Watching The Amazing Spidernan movies so that I’m all caught up before No Way Home. Will add my thoughts as I have them. Note I am not some big Spider-Man fan nor have I read the comics so if my thoughts sound kinda stupid they probably are.
First movie:
That’s a good trick with the broom. Making a mental note as we speak.
Actually seeing Peter say goodbye to his parents is horrible and I would like to never experience it again
SALLY FIELD IS AUNT MAY?! Why does this one have the good cast? (not good as in better but good as in more well known)
The sexual tension in “good morning flash…good morning Peter” (this is a joke I’m not shipping him with his bully)
Jesus roid rage much?
Shut your blinds! I don’t know who would be looking in your window at this exact moment but close them anyway!
First careful, you never know who is watching what you search (when did I become this person)
Second…curt connors is ableist.
Poor Rodrigo Guevara
Oh internalised ableism. And that is the only comment I will make going forward because my disabilities do not include limb difference and I dont want to overstep.
Stop following the man, you are not subtle…wait wtf how’d he do that?!
This is where he gets his powers right?
Okay but when would 5 men make that much of a fuss over a woman that only 1 of them seems to know?
Same. (This is in reference to smashing the alarm clock)
Oh my god is it really necessary to show all the different kinds of spider bites.
Actually just going back to the internalised ableism thing…he is allowed to feel whatever type of way about his own disability that is his right. But insinuating that all disabled people are weak and wanting to breed out the weakness is eugenics and just kinda gross. THIS is the final comment I will make on the matter.
No but seriously he is way more aggressive than regular teen boy aggressive so either he’s on something or he’s overcompensating for something
The way he looks at him doe (again all jokes am not shipping flash and Peter)
Why is this so awkward? And not like teens navigating a crush awkward just genuinely awkward. I feel no chemistry between them.
I like the song, it’s an interesting choice for this scene but I like it.
Stop does uncle Ben die now? Like I know uncle Ben dies at some point but I was really kinda hoping he just wouldn’t in this iteration. I was going for a ninth doctor moment “just this once everybody lives”
MOTHERFUCKER
God Sally is incredible
Don’t show me moments of Flash being human I might accidentally start shipping them for real and that simply can’t happen.
Oooh he’s a fashion designer
I just really enjoy how he takes the piss out of his victims? Arrests?
Is Gwen aware that the school nurse can’t cure everything? Both legally and just like generally doesn’t have the knowledge to cure everything. She suggests going to the nurse a lot.
This family gives me bad vibes
This is a long movie…it’s not even half way through
Well that’s one way to tell her
NOT GEORGE FOYET!
I think with what I remember of SpiderTobey and what I know of SpiderTom, Andrews Spider-Man is definitely better with the people he’s rescuing. Smoother, good bedside manner.
His sons name is Jack. Why does that make me angry?
So he’s just not gonna rescue the other people hanging off the bridge?
It’s almost poetic that the son of the man tried to stop him the first time will be the one to stop him now
Now how is he getting enough power in the sewer
No means no Peter
Does she die in this one or the next one? I don’t imagine her dying will help captain stacey see him as a good guy
Stan 🥺
This movie is exhausting and I don’t know if I mean that in a good way or a bad way.
MoThEr HuBbArD aRe YoU sErIoUs
He managed to get three whole words out and you didn’t think to ease up on the trigger a little to hear what those words might be?
She’s very clever and I will be sad to see her go
That wasn’t her scream. Or it was but from a different take.
Foyet about to be coming in clutch
I’m going to cry.
He’s so ugly. Some lizards are really cute but lizard + human, kinda gross looking.
Well shit. I didn’t know that happened. I guess what I said about him being upset with Peter about Gwen is irrelevant. Unless it isn’t, like if you believe in the afterlife, imagine how pissed he’s gonna be when Gwen arrives.
He finally got the eggs 🥺
As someone who’s boyfriend at the time didn’t go to her fathers funeral I feel ya Gwen. I mean I don’t care now but at the time it sucked.
Dr Connors was just in a silly goofy mood. He seems to show genuine care for the boy (this is mostly sarcasm).
Second movie
Oh we’re going back to peters dad.
How do they have access to a private jet?
Miss Honey is badass
Ngl I’m actually quite relieved they both died before the plane crashed. Stil devastating though.
Okay so this is first up on the list of potential mystery villains in No Way Home…he looks like a tool.
HeLLo PeDeStRiAnS
He really just let Spider-Man put his hand on his tongue. Sir do you know where his hand has been? Not to mention just in general the feeling of spandex on your tongue. I feel ill.
No respect for the proper care of plutonium.
Please don’t ever say “come to daddy” again 😂
I’m kinda sad Jamie Fox becomes a villain, his character seems kinda sweet so far from the 2 seconds I’ve seen of him
You mean to tell me he missed his girlfriend’s fathers funeral AND her valedictorian speech?!
Stan x2 🥺
Because you can’t lose me you’re going to lose me? 😂
I love her jacket
Why are they still pretending like she doesn’t know?
I may have spoken to soon about Max
See I would be speeding up daddy’s death if he told me he’d passed down a genetic disease and just decided not to tell me.
Friendship.
Okay max is still a little bit nutty but you gotta feel bad for the guy. He must’ve been so scared.
Don’t smile that’s not cute, if he was a regular boy you’d file a restraining order.
Oh I see Spider-Man is gonna fight him which will make him turn and become the “bad guy” whether he will actually be a bad guy is still unknown.
This scene is actually kinda just making me angry (the time square scene)
Cops suck man. Peter was talking him down just fine.
Did nobody teach these people not to touch metal when there’s electricity about.
Interesting that I didn’t pick up any chemistry from them in the first movie weren’t they an actual couple for a while?
Another good song with an interesting placement
I’m sorry did the caller ID not say Mary Parker? How was it Harry on the phone?
Run Gwen!
This version of Harry is kinda creepy I’m sure the actor is swell but the character is terrifying. Original version Harry was swell whereas the actor is…
“Maybe everyone has a part of themselves they hide” gives him the eye
This movies shorter or at least it feels shorter
An excellent show of what happens when you tell a rich daddy’s boy no for the first time.
This makes me very sad. She’s so excited for the possibility of Oxford.
As much as Harry disturbs me, I want him to burn his entire team.
His daddy really did love him!
I think it’s mostly his eyes, his behaviour can be explained by trauma (why I find Harry creepy)
Okay most of his behaviour. The taking joy in killing people that’s just him being nutty and not a trauma response.
This is fucked up. And where is Peter? he is off chasing a girl who has broken up with him twice now.
PLANES NEED THE POWER!
I really like SpiderAndrew, the movies are fine but as a character I thoroughly enjoy him
Sorcerers apprentice who?
Captain Stacy can’t blame him! She’s clearly stubborn as hell and her own free woman
I quite literally stopped breathing (in reference to the almost plane crash)
Is this why they made it Gwen and not MJ so that he could kill her and be an actual bad guy? From my little knowledge of the comics and what I’ve seen from the movies Harry would never hurt MJ so it had to be someone else important to Peter but not super important to him for him to a real bad guy
I like that Harry actually looks like a goblin.
What was the disease he’s supposed to have?
This poor family. I know I said they gave me bad vibes in the first movie but nobody deserves this.
He looks less like a tool with his suit on…but only slightly less
Baby you better get back behind that baracade!
Nobody talk to me I’m very emotional. This child looks very much like a magical mix of all 3 of my brothers put together and seeing him stand there so brave but so scared is doing something to me.
Final thoughts:
So I think SpiderAndrew might be a close second favourite for me. I like the relationships of the original the most, the comedy of the mcu version the most but this one was like a nice in between. Im a little disappointed there won’t be a third not cos I think I would have enjoyed it just cos the original had 3 movies, the mcu version will have at least 3 movies and this one is left out with 2. Don’t think I would have loved Shailene Woodley as MJ though so I dunno. I think the only thing I would have wanted from a third movie is to know who fedora guy is…and for Peter and May to acknowledge that they both know that he is Spider-Man. Apart from that it was fine and I now feel fully prepared for No Way Home.

Do you think Nicky has ever turned to Joe, after a bad mission, after a rough year, after a horrible day where his deep beliefs just seem meaningless, voice shaking with self doubt asking him “Am I doing good enough? Have I done enough good? Are you even proud of me?”
OOOH thinking emoji... ok this is just my personal opinion but...
(this is very long so i put it under the cut)
I think nicky is the type to keep that to himself but joe instinctively knows anyway. joe is the kind of person who sense it but like trying to distract him from his thoughts but like... without really talking about it, like by cracking a joke that will make him smile.
but in an extremely bad day, nicky WANTS to talk about it because like sometimes you just have to get it out of your system. and if joe dared to evade the conversation TM nicky would be like D< so of course joe will listen and affirm him that the only person he needs to be good enough is himself, ‘are you feeling good about yourself? no? well you definitely are for me’ bc if else the 900 years of relationship wouldnt work right? I am personally in the opinion that they argued a lot back in the day and this has scared andy. also like that’s why joe can say that van speech because like their relationship has been through a lot and yet here they are.
and when joe can sense nicky’s feeling better, joe’s like back to cracking a joke. he doesn’t like to take things too seriously and especially he doesn’t like seeing nicky deep in a BAD thought. Eg:
joe: just remember what your therapist said
nicky: and who’s my therapist?
joe: me
nicky, rolling his eyes: oh? really? what did he say?
joe, serious: that you owe him a kiss bc all that time, you could have smothered him and told him how great and handsome he was...
nicky, defeated: *chuckles*
(they kiss)
joe: are you feeling better?
nicky, look into joe’s eyes: i am, thanks to you
(joe is lost in nickys jade green eyes)
joe: let me be your motivation
nicky: what?
joe: normani’s motivation
*starts humming in a low, barely audible, tone* I’ma break you off, let me be your motivation
To stay and give it tonight
And, baby, turn around, let me give you innovation, hey 'Cause I do it so right
nicky, half smiling: you sneaked into nile’s spotify again?
joe: she has a good taste in music
(both getting lost in each others eyes)
(silence)
joe: so.. um...
joe: you think you’ll let me give you innovation?
nicky:  ( ͠° ͟ʖ ͡°)
joe: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
nicky: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
——
this has became a mini fic since I listened to the song all day and i want to let you guys know lol
that said, that reminds me, i’m thinking of crusader!nicky feeling immense guilt and becomes really freaky about it like whipping himself is a good food, joe’s just passing by and like THE FUCK? then comes the angst… then, nicky asking joe to whip him but like in an actual punishable way bc the wounds keep healing and hes not sure bc hes gone soft at himself and joes just like wtf what a fucking weirdo and ran away horrified before coming back and having the talk bc he genuinely worried about him (no, hes not gonna do it haha unless), having tried to off each other, they had a special bond anyway, joe just sees him as this pesky kafir who is hard to get rid off bc they keep bumping at each other so it’s just like taking a feral kitten home but then nicky will be pouring everything that he has buried deep inside him and that will make joe feel some type of way and move forward, for nicky to be unable to see the good things hes done bc of his immense guilt and the feeling of being betrayed by his faith yet he wants to remain faithful so he like overcompensates and joe just looks at him and having this urge to drop nicky on a bathtub full of warm water, massage his head, neck and shoulders, and tell him to fucking relax.
when his concern is completely justified, joe will be cupping nicky’s face look at him straight in the eye, and tell him sometimes the world is unfair, you know that, our existence is a hard proof. all we can do is keep pushing through it and do what WE think is good. also I like to picture them still believing in god so yeh all the god talk. as for “are you even proud of me?” I think joe thinks it shouldn’t even be question but nicky’s like asking that for affimation and joe will give that. then they snuggle with nicky’s nose at the crook of joe’s neck.
this has strayed too far but TL; DR: SOMETIMES

Headcanon Time! - Vyn’s Parents! - Part 1 (Jasmyn)
Tumblr media
Jasmyn is the daughter of Eryn and Elena Syfyn.
While her parents went to Hexside as teens and met there, Eryn and Elena moved to allow Jasmyn to attend Glandus, thinking it might help challenge her.
Jasmyn rose to the occasion and despite being in the potions track, managed to impress peers with her wit and natural strengths and by cooking. She was one of the popular mean girl types, loving herself and the attention she got.
Jasmyn’s palisman is a peacock named Lapis, she made him herself.
Her mother got sick and passed away during her second year of school and it hurt Jasmyn deeply. Rather than accept help from her father. She didn’t want to seem weak since she feared she’d lose her status at Glandus.
Jasmyn hid her pain and anger by becoming more vain and obnoxious. Obsessing over her looks and finding any way to get attention or hurting other’s feelings to make herself feel better.
The only person to see through this was Orion, the scrawny kid from the Construction Track. (More on him later)
He was the only person she felt she could be real with. They became a couple and anyone having a problem with it, she’ll ruin their personal life. They graduated, joined their covens, and got married, settling in a town where Orion set up shop as a carpenter.
After their wedding, Eryn moved back to Bonesborough but kept in contact with his daughter, he just missed his old home and the memories it brought of Elena, he was still hurting but working through his mourning. He opened his food stall and worked hard, his cooking made him feel closer to his late wife.
Jasmyn was still vain to anyone outside of Orion, living a comfortable life and bragging about her husband’s success. When she became pregnant, she only bragged more about her perfect happy family.
After Jasmyn was cursed by a wild witch for her baby to be forever silent (I’ll do a headcanon on that another time) she dismissed it. Until Vyn was born and didn’t, well couldn’t, cry.
Jasmyn felt horrible, knowing it was her fault, that Vyn was stuck like this. She resorted to the mindset she had when her mother died. She took it personal and hid in her vain and obnoxious ways, pretending to be the perfect parent who suffers so badly to see their child silent, only to unknowingly push Vyn further away from her.
She pushed her father away as well, in her hurt breaking contact with him because he tried to tell her how she was hurting Vyn and offer advice. She told him he didn’t know anything and stopped communicating with him, making him believe she was past helping and blaming himself for how she turned out.
Jasmyn tried for years to find the witch and find a way to undo the curse, wishing she could take the curse from Vyn and suffer instead, but Vyn never saw this side of her. Vyn saw the overcompensating, and smothering side of their mother.
Vyn learned sign language and Jasmyn struggled and grew annoyed that she couldn’t figure it out, forcing Vyn to use a caption spell to communicate with her.
Vyn’s mental health was struggling dealing with their mother’s smothering, controlling nature and feeling like their mother only cared about herself and Orion sent them to live with Eryn when they were 6, Jasmyn played it off like she couldn’t bare to see Vyn silent and struggling to communicate but knew that Vyn would be better off away from her.
As Vyn figured themself out, changing their deadname and pronouns, their mother accepted it though struggles remembering their name which just annoys them further.
Jasmyn only sees Vyn during holidays and their birthday but wants to see them more and wants to be better. Eryn doesn’t even know if his daughter truly cares about Vyn but he’ll start to notice an effort and eventually she’s going to break down. (Likely when her actions force Vyn to run away from home just to get away from her)
Vyn doesn’t see their mother as a good mother or even a mother trying. They see her as a bother and hazard to their mental health. Anytime she comes around Vyn is more prone to panic attacks.
Bonus Hc: Jasmyn finds out that Veggi is an adopted palisman and is upset that her child didn’t get something special like they deserve, but Vyn will use their magic to silence their mom for once (mini-hc that advanced Bard magic has a spell that functions like a mute button but can only be used on one person at a time) because her words were hurting Veggi’s feelings. Then they’ll storm off.

Anne’s letter to Gilbert - #3
[for an index to the first two shirbert letters and awae shorts, click here!]
Dearest Gilbert,
Thank you for the chamomile tea. It could not have come at a more perfect time.
Half the girls have caught colds and I am afraid I will be next to fall victim to their sickness, seeing as Diana has contracted it. Nevertheless, I swore to love her as long as the sun and moon shall endure. When I was an orphan staying at the Hammond’s–who had three sets of twins! three!– I nursed them all back to good health when they had croup. A cold is nothing compared to what the Hammond children went through that bitter February, so I’m positively certain we shall all be well in no time.
I believe taking care of someone because of and despite their illness is one of the most beautiful and valiant things a person can do in their lifetime. I suppose that is what began to soften my heart to you that day I came by to drop off your books whilst your father was ill. From the short time I talked to him, I felt that he was kindred. May I ask, do you miss your father terribly?
Marilla and Matthew do their best to hide their aging and all that entails from me, but I know better. They are not getting any younger and I dread the day that will inevitably come when I will not see Matthew feeding the goats or Marilla making her famous plum puffs. When my imagination conjures up the image of an empty Green Gables, I must stop myself then and there lest I plunge into the deepest depths of despair and never escape the nightmare. I’ve never told this to anyone, not even Diana. How my greatest fear is not being able to pursue my passions, which are too numerous to count if I tried, but of losing my dear Matthew and lovely Marilla. I was afraid that no one would understand, but I think you do.
I haven’t made my mind up yet which is worse, for a person to never know love or for them to have known it and lost it. But when I am at risk of letting these pesky thoughts run my heart to the ground, I think on the happy things. Matthew polishing his most unusual radish and Marilla and I buying material for my dress. I think of the day you and I marched to the town hall and protested for the right for freedom of speech alongside our classmates. I think of you, Gilbert Blythe, and how you love me despite my many faults and flaws. I’m still pinching myself.
Bash was most elated to see me when I visited, and Delly has much grown since the last I saw her that you’ll have trouble deciding whether to laugh or cry the day you return. Although she is still a baby, I see dear Mary more and more in her. She possesses an unusual resolute wisdom and I patiently await the day when I can converse with her and unlock all that lies in her imagination and mind. And Elijah– oh, he adores his baby sister. He takes her for morning strolls around the farm so that Bash can sleep in after long days of working. Miss Hazel, Elijah, Delly and I walked all the way to where the stream meets the Lake of Shining Waters and found Miss Stacey fishing with some of her students and Rachel Lynde, of all people! Miss Stacey sends her warmest regards and a reminder to keep the promise you made to her.
Jerry certainly made a point to tease me about you. I asked him about the post script he wrote to you, but he infuriatingly would not reveal its contents, saying that I must learn to accept that I cannot always get what I want and I should thank him for teaching me this lesson. The nerve! I didn’t thank him, of course, but I will keep his words in mind and practice them by refraining from asking you to divulge the information I desire. To answer your question, Jerry had made it a habit to spell my name without an E and one day I was made to believe he did it for the purpose of annoying me, rather than simply being ignorant to the proper spelling–which I may have been able to tolerate–so I might have snapped at him. Okay, I did snap at him but he only found it hilarious. Now he overcompensates with a capital E.
As for your request to visit me at Queen’s and escort me to Avonlea, you have my enthusiastic approval. Please be advised that Mrs Blackmore has strict visiting hours for suitors, who may only visit between the hours of 2:00-4:00pm on Saturdays, in the parlor. (But I wouldn’t be too worried because Mrs Blackmore has already taken a liking to you, and I suspect it’s because chamomile tea is her favorite.) The girls and I have become much acquainted with the parlor, for many students at Queen’s have developed a taste for the Avonlea scholars. Mrs Blackmore, it turns out, has quite a number of redeeming qualities under her intimidating exterior. She has a no-visiting policy for suitors during exam season and when there is sickness in the house. One of the benefits of having half of my housemates ill near exam season, is that we finally have a respite from the boys who’ve made it a habit to visit.
I do feel sorry for Moody and Ruby, who I never knew until recent how devoted they are to each other. Ruby, one of the fortunate spared from sickness, was caught trying to sneak out of the house after hours. We all presume it was to meet Moody under a nearby willow tree, but Mrs Blackmore has no solid evidence and therefore no collateral to prohibit him from visiting again once we’ve all recovered from our colds. I think Mrs Blackmore does not really want to expel Moody Spurgeon from the house, because when he visits he usually plays us a few songs on his banjo and Mistress Mang–our term of endearment for her–dearly loves music.
How are you and Benjamin Frederick Wright getting along? I am intrigued to meet him. Dr Emily Oak, as well, for as you said, she is a kindred spirit. I figure she must be if she’s worked her way, beating all, to become a doctor working at an acclaimed university.
I joined the Poetry Reading Club and the Writing Club and found many kindred people there. Yesterday I was asked by one of my professors to consider joining Theatre and another to think on applying to be one of the editors for the Queen’s Verdict, the college’s newsletter. I’m still thinking on it, seeing as I’m already in two extra-curriculars. And, as you very well know, the last time I was involved with a school newspaper, there were many negative consequences. I don’t think I could bear to disgrace myself in Charlottetown.
I hope you aren’t holing yourself in your books and studies for too long, Gil. It’s important to take time to be at leisure and refresh your soul. Promise me that you’ll take a walk, talk to your classmates, and try something new. Maybe explore the city with your dear roommate. I heard they have a camera at U of T, so if you ever get the chance, have a photograph of yourself taken! In regards to your all-inclusive apology, it is wholeheartedly accepted. The slate has been wiped clean.
As I write this letter, I am sitting under one of my favourite trees in all of Charlottetown. I will introduce you to her when you visit me. Oh, how I wish tomorrow would come sooner than later because then I would be one day closer to seeing you again. But I must admit, I do appreciate our correspondence via letter, as it helps me filter my words and choose them carefully. I’m afraid of how I might act and what I might say when we are reunited, given my horrible habit of callously spewing out the words I think in the moment I conceive them. I miss you terribly and I do not trust myself to act proper when I see you in person. But Mrs Blackmore is determined to make a lady out of me yet, so only time may tell.
Take care of yourself, Gilbert. I love you. Come home someday.
Anne
P.S. word of the day: Retrouvailles - the joy of reuniting with someone after a long separation. (A bosom friend who is studying French is just as handy as any foreign vocabulary dictionary)
P.P.S. Oh, darling Gil, do you not know? In order for a duel to be classified as such, there needs to be a prize. I propose the loser gives the winner a kiss. And as Rachel Lynde says, pride comes before the fall—so pucker up, Slateface. I hereby engage in this long-distance duel.
———————————————————————
lolol I know I said I wouldn’t be posting during exams, but writing this was like a mini-break from studying so I hope you enjoy! I’d love to know what your favorite part of the letter is!

⌠ ellie bamber, 20, cis female, she/her ⌡ welcome back to gallagher academy, GIORGIA WILDE! according to their records, they’re a FIRST year, specializing in UNDECIDED; and they DID NOT go to a spy prep high school. when i see them walking around in the halls, i usually see a flash of (first edition books, walking in the rain, candy-scented lip gloss, getting lost in a museum, millions of twinkling city lights). when it’s the (sagittarius)’s birthday on 12/13/1999, they always request their CHERRY PIE from the school’s chefs. looks like they’re well on their way to graduation.
Tumblr media
she can’t do shit with knives yet but it’s a great gif, don’t @ me) but DO like this if you want me to hit you up for plots
@gallagherintro
tw: implied neglect, brief mentions of mental illness and addiction
ok! so giorgia was born and raised in new york city. both of her parents came from extremely wealthy families. her mother was a french socialite and her father was the golden boy of a hearst-like (founders/owners of a distinguished publishing conglomerate) family from connecticut. some of his family members claimed to be descendants of one of oscar wilde’s cousins (a rumor that has yet to be confirmed) and he believed he had it in him to become a literary great himself. he seemingly succeeded, having published multiple best sellers popular with young pseudo-intellectuals.
giorgia was never sure if her mother had wanted a daughter or a life-size doll. from a very young age she was primed to fit into high society and paraded around her parent’s lavish parties. most of her time was spent with nannies and violin tutors, studying her father’s poetic heroes, and dancing ballet. she was taught how to socialize with society’s elite, but she never felt comfortable doing so. she felt safer hiding behind her mother or sitting beneath the stairs with her nose in a book.
while her mother wanted her child to be pretty and proper, her father wanted someone to continue his family’s legacy. she learned to read when she was four, and by the time she was five, gio was forced to write in a diary every. single. day. (over the last fifteen years she’s filled up dozens of notebooks that live on a bookshelf in her childhood bedroom). she didn’t particularly like her father and she didn’t want to want what he wanted for her. (did that sentence make sense? i hope so). but she did like to write and she was damn good at it. her poetry was published in online journals and lit mags, her short stories won young artist awards. on the outside, she was everything her parents wanted.
but like i said before, gio struggled with the social part or being a socialite, and the life of an heiress was never something she wanted. she didn’t seem to have the right attitude - she was demure and diffident, a textbook wallflower. she was never happier than when she was reading a book or roaming a museum, always curious about the world around her. she never misbehaved or did anything wrong, but her parents wanted her to behave differently.
their tribeca penthouse always had a certain cold air to it and the high ceilings only seemed to add to the lonely feeling that gio couldn’t escape. her relationship with her parents seemed to become more strained with each passing day. the more she learned about them the more gio realized she didn’t know them at all - the spa retreats her mother went on were really trips to psychiatric facilities and rehabs, and the endless slew of young women her father employed as assistants were all lazily hidden affairs. they never talked about it, if she tried to she was shut down or ignored entirely.
gio grew up wanting to go to nyu. she didn’t know where the dream came from (her parents wanted her to go to vassar or dartmouth) but she loved her home city and something about nyu had always called to her. she was accepted early admission to the gallatin school where she planned to major in an individualized study of creative and dramatic writing.
she loved her freshman year of college. she was finally out of her parents’ home and into a postage stamp of an apartment with an eccentric girl studying theater. she was around people from all over the world and all walks of life instead of the tiny bubble of rich snobs and private schools. she was around people she actually had things in common with. she was still shy and she still found it extremely difficult to talk to people. the easiest way for her to interact with people was to overcompensate for her shyness and be excessively friendly. when she was actually able to talk, she found she had many things to say, and once she started talking it was hard for her to stop.
her roommate was a big fan of movie marathons (in october they watched all of the scream movies, and then all of the saw movies, and then all of the children of the corn movies. that’s twenty horror movies. gio still has nightmares from them). for a few weeks in the fall she had a spy movie marathon. mission: impossible and jason bourne movies, mostly. something about them piqued gio’s interest, and she started reading spy novels, which quickly turned into her writing one of her own. she wanted the protagonist to be a woman for once, and one who’s main personality trait wasn’t tits. her novel, at dawn beneath the bridge of sighs, followed a cia operative and an italia aisi agent who are forced to work together to find the kidnapped daughter of an american diplomat along with the priceless jewelry she was wearing at the time of her capture. (do i know what the fuck im talking about? no!!)
gio comes from a family of publishers so it was fairly easy for her to find someone who wanted to publish it, but the nepotism ended there, the success was all her own. it was lauded as an impressive debut novel and critics praised her subversion of genre tropes and inventive action sequences. but it stuck out to a select few for a different reason - the heroine used tactics uncannily similar to those used by actual spies, and she used them well. some people were curious as to how the character would handle other situations in the spy world, or really how the author would plan it.
so yeah she got a letter from gallagher, and she thought it was a joke at first. she eventually figured out it was very real (how? idk!) and her curiosity got the better of her. she decided it would be good for research, and that she could go back to nyu if she wanted to. once she arrived at gallagher, giorgia... did not know what to do. she had never been so out of her element, and she felt like she was terrible at everything. but that wasn’t really true, all the things you could study for were things she was actually learning. she became determined to actually do well, and as her first year comes to an end, gio still feels extremely unsure of herself, and unsure of where she wants to focus her studies, but she’s starting to feel like gallagher is the right place for her to be.
personality: she’s very sweet, very earnest, sometimes has a tendency to retreat into herself and get quiet, but she still combats her shyness with an outgoing attitude she learned from her mother that takes her far out of her comfort zone. basically as outgoing as an introvert can be. she tries to see the best in everyone and every situation. emphasis on tries, because she’s a total worrier and is often pulled between the desire to find a silver lining and the fear that something horrible will happen. she will give people more chances than they deserve and let them walk all over her. her self esteem can be pretty low, but one thing she is confident about is her writing (although she won’t tell you because she doesn’t want to seem boastful). art and literature in all forms are her favorite things and she could talk about it forever. she’s the kind of person who tries to learn everyone’s names and once she knows it she’ll say hi to you every time she sees you.
other stuff: she’s fluent in french and english and grew up speaking them equally. (she also knows some spanish, italian, german, and russian from her nannies, but she’s not fluent). she has a deep love for photography, usually bringing a camera with her at all times. she can play classic violin and piano, but hasn’t in a while and is probably rusty, she continued to dance until she came to gallagher and no longer had time to practice. she has a cat named pierre (named after pierre-auguste renoir). she's a vegetarian. she’s basically addicted to fruit. she listens to a lot of sad pop music. her favorite colors are blush pink and forest green. she watches a lot jean-luc godard and wes anderson movies. she’s kind of a sad girl/art ho. she gets crushes on people easily and all the time. she is very impressionable, and seems to experience heartbreak often. she just wants someone to lover her for her, you know?
wanted connections: (im super fucking tired so im just gonna write some really basic shit but hopefully i’ll edit it tomorrow).
a best friend: it’s not easy for her to make friends but i want gio to have one person she can truly be herself around. a platonic soulmate, if you will.
friends: really just anyone who is understanding of how she’s not always comfortable talking but will also listen if she starts ranting about queer representation in 20th century poetry and plays, ya feel?
big brother/big sister: because she hated being an only child and she really needs someone looking out for her
bad influence: its not hard to be a bad influence on her but someones gotta do it!
good influence: someone who lets her baby ways rub off on them
idk what to call this but a sort of mutual respect with someone she’s had a class with?
idk what to call this either but someone she really clashes with, they just don’t understand each other
people she knew in nyc: she was there for the first 19 years of her life so if your character was there in early 2019 or any time before that, they could’ve run into each other
someone from a similar background who she can just be like... felt with?
hookups/flings: she loves love but love does not love her
an ex: could be good or bad terms idk
crushes, mutual or unrequited
give me literally anything, the more angst the better!!

Time for The Witcher episode 4!!
So the last episode was Intense(TM) and also I finally realized that the show isn’t happening all at the same time but it’s following multiple timelines, which, better late than never. Now things make more sense...
Alright, bando alle ciance and let’s do this.
“Ciri! Ciri” Cirilla: yes? “Not you, I was talking to Siri. What’s the weather going to be tomorrow”
That’s such a stupid joke. Unfollow me right now, it’s okay.
Glowy Forest Intensifies... oh, there’s people now. Forest Dora Milaje aren’t happy to see her, which is understandable, I guess. But the boss arrives.
Meanwhile, except not meanwhile, a man has had a very bad day. Apparently the nickname White Wolf has stuck. Remember when we thought the MCU was going to make Bucky into a Black Panther character as the White Wolf, official media outlet even used the White Wolf as a title for Bucky, and then it ended up in nothing? Sorry for the digression but I really hoped we’d get Bucky written by Ryan Coogler and I was really disappointed when that didn’t happen but *waves around* all of that happened instead. I mean, technically it’s not too late to make it happen but Bucky is a Disney+ creature now, so, bye.
Hello Jaskier! My boy! I missed you.
Ah, the new media image campaign is working.
“You never get involved, except you actually do, all of the time” I love this XD “I don’t do emotions or attachments” character who does emotions intensely all the time and gets attached to everyone they meet paired with “sure Jan” character who calls them out is a very good dynamic.
Ah, yes, this is perfect. I’m sorry but dark brooding protagonist and bubbly comic relief sidekick is my secret weakness.
No offense, Geralt, but those clothes did need a good washing after your latest job, so don’t make that face.
Blah blah royal affairs I should probably pay attention to.
“I am not going to protect you” [*Spongebob font* five minutes later...]
But yeah, the princess is Cirilla’s mother, I suppose, and I’m sure the marriage that produces Scream Princess is super important. She is very pretty and has lovely hair. Sometimes I wish I had long hair I could braid artistically.
The princess doesn’t want to get married to some strange dude, but the queen is A Very Strong Woman(TM) and has no time for silly things like her daughter’s feelings over the most life-changing decision in her life. She’s an interesting character for sure, and the narrative doesn’t try to frame her as either definitely good or bad, which is interesting.
Oh! Rat Boy isn’t dead! That’s great. That makes sense narratively, native forest women who suffered genocide from colonizers wouldn’t kill an elf boy who went through the same thing.
Promised husband is a shitty dude. Queen Calanthe likes Geralt, which, relatable. But she and her entourage are racist assholes, and the next scene with Cirilla and Dara tell us that their anti-elf talk isn’t just talk.
By the way, now we know for sure how much time there is between Geralt’s timeline and Cirilla’s.
The queen doesn’t like feminine dresses. Lady is trying to overcompensate a lot. But her banter with Geralt is entertaining.
The first suitor is from Nilfgaard, and in hindsight it would have been a wise choice to unify the two kingdoms... C’mon, poor guy is just awkward, he doesn’t deserve the humiliation. Or is he the guy who’ll make war later? The pilot threw too much new information at me the other day.
Yennefer is bored... and apparently 30 years has passed since the last we saw of her. (I refuse to try to understand when in relation to the other plots that puts this scene. Things will click together at some point or I’ll just accept whatever happens and nod along.) And coincidentally she is paired with a woman who laments being only considered important as a baby-producing womb. Oops. Awkward.
Not relevant to the show but my parents never get inside my room as often as while I am watching something on Netflix.
Yennefer thinks life as a court mage sucks, queen Kalis thinks life as a baby-maker sucks. They envy each other for what the other has, but they’re probably both right.
Well, boredom is no longer a problem.
Oh, poor queen, her husband paid to have her killed because she’s only given him daughters. Two episodes in a row about female heirs to kings, plus queen Calanthe being female and having a daughter who’ll have a daughter. Theeemes!
You can’t be rude to the only person who is your only hope not to die horribly, girl.
Queen Calanthe is frustrated she isn’t a man, which we could guess. She also likes the simplicity of killing, which we could also guess.
Oh! It’s almost pre-decided husband’s time to claim the girl’s hand in marriage, but New Guy appears! He’s been cursed and Mr I Don’t Pick Sides Ever No Matter What, guess what, picks a side. The audience is shocked. No one could foresee this unexpected turn of events.
Noooo the baby!!! Yennefer loses a rare chance to acquire a baby. This is sad. Damn this show doesn’t shy away from killing children, such a different feel from most stories we’re used to.
These people are weird with destiny. Calanthe says fuck destiny, Geralt says lol mood but just because you’re a queen doesn’t mean you’re above sacred rules.
OOOOH Calanthe says fuck sacred rules and it does not go well. Is this happening because she tried to mess up with the order of the world and chaos said hi? Was the princess always magical or did this happen because destiny will have its way no matter what?
Ah, her grandmother had it, she never manifested it before until now, when circumstances awoke it.
Queen Calanthe acknowledges destiny, and of course they’re all dressed in green like the mages of Feminist Hogwarts aka Chaos School. I should have paid more attention to colors but green seems to be the color of magic slash chaos slash destiny.
Then bam, red. Men. Violence.
Everyone in the forest is also dressed in green... Colors aren’t really my thing, you might have noticed that I rarely analyze colors in Supernatural and I’m not particularly into what which color means and I only notice things when they’re very obvious like the purple of transformation-slash-death, so, yeah, I am not the kind of person who notices colors until they slap me in the face. I guess this is my slap in the face by this show’s color palette XD
Also consider that I watch everything with f-lux on, so I don’t even see colors the way they actually look, I guess that’s why it’s harder for me to notice colors when everything looks orange.
Alriiiiight *disables f.lux for current app*
Oh. Oh. So this is how this show looks like.
Awkward. This is so embarrassing.
I should rewatch the whole thing with real colors now... well, another time.
Anyway, Dara has drunk antidepressant juice, but it doesn’t work on Ciri, because she is Relevant(TM) to destiny so she can’t forget her past otherwise the plot destiny can’t happen.
Sleep well baby.
Aaah husband’s curse is broken! Yay.
Geralt accidentally acquires a bond with a baby. One baby dead and Yennefer’s potential bond with her lost, one baby on her way and Geralt’s future bond with her created. So this is all about parallels based on babies and births. Cool.
In the future, destiny has arrived and indeed wrought calamity on the court and the city. Someone makes something gross with Calanthe’s dead body--a spell to learn the location of Cirilla. Trouble is coming.
Oh! It’s him, he’s not dead? And taking something from Calanthe (that will be relevant later)?
Ciri drinks stronger juice and goes to the ancestral plane, er, I mean has a vision of a Very Important Tree, sorry I had Black Panther stuck in my head from before.
Well this is very interesting and things are starting to click together and yeah it’s a weird ride but I’m enjoying it! I suppose only at the end of the season you get the full picture of why and when everything has happened so I’m just sitting here metaphorically eating popcorn waiting for things to make sense on their own rhythm. There’s a theme of motherhood and babies and it seems that Geralt’s destiny is to become a metaphorical mother for Cirilla? Or am I mixing him up with a similar kind of character with a tendency to become everyone’s mom? Anyway, I’m looking forward to see what happens.

“Like i don't trust sierra bc of the time she came into Luke's life...” that entire ask but vice-versa too!!! people have said sierra dated dylan from flor and now her old roommate karsen too? as with luke, where was her time being single and figuring herself out before jumping into a new relationship? the twitter likes reminded me of how luke & sierra only see “jealousy” and “misogyny” as a h8ters only reason, which isn’t true 😔
Part 2 It's like they're still letting the other person know they're wrong but the difference is that it doesn't hit them. Why does it cause an overly emotional response and a giant need to prove they are wrong? it's a truth the person has been avoiding/ignoring. Luke or any person don't see the truth, they really don't even though deep down they know it is true (this is why emotional abuse is so dangerous and the victim "can't just leave")
Part 3 and that's why getting defensive and simply defending yourself are two different things. I'd like to point what that anon said about Luke's likes missing the point of what was said and this anon called him a 'dumb asshole' (lol) because he's missing the point. Well he may not realise it but he's missing the point "on purpose" his brain is making him miss the point in order to keep the fantasy that the points that were made aren't factual and are actually offensive (sexism)
Part 4 I swear I could write a book explaining every little behaviour he's adopting but what I really want to point out is that I understand everyone's frustration and regardless of what he's going through, Luke should be held responsible for his actions but we can and should emphasize because he's not fine. I'm saying this because he is following a very worrying pattern and even though Arzaylea was a much worse person than Sierra is,
Part 5, Luke is currently in a worse situation MENTALLY and I know this may cause some confusion and I can explain with more details why I'm saying this but it doesn't necessarily have to do with Sierra. I'm not saying she's not toxic. I do believe she's toxic but she's not nearly as toxic as Arzaylea. The difference is the timing. If Luke had dated Sierra first and Arzaylea later things would be much much worse.
Part 6 Luke was in a very vulnerable place, he was really hurt and he got a taste of what a mentally stable, caring, loving partner is like in Sierra. And I'm not saying these are traits that Sierra has or not. But when you get out of a toxic relationship, when you're at your worst a little love, or sense of love can feel like the best thing in a world. Basically it's an "issue" with the rewarding system in your brain. Very typical in people who go through this kind of situations
Part 7 that's why it is recommended to see a therapist or stay away from relationship because this rewarding system can fix itself and go back to normal or you might need some help. It all depends on how you deal with the situation. Some people get over traumatic experiences quickly and some need time and help. Anyway to keep it simple and short: Luke knew for sure (based on my little knowledge and his behaviour) that Arzaylea wasn't good to him but he was in love and he was making excuses to
Part 8 believe she loved him back (maybe she did love him back but had mental issues, drug addiction, I don't know, I can't judge) but he didn't have the time to heal. He's aware of his past relationship being toxic but I don't think he's aware of the effects it had on his mental health. He shows severe signs of being someone who still carries some luggage. Let me explain, I'm sure he's aware of how awful Arzaylea was and that he did him wrong and he deserves better.
Part 9 but for example, if arzaylea told him constantly that he didn't defend her enough, if she guilt trapped him because of it, if she threatened to leave him or blamed him for her mental issues/breakdowns he's most likely still carrying it with him and that's one of the reasons why he's desperately trying to make it right with this one relationship. It's something that's internalised. So yes maybe Sierra doesn't do much wrong compared to Arzaylea and actually maybe Sierra is like
Part 10 'dang I hate this thing someone said' but that's enough for Luke's brain to make a click, bring back the memories, the trauma and go into overdrive. This is an example but can be used to explain why Luke's trying so hard with Sierra compared to Arzaylea. Another thing that makes this relationship "worse" imo is that Luke's perception of reality wasn't accurate when he started his relationship with Sierra because of Arzaylea and now that little bit of love he feels like he receives is
Part 11 just wow and to him it is what real love feels like this is why your sense of personal worth should never depend on somebody else. And now he strongly believe that despite everything that goes wrong in his relationship, that little 1 thing that's going well is more than enough. he's never had that much so his fighting to keep it because it is sad but it's the most loved he's ever felt and he doesn't see why he could deserve more or how it could get better because to him, thats everything
Wheew, this was a trip to put together. You really did write me a book here, anon. But I completely understand what you’re trying to say. I come from a really abusive family, and even now I have issues where I’ll ask my bf if he’s mad at me and he’s like “you didn’t do anything, why would I be mad at you??!” Becuase I’ve been trained to think I’ve done something wrong if someone’s behaviour changes. And while I agree with most everything you said, I don’t think Sierra is unaware of Luke vulnerability due to the Larzaylea fuck show. That being said, I’m not sure if Sierra dated anyone between Alex and Luke. I don’t believe the roommate story, and none of the other mods do either. There’s no evidence behind it. I don’t know who the other guy is so I can’t speak to that. But she did have a lot more time between her and Alex’s breakup and her and Luke’s relationship beginning. Keep in kind she was still touring with Alex after they broke up, and that could have stunted any healing, but I truly can’t say. Time doesn’t always heal everything. And again I can’t speak to that break up, but I think it says a lot that she went on to drag his name during an interview after. As we’ve seen recently with Selena Gomez, she said she always kept quiet about her personal life out of respect. She wouldn’t even air out dirty laundry in her songs, and eventually she decided that her story was worth being told and she didn’t need to stay silent to protect those who hurt her. But she didn’t give an interview painting herself as an angel and throwing exes under the bus. And I think it says a lot that Sierra immediately went to the media, and even since that Alex has stayed mum on the subject.
I agree with the psychological damage points, and that Luke is likely overcompensating, if the relationship is real. Which in all honesty I’m leaning more towards as time goes on, but I’m still convinced even if they do like/love/whatever each other, modest! has some heavy handed access/control over it. And that could be perhaps to avoid a repeat of the Larzaylea mess, maybe they made Sierra sign a NDA, but I digress. Luke may also be convinced that because he didn’t defend Arzaylea, fans thought he didn’t care about her or was a bad boyfriend. It could have very easily been Arzaylea saying “hey you don’t defend me so you don’t love me, or fans see it as you don’t think I’m important enough to defend” etc. I don’t think Sierra is necessarily a bad person, while I’m entirely convinced Arzaylea was a shit-tier human being.
That being said, I do think she’s very aware that she is manipulating Luke, and taking advantage of the psychological damage Arzaylea did. I think that damage also makes him easier to manipulate or control and let me explain why.
TW - ALCOHOLISM, SUICIDE, VERBAL & PHYSICAL ABUSE
My dad was an alcoholic, and he committed suicide when I was very young. Because my mum left him, because he was becoming more abusive. Unfortunately instead of being the wake up call she wanted it to be, he shot himself and left her a note that said “I hope you got what you wanted”. Now, needless to say, this fucked my mum up really bad. She has never recovered. She has thrown all her emotions into a box, she is very clinical and doesn’t let her emotions control her. Which can be good sometimes but she’s very distant and cold. That being said, my mum married my step dad about 6 years after my bio dad passed away. She was not healed, let me tell you. She never sought counselling and is not on any sort of medication. My step dad was like the perfect man, before they got married, he cooked, he cleaned, and he was okay with the fact she had two young kids, one in elementary school and one just starting high school. But after they got married and he had control, oh everything changed. He isolated her from all of her friends and even her family. He was and still is verbally abusive and on occasion he can be physically abusive, but it’s rare. To her and all of his kids, including my sister and I. If he doesn’t get his way he throws a tantrum, calls everyone awful names and says awful things. He needs to control everything. While I love my step dad because he helped raise me, he is a controlling abusive person. And while he has a lot of psychological damage himself I’m not going to get into that, but know that he has a kind heart, and he does love my mother and he would die for her. But when he loses his temper he says horrible things. And he knows about the abuse my mum suffered at the hands of my bio dad, and how she has never healed. My bio dad told my mum she couldn’t cook, and if she ever left him he’d get the kids even though he was a raging alcoholic, couldn’t hold down a job AND she was doing all the child care on top of a full time job. Like she had the daycare ladies prepared to call 911 if we didn’t show up at daycare when she was out of town for work, but I’m off track here. The point I’m trying to get to is my step dad would abuse my mum, and use things my bio dad did or said to her, to hurt her more. An example of this is, if my mum tried to walk away during one of my step dads yelling fits, he would say “yeah, walk away just like you did with [my bio dad’s name]”. Because he knows she blames herself for leaving him, and she thinks his death was her fault. My step dad knows my mum will never leave him, because of what my bio dad did when she left. He could burn their house down around them and she wouldn’t leave.
With that story I would like to say, please don’t judge my mum or either of my dads. You don’t know the whole story and I don’t want to share all of it. I’m using it as an example because I know it well.
The point in trying to make here, is one it’s very VERY common for people to go from one abusive relationship to another. Because abusers can recognize the signs of a victim, and those who were abused, when treated with even a small amount of love, or kindness often see it as a very big deal. They tend to think they are worthless or don’t deserve it, as they’ve been told many times over. Two, believe it or not, being abused before can make people more susceptible to being abused again. This is because of the reasons mentioned above, they think they are worthless, or are wooed by very small acts, or both. And three, that the new partner can and often will use personal things about the abuse they suffered from someone else, to control or hurt their partner more, becuase they know it’s already a deep seated pain. And while I’m not saying Sierra is for sure 100% doing this, it is very easily a possibility and she could be doing some of it without knowing. Just because a year, or 5 or 10 have gone by doesn’t mean the person has healed, and sometimes new partners open old wounds. This has been a whole TEDtalk sorry y’all. Also disclaimer if anyone comes into the ask box saying rude things about my family it will be deleted and you will be blocked.

OC #3 - Giovanni Marcello
Pinterest board 🔮 Tag on OC blog
Sorry for the long delay in these, uh, if y’all have been watching my posts I got sick and had to fight a bunch of hurdles in the super inundated pandemic medical world to even get my medicine and things have just kind of been exhausting, but LUCKILY I think (KNOCK ON WOOD) I’m on the tail end of it now and recovering.
SO here’s Giovanni. He’s a really special OC to me, he’s one of the protagonists of my novel. He means a lot and I’ve spent a LOT of time with him. I realized a while back that if I ever did one of those memes where you combine all of your favorite characters into an OC, Giovanni would be it. He’s really fun and I care a lot about him. I can’t wait to finish my novel and force people to really get to know him.
Giovanni is in his early-mid thirties and he’s gay. He’s the second youngest child and the youngest son in the Marcello family. The Marcellos own this huge corporation in the Fresno megalopolis that sells drugged, often heavily addictive candies to the public. They basically have the monopoly on the pharmaceutical industry even though they didn’t even initially claim any medicinal value, but as Himmel Medicine took over the entire hospital industry and started inflating medicine prices, Marcello Candies became the public’s go-to for over the counter drugs and self-medicating. Giovanni is the product of his father’s second wife, with whom he has one fully biological sister, Vittoria. She’s the other protagonist of my novel.
Giovanni was born to Vittorio and Camila Marcello. During the early years, Vittorio was very much not around, busy running the Marcello Candy Company and letting Camila worry about their infant son. After some time it became clear that there was something “wrong” with Giovanni - this universe probably doesn’t really have a reliable DSM, but it would be something along the lines of autism or ADHD. He was just taking a lot longer with things like talking than most would at his age, stuff like that. Vittorio was furious and suggested that they put him through intensive therapy to sort this out, but Camila reassured him that she would see to it personally that Giovanni was looked after, and he was, until he was about about seven, when she gave birth to his younger sister, Vittoria, and died of complications shortly after.
Now that his mother was gone and Vittorio was left to parent alone, he went through with his initial plan and set Giovanni up with a strict tutor and therapist who was supposed to train Giovanni to comply properly with Vittorio’s expectations for him. Obviously, this didn’t really do much except horribly effect Giovanni’s sense of self and destroy any sort of confidence or certainty in his identity that he may have had otherwise. And, between the therapist, his father, and his older brother Antonio, already a teenager, who often babysat him and was merciless and cruel to him all being men, he also came to really fear men and have a very intense aversion to masculinity in general, which would fuck with him more and more as he grew older and began to develop attraction exclusively to men. By the time he was in his teenage years he was a complete mess with horrid self esteem issues and constant insecurity. Vittorio insisted on him staying inside as often as possible, not wanting him to be seen by the public and ruin the family’s name, and the one person who tried to reach out to him, his half brother Dante, killed himself not long after.
What probably saved Giovanni’s life was becoming invested in makeup. Trapped in trauma and internalized homophobia he didn’t comprehend that his attraction to women was not any sort of romantic or sexual attraction but a sort of draw towards femininity, in part to cope with aforementioned trauma and in part to grapple with his own complex feelings about gender and sexuality he was dealing with. Through makeup he could get in touch with a more effeminate side, a space more comfortable than masculinity, and he could begin to view his own face as a canvas for art instead of something ugly and imperfect. He began to experiment with makeup and get increasingly good at it, and it gave him something to be passionate about for the first time in his life.
Vittorio, having given up on even wanting Giovanni to be a “functional member of society,” decided it would do less damage to his company’s name if he just kept him pacified, allowing him access to as much of the company’s drugged candy as he desired and giving him odd jobs around the company to give him busy and out of the public’s eye. In his free time he would take care of pet birds (which he adored), get drugged out on candies, and have sex with various women from the company - Something he didn’t even really enjoy except on a physical level and usually just left him feeling guilty and bad about himself and unable to understand what was wrong with him, refusing to even consider or address his attraction to men out of fear. Free time was also spent making his little sister’s life hell - He has a lot of complex feelings towards her, mostly jealousy and anger, feeling like she ruined his life by being born.
As the Marcello Candy Company grows more powerful, questions about the Marcello children would become more and more frequent, and Giovanni would eventually become a source of shame that his father could no longer handle. He (as well as Vittoria, his little sister) would get kicked out of the house and thrown out onto the streets, unofficially disowned with only a small monthly “allowance” to satiate them. At the time that this happens, Giovanni is thirty-four. The vast majority of my novel takes place around these events so I want to keep things from here kinda vague, but I will say that he ends up on the outskirts of Fresno and comes to stay with Angel Steel and Hollywood California in a little house that they’re using to hide out in. Angel becomes one of Giovanni’s primary love interests, although he also has some “interaction” with an assassin named Leatherette too (I’ll do his bio soon… maybe it’s the next one? Hmm). He eventually comes to live out by the beach as a fortune teller, but I don’t want to share too much, though I don’t mind spoiling that he doesn’t straight up die in my book LOL.
Giovanni can be very childish and immature. He overcompensates for his insecurities by being very haughty and bratty. He likes to take petty little shots at his sister but he gets very easily offended when she retaliates. He likes to imagine that he’s something of a romantic. He loves makeup, glitter, and the colors purple and gold. He likes fancy clothing, scarves, flowers, and dangling earrings that he can tap and swing around and rub between his fingers when he gets anxious. One of his bigger struggles is conceptualizing things around him as real and existing with their own thoughts and feelings rather than being stuck inward and only focusing on himself, which only leads down a path that hurts others and makes him incredibly self-destructive as well since he hates himself. One way this manifests is through his pet birds; despite how much he adores them he struggles to take care of them and frequently kills them via neglect, which makes him feel really bad too. You can dwell on foreshadowing here if you’d like, or wait to read my novel and learn more about what happens. :)
Giovanni doesn’t have very good social skills and he gets pretty flustered and nervous easily, but like I said before, he usually copes by acting out which only makes things worse for everyone, including himself. He’s pretty good at embarrassing himself. He eats way too much candy and is almost always high or drunk because he doesn’t really want to think too hard about stuff. He loves art, especially paint and makeup. I think Giovanni feels very bad about things very often but has worked extremely hard to mask it as well as possible by simply rejecting anything that makes him feel at all guilty or uncomfortable, so he has a very fractured sense of self.

Name: Braden O’Brien Age: 31 Sexuality: Heterosexual Gender: Male Portrayed By: Sebastian Stan Availability: Closed
“This whole thing has torn my family apart. We’ve got to catch this psycho.”
→ Background
Braden grew up in Ireland after his Scottish mother moved there permanently after studying there for years as a foreign student, once she’d fallen in love with his father. Where Lisa Sharpe preferred the ‘K’ names for her children, her sister Jill loved names beginning with ‘B’. Braden is the older brother to Benjamin O’Brien and is Kelly, Kane, and baby Keegan Sharpe’s cousin. Braden liked his life in Ireland well enough but he always felt more connected to Scotland, where his aunts and grandparents lived. His father’s parents had died when he was only a kid so he didn’t remember them and honestly didn’t feel much of a connection to Ireland as his father maybe wished he did. Braden eventually moved to Scotland when he turned nineteen, to attend university there. He stayed with his mother’s other sister, Katy, until he had the means to move out and live on his own. Braden kept in touch with his family almost constantly, it was very important to him, and he knew that his father was a little upset to not have him at home but it got easier over time, and they would visit, sometimes all even heading to England to visit aunt Lisa, uncle Gregory and the cousins.
Braden has always been very protective of his younger brother, Benji, though sometimes the fact his little brother is just so damn nice all the time can annoy him. Maybe Braden was a little jealous of his brother also because, honestly, everything was just always so easy for him, or so it seemed to Braden at least. He was never quite as good with girls or relationships with other people as Benjamin seemed to be. Sometimes it can be embarrassing to have your little brother be more successful at certain things than you are but maybe Braden is also just a little too hung up on proving his ‘masculinity’ sometimes.
→ Back to Baberton
Coming to stay in Baberton wasn’t some big plan but Braden was starting to feel like he needed a little bit of space. After studying to become a police officer, like his uncle Gregory, he sort of crashed and burned a little. He couldn’t find a job in Scotland, not because he wasn’t capable but because the station he was supposed to be sent to ended up being too far away for him to travel every day. Braden was becoming disillusioned with his life, which happened sometimes he supposed, but it didn’t help that his brother seemed to be doing so damn well in Baberton. So he decided, after a long heart-to-heart phone call with his father, to head to Baberton to stay with his other family for a while. To refresh himself and see what happened. The police station in Baberton was also more than happy to have more extra help considering all the insanity that’s happening there these days with their serial killer problem.
He got himself an apartment of his own across town from his uncle’s place. He’s always thought his uncle is pretty cool, being chief of police round here and all, working on catching the killer who’s plaguing the town and Braden’s eager to get in on the action. He’s wanted to be a police officer most of his life and is over the moon to finally be able to actually put everything he’s learned into action. Braden feels like Baberton could be a great new start for him, though tragedy did strike the family twice in the last couple years, in a fairly massive way. His aunt Lisa died in what looked like a suicide, but was later found to be a murder. Gregory’s brother Nate was locked up for this. Then his cousin Kelly killed herself and the Sharpe/O’Brien family have just been under a bit of a cloud lately. He’s eager to be there for his family, especially his uncle and his remaining cousins, and his brother of course. Braden just wants everything to go back to normal, though he’s not sure that’s really possible.
→ What’s His Secret?
He goes to AA meetings quite often, not because he has a problem with alcohol or drugs, but simply to seem more interesting and add some excitement into his life. All the disillusionment made him long for something, some sort of connection, and he also uses these meetings as a way of making more friends. He met Vanessa Williams at one meeting in another town, though she didn’t totally seem like she belonged either.
Back in high school, Braden was a bit of a bad boy. He ended up releasing the nude photos of a girl he’d been seeing who his relationship with ended pretty badly. The trauma that resulted from everyone seeing these pictures caused the girl to kill herself. Braden has hated himself for it ever since, knowing that he caused the death of another person. Other people’s lives and suicide isn’t a joke to him anymore and he takes bullying and revenge porn seriously and overcompensates for his own horrible past.
Has developed a little bit of a crush on his brother’s new friend Felicity Klein. She’s cute and from what he’s seen of her, nice, but also kind of... weird. It doesn’t put him off too much since he thinks she’s hot and he wouldn’t mind getting to hook up with her at all.

AU: The Masquerade
An AU that takes place in the Vampire The Masquerade setting. Each of the muses listed below has been sorted as a member of a clan associated with the Camarlilla: the holders of the status quo, with the intention of maintaining the masquerade and masking the existence of Kindred (vampires) and hiding it from the world. Each clan is a family of sorts with their own quirks, weaknesses and distinctions. Threads in this verse probably won’t have much of a smut focus (despite the general nature of this blog I know I do other things too y’know ;) ) but it wouldn’t be out of the discussion.
Ventrue (7): The politicians and executives. The leaders and influencers. The Warlords. The top dogs. They are considered the mind of the Camarilla. They are the authority. The blue bloods, so to speak. They take charge when needed, tend to see themselves as a necessity to maintaining both order and the masquerade, regardless of whether or not that’s true.. They tend to be adapt at management and leadership and as such, their lives tend to revolve around such things. A kindred won’t even be welcomed into Ventrue society until they prove themselves in said area of expertise, establishing their own domain of influence without aid. Their biggest weakness is their palate. Each Ventrue is only able to feed off specific targets and can only ingest blood from said targets alone (can only feed off of young men, can only feed off of rich women, etc.). They can’t have any other kind of blood, even when starving and in desperate need to feed.
Sophia Andrews (an agent, focusing on management. can only feed off of women)
Evelyn Vasco (Businesswoman, owns a club. Can only feed off of virile men)
Rhys Chapman (Businessman, owns a luxury hotel. can only feed off of women)
Dwayne Phillips (businessman, deals with electronics and energy, can only feed off of women)
Persephone Sweet (an agent, focusing on public relations, can only feed off of executives)
Electra Syren (businesswoman, owns a tech company, can only feed off of young adults (see Amber A) )
Isabel Delgado (a universal agent, focused on business, can only feed off of men)
Toreador (7): The artists. The social elite. The beautiful people. If the Ventrue are the mind of the Camarilla, the Toreador is said to be the soul. One of the most influential clans in the Camarilla as they have the greatest ties to the mortal world through social and cultural interaction. They can host anything from a high society dinner to children’s theater. As implied by the description thus far, they can most embody the idea of the vamp, one who can get by on sheer sex appeal. They tend to be up on the latest trends, when they aren’t the ones setting them themselves. By nature, art is the cornerstone of this clan. Of course, as per usual, the definition of what could be considered art varies from kindred to kindred. It could be a martial art, if could be painting, writing, graphic design. They could consider their body to be art in of itself. They can also be expert marksmen, incredible musicians, etc.. However, they can also be cult leaders, preachers, evangelists and the like. Their weakness is their fixation with beauty. They can find themselves distracted by something they find exceptional beauty to the point where it could be hazardous to their unlife. Their vision and sensitivity can hurt them as much as it can help them. As such, they can also find themselves prone to falling for mortals and other vampires. It can also keep them from reaching perfection in their art, which could cause them to lose interest in it. Despite this, they aren’t as brainless as one might assume and they aren’t to be underestimated.
Regan Kensington (her art is her body and beauty)
Rachel Hallsy (her art is her beauty but she also takes part in a number of things from painting to dancing)
Caitlyn Bridges (her art is botany)
Soraya Mousavi (Toreador are known to be talented investigators, which she was even prior to being embraced)
Karen Sofer (her art is her body, by way of dancing, camshows and “mingling” with others)
Raul Gallo (his art is cooking)
Calvin Moss (he doesn’t really dedicate himself to art, appreciation for it aside. instead, he’s put his newfound “gifts” toward a goal he had before his embrace: becoming a cult leader. he’s organized his own flock of followers, all too eager to allow him to use them as a blood source)
Claire Simcova (her art is her body. a former model turned personal trainer. so you could argue that her art is fitness)
Malkavian (3): The madmen. The pranksters and lunatics. The seers and the oracles. They are bound by strange compulsions and perceive and articulate things in a manner different than most. Their jokes can range from silly to sadistic. Somehow, they’ve managed to remain as one of the oldest surviving clans, even being among the founders of the Camarilla. Barely a clan on the surface, a large number of them probably aren’t even aware they belong to one. Hell some aren’t even aware they’ve sired anyone! They tend to be tolerated at best, and even so, probably when they have enough self-control to refrain from violating the masquerade. While being embraced by a Malkavian guarantees insanity, they tend to embrace those who were halfway there to begin with. IF you see them muttering to themselves, they might be talking to theirself, or they can be in a conversation with another Malkavian, as they are all connected by a psychic link. Their madness of course, tends to be their biggest weakness. They are always guaranteed to suffer at least one derangement. That said, they can inflict horrible, debilitating insanity just as well. Be wary of the Malkavians. Dementation can destroy your very soul.
Molly Frye (disorder: dependent, derangement: overcompensation/dependent personality disorder)
Aline Seidel (disorder: paranoid, derangement: memory lapses, paranoia)
Jacqueline Logan (disorder: borderline, derangement: antisocial personality disorder, berserk)
Brujah (6): The rebels, the anarchists, the poets and freedom fighters. A founding clan of the Camarilla, you can be forgiven for writing them off as just a bunch of thugs and street punks. You’d be wrong...for the most part. They’ve a lot more going on then given credit for, and they’re always willing to rally under and fight for what they consider to be a worthy cause. Some prefer to follow charismatic leaders, others prefer individualism. They’ll be glad for a chance to speak their mind, just as they will be a chance to wreck something otherwise. Their weakness is a hair trigger temper and propensity for being wrathful, which means it’s easier for them to fall into a frenzy. There tends to be little organization among them, and they tend to sire whoever they want, for whatever reason they want.
Kyle Bridges
Deacon Wells
Juliana Rouco
Christina Fonseca
Mikaela Banes
Shannon Lawton
Katherine Logan
Chelsea Moore
Tessa Slater
Diora Frye
Gangrel (3): The beasts. The nomads. They prefer to be closer to nature. They prefer the thrill of the hunt. They were a founding clan among the Camarilla, but eventually, they got fed up with them and struck out on their own and now serve as an independent clan. Upon being embraced, they are subsequently left to fend for themselves in the while for a short period of time. The reasoning being that if they can’t survive on their own, they can’t hack it. Those who can survive are welcomed into the clan formally. They are the least social, and most predatory of the kindrid, prone to being territorial. They are shifters, among other things. Their biggest weakness, is the effects of their frenzies. Any time they hit frenzy, they can grow more monstrous and beastall in appearance.
Ken Logan
Lucio Vasco
Clair Morgan
Rosemary Morgan
Kimber Horne
Gisela Krieger
Miri Irvine
Nosferatu (3): The outcasts. The ugly. The spymasters and information brokers. They know your secrets. Perhaps among the most underappreciated, underestimated clan of the group. Perhaps best known for their appearances, which tend to be horrifying, grotesque or plain ugly. Often to the point where they have to reside in and travel through the sewers just to maintain the masquerade. Just approaching a moral can be considered a violation in of itself. But they are also adept at crafting and stealth. They can tame the animals that reside in the sewers. They managed to form their own society among themselves. That said, their mastery of obfuscate can still allow them a number of advantages, as well as a means of attempting to remain among society. They tend to embrace one of two groups. The first, is those looked down upon by society. Those who are down enough on their luck where being embraced by a Nosferatu would be considered a step up: the mentally ill, the homeless, vagrants, etc., out of a sense of kinship. They also will embrace as a means of punishment. Don’t be surprised if you run into a Cleopatra: a Nosferatu who was embraced as a means to punish them for their ego and vanity. They value clan loyalty immensely, often dependent on being supportive of each other. The embrace is very painful, harmful to their body, as their deformities would attest to. It’s lucky if they even manage to survive the process. The weakness should go without saying at this point.
Vita Sommer (an information broker before her embrace and a more effective, illusive one after it)
Celine Beauchamp (was embraced when she was homeless during a harsh winter. physical pain from the shift to unlife aside, she’s managed to adjust well enough. she’d devoted a fair amount of time to tending to “plants” and animal life in their territories. in this case meaning mushrooms and other fungi, rats, dogs, cats and the occasional sewer gator. very helpful with security for one’s haven)
Rhosyn Ravenwood (was embraced in part her sire wanted to prevent the Tremere from getting to her first.)
Lilith Cameron (was embraced as her sire had taken a liking to her. she’s since continued working as a blogger (though a different, more low key kind, and has taken steps towards being an information broker in her own right)
Elizabeth Sage (resentful of her current predicament, has developed a bit of a disproportionate dislike for the Toreador, wishing she had been embraced by them instead)

Log Horizon and KHR
Log Horizon:
My all-time favourite character:
Shiroe - Maybe I’m a bit basic, but I really do love our protag in this series. Smart protags are depressingly out of favour these days, and it’s so refreshing tbh. I love how badass he is without having any traditional strength - his class really reflects his personality very well. He’s the GL of a small guild and would otherwise not have any power, but he knows how to use his skills to his advantage and that makes him one of the most powerful people in the game. I love how caring he is about those around him, even if he doesn’t show it, and I love that he’s not all that hung up on people’s opinions of him, even if it does frustrate me to death seeing people badmouth him without knowing him.
A character I didn’t used to like but now I do:
Rundel Haus Code - I love my sparkly son and would die for him in a heartbeat. He brings a really interesting perspective to the show, as a person of the land, and I just love everything about him.
A character I used to like but now don’t:
I really genuinely cannot think of anyone rn. There aren’t very many characters I actually dislike in this show and the ones I do dislike, I’ve disliked from the beginning.
A character I’m indifferent about:
Kanami - I don’t find her the least bit interesting as a character and the episodes of the anime that focus on her are some of my least favourite. I don’t dislike her, I just find her parts dull.
A character who deserved better:
Akatsuki - okay so there is a lot to unpack here. I love the concept of her character, but the way the author treats her is unacceptable and it breaks my heart because she could have been such a great character. I love her no-nonsense attitude and I love how capable she is. That being said I hate that she’s a typical “loli” character. I hate that she has the face of a 12-year-old despite being in her twenties, and I hate that Naotsugu sexualizes her even when thinks she’s an elementary/middle-schooler. I also hate that so much of the time (especially in the latter half of season 1), she’s relegated to standing around next to Shiroe without doing anything, or otherwise she’s being pitted against Minori and Henrietta in fighting for Shiroe’s affections.
A ship I’ve never been able to get into:
Shiroe/Akatsuki - The way he treats her is basically how he treats Minori most of the time - that is to say, like a younger sister. There’s no romantic chemistry between them and I wish the author would stop trying to force it. If I honestly had to choose a girl out of Shiroe’s harem that I would like for him to end up with, Henrietta would be my first choice by far.
A ship I’ve never been able to get over:
NaoShiro - They’re in love and I won’t have anyone tell me differently. I really love their dynamic, and how they treat each other as equals. Not to mention that Naotsugu’s “pervynness” is extremely OOC in relation to the rest of his otherwise extremely respectful and chivalrous character, and I like to think it’s him overcompensating for his crush on Shiro as a result of internalized homophobia.
A cute, low-key ship:
Isuzu/Rudy - They’re cute and I like how they complement each other. The dog comparisons are pretty messed up though and Mamare Touno needs to Stop™.
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it:
Marielle/Henrietta - It’s been implied before that they know each other irl and I like their relationship with each other. Henrietta is quite obviously a high femme lesbian, and I think she and her disaster femme lesbian girlfriend make a very cute couple. In 2019 we let both girls move on from their comphet crushes and start dating and being happy with each other.
A ship that was totally wrong and should never have happened:
Krusty/Lenessia - I originally didn’t mind this ship very much because Lenessia looks to be in her early twenties, but after reading the light novels and finding out that she’s only 15 (as opposed to Krusty’s 26), I am completely squicked out by this. It’s obvious that she has a crush on Krusty, and it looks like the ship might become canon and I really hope it doesn’t because it is just absolutely nasty.
My favourite storyline/moment:
The Goblin King Arc - it was absolutely fascinating seeing the politics between the Round Table and Eastal’s council of Lords. I would love to see more of the interactions between the Adventurers and the People of the Land.
A storyline that should never have been written:
That one episode during the scale festival when Shiroe went out on a date with both Akatsuki and Minori, and the two girls spent the entire episode being horrible to each other and to Shiroe
My first thoughts on the show:
Amazing plot, lovable characters, can’t wait to see what happens next
My thoughts now:
All of the above, but also I can see that there are some extremely problematic aspects to it. I don’t like the way the female characters are treated, and I don’t like that so many of the young female characters have crushes on guys so much older than them (eg: Serara’s crush on Nyanta, Minori’s crush on Shiroe, Lenessia’s crush on Krusty).
Anyways nonny, this ask is getting a bit long, so I’ll leave it at just this for now, but don’t worry, there’s another ask in my inbox also about KHR, so I hope you don’t mind if I don’t answer that one quite yet.

Just Friends (USA, 2005)
Tumblr media
Predictions: Alex thought she had maybe seen this movie before and half-remembered it was crass. Based on this, Kat predicted it would be disappointing and not nearly as charming as the title might lead one to hope.
Plot: Oh god. WHERE TO BEGIN. We open on Ryan Reynolds in a fatsuit -- always a good sign. He is an unpopular high schooler who is somehow miraculously best friends with Amy Smart, the hottest girl in school. Of course, he is secretly in love with her. He decides to confess his love for her by writing a long letter in her yearbook, because WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG???? Naturally, this ends in humiliation.
Ten years go by! Ryan Reynolds grows up, gets hot, and doesn't return home or speak to Amy Smart or any of this other friends for the next decade. He becomes a music producer in Los Angeles, learns to play hockey, sleeps with all the ladies, etc. One Christmas, however, his boss wants him to go to Paris with Anna Faris, an up-and-coming totally insane starlet that Ryan Reynolds once slept with. Ryan Reynolds, while not thrilled, agrees.
Unfortunately, Anna Faris doesn't know you can't microwave tinfoil, so, long story short, their private plane has to make an emergency landing not far from Ryan Reynolds's hometown, and here Ryan Reynolds is, staying with his mom and his brother...and psycho Anna Faris. And guess who's recently moved back in with her parents?! We'll give you no guesses; it's Amy Smart. ZOMG, a second chance for Ryan Reynolds! Because he's Regular Ryan Reynolds now, not Fatsuit Ryan Reynolds!
Eager to prove he can get any lady, and possibly exorcise his high-school demons or whatever, Ryan Reynolds decides to seduce Amy Smart. But as it turns out, when it comes to Amy Smart, Ryan Reynolds still has no game at all. Many shenanigans ensue, which...do not bear getting into, but basically, it becomes clear that Ryan Reynolds still has feelings for Amy Smart, and she has feelings for him as well. However, this would-be romance is impeded by several things. Anna Faris, for one. Also, the other local nerd made good, now a hot EMT who goes around seducing women with one horrible original song, is also pursuing Amy Smart. Also, Ryan Reynolds is just constantly getting in his own way with nerves, overthinking, overcompensating, having random outbursts of anger at inopportune times...knocking over children…
Oh-so-very-much happened in this film. Anyway, eventually Ryan Reynolds finally manages to express that he both values Amy Smart's friendship on its own merits (WHAAAAT?! SHE'S NOT JUST A PIECE OF ASS???? CRAZY TALK) and has romantic feelings for her. The end.
Best Scene: This movie was nice for about a hot second, after Ryan Reynolds got over himself but before shit hit the fan. He and Amy Smart, having gotten back to a legitimate friends!place, are hanging out in his childhood bedroom. She makes fun of him for his earlier rampant name-dropping, offers to stay the night, and PUTS ON ONE OF HIS BUTTON-DOWNS TO SLEEP IN. And then he, like a human person, gets too in his feelings to make a move. It was all kind of sweet, and for a whole like three minutes, we did not hate this film.
Worst Scene: GOD. How to choose?! Between Anna Faris trying to seduce Ryan Reynolds's teenaged brother, the truly horrible personality of the other friend-zone-obsessed nerd made good, and the nonstop hilarity of people getting electrocuted and things catching on fire…!
Best Line: “I'm Chris Brander. I hang out with Good Charlotte and Pink. I go to Jay-Z's birthday party…" -- Amy Smart, mocking Ryan Reynolds in the aforementioned bedroom scene. Also, nothing more obviously dates this movie to the mid-'00s than the mention of Good Charlotte, wowwww. (Although! Apparently Good Charlotte is still playing! Who knew.)
Worst Line: “The truth is, I'm -- I'm afraid to be your friend, because I'm always going to want more. But then I got to thinking, that I'd rather have you in my life as a friend than not at all." -- Ryan Reynolds, making up with/confessing his love to Amy Smart. While we sort of appreciated this sentiment (although he basically walks it back in like the next sentence), it was...just...such a bad scene. We covered our eyes in embarrassment for him.
Highlights of the Watching Experience: This movie...had some serious ups and downs. It was...so bad. And then for like a minute, it was the movie we wanted it to be. And then it was awful again. It was also heavily mid-'00s in its obsession with the "friend zone." Which…sigh. While there were some okay moments, and we ultimately came away feeling that Ryan Reynolds did appreciate their friendship and care about her as a person, there was also SO MUCH GARBAGE. How dare Amy Smart be alive and not sleeping with all these men?! How dare she exist in the world, having conversations and being friendly?!
How Many POC in the Film: One Asian guy that Anna Faris was racist to. Perhaps one or two other POC who did not speak. Not great.
Alternate Scenes: We just...wish the entire film could have had the tone of that one bedroom scene. We would very much have enjoyed watching Ryan Reynolds and Amy Smart be friends who secretly mutually wanted to bang, each of them angsting about whether the other wanted to bang, for an hour and a half. (Anyone? Anyone? No? Just us?)
Was the Poster Better or Worse than the Film: Worse, which is saying something. The poster looks like we will have to endure an entire film of Fatsuit Ryan Reynolds and the subsequent jokes. Hard pass.
Score: 3.5 out of 10 name-dropping smooches. Avril Lavigne! John Mayer! Matchbox Twenty!
Ranking: 126, out of the 162 films we’ve seen so far.

They don't seem to get much coverage, discussion and popularity in Fata Morgana AFAIK, but what do you think of Nellie, Pauline and Maria on their own, or even their relationships with the other characters? I personally liked the lonely nuance behind Nellie's 'rambunctious' behavior and Maria's bluntness while still having the capacity to care those around her, but also capable of being vindictive, and it kind of saddened me when someone dismissed Nellie as 'whiny' and Maria as 'evil bitch'.
Hm, this got a little long, sorry! At some point I just totally lost the ability to write quick responses to these things apparently.
Oh, I really like Nellie! She’s definitely my favourite Fata character outside of the main four, no contest. It actually makes me really sad that that one scene at the end of door 1 (you know the one) is so horribly cheap and tacky and impossible to take seriously, because the basic core of the emotions behind her arc and her characterisation in general honestly always felt heartbreakingly real and relatable to me. Underneath the very tropey surface layer, I think she’s a surprisingly good portrayal of a really lonely and miserable person desperately clinging on to the only person who actually seemed to care about her, even as it becomes increasingly obvious that he doesn’t actually care that much any more, because her memories of him are the only source of happiness she has. It honestly really hurts for me to read a lot of the scenes in door 1 where she’s just incessantly badgering Mell to give her any kind of compliment or recognition or validation, because it feels like something I can uncomfortably relate to and recognise in myself, especially when I was younger. I appreciate that the game really allows her to be actively bratty and spiteful and self-absorbed in a genuinely ugly ways - she doesn’t hesitate to use gross classist insults against the WHG, and her constant demanding clinginess absolutely comes across as something that would be difficult for anyone to deal with - but is still ultimately very sympathetic to her as a person and to the ways she’s been wronged on the whole, especially in door 8.
I feel like her characterisation acknowledges something important in the sense that, yes, she can be a brat, but that kind of self-centered bratty behaviour can often partly be a reaction to genuinely bad circumstances and have legitimate grievances behind it (being forced into marriage at that age would be absolutely horrific), and that there can be sympathetic reasons for people being that way - especially people like Nellie who is literally still just a child. It feels important to me to be able to say that Nellie genuinely can be a brat but is just as genuinely a victim who absolutely did not deserve to be in the awful and lonely situation that she is, and absolutely deserving of sympathy and help all the same; she’s definitely a very self-absorbed person who doesn’t really give much real thought or consideration to the people around her, but I also feel like she kind of has a right to be that way since none of the people around her ever paid any real attention to her either. She’s honestly a character I feel really defensive of in that sense.
And yeah, it seriously makes me legit angry when people dismiss her as just being whiny or overly dramatic about her problems, because it feels a lot like the same thing Mell did - off-handedly dismissing her as just a petulant child because of the WAY she expresses herself, rather than actually paying attention to WHAT she’s expressing and why (because the pain of her situation is honestly something he’d be perfectly capable of understanding and relating to if he actually tried putting himself in her shoes for five seconds, but he doesn’t). I do think it’s genuinely important for children not to be dismissed for expressing themselves in childish ways, even legitimately problematic ones (which Nellie’s absolutely can be, for sure). So I think the way the game sets up Nellie’s arc in terms of putting most of the emphasis on her surface “spoiled brat who’s just way too clingy with her brother” persona in door 1, and then totally peeling that back in door 8 to emphasise that she’s ultimately just a very lonely kid who just needs affection and understanding, really worked for me. I think both versions of her character really complement and enrich each other in that way. (And her friendship with Michel is just totally darling, awwwwww!! Their interactions made me really really happy for both of them. I really think those two actually have a lot in common with each other when you look beneath the surface.)
I like Maria a lot too! Like you said, I think they did a good job of portraying her being super blunt and pragmatic while also absolutely caring a lot and being fiercely protective of the people she sees as her “family”. She really does strike me as a very cool and admirable person! I think I had trouble really connecting with her initial portrayal in door 3, personally - her actively delighting in her cruelty even to an innocent victim like the WHG sort of pushed her a bit too much into over-the-top villain territory for me - but I thought she was absolutely fantastic in door 8 and Requiem. (I’m sort of interested in going back to door 3 with that added context, though, because I feel like there’s probably some more nuance to that which I’d be able to better pick up on with a fuller perspective of the character; I can certainly see a sort of dislike and resentment for the WHG’s optimism and naivete actually making some sense in retrospect, and Maria sliding totally into anger and bitterness as a result of her family being killed does feel like something I could see as a legit darker take on the character.)
I generally appreciate the portrayal of her blunt, cynical attitude actually translating into being aware and attentive to people’s human flaws and weaknesses in important ways; her being the only one to really see Michel as a regular person rather than a saint in door 8 and trying to persuade him to stop pushing himself so hard was really nice, and it made me sad to see that she was the only one to immediately predict that Jacopo becoming the lord would totally ruin him too. It’s a kind of skepticism and realism about how much her friends are really capable of that honestly makes her a much better friend than all the people just taking for granted that Jacopo and Michel are amazing heroes that can totally do anything, in a lot of ways. It generally makes me really happy that Nellie and Maria were pretty much Michel’s strongest allies and friends in door 8, in contrast to how they both had such explicitly “antagonistic” roles in their original stories; I think they definitely both deserved it! I’m really glad that they’re pretty much the only two people in door 8 that Michel doesn’t hate, hahaha. Excellent judgment, Michel.
Pauline is, uh…I have a hard time caring about her, let’s put it that way! I kind of forget she exists a lot of the time. Her arc in door 8 about her suppressed desire for a “normal life” and trying to overcompensate through charity was decent enough, but I didn’t really feel like it really connected much to her portrayal in door 2 in any meaningful way (maybe I missed something?). And her main character traits of being overly trusting and blindly believing in people, while perfectly well portrayed and addressed in the text, didn’t really feel like they had enough individual nuances or exploration for me to really get invested in her on a personal level. I think, for a character trait as common and familiar as that, I’d really need some more in-depth exploration on how she rationalises that sort of blind faith to herself and where it comes from and what she gets out of it for me to really invest in it, but I didn’t feel like much of that was there. Her relationship with Yukimasa doesn’t really do anything for me, either; it feels very shallow and superficial to me, and that’s sort of okay when the game actually emphasises that and focuses on Pauline’s reasons for wanting to latch on to a relationship like that despite its superficiality (which it does a little in door 8), but when it’s played straight as something we’re supposed to actually feel invested in (like in door 2) I just sort of fall asleep. She’s just not a very interesting character to me, sorry!

What do you guys think about the names Dustin and Darcy for my protagonists in Let's Go?
Cos i really wanted to play the co op mode thing by myself, just so i can pretend this role in the plot is filled by two siblings and have a bit of fun roleplaying that. But i dunno yet how the co-op works and whether you'd be able to customize the avatar of the second player or if its just the default trainer? Or can you only play co-op if you have two separate games? Im planning to buy the other version anyway once i get more money, so it could be fun to play my first version with sibling one and then the second playthru is sibling two's turn to shine!
Oh and the whole reason i wanted to do this is cos i wanna try out the customization features to make some ocs now that there's no competitive online stuff unless you pay a subscription fee (LOL NO THANKS). Like..i always felt like i HAD to make my character me in xy/sumo/usum, otherwise its like lying online? But of course i cant actually make me because theres no nonbinary option or even remotely ambiguous outfits for either gender. And you cant have wild hair colours while i dye my hair 24/7 irl lol. Its silly cos like 95% of the gym leaders and other characters ingame have anime hair colours yet the player has to be normal? So yeah i cpuldnt really enjoy making this innacurate defanged version of myself yet i didnt feel like i was allowed to just make up a new character either. Closest i could do was give myself white hair like my old trainersona when i was 12, lol. I mean i guess thats my 'real hair colour' underneath the dye right now, if you think about it that way?
OH GOD PIKACHU CAN HAVE A LITTLE TUXEDO AND BOWLER HAT HOLY FUCK IM SORRY TO INTERRUPT THIS BUT I WAS WATCHING THE IGN REVIEW AND THEY SHOWED PIKA BOWLER HAT PLEASE GO GOOGLE THAT VIDEO JUST FOR THAT 1 SECOND OF NEW FOOTAGE OF MY BEAUTIFUL CLASSY BOYE
okay where was i
Yeah! I think sibling trainers could be a good and unique way to handle a rival! Like having them be your sibling already establishes that rivalry. But it can be a soft and nice rivalry! I wanna go with that fun version rather than the full on angry exaggerated sibling rivalries you often see in kids media. Like i know that some people legit dont get on with their siblings and some people can even have a very gary esque full on rivalry thats sorta 'love to hate' or like..tsundere pretending you hate them. But personally i never had experience with that, i can never relate to those 'tfw u hate ur sibling and theyre always an asshole but lolll u love them anyway' posts. I only got to live with my little sister for a little while due to the catastrophe of abusive parenthood that was my childhood, and i lost contact with her forever when she was very young so i doubt she'd even remember me. *sigh* But like i don't think i only love her so much because i miss her! People say newborns and toddlers are the most bratty so like you'd think if i was gonna ever find her 'annoying' i would have done it back then. I was always just mega proud of her and whenever she'd be 'bratty' i'd be cheering her on and trying to protect her from mom. And when she'd try and pull pranks on me or practise play-fighting or whatever i was just like 'lol thats legit funny' and taking play-falls so she felt better about herself. Like we didnt have much power in that household so i felt like encouraging her pretending to be a wrestler would help her feel like she had some sort of control in some part of her life i guess? And just i wished i was allowed to roughhouse and run around and be all 'unladylike' and just enjoy BEING A KID when i was a kid, yknow? I always had legit fun being with her and legit enjoyed it and was legit proud and legit never annoyed. I just dont understand 'yeah she's annoying but i love her anyway'. I was only ever her rival as a play-rival to help encourage her to like.. Enjoy the things she enjoyed. Feel like someone else cared. I only ever acted like 'ha ha baby stuff yeah sure i hate hanging out with my sister" cos i thought i was SUPPOSED TO. I always felt so guilty doing it and so dissappointed cos id rather hang out with her than be a boring stereotypical teen tbh. I dunno, maybe this isnt typical for siblings and its just a sign of how badly we were raised? I was just real fuckin lonely and absolutely loved having a family member who loved me for the first time since my grandma died. Same reason i always used to act all 'i am too cool i totally am not soft for my lil sister' around my lil sister's dad. I really wanted him to love me too! I used to say swear words at him cos i thougjt he would thibk i was Cool And Adult?? I have soooo many cringe moments from that phase of my childhood. Man it hurts to think that i never actually did get to become that positive influence that protected my sister from my mum and let her know she was loved. Cos i was sent to live with my dad when she was like 5ish? And never saw her again and now im too scared to try and reach out to her again because 1: she probably doesnt even remember me, 2: theres a chance she believes my mum saying i was some horrible asshole who abandoned the family, 3: even bigger chance that contacting her could mean my mum finding me again and big fuckin risk of further abuse. Plus the awkwardness of introducing my trans self when she'd remember me as her sister and all. Sigh! All i can do is hope that her cool dad eventually got custody of her, and that he didnt turn out to be a secret bastard like when i met my own dad. He seemed good, but then again i was just a lil kid and my dad seemed good at first. Sighhhhhh...
SO UMM YEAH WOW I MADE MYSELF SAD
Anyway the point is that whenever i write siblings i'd rather write 100% unapologetic super loving love cos its wish fullfillment for me. This is also why in/cest shipping is a massive beserk button for me, good wholesome family relationships are REAL FUCKIN IMPORTANT and how DARE you corrupt that shit! Some people would fuckin KILL to have that wholesome family!!
Anyway lol thats why i'd like a Wholesome Rivalry for these sibling ocs! Like they challenge each other to contests along the way just for fun, and they react all 'wow my sis is the BEST' when you beat them, so hard feelings at all. And you dont JUST do rival stuff but also sometimes just hang out and have fun cos you missed each other. And if anyone threatens your sibling then THAT is the only time you see the Serious Sibling Power! Rival moments: ha ha lol bet ya cant beat me ooo im a scary villain LOL I CANT KEEP A STRAIGHT FACE HAHA! Giovanni punches your brother: *stony cold death glare from hell as tricksy prank sis turns into an unstoppable vengeance engine* Oh, but also the only other time they'd be serious is in their final battle together! Like most of the 'rivalry' is just competing to make the adventure fun and to help each other get stronger. But if sis/bro ever actually legit said they really want to fight to find out who's the best, and its like..important to help their self confidence, then i think bro/sis would respect that and go all out. Taking a fall and letting them win would be the most disrespectful thing of all! Oh, but i do think there would be one kind of battle like that during the story? Like in one of the more low stakes faux-rival fights the sibling actually does try and let you win, and the challenge is to try and lose against all odds. High stakes super failure battle!!! Imagine the evil team in the background like 'wtf' as these two run the most aggressively slow race of all time! XD
Oh and i kinda thought about different personalities for the two of them based on who you pick? Like i did like that aspect about brendan/may in RSE compared to other 'unpicked option becomes rival' characters in later games that didnt even have one personality let alone two. It just sucks that the personalities they decided to give them were 'female rival is super self concious and thinks youre better than her because youre a boy' and 'male rival is super ego and thinks he's better than you because he's a boy'. Boooo!
So instead of that the personalities i was thinking for these two would be less sexist lol. Male sibling Dustin is basically Wally so far? I need to develop him a bit more to make him a bit distinct, i mean its not like every single shy dude is identical. I'm thinking maybe mix him with all the wasted potential in Brendan? Like in the game they slightly hint at him having the ONE non stereotypical trait of liking cute teddy bears, and that made me think about how much better his whole plot would have been if it actually criticized his sexism and said that he only behaves that way cos he's overcompensating for being bullied for being 'feminine', yknow? And then in the manga they actually DO write him as super feminine, and even as a contest star who loves fashion and dressing up his pokemon! But then GAHHH they present it as some sort of fuckin 'character flaw', like he's shown to be selfish and superficial because of it. And the backstory is that him and the female protagonist used to be 'normal' until a traumatic event. Brendan was a Natural Fighting Prodigy until he saved his female friend from a wild pokemon and was so traumatized that he never wanted to fight again, while she wanted to learn to fight so she'd never need to be protected again. But this is not only presented as Wrong Ways To Be Gender but also like.. Fighting their natural instinct which still comes through?? Like male protag hasnt fought in YEARS yet whenever he's forced to fight he's just magically better at it than female protag who's been practising all these years to become his equal. Ha ha silly girl you can never achieve that! All you get is this patronizing 'well if you just tryyyyy girly things im sure you'll like it' plot and then you get rescued by him in the end because OF COURSE you do. Sigh! I cant believe they made me hate that pairing even more than the games did! So yeah i dont really wanna write Dustin as a jerkass who's secretly got synpathetic motives of internalized homophobia/sexism, cos i feel thats a plot very specific to my perceptuons of Brendan and id basically just have to make Dustin a clone of him and he wouldnt be able to shine on his own merits. Instead i'm just thinking of writing him as a 100% sensitive soul, and he still faces predjudice for not being that bigoted idea of an 'ideal man' but really the fact he doesnt bow down to their demands proves that he's the bravest person here.
And then I'm thinking maybe the female sibling Darcy is the older one and is a bit "gary ish"? Like eitjer way you still have a friendly and loving siblingness, but she's a bit more of a sass who is tsundere about admitting she loves her bro. But i dont think she's the cold or grumpy sort of tsundere, more like a trickstery tomboy? Bombastic loki jock sis! She can only be a bit abrasive with her bro cos she wants to teach him to be tough even when she's not there to protect him. But sometimes she can mess it up and make him feel like he has to change his personality in order to be tough, rather than letting him know she supports him in being "unmasculine" and just wants to help him find the confidence to stand up to people who bully him for it. Like she feels like she is 'weaker' than him in the sense that she worries too much about what people will think if she expresses her real emotions, yknow? Like theyre both suffering from toxic masculinity! He's suffering from the standard form where men who are too 'soft' are beaten down into that mould. Ans she's suffering from the problem where 'masculine' girls feel like they have to be '100% masculine' in order to be allowed to be themselves at all. Like back when i was a kid and before i came out as trans i always used to try and pretend to like sports ans like..cliche macho shit where you Cant Admit You Care About Your Friends and also i wasnt allowed to like ANY feminine things at all. I had to either follow the stereotype of femininity entirely or follow the opposite stereotype, i wasnt allowed to just reject stereotypes and like what i actually like. So yeah me realizing i wasnt really a girl has led to me embracing more 'girly' things than back when i thought i was one! So i think Darcy would have a similar arc but like..the cis equivelant? Just finds people who arent such judgmental pricks and stops having to conform to either of those stereotypes in order to keep fake friends who dont really give a shit about her. She can have a plot about both forced feminine and masculine stereotypes being equally limiting, rather than that shitty 'being masculine is a prison uwu every woman will be happier embracing her love of makeup' shit. That dominant narrative just made me feel like i was somehow wrong about myself whenever i didnt like 100% Of Sports All The Time, i must be somehow girly if i liked even ONE girly thing yet i needed hundreds of proofs if i wanted to be masculine. And like i wasnt just allowed to be neither! I wasnt allowed to like parts of both! I wasnt allowed to BE GODDAMN TRANS!!! So yeah i dunno if i'd go whole hog and make this character a trans man or a nonbinary person tho? I think she's just actually a cis girl who happens to be sporty and brash and likes a lot of 'masculine' fashion and hobbies. And she's just been made to feel self concious about it, as if she cant possibly REALLY be that unless she likes Every Single Boy Thing and wins at Every Single Challenge. Does anyone else remember that shit too? The girls have to win Every sports game against the boys in order to be 'one of the boys' but if you lose even one of them it somehow proves that you're inferior. Even though the boys lost 50 billion games to you and that doesnt prove theyre inferior! Like man she has sooooo many 'gary rivals' in her school life, thats why she loves going on this adventure with a kind brother rival who actually respects her! So her resolution would just be her staying the same but being more confident about it and saying fuk u to those fake friends. Same as her brother's plot, just they both face different specifics to the way this sexism affects them, yknow?
Oh but yeah when i did finally learn about LGBT stuff and realize i was trans it was Big Amazing cos even in the rare stories about Its Okay To Be Yourself it still left me feeling weirdly empty when the girl decides that yes she does wanna be a girl in the end. So i get that these plots might come off as queerbaiting if i write them badly? I need to make sure to make it clear that these characters 100% want to be seen as this gender and its just other people being fuckfaces and trying to define what their gender has to mean. I think maybe i'll try and mitigate this potential misunderstanding by adding different sorts of lgbt content. And, well, also cos i just want lgbt content in all of my stories because i am lgbt, of course! I'm 100% sure that Darcy is gay, and i think also maybe possibly Dustin is trans? Like, his plot is about being mocked for being a 'feminine' boy, but its also even more personal for him because he's a trans boy and he feels like he needs to change his personality in order to pass/he isnt really real because his personality doesnt fit the stereotypical image of a man. Like if you'd looked at the two of them back when they were identical twins, you probably would have expected Darcy to end up being trans if you were the sort of person who believes those basic ass stereotypes about 'boys who play with barbies and girls who play with trucks'. Or i mean maybe its the other way around and Darcy is a trans girl who still has a 'masculine' personality according to stereotypes? Or even both of them are trans and both face being told that they arent real because they dont fit the perfect stereotype of a trans person according to cis perceptions? Or maybe i'm overcomplicating things with all of this and it'd just muddy the message i guess. I might just keep it to them both being cis but also both of them like girls. And i can always apply my trans and other LGBT headcanons to other characters along their adventure.
Anyway LOL im rambling too much!

TNG S03
I’VE DONE TWO OF THESE ALREADY YOU SHOULD KNOW WHAT’S COMING BY THIS POINT also everybody on this fucking show wears like one-piece jumpsuits and all I can think is how goddamn inconvenient must that be every time you need to take a leak.
Geordi la Forge - Geordi’s finally getting some focus episodes this season and it’s excellent, I’m remembering that I actually super like him as a character in his own right and not just as Data’s BF/BFF (it’s one of those two things). There’s something so pleasing about how he’s kind of socially-awkward and yet consistently responds to situations by being level-headed and compassionate. We should all be a little more like Geordi.
Guinan - I think Guinan’s a pretty cool lady, eh wears fantastic hats and doesn’t afraid of anything. She’s like the spacefuture version of “retired adventurer runs a tavern” which is a character type I’m fond of.
Lwaxana Troi - Honestly I could watch an entire episode consisting of nothing but Lwaxana, she is a gift to this world and her existence is basically the only thing which makes standard-issue Troi a tolerable character to me. I’m totally certain she’s not actually into Picard and is just trolling the shit out of him, which is honestly my favourite dynamic for people interacting with Picard (see also: why I love Q, although in Q’s case I’m like 80% sure at least some of the interest is genuine).
Worf - Man what is Up with Worf. It’s weirding me out how he keeps being presented as like, the most klingon klingon to ever klingon, Proud Warrior Race Guy who had his sense of humour surgically removed and replaced with HONOUR, but also he was mostly raised by humans yet despite this likes to act as though he’s unfamiliar with human culture sometimes?? I don’t even know, man. His determination to be super stereotypically klingon kind of makes sense as overcompensation for the whole raised-by-humans thing but that hasn’t actually come up in canon yet, any explanation you can make for his behaviour at this point is just fanwank. I don’t know, I feel like the show could be doing a lot more with Worf than it actually does.
S03E07 The Enemy - I don’t have super much to say about this episode but it sort of epitomises what I like about Geordi, he’s smart and resourceful and his response to a romulan pointing a space gun at him is to go “hey we’re in the same leaky-as-shit boat here, let’s work together to save ourselves using the power of FRIENDSHIP”. Meanwhile Worf thinks his honourboner is more important than not starting a war I guess?? fuck’s sake Worf.
S03E10 The Defector - Oh man I really loved this episode’s oneshot NPC!! Like a frankly ridiculous amount of really loved him; he’s my favourite (awful) shade of morally-grey and his motivation was something I found super compelling.
Honestly I super enjoyed everything about this episode. It was delightful and one of those rare episodes which completely worked for me, from the storyline to the character interactions to Data’s Shakespearian holodeck shenanigans suddenly becoming way less of a non-sequitur when Picard quotes it later in the episode. The plot leant just hard enough on all the is-he-or-isn’t-he that if you don’t think twisty enough you might forget that there’s a third possibility, and that’s always wonderful.
S03E11 The Hunted - Okay look if this episode wants me to agree that “stick them all on the moon” is a bad way to deal with people who automatically respond with uncontrollable hyperviolence when even slightly threatened then it needs to make less of a deal about how they’re people who automatically respond with uncontrollable hyperviolence when even slightly threatened. Seriously, they’re wired on a hairtrigger and they have literally have no ability to not respond with hyperviolence when set off, you can’t let them run around with the rest of the population and expect that to end well for anyone involved. The part where you gave up on helping them and decided to treat them all as criminals instead is horrible, but the basic plan of “stick them all on the moon” is really the only reasonable thing you can do under the circumstances.
S03E13 Deja Q - Man what fucking drugs are the Q even on though. “Hey I know we’re supposed to be punishing you here and you’ve only been human for like five minutes but also I guess what you’re doing right now bears like a super vague resemblance to a selfless act, what do you mean you’re trying to commit suicide oh my god Q just shut up and lie through your teeth for once, I need you to agree with me that this is a selfless act so that I have an excuse for giving you your powers back okay bye.”
I’m just going to assume they realised that Q trying to kill himself meant that they’d either have to permit him to cut his punishment short or else constantly interfere to prevent him from doing so and like, what even is the point of punishing Q if you can’t laugh at him while he suffers? Might as well restore him, at least that way the next few times he steps out of line you can threaten to hit him with the mortality stick again and laugh while he flinches.
S03E14 A Matter of Perspective - So we’re just gonna. We’re just gonna ignore the part where hologram!Riker sexually assaulted someone and this was (according to Troi) a true and accurate representation of what went down from the perspective of the person he nonconsensually macked on? We’re ignoring that, then. Okay.
S03E20 Tin Man - Somebody remind me to write up another red-string conspiracy headcanon post about why I’m convinced Data and Tam Elbrun fucked during this episode because they absolutely did, Tam Elbrun definitely 100% rode the fuck out of that android dick and I will fight any man to the death in defence of my interpretation of this episode.
S03E24 Ménage à Troi - This is another episode dominated by What’s Wrong With Wesley. See, FUCKING WESLEY THE WORST CHARACTER wants to go to Starfleet Academy, but the show doesn’t want FUCKING WESLEY THE WORST CHARACTER to go to Starfleet Academy it wants him to stay on the ship so I can suffer more. But because FUCKING WESLEY THE WORST CHARACTER is FUCKING WESLEY THE WORST CHARACTER he can’t just fail the exam because that would make him not the bestest most wonderfulest, so they have to think of Something Else. Last time the Something Else was that FUCKING WESLEY THE WORST CHARACTER solved someone else’s problems for them, but they couldn’t do that again so this time it’s that FUCKING WESLEY THE WORST CHARACTER saves the day by solving a problem and this makes him late for his space bus. In conclusion: FUCKING WESLEY THE WORST CHARACTER.
tl;dr: Still want to live in the parallel universe where Jarok gets to be a main character and has focus episodes and a character arc and everything, also I’m glad Data finally got to have fully-consensual sex not under the influence of Weird Space Drugs.
IN OTHER NEWS about halfway through this season I had to start watching every episode multiple times because I hit a point where my brain just would not register anything happening onscreen. So okay I guess it is time to Take A Break. Remember to check back in next week for your randomly-scheduled Hap Doing Senseless Bullshit!
