you ever stare into the middle distance and just. think. about how Doctor Who series one episode eight "Father's Day" first signaled that time itself had gone screwy by having the radio start playing a song that didn't exist yet in 1987....... and then lapse right back into Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up." in an episode that aired on 14 May 2005. two full years before the invention of the rickroll.

Moderns who wanna be trad, really shouldn't pick the 50s to do it about if they wanna call themselves trad.
There was nothing "trad" about the 50s. First of all, the idea that women don't work and aren't involved in actual *production* let alone household production, was relatively new and... to a large degree, downstream of much of pre-war household production being augmented by technology and mass production. the idea that a household of five people could be supported on 40 hours a week, without the wife and children also being involved in production, was absolutely downstream of technology. So was a woman running a house without having to have a team of servants.
The "nuclear family" was a stepping stone toward atomization, in an economy that lasted for about... five minutes. It literally was a cultural artifact lasting twenty years only.
And it was futuristic as fuck, and downstream of technological innovation, not a return to the golden days, which most people actually remembered as quite horrible.
If you really wanna live in the spirit of the 50s for any reason but the shittiest and most sexist/racist parts of it, you'd want several Roomba's and a self driving car and would be the world's most annoying space nerd.
And you'd be great with stronger unions and you'd probably be okay with vaccines

So I've just read L's sxf liveblog that covers Twilight's past. And my heart broke to million pieces just like the first time I read the chapter 😭😭
But it got me thinking.
Storytelling wise, Yor's past will also be similarly heart breaking. And despite we already have little snippets of Yor's backstory, we actually haven't had any clear idea of how Yor or Briar siblings past went.
Before chp 62 is published, all we have regarding Twilight's past is just a story of his mother's lullaby and how safe he felt in his mother's arm.
Tumblr media
Take notice at how this can be considered as one "happy" memories of [redacted] that Twilight was willingly share towards Yor.
When chp 62 came, we finally know how "rare" this happy memory of Twilight is. And that his past were full of hardships and anger and vengeance until he finally found new "better" goals when he joins WISE.
Now if we compare the situation with snippets coming from Yor, we first have a scene of Yor wilingly share her past to Loid
Tumblr media
Take notice that this is also one of the "happier" memories coming from Yor's satisfaction towards Yuri's achievements. Yor is seen complimenting Yuri, and The Briar siblings looks happy.
Several other snippets of Yor's past come from Yuri's memories:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Take notice how in these memories all we have is the bright - always cheerful - always happy - smiling Yor. The smile that can brightened the world but even Yuri himself (and us fans) know and notice how Yor must have hiden her burden and thoughts alone. Which is one of the reason Yuri wanted to quickly become a capable man so he can return all the favor.
We know that both Twilight and Yor are very similar in never letting others know what burden they were thinking. They are so used to keep it hidden, that the only times we know they are having a deep thoughts, the only times they let it shows in their faces are only when they are alone:

Those dead eyes..... I can't...... 😭😭😭
When will this two learn to share whatever burden in their minds?? 😭😭😭
Anyway, nobody expected it when Twilight's past suddenly come to us in chp 62. Especially not after a silly second Tornitrus disaster.
We will never knew when will Yor's past came to us.
But we can be sure it will also break our heart. 💔💔💔
Tbh, I can't wait till Endo do that.
Oh, and when Anya's past came??? I'll be sure to be broken beyond repair. Because it is one thing to read or make or imagining the angsty past of the parents. But angsty children story??? 😭 Idk how to handle that.

Kyoko and Junko are two sides of the same coin, in terms of their Ultimate abilities.
Junko is the Ultimate Analyst, which lets her analyze and learn Talents, sure, but most importantly lets her predict what's going to happen in the future based on the data she has. Trends, people, interactions, relationships - all of that is something she can mentally and easily comb through to accurately guess at what will happen in the next step, two steps, three steps.
Junko's Talent lets her predict the future. Accurately.
Kyoko is the Ultimate Detective, which lets her analyze the past and figure out what happened to get people where they are now. She can look at people and determine their current everything and accurately determine how that grew out of their past everything. She observes to find motives to explain a current murder by gathering details that show what previously happened.
Kyoko's Talent lets her retrace the past. Accurately.
Between the two of them, they can see everything.

why do you think the clock on the first merch is not quite at 2:00?
this is about how for the the three Australia shows, they have each had special one night only merch and the clock on the main design has been set at 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 (369!!) but the 3:00 one is actually at 2:58 (I'm assuming this is a typo and anon meant not quite at 3)
I mean... possibly no good reason but on vibes only it makes me think "369 coming soon" or like, almost there, almost time for 369... does that make any sense??? I mean I absolutely would not be surprised if LT3 was just called 369 and it would be like Louis to tease that... (although to be clear I don't think we're getting LT3 before November, this would be "soon" in the cosmic and Louis sense)

what do you think of your local group? anyone you hate to death?
RP:
PotP: Ah, my local group! Well, I adore them all, they're wonderful people. Especially Nine Spiders' Dawn and Peace Never Achieved.
PotP: Though both Nine Spiders' Dawn and I have lost contact with the other three members of our local group... We can't really figure out the reason? I'm sure it's nothing!
PotP: I do love them all dearly though, I hope that I am able to talk to the others once more sometime soon.
PotP: As for hating someone? No, not particularly! Even those that hate me are just plain amusing. Honestly.

Can you talk about your totk time difference theory more? I don’t remember seeing you talk about it but I’ve had a very similar idea and want to see what your take is…
yes yes yes! i got into some of it here but that's very long and focuses more on the plot of totk in general so i'll go into the time difference theory specifically here!
as stated in the first post i made theorizing about totk, I think that totk and botw TOGETHER are going to function as one complete cycle. when i say "one cycle" I'm referring to one complete reincarnation cycle, from the beginning of link's journey to the true defeat of ganon. the standard formula for this cycle is 3-4 dungeons, (sometimes) a mini-boss, a catalyst event, 6-7 dungeons, and then the final battle. a good example of this is oot, where the first 3 dungeons are the ones you play through as child link, the catalyst is the aging-up of link after the temple of time, the 6 dungeons after that are the sages, and the final battle is when you face ganondorf in the castle. (the only thing this game is missing is the mini-boss, but you DO have a ganon encounter before the catalyst, it's just not an actual boss fight, so i consider the basic unit to still be intact. lol)
now, notably, in most games that follow this formula, after the catalyst event, a world-switch mechanic is introduced. in oot it's the switch between past and future, in tp it's the ability to control when link is in wolf form vs human, in alttp it's dark world vs regular hyrule, etc etc. botw, as a game, covers the cycle up until the shift in perspective. the divine beasts are the 4 initial dungeons and calamity ganon is the mini-boss. this means that, assuming totk is the second half of this cycle, a world-switch mechanic will likely be introduced along with the 6-7 dungeons before the final confrontation. I believe that the world-switch will likely be switching between the hero from 10k years ago mentioned in botw's framing lore and our present-day link. I think this is why we've seen two drastically different link designs in trailers up to this point but have yet to get an explanation about the green outfit. Seeing as no armor sets have been featured AT ALL in trailers aside from link's standard blue tunic and that green set, I think it's safe to assume that the outfit carries considerable narrative weight. I think it's likely the outfit that the 10k-years-ago hero wears to distinguish him from present-day link. my best guess as to how the world-switch will be framed is that it will have something to do with the arm. It's obviously got some special powers seeing as it seems to house the runes for this game, so I don't think it's too much of a stretch to suggest that it might be able to either connect the consciousnesses of the two links, show present link some of past link's memories, or otherwise allow the player to swap between times somehow.
That's the gist of it lol! i might be wrong but I honestly. don't think i am. i HOPE i'm right because one of the things i really REALLY want from totk is expansion upon botw's existing lore framework, ESPECIALLY irt the hero & ganondorf from 10k years ago.

If you do an Astarion painting I'm gonna evaporator /pos
Y'know what... It's kinda crazy, cuz I've literally been an Astarion stan since the beta, I'm collecting edits of him like it's pokemon cards too, but I just haven't talked about him on here at all lmao
I will definitely draw him, I guess I'm just gonna throw that out there; there might be a couple of pieces of him sprinkled in amongst everything else down the line. Thank you for the suggestion though, I've mentioned before how I feel pretty bad about drawing stuff from lots of fandoms at the same time, but idk, this time it does feel a little different ❤️

had a terrible thought but if hgsn came out like seven or more years ago you know for a fact that the general fandom would have Hikaru and ‘Hikaru’ be twins so there could be a love triangle between them and yoshiki. The top fics would have ‘Hikaru’ be mischaracterized as a zany yandere and Hikaru would be a wooden plank that Yoshiki occasionally thinks about when he isn’t smooching ‘Hikaru’. There’d be discourse on ‘hikaru’ x hikaru selfcest/twincest shippers. ‘Hikaru’ would have some fanon name like Urakih or smth like that. Also people would make Yoshiki shorter than ‘hikaru’.
