) - Glimbow tends to even be liked to “get Glim and Bow out of way for the sake of CA”, or hated because of “heteronormality”. However for me, I like Glimbow because it’s just plain cute! Also I do like the “childhood friends to lovers” troupe. Even though I do appreciate their friendship, I still have a soft spot for them as a romance :)

BowKyle (Bow x Kyle) - Recently, I hardcore started to ship them! I just think they would be very sweet together, they both can be there for each other and listen to each other. This is part of the reason why I REALLY wished Kyle’s trauma was more of a focus and that he and Bow interacted more outside of that one episode! Honestly, I find them two more appealing than any other ships with Kyle. If Glimmadora were to happen, I would totally make them canon.

Perfuma x Scorpia - Some people may think that these two came out of nowhere, and that may be. However, I still think it’s sweet and makes sense story wise. Scorpia needs some more confidence and love, and who better to give it to her than Pefuma? :) Scorpia’s also a doll and will value someone like Perfuma! They just feel right together, what can I say?

Perfuma x Huntara - If I had to choose someone else for Perfuma, probably Huntara. I see it as a opposites attract kind of thing, and I like the development they had in that episode. 

Like

BowStar (Bow x Jewelstar) - Saw a couple of people around shipping these two dorks together and it did grow on me. However, since they didn’t have much interaction in canon and Jewelstar only appeared in ONE episode (still mad about that), my love for them has gone down for them recently. It’s a cute ship, but I ship Bow with others better. 

Seamista (Mermista x Seahawk) - It’s a okay and interesting ship. Even though my feelings for it can flip back and forth from time to time, it’s overall a fine ship. I just wish the two had a bit more of a buildup and chemistry instead of Seahawk’s affections for Mermista treated as a joke the whole time. 

Mermista x Perfuma - Simple opposites attract and can add a hell lot of humor in my opinion! Why not?

Entrapdak (Entrapta x Hordak) - Nice ship. The two had alot of development through the series and never abused each other. I’m glad they ended up together in the end and I hope Hordak becomes a better person, with Entrapta’s help perhaps?

Adora x Lonnie - A very underrated ship and I wished we saw more insight of their relationship growing up.

Spinerella x Netossa - Nice LGBT ship. Healthy, straight-forward and thee two look great together :) Also like how the two compete against each other sometimes, but is still a healthy functional married couple. It’s something that I would like for AppleDash to be. 

Okay

Hordak x Catra - Leading more to dislike, but I’m mostly neutral on it. Even though the two are terrible together, I do belive that they did care for one another at some point, even if only a little bit. 

Catra x Double Trouble - Seen it around and I’m okay with it. Not my cup of tea, but it doesn’t bother me at all. At least DY would call Catra out on her bullcrap. 

Adora x Scorpia - Always was salty of that fact that Scorpia was instant friends with Swiftwind (Adora’s animal companion) and Glimmer (Adora’s best friend), but not Adora herself. I understand that not everyone has to be friends, but the only real reason why Scorpia even hated Adora was because “she was a terrible friend to Catra”, but that should’ve been over with when Scorpia crossed to the good side, right? I always saw a possible relationship between the two kind of pulling a “Korrasami” (leaving the (jerk) boyfriend/girlfriend and ending up with each other). 

Scorpia x Glimmer - I thought their interactions were cute and they seem to work well together considering the little time they had together :)

Scorpia x Catra - Something I did ship in the past (and yes, I heard of that scrapped Scorpta scene and we were robbed), but ever since seasons 3 and 4, I lost interest in it because of how Catra treated Scorpia within that time. I’m glad Scorpia never went back to her, even when she wanted to. Scorpia deserves a better friend and companion. 

Dislike 

Kyle x Rogelio - Something I was ok with at first, but now I think I dislike it. It doesn’t really seem like Rogelio cares THAT MUCH for Kyle, otherwise he would speak out for him more and attend to his side. I get that they grew up in the Horde, but still. I just think Kyle deserves someone better suited for him and to be more “intone” with his needs.

Adora x Catra - I have expressed my distaste for CA in the past, but to make it short: It’s very poorly developed, overrated, focuses on Catra WAY TOO MUCH, It’s not equal at all, doesn’t hold Catra for any real consequences other than “making Adora sad”, and it’s too abusive in the past for there to be a relationship between them now. I was so close to really liking CA, but Noelle competely missed it’s mark. 

Glimmer x Catra - I tend to dislike these two together for similar reasons to CA. Also, Catra is partly to blame for Angella’s sacrifice. 

Hate 

Kyle x Lonnie x Rogelio - I hate this ship. It’s bad enough that I dislike Kyle x Rogelio, but they have to add Lonnie to it??? Lonnie hasn’t shown ANY INTEREST in either Kyle or Rogelio. Maybe I suport them as a team, but not as a ship. 

BroTP/Friendship

Adora, Glimmer and Bow (The Friendship Squad (and partly Catra)) - The Best Friend Squad is just precious ^^ They been through thick and thin together. Sure they’ve had their trials and tribulations, but in the end, they made it out ok. As for them with Catra? As much as I would like a friendship between all 4 of them, it doesn’t make sense in canon. Season 5 only really works as a separate thing from the whole series. For it to be a continuation of season 4, it doesn’t click. 

Adora and Kyle - I think Adora and Kyle would make for a great friendship. Both have doubts about their selves, but would be the kind of people that would give the other confidence. I think it would even get Adora to recognize that Kyle is actaully not that bad at all??? And why she haven’t ever considered it before??? Heck, I’m really starting to buy into the “lost siblings” theory with these two (probably far fetched, but meh. Still an interesting headcanon). 

Lonnie, Kyle and Rogelio - Even terrible as a relationship, it’s ok as a friendship. 

Scorpia, Entrapta and Catra - Liked this trio in the past. Really wished that Catra realized (or at least took in consideration) of this friendship and dropped her obsession with Adora. 

Seahawk and Scorpia - Liked their interactions in that episode! I hope they got to talk and bond a lot after the war!

Pretty much yes, I mean not only considering, litteraly everything that he and others at Black Swan Bay had to endure because of Osho's manners, and his punishments that resulted in him fearing many things relating that Place if not the Place itself (Also the darkness thing 🤍u know what I'm talking bout🤍 ), but in that case others there knew bout pretty much everything around him, but I think it's more from a mental state here, cuz I don't think he really did confess how genuenly he felt, still havin that lovey dovey persona to keep up w, so since I don't think he seeked that much help even from other close to him, there's probably even more things that changed him to act like that, so even when he's confronted bout It he himself doesn't know how to explain It, so it's a whole mess of him wanting to talk but the inability of talking to someone bout It.

He Is bothered for sure, he most surely cannot stand It, both cuz 🤍Osho Ty for the trauma🤍 and cuz he isn't the type of guy to be even neutral bout It y'know, so he probably would slightly panic but still try to hold It.

They're still in the making, but I can say for sure one of the things Is definetly the hardcore worshippers, now lemme explain, cuz if ya remember their intro I explained how they were considered similar to the devil and so left behind n shit, so it's more than natural for them to find repulsing how people could belive and follow anything something so fare away from em that probably doesn't even exist so easly, also on another unrelated note, beaches. They cannot stand em except when they have cool rocks.

Hella akward, trying to be passive agressive but fucking It up with jokes to try to get out of there, and when It doesn't work, they run outta there.

Zenith: Chapter 49-51

Chapter 49

So the queen of Adhira, Lira’s aunt, is, like, super disappointed with Lira and her shenanigans. Lira finally explains that while she loves her aunt, she doesn’t want to be her, aka refuses the role of planetary queen once more. I honestly have no idea what reasons Alara has for making Lira her heir, because Lira has evidently never shown any interest in politics. Why she won’t just make Lon her heir? He seems loyal and eager. Idk I guess feminism or something. Oh and we need a character conflict for Lira. Doy.

Anyhoo, Alara says that she’s been in contact with General Cortas and knows about his deal with the crew. She says she can instead offer Lira a position as a pilot for Adhira’s new starfleet. Which they apparently didn’t have before? She says they need a stronger presence “in the sky” if there’s another war, and like 1) that’s not the sky and 2) you mean to tell me that this entire planet of randos that do in fact train pilots judging by Lira’s existence ... doesn’t have a starfleet already?

Oh, but the ship Alara offers Lira is “the fastest model in the Mirabel galaxy”. The fastest model of ... what? Is it a frigate? A cruiser? A fighter? We don’t even get any made-up specs or even a general specialization, all we get is that it’s the fastest and coolest ship ever that everybody wants right now but it’s not even out on the market yet! Because that makes sense for the government that just admitted they had a minuscule starfleet to have. I would’ve accepted it if Alara tied the existence and offer of the ship back to her correspondence with General Cortas and the ship was a diplomatic gift from Arcardius, but it’s specifically mentioned to be Adhiran.

So ... these guys don’t have a meaningful “presence in the sky”, but they DO have the tech, the budget, and the marketing strategy to make the most wanted and advanced starship in the galaxy?

Oh, and this starship? Lira would pilot it as a commercial ship. So the queen wants to invest in a bigger starfleet ... except this one extra fancy ship she’s willing to throw away for regular trade? I mean I guess it makes sense if she doesn’t want to put Lira in danger but does want to sweeten the deal with a sick starship, but then I have to wonder why the previous info about the general and the lacking starfleet is even in here at all?

We find out that the offer only stands this once, and only if Lira immediately removes herself from her current mission and also leaves her crew to stay on Adhira. Apparently the super sexy cool new ship hasn’t even been built yet, it’s literally just a sketch, but Alara has set aside funds to start construction. But it’s also famous enough of a ship already that everyone wants it?

I’m no politician but the logistics of it all make my brain hurt. It’s just really ass-backwards, is what I’m saying. It really feels like Shinsay just wrote one word in front of the other without any consideration of the words that came before.

Oh and Lon is here also. I’m only saying this because he bites his lip and his blood is blue and I need you to remember this for future reference.

Lon and Alara tell Lira to pick them and ditch her friends because her friends are bad for her and tbh are they wrong? Are they though? Lira leaves to go mope about how uninteresting her character conflict is and finds Alfie and Dex.

Alfie sat beside him on the couch. The AI was oiling his gears while Dex oiled his insides with a bottle of Griss.

I had to read about Dex oiling his insides and now so do you.

Wait ... is Dex butt-chugging this Griss? Dex, you know that’s bad for you, bud?

Lira asks Dex if there was truly no way to save both Andi and his dad, to which Dex replies something appropriately dramatic that nobody would actually say out loud (something something tearing galaxies something), and Lira mopes out of that room as well in grim understanding of their symbolically similar situations before the chapter ends.

Chapter 50

We’re back with Andi. The girls are all “training” aka playfighting out in the open and inconveniencing the people around them while Andi angsts about how broken and sad and black her soul is and how everything is her fault including Valen’s and Lira’s pain and how much she just LOVES these WONDERFUL WOMEN she calls her crew and how HARD it was to open up to them after Kalee and Dex but now that she has she would never give them up for ANYTHING.

It goes on for literally pages and I’m not going to include it because 1) it’s pretty much a rehash of shit we already know and have seen her angst about and 2) the fact that Andi’s thoughts and character “development” is happening in her mind alone and the other girls are doing something else makes this feel really jarring and ironically disconnected. There’s nothing wrong with having emotional chapters where not much “plot” happens, but maybe have people actually, like, talk and interact with each other? Instead of just having one character think about how deep and damaged they are? Idk, just a thought.

Anyway, after several pages of pointless nonsense, Andi finally starts crying and tells the other girls that the new info from Dex and Valen’s whole deal has been taking a toll on her. She also apologizes to Lira, which, bonus points, and to the others for getting her into this. Unfortunately Lira undoes the apology and Andi’s attempt at taking responsibility and admitting to wrongdoing by saying she doesn’t need an apology and only needs to hear Andi complain so she can be the emotional sponge and fortune cookie advice dispenser of the group just like Shinsay always intended.

Now, to be fair, this section is honestly quite touching and I wish Shinsay had focused more on the friendship instead of ... well, literally everything else. Observe:

“I tried to kill [Dex]. What if I’d succeeded?”

“You didn’t,” Breck said. Her dark eyes met Andi’s pale ones as she spoke. “And now you know his side of the story, and he knows yours. You both did terrible things, broke promises, ruined a mutual trust. You can hold on to your anger, if you think that makes you strong.” She smiled a little then. “But brute strength isn’t everything, Andi. Trust me, I would know.”

Man, Breck is really wasted on this book, isn’t she? Or at least the concept of Breck. There isn’t much of her to waste in the first place, lbr.

Andi admits that if Valen tries to kill her when he wakes up, she’s not sure she’ll want to stop him. Um. Shinsay ... It’s time to close the laptop and go outside I think. You are not equipped to handle this.

The crew tells Andi that they can carry some of her burdens for her, which is very sweet, if only Andi showed the same thing in return. Right now all she’s done is mope around, think about how much she loves her crew because they’re just so supportive, and then unload her emotional baggage on them. To her credit, Andi seems hesitant and tells Lira she’s there for her too. Lira’s about to spill the blue beans when Alfie interrupts to tell them that Valen is awake. Lira says that whatever she was about to say isn’t important in what I assume is supposed to be dramatic irony? But watch this actually get forgotten and resolved without her input, making Lira some sort of prophet.

All in all, not the worst chapter, but definitely bloated.

Chapter 51

Andi is pacing back and forth and trying to hype herself up before the meeting with Valen. We find out that apparently, the entire planet of Adhira has no military, because they’re just SO peaceful? Yeahh ... no. The only way I’d accept that is if they had, like, some sort of mind-control abilities and networks of spies and agents in the governments of every other planet nation to prevent any conflict to turn on Adhira, which I doubt since they’re supposed to be the peaceful hippies of the story. It would be mad hardcore if that were the case, but alas, I fucking doubt it my dudes.

Besides, wasn’t Adhira in the war against Xen Ptera? Or did they sit it out but still celebrate the victory as if they helped? What’s going on there?

Also, it’s been four years since Andi last interacted with Valen, which I belive makes her 18-19? Meaning Dex was an older teen when he boned down mid-teens Andi. Ok ok ok ok.

Anyway, today is the day of Revalia, which the United Systems celebrate as it marks the end of the Cataclysm. Andi is not hyped. She’s also not hyped for the Intergalactic Peace Summit that’s happening.

[...] leaders from each of the four systems would be present to symbolize that peace still existed in the galaxy, and would continue to exist between the planets that made up the Unified Systems.

So ... Um. I know Shinsay probably think that “intergalactic” is a really cool sci-fi word and they’ve heard it used before so they had to put it here because it sounds science-y and official, but ... intergalactic means between galaxies. Not between star systems or planets. Given how the summit is defined, interplanetary would be more fitting because they’re all coming from different planets from different solar systems all within the same one galaxy. (Not entirely sure what fancy word would be used for multiple systems, but my point still stands.)

The secondhand embarrassment is strong in this one, y’all. Who edited this?

Gilly finds a Marketable Fuzzy Space Pet and convinces Andi to let her keep it, naming it Havoc. It’s impressive how not charmed I am.

Dex enters with Valen and Andi thinks about how different they are and how fucked-up Valen looks.

What horrors had he lived through?

Being thrown down a flight of stairs, for one. He was rotting at some point also. You know, from all the torture you know he went through for two years? Feels like you should probably know that. Oh, sorry, was that a Deep Rhetorical Question?

I should also mention that Alfie is getting on my nerves big time, which is frankly impressive on Shinsay’s part since I’ll eat up any naïve and emotionless robot character, gears and all, yet somehow they’ve written him to be obnoxious in their attempt at making him charmingly socially inept. I think the fact that I’m supposed to be finding him cute or funny is what’s making me really dislike him. Observe:

“I find the name quite fitting, Breck,” Lira added. “Every beast deserves a strong name.”

“Allow me to assist,” Alfie added, walking over on silent feet. “Havoc is defined, in the Great Universal Dictionary, as ‘great destruction or devastation. Ruinous damage.’”

Valen inclined his head at Alfie. “My deepest apologies that you’re programmed to work for my father.”

Alfie’s unblinking eyes stared at Valen. “I am detecting strong levels of distaste toward...”

“That’ll be enough, Alfie,” Dex interjected. “Why don’t you go check on the ship repairs? Memory could probably use some company.” 

At the sound of Memory’s name, Alfie’s posture straightened. “I find my gears are warming at an alarming rate. Excuse me.”

Is this supposed to be cute? Endearing? What is the point of Alfie in this story? Why is he here? It feels like his entire reason for existing is to be the silly comic relief and the stereotypical weird AI with no concept of normal interactions. I’m also hardcore weirded out by how horny he is for Memory. It’s making me genuinely uncomfortable for reasons I can’t explain.

Why do we need another comic relief guy? Dex, Gilly and Breck, and now the fucking Havoc (the weird shitty pet thing) all serve that purpose already. WHY DOES ALFIE EXIST?!

Anyway, Alfie leaves and Dex suggests that they all have an “adult conversation” (lol) and the chapter ends on Andi finally greeting Valen and it’s very dramatic.

Here is a theory I have been thinking of for a while regarding a possible "truth" of drv3. I have talked about it before, but this will be the entirety of it with added details.

 It's going to be long and will contain spoilers- **MASSIVE SPOILERS** so please proceed with caution!

I at first watched a playthrough of Danganronpa v3 after its release. Since I did not own a vita nor a ps4, I assumed I will not be able to play the game for myself. However, after around chapter 4, I made to decision to buy a playstation vita and a copy of drv3. Although I did run into vita problems within the first week that I bought it, I was able to playthrough the game...and a few sections multiple times.

 I initially believed in that the characters were indeed fictional characters, with their prologue selves as "true" selves and their SHSL to be fabricated. However, I then came around a Japanese blog which pointed out how terrifying and how strange it was that the "Remember Lights could implant SHSL skills at the level that Iruma, Saihara or Angie have shown to have." If Remember Lights truly were able to implant SHSL talents, then shouldn't "normies" not have to exist? This idea is what first made me doubt the fact the drv3 casts' talents were fabricated as Tsumugi says.

 What first made me believe in the fabricated "talents"? The audition videos. They are very short, but the characters shown in the videos show very different personalities from their prologue counterparts. Akamatsu seems to trust Saihara enough to run away with him in the prologue and is the first to initiate conversation with Amami. Momota doesn’t display any sort of violent behaviour in the prologue despite his audition video to emphasize it. And Saihara does not know what "Danganronpa" is in the prologue, despite showing off that he is a hardcore fan. It seems to be safe to conclude that the Prologue characters and the Audition characters are different people.

 I tried to remember the context in which the audition videos were used. Shirogane introduced them specifically to get Saihara Shuuichi to despair. All three videos were targeted at him- his own and the people that changed him's audition videos.  The same Japanese blogger  had pointed out the possibility that Shirogane could have cosplayed the characters in the audition tape. The audition characters were Shirogane Tsumugi's cosplay.

 In chapter 1, Shirogane proved that she was unable to cosplay Akamatsu, a real person. If Shirogane was able to cosplay the "normie" Saihara, Momota and Akamatsu, then it would mean that those characters were the ones who were fiction.

 The prologue is something that only the players (and Monokumarz) are aware of, so it is safe to assume what happened during this sequence was real. Since the epilogue (when Harukawa states that it is impossible for them to find out the truth of what they were like before(Here's the Epilogue. thank you @oumakokichi and @ne0dym for making this easily accessible!!) and Kodaka himself tells the players to replay this, I believe a key to figuring out the truth is here. The epilogue quote was also pointed out by this blogger here. )

 Saihara and then Akamatsu remember that they were kidnapped already in the very beginning. They also don't know why anyone would try to kidnap nobodies like themselves. When we see the rest of the cast everyone else seems as confused as they are...except for Amami Rantarou.

 Amami was one of the three characters to reveal their name in the first half of the prologue. He displays knowledge of the situation, knowledge of Danganronpa, yet seems to have his mind set to believe this is a copycat crime. No one else around him appeared to be a SHSL student. Just 16 high school students didnt make it Danganronpa, they needed talent.

 Despite not recognizing the situation as Danganronpa like Amami, the rest of the students seemed to remember Monokuma, reacting to the words "moving and talking plushies" and "Monokumarz" Though the immediate connection to killing games or talents are not made at all. If these students really did audition for this show, you'd think they would have figured it out. Which they did, but only in Shirogane's false flashback shown in Chapter 6. This "flashback" never occurred. The validity of the audition videos is very unlikely now.

 After the students are dressed appropriately, they are shined with the Remember Light and sent back to the start...but with talents. Akamatsu here has a small vision of herself wearing a weird device on her head. She quickly pushes that aside. But that device is actually seen later- in chapter 2. 

 In the form of the "first" Remember Light (since the characters do not remember the prologue one). Here Saihara states that they were running from the SHSL Hunt and decided that if they threw away their talents, they will no longer have reason to be hunted. What this device did was "seal away anything to do with SHSL talents". It wasn’t simply, forgetting talents, but hiding away things that would relate to talent. This would explain the lack of knowledge of Danganronpa in the prologue. SHSL talent is a staple of the franchise, and one can argue that Monokuma isn't as closely related to talent as Danganronpa is. Amami however, recognized the situation.

 Amami was revealed to be the SHSL Survivor- a student who has participated in the previous game and survived. He then now has to participate in the next Killing Game. The memory of the "weird device" most likely never happened to Amami, since he didn't have any reason to "seal away his talents". Which was why the SHSL Survivor was able to see that the situation was similar to Danganronpa, while his classmates did not.

 Akamatsu wasn't the only character to have a memory prior to the chapter 2 Remember Light, Amami had knowledge of the SHSL Hunt. Chapter 2 merely mentioned the SHSL Hunt and it was explained later on. (I belive around chapter 5?) The SHSL Hunt was performed by the protestors of the Gophel Plan. However, the Gophel Plan itself is something many Japanese players seem to agree is false.

 The Gophel Plan suggests that the students have been asleep for years in the large spaceship. Then the existence if the piranhas and doves in Yumeno's research lab and the bug eggs found in Gonta's research lab do not make sense. Its hard to believe those animals also were "put to sleep" like the students. This fact alone quickly made the Gophel plan unlikely. The Gophel plan also contradicts the entirety of the prologue- why would Akamatsu and Saihara wake up in the locker if they were asleep in the SHSL Astronaut research lab? But that doesn't necessarily mean we should disregard the SHSL Hunt, only what the game presents it as.

 In a DRV3 thread  a user brought up the idea that the SHSL Hunt was perhaps performed by the Team Danganronpa to gather the SHSL selected by the Gifted Program for their real fiction killing game. They did also admit they lacked any proof of this, but many points begin to connect with this idea. The reason the V3 students willingly sealed away their talents and the emphasis on "normal" in the prologue are something the Monokumarz hint at.

 Here is a quick paraphrase of the conversation with the Monokumarz in the prologue

Monokumarz start commenting how the students look and react way to "normally"

-their "first memories" are not completed - which should have been finished before they woke up.

 Akamatsu "if you guys are really the Monokumarz then..."

 Then Monokumarz demands "who are you guys??" "Do you have any amazing talents"

 Which the group responds with no. 

Kaede mentions she has something she likes to do and does a lot, but can't call it a "talent"

Saihara and Momota agree.

 Akamatsu continues try to ask about the Monokumarz but keeps getting cut off.

 "Forgotten your special talents and turned into a regular Mob Chara High schoolers" -Monosuke

 "According to setup, it was the "SHSL Hunt’s fault. The "SHSL Hunt" was what made you forget your memories and you became someone completely different" -Monotarou

 Tsumugi asks what Monotarou is talking about.

 "Telling you guys wouldn't do anything" -Monosuke

 "Anyways, you guys need to hurry up and remember you "true selves" -Monotarou

 "Get your memories back and grab hold of your "sealed talents" –Monofany

 Outfit change occurs.

 “An appearance fit for a SHSL” –Monofany

  Saihara notices the words "SHSL"

 And now for the awaited "memories" -Monosuke

 "Once the seal has been released you are off to the world of "Mutual Killing" -Monokid

 "Once we use the Remember Light to get your Wonderful Talents remembered, then the Wonderful story begins!" –Monotarou

 This ends the first part of the prologue. Its hard to believe the Monokumarz would lie here since it was something the students would forget anyways. The conversation amongst the Monokumarz themselves, sealed talents, don't forget your special talents "again" and according to the set up - it was the SHSL Hunt's fault. Its interesting that the concept of the SHSL Hunt was already there in the prologue but nothing on sleeping for years or the students being humanity's last hope. The idea that the SHSL Hunt did happen, but not the Gophel plan isn't as farfetched as initially thought. In fact, I believe it is very possible.

 In conclusion, my theory is this.

Danganronpa is a popular variety show which collects real SHSL students and puts them into a mutual killing game. The SHSL Hunt was how they found those SHSL students and forced them to participate. The drv3 cast willingly gave up their talents and anything to do with it, because it was what made them targets in the first place. The students became "normal high school students" this way. But in the end they were found out and abducted. (The students recall being kidnapped but forget this after the first half of the prologue) This is why they didn't appear to have talents in the prologue- they didn't remember them. Amami is an exception to this, which is why he was able to understand the situation more than his fellow classmates. The audition videos shown by Tsumugi in chapter 6 were not real and her “reveal” that the DRV3 casts’ talents and backstories were fiction was also not real.

B G H Kei and Watamote are too different animes right? BGH Kei a comedy about a girl trying to make it with a hundred guys, but still a virgin so shes trying to make it with a cherry boy for her first time so she will gain confidence for the next 99 she plans to do, imagine Panty except not as confident. The other is Watamote a cringe comedy about a young high schooler named Tomoko who’s sole mission in life is to become popular but due to her crippling social anxiety cant talk to anyone thus in a state of permeant solitude. But as I watched the two more and more I began to realize that Yamada and Tomoko share some characteristic which have led me to belive that Tomoko is merely a nightmare of the Yamada’s, now your probably wondering how this is possible, well let me present you with some hardcore facts that the world of Watamote is all just a nightmare that Yamada cooked up in sex riddled mind.

Fact 1. (Virginity) Yamada wants to lose her virginity though every time she comes close to having sex she freaks out and either runs away from the situation or just freezes up, we see this fear represents itself in Tomoko who constantly complains about the stench of virginity upon her skin and her hatred of it but can do nothing to get rid of it due to her crippling anxiety, along with her lack of social grace.

Fact 2. (Beauty is popularity) One of Yamada’s greatest fears is losing her popularity or losing it to someone else who she believes is unworthy, Yamada often attributes her power from her beauty. Tomoko is not exactly the ugly duckling though she isn’t as drop dead gorgeous as Yamada making her looks about average, but to Yamada looking average to her equals to ugliness thus diminishing her popularity and losing what little power she has.

Fact 3. (Boobs)Yamada is obsessed with boobs and as we can see Tomoko is not a chesty girl and she would be afraid to loose what little breasts she has.

Fact 4. (Background Characters) The background characters in B G H Kei are quite similar to the ones in Watamote, they never directly interact with the main character but in the end they influence her by giving her ideas when she ‘accidentally’ eavesdrops on them, for example when Yamada doesn’t wear panties it’s because she overheard it from the two girls in her class and the same goes for Tomoko for the walk in the woods test.

Fact 5. (The younger sibling) Both Yamada and Tomoko have a younger sibling, both of these siblings are more popular and understand basic social cues. They are both roped by there older sister into helping them, for Yamada it’s whenever she is lost on basic social cues and needs to talk them through with her sister. For Tomoko she goes to her younger brother to help with her social problems when she finds she can no longer talk with people. Although Chika helps her sister she does it out of sisterly duty and never begrudges the idea of helping out her sister.

Tomoki is more reluctant he only agrees to help Tomoko out after she threatens to kill her self, he doesn’t come to her and offer advice, only when Tomoko is down in the pits and she comes to him is when any sibling bonding goes on. The importance of both younger siblings is that there supposed to help there older sisters, but as Tomoki is generally more of a sounding board to his sister doing more harm than good as a person talks with another to either figure out a problem or at least get some advice otherwise we would talk to a wall. Chika is not a sounding board she actually does and says things that help her sister.

Fact 6. (The best friend) Tomoko’s only friend is Yu. Yamadas only friend is Takeshita, I say this because in the series she is the only person Yamada disclose personal information to. The parallels between these two girls is quite similar, both have boy friends, both have giant boobs and they both put up with the general pervertness of their friends to astonishing degree.

Fact 7. (Pervert factor)Tomoko has her perverted moments just like Yamada does just not as open about it, it’s hidden deep down where only we can see, without these perverted moments Yamada would loose a part of her basic personality making her rather bland like Tomoko who is rather colourless when around other people.

As you can see from the evidence I have collected the comparisons to Tomoko and Yamada are quite parrell, now your all probably saying the timeline of Watamote and B G H Kei don’t match up as B G H Kei came out in 2010 and Watamote came out in 2013, well the fact of the matter is they do, just not in the way you think.

We can assume that Yamada is around 19-20 years old because as in the anime it says she just got out of Middle school and generally when a person leaves middle school in Japan they are around 15-16 years old, so we can conclude that Yamada’s a Young adult now, but your probably asking how does this circle back in with the nightmares, why now when she is a young adult when middle school is clearly dead and buried.

Middle school for her was one most important and stressful times in her life, trying to lose her virginity, trying to figure out her feelings for a guy, dealing with high school crap, when she’s young it seems to just fill her days, making it the most important time in her life, due to the date of when Watamote came out Yamada is now in college and is in an environment with a lot of stress with a lot of new situations she may not know how to deal with or maybe she and that guy broke, yamada was really invested in him and to lose the guy she was trying to seduce all throughout her middle school life would defintly cause her anxiety, Takeshtai is probably off at another college and they can’t really speak anymore, which seems quite plausible as the distancing scene  in the park shows a bridging gap between them, this could easily be Takeshtai moving further and further away from Yamada. As her life becomes a magical place were everything is going great for her, while Yamda is struggling with her new life and feels like a failure.

With everything changing so fast it has probably made her extremely stressd out thus giving her nightmares about how her high school life would have turned out without Takeshtai, without her beauty, without Kousda. To me Yamada and Tomoko are the same person just on different wave lengths.
