predictions for next nu carnival character maybe?
so when the devs released the new PV, one of their tweets also mentioned a new member. a lot of people are hoping its another bottom. a lot of people are also hoping for a hairy bara bottom, but i think olivine and morvay are the bare(ha) minimum closest we'll get to it.
We have 3 human love interests and 7 nonhuman love interests, of which 3 are yokai. it would be nice to have another human love interest, although if he was nonhuman, it would be nice to have him not a yokai or not ambiguous like rei & quincy. Of the love interests, we also have 1 obvious extrovert (blade), a half extrovert (garu/karu), 2 possible ambiverts (olivine & dante), and everyone else is a very likely an introvert. can we get a bottom thats actually extroverted? We also only have 1 guy from the Fire territory, and no one from Dark territory. (Technically we don't know where Rei is from, and Blade & Garu don't originate in the Dead Zone, we just found them there).
Other missing characteristics: anyways, then i remembered that a lot of people call Rei as kuya if he was a bottom, and Dante as edmond if he was a top, and i personally see blade and garu as bottom/top comparisons of each other. which means yakumo and olivine are the only ones who don't have a "opposite role" version. obviously, olivine's already a bottom, so that means i'm guessing we'd get a bottom version of yakumo. so like an anxious, borderline yandere service bottom? Also, except for Olivine (and Morvay) all the bottoms are fairly vanilla (yes Rei's a power bottom, but i don't think he's kinky). A yandere bottom might be an even bigger masochist than Morvay/Olivine. Although if we take out the anxious part, and Rin became a bottom clan member, then we'd get the yandere bottom xD
Battle or plot-wise, I think the only thing we're missing is a good tank other than morvay. (Seriously, none of the SSR guardians beat SR morvay at the moment. There are reviews that say Rainy Rei is better, buuut he's an limited event SSR whereas everyone gets morvay from the beginning). Alternatively, Rei's low rarity units were all sabateurs when previously it was only Kuya. Currently, Olivine and Yakumo are the only support and healer low rarity units, so I suspect any new members might be a healer or support. (Honestly we don't need any more low rarity strikers).
As for "jobs"/plot archetype of the love interests, we have the chef/healer, the priest/teacher/healer, the knight/security, 2 kinda ancient magic users, 2 hand combat fighters, a royalty, and a scientist. 4 of them personally knew Huey (+Aster&Morvay, although Garu might have been kidnapped by Huey?). If I think in terms of D&D/other fantasy "roles", we have a lot of the combat/royalty/healer roles fulfilled, and Aster/Morvay fulfills the trade roles. So maybe an entertainer (i.e. Bard, Jester, etc)? And because NU: Carnival is NU:Carnival and they had the guts to put Morvay in a gloryhole room, i'm thinking an actual sex worker. And since sex/essence regulation is a key part of this universe, he can still be plot relevant. Also, that way we can finally have another experienced kinky character that could be an extroverted service bottom. It's only in a porn gacha game that revolves around sex, would we be able to find a sex worker as a useful role. Please utilize this opportunity! Especially since your protagonist worked at a sex toy company.
Sooo piecing all this info together, i'm hoping we get a bottom, who is mostly human, extroverted but possibly anxious, possibly kind of yandere, a sex worker, from either the Dark or Fire territory, and is another tank, healer, or support.

it’s so funny because Joey Potter and Donna are actually extremely similar to the point of being almost identical in my opinion — smart, Not Like The Other Girls, brave, really good at basically everything in the world, worshipped by every male who meets them, down to earth tomboys but also feminine and beautiful, tough and snarky but supposedly sensitive deep down, judgmental, and sooo many more commonalities! Maybe it’s the acting that leads you to prefer Joey? Totally just theorizing—I always find it fascinating to dissect why we love certain characters and are meh on very similar ones! Also, if Rogan had been on that list of notps, where would you have put them?! I’m guessing between Joey/Dawson and Leyton?! I love your blog!!
I never considered any of that, but you're absolutely right that there are a lot of similarities between Joey and Donna. They're similar character archetypes, down to generally being considered the most attractive female character on their shows. Due to both shows coming out in 1998 (though That '70s Show was a period piece taking place in the seventies), the "Not Like Other Girls" writing makes a lot of sense. It's only in the past decade that fiction has started to pull away from that, but it was especially bad during the 90s and 2000s. Both girls were introverted and connected with male friends much more easily than female ones. I don't know that I have a strong opinion about Laura Prepon's acting, though I think Topher was overall a stronger actor than Laura. But Katie consistently elevated her material. Especially during the first four seasons. A large part of the show centered around the Dawson/Joey relationship, and Katie 100% carried James in their scenes. Not to be too negative but if there was ever any rooting value in the Dawson/Joey pairing, it's because Katie sold Joey as the pining underdog well enough that you just wanted to see Joey get what she wanted. Even though their romantic relationship, as short lived as it was, was meh at best. Another reason it was easier for me to prefer Joey to Donna is basically because while T70S was a comedy, Dawson's Creek is a drama. Therefore, we see and hear more about Joey's sad back story and issues regarding her grief and clinging to the Leery family as a surrogate family. While Donna has her own problems regarding Bob and Midge's bad marriage and lack of boundaries, I don't feel like as much time was spent on how that made Donna feel or how it affected the way she turned out. Then again, I could be forgetting a lot. It's been a while since I properly rewatched the show.
Thank you for loving my blog! I seriously don't know why. As for Rogan, I'm not sure? They're still one of my least favorite Gilmore Girls couples, but Rogan is still better to me than Rory/Dean and Lorelai/Christopher. But I also don't like them and REALLY disliked that they were still involved in the revival. Maybe I'd place them between Rosschel and Dawson/Joey?

12 titans headcanons please ❤️
yes ❤️
❤ warning: this is gonna be a very long post ❤
OCEANUS
Oceanus is the oldest of the Titans, and i really like the idea that he grew to adulthood within a day of being born.
i think i've mentioned this in some Gaia hc's previously, but i don't think that Gaia had any of her children in the "conventional" way that we're used to.. as in, none of her children were actually formed in her womb- instead, i imagine that she and Ouranos only had to place their hands on the Earth to cause their children to be born.
for the Titans in particular, i like the idea that Gaia caused a field of flowers to bloom, and within 12 of them were each of the Titans.
Oceanus bloomed first, and was named by Gaia (i think he's the only one who was actually named by her, herself- more on this later).
we know that Ouranos never cared for his children, so i think that the 12 Titans were originally born so that they could help Gaia take care of the Earth,, thus allowing Ouranos and Gaia to spend more time with each other.
so when Oceanus was born, he had to grow quickly so that he could take care of his siblings and raise them (Ouranos wasn't about to let Gaia go "wasting" her time taking care of children).
Oceanus builds the first village, and his primary motivation in everything he does, is to take care of his siblings.
i think he's very paternal,, though he doesn't like to show it.
Oceanus is very stoic as well... he hates brash decisions and always takes his time to think about things before he says something or does something.
also, in Gaia's absence, i think he named all his siblings, and i think that although all the Titans refer to him as their brother, they also have the understanding that Oceanus has been more of a parent than either Gaia or Ouranos, and they all look up to him a lot.
Oceanus isn't cowardly, but i don't think he likes fighting. he would much rather preserve the peace at the sake of his own freedom, than have said freedom but at the price of blood being spilled.
that said, he could definitely pack a punch if he chose to.
related to Oceanus’ unwillingness to fight, i think this is an important factor in why Cronus (who is the youngest) becomes King instead of Oceanus (who is the oldest).
technically, it’s Oceanus’ birthright to become King after Ouranos, but Oceanus doesn’t possess the qualities required to be a good king, and he knows it, which is why he never challenges Cronus’ authority or tries to take the throne for himself- he is absolutely okay with not being king, in fact, i think he’s grateful for it.
TETHYS
Tethys is, as the lore states, Oceanus' wife, and i think she's always been really close to Oceanus- the only one who truly understands Oceanus' deepest feelings.
since Oceanus doesn't really show much emotion physically, i think it's sometimes difficult for the other Titans to know exactly what he's thinking, but Tethys is very intuitive and understands Oceanus quite perfectly.
i think Tethys is slightly more energetic than Oceanus, but she's still the most quiet of all her sisters.
she too, prefers not to fight if she doesn't have to, but while Oceanus will wait for the very last opportunity to fight, i think Tethys can be persuaded to make a move earlier than she usually would.
i also think she's more adept at fighting than Oceanus.
when Oceanus and Tethys are referenced in poems and plays, they are usually described as the "primeval parents", and are often referred to as the "genesis for all" which i think is really cute, and although Tethys isn't the goddess of motherhood, i definitely think she's very maternal (i mean, she has 3000+ children, so we hope so, right?).
after the Titanomachy, it is said that Oceanus and Tethys became Hera's foster-parents, so i imagine that Tethys and Oceanus opened their home to many gods and goddesses, even if they were simply passing through.
Hera, in particular, i think had a closer bond with Oceanus and Tethys than with Rhea- and that of course is no fault of Rhea's, i just think that's how things happened.
everyone talks of this idea that Zeus would go around pestering Oceanus and Tethys when he was trying to court Hera, and i like that idea as well ^_^
i think Oceanus was particularly reluctant to let Zeus be with Hera because Oceanus has had sooo many daughters who have been effectively abandoned by their husbands (see: Metis, Asia/Clymene, Hesione, Eurynome, etc.) and he doesn't want that to happen to yet another one of his kids.. but Tethys, the sweet voice of reason whom Oceanus has a hard time saying "no" to, intervenes on Zeus' behalf perhaps because she sees something more in Zeus' proposals, which is why Oceanus finally concedes and allows him into his house.
CRONUS
now this guy >:)
i've said it before, but i just really really like the idea that Cronus is the epitome of "you either die the hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain".
before i said that Oceanus grew to adulthood within a day because he had to take care of his younger siblings, and following this logic, i think some of the younger Titans took more time to grew simply because there was no need for them to grow up quickly- they were going to be taken care of.
as the youngest, i think Cronus takes the most time to grow.
most of his life, his siblings are ordering him around which i think gets to him a little, so of course, Cronus has always been a little bit mischievous and a little sneaky.
i think he gets along really well with Iapetus. they are “terror twins” as Oceanus calls them, and as children, they would always get up to no good.
in terms of morality, i think initially, he’s actually quite sane and level-headed. he understands that war is brutal and should be avoided if it can, but he also understands that sometimes war is necessary. this is what makes him, initially, a good king- because he understands the need for balance.
but,, after sometime, i think he goes insane with Ouranos’ prophecy and he convinces himself that murdering his children is just a part of the job- it’s his duty.
i like the idea that Cronus sees himself first and foremost as King. being a husband and a father is second to kingship.
i always wondered what makes a man go so mad that he’d eat his own kids, especially after he literally deposed of his father for doing effectively the same thing- why would he willingly follow in the footsteps of the god he hated so much? well, i think it’s because Cronus is driven by this philosophy of being King before being anyone else.
he believes that it’s his job to protect the world, the way he did that first time when he rallied his siblings together to fight Ouranos. Cronus believes that his children are going to ruin the world and destroy his siblings, and he loves his family and the world too much to let that happen,, and if he has to choose between his children and the world that he has sworn to protect, well, as King, isn’t he obligated to choose the world?
and after that, he just goes downhill, and i think he loses sight of the bigger picture, and becomes the villain.
also- not relevant to the core of this section but i just wanted to talk a little about Philyra, the mother of Chiron by Cronus ^-^
so in the original myth, i’m pretty sure that Cronus and Rhea are still married when Cronus and Philyra get together,, and that’s why when Rhea catches them and gets pissed, Cronus panics and turns into a horse (which is why Chiron is half god, half horse- lololol Cronus, you absolute loser).
anyways, i love the myth because it’s funny, but i don’t like the idea that Cronus was actually cheating on Rhea- i mean, first you eat her children, and now you’re cheating on her?? c’mon, have some tact!
so i have my own little take on it, and that is that Chiron is born after Cronus gets disposed (so when Rhea and Cronus are pretty much divorced).
i like the Orphic version of events where Cronus gets sent to Nyx’s cave, so following from there, i imagine that Philyra must have somehow helped Cronus escape from Nyx’s cave (probably because she was manipulated by Cronus),, and when they escaped, they came to Mt Pelion, which coincidentally, is where Rhea, now happily retired, lives.
so that’s how Rhea accidentally discovered her ex-husband’s affairs (which is in line with the original myth where Rhea catches them).
of course, i don’t think Cronus ever cared about Philyra to begin with, i think he was just using her because i don’t think the “player” archetype suits Cronus- he’s not a romantic, that’d make him too similar to Zeus, and the last thing Cronus would want would be to be like his son.
anyways so where does Chiron’s equine nature come into my version of events? well, running from Nyx’s cave to Mt Pelion on foot sounds a little tiring, but luckily, Cronus is a god and can therefore turn into a stallion, so he and Philyra probably ran away like that.
i don’t think Cronus ever actually knows about Chiron. Philyra, in the myths, is ashamed about Chiron’s appearance (which is really rude and mean), so she abandons him, but i like the idea that she simply wasn’t ready to be a mother, much less a mother of a child born from a war-criminal, so she instead leaves Chiron on Rhea’s doorstep. and Rhea recognises immediately who Chiron is, but she’s the goddess of motherhood so she adopts him, until Apollo comes in a few days later and decides to take Chiron. anyways, so that was a little bit of a tangent but i just wanted to share that ^-^
another thing- i know we all like to make jokes about Cronus seeing children as good for only one thing- snacks- but in all seriousness, i don’t think that was the case. i’ve said before what i, personally, think his real motivations behind consuming his children were, but i don’t think he was averse to the concept of children and having a family entirely.
ok, i have to divert to the story of Prometheus to explain myself here, but bear with me for a sec- so Prometheus gets punished because he helps the humans- but why does he help them? why does he love them so much and why does he feel sorry for the way they’ve been treated by Zeus?
well,, we know that Prometheus was alive during Cronus’ reign. and during Cronus’ reign, Cronus made the Golden Age of Man where mortals lived in peace and harmony, free from interference by the gods, where no one did the “wrong” thing, and life was great. so couldn’t it be that Prometheus had seen what life for humanity could have been like?
my hc is that Prometheus had seen what Cronus had done for humanity and was appalled by what he now saw under Zeus’ rule.
so what does that have to do with Cronus and children? well, i like the idea that Prometheus grew up in the palace, and he had known Cronus all his life. i like the idea that Cronus actually spent time with his nephew, and was the one who first introduced Prometheus to the mortals. i think Prometheus and Cronus actually were rather close as uncle and nephew. so,, i don’t think that Cronus hated all children,, he just didn’t think he could have any of his own.
RHEA
Rhea is one of my favourites <3 i think she’s one of the cooler Titans.
i think her personality is defined by her courage, and her ambition- in fact, i’d call her the most ambitious of all the Titans.
as a young Titan, i think she got along best with Cronus and Iapetus, and i think she actually had a bit of a mischievous nature, similar to them. i think she enjoys pranks and good jokes.
she’s the kind of goddess who would do anything on a dare (i think she was pretty wild, and maybe a little shameless, in her youth, much to Oceanus’ distress).
in saying that, i think Rhea has also always been very headstrong. she’s not arrogant, or rude, but she if she has opinions, she will make sure you’re aware of them. you don’t have to agree, you just have to understand her point of view.
she’s also a little spitfire (a little like Hera tbh), and she is very good at fighting ^-^
but, Rhea is also incredibly kind and forgiving. considering what she goes through during her marriage, i think she is remarkably strong. while Cronus goes insane, Rhea remains standing tall- she survives Ouranos’ rule, Cronus’ rule, and is alive to witness Zeus’, and she is never on the losing side which is a testament to her character and strength of mind.
in the previous section, i said that Cronus follows the philosophy of “King first, husband/father second”, but i don’t think Rhea agrees with this at all.
there is never any way for her to justify to herself that her children needed to be killed- it’s a horrible and messed up idea and it’s honestly a wonder that she didn’t go insane after it happening to her children five freaking times.
i think that what makes Rhea a good queen is that she doesn’t work in absolutes- see, Cronus believes that either the world is saved, or his children are saved, but not both- but Rhea, who is always driven by courage and hope, believes that it is possible for the world to have peace and for her children to also be alive.
where Cronus is an architect of plans, and an executor, Rhea is the thought-process- the one who thinks things through carefully and evaluates the effects of the action... she’s more level-headed, and she doesn’t get angry easily.
after Cronus is deposed, i like the idea that Rhea remained on the throne a little longer- Zeus was simply too young to be allowed free reign immediately, so she kinda pulled the strings behind the scenes.
i don’t think that Rhea has favourites amongst her children. i think she is very protective of all of them and she loves them all very much, but i think the one she finds most difficult to get along with is Hera, maybe because Hera is the most similar to her (which is why Hera spends more time with Oceanus and Tethys than Rhea).
there are versions of the courtship of Zeus and Hera where Zeus and Hera keep their relationship a secret from Rhea because Rhea will disapprove of it, and i do like this version of the myth because i think it makes sense. i think Rhea has some fear that Zeus will repeat the mistakes of Cronus and Ouranos, and she doesn’t want Hera or Zeus, for that matter, to be hurt the way Rhea was hurt.
we know that Zeus had already swallowed Metis, so Rhea believing that Zeus could become like Cronus isn’t too hard to believe.
speaking of the Zeus x Metis myth, i don’t think Zeus swallowed Metis intentionally. i think that, at that time, Zeus was still incredibly young- he had only recently defeated his father, and was still finding his way around the world. so when Metis told him about the prophecy concerning her son defeating Zeus, i imagine that he must have panicked and lost control of his powers, and without meaning to, he had reduced Metis to her divine essence, and she disappeared before his sight (he thought she was simply dead, and didn’t realise that Metis and her child were dwelling within him). Rhea is the first one to discover what transpired between Metis and Zeus and she was probably pretty horrified.
but, Rhea knew that Zeus was still young, and of course, he’s her son, so she refuses to just give up on him straight away- instead, they work on things, and Zeus gets better, and they move on. but i’m sure that the incident gnawed on her mind, and she worried for both Zeus and Hera, hence why she was reluctant to allow them to marry. but as the story goes, she conceded, and Hera became queen ^-^
HYPERION
Hyperion is the fourth Titan, and i think that all-in-all, he’s a pretty chill guy.
generally speaking, Hyperion doesn’t really like to fight, mainly because he thinks it’s boring and the risk of his face getting ruined is just too great for him.
i think he is a little vain,, he loves flattery- he likes being complimented and he likes complimenting others.
i also think that he’s a little bit weak-willed, or rather, i think that when the Titans were all young, he would often be the butt of the jokes.
in saying that, i think Hyperion has good spirit, so although he’d be a little annoyed about all the jokes and the pranks, he never takes it to heart because he understands that it’s all just a joke.
in some myths, it’s said that after Ouranos was deposed, Cronus divided the world into four parts- Hyperion ruled in the West, Iapetus in the East, Coeus in the North, and Crius in the South, while Oceanus took the seas, and Cronus of course, ruled over time + the whole word in general- and i really like this idea.
after the Castration of Ouranos, i think it’s the first time that the Titans actually split apart and start living on their own and having families.
Hyperion and Theia live in the West, and have Selene, Eos, and Helios.
after the Titanomachy, it’s said that Cronus and all his brothers were placed in Tartarus, but given the importance of Selene, Eos, and Helios during Zeus’ role, i just can’t imagine that Hyperion was one of the Titans sent to Tartarus.
i don’t think he would’ve actively supported Cronus towards the end (i mean, he was very clearly insane and needed to be deposed), but i think at the same time, he would’ve been reluctant to oppose Cronus, given how powerful Cronus was. and again, there’s that conflict with the fact that it was Cronus who freed the Titans from Ouranos, so i guess things aren’t really that black and white for Hyperion.
if Hyperion did fight for Cronus, i think he would have done so only out of obligation (because Cronus is the king, and he defeated Ouranos).
THEIA
Theia’s the eldest of her sisters, and i think she has always been a bit of a natural-born leader.
i think she gets along best with Rhea ^-^
but while Rhea is a little more level-headed, i think Theia can be louder and more hot-headed, with a quicker temper.
given that she is the goddess “who endowed gold, silver and gems with their brilliance and intrinsic value ”, i think it’s a fair hc to say that she enjoys jewellery and pretty, shiny things, but, in saying that, i don’t think she could be bought over with gifts.
i think Theia is more strong-willed than Hyperion, and i think she is best reflected in Selene who takes after her the most.
i imagine Selene to be very graceful and elegant- willing to fight, but only once she’s carefully understood her opponents and her situation.
in the Theogony, Hesiod writes that all the Titans were hesitant about killing Ouranos, except Cronus who stood up and rallied them, and while i think Rhea was the first to agree with Cronus, i think Theia supported him next. but!! she wouldn’t have ever supported him during the Titanomachy- i think she would have taken Zeus’ side, if she was involved in the fighting.
also, this isn’t really relevant i guess, but i really like the idea that Theia’s weapon of choice is a whip. like one of those ones made out of a chain with the sharp blades at the end, so that it sparkles as it slices through the air. i just think it’d be neat :D
COEUS
alright, now, strictly speaking, Coeus doesn’t have much of a mythology- he’s pretty much only known as the father of Asteria (mother of Hecate) and Leto, and the guy who ruled in the North when Cronus first became king.
BUT!! very interestingly, in the Argonautica, it’s said that Coeus was thrown into Tartarus after the Titanomachy along with his bros, but he went insane and tried to escape, but Cerberus, being the good guard-dog he is, caught him and sent him back.
anyways, i think this is very interesting because none of the other Titans are really given such a myth.. i mean, none of the other Titans went so insane that they tried to escape from Tartarus (at least, not that I know of).
this myth fits in with my hc that Coeus has the least will/strength-of-mind from all the Titans.
to be honest though, in the same way that i don’t like the idea of Hyperion being sent to Tartarus, i don’t really like that Coeus would have been sent there either. his daughters are Asteria and Leto, and both of them must have been loved by Zeus.
Asteria’s daughter is Hecate, whom Hesiod says was honoured by Zeus above all others. so while Asteria isn’t listed as one of Zeus’ lovers, i think he had a lot of respect for her.
Leto, as we all know, was Zeus’ sixth wife and the mother of his beloved Apollo and Artemis, so there’s no doubt that he loved her.
and so, in light of this, i just can’t imagine that Coeus’ daughters didn’t appeal to Zeus and ask him to have mercy on Coeus, because if they didn’t plead for him, this might imply that they didn’t feel pity for him, which further implies that they might not have loved him as a father at all. and the natural conclusion of such a sentiment is that Coeus really wasn’t much of a father to them- and if that’s the case, then that means that NONE of Gaia’s Titan sons (except Oceanus) were good fathers. and idk, that just doesn’t sit well with me.
why is it that only the goddesses were spared? are they somehow naturally always gonna be on the hero’s side because they’re female? are the gods always gonna be on the villain’s side because they’re male... “boys stick together”? idk it’s dumb.
that’s why i like the idea that Asteria and Leto must have pleaded for him- i think he was a good father, and they did love him. did Zeus listen? i guess that’s another story.
but i do like the idea that Coeus didn’t really want to be on Cronus’ side, it’s just that he was scared of the consequences of opposing him- Coeus is regarded as the titan of “rational intelligence”, and if you ask me, it’d be pretty rational to not want to fight against a psycho when you have a family to think about.
also, i know it’s not a part of the actual myths, but i do like the idea that Coeus was a titan of magic/witchcraft as well, because that might explain where Hecate gets her abilities from.
PHOEBE
Phoebe is Coeus’ wife, and she’s also the titan goddess of prophetic wisdom.
once again, there really isn’t much lore for her beyond the idea that she was the oracle before Apollo.
this isn’t in the myths, but my hc is that Asteria and Leto represent Coeus and Phoebe’s domains- so while Coeus’ magic gets passed down to Asteria and then to Hecate, Phoebe’s prophetic powers are transferred to Leto and then to Apollo.
so, although, it’s not supported by the myths, i hc that Leto had prophetic powers as well, it just might have not been as strong as Phoebe’s or Apollo’s.
anyways, back to Phoebe- i think that the best word to describe Phoebe would be “sweet”. i think she’s very kind, and generous, and mild-mannered, where most of her sisters are a little more.. wild.
i don’t think she’s much of a fighter, nor is she devious or scheming. she’s really just quite innocent.
CRIUS
Crius is another Titan without much mythology.. his main role is as an ancestor of the gods, and apparently as the first to observe the constellations, thus why he was known as the titan of the constellations. which is pretty cool IMO.
i personally imagine Crius to be very intelligent and smart. i think, given his domain, he really enjoys stargazing <3
for the most part, he’s a very level-headed, calm, and reasonable guy, but i think he’s also quite aloof, and not very vocal about his emotions.
i think that he’s pretty comfortable with bending his morals to suit the bigger picture, and that’s why i think he does actively support Cronus during the Titanomachy (hence why he gets sent to Tartarus).
i don’t think he really cares for pranks or jokes. in a sense, he is very similar to Oceanus, and from all their siblings, i think growing up, he gave Oceanus the least amount of trouble.
Crius’ children are Pallas, Perses, and Astraeus.
i’d imagine that Crius has control over the stars and the constellations, and is capable of what i’d call “celestial magic”. and i think this ability is inherited by Perses, who becomes the father of Hecate by Asteria, and that’s how the magic gets passed down to Hecate, and why Hecate is so revered as the ultimate magic goddess.
just as i said earlier that Phoebe and Coeus aren’t really fighters, i don’t think Crius is a fighter either. he’s more of a strategist, and would rely on magic rather than using actual swords and stuff.
anyways, enough about the Titanomachy!! i think my third favourite pairing after Cronus x Rhea, and Oceanus x Tethys, is Crius x Eurybia!
there is no mythology concerning how they met or how they were married, but i like the idea that for most of her life, Eurybia was raised by Gaia and Pontus away from the rest of the Titans,, but Gaia, who is more risk-taking than Pontus, understood that Eurybia wouldn’t stay with them forever, so eventually Eurybia starts leaving their home more often and she goes out exploring the world.
and on one of these occasions, she stumbles into a forest in the South, which is part of Crius’ domain, and that’s where they meet for the first time.
i think that Eurybia is always more at ease with her feelings than Crius, and she’s very vocal about it,, which would make for a good comedy routine with the more conservative Crius, who’s less willing to let emotions rule his head, but under the guidance of love, eventually opens up more <3
+EURYBIA
Eurybia is not one of the 12 Titans, but she is the daughter of Gaia and Pontus, AND Crius’ wife, and i really like my idea of her so i’m including her here ^-^
in Hesiod’s Theogony, he describes Eurybia as having “a heart of flint within her”, which is a really cool idea!!! she’s also described as the goddess of “mastery over the seas”, which refers to the things that control the sea like the winds, and the Moon, etc.
her name also means “wide-forced”, so i imagine her to be a very headstrong and free-willed goddess.
because her father is Pontus (the sea), and she also has some control over the sea, i imagine her to be a little unpredictable, like the sea. i think she has moments where she can fly into an intense rage, or she could be absolutely calm.
i like this idea because she becomes almost the antithesis of Crius. where Crius is more calm and rational, Eurybia is more passionate and unpredictable. i think they balance each other out very nicely.
strictly speaking, Eurybia probably was not thrown into Tartarus at the end of the Titanomachy, but i hc that she was.
i think during the Titanomachy, she would have sided with Crius, and she would have fought on his side because she loved him and would have supported him in anything that he did (also once again, i don’t like the idea that Cronus only had the support of his bros, and that only the guys got thrown into Tartarus :/).
Astraeus is Eos’ husband, and Pallas is Styx’s husband, and both Eos and Styx, on many occasions in the actual myths, have been evidenced to be on Zeus’ side. so, although in reality, Pallas at the very least probably would’ve been on Cronus’ side (since, in the Theogony, Styx takes her children to Zeus first, and Pallas isn’t really mentioned), i like the idea that Astraeus and Pallas both fought on Zeus’ side instead, and escaped punishment.
which makes things tricky for Eurybia, because some of her sons are on one side, and then her husband and her other son are on the other side- what’s she supposed to do?
Eurybia is too headstrong to simply be passive and sit back and let her boys fight, so i think first she fights on Crius’ side, but then she also fights to save Astraeus and Pallas when they get into trouble.
i think she accepts that her children have grown up and made their decisions, but she also understands that she will always be their mother, and she will never bear them any resentment for fighting against their father.
also, one of Pallas’ children is named “Bia”, and i’d like to think that he named her after his mum <3
i think “Bia” is Crius’ nickname for Eurybia <3
IAPETUS
i hc Iapetus to be the supreme troublemaker amongst the Titans.
i think he has served as the largest source of headaches experienced by Oceanus when the Titans were young >:)
Iapetus loves jokes i think. he loves pranks.. all kinds of humour. he’s more street smart than book smart, and actually i think if he was trying to study, he’d lose focus after 2 minutes. but call him to participate in a prank? the guy is coming up with plans like a general preparing a war campaign.
i think as the second youngest of Gaia’s Titan sons, Iapetus has always gotten along the best with Cronus. prepare for trouble, and make it double :)
this is specific, but i’ve got this idea that when they were young, Iapetus and Cronus decided to slip some dye into Themis and Hyperion’s basins, so when they washed their hair, Themis’ hair turned pink, and Hyperion’s turned green,, but Oceanus caught Iapetus and Cronus and forced them to wash out the dye as punishment ^-^
anyways, what i’m saying is that Iapetus and Cronus have always been the closest of brothers.
i also think that Iapetus hates people who boast about themselves, or act as though they’re superior to everyone else, so he’s never really gotten along with Themis (who i imagine to be a little vain- more on that later), and that’s why he likes to play pranks on her (to irritate her).
Iapetus has five children- Prometheus, Atlas, Anchiale, Menoetius, and Epimetheus- by the Oceanid Asia... but i think that from all of them, Prometheus is the most like Iapetus.
i think Prometheus shares Iapetus’ mischievousness and his wit, which is exactly what causes him to end up being chained to a rock with eagles eating his liver :///
back to Iapetus though- i think he values loyalty a lot. so, during the Titanomachy, there is absolutely no question about him siding with Cronus- Cronus is his brother, and his King.. he set them free from Ouranos, and he even sacrificed his own children for the sake of peace, and, messed up as it is, i think Iapetus is pretty moved by that.
i think Cronus always had more guts than the rest of the Titans, and Iapetus always admired that,, which is why he supports Cronus till the end,, and i imagine he must have been really disappointed in Prometheus when he learnt that Prometheus had sided with Zeus :(
THEMIS
okay so in the above section i said that i hc Themis to be a little vain.
now by “vain”,, i don’t mean that she was a narcissist or that she was arrogant,, but i think sometimes her siblings,, especially Iapetus,, would mistake her advice and counsel as sounding a bit self-righteous.
Themis is the goddess of divine law and order,, so essentially- justice. and i think that from all the Titans, she has the purest sense of right and wrong, and she’s incredibly wise and sensible.
so for the Titans that tend to bend the rules a little- like Cronus and Iapetus, sometimes her advice doesn’t go down too well.
additionally, justice isn’t always what we want it to be- it’s not always nice, and it’s not always pleasant, and sometimes it doesn’t feel fair. and Themis embodies that concept, which is why she doesn’t always get along with her siblings (to clarify though- none of the Titans hate each other!! they’re still siblings, and they love each other, pre-Titanomachy).
as an individual though, i think Themis is very outspoken. she’s very loud, and i think she is just a little judgemental.
it’s said that Themis had oracular powers, and that when Cronus became King, he made her the oracle- and i like that idea, it makes sense.
although Themis can be harsh, she always gives good advice and wise counsel, and only a complete dumbass would hear her words and choose not to heed them.
during the Titanomachy, Themis undoubtedly sides with Zeus. and after that, i think she continues to serve Olympus with her wisdom and judgement.
this isn’t strictly related to anything, but in Egyptian mythology, the goddess of justice is Ma’at, and i love the idea of Themis and Ma’at hanging out together, doing social justice things... awesome ^-^
MNEMOSYNE
finally, Mnemosyne <3
“Mnemosyne” is such a lengthy name, so i have this hc that her siblings call her “Mnemo” instead (like, Nemo) :D
anyways, Mnemosyne is the titan of memory, and her children are the Muses, who pretty much embody every aspect of the Arts, and i think that really hints at Mnemosyne’s character.
i hc Mnemosyne to be extremely gifted at pretty much everything.
but, even though she knows that she’s really gifted, she isn’t the kind of person to show off about it. she’s always gracious and willing to teach others her talents.
i think she has a really superb voice, and when the Titans were young, i think she might’ve sung for her younger siblings.
Mnemosyne is also a little feisty i think. she’s short-tempered, but in saying that, i think it’s difficult to make her angry.
again, a kinda random hc here but i really like the idea that Mnemosyne’s weapon of choice is a battle-axe. i mean, she’s this sweet, kind-looking goddess, but she’s swinging her battle-axe and is about to wreak real havoc. it’s great ^-^

me seeing this update: the girls that get it, ✨ get it ✨, 😌 and the girls that don’t, 💀 don’t 💀 ✍️💅🏻👄 /hj
(in all seriousness, though, I feel like batarou fans have just been interpreting a type of relationship that’s pretty common in shounen and also funnily often makes great material for shipping in general. like, the “we’re rivals with grudging respect for the other one and their skills” type thing, where they start as enemies but have the “enemy of my enemy is my ally” moment, and may eventually end up allies or just not hostile with each other. usually done with male characters but sometimes with women too. it makes for interesting chemistry and that’s why people ship it. and ofc in opm badd and garou didn’t interact a whole lot, but the potential for that archetypal relationship was there and in their interaction. so it’s really not all that out there for them to get more interaction in the manga. I really wasn’t surprised when I saw those images when it comes down to it. Fans LIKE that kind of rivalry. I feel like people who aren’t used to analyzing media or aren’t aware of patterns in media are the ones who’ve been like “they didn’t even get screentime together and they’re obviously enemies y’all are sooo stupid for shipping them 🙄” which isn’t a dig but if you get used to looking at the things you watch for longer than just to be entertained and try to understand complexities in characterizations and character relationships, you’ll see why people tend to like pairings like this. I mean, you don’t have to view them romantically at all to see and understand how interesting interactions between these types of characters can be..not to say you have to analyze everything you watch, but to cultivate a skill to understand media in a critical manner, makes your enjoyment of good media even better, imho.)
all that to say batarou fans are galaxy brain at interpreting nuance in stories a tier above the rest 💅🏻💅🏻💅🏻 /j
I don’t watch enough anime to catch onto these relationship types but Yes. And really there’s no way they couldn’t meet up again there was too much foreshadowing for it to not happen.
Thanks for sending this it’s a great perspective!

So! Start of a new Sim Year, with the first Sunday of Spring, and it’s Day One with our new Chill Save family -- one Smiler Always! I explained their deal last week, but in short -- this is a Sim-ification of The Smiler roller coaster from Alton Park, which I got mildly obsessed with at the end of last year, and now I kind of ship Victor and Alice with ‘em. Because my brain, people.
Of course, in order to ship them with Victor and Alice, I have to get them established in my Chill Save, and that’s what we’re doing now! Let me bring you up to speed on Smiler’s deal:
1. They’re a vampire -- my first straight from CAS, I believe! I felt that this was a good fit because vampires get various brain-bending and emotion-bending powers, and given that The Smiler’s themeing is brainwashing people to be happy and obedient all the time. . .they’re not quite to that point yet, but they’re working on it!
2. They started with the Friend of the World aspiration (because of course they want to be friends with everybody), which gave them the Gregarious trait. I also made them Erratic (The Smiler’s screens tend to be a bit purposefully glitchy, and characterizing them as something of a gremlin seems popular on tumblr), Cheerful (because of COURSE -- Smile Always!), and a Music Lover (the 2013 Fireworks Show at Alton Towers really seems to suggest The Smiler likes pop remixes). Wonderful Whims added on the Innocent and Jester personality archetypes, meaning they’re very positive, silly, and fun, but can come off as too naive or not taking anything seriously. Again, really good traits for a roller coaster whose goal in life is to make everyone happy forever!
3. For preferences, they Like Yellow, Purple, Pop Music, Strange Tunes, Robotics, Dancing, Media Production, and Fitness (which was their first like that popped up in-game, thanks to feeling energized from some Dark Mediation). They Dislike Gray and Lullabies Radio. I couldn’t think of an activity they’d for-sure dislike, so I’m leaving that up to the game.
4. They have fairly wide attractiveness preferences, but I set them so they should at least find Victor and Alice attractive (like having black hair and stick-thin among their likes). These may need to be tweaked later, to increase romance chances!
5. This isn’t official (yet), but Smiler’s non-binary -- masculine frame as that’s how I originally pictured them, but they/them pronouns. (Hey, apparently the roller coaster is the color of the non-binary flag, sooo. . .)
6. And they’re currently living in one of the Britechester starter homes, as my initial plan for them is to build up their vampire power and attend Foxbury Institute to study a Psychology degree, and actually do some other stuff with organizations and the like (I’m thinking the Spirit Squad if nothing else!).
So yeah, that’s their deal -- non-binary overly-cheerful vampire with loud fashion and decor sense. As you might guess from their outfits and the way they’ve decorated their house. XD Most of this is from EA, but Smiler’s dark form, as seen in the seventh picture onward, is wearing a yellow take on Beetlejuice’s outfit from the @the-crypt-o-club‘s “Creepy Creations” Simblrween 2020 fan stuff pack, while the spiral eyes are a special face paint from Cryptiam’s Surreal Eyes Pack on Nexus Mods! Both felt RIGHT, you know? :p
ANYWAY! On to Smiler’s first day of existence, which was reasonably exciting. After getting the house to their liking, taking “Cast Hallucination” and “Occult Student” for their staring vampire powers, and braving the sun to catch some butterflies, Smiler got themselves a nice colorful umbrella and set out to make friends! Because for some reason the Welcome Wagon never showed up, thanks game! Their first attempt at friendship was with passing jogger Lillie Benitez, but things didn’t go very well -- mainly because she’s a Gloomy Sim who hates Fitness and isn’t a Music Lover, meaning she did not vibe with Smiler’s attempts at conversation. So instead they decided to use her for power practice and had her hallucinate a different friend to talk to while they watched a movie. Yay?

Why Libra is my favorite FE character
Tumblr media
(if anyone knows the artist here it’d be appreciated to mention it)
Fire Emblem has plenty of characters people give a shit about. Most of the time it’s going to the lords or any of the really popular “waifu” characters, but in recent time I’ve found people who love all kinds of people in the franchise. The best thing about FE’s characters is there’s bound to be at least 1 person in here that you’ll consider cool. Despite there a lot of reoccurring archetypes I’m willing to say FE is still able to make something that feels unique in each game, even if not necessarily good. Anyways, for me one character who’s stuck out is of course the guy in the title, Libra. I’m always kind of weirded out this guy isn’t anymore popular than he actually is. Awakening is one of the most successful games that had a cast full of characters that ended up being way too popular for their own good. And yet, Libra is one of the few Awakening characters that doesn’t exactly get to enjoy the limelight like the other part of the cast back then. With that being said though I’ve found him to be one of the most interesting in the game and as you can read in the title he’s just flat out my favorite. I guess the best way for me to start is him as a unit.
Tumblr media
Libra comes in as one of the more unique classes in the series, war monk. As a prepromote most people probably skipped over what’s given to you here despite what honestly is a pretty solid no investment unit. I say this from his C staff rank and his fairly balanced stats that lets him handle himself quite well for the first few battles he can fight in. Of course I gotta be realistic, Libra is no way a character who’s going to stay good at defending himself. Awakening’s real emphasis of making your units snowball means that ignoring to train Libra will only really leave him as nothing more than a staffbot, and even with training a glaring flaw is that Libra is too balanced for his own good to really specialize in anything unlike the other units. Another flaw comes from his rather limited class pool that leads to Sage and Dark Knight taking up spots in multiple class trees. This does give him access to helpful skills such as vengence or lifetaker, but unless you plan to grind only Libra I wouldn’t call it optimized to constantly reclass and train him. I’m in no way a hardcore FE fan that takes into account how units play in the challenge runs such as LTCs/Ironmans/Low recruitment, but I think it’s safe to assume that Libra’s overall performance will come in as primarily a support unit. But of course, judging him on his numbers isn’t my focus here.
Tumblr media
I want to start off talking about Libra’s character with what you can already see from his design. It’s no surprise that most fans make the connection to Libra and other designs such as Lucius from FE7, another favorite of mine. In-game there’s a gag involving him looking female to other characters. However while his face is feminine, he’s actually rather tall and with a masculine frame. As one of the tamer Awakening designs I actually quite like his outfit as it perfectly fits with war monk ( I know crazy). Though you can chalk that up to being biased.
Hell on first appearances you’re most likely ready to assume this character is going to be a born again christian character with the only joke being he’s actually a male judging from the recruit conversation. The fact Awakening has it’s share of running jokes among party members definitely could lead to you assuming there’s nothing interesting about this guy. Yet, shouldn’t the fact he wields a weapon (as opposed to the usual magic tomes these sort of characters use) surprise you? and an axe at that? Lemme emphasis that, why an axe?
Tumblr media
Sure FE has this tradition of the 3 main weapon types, but has it ever been used to add character? Not exactly, but it has been part of character archetypes for quite a while.
Think about what kind of character uses swords: The lords, the brave mercenary leader, the heroes, the flashy edgelords that become swordmasters. Swords almost always play a role as the legendary weapon made to save the day in FE games (as well as any jrpg). The sword will always be a symbol of courage in just about any video game.
Tumblr media
(this screencap is low quality to stay consistent with the speaker)
How about lances: As far as FE goes the lance is primarily the weapon held by the jaigen archetype and the main weapon for the more chivalrous units such as cavaliers, knights, and soldiers. The kind of characters associated with these are often the diligent or experienced members of the army. You also have the usual flying trio of characters that range from happy go lucky to those that take the situation seriously.
Now what about axes? These weapons are more often than not held by the lower class characters. Hired fighters, bandits, pirates. These characters aren’t ever bad, but they’re not exactly fighting out of heroism or for their nation. In fact these characters are the most down to earth in the grand scheme of an army full of anime characters. Maybe not sooo much in Awakening’s case with Vaike, but every single one of these weapon types have their exceptions. Also wanna mention that one of the most (in)famous weapons in the series is called the fucking Devil Axe.
Going back to Libra, why would a character like him hold onto an axe when it’s pretty apparent he’s more of a gentle character? Why the weapon type that’s the most violent looking of the triangle? Obvious reason is purely gameplay reasons involving the odd design the war monk class is, but looking at it from a literary perspective only makes it look off (especially with the female clerics). This is also something to wonder if you take into consideration his C ranking, implying he’s at least somewhat experienced. Not to mention his high stats for that point in the game.
For better or worse this kind of mystery isn’t exactly answered in the base game of Awakening. However there’s some interesting conversations that’s found in the Summer Scramble DLC that gives an idea. Specifically the one with Lon’qu.
Tumblr media
Lon’qu catching onto the dissonance of Libra’s appearance to his skill. The first conversation is only Libra claiming there’s no reasoning behind any of it. however the second conversation has Libra open up to talk about himself more.
Tumblr media
As you see there’s no explicit answer to what kind of “darkness” Libra has ever committed before the events of FE:A, but given Lon’qu is the one to take notice of Libra’s supposed bloodlust the implication isn’t going to be anything peaceful. In fact, it’s that violent nature that gets questioned in another conversation in this same DLC.
Tumblr media
Again, this conversation feels more important to take note of given what character is talking to Libra. In this case it’s the hyperviolent character who takes comfort in bloodshed (at least in the western release, perhaps Henry is different in Japan?). Either way, this conversation goes hand and hand with the Lon’qu one in a pretty easily. That is to conclude that Libra himself has had a pretty rough past filled with who knows what, and that past version of himself was most likely not justifying any murders as if justification was even something to consider. The Libra you meet in-game is of course still capable of killing, but it’s extremely obvious he has a concept of remorse.
There’s no reason given anywhere as to what changes this man to become the benevolent priest. Though really I think it’s better that Libra keeps it consistent with revealing almost none of the causes in his life and instead only showing the effects. Filling in the blank is not a new thing for FE characters, in fact fans of older games in the franchise seem to really enjoy that aspect quite a lot.
Still, even the current Libra understands himself to not be a person devoid of guilt or sin. A few supports touch upon this aspect such as the one with Sully.
Tumblr media
Libra’s doubt that he’s anywhere close to being considered a good man in the fact of the gods adds something that I absolutely love: having skepticism to one’s own morality. There’s something important to follow up this with how Libra views morality in battles in one of the supports with Gaius.
Tumblr media
Even as a supposed man of faith he refuses to deny that living a fight against the different nations in Awakening is just a matter of being on the side that’s doing more killing. Take away all the politics of any war and you’ll find people who are simply fighting for the right to keep on living. It’s what considered “just human”. I also find this conversation to be a little more profound given that is the same franchise where one of the biggest features is permadeath. These characters put their faith in their gods to escape death another day while the average player is the one avoiding death altogether.
Finally, a support with Tharja concludes mostly everything learned so far. Where she explores Libra’s memories only to find there was no peaceful childhood.
Tumblr media
A newfound devotion to a religion isn’t treated as a fix to a life full of cruelty. To be a good person to many doesn’t absolve you of the terrible things you’ve done to others.. I’m sure this kind of topic has been explored in FE games before or after and in countless other video games/movies/books/pieces of media as well, taking away the religion part of course. Nonetheless the introduction to this kind of thinking to a 13 year old version of me had me really second guessing back then, and it still comes up to me from time to time. Sure I’ve done what’s considered “good” but will it ever outweigh any terrible things I’ve also done? Even today I can’t pretend I have an answer to that, and that’s just only thinking of what I’ve gone through personally.
To wrap it up though, there’s his ending card.
Tumblr media
For such a simple ending it really brings out the fanboy in me. The entire game is filled with Libra having his doubts of being a good person according to himself and to the gods he worships. To end his story with him being believed to be a reincarnation of Naga due to his reformed nature just feels so sweet to me.
As much as I wish more characters could have a similar air to them in newer games, I get it’s just not really everyone’s preference. Fire Emblem is always going to be a series of good guys vs bad guys also dragons and with that comes making new characters for fans to get attached to. Still though, I really appreciate the attempt done with Libra. Once again the best thing about this franchise is everybody can find at least 1 character they love, they don’t even need to be playable.
I understand not everyone is going to grind supports to see everything a character has to say (especially not in newer FE games), but as you can see nearly all the nuance of this character was hidden away in dialogue. In a game full of joke characters and tropes, it is refreshing to see a character who acknowledges their own flaws and isn’t played for laughs. I didn’t write all of this to try to convince anyone in some clickbait manner like “THE DEEPEST FE CHARACTER INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS HID FROM YOU” or anything. Nah, I’m sure I sound like I’ve repeated myself many times here. But all of this was to attempt to put into words why I’ll stay with my opinion that Libra is my favorite FE character for being a reformed character done right. And for the fact that uncovering the secrets of this guy affected me personally all the way back from when I was a lot younger. And honestly a large part of it really stems from how Libra is in no way a major character, yet he clearly had a lot of thought put into him.
Tumblr media
For anyone that bothered to read all of this I wanna thank you. Whether you liked it or not is up to you, no hard feelings. I know all this is the definition of “reading too much into it”, but I consider speculation on writing to be fun. Anyways hope I didn’t take too much of your time and have a nice day

Felix for the character asks if you want and if you haven't already answered for him yet!!
YES sorry for taking so long to get around to this one!
Sexuality Headcanon: gay
Gender Headcanon: I DO like trans Felix but I’ve seen too much questionable stuff that tends to infantilize him especially in ships with him and (cis) Sylvain or Dimitri so. I like it but also it’s on thin ice
A ship I have with said character: Dimitri/Felix UGH it’s my favorite non Byleth ship, I think they have a lot of growing together and I’m not satisfied with the ending that they get in AM but god I love those two together.
A BROTP I have with said character: SETETH! Or maybe more of a DADTP because Seteth puts him in the son zone. Besides Seteth, I... like a lot of friendships with him but in canon they’re not super great (he is SO mean...). I like a lot of friendships where the other person completely catches him off guard, like Bernie, Annette, Flayn, or Dorothea.
A NOTP I have with said character: Don’t really like Sylvain/Felix. also in general I don’t like many Felix ships because I feel like Felix is too mean for the other person :(
A random headcanon: Felix doesn’t really have any specific goals/ambitions for the future, but has overall (begrudgingly) accepted that he’ll succeed his father. Also he’s never spent any time thinking about Crests, and every time Sylvain mentions them, Felix thinks he’s blowing it out of proportion.
General Opinion over said character: HOO I must admit, when I first started playing FE3H, I did NOT like Felix at all and kind of hated him because he fit right into the “asshole rival” archetype, and he’s so mean! I didn’t recruit him in any other route because I was biased against him >_> I played AM third and let me tell you... once I actually had him in my house... I started to really like him :| He’s very interesting, mainly because he’s the ONLY one that ever points out how fucked up the chivalry system in the Kingdom is. Felix is a complicated character, but the main parts of his personality is how bitter and disillusioned he is with the Kingdom. Without the Kingdom, without Knights, he doesn’t really have any goals or aspirations besides to get strong to live and protect the people he cares about. Because--without power, physical power, what else is there? The system isn’t going to protect his family, in fact, it actively harms them. The main thing keeping him anchored from becoming a wandering warrior is his family. I know a lot of people say it’s Dimitri because it’s only AM where he doesn’t become this, but I believe it’s actually his family/father. He leaves his family and father at the beginning of the war, so by then he’s already left the only thing anchoring him down.
There were sooo many times when I wanted Felix to be validated in any way that his feelings were right, but he’s surrounded by people that fully believe that their lives are lesser than their country, and Dimitri. Because of this, he has an extremely complicated relationship with Dimitri, partially because he misses his old friend Dimitri was before he became seriously traumatized, and partially because Dimitri, with his status as the King, means that his life is inherently more important to everyone else in his life.
I also think Felix and Dedue are REALLY interesting parallels. Dedue is everything Felix hates about the chivalry system--someone who fully throws his life away for his king--and he’s someone that, if he succeeds his father, Felix will have to become, himself. I only wish he had a support with Gilbert. I think, if anyone, Felix would be really good at chewing him out.

So in honor of the Fruits Basket reboot who would you say are your fave Furuba characters and ships (canon) and why? Least fave Furuba characters and canon ships and why?
Favorite characters:
1. Shigure: He ticks off a lot of my boxes for favorite fictional characters. Intelligent, funny, perverted, manipulative, hiding something, morally gray, pulling a lot of the strings behind the scenes, etc. At first I loved him for his comedic value, and then as more and more was gradually revealed about him, I loved him even more for his darker and more manipulative side, and just in general being one of those “there’s more to him than meets the eye” characters! He’s one of my top favorite fictional characters in general, not just from Fruits Basket.
2. Kakeru: Absolutely LOVE his interactions with Yuki. He combines hilarity with seriousness in such a delightful-to-read way.
3. Kyo: I’m a huge sucker for gradual character development, and Kyo is a lovely example of gradual character development done well. “Character is hot-headed and angry and prone to violence but is honestly a good guy with a kind heart, just doesn’t like to show it much” is already enjoyable for me, but to show him gradually growing gentler and calmer and more mature over the course of the series, especially towards Tohru? Yes please!
4. Ayame: ..My reasoning here isn’t much deeper other than the fact that I think he’s really funny. :P Also, I’m probably the only person on Earth who thinks this, but I’m gonna miss his bagpipes theme from the original anime. It just really fit his personality, okay?
5. Hatsuharu: I freaking LOVE his “white” side’s absolute deadpan humor. Just the things he says and does in this completely and utterly calm manner. That and his intelligence.
Favorite canon character pairings:
1. Tohru/Kyo: (Favorite canon pairing in general, not just in Fruits Basket!) A lot of this goes back to why I like Kyo as a character - the very gradual and natural development over the course of the series! I also LOVE the “hot-headed angry person that’s shy about showing affection + super gentle and kind person who’s super openly affectionate” two person dynamic, ahaha. But again, watching Kyo gradually grow more and more gentle towards Tohru and calmer and just more mature with her in general? Sooo good, and it absolutely PAINS ME THAT KYO WILL NEVER KNOW WHAT KYOKO WAS ACTUALLY TRY TO SAY TO HIM WHILE SHE WAS DYING. I also like some of that “meant to be”-ness, with Tohru’s whole “I wanna be the year of the Cat!!” thing since she was little.. and how a cat doesn’t belong in the zodiac and a rice ball doesn’t belong in a fruits basket, but the cat and the rice ball got together ;_;
2. Kyoko/Katsuya: ..Mostly due to the similarities between them and my own marriage ^^;; They met when Kyoko was in middle school, and have a 9 year age difference. Casper and I became online friends with each other when I was in middle school, and we have a 8 year age difference. (We started dating when I was 14 and he was 22, and then met IRL for the first time when I was 18 and he was 26.) Casper’s personality was also quite similar to Katsuya’s back when I was the same age as Kyoko during her flashbacks. (He’s not anymore.) So yeah, the similarities at the time of me reading the manga made it special for me.
3. Yuki/Machi: I really like “character X just really ‘GETS’ odd character Y” relationships, which this one certainly fits. I mean, Kakeru sorta KINDA “gets” Machi, but not nearly to the same extent that Yuki does. Yuki just naturally "gets” her in ways that other people don’t, and the little ways he shows it - like by breaking the piece of chalk in half when she was sitting near him and the box of perfect chalk - are so touching. ;_;
Least favorite characters:
1. Hiro: Look, I get it, he’s a kid and his character development is all about gradually growing and maturing and getting over his jealousy of Tohru and all that jazz. I get it. BUT HE’S JUST SO FREAKING MEAN TO TOHRU WHEN HE FIRST MEETS HER, I CAN’T STAND IT. .__. None of his gradual development helps make up for the fact that I just find him unpleasant.
2. Rin: My reasons are entirely 100% personal - she just plain reminds me too much of my husband’s ex, in a bad way. (Or at least, how she used to be. No idea what she’s like nowadays.) Won’t get any more specific than that. There are just too many similarities there, sorry.
3. Ritsu: He just kinda drives me crazy, in a bad way. :P And I don’t find his anxiety attacks comedic. I remember I used to over apologize for everything when I was in middle school - a trait I’m glad I no longer have - so I guess maybe seeing that trait ramped up to an 11 makes it especially difficult for me to bear? I dunno.
4. Kagura: I’ve just never been a fan of the “yandere” archetype. And her characteristics and development outside of “acts crazy for Kyo and beats him up” just don’t make up for it I guess.
Least favorite canon pairings:
1. Arisa/Kureno: I just don’t “feel” it I guess. They didn’t get to interact enough for me to go like “Yeah, I can really feel the chemistry between these two!” before they ended up a canon pairing. No gradual build-up to watch, either.
2. Hatsuharu/Rin: Haru deserves better.
...Aaaand that’s it actually. Even though I dislike Hiro, I don’t dislike the Hiro/Kisa pairing because their dynamics remind me a little bit of what I described when talking about Tohru/Kyo.
Thank you for the ask!

Okie so quick question? Who are your favorite Astro blogs?
Ahh there are so many but @ninthhousemoon: she’s very authentic and a genuine person! She always speaks her mind and is absolutely hilarious! I’d def go to her if you want someone who’s going to be real about what your asking and give you something straight to the point! And also for the comedy and she’s like gorgeous so like wyd @astrollusionshe’s really sweet!! And blunt too and I’m my opinion she really tries to be objective and fair when it comes to hearing everyone out! SHES SOOOO SMART like half of the time I see her speaking on the world and cultures and even just real life things that I literally know nothing about aha 😂 but I would go to her if you don’t understand concepts of astrology and even just the inner workings! She’s a Pisces and she’s wonderful @ayyriesYou might’ve seen her and maybe not but you will 😂😂 she’s magic! Extremely knowledgeable and can read you like a book because she’s been there and done that! One of my favs on here and a really upfront type of gal! She’s got a very warm energy about her that’s great for first timers who are new and also those who are already pretty in deep to astrology. @venusian5HES HANDSOME AND HES ELGANT AND HES ALSO A WIZARD. But seriously he’s soooo talented and he’s so insightful on astrology! He dives into areas most don’t and really debunks myths and archetypes associated with astrology as well as going into the varying nuances of it as well! Great place to start if you’re a beginner. @leoasfHES SO ADORBS he makes really great Astro posts and actually inspired me to start making my own! He’s always doing his own things and is very mysterious! But YOULL love him cause I do! @ayat-the-aquariusshe’s muy Bonita and sooo relaxed and chill! She’s super easy going and you can talk to her about literally anything!!! I’d say depending on her mood you can ask for more personal questions about yourself but don’t make it a habit! She also is very insightful and has a pretty good understanding of a lot of the more complex Astro topics! And don’t let her Pluto in the 10th scare you off she’s really all cuddles. @cutestrologyshe’s like the most gentle soul! So kind and sweet and she’ll never make you feel like you’re crazy for asking a question! You’ll adore how much time she does really take to hear you out and she’s also very open minded! @lulucuteSHESSSS another great one! She’s always reading everyone with her aspect memes and she’s also so spiritual when it comes down to it and she can really bring you to the forefront of issues you may be glossing over especially where your own behavior is concerned! I kinda wanna be as spiritually aligned as she is soon. @baby-hermesWOOWOKAOSJSKSKS I love him so much like he’s so great and so caring and sooooo loving! He’s a hoot and I love that he educates all of us on the inner workings of Gemini and is always making sure their is a level headed and equal view on all of the zodiac signs no matter our own personal relationships with the signs. @tinschkaShe’s not an astrology page at all but I ADORE her aesthetic and she posts some of the most atmospheric pictures on her blog! She’s a wonderful soul with an incredibly beautiful heart to match! She’s sooo curious of life and has this vibrant nature about her! I love her soooo much and PLEASE go check her out! There are like so many other pages and I’m sure I’m missing the rest but this is a lot of the ones I’m usually visiting as far as astrology is concerned! I do follow a lot of clothing and aesthetic blogs on here but I’m so lazy aha 😂😂 maybe another day!

Why should I watch Game of Thrones? What makes it so great?
Okay.. i’ll try and sum up the strong points of the show and why I think Game of Thrones reigns on television
> All characters and plots are interconnected and the way they all fit together is complex and brilliant.
- like season 1 is an introductory season and nothing will make the absolute sense cause you’re just seeing all of these new people with complicated names and more complicated names (that’s why it helps to watch with subtitles and i strongly suggest you read the synopsis on wiki after watching each episode for SEASON 1).
that being said.. after the season 1 finale, you start to see why the name of the series is called Game of Thrones cause it does become a game from that point on.. you will now see characters doing politics, going on wars, and you aren’t sure who’s gonna lose or die. it’s also when you start to root for characters and get excited cause you start to see a plot forming and a purpose for each character. I admit the show in season one appears dense and can be baffling, but as you progress, puzzle pieces fit together and you get more captivated.
I actually have dropped so many series and GoT is really the only series im watching rn.. and that’s because it is soo good and it actually never feels draggy at points. And the fact you know it’s gonna end, you know that you’re in for a big storybook ride where there is a definite direction cause everything is connected. There aren’t any continuity errors in this show and if there were, they were probably menial that not everyone would have noticed.
> Beautiful cinematography, amazing soundtrack, and lots of plot twists
- how the creators and the staff and writers manage to bring this magical world to the tv screen is incredible.. watching game of thrones is really like being transported into a world and seeing it from a spectator’s view. it truly feels like an experience. and honestly, Game of Thrones opening is probably the best opening.. and i never skip it since it also shows the places which will be highlighted for an episode :)
and yeah you really cant predict what goes on in this show.. you could predict some but often times, you will never see it coming and it will BLOW YOUR MIND
> Besides archetypes in the show being destroyed after being presented, some are rebuilt and undergo incredible development.
story-wise, Game of Thrones can be infuriating, as tragedies keep happening left and right. Beloved characters experience awful hardships that they don’t deserve. There does not seem to be any hope in the middle of despair. And just when you thought that was over, you’re wrong, because there’s often a big storm coming. the plot is unpredictable and thrilling. Moreover, there are redemption arcs, which are to die for—pun intended. These arcs are so satisfying, and they are what get you raising your fist and cheering for the characters.
> Certain details become important in the show as they serve as allusions
for example, hairstyle is used as a plot hint of what a character can undergo development-wise. for example, Sansa at one season mimics Margaery’s hair.. and she starts acting like her and Sansa also mimics Cersei’s hair and acts like her. and there are also many parallels that actually connect like event from season 2 will mimic what happened in season 7. like THERE ARE SOOO MANY events that connect to each other which you thought arent so significant but they turn out to be and you’ll get mindblown
Now i’m gonna tackle the content and what it’s notorious or famous for and disuss these points:
- when we tackle the social justice discourse on game of thrones.. there is so much to be said and yes, it actually gets really messy. It’s an extremely ruthless world where serious inequality between men and women is evident. Not only that, but LGBTQ+ characters experience severe oppression. It is definitely not a feminist show but there are strong female characters which embody the idea of feminism and this becomes evident as the season progresses.. you get to see strong women who were once treated like shit rise through the adversaries. Yes, i will acknowledge that this show has crossed the moral boundary countless times.. but that is the thing about Game of Thrones.. everyone suffers and no one is safe. To sum it up, It’s a hyperbolic interpretation of modern-day society where injustice is put at the centre and you are just rooting for your fave characters to survive in this world.
- yes, you can call the show Game of Butts because statistically, there is most likely to be nudity in an episode. if you watch the series for the first time, you will ask yourself how such a show gets broadcasted on television. Interestingly, crucial information related to characters and plot is revealed against this sexually charged backdrop. “Sexposition” is a visual media technique coined in 2011 to encapsulate meaningful provocative scenes rather than gratuitous titillation. So these sex scenes are, in fact, often relevant to the story. Also, many of the female characters are badasses, and don’t only exist to titillate the audience. also… on season 7, there isnt actually a lot of nudity :O
- Game of Thrones is notorious for its graphic violence and gore. I’m not exaggerating when I say that it can be extremely disturbing. the show knows no bounds, and is no stranger to controversy and media uproar. Violence is terrible, but knowing that a TV show goes that far adds a factor of sensationalism and will most likely get you curious.. like i dont like watching really violent shows like horror gory movies.. but Game of Thrones has such an intriguing story that will make you look past all of the extreme graphic content
my biggest advice to you when you start watching: Don’t get too attached to any characters. They will probably die. But even I couldn’t help but get attached, and ended up crying when the inevitable arrived. and when it kills characters.. it is pretty purposeful. it is a shame they died but they help move the story forward
TL;DR:
Game of Thrones is the best series in Western TV right now for all main reasons emboldened. It is an epic masterpiece, and it just makes you so glad to be watching.. so seriously, dont knock it til you try it. I’ve suggested this show to people who were on the bandwagon hate or slept on it, but after they got past season 1, they’re now hooked!
