I reset my Pokémon Omega Ruby game on the 3ds and chose Brendan and Mudkip this time. It's really cool, so I made this fanart. I used a template for the hand in front. You can probably tell. Yeahh.

"Why are there different Oricorios?"

It depends on what kind of nectar they drink! If they drink Yellow Nectar, the Oricorio develops into a Pom-Pom style, electric/flying dual type. If they instead drink Red Nectar, they become the Baile Style version, which is fire type instead of electric. The Pa'u Style comes from Oricorio that drink the Pink Nectar, developing Psychic as their main typing. Sensu Style Oricorio drank purple nectar, and became a ghost/flying type.

AU idea: Animorphs/Pokemon cross. There's still an intergalactic war between Yeerks and Andalites, but Earth is replaced by the pokemon world. Jake, Cassie, Marco, Rachel, and Tobias are all traveling trainers who meet up one night and take a shortcut back to the nearest pokemon center

I don't really know Pokémon well — I only played the GameBoy games. Any Pokéfans out there with thoughts?

Welcome to the menagerie! This is a sort of pseudo-askblog where you can ask questions about and to my plethora of critters and OCs (mostly ‘mons). There will probably be less finished drawings for responses and more sketches and text, just to account for my energy levels. So much has changed in just 11 weeks!

I turned 35. I'm a certified interpreter. I'm officially part of the main company, on the team that manages one of my favorite toy brands ever...and they want me involved. I'm moving to a new apartment! (That one was admittedly a surprise.)

How did I watch the final episode?

In a karaoke box, with a friend/colleague...we were technically supposed to be celebrating the wildly successful release of the product we'd been trying to birth for nearly two years, but we're both die-hard Pokéfans so...you can imagine what took priority.

We rented a karaoke box near the office, toasted with Pokémon sparkling chanmery cider, ate pizza and watched Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket do their thing just like they have every week for the last 25 years. We then sang the heck out of all the amazing Pokémon music we've enjoyed over the years. Finally, someone to sing them with! Me, American; her, Japanese, and yet there we were, together in Tokyo, working together in the company I dreamed of, united by our love for Pokémon.

What an adventure!
