ohhh and i just remembered an idea i had!! it's a little silly but i think its cute.

spy & scout but theyre penpals. no they dont live in their home countries and yearn for each other across the stars. theyre not even on opposite teams. its just that every conversation they have in-person turns into an argument. scout is trying really hard to become friends with spy, so as a last-ditch effort he writes him a letter and slides it under his door. spy actually responds, and from then on they learn they actually enjoy some of the same things. mainly art. scout sends him portaits and landscapes hes done at the places theyve battled at. spy finds himself coming to respect scout and even find him quite amicable. they dont talk at all except through letters beyond this point, but express their good humor towards each other through knowing smiles and assists on the battlefield. scout works on a comic expressing his feelings toward spy, and sends him snippets, right up until the end of them being penpals, when he finally sends the full pages to spy expressing how he truly feels about him.

(scout's letters always begin with "dear spy," while spy's letters always begin curtly with "scout,").

I think the reason why I find Scout ships so appealing is that no matter who you pair him up with (romantic or platonically), they indulge him with their time.

It’s the patience they seem to have for him, listening to his rambles that are often overlooked or deemed annoying but they decided to actually try and understand him.
