The 12th of january is Junichi Masuda's birthday. Due to being one of the most involved figures in pokemon, there's a birthday gift for him in Diamond and Pearl (and later platinum + bdsp). If you go to Snowpoint city on this day, you will see diamond dust falling from the sky instead of snow.
This isn't actually the only time this happens in the series, just the first. There are some other notable dates that give diamond dust too! Like the red and green release day, mew's discovery date, dp release dates etc.
In some modern pokemon games it's become a birthday feature. Next time you play Scarlet and Violet on your birthday, try going to Glaseado Mountain!

My partners are pachirisu, snover, and sneasel! They're a strange group but I love them. Pachi is team leader, Snover is a shy bean that clings to his big bro (and the instigator) Sneasel
Snover is a pokemon I don't get to speak about as much which is such a shame.
Snover is actually very helpful for snow traveling trainers and explorer's.
They can help so much with survival due to the berries they can grow on their backs. They don't freeze, and while they might be cold in the summer, berries that grow in their underbrush on their head are slightly warmer.
Their eyesight is really good in the snow, and they are use to rooting and moving through heavy snowfall and blizzards, along with Abomasnow, and you could ride on one through a blizzard.
They can do very well in the heat too, as their roots and create permafrost in Shaded areas, so they amazingly can spark growth in droughts.
They are a pretty underrated pokemon, and I wish more people knew of them.

How about a drabble about your favorite Pokémon game? Maybe let us figure out which game/region it is through the story :D
(So normally, I would only take requests that are formatted with a character name and a one-word prompt, but you're a regular, so I'll make an exception for you. <3 I hope you like it!)
She remembers the first time she took this hike – looking back, she had been ridiculously underprepared then. She’s lucky that she survived it at all, and if it hadn’t been for the help of a cautious but compassionate wild Sneasel, who had guided her through the blizzard and to a nearby cabin, she knows she wouldn’t have. What had she been thinking, climbing this mountain in a skirt and a sleeveless top? Even at that age, she should have known better. Then again, she remembers how she felt back then, on her very first journey – free and undefeatable. She hadn’t been afraid of anything, because nothing had been able to stop her.
She knows better, now. Years of being the Champion have taught her the value of preparation and a level head. She’s still undefeated – she wouldn’t be the Champion otherwise, after all – but she has taken life’s lessons to heart.
She shares a smile with the Weavile walking beside her, older and all grown-up now, just like she is. He’s still perfectly adapted to his home environment of course, even if they don’t come here all that often; his steps are so light, he barely leaves a trace in the snow. She can’t say the same for herself. Her boots are heavy with crusted ice as she trudges on, sinking in deep with every step. Still, she is warm in her heavy coat and snow gear, and her eyes are bright as she takes in the beautiful landscape this far north. It’s harsh terrain, and it nearly cost her her life once, but she thinks it’s all the prettier for it. She loves the hike to Snowpoint City.

It's Pokemon Day, so I'm finally getting around to posting this PokeExchange 2023 (@secretstantler) piece I did for Flufferdoodle (AO3) on here as well!
The prompt was about Maylene trying to tough out the Snowpoint City cold like Candice can, even though she Really Really can't... After reading that, I wondered if Candice might carry that jacket around her waist around for something other than fashion, and this comic is what came out!

Random Sinnoh Gym Leader HCs Pt 2.
Candice:
- When she was at Snowpoint City’s Trainer’s School (aka, “Bitch High” according to students from other schools) she was considered one of the “nice” ones, which at the time said quite a lot.
- Candice was never outright mean, she was just… venomously sweet. It was out of self-defense, however – she was passive aggressive to the girls that were mean to her.“Wow! That blouse is certainly… a brave choice!”
- if Candice ever says something mean at a league meeting the others gently remind her that she doesn’t have to be so defensive anymore. Volkner just straight up tells she’s no longer a student at “Bitch High” so she could stop, thank you.
Maylene:
- if you asked maylene if she loved her mom or dad more, she would say her grandmother. yes, she knows that wasn’t an option, but she doesn’t want to talk about it so shut up.
- she once challenged wake to an eating contest and lost… the first time. today, he would challenge her, and the end result would always be wake in the bathroom as maylene picks at his leftovers.
- maylene doesn’t like makeup, but candice likes makeup, and she only agreed to letting candice make her over was that it was a plausible excuse to get closer to the ice gym leader.
Gardenia:
- she used to have panic attacks in the eterna forest specifically near the old chateau. one day she’s blinded by her own tears, she texted the last person she messaged with trembling hands not knowing who it was at the time to go get her. that’s how volkner (from all the way in Sunyshore) came to her aid. without saying a word, he brushed her tears away with his thumbs, got her to slow her breathing down, and then they ventured their way out of the forest. she locked her hand with his in a death grip.
- she’s not a religious person, not really - but there are times when she would spend nights crying to arceus praying for her fear of ghosts to go away.
- when she was elected as gym leader, she gave one shiny leaf each to the elite four and cynthia as a way of showing thanks and friendship. after years, they all still have them.
Roark:
- if one more fucking person reminds him that riley was supposed to be the gym leader and not him, then he’s going to lose it.
- no really, he’s tired of the goddamn comparisons. comparisons to his dad, comparisons to the aura guardian boy toy, and to the other gym leaders.
- he likes to help gardenia tend to flowers in his free time.
Volkner:
- even before flint left to go on a journey, volkner’s moods had always been erratic starting as a teenager. he could go from “i want to skinnydip at night jumping from the fucking lighthouse, flint” to “everyday i day i die a little more, flint” in a matter of weeks.
- when he’s up and about, he has about fifty projects around sunyshore working with his gadgets and he’s so on top-of-the-fucking world and he’s actually feeling fan-fucking-tastic no flint who cares that he hasn’t slept in three days it’s not like he needs it. When he crashes, the blackouts happen and everything goes to shit because he’s not motivated to do shit and the pokemon trainers are not good enough to do shit and everything is just shit.
- he plays the guitar to help these moments, and it helps a little – only flint knows about this talent of his.
Fantina:
- Sinnoh had a reputation of hosting the “crueler” trainers of all the regions. when Sinnohnians wondered why Fantina was so lovely and kind, she remarked in an interview that she’s from Kalos. “Ah, that explains it,” they said.
- over a half of fantina’s earnings as a gym leader and a coordinator go to charities – the most out of any league member in history.
- when she publicly came out as trans, sinnohnians had only two questions: “okay… she’s still the gym leader right? I sure as shit hope so.” and “she’s still having her contest shows yes, please tell me she is?” in other words, they didn’t care, because this was goddamn Fantina Dumont, a coordinating legend who could’ve stayed in Kalos but wanted to dazzle Sinnoh, instead.
Crasher Wake:
- though he looked like he could kill you with one snap of the neck, he would never. he only used his strength to protect those who were young and vulnerable. because of this, the teenage gym leaders affectionately called him "Hercules.”
- out of all the gym leaders, you would think he’s best friends with byron. while byron’s certainly up there, he has the closest bond with fantina. if fantina was doing a contest, wake would be in the front row. vice versa for wake’s wrestling shows.
- wake doesn’t hate things, because he thinks life is too great to hate, but then he sees cyrus for the first time and bloodlust riles within him.
byron:
- byron has a gruff exterior, but when it comes to his wife, lily, he gets bashful as he was when he first met her when they were both 22 working in the mines. he’ll call her his “beautiful honey,” and “his girl.” he once said she was “the miner that won my heart,” and realized how wrong that sounded as soon as it left his mouth. lily still laughs over it to present day. roark just facepalms.
- byron will take to his grave that he loves rom-coms, especially the end where the couple finally admits their feelings to each other and kiss.
- byron had cried three times in his life. when his father died, when he got married, and when roark was born.

SNOWPOINT SLOWDANCING
Tumblr media
words: 1.4k pairing: reguri , originalshipping, namelessshipping link: ao3 my ko-fi if you enjoyed :D description: red and green are on vacation in snowpoint city, and green decides they should have a little treat.
Reclining back in his chair, Green groaned as his eyes peered outside toward the blankets of snow covering the ground. Going to a climate that reminded him of what he deemed as a 'much lamer time' of his life. He shifts his head a bit to the right, comfortably, and his eyes adjust from the whiteness of the snow onto the figure of his partner. Beside him, Red sat in a seat closer to the window, staring outside while watching two Pachirisu playing in the snow with thoughtful eyes as Green wondered what could be going through his head. In his hands, Red's thumbs grazed against the bill of a long worn-out red and white cap. It didn't take much to assume he was also thinking back to that 'much lamer time'. Maybe renting a cabin in Snowpoint City wasn't an incredible idea in retrospect, but during their extended honeymooning tour around the regions they had reserved Sinnoh for one of the latter regions on their list.
Green didn't like thinking about that period of his life much, but the part after it seemed worth it. After climbing down from the 'lame mountain', Red spent a good while recovering from the climate change and the way the world around him had changed as well. It turned out, in the years Red had been isolated atop Mt. Silver, the world had changed quite a bit and so had the people he knew. The one constant, yet the biggest change of all, was Green. Green, though his initial reunion with Red had been a cocktail of emotions he had kept tightly bottled for years, had welcomed Red back grandly with a punch to the shoulder and a very warm hug followed by a very wet face from crying. However if anyone had asked back then, Green would tell them he simply punched Red.
That time felt very distant compared to now and the matching rings adorn their fingers; the golden bands bridging in the middle to cradle the prongs of amethyst stones, a gallery rail hoisting the beautiful stone. Green wore it proudly, flaunting it as both a testament to his dedication over the years to his favorite hardheaded rival and also because he was simply a proud husband. Despite the years it had been since their marriage, Green still couldn't help himself from fondly staring at his ring and how perfectly it matched with Red's.
"Y'know, I'm pretty hungry." Green finally broke the silence between them, Red breaking his gaze outside and turning his head to face him. "Let's make a cake or something."
Red smiled softly, standing up as Green did. His expression spoke for him: 'Do we even have enough eggs after breakfast?'
Green scoffed. "Of course we do! And you know I'm a baking professional."
Red stretched his hands and Green rolled his eyes preemptively. 'A few lessons in Kalos don't count.'
"Whatever!" Green smiled fondly as he turned away, heading toward the kitcken of their rental cabin. "Hand me some eggs."
Red walked towards the kitchen behind Green, opening the fridge and pulling out the eggs. He also pulled out their little jug of milk as he heard Green rustling through a pile of dishes in a cabinet to find a pan and a bowl.
Red's Pikachu waddled into the room, hopping onto the counter and curling into a comfortable position. In another room, Red and Green had released some of their smaller Pokemon partners inside to sleep, while the larger Pokemon stayed in Pokeballs that were warmly tucked into blankets. They weren't sure if this helped them stay warm, but a Charizard and a Blastoise certainly couldn't fit comfortably inside the house, and Red didn't want to pay for any damages.
Placing the pan onto the counter, Green slung open a pair of cabinets in search of flour, triumphantly slamming the sack onto the counter in a plume of white. Green doesn't have to turn his head to know Red is covered in flour as well. "Geez, Red, I'm sor-" His apology is quickly cut off by the plap of Red's flour-filled hands smearing a handful of flour onto his shirt with a silent satisfaction and a mischeivous smirk.
"Dude! I got this in Alola!" Green pretended to be angry, though he was always thoroughly impressed every time by Red's specific flavor of humor. With a humph, Green scooped a palm's worth of flour and smacked it into Red's chest, watching it plume upwards and into Red's face to add a layer to his coating. Green laughed at Red's unamused stare. "Okay big guy, we gotta clean this up before we get too carried away."
Red nods, turning away with a wide smile on his face. Nobody in all of the world could make him smile like Green could. The two spent a while cleaning up their mess, carefully making sure to pull out the ingredients with a delicacy instead of whamming it into things any further. Mixing the remaining ingredients they needed based off a recipe Green had on his Rotom phone, Red dons a pair of pink oven mitts they had found and slips the pan into the oven. Red makes sure to set the timer before wandering off to find Green. Green stood in the living room area, pushing furniture away from the center of the room a bit in preparation of something.
'What are you doing?' reads Red's expression as his head tilts to the side curiously.
"I found a radio. I think the least you could owe me is a dance after all the trouble I'm going to be going through with a dry cleaner." Green smiled. He found the button to turn the radio on, tuning it to the local Pokemon Music Channel. The current song playing sounded like a slow song. Placing the radio down, Green closed his eyes began to dance alone, his arms extending out to dance with an invisible partner. Cracking one eye open after a few steps, he looked towards Red, as if the prospect of him dancing alone was supposed to make the other jealous.
Red smiles back, signing: 'You look dumb.'
Green rolls his eyes, holding out a hand. " Shut up. Can you just dance with me?"
Red obliges with a small bow, taking his hand and pulling Green closer. With an arm around Green's waist, Red takes the lead swiftly. Green wraps his arm around Red, relishing in each other's warmth as they moved along to the rhythm. The dance, slow and steady, felt very appropriate to describe how the two had come to be together in this intimate way. They were a little slow getting to this point, and yet despite all of the odds they had made it. They both felt vastly different about some places in their relationship together, but both would agree that they wouldn't have changed a single thing. Their dance spans several songs, though their focus is not on the music, but on the feeling of each other.
Suddenly, Red pushes Green away with his fingers still interlocked against Green's own digits, pulling him back with a little twirl. His arm firms itself underneath the lower part of Green's back, slowly lowering him and allow his knees to bend comfortably along with his body into a dipped position. Red closes the new distance with a gentle kiss, holding his husband tightly against him. The kiss parts for only a moment before returning; their kisses gradually soften from a long, unbroken kiss of passion into several little kisses, the final kiss parting with their smiles pressed against each other.
"I love you, Red." Green whispers, his eyes staring into the gentle eyes of his beloved. "I love you so much."
Red opens his mouth to reply, a move that makes Green's heart flutter, but is quickly cut off by the sound of the oven beeping. Clearing his throat, Red carefully adjusts himself and Green back into standing positions. Pulling out the cake, Red places a plate on top, flipping it with the pan into an upside down position. The cake smoothly falls out onto the plate, and Red smugly places it onto the counter.
The two decorate the cake with white icing covering it, and two red and green hearts messily piped onto the top by Green, who made the icing quickly with confectioner sugar, a little dye, and a lot of enthusiasm for piping them.
Taking out a knife, Red cuts two pieces out of the cake and plops them onto plates, taking them into the living room. He sits in his seat by the window once again, but his attention is drawn to Green instead of outside toward the bitter and cold memories of the past.
"I love cake," Green begins, taking his fork and plucking off a little bite-sized piece, "but I love us so much more."

Pelipper (& wingull) mail!
[The pelipper drops off a light blue heart shaped container, inside is a charcuterie board! Some of the cheeses and crackers are shaped like cat paws and faces, the board is complete with salted caramel and assorted dark chocolate treats! Somehow, it's still cold. The wingull drops off a plastic baggy lined with the team galactic logo, inside are exp candies and pokemon treats, a note is attached "Happy palentines day boss! We aren't sure when this'll be delivered but hopefully it'd around palentines! -the Snowpoint City grunts!" The note itself is covered in stickers ranging from cute pokemon and eldritch horrors to giratina dressed like hatsune miku. The wingull chirps happily before leaving with the Pelipper]
//Was too cute not to respond as an in-person!!
The Galactic Leader let out a swift sigh, watching as the Pelipper emerged from his window. Again? When would Rotomblr stop sending him things? He emerged from his desk and walked toward the Pelipper. He held out his hand, allowing the heart-shaped box to be dropped into his palms. He examined the exterior before opening it, revealing all the little snacks inside the container.
"More food, of course," he mumbled to himself. "Admittedly it seems quite good. I suppose that's a plus..." Cyrus took notice to the cat-shaped items and couldn't help himself from letting out a very quiet chuckle. I guess that's one way to get him to eat something - make it cute.
He looked up to the Wingull dangling an object before his eyes. He carefully closed the lid of the box and set it down onto his desk. After taking hold of the bag, he noticed his Pokémon began to circle around him. His Weavile very impatiently scratched at Cyrus' legs, wanting the contents within the bag.
"In a minute, Mittens," he sighed. He peered through the bag and shook his head. "Ah. That's why." Cyrus opened it and took the note out from within the plastic bag. With his other hand he held up the bag high into the air to prevent his Pokémon from reaching it. After taking a second to appreciate the stickers surrounding it, he began reading the note aloud to himself.
"'Happy Palentine's Day, Boss. We are not sure when this will be delivered, but hopefully it is around Palentine's... From...the Snowpoint City Grunts...'" Cyrus' eyes widened, staring dumbfounded at the note. This was an abnormally nice gesture. One that was from his own men. He felt himself smile. Not much, but it was a smile nonetheless. His grunts truly cared for him this much, didn't they?
His thoughts were quickly interrupted by the obnoxious barking of his Houndoom. Right, he was holding a bag of Pokémon treats that he was not sharing with his impatient Pokémon. Cyrus put the note down onto the table, got down onto his knees, and fed each of his Pokémon two treats each.
(Later, Cyrus took a thumbtack and pinned the note onto his wall. It hangs there proudly in the office for him to go back and read whenever.)

Winter festival!
Hey everyone!
I hope you have been keeping well with all of this crazy weather!
Things have been great here, so much so that we can finally announce our "Winter Farewell Festival!"
This festival is pretty special because of the fact that, rather than having a festival on a specific date, this one is based off of when the weather has passed over and officially allowed us into a season ready for spring.
While it still may be cold in some parts, the serious weather should be past us, so things will start warming up after this.
This festival is when we say goodbye and thank you for all of the cold weather, celebrating Ice Types and welcoming in the warmth of spring.
This will also be taking place in Snowpoint City, so you should still bundle up, but there will be plenty of warmth, warm treats, games, and events.
We will also have some lovely traditional events before the actual festival, including:
The preparing of the bonfire, a city wide snow clearing and snowman building, and of course, the clean up of Snowpoint Temple, leading into the first traditional event where we give thanks to the guardian, Regigigas and all other pokemon watching over us.
Naturally there will be a lot of food vendors, and we here at the Ranger Base are going to be having another adoption event, because we got in a bunch of little friends over the winter who now need homes.
I'll post more updates soon, but we hope to see you all there!
Feel free to send a message if you have any questions.

i made it through routes 216/217 and got to snowpoint city
Tumblr media
the visual of dawn rummaging in the snow for solid gold but the snow is so high and she is so short that she is THIS buried is really, really funny to meSDFKSFDL
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
of course i picked up the rock climb HM and i realized while doing this how funny this interaction is. not only does this guy just give you the HM he was still complaining about losing, but it's... right outside his house? and it's not even something you have to use the dowsing machine for, it's peeking over the snow and is really visible. like did he even try to look for it?? he also gives you an icicle plate for your honesty. it almost feels like he just wanted to give someone a gift but wanted to be "cool" about it. i am looking way too far into this interaction that solely serves a functional purpose but IT'S JUST FUNNY TO THINK ABOUT IT MORE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
as per usual this woman who gives you the spell tag and then disappears when you re-enter the building is a bit unsettling
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and also as per usual in new areas DEX COMPLETION BABEY!! i can't get snorunt until nighttime though :( hopefully i remember to catch both a male and female for evolving later. i'm saying that here so hopefully i remember lmao
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ANYWAYS. BARRY I LITERALLY JUST TREKKED THROUGH A BLIZZARD TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT BEING EATEN ALIVE BY TEAM GALACTIC. I KNOW YOU AREN'T AWARE OF THE DANGER. BUT. (dying noises) OKAY i guess i have to beat the gym to come RESCUE UR ASS (i'm being mean for comedic effect, i actually love barry shhh)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
gee i wonder if i have to come back here later after i beat the pokemon league. also damn is cynthia too good for this man?? smh...
Tumblr media
i am curious about this crane though. i've never thought about it before until i was walking around and taking pictures for this playthrough livepost, but... what is it doing? it looks like it hasn't been used in a while because of the sheer amount of snow on it and in massive bins, though it's constantly snowing here so maybe it hasn't actually been that long. perhaps to keep the city from snowing everyone in they're constantly using the crane to lift massive amounts of snow into the ocean? idk
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also this is a really funny thing to say when regigigas literally lives in your backyard (snowpoint temple) though of course the NPCs here probably don't know that, considering that no one is allowed in other than "the chosen", whatever that means (this is rhetorical, i know what it means but i'm pretending i don't)
i've kind of been glossing over gym fights bc tbh? none of them have been that interesting so far but candice's was really funny so i'm gonna talk about that one. in another post because i think it deserves a separate one

Resort
cw: mostly fluff with a bit of saucier hints, talks about family starting,
pairing: Ingo/Reader
summary: You and Ingo go on a vacation Sinnoh after you worry he's been overworking himself.
The cool winds brushed against your skin as you walked out of the airport. Around, the hustle and bustle of Jubilife swarmed. A busy workday in the city that seemed to filter in your fellow tourists into the crowds. Your husband sighed and zipped his coat up at the temperature. Ingo gazed around at the city in interest. In comparison to Nimbasa, you could see many differences. The resemblance may have been closer to Castelia than the place you both called home. His watch as check as he called for you to follow him, so you did not miss your train to Snowpoint. He had apparently called in a favour with Elesa who had a friend who had a villa in the Resort Area.
Snowpoint was the only place where ships sailed out to the Battle Zone in Sinnoh, it appeared. He had wanted to see the Battle Frontier that was located on the island and have a nice place to retreat to from the stress that his job normally presented. You were not going to disagree with it, but wanted to explore the region itself a bit. Sinnoh was a place rich in history and culture. Ingo would agree to sightsee, you knew, but likely not until after he had got his battle fill in. The train ride to the northernmost settlement within the region was a beautiful one. The change from a developed urban place swelling with people into a quiet countryside, and once more into a wintery wonderland with no end in sight, kept you entertained for the trip.
Throughout it all, Mt. Coronet stood hauntingly among the scenery. It was the ever present sight of Sinnoh; its tallest mountain within its centre. You sighed as you read a random brochure speaking about pokemon now extinct that were believed to once reside in the region. A variant of Zorua and Sneasel caught your attention. You turned to show Ingo them, but stopped when you saw how fascinated he appeared with the train you rode in. It was certainly different from a subway train. The seating reminded you more of a bus or airplane than the trains you rode to get around Unova. You held on to the brochure.
There was always time to show him later.
Getting off at the station in Snowpoint, you shivered. Ingo's arm lightly pulled you closer to him. His warmth gently radiated onto your body as you both walked towards the next location. The sun shined from above upon the seemingly endless snow that piled in the area. It was clearly a constant struggle to keep it cleaned away from walking paths and streets. You soon reached the port and boarded your ship to the Fight Area. Then, you both found yourself on a bus around the island until you reached the Resort Area. Finally, you checked into the villa and passed out from jet lag.
~
The next day was spent deeply engaged with the exploring the island while Ingo challenged the Battle Tower. Perhaps there was a slight rivalry between them as they were both battle facility, or maybe it was simply Ingo's love and interest for pokemon battling that brought him there. You caught some sun and battles of your own while you walked about. Ingo had left a few of his companions in your care for company. You laughed as one person ran in terror from Haxorus. She leaned down to let you pet her, clearly startled by the loud noise. Garbodor cried when those around ran from him. Many treats were sneaked to him to calm his now distressed mind. By the late afternoon, you returned to find Ingo chatting with a blond man in a long green-coat.
Ingo politely motioned you over and introduced you to Palmer. He was the Frontier Head of the Battle Tower. You laughed. It was only natural that he and Ingo would hit it off. Palmer spoke eagerly about how he enjoyed opponents like your husband and hoped that he would return for another challenge. The twin nodded and agreed to one more before you both departed from the region back home. You worked together in the Survival Area until the sun began to sink into the horizon. That night, you were held close to Ingo.
“Thank you, dearest, for the suggestion,” he sighed, “I truly had no idea that I was that stressed out. Speaking with Palmer about duties as a battle head gave me new insights. I will have to tell Emmet all about them as soon as we return from here.”
You worried about poor Emmet.
~
A return to the mainland brought you to see Eterna. The statue in the town left you intrigued. Just what was the pokemon that stood proudly in here? Many locals had no idea, but referred to it as a deity. Ingo tilted his head at it. Back home, everyone who was interested could learn about the legendary dragons. Reshiram and Zekrom were simply a part of Unova's history. How old was Sinnoh? Nearby, you heard some teenagers gossiping about a supposed haunted location just out of town and giggled. Grasping Ingo's hand, you begged him to go into the forest with you. He was obviously confused, but went along with you. It was quite literally just out of the city as you turned to see the foreboding manor in the distance.
Ominous purple windows reflected the dimmed area as you leaned closer into Ingo. He tossed out Chandelure who let out a frightening melody when released. She swung excitedly and cried when you nervously pushed open the doors. Ingo followed closely behind you. The indigo glow of Chandelure's flames lit the dark, dilapidated home. Rotted houseplants that likely had not been taken care of in many years shrivelled depressingly. Once shining tiles sat covered in a fine layer of dirt and dust. As you approached the staircases, you swore the statue that stood by an archway's eyes followed you. “… I do believe if we encounter any ghosts, they will be of the pokemon variety,” Ingo tried to comfort you as he gazed around the second floor balcony, “A shadow ball from Chandelure will put an end to it, I promise.” She sang as if to reassure you, too.
Most rooms were empty, barring a few abandoned items, likely from rookie trainers. A few Gastly and Haunter attempted attacks that were stopped by Chandelure immediately. The stronger ghost type warded them off with ease. You felt strange as you went through some antiquated books left in the manor. One was seemingly from the early 1900s. It was rude to take such an item, but your curiosity was piqued. Ingo was clearly growing tired of the exploration, too. However, as you finished your tour by entering the dining area, a shadow of a man walked from the table off to the kitchen before disappearing. Ingo swore endlessly that it was likely a trick of the eye, but you felt confident in yourself.
Soon, you both left back for the island to spend the evening in. Your new book was tucked away with your items. You laughed while Ingo struggled to escaped from Excadrill napping on him. Eventually, you joined him in the suffering while the mole pokemon slept across both of your laps. You leaned your head onto his shoulder while some show about the region's professor played. “… I want a Bidoof,” you determined while watching the easy-going pokemon cuddle with their trainer, “We should catch one.”
“I would like to obtain a Gligar, but I must acknowledge that we have no idea where they are in this region,” he replied, “Any idea how we will go about getting them?”
“Sheer willpower, Ingo,” you joked, “I'm sure if we ask some people, they'll know.” He nodded.
Suddenly, he moved to peck a kiss to your lips.
“Let me pleasure you, dear,” he whispered against you, “I have not tasted you in days, and I miss it desperately.”
You were not going to deny him.

A few more days were spent relaxing around the Battle Zone or in the Battle Frontier, trying the different facilities offered. (You even chatted with Darach, who was actually the butler of the Elite Four member Caitlin of Unova. It felt awkward when you remembered she was Emmet's ex, but that went unmentioned.) Though, eventually, you found yourselves exploring Mt. Coronet on the mainland. Ingo was a bit frightening when it came to understanding the cave maps. Often times, your guide was led more by your husband than he led himself. The area around was steep and filled with cliffs, but the enjoyment of the natural sights and wonder it brought repaid the hard work to get around tenfold.
Ingo even seemed to enjoy the time there immensely. You would admit seeing your husband do rock-climbing was something amazing. It was a bit sad to see his Excadrill out-do him, but you supposed those claws had uses. As you both sat on a cliff overlooking western Sinnoh, you sighed. “Ingo! I never told you about them,” you remembered the brochure that you had read on the train. He turned to you with a cocked brow, curious as to what you were talking about. “I read this piece about extinct pokemon in Sinnoh! Did you know that had a Zorua and Zoroark variant that lived here?”
“I did not,” he responded, “They're quite rare, aren't they? Even back in Unova.” They were. You had tried to find one, thinking the kits were just the cutest little things. It was next to impossible to obtain one unless you wanted to go through someone who appeared just a bit suspicious. “Mhm, apparently they were ghost and normal type,” you told him, “They also had Sneasels, too, but their claws were meant for climbing.” Ingo nodded. He seemed to think for a moment before opening his eyes.
“A normal AND ghost type?”
You laughed.

Your final days were spent sightseeing historical locations or trying to sync up for multi battles in the Battle Tower. You were no Emmet, but you could attempt to read Ingo's plays. There were tears from all sides when you sent in Haxorus into an earthquake while Chandelure was on the field. Ingo stared at you with a horrified expression. Through sheer determination alone, you managed to get to Palmer. He waved you both over while a boy who resembled him was at his side. “Ah, it's you again, Ingo,” he nodded at the sight of the silver-haired man, “I see you decided to do a multi battle challenge with your spouse then. I'm glad, I wanted to battle with my son, haha.” His looked raring to go.
A quick glance showed a level of normal competitiveness from Ingo alongside a hint of… Envy? How odd. The battle was soon in full gear as your teams worked together in a desperate attempt to best their opponents. Everything seemed to be going well until Palmer praised Barry for a good strategy. Ingo's normal capabilities dropped. It was like a throw. Everyone congratulated each other afterwards, but you both found yourselves back at the villa. Ingo ran a hand through his hair. You sat down next to him, handing off a mug of coffee you poured for him.
“Ingo, is something wrong?” you asked, gently fluffing his hair. He sighed. A long sip was taken of the dark liquid. “He seemed happy with his child, didn't he? The way they bounced off each other,” Ingo noted, “I'm already in my thirties, and he is in his late thirties…” You hummed. Is that what he wanted? A soft laugh left you. Subtle, he was not. Ingo clearly adored helping children around the station and stared a little too long at families going through. A soft kiss was pressed to his temple. “… Maybe you're onto something there, Ingo,” you laughed, “A miniature you helping around the station and battling at your side sounds like a great idea.”
He gazed at you with tender eyes. They closed for a moment while he hummed. Another sip of his coffee came before he sat it down. “… I'm serious,” Ingo's hands grasped yours, “We're married, and I have financial stability. If you're ready, then I would love to start our own family.” You moved closer to him and rested your forehead to his. “I am, too,” you replied. A slight pink dusted his cheeks.
Your last evening in Sinnoh was spent intimately with one another.

You sighed as you left the public bathroom in Snowpoint. Something you ate that morning seemed to need to escape you, and travel by boat did not help the situation. Ingo helped guide you there before you rushed in. By the time you felt it was over, you assumed he might abandon you. “Ingo?” you asked, unable to spy your husband nearby. Stepping out into the open, you gazed around. A few people around were asked but had either not seen him or said that he was there just a moment ago. You felt panicked. His name was shouted a few times before you called his phone. He had put on his uniform again because he missed wearing it, he should have stood out like a sore thumb.
It rang. You looked around for men in a black long-coat. None were around.
But… You heard ringing.
Nearby the bathroom, you found Ingo's luggage, wallet, and phone. Nothing was disturbed. Had he gone to the toilet, too? You waited.
You waited endlessly.
But he never came.
Days, weeks, months went by without any news about where Ingo had disappeared to.
You regretted inviting him on a vacation.
You flipped through the book you had taken from the abandoned manor, and refused to sleep that following night.
Your husband stood posed for a picture with a strange Sneasel-like pokemon in a ruined version of his coat and hat.
