Tae has been repeatedly acknowledged as the one who brings people into the fandom. It seems like every time the group stepped foot on US soil, he would go viral (and for good reason). And yet, as a solo artist, he has not stepped foot in the US for three years.

I've loved the choices he's made during his solo chapter. Doing the music he loves, focusing on live performances. He has said he wants to show a different side than he does in the group. And he's been clearly showcasing himself as that authentic artist.

Do you think this connects to his overall promo strategy? Is this an intentional choice? Or a timing constraint? Or company nonsense?

When Layover was released, there was a strike in the US and he couldn’t go to the regular shows, and let’s hypothesize this was taken into consideration so they recommended a promo more Asia-centered, the company (responsible for the distribution and the promotion of the album) still didn’t try to promote him in the US. There was active sabotage, there was disinterest and mismanagement. To not mention how USELESS was Geffen in that period.

Taehyung is someone who cares deeply about his music and he thrives on praises, the more fans he could reach the happier he would be, so I find this sabotage ridiculous and disrespectful towards him as a person and as an artist.
