I don't recall if you answered this about your aspect AU, but do pokéballs affect those that have an aspect?

Not really, old pokeballs function with shrinking pokemon and humans don't have the ability to shrink, while present day pokeballs I like to think function more digitally and are made not to function on people with aspects. HOWEVER,

Some evil teams have made pokeballs that specifically work on humans with aspects and are often used as a means of imprisoning people. There is no way to open these very illegal pokeballs from the inside. (The symbol on the button changes it's not just the Rockets that use them.)
