She jerked her head up, startled, but relaxed immediately when she realized it was you

She ran to you, grabbing your hands, tears forming in her eyes

“Oh, (Y/N), I know I’ve done this a million times, but I’m so scared! There’s so many people out there…!” She rambled, your eyes softening, giving her hands a squeeze

You reached out and held her cheek in your hand, stroking her cheek with feather-light pressure, “Hey, you’re gonna do great. No matter what you do, they’re gonna love you. Come on, let’s take some deep breaths.”

You led her over to a couch, taking deep breaths with her and praising her when she would

Marina sighed as she began to feel her nerves settling, and finally, a smile crept onto her face, “Thank you…you always know how to calm me down.”

You smiled back, giving her a quick kiss, “Anything for you. We’d better get going. How am I gonna be able to see you from the front row if I don’t snag my spot?”

Marina’s eyes bubbled up ecstatically, and she clasped her hands together, squealing, “Oh my cod!! You didn’t!”

You let out a laugh, nodding as she engulfed you in a hug

You watched Marina perform beautifully, and most of the concert, she glanced at you with pure love and even blew you a kiss at the end

Girl LOVES rambling to you about machinery it’s adorable

She could go on for hours, and you listen to her even though you have no idea what any of it means

Just seeing her eyes light up and seeing her smile makes the confusion all worth it 

Got a problem with the TV? Marina’s on it

You found her once in the middle of the night working in the living room with the entire floor covered in parts

“Marina…what are you doing? It’s 2 AM…”

“Sorry, babe. I didn’t mean to wake you! I’m fixing the TV! You said it was glitching out again…”

Her eyes were shining with glee and she had the biggest smile on her face

So, you shook your head and went to the kitchen, grabbing her a snack and a drink, and sat on the floor next to her and watched her work

She gets so focused when she works, it’s lowkey hot

When she’s not in the studio with Pearl, she’s busy constructing up some new machine or prototype weapon

She’ll be in her bunker for hours to the point where you have to pull her away to eat or drink something

She doesn’t whine, but rather, she’s the type to say “just five more minutes and I’ll be done...” and then an hour passes

When this happens, you have to pull her away or else she’ll never stop

It’s a rainy day in night city and the group is trying to avoid leaving the bar for as long as possible. They all stood at the door, watching the downpour while Johnny held the door open, even he didn’t want to go outside. Where the hell were Vince and Judy? Johnny had half the mind to text them that they were leaving when, speak of the devil, he got a call from his input.

“Where the hell are you?”

“Come to the alleyway out back.” What?

Kerry was looking at him with a raised eyebrow, and Johnny let out a long sigh before telling everyone to grab their jackets, Vince needed them.

The bartenders and Samurai pulled on their jackets, curious as to what Vince needed them for.

“If there’s a dead body out there, I’m not gonna be the one to call the police.” Rogue states, pulling her hood up.

They trudged outside in the rain, grumbling when they found Vincent, Judy, and River crouched over something. Judy looked up and nudged Vincent, who looked up with an odd look on his face.

He stood slowly, something tucked into his jacket that he was looking down at as he approached. “No sudden moves, she’ll claw me up.” He said softly, and the group stepped closer.

A soaking wet Kitten was in Vincent’s jacket. And Vincent was already giving it heart eyes. And Johnny and Kerry knew it was all over, he had fallen in love with the kitten. It was kinda ugly, with no fur but perhaps that why the group seemed to already like it. Kerry slowly reached his hand in and pet the little guy’s head, smiling a bit as he and Denny stepped closer to look.

“You’re keeping it aren’t you?” Rogue asked, making an odd face it. Vincent grinned and nodded, looking back at Judy and River. He was acting like he was introducing his newborn baby.

“Everyone.. meet Nibbles.”

She needs all the live and care after what she’s been through yk. But yeah. I don’t always like when used people have her being this lil softie immediately because I think it would take a lot of adjusting to. It would take her time to shake out if the ways she’s gotten herself set into.

And as for the first take, that fic in itself it’s so angsty and so that’s why I ran with it but it did just feel so fitting. Tess wanted to be in Jackson which is what I always think. But it’s just so vastly different to what she’s used to. Like she’s been used to walking around in charge, being the top dog yk. And now she’s not. And it would take her some time, she’s irritable and agitated because she’s out of confront zone. But reader definitely helps to soften her up a lot.
