Sera Myu .gif Dump (Aug 4, 2023)

Since I have been finally freed from the clutches of real life responsibilities in the form of final exams, I think it's finally time to drop MORE of my Sailor Moon musical gifs (to also celebrate the recent release of Sailor Moon Cosmos) where today I would like to appreciate Sailor Moon bravely squaring up against enemies on her own while the rest hypes her up in the background like an awesome fighting game sequence.

What makes it amazing to me is that prior to this, the rest of the senshi were having difficulty getting the upper hand when they're the ones fighting them (Galaxia understandably because it's Galaxia) and then suddenly, this blonde girl with tennis balls on her head, a tri-color three-layered skirt, and big fluffy wings appeared out of the blue and gracefully threw hands.

(La Moon is a little difficult to show due to the fast constant changing of shots but I would totally recommend you all to watch the videos yourselves because watching it with music just puts it all together beautifully. Also Uranus, where are you going?)

Sera Myu Review: Usagi Ai no Senshi e no Michi (1994)

This review comes too late i know, but here it is!!. Also, this is MY opinion, so please, please, respect it. Thank youu and please be free to tell me your feelings towards this musical.

So, here is the thing: this musical is very special to me because it was the very first sera myu musical that I´ve ever seen. Actually the first video of sera myu that I watched was “Gondola no Koibito-tachi”, so it is going to be veery hard for me to judge, you have been warned LOL.

The one thing that I love about this musical is that it´s very funny. Yeah, maybe the humor is very silly but I think it fits very well with the story. That being said, the screenplay is very rare to say the least, do not get me wrong it was much better than Gaiden, but I feel that this arc was not very well developed and that they mixed moments that would be better in the previous and next arc (black moon / dreams) such as that the senshis wanted to pursue their respective dreams. Speaking of which, I can never understand why Ami is always the target of the bad guys. This happened in most of Bandai's musicals (although it seems to me that it only happened during the first stage) and then in Nelke's (in the Reconquest). On the other hand, I would have liked to see the Black Moon arc, the truth is a shame they didn't do it because I think it would have been very good. Also, although Usagi continues to fight with Chibiusa during this arc, she does not have the same intensity as in Black Moon and in this musical it seems as if she is jealous of her, which would be much better in the previous arc ..

Professor Tomoe is not one of my favorite characters but I still didn't like how he was portrayed here. Kaolinate had more participation than him and I hated the part when Usagi, wearing that ugly dress (poor Anza gosh, she had to fly over wearing that thing), asked them to stop ... I swear, I had to advance that part because It was unbearable, the same thing happened with Tabidachi, but that was Ayako's fault, because I don't like her performance during the song. I really really like Ryuuji Kasahara, another guy that I adore!. He always plays bad characters but he's so funny and so entertaining to watch ... obviously he had a lot of fun. Sometimes I try to imagine what it would be like if he had been Mamoru ... I mean I LOVE Yuuta as Mamoru but Idk It is hard to imagine Ryuuji playing another character but I think he would have nailed it . What do you guys think?

On the other hand, and to not make this post so long (LOL) I must say that Anza was much better than in the previous arc. I see her more comfortable and her crybaby moments are better, I really like how she fights with Chibiusa, which by the way, she went crazy hahah. I really liked Ai Miyakawa, she was very sarcastic and mean, very funny to watch. Anza also has very good chemistry with the rest of the senshis, and without fear of being wrong, I would say that the best group of senshis is in this musical: Ayako / Amy is the classic Amy who has moments that work for me (for example in this musical, when she tries to get Usagi to fix herself with Chibiusa) and others not so much (I don't see anything interesting in her character, it's always the same, although maybe it's not her fault) Kanoto / Makoto I LOVE HER TOO MUCH, I mean I think It goes unnoticed among the fans and I don't understand why! Well yes, maybe the "feminine" part of Makoto didn't develop, but it's not that bad either. She looks a lot like manga and anime, she is funny and, unlike other actresses, she participates in the story, she is not there to complete the group. Nana / Minako I LOVE HER !! Again, she is not the Minako that we are used to seeing, but in this musical I think she is excellent, also she is funny and a little crazy. The only "bad" thing is that her leadership is not appreciated, but again, it is not her fault (damn script LOL), Mikako / Rei another who I LOVE, far is one of my favorite Mars / Rei and in this musical I like Although it does not shine unfortunately, but I love her just the same. Finally, impossible not to name Yuuta because he is a fantastic actor. Being his first musical as Mamoru / Tuxedo I must say that I liked him a lot, his chemistry with Anza is something from another planet, it is something very genuine, fresh and real: you can feel that they love each other. I'm looking forward to it but they are my favorite couple of all musicals.

To sum up, yes, I really liked this musical, not only because of the performances I mentioned above but because it is very special to me. This arc never caught my attention honestly, don't ask me why, but of all the ones there are, it's the one I like the least. But this musical works for me better than the anime LOL. The next review will be of the Dreams arc, and maybe I'll upload it next week.So this is my review, please fell free to message me sharing your opinions!!

@sera-myu-week saturday: Favourite Outfits

So this is the first time I explain WHAT I do in this awsome sera-myu-week (btw I am so glad my bestie @vampiru-chan decided to create the Sera Myu Week and I am impressed and happy, how many people joined!). So for my favourite outfit I chose the second outfit of the Dracul Arc’s ultimate bakabitch I mean badass-bitch QUEEN Lamia, portrayed by Kazuko Ono. I always loved Lamia. Like she was such an unique and awsome original musical character and I wished she would appear in more of the Dracul Arc musicals. But she didn’t and we had much more nice characters instead and that is exactly why I love the Dracul Arc so much, we have so many great characters. Okay and now back to the topic: the outfit: I remember so WELL when my very unique love-hate BF once said: “Omg look at these beautiful breast/chest-pads! xD” AND I was like, OMG you’re right. Like everyone is always amused about the SHOULDER pads many antagonists have in the Myus but did you ever pay attention on Lamia’s chest-pads? Well, probably said friend and me pay too much attention on other women’s boobs (even though we’re STRAIGHT af xD) but it’s still a really funny fact. Actually I think the costume designers were like: “Okay, so vampires are dark and cool and the women are always SEXY. And since we’re in Japan it’s big boobs=sexy.” So but when Kazuko Ono-sama came to the dress rehearsal, the costume designers realized: “F*ck, since we’re in Japan, our women are flat af. What can we do? We need a sexy vampire lady here, that’s a problem, ahhhh! OMG let’s just put pads on her chest. NOBODY WILL SEE THEY’RE NOT REAL. Brilliant idea.” *COUGH* I swear it was that way xD Apart from the very rediculous chest-pads I adore the outfit. Like it’s dark and has this pretty long and WIDE skirt (not like the stuff they put Le fay on “COUGH*) and the cape is very vampire-like. I also like the silver applications which, what I just realized, also underline Lamia’s body curves. Especially the line that goes down her waist. It’s a clever addition (cleverer than the chest-pads omg). The DEEP dress slit also underlines Lamia’s I’m-sexy-and-I-know-it aesthetic. Maybe I’ll analyse Kubisuji wo Sashidase in the near future but what I can tell you so far: The “Blood and Spirit” line doesn’t only say that she wants to drink blood (what I am sure she is already doing a lot) and having a soul (because the church tells us demons don’t have souls). It actually says that...well look at the gif in the middle. She sings “blood and spirit” in a very yearning way while putting her hands..where XDD? Well, you see it yourself and maybe you’ll guess what she actually wants since she is an unDEAD... *cough* *cough* hehe. So if you read till here HAVE A COOKIE and POST the CODEWORD BLOODY-QUEEN in the comments yay xD (honestly, please do it I really wanna know who read all this stuff xD)

I planed on posting this to @seramyuconfessions but since it became quite long, I’m just gonna post it here

I’m just wondering that what is with all the negativity that is going around lately in Sera Myu Community? Almost on every confession where somebody says something nice about some actor, there is someone who is saying negative things about them(especially when the confession is about New Myu actors) For a couple of times when I have seen a confession about someone complimenting an actor, it has made me really happy but then when I check the notes there is someone saying negative things about them and it has really brought me down. That is also why I haven’t made any confessions, because I don’t really want all the happy things to be turned into something negative. Yes, everyone is allowed to have their own opinion on things and say them, but if it’s always negative, why say it? As the saying goes, "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all." Yes, criticism is obviously allowed and welcome but sometimes it just seems like pure hate and it’s really depressing to see something like that in a franchise that is Sailor Moon that has been with us since childhood and since it particularly represents love and friendship. Like someone said previously, “This whole old myu vs new myu is starting look worse than 90's anime vs Crystal...” And it probably is already. I’ve been there and seen the war between Classic and Crystal and it has been horrible and the amount of hate some actors(New Myu in general) is not far away from that. In my case, I dislike Crystal very much and don’t like what Toei did, but you don’t see me go screaming into somebody's face that how bad Crystal is if they say something nice about it. Why? Because I know that there are people who are genuinely enjoying Crystal. And I don’t want to be the one to bring them down because I don’t personally enjoy it. So same case with New Myu, why can’t you let those enjoy it who do?

I’m still quite new at this fandom so I don’t know all the details but what I have heard is that New Myu is the one that brought everyone together. I know that many are very passionate about Sera Myu but I just can’t personally see that is community/fandom would stick together like this about things that happened about 10 years ago, as seen that many fandoms have dissolved after the anime/movie/tv series has ended and since this fandom was quite small to begin with. And basically New Myu/NogiMyu is the only thing at the moment that basically keeps the franchise going. Yes, we have the Classic Concert, (which is kind of a one-time-event) and Crystal but it has been on hiatus for a very long time.

And then there is the thing what happened with Mikako. I’m not really filled in myself what happened but what I know is that many fans are hating on the actors because they don’t like the production. It is not the actors fault what happens in the play. They didn’t make the script and are just doing their job.

If you don’t like New Myu, that is fine. If you don’t like Old Myu, that is fine. It is impossible that we would all agree on something, as @sailormooncrystalfailures says, “We are all different people in different places of the world so it’s only natural we’ll never come to an agreement (and I repeat, that’s perfectly ok as long as we all respect each other while saying our opinions and tastes).” New Myu has it’s flaws but so does Old Myu. Since both are relatively good and has brought so many amazing things, we can’t just appreciate that we have them? Or would it just be better without them?

Since Sailor Moon is such an amazing franchise that we all love and it truly is a miracle romance that it still keeps going after such a long time, even when everybody thought it wouldn’t. It is really depressing to see this much negativity since every implementation Sailor Moon has it’s own charm.

This turned out to be quite a ramble but I just needed to say this. If you want to hate me for this, be my guest. I just couldn't stand this negativity anymore.

Omg. Glad I am not the only one seeing things like this! I wasn’t a fan of the costumes to begin with and compared to ‘usual’ myu everything seems kind of halfhearted to me. Wig styling, stage, actor/character representation ... idk it just doesn’t click with me I guess :/

Couldn’t agree more with you. I’m surprised at the sloppiness of this myu. I heard they sang some old myu songs like la soldier and fire, but even that can’t save it (and I don’t even know if that’s lazy writing) ��

“Sloppiness” and “half-hearted” are both words that definitely rings true to how I feel about this myu after seeing the image and video clips so far. There is a sense of hype or expectation from this idol-group branded sera myu that what we are seeing now is not reaching, even if my expectation had always been low.

While I didn’t expect, but definitely hoped, that this myu would capture the “essence” of the Sailor Moon and Sera Myu series, I had expected there will still be a sense of “artistic appreciation” for the work that they do. I can’t pinpoint what I was expecting in terms of this being a Sera Myu” production, but I expected it to be something that would hold up to the idol group’s standard, having heard from others that idol group musicals are typically very well done and it isn’t about fan service but artistic and performance excellence. Given that Sera Myu is so established already, I expected something that has good quality for a “musical production” and to live up to the “Sera Myu” franchise even if they do things differently - good stage, set, costume, singing etc., even if I was prepared to not expect the “normal Sera Myu” I was used to. If the photos and videos are not even meeting my expectation of a good “musical production,” I do not know what else is left for me to look forward to with this when the odds feels so stacked again this.

I can’t even see how a NogiMyu could possibly benefit Sera Myu if it is so poorly done.

If someone has seen the show in person or have other tidbits to counter my negative option, I welcome them with open arms.

Sera Myu Gif Dump (Year-End Pt.2)

I have successfully retrieved my laptop from my aunt for the time being. As I will be celebrating the New Years with family, I thought I would drop my last half of my Sailor Moon Musical Gifs to wrap up the year. This time, I will show you gifs I made from the extras of good ol' Bandai Myu.

I love Yuuka so much because she's so playful outside of the actual musical performances. She'd made Michiru do things that you wouldn't even think Michiru would do. Nao and the other Outers (occasionally, also the Inners) playing along with her skit makes it even sweeter. I really hope to find more of these extras to hoard. (There is no subs in this extra)

A very rare moment between Pluto and the Prince of Earth and it is SO CUTE. The confused panic from Shirota, in the end, just made his own moves and I am all here for it. Someone give these two kisses and a vacation ticket each.

Again, this one doesn't have a subtitles either. I am too sleepy to put anything witty or something. If you guys have any Myu-related content , that would be great!

Note: I hate this post solely the fact it's so scuffed hahahaha. If you guys didn't know, there was supposed to be one more section to this after the Omake but I was on the verge of passing out (I was half-asleep when I made this) despite wanting to post the second half before 2023 so bad. So I decided to put it on the next one coming up as an opener for the year. This would also mean I can now make more gifs! She was first played by Haruko Yamaguchi in the Stars musicals (as Sailor Titanium Kerokko) and Megumi Wakamatsu in the Eien one (renamed to Sailor Mitis Kerokko). La Reconquista Appreciation Post

I watched Sera Myus ”La Reconquista” yesterday for the first time and was not sure if I should do it in the first place.

But I totally love Zoiste there! He really is the very best and always a highlight in EVERY version “Sailor Moon” got over the decades.

I even liked his relationship with Ami/Mercury! I never considered this a possibility, but they were really sweet together. A loveable couple that had much potential. I was sceptic when it came to the infamous Senshi-Pairings I never liked. Not that I expected Kunzoi or anything, but... Well, nevertheless, I soon got caught by Zoisite and Ami - shame on me. They are really cute in La Reconquista and that’s it.

I was sad when the show ended, I would have liked to see more scennes with these two and (of course) more Shitennou-scenes. They were totally cool and very heroic in the end.

A request to my mutuals: If you’re going to post about/reblog posts regarding the newer Sera Myu, could you all please tag them either by their titles or as “new myu” or something like that? I have no interest in seeing them all over my dash, and I use those phrases to blacklist them. I’d really appreciate that.
