Promo?

As the camera flickers to life, a young girl stands before you. She gives you a cutesy wave toward its lens and giggles softly to herself before starting towards you, gently dusting off her skirt.

"Nishishishi~! Finally! It was taking soooooooo long to set this up! Hmph... Anyway! I'm Kokichi Ouma, the Ultimate Supreme Leader! Yep, I know Kokichi's a boy name, but nope! I'm totally a girl! Did I getcha~? Anywho, I made this blog to try and make some new friends... and recruit more subordinates~. Aha! That was a lie! Totally a lie!"

"Oh, and don't be creepy with me. I've got pepper spray, you gross assholes!"

She takes a bottle out of her pocket and waves it threateningly at you. Then she slips it back into her pocket and grins childishly at you once again.

"With that all said and done, I'd like a promo please! And you'd better gimme one, or else my organization is gonna come get you! Got that? Or... maybe that's a lie~. Who knows~? I still want that promo, though! And that's the truth!"

this short story is inspired by this audio ↑ it isn't necessary to listen to it to understand the text, but if you read & then listen i think it adds something.

♪

sayaka maizono stands at the school's auditorium, but the seats are completely empty. she's not her in performance clothing, and her hair is messy and undone, and she hasn't even warmed up yet. she doesn't know what summoned her to get off of her couch and walk over half the school campus. perhaps it was nothing.

perhaps she should go back to bed. it is almost five in the morning, after all. she had neglected to sleep.

a small buzzing sound caught her attention and she turned to see the academy's microphone set still turned on and hooked up to the auditorium speakers. she wouldn't be surprised if leon had stayed up late practicing his music and forgotten to turn them off. she should turn them off, now, so he wouldn't get in trouble when a facilitator noticed they were on.

but when she picked up the microphone, the cold plastic on her warm hand, and stood there aimlessly, she thought of how very long it had been since she sang something for herself. just for herself.

probably not since she had done all those things for the attention.

would she still sound as good, now without the fancy re-touches professionals could do with raw audio and the gorgeous graphics other people made for her videos? or had the people praising her at her auditions just loved the voice of a child, and now that she was turning seventeen soon would loose her 'charm'.

the industry never holds one in the spotlight for longer than it wants too. it would probably be a short estimate of time before she got into some scandal and the fan backlash would uproot her entirely, or if her music would somehow become stereotyped as the music odd people listen too and people become disinterested in listening.

would she still sound as good, then? could she even sing with no one listening?

she wasn't warmed up, or had taken the pills to ready her vocal chords, and she'd get in due trouble from her manager if she sang now and wore out her voice for later. she probably had something or other where she was supposed to attend and look flashy and beautiful for who-knows-what in who-knows-where.

but singing was supposed to be for yourself, right?

that was the whole reason she started.

Hey! So, one time on TikTok I found ''Survivor Leon Kuwata'' video (big sorries, but I really dont remember the creator!). Today I though about it... And what if *Sayaka* survived?

So, I started by redoing her sprite a little. Her hand is blood-blurred, her hair is badly cut. Her shirt have a blood stain on her chest, and her eyes have dark bags due to lack of sleep.

How did she survive? When the class trial ended and her body dissapeared, she simply... Woke up. She woke up in abandoned classroom, still in the building. She had nothing to eat, how to clean herself, but her bleeding stopped. She took some books and wiped the blood with pages, then taking off her high-sock and bandaging her wounds. She waited in the classroom for someone to come and help her. She waited a day. Another one. Another...

Then another killing happened. Someone else appeared in the classroom. And with more and more people, they all helped eachother out - someone had a candy in a pocket. Someone had a tissue.

They somehow managed to break the door! They ran away from the classroom and down to first floor... But nobody was there. Did the rest already escape? Monokuma wasn’t there either. Nobody was but them.

They ate. They ate much food - all were very hungry from waiting days to get out.

But the food didnt come back. So did shampoos, other supplies. But as long as the water stayed - they were good. They ate after 3 days, then stopped again. Again and again.

Monokuma gave them spare clothes earlier, so they could just use them from their rooms. It was hard to live - but not impossible. When the shampoos ran out, most of the people with long hair partially cut it out so they wont get that dirty - water didnt clean out everything.

Until someone came into the building. They get out into the world...
