law - fire
Trying to calm your breathing down you closed your eyes, doing your best to not panic.
“You ok in there?” Shachi called out.
“What’s the temperature reading?” That might’ve been Bepo. You couldn’t tell.
You’d gone into the boiler room of the submarine to try and fix an issue with the central temperature.
The submarine was supposed to be descending toward the abyssal zone, and with pressures as high as they were going to be there was no room for error with the temperature.
Before you could finish, something that was moving fast hit the side of the Polar Tang, resulting in the door locking you in.
Law had designed the functional rooms of the ship to be perfect.
The boiler room locked from the inside, so that if there were ever an issue with a pressure change, any explosion would be contained to the source of heat.
You heard some debris clatter on the outside, followed by what sounded like a loud, metal clang.
A high-pitched beeping noise started to sound through the small room.
80°
You pressed the down arrow five times. With the way it had been programmed, the boiler room shouldn’t be above seventy five degrees.
Your stomach started to twist, and nausea climbed up your throat when the number didn’t change, and after a few more second read
83°.
“Y/n! You okay?!” Bepo and Shachi had started to move some of the debris that was blocking the door, “Something hit us!”
“The temperature is going up in here, it’s at eighty-three and the buttons aren’t working!”
“Hold on,” Bepo called out, “We’re moving the stuff from in front of the door, we’ll pass you the key from under the door.”
You steadied your breathing and managed to settle your nerves the slightest bit.
A silver key slid under the door and you grabbed it.
“You should be good to open the door now.”
You placed the key in the lock, and started to turn it when the ship took another hit.
This one sent you flying into the wall.
You heard Shachi and Bepo’s impact.
Your head was pounding and you fumbled around looking for the key, unable to find it.
You could hear yelling coming from outside.
“Shit! Bepo- try and move that stuff!”
You assumed Shachi had left as you heard footsteps .
Slowly you got up, your head was starting to stop spinning.
You still couldn’t find the key and tried jiggling the handle
An unnatural rattling sound was coming from the handle.
Fuck.
The key had broken off inside it, and the jagged edge that you could just barely get a finger around was too sharp to try and turn.
The temperature in the room continued to rise.
Your palms had started to sweat and you felt your chest contracting more and more with each breath.
The heat was starting to fill you up from the inside out.
You ran to the thermostat, frantically pressing the cooling button.
94°
“Y/n?!” Bepo called, banging on the door, “I moved all the stuff! Try to open the door!”
“I can’t!” you yelled, your voice straining, someone was yelling- Law,  maybe? What had happened? “The key broke in the door! Bepo- the temperature won’t stop rising!”
Bepo continued banging on the door- you knew that he was starting to panic.
98°
You sunk to the floor, looking for a way out- anything.
You twisted the door knob with so much force that you worried you might have broken it. Not that it made a difference.
106°
Bepo’s banging stopped and you started to panic again.
The yelling could still be heard in the background.
“Bepo?”
No answer.
Sweat was dripping down your back and your palms were sticky. Your hair clung to your forehead and it was getting harder and harder to breathe- whether that was because of your panic or the heat you could not tell.
You peeled off your boiler suit, which offered you some temporary relief.
Sitting in a pair of shorts and a tank top now, you simply sunk against the door- banging on it occasionally.
“Bepo!!” You yelled.
That damn bear.
Where was Law?
You perked up at the question.
Where the hell was your captain?
118°
You decided you’d try the key, taking a deep breath before grabbing onto the jagged metal edges with all the strength you could muster.
You felt the metal slip past your skin, digging into the flesh of your hand.
Blood dripped down your arm in a warm, steady stream and you strained to turn the key.
It wouldn’t move- too little of it was exposed.
Black dots started to dance in your field of vision, and you felt yourself slipping out of consciousness.
It was so impossibly hot, your mouth felt dry and tacky- like a thin layer of warm glue had been poured inside it.
Your head was pounding and your lungs felt like they were full of sand.
As you started to faint, you thought you saw a pale blue glow cover the room.
You smiled to yourself before you slipped out of consciousness.
Better late than never.
131°
“Room.”
“Lift her arms,” Law ordered.
The feeling of biting cold sent a spark running down your spine as two ice packs were placed under your arm.
You blinked your eyes open, a dull pain still drumming in the back of your head.
There was something sturdy behind your chest, and you felt a hand resting on your stomach.
You tried sitting up, but the hand on your stomach held you in place.
“Not yet, Y/n.”
“Law.”
“You have heat stroke- please don’t move. Stay right there, for me.”
You relaxed back against him.
“Bepo- hand me another ice pack. Is the bath ready?”
“Almost, Shachi’s getting more ice.”
You strained to sit up again, this time Law held you down with slightly more force.
“Y/n. I’m serious,” his tone froze you in place, “Do not move.”
“The boiler room-” you started, “‘s too… hot. Pressures- Gonna go up.”
Your speech was slurred and everything in your body felt so heavy.
You felt Law look back up at Bepo and nod.
“Ok, come on.”
He lifted you up, holding you bridal style to try to keep you as relaxed as possible.
“This isn’t gonna feel great,” he said, “But you need to stay in here for at least twenty minutes.”
“Law,” you mumbled, “ ‘s very nice of you.”
Slowly, he lowered you into the makeshift tub- a large plastic bin that was usually used for storage was filled with ice and water.
The cold was biting and an icy burning spread throughout your body- lighting up your nerves as you were completely submerged.
“Dunk your head in. Just once.”
You sleepily shook your head.
Law sighed, “Alright, I’m gonna help you do it, ok?”
Your hands gripped the side of the tub, and you relaxed slightly when he brought a hand to rest on your neck and gently lowered your head down.
He helped you back up, his steady grip taking the stress off of your body.
Bepo had been sent out of the room to help the others in fixing the rest of the ship.
You sat up and leaned back against Law’s chest, drenching him in ice cold water.
He winced.
“Not so great, hm?”
“No, not so great.”
You sat there, resting against him for a while. Slowly feeling yourself regaining strength.
You had acclimated to the temperature and the sensation that replaced the freezing cold was somewhat nice.
“What happened?”
“Underwater volcano, if you’d believe it.”
You laughed, still too tired to hold a full conversation.
“I’m sorry…” Law started, “I’m sorry I didn’t get you out of there sooner.”
He sounded so sad- you turned to look at him.
“Law, everybody did the best they could- Even me, look.”
You lifted up your hand to show him the injury to find it had already been bandaged.
He smiled at you.
“What kind of doctor would I be if I hadn’t noticed that, huh?”
You gave him a gentle smile.
You could tell that he wasn’t fully convinced, and still felt guilt at having taken too long to rescue you.
Before he could even react you wrapped your arms around him, pulling him into a hug that you shouldn’t have had the strength to give.
You could feel tension spark throughout his body, but after a few seconds his arms found their way around your waist and pulled you back in.
You let go first.
He followed, a few seconds after.
“If you really want to make it up to me,” you said.
“I do,” Law answered.
“Never give me boiler room duty again.”
zoro - earth
You had four hours to get to the Sunny.
By noon you and Zoro had to traverse through eight miles of thick, unwelcoming jungle.
It was humid and neither of you were looking forward to the journey but you had a mutual respect for the other, and though it was never said out loud, shared an enjoyment of each other’s company.
Zoro liked your good natured humor and admitted to himself that you were easy on the eyes.
You liked Zoro’s stoic nature and admired his relaxed composure.
Your fighting styles were perfectly complementary. Zoro attacked first and thought later. His cuts and slices were executed with a terrifying precision and he was able to readily turn on his animalistic attack mindset. You, on the other hand, were thoroughly analytical. Zoro possessed the skill to not have to worry too much about reading an opponent beforehand, but you were able to read them as fast as he could draw his swords. Able to pick apart formations and fighting styles before they could even get a hit in, you were able to direct Zoro and predict enemy attacks perfectly.
He’d never openly admit it but he liked taking directions from you. To him, independent and capable as he might have been on his own, it felt like he was a sword and you were the hand that guided it.
He made the final cut, but it was you who had swung in the right direction.
Needless to say, you had both set off on your journey toward the Sunny with very few complaints.
The humidity increased, the further you got into the thick green that covered the island.
You pushed through miles and miles of green leaves and branches.
It was lively, the sounds of bugs scuttling across the floor, birds crying from the canopy above, and frogs chirping and yelping filled the scenery with the noise of life and energy.
You were humming to yourself, enjoying the warm weather and snacking on the chips Sanji had packed for you, handing the bag over to Zoro when he reached his hand toward you.
You’d made good progress in the two hours you’d been walking and agreed you could afford to sit down to eat lunch.
“Haha! I do remember that!”
“Or what about when that moron of a cook though he and Nami had us beat in trivia night-”
“And they lost to us in the category of cooking!”
You and Zoro were both laughing. Not such a rare occurrence when the two of you were together.
Zoro’s head suddenly snapped around.
You felt it too, the hairs on your neck rising.
A chill ran through your body and you turned to press your back against his.
“I can’t tell where they’re coming from.”
“Neither can I.”
Your breathing was in sync and you both waited, weapons at the ready.
In a split second the tension broke and your attackers revealed their position by shooting an arrow.
“On your left!”
You jumped to the side as a flurry of arrows flew past your head and heard the sound of blows being dealt by Zoro as he handled his side.
You pulled your throwing knives from your bag where they rested and aimed at the enemy.
Flashes of shiny steel flew through the colorful greens and teals of the forest, the sound of metal against metal echoing in the open space.
You and Zoro fighting together was truly a sight to behold.
You set up every hit he got, and the hits you got were courtesy of Zoro.
It was like a sport for the two of you, a team working perfectly in sync.
Skill aside, your ability to guess his next move paired with his ability to accommodate his hits to the blows you landed, made the two of you nearly impossible to beat.
After only ten minutes of fighting, you’d taken out more than half of the group ambushing you.
Your blades were dripping matching shades of red, and it wasn’t long until the remaining attackers ran.
A stray arrow was stuck in a tree and you pulled it out to inspect it.
Thick, green liquid dripped off the end of it.
Poison.
“Y/n!” Zoro called.
You dropped the arrow and ran to his side.
“Who was that? I didn’t recognize anything about those attackers?” you asked.
“Same here, but it doesn’t matter. Could’ve just been bounty hunters.”
“Working as a team? Unlikely.”
He shrugged.
“Either way, they’re gone.”
You nodded and followed behind him as you continued your walk toward your crew.
A dull throbbing had started to spread throughout your body. You had a headache, too, but shrugged it off.
You walked for another few minutes before you felt liquid trickle down your throat.
You pressed your hand to your neck, pulling away when you felt a warm film cover your fingers.
There was a small gash on the right side of your neck-  you’d been hit.
“Fuck!”
Zoro turned around, eyes widening when he saw the wound.
He ran toward you and pressed a hand against your neck to stop the bleeding.
“Shit, shit, shit! Ok- Ok, um, just stay calm,” he was panicking, sweat was lining his brow.
 He reached into his backpack and pulled out a napkin that was meant for your lunch.
He held it against your neck and you started to feel faint.
You felt your right foot lock. You tried to move it but it felt like trying to move a steel ball with only your pinky finger.
“Zoro…” the fear in your voice was evident.
The swordsman sat you down against the trunk of a tree and held your hair up with one hand as he held the cloth to your neck.
You started feeling faint, and a slowly increasing feeling of nausea was spreading throughout your body.
“We need to get the poison out.”
You nodded, the strength slowly leaving your body, like water flowed from a leak.
He rummaged through his backpack which contained only the lunch Sanji had packed you, a standard first aid kit that Chopper had insisted you take with you, and a broken compass he had forgotten to throw away.
He grabbed the first aid kit and frantically dumped it out.
You pointed at the gauze and Zoro grabbed it.
“Okay… I’ll, um, wrap this around… your neck?”
You nodded, “But we still need to get the poison out.”
You winced in pain, doubling forward.
You grabbed a few pills Chopper had thrown in and swallowed them as Zoro continued to try and calm himself down.
“It’s spreading.”
Zoro’s head was pounding- this was definitely not his area of expertise and there was nothing in the kit that said ‘Poison Remover’.
“H-how do I,” he asked, overwhelmed, “Just tell me what to do.”
He might not have any medical knowledge but he’d be damned if he let a crew mate die on his watch.
Especially you.
Your eyes had started to close and he was set in his resolve to save you.
Get the poison out, he thought.
As he felt your grip on his arm loosening something in his brain clicked.
He brought his arm around your neck, letting your head rest against his bicep.
His lips wrapped around your neck, and you felt his warm tongue swipe over the shallow wound.
You hissed as he traced his tongue back over it, his saliva coating your soft neck in a thin glaze.
A slight pressure built up as he started to suck the poison out, occasionally spitting it out on the ground next to you.
You made it with a half hour to spare.
The rest of your crew warmly greeted you, happy to see you having made it safely.
You walked onto the ship, Zoro staying by your side, like a knight does with a princess.
Sanji was the first to notice the bandage wrapped around your neck.
“Y/n-chwan!! Are you hurt? What happened?”
You shook your head, “I got hit with a poisonous dart. But I’m okay.”
You gave Zoro a thankful look.
Sanji further inspected the wound, noticing the deep purple and red hickey that sat right on top of the gash.
“What… exactly happened?” he asked, shooting a glare in the swordsman’s direction.
“The poison had started to spread and, uh…” your voice trailed off.
You weren’t sure if Zoro wanted to announce his heroics to the crew.
He stood taller and crossed his arms in front of his chest.
“And I sucked it out,” he announced.
He sounded proud enough, but his increasingly red cheeks implied otherwise.
There were mixed reactions..
Sanji was furious and started to bicker with him, Luffy and the boys were laughing, but Nami, Robin, and Chopper all seemed confused.
“But,” Nami had started, “I thought that that doesn’t work-”
You cut her off and shot her a look, that said Don’t say anything.
“I would’ve died if it weren’t for him.”
Robin giggled and ushered them all back inside to finish lunch, explaining to a very confused Chopper what was going on.
You and Zoro were left alone on the deck.
“Thank you,” you whispered, bringing a hand to rest on his shoulder, “You saved me.”
He looked away from you, rubbing the back of his neck and nodded.
“Anytime.”
Of course, you knew that sucking the poison out of a wound was an outdated myth.
It was the pills that had saved you.
But Zoro had been hellbent on saving you and did everything in his power to keep you alive.
He believed he had saved you.
And you’d be damned if someone told him otherwise.

one piece boys reaction to a f!reader who cries whenever she is angry (include whoever you want, but put Law, Zoro and Sanji please)
agagagaga i love requests like these <3 sorry it’s a bit long but i hope you enjoy!!
Character(s): Law, Zoro, Sanji
WC: 1,460
Reader Who Cries When Angry
Law
Tumblr media
It was just a simple misunderstanding...why did you get so frustrated???
No. It wasn't your fault...it was HIS
Your boyfriend, Law, had asked that you accompany him on exploring the newest island, YOU, like only and specifically you
Of COURSE you thought this was a date kinda thing because it had been like 100000 years since Law had taken you out and omgomgomg you were so excited
You had put on a little bit extra makeup and did your hair nicer as you met Law on the docks
"You look nice," he commented. You screamed and did a little dance in your head but put on a calm smile for him
It seemed Law had made up his mind on where you two were going because instead of heading to town, you were both trudging up a hill in the middle of the woods
Maybe he was bringing you to a flower field....OR maybe he was going to give you a big old kiss under a cherry blossom tree
Ok maybe you were a bit ahead of yourself...but you couldn't help but wonder???
Then Law abruptly stopped in front of you and crouched down over a bush. You decided to repeat his actions to find out what he was staring at. There were small berries in the bush, all with different colors and sizes.
He opened his bag and pulled out a notebook and pen and handed it to you.
"Write as I talk," he commanded, and who were you to disobey your captain.
Law went on for what seemed like forever about these berries and described them all in detail. You wrote down as much as you could till your hand started to cramp, but thank god by then he was basically over.
He mumbled a small thank you as he took the notebook back, quickly revised the notes you had taken, and stood back up.
"Alright lets head back"
What...did he mean...head back...
WHERE WERE THE FLOWERS AND THE KISSES?????
"Law...." you asked calmly, "what are we doing out here?"
Law looked at you a little funny and said, "Well I read that these berries are only found on this island. I read about their different properties and wanted to see them for myself."
"And why did you choose me of all people to come out here with you..?"
"Well you have the neatest handwriting."
That had done it.
You wanted to scream and yell and make angry hand gestures at him....but all you could do was cry
It was like a dam broke and you just couldn't stop
Law looked more confused than he had ever looked in his life...then rushed over to you like the good boyfriend he SHOULD HAVE BEEN
Law continued to ask what was wrong...but all you could do was cry
When you FINALLY calmed down...you explained to him that you thought this was a date...and were ANGRY at him for not making it one
Lets just say this story ends with Law buying you icecream and giving you a million kisses mwah mwah
Zoro
Tumblr media
In his defense he had no clue you were gonna start crying
He just wanted to give you a taste of your own medicine
You always LOVED to prank him along with Luffy and Usopp
None of those pranks were CRAZY...just little silly tricks like banana peals on the floor to slip on or throwing water balloons at him...but either way they annoyed him
SOMEHOW he thought of the genius idea to prank you back...
Though Zoro's definition of a prank IS NOT what you'd think it was.....
The crew had just arrived on a new island and everyone went their separate ways to explore
Zoro had insisted that you and him take a walk in the woods, and even though you were against it since he ALWAYS gets lost…you reluctantly followed along…
Zoro had the perfect plan in his head….he was going to walk ahead…hide behind some some trees..and then SCARE YOU (he’s not the most creative with these things)
He had suddenly ran ahead..saying that he spotted something and leaving you alone
He SWORE he only ran only a minute or two ahead, just enough where he could wait and hide…
But that was an hour ago…and Zoro was waiting FOREVER..till he heard you..
SOMEHOW in running 2 minutes ahead he got himself lost
So there you were frantically calling his name while the sun quickly set
You really REALLY didn’t wanna be out here in the dark looking for him… and the creepy forest sounds did not help
A small rustle caught you attention..so you walked closer to the sound…till ZORO in all his glory jumped out of the tree and yelled boo
You were so startled that you fell back and hit the forest floor..while Zoro started CACKLING
You were tired…scared…hungry…and PISSED
As much as you wanted to scream your head off at him and punch him 10000 times…all you could do was start to cry
He stopped laughing as soon as he heard your sobs and felt frozen when he saw you crying
He never cried when you pulled tricks on him..SO WHY WERE YOU??????
“WHY ARE YOU CRYING,” he yelled, meaning it to come off more comforting
“CAUSE YOU SCARED ME,” you yelled back while still crying
After some back and fourth yelling..Zoro admitted he was wrong..but SWORE he didn’t get lost..you did
And you were so gonna prank him back for this one
Sanji
Tumblr media
Now Sanji RARELY ever made you mad
You always laughed when you heard people complaining about their partners because your boyfriend was just perfect
Though one thing did kinda piss you off….his flirting
Now don’t get it confused you LOVED when he flirted with you…but it was the flirting with every woman he saw that bugged you
Usually you brushed it off and reminded yourself that he loved you more…but this time was different
You were helping him pick supplies at an island you stopped at, a usual job between the two of you
Though your palette wasn't as refined as Sanji's, you still were good at picking what food was best for the crew
Sanji had spotted a stand in the market with fruits native to the island, which were apparently very rare
He looked like a kid in a candy store while talking to you about the fruits, and all was well UNTIL the shop vendor came over
Now this girl was GEORGOUS like looked like Boa Hancock your jaw dropped when you saw her....and so did Sanji's...
Immediately he showered her with compliments and praises, just the usual....but instead of turning him down like the usual girls do...she flirted back...
Whatever...who cares...I mean it was bound to happen soon...but surely Sanji wouldn't take it too far...
You honestly didn't care too much...only a little jealous...TILL SHE INVITED HIM TO HER HOUSE
The vendor basically had said that she would show Sanji some of her new recipes that she made with the fruit and would love to talk about technique....IN HER HOUSE
Why couldn't they just do that here??? and even better why don't they just end the conversation now!!
Deep down you BELIEVED in your boyfriend and knew he wouldn't accept the invitation....until he did
A quick kiss on your forehead and a quick goodbye he left with the vendor and started to walk to her house...
What. Just. Happened.
So first he leaves you to hangout with this RANDOM lady...AND THEN LEAVES YOU TO FINISH THE SHOPPPING
It was later in the evening when he came back to the Sunny...a new recipe book in tow
He was excited to show it off to you, and was happy to hear that you finished the shopping for him!!
Sanji found you in the kitchen, putting away the food in the pantry
"Y/N!! Look at this amazing new recipe book I got from that vendor, you'd love this one-"
He looked up from his rant to notice that you were crying...
Sanji dropped the book and ran to you, begging you to tell him what was wrong
You wanted to stay silent and angry at him, but the tears kept pouring out and you just wanted him to hold you
You told him how upset his flirting made you and how him leaving with the other woman made you furious
He immediately apologized and honestly didn't stop for the rest of the night
He swore to you that he would tune down the flirting and that he would bring all his attention to you
And he kept that promise well, minimalizing the complements towards other women, even dialing it down around Nami and Robin
He truly was sorry and vowed to himself to never make you cry again

*MDNI*
Tumblr media
“Harder, Zoro!”
The sounds of skin slapping against skin and your moans filled the bedroom as Zoro relentlessly bucked his hips against your ass. His thick cock stretching you in the best way as he hit that spot deep inside you over and over again.
“Look at you, taking dick like a good little slut”
You mewl at his words, your cunt clenching around him. Zoro hummed loving the way your pussy gripped and milked his cock.
“P-please…” You whimpered.
A harsh smack came down on your ass making you gasp sharply.
“Tell me what you want”, he demanded
“I want you to cum in me”
Zoro groaned, his thrusts increasing in pace.
“Is that what you want? For me to fill this pretty pussy and get you pregnant?”
“Y-yes”, you stuttered out.
“Beg for it, whore”, he growled.
“Yes, yes, please Zoro, I want to have your babies!” , you strain out.
Your needy whines and desperation to be filled with his cum sent him over the edge. With a deep groan, Zoro came deep inside you. The feeling of his hot seed had you reaching your climax as you spilled your juices all over his cock.
Zoro continued to fuck the cum deep inside you, not wasting a single drop. Just when you thought you were finished , he picks you up and leans back so your back is resting against his chest. He wraps his arms around your plush thighs in a tight hold as he starts to slowly move his hips up into you. The position had you trapped in his strong hold, forced to take everything he’s got.
“Come on, show me you can take another load like a good girl”, he cooed.
You whimpered as your pussy was already sensitive from the previous orgasm and his ruthless strokes. Despite you feeling overstimulated, your pussy clenched at the thought of Zoro filling you up again. You threw your head back as you felt his cock piston in and out of you at a rapid pace.
“Oh fuck, Zoro! Keep going, please don’t stop!”, you wail, eyes rolling back.
Zoro grunts, reveling in your cries.”Fuck…that’s it baby, take it. Show me how much you want my cum”
Your moans increased in volume, unable to form words as he kept ramming his cock inside you hitting your deepest walls. You’re pretty sure the whole ship could hear you two, but both of you didn’t care. With every thrust, you didn’t know how much more you could take.
Cries of his name spilled from your lips as you reached your high, your juices coating his cock. Zoro increases his pace, grunting as he once again shoots his load deep inside you. He fucks his cum inside you a few more times, mixing your fluids before releasing his hold on your thighs. You collapse against him, unable to move, completely fucked out. He chuckles at your state before helping you off his dick and setting you next to him.
He places a kiss to your damp forehead, “You still with me, or did I fuck you dumb?”
You sigh before nodding, letting him know you’re good.
He holds you against his chest, pressing soft kisses up and down your face. You tilt your head to look at him and catch him smirking at you.
“What?”, you said with a raised eyebrow.
“You want to have my babies, huh”, he teased.
Your cheeks flush at his teasing and you nudge him, “Shut up!”
You felt his chest rumble as he chuckles at your embarrassed reaction. He gives you another kiss on your forehead before you both drift to sleep, embracing each other.

Demons and Claws
Roronoa Zoro x GN!Reader
Summary: Nightmares have been plaguing your dreams night after night. You can't sleep. Not in the silence. Not in the dark. You can only think of one person in your fear who can put you at ease and you go running for him.
Warnings: fluff, mild anime spoilers (Chopper mentioned)
Word Count: 1.7K
A/N: I am flabbergasted I was able to write this as short as it is--cause Oof can I go on and on, buuutt here we are! 😂 I hope you all enjoy!! 🩷
↞ to One Piece Masterlist | Request Rules | Blog Navigation ↠
Tumblr media
You started awake, sweat coating your skin and sheets a tangled mess around your legs.
A dream. It has just been a dream. Is what you tried telling yourself. What you told yourself as you yanked and pulled the sheets back over yourself tight, tucking them just under your chin.
A demon’s face. Bloody screaming and crying. The undead. Your friends turning their backs on you.
It had been more than some dream--it had been a nightmare. A mix of all your worst nightmares mixed into one. Nightmares you had started having more often after joining Luffy’s crew.
After seeing your nightmares come to life--seeing that they were living realities that existed in your world.
Nami, whose bed lay just across the way from yours, murmured in her sleep, rolling over onto her other side. It broke through the deafening silence of your shared quarters like some blessing, but as soon as she settled back in, that silence surrounded you again.
Silence like the tomb. Like the dead.
Your nightmares flashed through your eyes again and you shoved yourself upright, chest heaving up and down as fear crawled its way into her heart.
Too dark. It was too dark in this room. Too hot and too quiet.
Did something just move in the corner? No. That was just Nami’s treasure chest. A figure standing by the stairs? No. Just the lamp.
A loud noise sounded through the room. A sound that had you clutching at your sheets tighter at its sudden echo.
Snoring. It was just one of the boy's obnoxiously loud snores piercing through the walls of the Merry.
Your mind thought over the collection of bodies stuffed into the room just next to yours. Your captain must have been the one whose snore was monstrous enough to filter into your room, having found he was the most notorious snorer.
It couldn’t have been Sanji’s or Choppers, both of their snores too breathy to ever truly reach you. Usopp was the next runner-up, his snores nasally with a tendency to get stuck in his throat.
Zoro’s snores were loud and chest-rumbling, but this particular snore, which shook through your room once more, was definitely your captain's.
And those it was your captain’s snore, you thought of the green-haired swordsmen. Of how you had found him a month ago wandering around in the backyard of your home looking for the docks, which had been miles away. He had been very adamant about not being lost, though he hadn’t denied your offer to show him the way.
He was a man of little words, but his humor had been dry and you couldn’t help but laugh--to gravitate towards him.
The docks had been a mess when you two finally made it there. A mess of pirates looking to raid your home and to kill off Zoro’s own crew. He had taken them on with ease--protected you against them, though your being with him had only brought the first of your nightmares to reality.
By the time you had helped fend off the pirates from invading your island alongside the Straw Hats, your home had been burned to nothing but ash by one of the pirates who had slipped away.
And despite the rest of the Straw Hats being wonderfully supportive, Zoro had been the one who had been by your side every step of the way. Had sat with you while you cried for your losses. Had taught you a special way of remembering and respecting the dead, which you two partook on the dawn of each week.
Your room fell silent once more. A silence that had your eyes scanning over the room for every last little monster that could be lurking in the darkness.
Zoro fought by your side--kept you from harm's way and he was the only one you could think of to run to when the demons and shadows came calling for you.
With a mighty breath in and out, you hopped out of bed, feet running over the soft, robin’s egg blue carpet that lay over the floor, shifting to polished hardwood just before the stairs. You rushed up them, feeling as if clawed hands were just inches away from grabbing you around your ankles and yanking you right back into the darkness you were fleeing.
You burst out of the door, shutting it behind you as quietly as you could so as to not wake Nami up.
The storage room was just as dark--just as threatening and you rushed for the door that led into the kitchen.
Though moonlight shone through the four, arching windows, illuminating the space dimly, you still felt those clawed hands reaching for you. Hands that sent you rushing once more out of the kitchen and onto the deck. Chilled, salty sea air hit your nose as you crossed the course floor, all but lunging for the hatch just next to the mast.
You flung it open, taking your time to carefully find your footing on the ladder that was built into the mast, which continued downward into the belly of the Merry.
Descending downward, you were met with more darkness, though a small night light had been set up, giving off enough light for you to see around. You seemed to remember the boys arguing with Usopp about it’s being there, but you weren’t quite sure of its true origins.
The air was never once still as you silently hopped to the polished floor, snores of all kinds filling your ears.
The boy's room was cramped. There was no better word to describe it.
The small room had been fitted with two couches and a table you didn’t think the boys truly needed. Swinging in the far corner, layered on top of each other like sardines, lay the fast-asleep men of your crew.
As you grew closer, the louder the snores grew and the less you could think about the nightmares that had chased you out of your bed in the first place.
The first row of boys, closest to the far sitting couch, was made up of three hammocks. Chopper, being the smallest, lay in the top hammock, snoozing away like the precious angel he was. Next was Zoro, who slept with his hands behind his neck and his ankles crossed over each other. And below him lay Sanji, whose long limbs spilled out over the horrible, near burlap sack-like material that made up their hammocks.
You made a mental note to make them all some proper hammocks as soon as you got supplies from the next island you all landed on.
As carefully as you could, you climbed up onto the fine, blue fabric of the couch and walked over it so you could stand next to Zoro’s hammock. You looked him over. Looked over his is peaceful features--his slack jaw, which rumbling snores fell from and his sleep-tousled hair.
Carefully, as if approaching a rabid dog, you gently laid a hand on his hard-earned bicep and gave the swordsman a firm shake.
“Zoro.” You called on a tone just above a whisper. When he didn’t stir right away, you shook him a bit more harshly, his name falling from your lips in the same manner.
“What the hell--” He began on a hiss, but when his dark eyes snapped open to find you standing there, he huffed out a heavy breath. “...can I help you?” He asked, his voice rougher and deeper from the sleep you had just pulled him from.
“I…” You started, biting your tongue from finishing your thought. You felt yourself grow embarrassed. Embarrassed that you had run all the way down here. Embarrassed that you had woken Zoro up from his deep sleep which he needed.
It was childish really. You couldn’t handle a silly little dream? You were a grown adult. You could deal with it yourself.
A demon's face. Bloody screaming and crying. The undead. Wicked, clawed hands. Your friends turning their backs on you. Your family’s death--
“I had a nightmare.” You breathed, your voice wavering the slightest bit. Zoro blinked at you. A long blink that looked as if he was slowly thinking over your words.
“...okay.” He said after what felt like an hour had passed you by.
“Zoro.” You huffed, annoyed at his absent-mindedness.
“What?” He asked, equally as annoyed. Asked a little too loud for your liking. You shushed him, placing a finger over his lips which he only swatted away, ever the more irritated. “I don’t know what you want me to do about it.”
“You’re insufferable.” You whispered harshly, eyes narrowed down at him. “This was a mistake.” But before you could make your way back over the too-nice fabric of the couch you stood on, Zoro grabbed your wrist.
“You know I’m not a mind reader.” He said, his voice growing softer as he pulled you back in. Your body, despite you wanting to still be huffy and puffy with him, relaxed against his strong hold. “Just tell me what you want me to do about it.”
“I just thought…I think I would sleep better in here.” Zoro watched you for a moment, dark brown eyes scanning over your face carefully as if to catch anything he might be missing.
“Like on the floor?” You huffed and Zoro rolled his eyes. “Where then?”
“You’re going to say no.” You went to pull your hand from his grip but he held firm.
“Just say it already.” He urged you, that annoyance filtering back into his voice.
“Can I sleep in your hammock--with you? Please.” You blurted out before you could think too much about it again, “You make me feel safe.”
A sharp yelp escaped your lips as Zoro reached over, grabbed you around the waist, and hosted you up into his hammock.
You heard Chopper stir above you, but soon his soft snores fluttered from his nose once more.
Zoro tucked you into his side, wrapping you up in his strong arms and resting his chin on the crest of your head, a deep breath escaping his nose.
“Next time, just say that first. Could have been back asleep by now.” He grumbled, his voice evening out as sleep slowly fell over him for the second time that night. You nestled deeper into his broad, scarred chest, feeling instantly at ease in his arms. Feeling safe--protected from the demons waiting in the darkness for you.
“Thank you.” You whispered, brushing your fingers over the warm skin of his side.
“Whatever. Go to sleep.” You did as you were told, letting the rock of the sea, the chorus of snores, and Zoro’s strong presence lull you back to sleep.

You wake up at an unknown time, and all clues lead to midnight; dark exteriors with the moon gleaming into your room, the only hint of liveliness is the minimarket located ahead of your apartment building where the signage is bright with yellow and red tinting the streets.
You glanced at the time by your nightstand and saw that it was 1 am, already expelling away your statement of haze you get when you first wake up. You didn’t remember when you slept, all you remembered you were watching a show, and all of a sudden everything went dark. You extended your arm out, looking out for your boyfriend, only to feel vacancy on his side.
You turned to your side only to see that your brain wasn’t playing any games, he wasn’t here, and you remembered that he’d be gone to a kendo tournament for a few days that he had been training for. You saw the effort he placed himself in, seeing the way he effortlessly swung the bamboo stick and how sharp and fast his attention span was when it came to his fighting skills.
While you found his athleticism and sportsmanship commendable and highly respected, you didn’t care about all of that but the aftermath. You could call yourself morbid but the way Zoro would remove his mask to catch his breath as he throws his head back truly does things to your brain it shouldn’t be. He was exhausted and exerted so much energy onto the sport, even perhaps slightly injured himself, so why did that turn you on?!
It didn’t help that Zoro had caught on to your gawking expression post-training, and he would smirk at you as you eye him with a flustered expression, as he pushed his hair back, removed parts of his gear, and loosened the top of his kimono. Oh, he knew what he was doing.
“what’s up, (y/n)? why you so flustered, hm?” Zoro teased before he began drinking his water. You only bit your lips and clenched your fist with his comment, he was going to be the death of you.
And the memory after that encounter has resided in your mind at this moment; when he pulled you into the shower with his mouth attached to yours, with such vigor and fire adjacent to his training. His large hands held onto your thighs as they wrap around his hips, where his cock nestled inside of you perfectly as he thrust onto you, creating impactful skin-to-skin sounds, with your moans and his groans beautifully mixing as a dub.
“oh, gosh, gorgeous—fuck! your pussy is—shit~ perfect…mmm!”
he groaned out as his grip on your soft plushy skin become harsher, resulting in you yelping and whining out about how his cock stretched you out so well.
That memory caused goosebumps and made your desire for him increase exponentially. You feel your body slowly heating up with your stomach causing heat motions as your adrenaline increases throughout your body. Furthermore, you feel your underwear getting soaked as the sinful thoughts of him become more vivid.
As you began stripping down your underwear, you heard vibrations coming from the nightstand next to you. You eyed the caller and saw “hubby” with a picture of him looking to the side, giving smiling.
Perfect timing.
You answered the phone and you laid back, still half bare on your lower half with your legs spread, one hand on the phone and the other stroking your leg.
“Hello?” You answered
"Hey, babe, how's it going?" You hear Zoro's deep voice echoing out of your phone and that results in you biting your lips. This man does the bare minimum and he drives you nuts.
"I-I am fine, Zoro, how was the tournament going?" You tried your best to sound as put together as you should, but your stammer at the beginning might've ruined it for you.
"umm... It's doing well, I got up to the next round, and I'm almost reaching the finals..."  Zoro spoke, as he sensed your breaths being hitched but he didn't think too much of it, at first. He's not super far, only an hour's difference, so it's nighttime where he is. He sounded like he was lying down, and almost getting ready for bed, and your brain imagined the way he lay spread naked, as he usually does when he goes to sleep, which makes your hands lower south.
You allowed him to speak while you feigned concentrating on him when in reality your fingers were busy gathering your wetness and spreading it around. You were merely getting off to his voice, and as bad as it was, you couldn't help it, you wanted him, really bad. You tried your best to keep your moans to yourself and not make any suspicious sounds, whether it was coming from your lips or your pussy, but you still hope to God he has not noticed your disgusting action.
"(y/n)..."
"y-yes, Zoro?"
"Are you touching yourself?"
Shit.
You weren't as discreet as you hoped to be, and you sort of wanted to beat yourself for it but how can you? When you have a hot boyfriend like Zoro, and he's not around to fuck you brainless, you can't keep your hands to yourself. And although he caught you, you still proceeded to play with yourself, your middle finger attempts to sneak a finger inside you.
"mmm~ no?" You say, unconvincingly as you gasp and hiss as you insert your finger inside of you. Zoro isn't sure if you're lying on purpose or not, either way, he just chuckled darkly at the thought of you simply getting off to his voice.
"So... you miss me that bad, huh?" he spoke through the phone, you could almost hear the teasing smirk he had plastered on his face, which gave you the green sign to give up the act of seeming attentive. With that, you put him on speaker and placed your phone near you as you began inserting your finger in and out of you while your other hand with your breasts which you rode your shirt over you. You let out a hissing and dragged out a moan, feeling the bubbling pleasure coursing through your body.
“Yes, Zoro. Ah!~ Fuck!~ I miss you so bad… I need you~” you whimpered out as you began to tease your other finger in while you pinched the nipple that you were grabbing.
“Fuck…” Zoro whispers.
He hears your moans and the wet sounds that come out of you, which causes his cock to harden and twitch. He looks down at the imprint through his boxers and his large hand begins to palm and tease through it, making him grunt lightly as his thumbs his covered tip. He bites his lips as he lowers his boxers down while he listens to your moans and whimpers and sees his glistening tip slapping him in his bare abdomen. The effect you had on him was potent and nothing nor anyone could have put him in this state, and he learned how to discipline and resist himself through his training. You were like a siren; you drove a man like him crazy and left him on his knees only to get him to have you engraved in his brain. Especially at a time like this, where he is in the final round, he is screwed, but he doesn’t care; all he wanted was you.
He started to bob his hand up and down as he hissed at the sensation of his cold touching his sensitive cock. It was a pleasant sensation, but it could never be comparable to your pussy being wrapped around him. He heard your fingers going on vigor speed, making you almost scream out his name and telling you how close you are.
“Stop… moving…” he spoke, but he wasn’t loud enough as you were going faster to reach that high point. When his command went on deaf ears, he growled, loudly,
“I said fucking stop moving your fingers!”
Even though he was on your phone, the way he yelled made it seem like he was right next to you, and you stopped your fingers almost immediately. You huffed as you felt yourself falling from your peak, but you were eager and separate for any sort of motion and command Zoro gave.
“You better not move those pretty fingers unless I say so… got that?” He spoke, and his speaking voice began to rasp as he groaned at the feeling of his hand stroking and pinching his tip in the process.
“Y-yes, sir…” You spoke, your fingers still inside, “Can I keep my fingers in?”
“Take them out.”
“Zoro! Ple—”
“I said, Take. Them. Out!” he emphasized each other words with his found motions following along with harsh strokes. You huffed and pouted as you removed your fingers and placed them on your pelvis. You heard him moaning with strings of cussing, making you whine at the lack of stimulation from your end.
“Oh, god, what I would do to you when I get back… fuck!” He spoke gravelly, “Maybe I’ll tie you up while I fuck you, restraining you and making it impossible for you to make any movements…” He moans before he proceeds
“mm~ or maybe I’ll book a flight in the middle of the night, where you’re sleeping and I just spread you open and start eating you out like I haven’t eaten in days… or I fuck you deep until I come inside and fill you to the brim, making you pregnant for me… how does that sound like?”
Zoro’s words were driving you insane and you wanted to curse him for not letting you touch yourself. You felt yourself dripping onto the bedsheets and the cold air hitting your wet cunt is not helping the situation. Your hips bucked and you rubbed your ass into the sheets, striving for any sort of stimulation, but you knew better than to disobey him.
Meanwhile, Zoro’s stroking was beginning to pick up its pace, his words were becoming more incoherent and were just letting out strings of “shits” and “fucks” along with your name. He threw his head back as he let out the loudest groan coming out of your phone, which made you gasp and drop your jaw as you realized what was going on.
Zoro’s hand and lower abdomen were covered in pearly yet translucent liquid while he caught his breath. After he collects himself and looks at the mess, he simply just laughs, menacingly as taunts you for not being able to come.
“Oh, would you look at that…” Zoro spoke, “Look at the mess I made… If only you were here to use that pretty tongue to clean me up…”
You hated him at this moment. He teased you only for him to come without you. You certainly were not going to let this go. You began whining at him and telling him about how much you need your release only for him to laugh again.
“As much as I want to help you, I have a final to win, so I better have some sleep,” he spoke as if he didn’t just pull that sadistic move on you. You were pleading for him to let you do anything, but he just tsked and let out a denial sound. When he spoke to you, you felt chills run through your skin, goosebumps pimpling up as his husky voice began echoing in his room.
“You better not touch yourself until I get back… Everything I’ve mentioned to you wasn’t empty words; they’re a promise, so if you want that, you better listen… you got that?”
You simply only gulped and closed your legs in obedience and slight disappointment, as you realized you wouldn’t get what you wanted after, “Y-yes, Zoro…”
“Good girl… now I’ll talk to you tomorrow, good night,”
You say with a pout disgruntled, “Alright… good night.”
After you two hung up you just huffed as you looked up at the ceiling disappointed as you hadn’t gotten what you wanted from Zoro, and you were about to disobey him.
‘He’s not here anyways, so why should I follow through?’ you thought to yourself and your hand darted down where you wanted it to be only to receive a message from Zoro. You contemplated ignoring it but something told you to open it, and you don’t know whether you want to thank or curse yourself for doing so.
Zoro simply just sent an image of the aftermath; his veiny, masculine hand was covered in all white, perfectly created an art piece, followed by a message that says, “I know you wanna lick this so bad… you better not touch yourself…”
You’re gonna kill Zoro when he comes back for the damage he caused.

the night was dark, yet the moon left you with a perfect amount of light to be able to see in the darkness.
you wanted to grab some water before you headed to bed, but just as you were about to enter the kitchen you froze as you heard Zoro talking with Luffy and Sanji.
“I just don’t understand why you’d choose her out of everyone from that island, we don’t need somebody like her.”
his words cut like daggers as they hit your ears. he really didn’t want you here?
“Don’t say that! She’s a nice girl and she cleans really good! She might not fight a lot but that doesn’t matter.”
Luffy argued with the other individual, hearing a scoff emit from his mouth at his captains words. You were torn between barging in or running away before the swordsman spoke yet again.
“Exactly, she doesn’t fight. If we get caught up in a serious battle she won’t be able to defend herself, and one of us is going to have to babysit her. It’ll be annoying, and we don’t even need cleaners we have Sanji.”
you didn’t want them to, but tears brimmed your eyes as his words hit you like a train. were you really that useless? he had to babysit you?
numerous thoughts swarmed your mind, Luffy still talking with him but you couldn’t hear him. you thought you had found a place where you meant something after years of being unwelcome and not having anybody, you thought you had a family- but it was clear there was yet another individual who underestimated you.
in your rage and frustrations, you walked away from the kitchen, the moon emitting a shine onto the world below as you leaned over the rail of the Merry, covering your mouth to conceal your sobs as your heart cried for a sense of belonging, just for once.

In search of freedom (Ch. 5)
Tumblr media
5. I've found heaven in hell
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⠀⠀➺ fic masterlist
⠀⠀➺ Chapter 4 ; Chapter 5 ; Chapter 6
⠀⠀⠀⠀She's been searching for freedom her entire life and everytime she thought it was laying right in front of her eyes, she was mistaken. She was running around the East Blue, seeking herself and her dreams, meeting people she never forgot. No matter how much she traveled, she could only catch a glimpse of peace before realizing everything would crumble at her feet.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Maybe it was destiny that brought her on that ship with three strangers — foolishly, that's what she tried to believe when the moon shined beautifully and hope settled in her chest, squeezed by the same ribcage where feelings were blooming.
Pairing: female!reader x OPLA Zoro Roronoa
Warnings for this chapter: alcohol, angst, arguing, tension, tarot readings
Word count: 7,9 k
Theme song: fic spotify playlist (click on the link)
A/N: I genuinely hope this chapter is as good as I wanted it to be, but I'm not so sure about it. I tried my best, but I'm certainly proud of the last scene of this chapter. Yes, we finally got to Baratie and Zoro's fight with Mihawk. I'd be very happy to hear your opinions, so let me know what you think <33 Not proofread yet.
The reader is referred to as "Witch" because I have no intentions of using "Y/N".
Tumblr media
One card fell from her tarot deck from the moment when she started shuffling it: Death.
Nope, she immediately thought to herself.
The witch let out a theatrical sigh and let the cards back in their place, half of her mind completely ignoring the meaning.
No way I'm occupying my mind with such trouble now of all times. I couldn't even sleep last night.
She could think about that later, after she gets a few hours of peace. They were lucky enough to escape from the Marines just a while ago. The answer she received after she came back to her room at the first hours in the morning — when she had just finished her night shift — was ambiguous enough. All she wanted was to breathe some fresh air.
The witch got up from the bed and was ready to leave the girls' room while pulling a large shirt over the tight tank top hugging her curves, leaving it unbuttoned. The hot weather made her choose some shorts in favor of the usually large pants she preferred. The low heels of her boots created a strong sound with each step on the Going Merry's floor.
"I still can't believe Luffy was the one to get us at this floating restaurant in the middle of the sea using his nose only," she chuckled at the navigator.
Nami was glancing one last time into a small rounded mirror she held between her fingers before closing it and shoving it into a bag.
"Add food to the equation and he could take over my role."
"Well, well, that's quite exaggerated. He might have an affinity for sniffling foods, but you can feel a thunderstorm. That's a big difference," the witch winked.
"You're flattering me," Nami grinned.
The witch opened the door of their room and they were instantly greeted with the rays of the sun. She squinted her eyes and walked on the deck with two knives and a gun sitting at her hips. Luffy was already on the dock of the restaurant created in the form of fish with an open mouth. Baratie was written in red neon lights on top of the suspended balcony of the restaurant.
"Do you think there are marines here?" Usopp asked as he leaned against the railing of The Going Merry.
"There are skulls on the flags of other ships. If marines are here, they're probably not for business. I wouldn't start yelling about it in the middle of a place filled with pirates," the witch commented.
Any other words died on top of her tongue when her eyes fell on the swordsman who just left the galley. Maybe the witch should've been more careful while staring so insistently, but gosh, wasn't he always a sight? The dark bluet-shirt clinging onto his chest for dear life, accentuating the muscle lines and — god fucking dammit — the jeans squeezing his legs made her gulp. The signature swords were secured against his left hip.
She averted her eyes before she could get caught ogling at the crewmate she grew fond of. It was a pleasure to blame it on the doses of alcohol in her veins, but it wasn't the case that time. She was wide awake and sober, so the nature of her thoughts was worrisome, to say the least.
She was still dealing with the possibility of feelings. A concerning topic for an inexperienced person in the domain of romance.
Another trouble she didn't want to think of. Maybe Zoro isn't that wrong for drinking with every occasion he gets.
What made it worse was the lack of attention he gave her, as if she was just a ghost.
Maybe she was overthinking it.
Truth be told, she wasn't exactly wrong. Zoro did intentionally look away so he could save himself from embarrassment. He turned away before he swallowed the lump in his throat, his fingers curling tighter around the hilt of his sword. He must've gotten insane to start avoiding people.
"Let's go! I feel like I could die from hunger," Luffy jumped from the ship straight on the dock.
The witch found the right thing to focus on: the restaurant looked amazing. Not only did it smell so divine her stomach learnt how to talk, but it was also splendid. For a second, the witch wondered if that was a place for pirates and not for some rich business people — they could certainly be found there. Dozens of tables and the constant chattering of people, waiters and waitresses walking around and rushing from one side to the other — it was so lively.
The fishman greeting the people coming in smiled warmly at them, even if a little strained — a habit he got from his job.
"You mean there's no free table for our captain, the soon to become King of the Pirates?" Usopp smiled proudly, pointing at Luffy.
She found it hard not to laugh or chuckle at the interaction between Luffy and the poor fishman who said twice already that there will be an available table in three weeks. When the witch saw Nami shove her hand in her pockets, it was obvious what tactic she'd use. Obviously, it worked, even if Luffy and Usopp were cheering, walking down the stairs ahead of them.
The witch looked around, wary of any possible threats or drunk people who would get mad about the smallest thing, like the way they looked. Everyone seemed so caught up in their own thing and it eased her mind, some anxiety leaving once her shoulders fell.
However, there were certain gazes following her silhouette. It was probably because of each confident step she made, the elegance she carried, the force she proved to have with every sharp glance she threw around. Her fingers twitched to grab a hold of her dagger. She figured out there were no imminent threats yet.
At the table, she found herself between Zoro and Nami. She was conscious the moment she intentionally sat a tad bit closer to the swordsman who comfortably spread his legs after he tried to fit his swords. Sometimes, when she'd shift in her seat, his knee would brush by hers and goosebumps would erupt on her skin. She allowed herself to enjoy the proximity, the way her gaze would linger on his figure when he talked, the low timbre of his voice soothing her soul.
She had to get used to that idea.
It ached. Her heart would thump painfully in between her ribs each time it felt like he was ignoring her. He didn't say much to her since morning and something inside of her was bleeding, despite the lack of crimson liquid tainting her clothes.
The witch hated him for every cold glance thrown her away or, worse, each time he didn't even look at her when she spoke. To protect herself, her lips got sealed for a long while.
Her attention was piqued by the fight between two marines who seemed unable to swallow up their pride, threatening each other with death, while a beautiful lady sat at the table, looking at them with fear visible on her expression.
The roll of her eyes and the exasperated exhale she let out spoke for her as the witch rested her elbows on the table and held her face with a hand.
"Do people always act like that over stupid things?" Usopp frowned.
"They act worse," the witch scoffed, amused. "The average pirates aren't any better either, you know."
"Bold of you to say that when you're a pirate yourself," Nami shook her head.
"I've never claimed I'm a lady, so," she shrugged.
A waiter with blonde hair dressed in a clean black suit appeared by the men's table. There was a specific customer-friendly smile plastered on his face while he tried to calm the waters.
One of the two men pulled his pistol out just to have his arm being hit by the waiter's feet. In a few seconds only, the other man received the same treatment, getting a strong blow right in the stomach. The blonde waiter rolled on his feet and right after his feet collided with the man's face, he prompted his hands on the table to pin the other pink-haired marine to the floor with a kick in the crown of his head.
"Good fighter," Luffy pointed out with excitement bouncing in his tone.
As if nothing ever happened, the man's fingers grabbed at the plate he abandoned on the table and smiled again.
"No cause for alarm, folks. Please enjoy your meals."
A normal occurrence, most probably.
The waiter came to their table with a few long steps. From up close, his handsome features washed away the obvious forced smile plastered on his thin lips.
"Hi, welcome to our shitty restaurant where the only thing worse than the ambiance is the food. My name is Sanji. What can I get for you?"
His voice was tinted with harshness and he was definitely in a bad mood, visible despite the professionalism he tried to stick to.
Luffy grabbed one of the small loaves of breasla on the plate the waiter just placed down in front of them.
"One of everything, please," their captain spoke with his mouth stuffed.
"What's wrong with the ambiance?" the witch asked, confused. "Not to flatter, but this place is splendid."
Something in that man's head misunderstood it as you're splendid, apparently, since his eyes shone like crystals when they settled on the witch's figure.
Maybe her mouth spoke before she had time to think it over. Bad decision.
"It became splendid the moment you walked in, perhaps," he smiled effortlessly, his voice dropping an octave.
Wait… what?
"Thank you?" she blinked owlishly.
It sounded more like a question. Not the first compliment she received and she also had to admit that most of the men who flirted with her were absolutely gross. This one was decent, even polite — hell, someone could've taken courtesy lessons from him.
The energy shifted. Or, better said, the man next to her shifted. Zoro just crossed his arms over his chest and fixed Sanji with a glare meant to send daggers through his face. The waiter didn't even bother to look at Zoro.
"Is there anything I could bring for these two beautiful ladies?" his smile widened visibly once he spotted Nami right next to the witch. "Would you care for an apéritif to start? Or perhaps some drinks, like one of our signature cocktails? Maybe a glass of Umeshu? You know, something sweet for someone sweet."
His wink was flawless and it would've been perfect if not for Nami's retort.
"Something wrong with your eye?"
Nami was frowning, taken aback by the comment and equally amused.
"Very good question," the witch nodded.
Nami tried her best to stifle a laugh when she realized she was backed up. Usopp was hardly holding back his laughter
"Forgive a man for being blinded by such beautiful ladies," he grinned as if he'd fallen in love not once, but twice in the same minute. "So?"
"Water, please," Nami answered.
"Still, sparkling, mineral? With ice or without? Cubed or crushed?"
"Regular water in a regular glass. Thanks."
"A beer for me."
Zoro's voice was threatening and low, sharp gaze still focused on Sanji.
"A beer for me. I usually have two, but…" Usopp didn't have enough time to continue as he's been interrupted by Luffy.
"A glass of milk for milk for me!" the straw hat said with his mouth still stuffed with bread.
Sanji's head turned towards the witch with a smile curling his lips.
"One of the special cocktails you mentioned, please."
The witch didn't intentionally use that kind voice. It was a habit whenever she talked to strangers to soften her tone and smile out of courtesy and politeness. Probably, her kind gesture has been misunderstood as flirtatious.
"Any preferences? We have plenty of options you can choose from."
His smile already reached his ears and she could feel a specific swordsman straightening his back by her side.
"Nothing too strong, if you may."
"Of course."
"Are you done yet?"
Zoro made all of them turn their attention to him and while usually he wouldn't like it, at that time he couldn't give a single fuck about it. All he did was arch his eyebrow at the waiter and telling him to fuck off as politely as he could, with no cuss words falling from his mouth yet. If Sanji continued to gravitate around their table with that flirtatious smile on his lips, the swordsman might burst a vein on his forehead sooner rather than later.
Sanji wasn't exactly satisfied to be rushed, but he turned on his heels and left. The witch was still looking at Zoro from the corner of her eye, trying her best to understand what just happened.
He seemed fine minutes ago. Not too talkative, definitely, but not… so mad either. What has been with that scowl on his face ever since Sanji appeared? He couldn't be enough of a man child to be jealous of someone's flirting—
I'm getting delusional lately, the witch cut off her own thought process.
"Mad about something, Zoro?" Nami smirked devilishly.
"Everything's fine."
Everything was, in fact, not fine.
The witch was engulfed by her thoughts, fingers pressing and rolling the fork between her fingers after their food was served. She had to admit she was hungry and was trying her best to savor the pieces of meat tickling her taste buds, but it was almost impossible to ignore the shallow sensation in her stomach.
"Was there anything wrong with your tarot?"
Nami, who was by her side, turned her head and offered the witch her entire attention. Maybe she's been playing with her food for long enough to get their attention.
"Not wrong, just something I would've rather not know," she said after swallowing.
"What did you see?"
She shook her head softly with a light chuckle leaving her lips.
"I pulled the Death card." Quickly enough, she realized she shouldn't have started with that.
"Who's dying?!" Usopp almost choked on his food.
"It's metaphorical death," she clarified. "The ending of a cycle and a new beginning, whatever that might mean this time," with a shrug, she proved her own uncertainty.
"Doesn't sound that bad," Zoro commented while he curled his fingers around his glass of beer.
The young woman still remembered each element of the first tarot card she saw before they left The Going Merry. The skeleton dressed in silver armor on the white horse, holding a flag with the number 'XIII' and the people kneeling in front of it, their clothes painted in golden, blue and white.
"It usually implies a hard step to take in order to advance. Change doesn't come unless you allow it and transformation is supposed to help you evolve, not regress. Each time, it doesn't come easily and it shakes up your reality first. Simply put, who the heck knows what might happen in the next few days," she clicked her tongue. "Anything is possible."
"What use do those readings have if you can't even find out what's really going on?" Nami arched her eyebrow.
Fate spoke for itself.
The witch's eyes fixed on hers, regret hanging around her heart.
"They give enough clues, I just have to figure them out."
She felt bad for keeping to herself the other two cards she pulled: the ten of swords and the four of pentacles — betrayal reasoned by protecting yourself. The witch knew who this was about and she didn't mutter a word about it, finding it improper to do so.
"And did you?"
"Not entirely yet," she bit at her bottom lip.
She knew her words were probably just passing by the ears of her friends. The witch was well aware they had no reason to believe in such things or listen to her. They could take her words into account or completely ignore them; it didn't really matter, as for her the reality remained the same.
What mattered was that she knew only half of the upcoming events. The other side was hidden somewhere in shadows and life lessons the cards decided she had to learn on her own.
"I won't need food for a year," Nami commented after she leaned back against the cushions, sighing.
"We should do a toast. Come on, grab your glasses."
The witch's fingers curled around her glass of cocktail with a soft smile.
"To the best crew sailing on the sea and to our victory!"
"No, I'm sorry," Nami furrowed her eyebrows. "What victory exactly?"
The witch didn't even get to bring the glass to her lips, Nami's question sinking deeply into her bones.
"I don't know how many naval battles you guys have been part of…"
"Two dozen, at least," Usopp interrupted her before taking one more sip from his beer.
"Plenty," the witch placed her untouched glass back on the table. "It was a disaster, I'm well aware of it. We could've died before reaching a day of sailing with The Going Merry."
"Then I suppose you agree we were unprepared and uncoordinated," Nami turned towards her.
There's never been such tension lingering around the navigator since the witch got to know her. The orange haired woman was easy going and talkative, she was skilled and was so strong. Someone used to the harsh world they lived in and yet she seemed absolutely stupefied by the mention of said victory.
Nami was tense and uncomfortable as she continued to shift in her seat, surprised wide eyes glaring at Luffy.
"You didn't think to mention your grandfather was a Marine? And not just any marine, a vice-admiral! I don't know about you, but I didn't sign up for that."
"You raided a marine base," Zoro spoke calmly. "Of course that'll make you a target."
The witch only let out a soft sigh and straightened her back with a frown. She was equally worried, but…
"I understand where you're coming from, Nami, but it wouldn't have helped us with anything to know about Luffy's relatives or their status. We're already haunted for merely having a map in our possession."
At their table Sanji appeared again, with a gray plate with a paper in between his fingers this time.
"Your bill, sir."
Luffy pulled his lips together and glanced at Nami before taking the pen and scribbling something.
"Thank you," he smiled up at the waiter.
Sanji took the plate and almost instantly, a mischievous grin splayed on his face.
"No, thank you," and with that, he walked away.
Whatever that was supposed to mean.
Luffy turned towards his friends once again, confident in his opinion.
"I'm not saying it's good that the Marines are on our tail, but we showed them that they can't just roll over us. This crew, our crew, can handle anything."
The witch gently smiled at him and leaned her elbows on the table again.
"We could use your optimism, Luffy, but it's harder than that. At any given time from now on, the simple fact that we're after One Piece is enough of a reason for a Warlord to come after us because right now, we're an easy target. Not to mention the relationship between the Marines and the Warlords. Remember that these seven pirates aren't anyone's toys and if we ever encounter them, it will not always have something to do with the Navy."
"What makes you talk about the Warlords?" the navigator gulped. "They'd be an ever bigger pain in our asses. Average pirates are merciless already—"
Nami stopped herself from talking and looked away. An unusual reaction met with silence from the witch.
"Luffy isn't the only one with relatives—"
"Who the hell is Monkey D. Luffy?" a hoarse voice boomed.
The witch could feel a headache appearing along with the old chef who was hobbling because of his wooden leg. She finally gulped the entire cocktail.
Why was Luffy always getting into trouble?
"I need a drink," Nami exhaustedly threw her head back.
"I need dozens of drinks," the witch sighed heavily.

Maybe it wasn't a camaraderie thing to do to their captain, but they were now occupying some seats on the terrace of the open fish mouth. The witch was in between Nami and Usopp on the large couch, with their backs facing the sea, meanwhile Zoro sat on a chair, at the other side of the table.
The witch had a whiskey bottle from which she poured herself shots once in a few minutes. Usopp had three straws in his mouth and he drank a sweet cocktail from a bowl. Zoro warned him with a chuckle, but he didn't listen.
Nami, on the other side, was silent as she stared into her empty glass for longer than expected. The witch found it worrisome — she was used to her own phases, but it hurt to watch her friend struggle with something she didn't entirely share. Nami's issue was known by them and yet there was something the witch just grasped onto, a tale told by her tarot.
"The next drink is on me," the navigator got up from her seat.
"Nami," the witch's fingers curled around her friend's.
She squeezed Nami's hand gently and looked up at her with concern in her eyes. The witch rubbed her fingers over her knuckles in a silent plea, her eyebrows knitted together.
You're not alone, her touch said. It's alright. We can make it alright.
Nami swallowed down hard and barely squeezed the hand who held her before slipping away from them.
The witch poured herself a shot and gulped it down quickly.
"Why are you in such a hurry as well?"
Zoro's voice made her chest burn worse than the alcohol.
"I'm not going anywhere. I'd just rather not talk," she mumbled as she rolled the small glass between her fingers.
"You know something that I don't," he concluded quickly.
Usopp, who sat like an obedient child and listened, blinked curiously.
"I know a lot of things that you don't, Zoro," she responded with sorrow.
Saying one single word about Nami while she was gone felt unfair.
When the orange haired woman came back to them with a bottle in her hand, her conversation with Zoro somehow turned into a guessing game. Usopp, who obviously didn't take the swordsman's warning into account, went to the dance ring and moved like a sea slug — or that's what Zoro said.
"Are you in?" Nami asked.
"I'd rather not," the witch lowered her gaze.
It was easy to admit she didn't want to share anything about herself. Still, she knew better than that; with some shots, her tongue would loosen up bit by bit.
Her eyelashes fluttered lazily and her gaze fell on the glass she held. The corners of her mouth were slightly curled downwards and she seemed aware of the effect alcohol would have on her. She will succumb into sorrow or happiness, depending on which one clouded her mind first. The lack of answers coming from someone who adored to share experiences and explain was strange.
Nami looked at her from the corner of her eye and accepted the situation as it was. She'll get the witch to talk one way or another. Something was fishy about her behavior — it was poking Nami's senses.
The witch leaned against the cushions and turned her head towards the sea, pushing reality out of her awareness. Zoro's and Nami's conversation sounded muffled from her perspective, caging herself willingly in her head.
Zoro was sitting right in front of her and the witch still thought of him. Her feelings were confusing and analyzing them was a full time job. Maybe it was time for her to accept her situation and deal with the heart aching for him. It was impossible not to think of him, especially when his deep voice sounded like a melody.
She swallowed a lump in her throat and blinked away the overwhelming sensation settling in her chest. Maybe the present could give her peace.
"You're unfair, Roronoa," she crooked a teasing grin and turned her head towards him.
"How's that so?"
His gaze burning holes into her shouldn't affect her as much as it did. Those black oceans shining shamelessly told her everything she had to know, it made hope bloom in the center of her soul.
Maybe there was a chance. A tiny little chance hidden in his mesmerizing eyes.
"She's telling you entire stories, but you don't even bother to elaborate."
He clenched his jaw and scoffed.
"That's not part of the game," the side of his mouth curled upwards.
"Now that I think about it, she's right," Nami smirked.
"Just drink."
With that, they raised their glasses and both glanced at the unusually silent witch.
"I didn't play the game," she excused herself.
"That's why you have to drink. You listened and didn't share," Nami arched her eyebrow. "Are you also unfair, Witch?"
It was Zoro the one who poured whiskey in her empty glass.
"You two are so sneaky," the witch laughed softly and complied.
The alcohol burnt her throat and it was the alcohol getting to her head that brought questionable curiosities in her head… How would his lips taste? Would he make her burn harder? A one single touch from him would both ruin and put her back together.
Alright, I have to find something else to think of.
Hastily, the witch who sat by Nami's side gulped down another shot of whiskey and got up from the cushions. An idea creeped in her mind when her attention fell on the group of four musicians whose music Usopp danced to.
"Where are you heading to?"
"Killing some time," she winked at Nami.
With light steps, she walked to the guitarist and asked for his instrument after he just finished playing. With a nod, he handed her the guitar and she grabbed a chair to sit on. Her legs crossed and she positioned the guitar in her lap easily, like second nature. Gentle fingers tapped the wooden object and her lips curled — it was perfect — before her grip on the neck of the guitar tightened. Her other hand was busy testing the chords, tingles running down her spine at the sensation.
She hasn't felt that in too long.
The alcohol was also a reason for her bold action, but the witch didn't care. The fingers of one hand pressed against the strings, while she played with the other hand, giving life to the guitar. Lively sounds rang through the air and the other musicians quickly picked up on the notes. A classic, an old shanty pirates would sing when drunk after victories, but it was more beautiful when she played it. Even her humming and the rare times when her lips would part to let sweet words fall from between them, it was alluring.
Zoro's attention never left her figure. Her eyes sparkled with freedom and the smile on her face was that of an angel. She was life itself, stuck under soft skin and hidden in her heart. The dim lights of the terrace — the open fish mouth — bathed her in white and warm gold. Her happy face, the smile lines, the crinkles of her eyes, the jovial energy surrounding her; all of these things charmed him over and over again. The longer he looked at her, the worse it got, because he didn't have the courage within himself to avert his gaze from her.
"You should just admit it," Nami said.
He didn't look at her when he let out a low "Hm?"
"Don't you think she's pretty?"
His head snapped towards her.
"What are you talking about?"
"Which one of us are you trying to fool, Zorol; me or yourself?"
Uncomfortably, the swordsman shifted in his seat, clenching his jaw.
"I think you're confused," he responded  with fake confidence while he crossed his arms over his chest.
"No, you are confused," Nami scoffed. "You were jealous back then, when Sanji flirted with her."
"You're quick to jump to conclusions."
"If Usopp would be here, he'd agree."
"Unfortunately, he's too drunk to even walk straight, so I suppose he isn't here to support your theory."
"Speaking of him."
Nami just spotted Usopp who came back to their table with a man behind him. A strange man, judging by the hilt of the sword as tall as him — and he wasn't short by any means either.
"Which one of you is Monkey D. Luffy?"
Zoro turned his head lazily, arching his eyebrow.
"I don't recall such a name."
The witch's peace has been entirely destroyed by the new appearance, an unwelcome guest. She could spot him easily because of his big elegant hat with feathers and the sword with precious stones on the hilt.
It was her turn to stand proudly in front of a Warlord she's only heard about from her deceased father. Her back was straight and her chin up high, gaze sharp.
When the man turned his head to her, there was no mistake it was Dracule Mihawk, his golden irises shining with boredom. Even his perfect posture betrayed the obvious superiority he had in front of some mere children.
"I didn't know your father had raised a liar. He was honest, from what I recall."
The witch knew she was her father's splitting image, but how could he know—
The only thing that stopped her eyes from widening in surprise were the nails digging painfully into her palms.
"I don't know any Monkey D. Luffy and I certainly have no clue what you're talking about."
"I have business with your captain. If you know what's good for you, you'll hand him over."
"I don't know either," Nami responded from her seat. "Right, Zoro?"
"You're Dracule Mihawk."
The swordsman got up from his chair and for a moment, the witch wondered if he was insane or more delusional than her, because there's no other way he stood without a worry in the world in front of him.
In front of someone who could slice entire ships into pieces.
"Zoro?" the witch whispered, horrified.
The man in question stepped by Mihawk and walked slowly, steadily, as if the Warlord was his prey.
"It pains me to inform you that tomorrow… you're going to die."
Oh, Gods, please don't.
•┈┈┈•┈┈┈•┈┈┈
The witch was left speechless. She couldn't find strength in her legs and she had to sit on a chair when all of them gathered in the valley of their ship.
Zoro wasn't a sane man. He needed to be locked up or someone had to get that stick from up his ass before he had a chance to die out of stupidity.
She shook her head countless times while Zoro and Nami argued, rubbing her forehead with her fingertips and squeezing her eyes shut.
"Why do you even care?" the swordsman's cold tone rang in the air.
"Because you're my friend, you idiot."
Nami sounded close to losing it all.
The witch already lost it one hundred times. Her heart wasn't beating, her breath was shallow and she was pinching the bridge of her nose to hold back from saying or doing something rude, something she would later regret. The tension in the room weighed on her chest and she wished it was all just a nightmare.
"You said you don't have any friends," Zoro responded sharply.
The woman's eyes snapped open. He was more insane than she thought. She wanted to yell, but no raw sound filled with pain left her chapped lips. The witch could only remain rigid while Nami left the room with loud stomps.
"You're insane, Zoro," she muttered between gritted teeth.
The witch was tugging painfully at her own strands of her in order to stop the overwhelming feelings from spilling out of her like a tornado. Her shaking fingers curled into her hair and gripped, the burn on her scalp bringing her back to the cabin of their ship.
"This is a suicide mission."
"It's his dream," Luffy smiled, "we can't—"
"Zoro, you're gonna die!" she shouted out of the sudden after she snapped her head towards the swordsman.
She sank her nails into her palms until the sting was painful enough to keep herself stable. It was not to her liking to be pessimistic, to admit that someone wasn't able to do something, but what he wanted to do was not the most intelligent idea.
"This isn't good, this won't end well at all and you shall know it," the witch continued. "You can't seriously believe you'll get out of there better than half-alive."
The swordsman didn't need to respond in order to answer. His unmoving gaze and straightened back told enough: he wasn't going to change his mind at all, no matter what anyone said.
She knew it meant a lot for him to become the strongest swordsman in the world, but in his current state he wasn't able to defeat Mihawk. Out of all the people he could've dwelt with, Zoro chose him, that monster of a man.
"Did you not listen to me when I said 'He cuts entire ships with a mere flick of his wrist'?" she furrowed her eyebrows. "Did you suddenly forget when I clearly warned you all the warlords aren't some mere toys for the big guys in the system, they do whatever the fuck they want!"
She cussed herself for letting out so many emotions, but she seriously couldn't hold back anymore, no matter how worried Usopp seemed, or how confused Luffy was. They had no clue what Zoro was getting into—
"That's exactly why I'm dwelling with him and not someone else," the green-haired man spoke firmly.
"Oh, so your dream is to get cut in half by a sword taller than you?" her irritation slipped.
"Do you really think I trained my entire life to get cut without putting up a fight?"
Even if she didn't want to admit it to herself, one side of his heart was hurt. This entire time, every time they spoke, she openly told him she believes in him, that she trusts him even if it would be her downfall. It sounded like she's been lying this entire time.
"You know very well I never meant that you're weak, but you're not stronger than him! That's your idea of a swordsman? You can believe, you can even hope for the best to happen, but the happiest situation would be a quick death. And the worst? A torturous one."
"I didn't take you for someone who wouldn't understand what the pride of dying in a duel means."
"Fucking hell!"
The witch's tight fist hit the table placed in the middle of the cabin with a quick and hurried motion, her feelings indeed getting the best of her that time. It didn't come to mind the last time she ever acted so harshly.
He turned her words against herself and he was a professional at doing so. She knew what kind of pride swordsmen and pirates carry, she knew what they considered noble because she's spent years of her life listening to men and women talking about such things. Her father did the same, thought he could get out of any problem, until it brought him his death.
"Maybe you should have more faith," Usopp intervened in a small voice.
He was hesitant, the surprise obvious on his face — none of them expected that their most collected crewmate would lash out like that. Luffy was also silent, confused, obviously trying to find a way to get into the thick heads of his friends somehow. The argument escalated quickly and the tension wiped away any ounce of peace.
The witch's eyes were fixed on Zoro's and they burnt holes through his face. He's seen just as many emotions a night ago, when she told him about her past sailing experiences, about the life she left behind as she desperately tried to find freedom. And if freedom felt like that, he wondered if she really wanted it. He succumbed to the flames of hell in her eyes, but snapped himself out of it.
She was angry at him, he figured out quickly.
He didn't like that gaze. He'd do almost anything for her to stop looking at him that way, as if she wanted him away from her, as if his very presence brought her suffering. Almost anything.
"You see just what you want to see, Zoro. You're deliberately ignoring our worries, thinking we have something against you, thinking god-knows-what about how we're not your friends or whatever the fuck's going through your head—"
I'm worried for you, she swallowed a lump in her throat.
"Just because me and Nami are trying to stop you, it doesn't mean we're assholes keeping you away from your dream. We might be assholes, but we want you to be alive, not six feet under the ground!" her voice raised slightly at the end again, her breath shallow.
"You're worried about her, not about me. I don't need your worry."
"Zoro—" this time Luffy tried to intervene.
"You're impossible," she faintly spoke, like a ghost.
She gave up.
She buried her face into her own palms and sat on a chair, her elbows prompted on her knees. She had so much faith in Zoro, she could barely even point out how many feelings swirl in her heart when it comes to him, but she was aware he was mortal. He could die at any given time.
"Right, Zoro. Go die with pride filling you up the same way that man's sword will," she bitterly mumbled.
I hate you, Roronoa Zoro. You and your stupid pride, along with the fucked way I feel about you. I hate it all.
The poor woman was exhausted, her heartstrings twisting into knots, making it hard to ignore the pain running through her entire being. His name rolled on her tongue so many times in only a few minutes and it made her situation worse, that one word made of two syllables cutting through her chest.
The witch regretted her words immediately, but didn't say anything for a while.
Usopp nudged Luffy into leaving the other two alone and it was probably one of the few times when the straw hat understood subtleties without any questions.
"Take your time and clean your swords, Zoro, we'll be waiting outside," Luffy spoke.
The witch heard two pairs of steps that walked away, her face still buried in her palms. She gulped and took in a few deep breaths before she moved from her seat, straightening her back and moving to the window of the cabin, hands gripping at the edge of the wood.
She didn't throw a glance at Zoro. Silence stretched between them while the witch focused on the stars shining in the night sky.
I shouldn't have been here in the first place, she thought to herself, twisting the blade deeper into the wound. I shouldn't have accepted to come with you. I should've stayed in Syrup Village and left with another ship, to go somewhere far away from you. I should've known better that there's no way in hell I can grasp at the mere notion of freedom.
There's no place for me in heaven and there's no place for me in hell either. I'm stuck here, in this body, with these feelings and this swordsman in this galley.
I should've known. I should've known I was damned to die on my feet, with a bleeding heart and my back turned at you. I should've—
She gulped down harshly, blinking away the tears.
I want to stay with you all so badly.
"Zoro," she whispered his name again.
Tears stung in her eyes at the sound of his name. It felt like it was the last time she could hear his name repeatedly, the same name carved with silver on her heart.
"Be careful," she continued, her voice faint.
"Why do you care?" his bitter tone resounded in her eardrums. "Everyone seems deadly interested in my actions lately."
Only then she turned her head towards him and her ribcage protested when the prisoner that was her heart beat so harshly.
"I don't need a reason. I simply do. Please, Zoro."
Like the idiot that she was, she begged him to stay alive. A confession was hidden between her chapped lips — she picked at them with her nails and there was blood surfacing on top of the skin. Her tongue swiped over her bottom lip, the metallic flavor tickling her taste buds.
Judging on the way his jaw ticked with tension, he grasped onto enough of her words. Or maybe he refused to do so — who knows?
"Don't throw your life away. You'll never fulfill your promise if you die today. Be mindful. Don't rush when fighting, don't get angry if he pushes on your buttons and irritates you. Be wise, Zoro."
It was a lost fight on her side. There was nothing she could do to stop him, so at least she had to give him the best advice she thought of.
When he finally looked at her, her breath hitched. His brown eyes saw through her soul and she wondered if he could also feel how much she cared for him, the way she cared for him. She liked everyone on the ship equally, but her affection for him took a different path, one she's never walked on before.
He didn't say a word, letting everything sink in.
Maybe there is a chance he gets what I meant.
"Be careful."
This time, her voice trembled but she didn't look away. She stood there, staring at him as if it was the last time she saw his eyes open.
She turned towards the window again, nails digging into the wooden frame. She refused to look at him when she figured out tears could spill over her cheeks like a river if he continued staring at her, burying himself further into her soul. She only wanted him to be safe, because nothing was greater than that. If all of them could be kept away from harm's way, she would have days filled with peace.
Too bad such a thing was impossible in that unforgiving world.
Behind her, Zoro moved around and left the galley. After a few minutes, he came back with a bottle of oil for his swords. He dragged a chair and sat down at the table, more silent than usually. With utmost care, he took one of his black swords and unsheathed it, leaving the scabbard on the table. He poured some oil on the blade and used a piece of cloth to spread it even from tip to hilt.
The witch only dared to throw glances with an aching heart. She couldn't bring herself to leave, to stay away from him for too long now more than ever. She swallowed hard before making a tough decision.
Wordlessly, she moved from the window. Her heavy steps echoed in the room until they stopped right by Zoro's side.
"Can I help?"
Calm, just like she always tries to be, she spoke with fear clinging to every nerve in her body. She would blame herself for the rest of her life if they would part ways like that. More than her fears and worries, he mattered. He deserved all the pain she was capable of harboring inside her poor heart, he was worth the fight with her own self.
The swordsman didn't expect her gesture. He supposed she would storm out of the room, that she would scold him or try to stop him, just like before. He guessed she was more sane than him, even if he couldn't bring himself to care enough about that. Her reaction pained him in ways he couldn't explain.
His fingers pressed the piece of cloth against the blade of his words. He thought of being petty, shutting her down. Why couldn't she believe in him more? Was he that weak?
He nodded. Like the stupid man that he was, with no need for spoken words, he accepted her help. He watched her blank face, devoid of any life, as she took another sword from the table, following his exact steps.
Except, her hold on the white sword was gentle like a feather. A careful grip, so it wouldn't slip from her hand, but gentle nonetheless. He stopped whatever he was doing, focusing on the woman who rested her hips against the table, close to him, so close, but, oh, so far away. Zoro watched her unsheathe his Wado Ichimoji and place it on the table. Her hand reached out for the bottle of oil and her other one took advantage of the opportunity, taking the piece of cloth from his own hold.
Their fingers touched. Hers were cold, but they still burnt his skin. Electric shocks traveled through his body and his chest tightened.
She poured some oil on the material and then left the bottle on the table, gripping at the hilt of the sword again. She moved the piece of cloth over the blade carefully, as if she's done it before countless times. Left, right, left, right. Everytime she exhaled, her breath was trembling, despite the slow pace of her gestures.
He paid more attention to the hands holding his sword: they were shaking when she placed the sword on the table. She poured some more oil on the cloth and dipped the tip of her index finger in the same spot. With the same finger, she drew on the blade a symbol Zoro didn't recognize.
With each stroke of her fingertip, she traced lines and connected them in a barely visible symbol: an arrow pointed upwards.
"It's a rune meant for protection," she explained softly as she sheathed the sword. "It's associated with strength and honor. It doesn't matter if you don't believe in it, because I do and that's enough."
It was true: he didn't believe in such things and never did. The swordsman never found it reasonable nor did he ever try to figure it out. It didn't mean he denied her beliefs — no, but he was indifferent towards it.
However, he couldn't act indifferent towards the witch, which he found at that point to be straight up painful. It was painful to look at her and see torment in her deep eyes, it hurt to see sorrow painted on her angelic features when none of them was dead.
The witch did the same gesture with the other two swords, carefully holding each one of them, as if they were her own treasures, not his.
"Come back alive," she whispered.
If he wouldn't have been so close to her, her voice would've sounded like a breath.
"That's all I ask of you. If you wish so, then no sword will cut through you. Blades can cut steel, but nothing can cut will."
What was she mourning when she said those things? Who did she think of? he wondered.
May the gods protect you tomorrow, she hoped. They've taken so many away from me along the way.

Tumblr media
Monkey.D.luffy:

He likes clinging and hugging you while whining which HE DEFF WOULD CUZ HE HAS AN IQ OF A TODDLER (which is cute). (a/n maybe the IQ the size of a germ)
"so in the next Island, THERE IS A ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET. FULL OF MEAT!! what do you say y/n? We should definitely go sometime! You, me, Zoro, Ussop, nami-" he paused as he realized you weren't paying attention. You were across the room talking to robin.
The next thing you were about to hear was something that made your heart jump out. "GOMU GOMU NOOO" his hand placed on your shoulder. You gulped. Everyone fell quiet. Next thing you know Zoro starts praying to jesus even though he's an atheist, (wow Luffy changing religion rn) "wait LUFFY NO PLS-" "Y/N CHWANN!!!" Sanji exclaimed. "ROCKETT" "LUFFY YOU LITTLE SHIT-" Zoro yelled, you were on the floor. Luffy was on top of your back. "Luffy- mph- why?"
"because you left me outt!!!"
"I would like to have a conversation with Luffy" Nami said
Next thing you know he comes back with a red head and Botox lips.
Tumblr media
Roronoa zoro:
Bro is the one ghosting you most of the time.
However if he somehow has a change of heart. And you start ignoring him, the change of heart will change.
He will DRAG YOUR ASS, NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE.
"which one should I get?" Zoro asked you, pointing at the three swords.
You simply ignored. "Y/n, which.one.should.i.get."
You continued to ignore him. next thing yk, he pins you somewhere behind the store. "I know damn well you heard me. Why are you ignoring me-"
You just keep silence.
"fine, I'll make you talk.."
..
He slapped the shit out of you btw, it was one slap but it was pain. "OWHHH, WHAT WAS THAT FOR???"
"for ignoring me woman. Now let's go back to the store"
Sanji didn't let this slide, he saw the slap and he fought Zoro for the entire day.
Tumblr media
Vinsmoke sanji:
Poor dude. Bean
He'd think that he upset you :"(
probably be concerned at first.
(One time it happened that you zoned out, and he accidently hit your face with a frying pan. He apologized so much.) He might think that's the reason. (It happened two years ago btw)
he will make you COMFORT FOOD
"Y/NNNNNN-CHWANN YOU WANNA HELP ME BAKE TODAYY??" He remembered today, you promised to help him bake a cake, he was all jumpg and excited, so you felt kinda guilty to ignore him.
"y/n-chwan?" He asked. you just kept ignoring.
He paces around the room, trying to remember if he upset you. Suddenly he had those flashbacks, the frying pan incident.
next thing you know you come in. And there's you fav food, with a note. Saying that he's so sorry about the frying pan incident.
"Ji that was two years ag-"
"I KNOW, I KNOW, I KNOW. BUT I FIGURED YOU'RE MAD AT ME AND THATS WHY YOUR IGNORING ME IM SO SORRY YNN CHWAN I DONT MEAN TOooOo" he starts bowing down and crying. You hug him saying that you're really sorry (YOUR A MONSTER :" [ )

Tumblr media
It was a busier night than you and the crew had seen in a while. You were all desperate for a day off of chores and the open ocean so Nami suggested a brief stop at the closest island.
You’d broken off in groups to spend some time on land and you Zoro and Robin had made your way to a dive bar in town.
It was a welcome stop– the ship only had sake on it. Franky and Brook had finished the gin during a card game and Sanji had finished off the bourbon in a recipe.
The three of you found a seat and you took a moment to sink into the torn leather cushion, breathing in the smell of old cigarettes in ashtrays and beer. The neon lights washed you in a warm hue and Zoro couldn’t help but stare at how the blinking lights shifted on your face, changing the shadows of your eyelashes danced on your cheeks.
He got up, realizing Robin had taken note of his staring and made his way to the bar ordering a drink for himself.
You and Robin were talking, he could hear your giggling and tried to drown the warmth that erupted in his tummy by downing the drink.
You walked up behind him and hugged him from behind, “Zo-ro!”
He loved the way you said his name, stretching out the first syllable and emphasizing the second. Zou– ro!
“Hey, Y/n,” he said, biting back a smile.
“What’d you order?”
“Sake.”
“Shocking! Gimme a sip.”
He handed you the small bowl, his heart beating faster when your fingers touched.
He watched you sip it and wince as it went down.
“Still gross.”
It was too much to be around you, you were intoxicating and he knew if he spent too much time around you after having had a few drinks he’d most likely say something stupid and embarrass himself.
He started getting up, awkwardly trying to get you off of his shoulders.
You let go and took his seat.
“Here,” he dug around in his pockets and handed you a few bills and several coins.
You shot him a puzzled look.
“Get yourself a drink, since you didn’t like mine.”
“With…” you paused and counted the money, “Three berries and sixty-four.. no, sixty-five cents?”
He shot you a look and snatched the money up, grumbling as he went back to the table.
A man in the bar quickly took Zoro’s place once he’d walked away and started up a conversation with you, much to Zoro’s irritation. He went and sat with Robin, sipping his drink and playing a game of checkers with her.
An hour or so had passed and you, sociable as ever, had talked to almost everyone in the bar.
Robin playfully nudged Zoro in your direction, who was absorbed almost entirely in his sixth cup of sake of the night.
You were sitting alone at the bar now, ordering yourself a drink.
Zoro furrowed his brow and took another big sip of his drink, pretending not to understand what Robin was hinting at.
“Hmph,” he muttered, still not wanting to admit to Robin that his crush had been found out.
A sudden impulse to go to you and declare his feelings bubbled up in his chest and against his better judgment, he stood up trying to gather the courage to go up and sit with you. It’s not like it would have been weird–he was closer with you than the rest of the crew and he knew you better than anyone (at least that’s what he let himself believe). But tonight, for some reason, he had been feeling nervous around you. He told himself that maybe it was your new perfume, floral and saccharine, and dizzying every time he caught your intoxicating scent or the dress you were wearing that hugged your body in all his favorite places, not that he looked, of course, or maybe it was your hair which was framing your face, now glowing in the soft light of the bar and pink with the warmth of alcohol that was driving him absolutely mad at the thought and sight of you.
“Better hurry,” she said, getting up to leave, “Looks like a few other people already want to take the open seat next to her.”
A group of younger boys in the corner pushed one of their group toward where you were sitting, sending flirty remarks your way.
“I’ll see you two back on the ship tonight.”
You ignored the boys behind you, rolling your eyes at their antics.
“Mint gimlet, miss,” the bartender said, handing you a drink, winking, “The gentleman over there sent it.”
“Oh? Well, thanks,” you said, looking to see who had guessed your favorite drink.
Your heartbeat picked up, thumping with a quick, erratic beat against your chest. You felt goosebumps cover your skin and your stomach churned.
Him.
It had been two, or was it three?, years. God knows you’d tried contacting him; dozens of letters, calls, messages, just wanting to know what happened. Had you done something? Was he in trouble? Did a year of your life mean nothing to him? All that time, all those kisses and conversations and messy beds and lazy mornings. All the petty arguments and fights and the tears you’d cried in front of him. You had told yourself that there was no way he’d have thrown it all away. But six months after you’d last seen him, leaving your bed in the early hours of the morning, kissing your forehead and promising you dinner that night, he’d responded to one of your letters.
It was some shitty, half-assed excuse—something about new opportunities and not wanting to tie you down, being your own person.
A lump in your throat began forming at just the thought of it.
You looked away from him, blinking back tears, but it was too late. He was headed your way.
Well, you thought, the least you could do was ignore him.
He sat one seat away from you, smiling at you like a schoolboy in love. You wanted to break your glass over his head.
“Hi, sweetheart,” he said, placing his hand over yours, “How are ya?”
He was halfway through a beer, a drink that you now associated with his memory.
You clenched your jaw and looked straight ahead, ignoring him entirely.
“At least taste the drink, I know they’re your favorite.”
Zoro, who had been closely watching this entire interaction noted how you tensed up the moment he sat down and placed a steady hand on the handle of his sword. He paused for a moment, closely observing the scene that was playing out before him. He watched you push the drink in front of you away and your soft smile fall into a frown.
“Leave me alone.”
The man reached over and placed his hand on your thigh and gently squeezed, eliciting visible disgust from you.
Pushing his hand off you repeated yourself, “Leave me a-lone.”
Zoro was already making his way toward you from the other side of the room, his blood starting to simmer at the sight of your unwanted visitor.
He stopped at a table about twenty feet away from you, deciding he would wait a bit more before taking any action– he was, after all, somewhat intrigued.
The man was laughing, but you had never looked so angry.
“I am sorry, sweetheart,” he heard him say, “Let me explain what happened, just hear me out.”
“I don’t care what happened, and I will not hear anything out so long as it’s you speaking,” you responded.
“Did ya miss me? At least answer me that.”
Your hands were balled up into shaky fists, “No.”
The man laughed again, grabbing your drink from in front of you and taking a sip, “Yes, you did. Look how worked up you are! Don’t know how to respond to the sight of me, huh? Am I as handsome as you remember?”
You suddenly felt a large hand on your shoulder and turned to look up and see Zoro, relief sweeping through your body.
“Hey, Zo,” you said, smiling at him.
“Mind getting me a beer?”
“Not sake?” you asked. He laughed, a lot more than normal, but insisted it was the beer he wanted.
Tension between you and your ex was already at an all-time high, and your apparent closeness with Zoro wasn’t helping.
The bartender placed the beer in front of you and you pushed it over to Zoro who grabbed it and sat in the empty seat between you and your ex.
“You know him?” Zoro asked, taking a generous sip of beer.
You didn’t respond for a second, but eventually nodded, “Yeah.”
“Want me to move?”
You could see E/n glaring at Zoro.
You bit the inside of your cheek and looked up at Zoro who had an unreadable sort of expression on his face, something between irritation and apathy. He looked straight ahead and didn’t look at either you or the man to his right.
Several moments passed without an answer and he turned to look at you, “Didn’t think so.”
“We were having a conversation,” your ex nudged Zoro’s arm.
You knew the look on Zoro’s face, it was that sort of glazy-eyed focus he fell into before fighting.
“E/n, we’re done talking.”
“Are you sure this guy isn’t bothering you, Y/n? I felt like we were close to… reconnecting.”
Ugh, go away.
“Well, we weren’t,” you said.
Zoro stayed silent, sipping his beer, but you could tell he was very aware of everything going on around him.
“Alright,” he said, getting up. He grabbed his coat and walked over to you, leaning over your shoulder, his chest to your back, and pressed a kiss to your cheek. You watched Zoro’s fist clench out of the side of your eye.
You shifted uncomfortably in your seat, “Get off.”
As much as you hated the man, you knew Zoro was very capable of escalating things very quickly and you wanted to avoid causing a scene.
You felt a small rush of wind on the back of your neck and the cool edge of a blade settle there.
Uh-oh.
So much for staying calm.
“Step away from her,” Zoro snarled, “Now.” His sword was extended behind your head and the point was resting on E/n’s chest.
He put his hands up and smirked at Zoro, “Let’s not get too confident here, buddy.”
He pushed his jacket to the side and rested his hand on the gun that sat on his hip. He drew it slowly and dragged his finger to rest on the trigger.
You remembered that stupid gun and the fight that had ensued when you’d accidentally touched it.
Zoro laughed, loud and bold.
“I’ll have your hands cut off and skinned before you can pull the trigger. Make this a lot easier for yourself and leave.”
Zoro didn’t look anywhere other than his face. His arm was steady and the sword didn’t waver even an inch. Confident and unwavering, he resembled a tiger before it kills.
Your ex placed the gun back in its holster and turned to shoot you a pathetic smile, “Are you sure you want me to leave? You won’t see me again.”
You won’t see me again.
For a moment, all that hurt resurfaced. The striking realization that this was it. Your relationship was done and would never be what it had been again. This moment, right now, was truly it. You prepared yourself to say something, anything. But there was a growing lump in your throat so you stopped yourself from answering. You’d never forgive yourself if your voice broke now.
Zoro moved in front of you, blocking you from his view, “You’re conversation with her is done. You can talk to me and lose your life in the process or you can leave.”
“Bitch,” he muttered under his breath, still looking at you and turning to leave.
Before he’d even finished saying the word you watched Zoro’s sword cut through the air quicker than you could process, leaving him standing over your ex-boyfriend who was now clutching his bleeding chest on the floor.
You shot up, suddenly nauseated by the exchange and the unnerving satisfaction you felt.
Blood was soaking through his shirt and puddling in his palm, his breathing heavy and ragged.
You grabbed Zoro’s arm and he turned to look at you. His complexion completely changed the moment he looked down at you, concern pouring from all of his features.
Are you okay? he asked, his eyes speaking for him.
“Let’s go, Zo,” you said, tugging on his arm, “There’re marines in town.”
He nodded, lowering his sword but he didn’t sheath it.
“Just give me one more second.”
Zoro crouched down and nudged him with the handle of his sword like a cat playing with its prey.
“I know you’re alive, so listen ‘cause I’m not gonna repeat myself,” he drew his sword and brought it up next to his ear. You watched silently as he visibly flinched. Zoro brought the blade down to rest on his shoulder, and slid it toward himself, wiping the blood off of the sword and onto his shirt.
“If I ever see you again. Any time, any place- I guarantee that I will be the last thing you see on Earth. Understood?”
Zoro didn’t move at all, not a muscle, not an inch. He stayed watching the man like a hawk, clutching his bleeding chest until he gave a slight nod. Had you blinked you would’ve missed it.
Zoro stood up, dusting off his knees and sheathing his sword.
He turned toward the door and grabbed your hand on his way out taking you with him.
The urge to turn around and look bubbled up inside you—to see him as devastated as you had been, to see him experience the pain you had felt.
And as though he had read your mind Zoro gave your hand a squeeze.
Keep walking, he told you.
You steeled yourself and walked out hand in hand with Zoro, whose hand was warm with speckled blood.
He led you around the side of the bar, stopping only when you were tucked away in the alley.
It was silent, neither of you saying anything.
You looked up at him, making eye contact finally. He seemed somewhat embarrassed, his cheeks were fairly pink.
You figured maybe he was regretting his rash actions but he was only really freaking out about having held your hand for so long.
“Zoro…”
“It’s nothing, really. He was a dick. Ex-boyfriend?” he said, trying badly to hide his jealousy.
It was funny– how he could go from quasi-murderer to shy schoolboy in minutes.
“Something like that,” you replied, looking away from his face, messing around with the hem of your shirt. Your eyes were starting to water again.
“Hey, hey,” he said, leaning down to take your face between his thumb and forefinger, “What did he do? I’ll go back and kill him.”
You laughed, sniffling in between, “He just… He left me with no explanation and showed up out of nowhere today. It was so long ago I shouldn’t care. I don’t! But seeing him all of a sudden was just-”
Zoro wrapped his arms around you and pulled you into his chest where you let several more tears flow, staining his shirt.
He petted your head, holding you close to him with his free arm unsure of what to say.
“‘m sorry, Y/n,” he muttered, shuffling his feet, “I shouldn’t’ve asked.”
“It’s okay!” you insisted, wiping your eyes with the backs of your hand.
Zoro, who’d only known you for a few months, had defended you and your honor without a second thought. And though he’d probably been a little excessive your heart swelled at the thought of how he’d stood up for you.
““Sorry about your shirt,” you muttered, patting the stains on his chest where you’d soaked his shirt with tears,
He looked down and smiled, “It’s ok. It’s an old shirt anyway.”
You laughed, “Yeah and it’s not super clean either.”
His cheeks grew pink and he lightly punched your arm.
You suddenly grabbed his hands in yours, surprising him.
You squeezed his hands extra tight and looked up at him, “Thank you, Zoro. Seriously. I don’t know why I didn’t knock him out myself and I never shut down like that but I– Thank you.”
Zoro nodded, giving you a small squeeze back.
“I would do anything for you,” he admitted. More to himself than you.
Warmth crept up your neck and into your face.
“I mean– ‘Cause you’re my crewmate! I’d do anything for any of you guys, obviously. Maybe not Sanji but, well, yes him too just don’t tell him I said that.. But I meant, as in, like,” he rambled suddenly realizing what he’d said.
His hands still in yours you pulled him down, crashing your lips into his. The sudden addition of his full body weight on top of yours sent you both falling backward, stumbling until your back hit the brick wall behind you.
“Oh, shit– sorry! Sorry,” he said, pulling away from you.
“No, don’t be! I shouldn’t have….”
“Kissed me?”
“Pulled you so hard,” you responded, your hands still holding the other’s, “Thank you. I hope that shows I really mean it.”
His eyes were looking anywhere but yours and his cheeks were a furious shade of pink.
His hands were still in yours and he gently shook yours off.
“Zoro?”
He stayed silent, embarrassed and unbelievably happy, and wrapped his arms around you again. You were pulled into his chest and he stayed quiet, hugging you tight.
Ah, you understood, he didn’t want you seeing him so vulnerable.
“You know,” you said, your voice muffled by his chest, “I can’t kiss you again if you hold me down here.”
You felt him tense up and his arms stiffen around you.
“Fine with me,” he grumbled.
“You’re blushing, huh?”
“.........No.”
“Then let me out.”
“Will I get a kiss?”
“Thought you didn’t want one.”
He pushed you off his chest and started marching back in the general direction of the Thousand Sunny, grabbing his bandana and wrapping it around the lower half of his face, leaving you behind.
You laughed and ran behind him trying to grab the bandana away from his face which he was holding out of your reach.
You could see the ship in the distance and Zoro had started laughing too, getting more and more comfortable with the pink hue of his face.
Sanji and Nami were a little further down the way yelling at Luffy who’d ran off with a bag of groceries.
You paused for a moment, looking at all these people who loved you and, all of the sudden, the past wasn’t all that important.
Zoro turned, noticing your absence. Nami had spotted the two of you and was waving.
“Coming?”

HELLOOOOO i’m sorry this event is taking so long lol school has been so rough but I LOVE UR WRITING and I hope u enjoy!
"Just play along"
Character(s): Zoro
WC: 416
Tumblr media
The music in the bar was louder than your ears could handle but at this point you didn’t care.
You wanted to go back to the Sunny as soon as possible.
Everyone wanted to go out to eat and drink but you were just not in the mood. You sat at the bar slowly sipping your drink while watching Usopp and Franky dance. You'd normally be dancing with them, but you just weren’t feeling it today. Maybe it was the fact that it was Valentine’s day and EVERYONE in the bar seemed to have a date…except you.
You were wallowing in your own self pity till two big tan hands were placed on your shoulders.
“Come with me,” a deep, husky, slightly slurred voice whispered in your ear. Before you could protest the voice in question, who you assumed to be Zoro, lifted you off your seat and slung you over his shoulder.
You tried to get him to put you down and kept asking where you were going, but he only grunted in reply.
He dragged you across the bar and plopped you in front of a few guys. You assumed they worked at the bar since they all were wearing similar uniforms.
“Here they are, my date for the night.”
HIS WHATTTT WHAT DID HE SAY HE SAID YOU WERE HIS WHAT HELLOOOOOOO
You, understandably, looked SHOCKED at his statement which got some questioning looks from the workers.
“You gotta prove it,” one of the workers said.
“What??? Why do I gotta do that?” Zoro questioned angrily.
“Come on if you guys are really a couple it shouldn’t be a problem.”
“Okay what is going on??” You asked, confused on WHY ZORO OF ALL PEOPLE is declaring that you are a couple.
Zoro got close to your ear and whispered. “Just play along,” before pulling you into the deepest sloppiest most messy kiss of your life. He tasted like sake and salt, but you didn’t really notice because you were busy freaking out that ZORO WAS KISSING YOU????
“Fine fine here you go enjoy,” the workers handed Zoro a big jug of sake and walked away.
Zoro had a big triumphant grin on his face while you were frozen in shock.
When you finally broke out of your shocked form you freaked out.
“WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT???”
“They said that couples get a free jug of sake as a Valentine’s day special.”
“SO YOU KISSED ME????”
“I HAD TO PROVE IT SOMEHOW!!”
~~~
The night ended with you and Zoro sharing the sake you earned and you feeling a little happy that of all the people in the bar, he picked you to be his fake date.
“Do it again”, Zoro demanded, through gritted teeth.
You felt the light-headedness from your orgasm as you came down from the euphoric feeling. You didn’t even realized the mess you’ve made on Zoro’s dick and the sheets below you.
One thing about Zoro is he is very determined and driven in everything he does. Whether it’s his dream of being the “World’s greatest swordsman” or when he pushes himself to the limit during his workouts.
So when your juice’s sprayed against him mid stroke, his competitive nature took over, determined to see how many times he can make you squirt throughout the night.
His tight grip on the back of your thighs, folding you like a pretzel as he continued pistoning his cock inside you. The position had him reaching your deepest walls, stimulating your sweet spot.
“Mmm….good girl,” Zoro hummed his priase, “Taking me so well”
A harsh smack to your cunt made you cry out as you reached your second orgasm of the night.
“Oh..fuck…that’s it!” Zoro cursed, slapping your cunt again harshly, “keep cumming on this dick”
The way your pussy fluttered and squeezed against him was making it difficult for him not to empty his load in you. But he needed you to do it one more time.
And he didn’t care how long it would take.
You dreamed of small coffee shops. Coffee shops whose ambiance was interrupted by your crew, who had followed you into its cozy walls.
You dreamed of cool, sea breezes and polishing weapons as Zoro laid his head on your shoulder, snoring up a storm.
You dreamed of--something hard and sharp kicked your face. Something hard and sharp that kicked your face repeatedly in a near frantic manner.
It had your eyes snapping open and held a hand up to protect your face from getting kicked again by the cloven hooves swinging your way. Chopper hung from the edge of his hammock grunting and whining as his hooved feet continued to try and find something to stand on.
“Chopper.” You said, blocking another kick. “Chopper stop.” You grumbled, making the doctor freeze. He turned his pink, top hat-wearing head down to look at you, giving you an anxious little smile.
“Sorry--wait, what are you doing in here?” He asked, his body getting swung slightly by the sea rocking the ship.
“I was trying to sleep.” You huffed, reaching over Zoro’s still snoozing form to grab Chopper. He let go of his hammock and patted your hand with a nervous laugh.
“Heh, heh…silly me. Sorry, Y/N. I’ll let you get back--”
“I am going to murder you both.” Zoro's rough voice said, cutting off Chopper and rumbling through your arms. Chopper gave a squeaking little noise, squirming in your grip and giving apology after apology that was broken by a loud scream when Sanji's head popped up next to him.
“If you two idiots don’t--” When Sanji’s blue eyes found you lying there, the murder, which had once been shimmering in his eyes vanished. “Beautiful.” He greeted, leaning in closer with that charming smile of his. “I thought I heard your melodic voice. What are you doing all the way down here with that dirty oaf?”
“I’d watch your mouth, waiter.” Sanji’s eyes snapped to stare daggers Zoro’s way, who had yet to open his eyes.
“Good morning, Sanji.” You sighed, grabbing hold of Chopper's hooved hands to lower him down onto the nice fabric of the couch below. He bounced a few times before hopping off onto the floor. “I just needed a snuggle buddy is all.” Zoro’s hand reattached itself around your waist and pulled you away from the cook smiling at you.
“If a snuggle buddy is want you needed, you could have come to me. A radiant beauty such as yourself shouldn’t have to stoop so low as to ask such a brutish creature for such things. I’ll do it without a single complaint.” Zoro’s eyes snapped open then with a growl, zeroing in on the chef.
“I’ll give you something to complain about, curly brow. Two things.” He hissed, clenching his fists. Sanji scoffed.
“Oh yeah? Well--” A knock on the wall between the two hammock rows had you pulling your attention away from the still arguing Sanji and Zoro to find Usopp had woken up and was watching all of this unfold with an amused smirk on his lips. The emergency exit that separated the two rooms snapped open and Nami poked her orange-haired head in, a look of slight annoyance on her face.
“Pay up.” He chuckled, looking overly proud of himself as he held his hand, palm up and fingers wiggling, down towards the navigator. She opened her mouth to argue but Usopp silenced her with a simple head nod towards you and Zoro. When her blue eyes scanned you both over, she shut it with a huff.
“What are you two up to?” You asked, sitting up to watch them better.
“Oh, nothing to worry your radiant head about,” Usopp said, teasing you with the compliment Sanji had just given you. Nami ducked her head back into your shared room, grumbling away only to come back out two seconds later with a few green berries which she slapped into his hand.
“Don’t forget the specifics, Usopp,” Nami said, resting her elbows on the ledge and extending a hand toward Usopp with a smug look. “Pay up.”
“But--”
“Pay. Up. Or I’ll add interest.” Usopp groaned and handed her half of the money he had just earned back.
“Usopp.” You hissed, making the man jump around startled, to face you again. “What the hell?” He seemed to grow overly nervous then.
“Oh, you know. Me and Nami are just--” He looked back to Nami for help but the navigator gave him a little salute.
“Hope you two love birds slept well.” Nami teased your way, making your heart nearly freeze.
“Love birds--Nami--” Zoro snapped away from his argument just as she slammed and locked the emergency exit shut.
The swordsman looked over Usopp's nervous grin as he sunk deeper into his blankets before his attention drifted down to you. He took in your tensed-up demeanor. Took you in slowly and in a way that was long enough for him to try and gauge what you might possibly be thinking in that moment.
“Alright.” He hissed, having made his assessment of you. Zoro sat up a bit in his newfound annoyance, making the hammock sway dangerously. You grabbed onto his strong chest for dear life, feeling gravity pull you towards the ground.
New sturdy and not literal burlap sack hammocks were definitely in order.
“I’ve still got another hour left and I’ve had it up to--”
“Did someone say snuggles?” The groggy voice of your captain sounded, cutting the grumpy swordsmen off. You watched with a chuckle as he looked over the edge of his own hammock to spy Zoro and you. “Y/N!” He greeted cheerfully, rapidly ripping his sheets off and rushing up.
“Luffy, no--” Zoro’s warning was cut off with a pained Oomph that spilled from your own lips as well when your captain's body landed on top of both of yours. Dull pain shot through your bones, but the warm, stretchy arms of your captain extending around both your bodies was quick to ease the small hurt.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were going to have a sleepover? We could have had Sanji cook us snacks and everything!” Luffy ecstatically said, his voice slightly muffled from where he had buried it between you and Zoro’s necks. A laugh spilled from your lips as you unwedged your arm out from under Luffy’s body to hug him back.
“I’m sorry, captain. I’ll let you know next time.” You chuckle, patting his back.
“You sure as hell won’t tell him.” Zoro gruffed, grabbing Luffy by the scruff of his red vest and pulling him away.
“Aww--why Zoro?” Luffy asked, a near-heartbroken look on his face that only continued to irritate Zoro.
“Yeah, Zoro?” Sanji teased, a smug grin on his face. “Let’s all snuggle up together next time. I call dibs on the spot next to Y/N--” Sanji had hardly gotten your name out of his mouth before Zoro was flinging Luffy’s body into him. Chopper gave a scream as the two went crumbling to the ground with a sharp grunt, the poor doctor caught in the crossfire and crushed under their bodies.
“I’ll beat you all into a bloody mess if you don’t leave me the hell alone. No one is snuggling with anyone.” He barked down at the pile of bodies on the floor, which slowly started to rise. Luffy gave a forlorn little moan before Sanji threw him off himself.
You chuckled, starting to raise to get ready for the day when Zoro’s strong hand latched around your waist. He gave it a sharp tug to pull you back into his side.
“No.” He said simply, closing his dark brown eyes once more.
“I thought you said no one was snuggling with anyone?” Zoro huffed.
“You’re not no one.” He said simply before going silent once more. You felt your chest warm at his words. A warmth that only spread as you watched his face begin to soften, sleep come to take him once more.
With a satisfied smile, you snuggled right back up into Zoro’s strong hold.
