I like that people subscribes to the fact that shortaki doesn't stay as a couple and eventually get back together as they grow up but w a bit more awareness (I prefer it this way because I'm not usually into ships that start too young)

girl gang AU comic i've had stuck in my head since i thought it up!

jacket used 2 belong 2 Angie, the leader of a biker gang who Helga got rly close 2 and was tragically killed. The other members gave Helga the jacket, as Angie had promised her 1 when she got older. It gives Helga some strength and resolve to keep searching for justice 4 her

Shortaki Week 2023 Announcement!

Welcome everyone! It’s 2023 and we’re back it with another #Shortakiweek! This will make be the 5th (non-consecutive) year that we’ve done this little project and it continues to be a delight for the fandom.

Round 5 will begin on June 25th and finish on July 2nd! You’ll have 8 days to share creative love letters to the fandom and this amazing ship with your fellow super fans!

Participating is easy! Simply choose a prompt, create something for said prompt, and post your creation to tumblr (using the #shortakiweek tag (make sure it’s included in the first 5 tags!)) on the day designated to the prompt. Creators can choose as many prompts and submit as many works as they’d like! There are absolutely no limitations here!  Once your work(s) have been posted/cross-posted to tumblr they’ll be re-blogged to our community!

Shortaki Week 2023 - Day One - Sweater / Loss / Train

Decided to post my Shortaki Week 2023 on tumblr as well as my Instagram since I'm doing them on time. I challenged myself to do all three prompts every day because I'm crazy like that. It's usually formatted: one is obvious, another is hidden a little, and the other is a bit of a stretch.

With this in mind, Sweater is the most obvious, Train is hidden a little, but Loss is a bit of a stretch. I tried to format this four panel comic in a certain way. One character. Two characters with one a bit smaller than the other. Two characters, the same kind of height. And a long telephone pole and the lengthwise train. If you know, you know. If you don't, thank your lucky stars.

I feel like this was the worst drawing out of the week. But even then, I'm glad that it turned out pretty good considering. Just a cute little interaction between the two. Almost like a little warm-up. I hope you like it!

Yay The Patakis Week is here!!

The Patakis is a concept focused on Helga’s home life as a teen while Arnold is away living with his parents after Jungle Movie. A motif of the series is Helga writing him letters, envelope, stamped, and all, and shoving them in a binder in her closet, never sending them out.

Following the prompts, my idea was that they both attended a party for a mutual friend and Arnold popped up as a secret/surprise. Since I’m an adult, I usually think party = alcohol, but midway through drawing I thought “ah crap! They’re under aged!!” So now the story is that Arnold picked up a “soda” 🥴 (which is really easy to do now-a-days, with hard seltzers looking like energy drinks a lot of the time).

Anyway, Helga is not fitting in so well, and all of the attention is on Arnold, causing her negative conscience to confirm that she was better off having not sent him her letters. Time did not stop for him the way that it did for her, and he isn’t enthralled in conversation with her like he is with everyone else.

Deciding to skip early to spare herself some emotional damage, Arnold catches her at the door, and is feeling very honest 😉

Unfortunately due to Black Friday (and an unholy amount of emails I have to do for an unholy amount of companies until Friday Nov.24) I wasn’t able to finish all the pieces I planned for the pataki week 😔
