Some thoughts, from an irish girl living in in the uk, on the #MuslimBan: My mother, a sweet irish lady, reminded me the other day that it was the 20th anniversary of the day that she and my father immigrated to Texas from London. now, we have since moved back to London, but last week she went back to Houston for some business. there, she witnessed the effects of Trump's muslim ban - children separated from parents, young men and women being detained for hours upon end - and my heart broke when she told me that she never. NEVER. wants to go back to America for the duration of Trump's presidency. obviously, my family is not affected by the Muslim ban on travelling to the USA because we are white and we do not hail from a nationally Muslim country. However, it goes against my very idea of being a decent human being to NOT raise an issue with something i feel very strongly about. The Muslim Ban is wholly, completely, and without dispute, about race. Donald Trump's mother was an immigrant. His wife is an immigrant. Immigration and freedom of movement is a core aspect of how our world has become so interlinked, diverse, rich and cultured. It has brought uncountable economic opportunities. It has brought together friends, lovers, and families. If Donald Trump truly wanted to stop immigration, he would have also barred travellers from the UK, from Germany, from Russia, countries from all over the EU and all over the globe from entry to the US. But no, he is specifically targeting Muslim countries, and thereby, he is targeting the Islamic population - further proof of this is his statement that he would allow Christian Syrians in. This. Is. Pure. Unadulterated. Racism. I urge everyone, from all backgrounds, to campaign, shout and resist with every part of your soul against this clear violation of human rights, and this clear display of racism, and fight back against Donald Trump's war against freedom. And here is my call especially to those in the U.K.: we have seen Theresa May's meeting with Trump this week. It is clear to see that she will not stand up for our nation, that she will not uphold our values as a nation, and will instead bootlick the overgrown baby that wails from inside the Oval Office. If you do not wish to side with Donald Trump, if you do not wish to settle with May's feeble response to the violations of international law by Trump, then gather your forces, find your nearest organised marches and walk and shout and use your voice, a luxury that the people who need it most are being denied. Do not stop protesting until Theresa May shows the USA that Britain will not endorse Trump's racist regime of fear-mongering and oppression. Do not stop protesting until US nationals from the countries affected by the ban receive the freedom and justice they are entitled to. Do not rest until there is justice for ALL.

A page of digital drawings to get back on it for this half term week. I have started reading Homestuck (just got to Act 5) for the past few days and sculpting with monster clay instead of exercising my drawing skills, so it was very fun getting back on top of playing with CSP brushes and the like.
