"You're so cold." Bdubs murmured in annoyance.

"That's the point."

He was sure that, if he were more awake, he'd actually be able to see that cocky laugh and smile of theirs.

"S'poses to be cold… dungeon 'n all…"

"You're gonna freeze me."

"Mhm?"

All he could really do was grumble when Tango curled around him even tighter, arms and tail wrapped around Bdubs and nearly engulfing him.

"Better?"

"Absolutely not…"

He could practically feel Tango's grin without even looking, simply knowing how his boyfriend is.

"Mhm? Looks like you're already falling asleep, snookums."

"Shuddup…" He slurs.

And he hates it, that Tango is right as he drifts into sleep again. It's almost dawn, he should be awake by now and then it'd finally be his turn to tuck Tango off to sleep.

But here he is instead, listening to Tango's oh so gentle, warm purr as a fae play with his hair–

"You're adorable…"

"I am…?" He murmurs in false disbelief.

"Yeah, like a little kitten." Tango says as if he isn't the one here purring.

"Thought you were…" Bdubs murmurs, but sleep is pulling so hard on him and that gods forsaken purr again his ear and cheek and–

He fell asleep again. Because of course he did with stupid Tango and his stupid purr.

By now there is actually light outside the Monolith's windows, showing into his bedroom through slits and holds. The smell of pancakes, eggs, and bacon wafts through from the kitchen.

Or maybe the same room? He can't tell.

Creaking of old, wooden floorboards and taps on stone following up his bedside before he reluctantly opens his eyes out of curiosity.

Tango's still under him, half asleep after being forced to cuddle with Bdubs all night. Next to the bed, with a tray of food and a laugh on his lips, is Impulse.

"Tango said he was trapped and needed someone to save him." Impulse says lightly.

"Did he?" Bdubs partially cracks and he can see Impulse's eyes crinkle with affection.

He looks back at the netherborne before pulling himself up off faer chest to kiss his cheek.

"C'mon, baby, gotta get up and eat breakfast." They mumur, pressing into his cheek as he groans. "Impulse made you pancakes, my love."

Again, the netherborn groans even as Bdubs continues to prod. His hand slips up to hold Tango's cheek, brushing against cold skin as he kisses his boyfriend's lips.

"My love, you're not very good at faking sleep." Bdubs says lightly.

Tango's eyes practically snap open to glare at him. Smoke flashing over ice as he wraps his arms around them and flips how they're laying, his head now on Bdubs' chest as he purrs.

And Bdubs groans, rolls his as if this is the hundredth time. Probably because it is the hundredth time.

But Tango is smiling even as they're both offered their plates of food. A silly, sleeping thing as Impulse sits next to Bdubs and wraps his arms around the dryad.

It's quiet, welcoming, home, and so many other words. It's comfort.

Is it possible for this blog to show house floorplan blueprints of Ciel's main mansion, Ciel's townhouse, and the Midford mansion? I'm just wanting to know how extragantly the Phantomhives and the Midfords live.

Floor plans

We only have partial floor plans for Phantomhive Manor, which are shown in the murders arc. I could figure out a bit more of it, but it would take a while, be very incomplete... and possibly still include mistakes. Since the panels are so closed-in when our earl runs through the house and finds his parents and the dog on the floor, dead, idk if that scene occurs in the bedroom or in the front room of their suite. Quite possibly the front room.

I imagine the floor plans for the townhouse match well with Phantom Manor in Paris. It might even have some underground space, like the entrance to the amusement ride does... just not serving the same purposes. Then again, Phantom Manor is more facade than real home, so its floor plan might be missing a room or two that would be found in the Phantomhive townhouse. I'm not sure.

Similarly, the floor plans for Midford Manor probably match well enough with Scotney House, part of the Scotney Castle estate.

However, I find it particularly difficult to get a floor plan for it, since it's been split up into apartments/flats for many years.

At least we know there's a secret door in the library and two false doors in the dining room.

I've decided to start sharing some of my everyday lunches! it's nothing fancy but I just love taking pics of my food haha.

Today's lunch/1st pic: Veggie nugget sandwich with apple pieces and a mug of cold green tea, my favorite simple quick lunch!

2nd pic: some falafel from a food cart near my wife's workplace! I love falafel sm, I would eat it every day if I could haha.

3rd pic: Japanese pumpkin from my partner's mom's garden, tofu with green peppers, and rice. Chia seeds in my green tea this time!

4th pic: mung bean rice soup that my partner's mom made for me to help soothe my sore wisdom teeth. It really did help with my mouth pains. :)

um well. i went to have my daily shadowhunters watch right before i went ti sleep on Hulu as I do EVERY NIGHT . as i go to click on the episode (season 2 episode 17 in case u care) it informs me that the show is EXPIRING in thirteen days shadowhunters is my literal coping mechanism WHAT will i do when i can’t type in hulu WITH EASE and then click shadowhunters and then click season 1 episode 12 my LITERAL COPING MECHANISM WHAT WILL I DO

I don't know if you've already mentioned this in any of your posts about Tower Bridge, so hopefully I'm not repeating the same idea back to you, but there's a detail I feel supports your theory regarding Queen Victoria reallocating the Phantomhive resources to that project. It's the abandonment of the Phantomhive estate and land.

I was reading this post and it occurred to me that the Phantomhive manor not being in use when O!Ciel returned with Sebastian is a sign that Queen Victoria didn't care about the Phantomhive's property so much as their other resources. O!Ciel returned to his manor in the same state it was left in during the attack, and Sebastian fixed it. Perhaps Victoria sent someone there at one time, but it seems to have been abandoned throughout the twins' captivity. Furthermore, O!Ciel and Sebastian were able to use the manor in secret for a time. No one came to check on the place until their presence was known.

I find this to be a reasonable sign that Victoria only had use for their other resources. Or none of them, but I feel your theory about her using the Phantomhives' resources is more plausible than that.

Left to decay

I've talked about it before but not with much detail.

Not only was the manor itself left in ruins, but the roads apparently needed repairs. Bridges, too, and getting trenches re-done. All the work that had been done while Vincent was there (ch132) was left to deteriorate. Only a couple months, probably, but weather and constant use will create a lot of wear and tear to roads and bridges. The roads are probably mostly dirt/gravel anyway, and those need constant maintenance to keep ruts from forming where the wheels usually roll along. And erosion, debris, etc. will start to refill trenches. Besides, we don't know what repair/building/digging projects were still just in the planning phase when Vincent was killed.

Some of the estate dwellers were still on the property, like the old man who was probably deemed too old and infirm to work on Tower Bridge, as well as some of his grandkids, who were too young/not skilled enough. I imagine that the vast majority of people who stayed would have been too old, young, or weak to be of much use to the queen.

Our earl might have found out that some of his residents left to work on the Tower Bridge project in London, but he might have figured they left simply because there were better work opportunities in London and elsewhere; he might have not known the queen relocated them... and allocated them. Or, if he knew the queen had used funds and resources (people), he might have automatically accepted it since Phantomhive Manor and the surrounding estate was in such a sorry state of affairs. It had been relinquished to her, so she had "every right" to do with it as she pleased. It's probably just never occurred to him she could have caused this to happen, with the intent to take the money and move people around.

He probably hired more people on as soon as he could. Perhaps a few previous residents returned once they found out it had been restored. And he made repairs as soon as he could, in order for the workers to transport their goods to market with ease again. Even in ch120, that old dairy farmer we see again and again is praising him for repairing those roads.

Even now, there are some younger adults, but a lot of the residents are very old or very young.

Real Ciel says that it looks like cheap goods from the US were having a negative impact on the sale of Phantomhive estate goods, and that might be true. However, if the workers on the estate had trouble even getting their goods to market, and if the workforce was reduced, the issues were way worse than whatever real Ciel realized.
