I'm just saying we've been waiting a long time for Ashton Kutcher to pop out and yell
"PUNK'D!"
starting to worry that all of this might be real

Quote
At times like these, Claire thought that maybe God did exist, not as some benevolent being or terrifying father, but as the omniscient equivalent of a prank show host. An Ashton Kutcher kind of God.

LOL all this talk about BM has YouTube recommending me this old Ben interview. At 2:06 he is asked whether he feels pressured to date M since A/R were dating and he responds by… switching the topic to Alan Dale LOL. From 4:17-5:13 he jokes about being on set when the Alex/Marissa kiss in the Rainy Day Women happened. A fun throwback to lighter times! v=nwdF_Q6D2Ds
youtube
That is a pretty fun interview, though I'm still sometimes surprised at how people cast aside and joked about bisexuality in the 2000s. I can only imagine what talk was like about that storyline on set.
The over-sexualization of that Marissa/Alex kiss scene reminded me of two things. First, how gross the woman who ~played~ Alex in the recent 2x14 table read did the scene (didn't she play Reed on the show?). Like the scene wasn't suggestive enough! Idk the way she read the dialogue was so icky to me. Like I said, imagine how people talked about the scene and storyline behind closed doors. WLW do not exist for people to laugh and jack off to.
Second, I watched Mischa's appearance on Punk'd last week and felt so uncomfortable the way Ashton spoke in the cold open (starts at 12:51) about wishing Mischa had leaked nudes. This aired in 2005 when she was 19! The 2000s were so nasty to women.

One smooch onto Punk'Anne's cheek from a certain Charmeleon. "Love you, P."
Punk'Anne appreciates the smooch, moving to cuddle up with Ashlin properly. "Thanks, A. And do you mind hanging around for a bit? I think my mom is out there making out with someone. It sounds so, so gross..."

Ashton Kutcher: you know him, you love him, he's the guy from Punk'd! He was also in That 70's Show, Dude Where's My Car? and he created an international human rights organization to protect children from sexual exploitation.
Antonine Barada was a real man who actually lived, but he also became a Paul Bunyan-esque folk hero. Here's a story about him from Wikipedia I liked: "He was once matched to wrestle with Jean Palos, a Greek wrestling champion... The mighty Palos was notorious for his rough treatment of an opponent. Antonine won the match by pinching his opponent with his toes while he slapped him into unconsciousness with one blow on his ear."
