So, I've decided to try this. I’m doing #Porgtober! (Ya’ll can join me if you want! Just A Quick Reminder

I got an ask earlier this evening calling me out for shipping so many “abusive ships”. Listen, I don’t care what you ship. I’m not gonna force you to ship what I do and I can’t make you see everything I do. I have no problem with that. The thing I have a problem with is the descriptor that was chosen. I know a lot of ant/s like to call r/ylo abusive. Wanna know why this is completely not okay? I’ll tell you. When you call a fictional ship (lemme emphasize FICTIONAL) abusive, you, whether you know it or not, are demeaning an entire population of people who have gone through that. When you call r/ylo abusive, you’re taking away the meaning of that word and taking away the ownership that victims have over that word. It normalizes and redefines what it means to be abused, and dehumanizes a group of people who have had enough dehumanizing to begin with. I have not personally gone through abuse in a relationship setting, so listen to the people who have. Stop fucking using this word because it’s driving me and a ton of other people up the goddamn wall. If you guys can reblog my stupid reporting on the silly things Pablo (Porglo) and Rian say to each other you can reblog this.
