julie storming into the garage because she can hear music and it’s two am and they need to shut up because the whole street will hate her for waking them up. but when she gets there luke and reggie just plead with their eyes, begging her not to get mad at their racket
because alex is absolutely going at the drums. his face is red and there’s dried tear tracks down his cheeks and he clearly needs this and all of julies rage just drops
(this just came to me so idk what the context is but it’s probably his parents. it’s definitely his parents)

I'm gonna take any "rebuke" I get in my askbox as a want for hcs unless otherwise specified so-
Rebuke hcs, my beloved <3 (part 3/?)
They play boardgames together a bunch (usually monopoly) and when they do they get super competitive to the point that they're yelling at each other and one time the neighbors filed a complaint
They will do the thing where it's like; Bobby to Reggie: I love you | Luke: you guys are disgusting | Except every time it happens the names are flipped am I explaining this right you know what I mean
Reggie eventually goes to get his nose pierced and Luke and Bobby hold his hands
Just!!!! Rebuke holding hands!!!!!
If they're walking while holding hands they'll swing them back and forth,,, and they don't let go unless they absolutely have to
They usually alternate between who is holding who's hand but usually it's Reggie or Luke in the middle because I will die on the claustrophobic Bobby hill
They have on many occasions attempted to sit and study/do homework together but they always end up getting distracted and never get anything done
Thinking about,,, Bobby and Reggie comforting Luke after he ran away from home,,, Reggie and Luke comforting Bobby after an argument with his parents and Luke and Bobby comforting Reggie after one with his,,,, just,,, Rebuke hurt/comfort please
Reggie likes to make bracelets and makes a ton of matching ones for them and at this point they have like twenty each but they refuse to take any of them off
They get one of those sets of heart necklaces that are magnets and can like lock together as a joke but they love them and once again, never take them off
*ahem* REBUKE CHEEK KISSES. REBUKE!!!!!!! CHEEK!!!!!!!!! KISSES!!!!!!!!
Whenever one of them is bored they won't leave the other two alone at all,,, they will do anything to get their attention,, if Luke is writing songs Bobby/Reggie will take his journal/pen and just throw it across the room, if Bobby is playing his guitar Reggie/Luke will push it to the side and just flop on top of him and if Reggie is studying/working on homework Bobby/Luke will just sit next to him and talk loudly in his ear
Whenever they go to eat at restraunts they all like to sit in booths but they don't want one of them to have to sit by themselves so they all squish together on one side
The first time Reggie wore a dress/skirt Bobby and Luke couldn't stop staring at him and Alex made the "close your mouth or you'll catch flies" joke
The only shirts Luke doesn't cut the sleeves off of are the ones that Reggie and Bobby give to him
Reggie and Luke doing something incredibly stupid and Bobby is just like "they're dumbasses,,, but they're my dumbasses" as if he doesn't contribute to the Dumbassery™ most of the time
Alex (lovingly) refers to them as Rebuke and Luke and Bobby (pretend to) hate it while Reggie takes it in stride
REBUKE!!!!!!!! MIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHARING!!!!!!!!! It gets crowded but they make it work
@queenmolina has said this before but I'm putting it in here because it's still on my mind,,, Bobby!!!!! And!!!!!! Reggie!!!!!! Putting!!!!! Little!!!!! Notes!!!!!! In!!!!! Luke's!!!!! Song!!!!! Journal!!!!!
Just little "I love you's" or "this line is great's" and sometimes little drawings in the corner aaAA
In conclusion: rebuke rebuke rebuke rebuke rebuke rebuke rebuke rebuke rebuke rebuke rebuke rebuke rebuke rebuke rebuke rebuke

alex’s pink clothing collection began as a gift from the boys for his birthday. he commented on a hoodie someone was wearing when they were busking at the pier but admitted he would never have the confidence to wear one, much less buy it from a store.
cue bobby straight up refusing to be embarrassed as he sifts through the sizing labels of all the pink hoodies. reggie and luke (who cannot be trusted to keep their hands off things in a store and so opt to stay outside) just watch through the glass as bobby in all of him emo-wardrobe glory picks up an iridescent fanny pack and blatantly ignores the quirked eyebrow of the cashier

okay so i’m obsessed with bobby being short for robin and all the bird nicknames that come along with that (also all of these!) so here’s what i propose robin called their boys to get back at them which definitely catches on with the group
luke - turkey. tell me he wouldn’t get called turkey when they’re on bird nickames. luke has turkey energy. also lark because... yeah <3
alex - it’s a bit on the nose but dove when they’re all being sweet together, phoenix when they’re trying to get him to ‘own his awesomeness’ and macaw casually because it sorta looks like mercer
reggie - the boys collectively call him raven as a nod to his clothing choice and reggie thinks it makes him sound really cool so he loves it. but when bobby calls him wren reggie melts

reggie comes in to rehearsal one day in crocs and bobby has to excuse himself for ten minutes to confirm that they do actually have a crush on croc-wearing reggie despite it going against all of their morals and opinions

bobby was in the system
i’m going into detail about how i imagine it just because that’s what anon asked me to do - if you think this might be upsetting then i advise you to stop reading here <3
i’m going to preempt this with some disclaimers
- i’m british so my pov of the system will be wrong, i’m not even going to try and translate it
- i’m not picking out sad/tragic things to be deliberately upsetting for the sake of an angsty backstory, this is just genuinely how i choose to imagine it happening
- this is a compilation of my friend and i semi-projecting onto our shared comfort character. im more than happy to share this because i really like this take for bobby, but please be sensitive in any comments you might make in (more for other people’s sake - im comfortable to discuss any of the content)
bobby doesn’t remember his parents. he lived with them for a time and from what people have told him, they were a really happy family. his mom was a therapist and his dad was an author. there are photos of the two of them smiling happily at the camera - some even had a small, baby-faced bobby bouncing on their knee, though they called him robin. it’s on all of his certificates, all of the documents. his name is robin. it doesn’t feel right
when he’s three, bobby’s parents pass. he thinks it must have been some kind of accident - to take them both in one go - but he doesn’t get offered any explanation. he’s almost immediately fostered into a family but there’s so many kids there that it’s basically a foster home. he’s one of the youngest and is immediately babied by all of the older kids which is where he starts to be selective about physical affection/contact with other people
he stays there until he’s six. all of the kids there get moved about when their ‘parents’ (it’s what the kids were told to call them but it never really applied) decided they actually weren’t cut out to look after a dozen children and threw in the towel
six year olds are a bit middle of the range in terms of how quickly people foster/adopt them but bobby’s gained a bit of a reputation for being ‘tricky to manage’ because he’s so fussy - he’s not fussy, he just wants people to stop mollycoddling him and give him some peace and quiet. he stays in a foster home for a year until eventually a couple take him in. but it doesn’t last long - they say bobby acts out and all of a sudden he’s back on the front step with his shopping bag of possessions and they’re passing ‘robin’ back as though he’s a library book and not a child
from the ages of eight to twelve, he gets passed back and forth from one place to the next. some are better than others, obviously. there’s the malone’s where the only other kid is their 17 year old biological daughter who thankfully doesnt much care for ambushing bobby like some of the others had. there’s the harper’s where bobby’s surprised they even passed the social worker visit because the house is a tip - but the carers are nice and he has his own room. there’s the vegaro’s who he even allows himself to hug when he had to leave. the rest of them aren’t even worth remembering. they never lasts, even the nice ones always go wrong. he’s back in the foster home every time he begins to get settled
when he’s twelve, the rate at which he gets fostered slows again. he sidles along with the older kids who seem to have given up hope and spend their days causing trouble or sneaking out of the home just because they can. bobby doesn’t go with them for a few months - until he realises that it’s fine. no one will care if he disappears for a few hours. will they even care if he doesn’t come back at all?
on his thirteenth birthday, one of the carers helps him gather his stuff from his bunk and shove it all into a bag. he’s fed up of trying to find a real home so when a woman shows up to take him, he doesn’t even try for a smile
it’s his aunt. his biological family. she has the same soft features as his mother in the photos and the same dark, pin-straight hair. somehow it manages to hurt more when she wrinkles her nose at his attempts of a conversation
her husband is nice. jerry, his name is. a portly man with a receding hairline and a frequent habit for offering bobby a sip of his beer. he’s not related to bobby by blood but it’s nice to feel like someone’s on his side
his aunt hates him. she doesn’t say it out loud - not when bobby’s in the room - but he sees how she looks at him. he hears her arguing with jerry about him sometimes and saying nasty things about his mother too. she and jerry seem to fall out a lot
she leaves one day. and doesn’t come back.
for once, bobby doesn’t get sent back to the foster home. if anything, he feels more welcomed once his aunt had gone. he and jerry feel like family - a little strained but bobby thinks that must be how all families feel. they watch tv together and even share hobbies. jerry even bought him a guitar, something brand new and for bobby and not second hand. bobby was worried he would have to give it back when the time came for him to return to the home but that wasn’t something to worry about right now. he meets jerry’s friends and family and for once, bobby feel like he has a family of his own
this is also the longest he’s ever stayed at one school. he thinks he might be making friends (he can call them friends this time, they’re not allies. they’re friends)
when he’s fifteen, jerry passes. he hadn’t been very well, it had been getting worse. bobby had seen that it was coming and had half-packed a bag before it had even happened
his new friends from school come to the funeral and sit with him on the front row of pews. alex - who was a foot taller than the rest of them - cowers a little from all of the attention. luke pulls at his sleeves and collar, clearly uncomfortable in the fancy get up, but he offers a sad smile whenever bobby catches his eye. reggie isn’t sure what to make of the whole thing but he can see that bobby’s upset and their shoulders knock together whenever reggie wants to remind him he’s not alone. at one point, bobby even takes reggies hand in his. he would be embarrassed or uncomfortable at the contact except he’s lost his family and he’s probably going to lose his friends too
instead of going back to the group home, he’s asked to move in with jerry’s mother, althea
she has a pretty big house and a garage which she converts into a space for bobby to hang out. he’s still unused to having his own room so to have two feels a little overwhelming. he invites his friends over to fill the space and when luke asks to start a band, bobby allows him to convert the garage into a makeshift studio. althea doesn’t mind, in fact she encourages it.
bobby isn’t the best at putting his thoughts into words but he can put them into action so when the boys start having trouble at home, he makes one thing very clear: the studio is their home. the studio belongs to all of them and if they ever need a place to stay, they should stay here. this is their home, where they’re loved and looked after. bobby tells them this in fewer words but he hopes they understand
(he’s not sure why the boys are so upset about their home lives - bobby would do anything to be with his parents. that is until he sees alex stifling hot tears or luke choking up over his test results or reggie knocking on his bedroom window at two am, desperate to escape the noise. then he gets it)
luke moves in and bobby starts carting his dinners to the studio to eat. althea pretends not to notice that there’s another boys clothes in her laundry loads and just starts doubling bobby’s food portion to make sure they both get enough
then it goes wrong. and bobby loses another family.
althea teaches him things to keep him distracted. she shows him how to knit, teaches him more tagalog, more recipes. it does nothing to make him feel better but he could never tell her that. he’s grateful for every moment she spends with him. she didn’t owe him anything and yet she took him in. the least he could do is try to smile and forget about his boys for a moment. for her.
she’s the one that encourages him to keep creating music, to make them a legacy they can be remembered by. it doesn’t work out that way in the end and she’s the only person that understands how the guilt weighs him down quite so much
years later, when he’s told that he’s going to be a father, his first thought is to run. he can barely cope with being responsible for himself, let alone another person. but it wasn’t his choice, she was going to have the baby. he was going to be a father
carrie is three when her mother leaves. it feels like another cruel twist of fate, like a knife in his gut. he always wondered when it would be his turn to go. he’s 29 and maybe he should’ve gone 26 years ago with his parents, or 14 years ago with jerry, or 12 years ago with his boys. but he would not let carrie have his struggles. so he cries to althea alone and puts on a brave face for his daughter

don’t think about bobby feeling insecure about his place in the band. he hangs to one side, on the outskirts. everyone forgets the rhythm guitarist. he knows they love him but they just seem so,,, distant. he wishes he had a bit more attention. he’s not jealous but he just wants to be acknowledged a little more. it’s a recent thought. it’ll pass soon. he’s not jealous.
and then he’s guilty. so guilty. because how could he let himself think that. it was supposed to be their night. the night when everything changed. and it did and he’s so guilty for the thoughts. because he wanted attention but not like this. he wanted attention from them, from his boys. not from the world. not on his own.

bobby definitely brought luke semi-healthy meals everyday while he was staying in the garage. they were teenage boys so it was nothing much better than cold pizza and an apple or a granola bar once a week but he tried
anyway, they definitely woke up the morning after the incident and got two servings of breakfast to take to eat in the garage and when he got there—

reggie searches through julie’s garage for ages until he finds his banjo. he needs to see something familiar and he loves his bass but he needs the banjo. he can’t quite remember why it would be so buried. it was out with all their instruments when they left for the orpheum performance 25 years ago and nothing else seemed to be quite so hidden.
after weeks of routing, he finally realises why he can’t find it. of course, he has to double check before he’s certain but sure enough. there it is.
tucked in the corner of trevor’s closet, the initials they had engraved into the glossed wood with their nails still prominent and on show

okay i see all your elena rose headcanons and i guess i’ll join in:
sage mercer-williamson
okay so they had been discussing adoption for a while and there’s a lot of things to consider. it’s a long process, it’s a big deal. this is a child that they will be responsible for and it’s scary but they have so much love to give
as soon as they were sure (100% sure because there was no way either of them would adopt if they weren’t sure it would be the right thing for them and their child. their child!) they fill out all the forms and alex still hasn’t quite got his head around that two men are allowed to do this
then they’re waiting. it’s a slow process. such a slow process.
a social worker meets up with them to assess their living space and there’s so much unnecessary stress (“are drum kits allowed? do i need to pack it away? we really should put away the spray paint, they’ll think we’re vandals. what if they think we’re a vandal and a drummer?” “we are” “shut up”) but the woman arrives with her clipboard and a bright smile and assures them that they’re officially on the wait list
there’s another few forms they need to fill out: the demographic of their area, if they’re willing to take a teenager or siblings. as soon as they submit them it happens.
sage is 2 years. a halo of black curls frame her face, bouncing as she wobbles on her feet. she’ll be 3 in a few months. she has nearly all of her teeth which she uses to chew on a little cuddly lamb. she’s clinging onto the social workers hand and her dark eyes are watery but she’s not crying. they spend the evening with sage in a newly decorated bedroom and trying to find the balance between overwhelming her and completely abandoning her for the evening. it’s hard but they were told a few of her favorite movies and so they’re content just to watch her watch the TV before helping her into bed.
they wish her a goodnight and when she smiles at them for the first time that evening, alex feels his heart twist with so much love.
elena is a few years older than sage and julie had warned that her daughter was overly excitable today. willie holds sage close as they enter the patterson-molina household. the three of them (their perfect little family) seem to hold their breath while they settle onto the couch but as soon as elena starts passing around her mini instruments, everything seems to fall into place.
sage squeals with delight while elena hits a keyboard haphazardly and grips a maraca with a small fist. she whacks it against the coffee table a few times before willie elbows his husband and nods to their daughter. luke even suggests that she and elena would make a good band.
reggie comes around to meet the newest member of their family and brings a small army of stuffed toys that she decorates her bedroom with. becoming her favorite uncle, he belts out a few disney tracks with her, bouncing around in a replica of her toddler dancing. she sleeps soundly that night for sure.
anyway i’m not sure where this is going anymore but willex love their family so much and i love to think about that

Hey bestbee have any willex/boggie hcs you could share?
ooh ooh ooh (i’m making these up on the spot but when am i not)
for willex
willex challenge each other to organise the most extravagant date
it starts really tame because alex is nervous and willie is trying not to be a criminal for their boyfriends sake
then it builds up to the point where they’re poofing to paris for the weekend
willie took alex to antarctica once but it lasted all of five seconds because yup ghosts can feel the cold nice to know
alex prefers more ‘sophisticated’ ones but they make them entertaining
they go to that restaurant where you sit in complete darkness but because they can’t eat, they just sit there in the corner of the room leaning on each other and talking. it’s surprisingly nice to be able to turn some senses off every now and then
for boggie
crooked teeth was a poem bobby wrote that luke found and put music to
reggie is as clueless as anything and just thinks luke wrote it about that musician he fancies this week
bobby isnt against physical contact, just very very specific about who can touch him, where and when (it’s a sensory thing and they like to be aware of what to expect)
but reggie is more than happy to let bobby initiate. whenever reggie wants contact, he makes sure to check it’s okay and is really clear about what he wants (“id like to hold you hand while we walk to the pier if that’s okay?”)
sometimes even that feels like too much and they just hold pinkies
reggie was initially really against watching star wars, his dad hates it and reggie just really wants to have something in common with him
but bobby is a nerd!! they’re the reason reggie gets invested and they’re always talking fan theories until stupid o’clock in the morning

Hey bestee! Can’t think of any questions but do you have any random headcannons or fics that you would be willing to share pls?
(Sorry brain empty, no thoughts just willex and Julie Molina)
sorry it’s taken me so long to reply!!
asfhsh okay uh i’ve got a few fics on the go but not anything i can share yet ;) —(meanwhile my currently posted ones are here!)
anyway, playing to your thoughts, here’s some hcs for willex and julie
julie can’t see willie unless they’re touching alex
but they get on like a house on fire and have the best conversations about everything and nothing and they have a really similar sense of humour
they like to cause trouble by pranking the boys - alex gets of quite lightly on the pranks because he’s hard to catch by surprise, especially given that he’s stood besides them while they plan, reluctantly holding hands with willie so they can be seen (is it reluctant? no, but he plays up to it)
willie and julie try and entice creatures to get onto willies skateboard by leaving twig ramps against one side and snacks on the top. so far they’ve managed to get pictures of a frog on the skateboard, but they’re aiming for a hedgehog next
alex’s face is just 😑 as he traipses after willie as they hide behind trees to watch if their plan works
willie and julie don’t talk while they hide and so presumably don’t need to see one another, but alex loves the way they light up when they make eye contact as they watch the skateboard so he holds willie’s hand through that too
