The okapi was 'discovered' as recently as 1901, as a result of the Westerners dismissing the stories about them as folklore until once was actually acquired and studied. Because of this, the okapi was used as the official symbol of the International Society of Cryptozoology and is broadly recognized as a symbol of cryptozoology as a whole :)
Okapi image:
[Image ID: a brown animal resembling a horse with the head of a giraffe. The neck is elongated but shorter than a giraffe's. The legs are striped like a zebra.]

Another fun fact about Zairrie:
Omi is her godfather and long time babysitter as ironically one of the few people Jack trusted to keep her safe (as she didn't have power's like her siblings)
Omi also taught her how to fight and all about the Shen-gon-wu
So you can imagine how heartbreaking it was when Zairrie wasn't picked to be a Xiaolin Dragon.

// this has absolutely nothing to do with anything but in this canon Nemona is terrified of clowns and anything clown related like Mr. Mimes and Mr. Rimes. I just like that idea that I will probably never use but it is now known

Random Fact #6,542
A century before Rosa Parks, there was Elizabeth Jennings
In 1854, she refused to get off of a streetcar that only allowed white passengers.
She was arrested. She sued (and won), and her case led to the eventual desegregation of NYC's public transit.

In linguistics, there's a feature called nominal number, which is the method by which languages indicate the number of the noun being referenced. (English is boring. It only has singular and plural.) Of these, the most uncommon feature is trial: a feature that refers to exactly three of something.
Sorry it's a bit late :) /silly

If you get this, answer w three random facts about yourself and send it to the last seven blogs in your notifs! Anon or not, doesn’t matter, let’s get to know the person behind the blog :)
I'm an Aries ♈
When I was in 2nd grade I got a bad staph infection in one of my stepping on something then getting into a swimming pool and had to be hospitalized, then on an IV all summer. My family waited so long to take me to the doctor (2 weeks!) I thought I was gonna lose a foot tbh
I am from Shreveport, Louisiana and before I moved to Austin, TX at the time I took a self tour of spots wherw they filmed scenes from season 1 of True Blood. Unfortunately they didn't film most of the series there 😔 just some of season 1. Also I am a huge True Blood fan! 🩸
A bonus fact is that I checked out Samuel L. Jackson when he came into the grocery store I was working at at the time. He was filming some movie in Shreveport lol.

You should all know that, before arriving in Chapter 16, Cullen was absolutely, positively, smoothing his hair, fluffing up his mantle, and planning a smooth entrance.
