It’s been a while. I needed a bit of inspiration and I made myself some silhouettes of women writers - inspirational women to inspire me when I am working and crafting. And then I thought, maybe others would like these, too? So I am xcited to share this new item from my Etsy shop: a set of silhouettes of women writers. Jane Austen, Louisa May Alcott, Emily Bronte, Elizabeth Gaskell, Beatrix Potter, Virginia Woolf. More info: https://etsy.me/3HgX0JZ
I’ll keep this short because I suspect nobody has time for my lengthy waffle 😂. You can now find the sale open at ScissorsandSmiles on Pattern by Etsy.
However, if anyone *does* want to read more, here is the marketing blurb 😉. We have an amazing number of items on offer for you, all for fixed-prices. There are 13 different offerings, made or designed by fans, for fans. Multiples of the items…
Upon request, I have restocked the Marlborough Mills cotton tote bag. Rings a bell? Yep, that is fictional Mr Thornton‘s cotton mill in Elizabeth Gaskell‘s „North and South“. If you are fan - or know a fan - of the book, here‘s a great gift idea for you… More info at https://scissorsandsmiles.etsy.com/listing/1112867120
I worked on a custom order today. Instead of making the micro mini books into earrings, I left them as is. They will be used as game pieces for a board game, my customer revealed. How fun is that? You can find them in my Etsy store (link above).
Have you ever noticed how big a penny actually is? My micro mini books are actually even smaller than a penny. But they are the perfect size to dangle from an earring. Featured in my clip are the #Tolkien books, a set of two pairs of earrings with The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. There are lots of other authors featured among my mini book earrings.
Get ready for Halloween early and wear your favourite scary novel on your sleeve - well, or your jumper. These mini books are 3x2cm, come with real pages (although unprinted) and have the first edition‘s fly leaf on the first page. Scary has never been so cute ;-). A few busy days are behind me. Along the way, I cracked the 1,000 sales mark on Etsy. So grateful to anyone who has ever bought one of my little mini book pieces, whether pin or earring. Truth universally acknowledged etc. - my best seller is probably Pride & Prejudice. No wonder, the cover is just so pretty with the peacock design. It never ceases to amaze me when I get to package up and send an order all the way to the other side of the world. There’s something almost incredible about thinking that something I made, now lives on the other side of the globe...
I used to be an avid diarist in my teens - but somehow lost interest. Slightly embarrassingly, I never really made a junk journal for myself but only for others or for my Etsy store. Until Covid. The enforced time at home got me back into writing a diary. And writing a diary is nicer when you have a pretty journal to write in...
