The rain beat down the side of the Bebop and Jet sat alone in the control room smoking a cigarette. Spike had gone out to do errands and Faye was god-knows-where. Ed was napping.

All was, for once, quiet.

Ganymede's weather was always awful in the winter. Jet had almost forgotten how the chill and gloom got under your skin and sunk into your bones.

He'd been too long away. The seasons changed on Ganymede with subtlety, but they changed like nowhere else. Jet supposed that he hadn't really taken note of it when they'd collected the bounty on Rhint.

Alisa had disappeared, much like last time, without a word. That was fair. They had said all they needed to each other.

He tilted his chair back and stubbed out the cigarette butt into the nearby ash tray. Turning to check the clock, he scrolled listlessly through the ship's log.

"Faye, hold the door for me! Faye!"

"My bad, Spike. You're really weighted down there aren't you?"

"Yes, now if you could just help!?"

"A lady never carries a heavy load if she has a gentleman to help her."

Jet smiled as Ein barked and the others walked in, Spike all disheveled from the rain and Faye as flawless as usual.

"Get in here and close the door, I'm not paying to heat the outside!"

"Yeah, yeah."

The crew settled in for the day.
