I love your oc and Bumblebee comics. When I first saw your oc singing and sentiment told them to shut up, I immediately thought that your oc and Bee were going to be like Ruby and Safar from Steven universe cause there was a scene like that in the show
The relationship is something like that btw
I kinda relate this song to them

Dear Ranger Rai,
What do you know about the move Secret Power and the Secret Bases it can create? I’ve heard people can make what seems to be pocket dimensions out of this move. Obviously, it can be exploited by people with less than good intentions… The extent of the space created varies between the rumors I have heard across Hoenn. But a few seem to revolve around people being able to grow berries in the dimension if it’s created by skilled Pokemon.
Why I bring this up is that I’ve fallen into a few set up around our Safari Zone. Most are in various states of disarray and generally abandoned. Keyword most. We caught a thief who hid some rare Pokémon eggs in a base. The Wobbufet family has family calmed down thanks to us finding their unborn kids. I just… Want to know what regulations and such are involved pertaining to Secret Power?
Sincerely, a concerned guard of Hoenn’s Safari Zone.
I know that Above Ground Secret Bases are much more popular in Hoenn, but Underground ones are popular here in Sinnoh.
Because Bases are restricted to Underground here, we don't have too many issues with people putting them in places they shouldn't be.
There's a lot of deep tunnels that are well supported, mainly from the Excavation Society run by Roark and his Father Byron.
We are pretty active on the underground goings and are pretty strict on where people can go for bases and exploration.
As for Hoenn, because there's so many trees and Nature integration they discovered that some pokemon could find secluded areas or clear out areas for potential nesting, that's mostly what Secret Power is.
I have done some work out in Hoenn and I asked a bit about Secret Bases and apparently so many of them get abandoned or forgotten that its basically free game.
People make Bases in trees, bushes, near water, and underground, so you could be just walking along and stumble upon several abandoned bases.
Hoenn really needs more regulations on Secret Bases, but since they are using Pokemon to basically create nesting areas in plain site, it's hard to always notice them unless actively searching.
It's really difficult to regulate something like that when it's a natural move for pokemon.
At most, banning the sale of the TM would help but it wouldn't stop people from trying.
There would need to be something like a major deconstruction of unwanted Secret Bases, a limit of how many bases a trainer can have registered to their trainer ID at a time.
Actually I don't even think they are registered so that could be the main issue.
I'd say that if you're having a serious issue, you might need to call your local rangers, ask them to conduct a survey of the area, and if need be, shut down any bases within a certain distance of your Safar Zone.
Also bring it up to any elected officials or anyone in charge and get the word out.

you know why 3 idiots is my favourite movie of all time? i was 3 when i first watched it, in 2009. Now im 16 (2022) and 13 years later it still brings me the same comfort and joy as i watched it the first time.
As a kid i simply loved it because of the humor and the amazing direction and funny dialogues, when i first saw the mv of the song All Izz Well i went REAL crazy, scattering the bed sheets and pillows all over the place. I loved the way it made me laugh and the excitement whenever the song came on.
It made me cry too, about Joy's suicide and Rajus attempt.
I was 4 when i was casted in a school play and had a dance routine with a classmate on the song Zoobi Doobi. You could see me living my best life out there, i was so happy. I didn't care about my partner i was doing my whole thing while the poor guy tried to keep up with me haha.
I watch the movie whenever I'm feeling down and am stuck in a slump, unable to get any shit done. It wraps me in a warm hug as if saying
"do kadam ka yeh safar hai
umar chhoti si dagar hai
ik kadam me ladkhadaya kyu"
And believe it or not this song has saved me on my worst nights where i was on the verge of doing something real terrible.
It has be the most unproblematic film ive ever watched, and discuss so many serious issues under the mist of humor. Such as suicide, family issues, toxic parenting and the oh so many fucked up things in our education system.
It shows how our education system works, if you copy paste word to word from the book, you're a brilliant student. But if you express it in a more of pratical way, in your own words and not straight from the book, then it's just stupid.
Schools don't encourage ideas and innovation, they kill brilliant minds. All they talk about is marks, ranks and grades. Do they help in real life? Fuck no. No one's gonna ask me at a job interview how an induction motor starts for god's sake.
And the fact that people expect so much from their kids, they force THEIR dreams on their children not thinking twice of what the poor kid wants to do. And this is seen in India in MASSES. You either get to choose between an engineer or a doctor, or a lawyer or any form of government civil services. That's it. If anything else, you'll be kicked out periodt
It's truly an amazing movie that is so realistic.
From the story line, to the dialogues, to all the scenes that depict how hard life hits you and to the music. It's perfect.
I love that movie with my entire heart and will never shut up about it fight me.

Conversation
All the broken puzzle pieces
Dr. Ra:
I look over what Tulsix was able to send me overwhelmed, I was so tired but sleeping would just bring on the Infectious nightmare and I'm forced to drug myself further to numb the worms. The worms naturally keep my body functioning so it makes me far more sicker again then if they we're working in there to keep me alive. A few days of constant work on it, visiting the babies for more blood going towards Nala (and Dathan's) poisoning. Checking on Gwen's recovery, hearing Marcellus complain though his condition wasnt as bad as everyone's else. I still had to come to his beck and call. I twitch having been caught walking down the hall to go see test results in another lab. He demanded when Caelus could be treated next. Its been a few days... I still wasnt sure.. it was..ready. I decided not to update the first machine, instead make a new machine. We might need the old machine for .. for..
I try to remember what Infection was left.. somewhere..
I felt so numbed to them now I couldn't even remember.
(Marcellus): "WHEN is Caelus going to be wok-"
(Michael): "You complain more then my granddaughter.." He tisks at Marcellus coming back from visiting Gwen.
(Marcellus): "Michael! Enough games! Where is he!?"
(Michael): "You cant visit him and get infected again you know..."
(Marcellus): "What about Nala.."
(Michael): "There is no point, both are frozen and can not speak to you."
I inch away to the door feeling like I can leave now. Michael stops me to discus the research on the baby's blood. How it seemed to be positively effecting Dathen. I almost got a complement for 'making them'. But he wont give me the credit for improvement and just betrays on about the small amount of hybrid wraith in Dathan did not prove the blood could help Nala. After seeing Marcellus's DNA structure get completely changed he questioned my methods, reminding me Nala had to be RESTORED in a complete and whole manner and not in some botched way.
"Of course sire, yes sire I understand.."
I say trying to blink away any amount of focus of me being here right now.
(Michael): "AND those names.. what we're you thinking?! UGH just get out of my sight and get back to WORK!"
I wake up from my zone out picturing dirt at his scream and dart for the other room.
Sterling came back from the Trydien sector to bitch about the lost General women, Korra being gone for so long meant there is no political puppet to dangle in front of them so he wanted to get her from Tulco but learned from Uriah she was gone.
(Sterling): "Is Gwen the only who can make her hybrid trydien race?! We need those creatures nullified if she cant then give us the Declension Serum. They are just as powerful as Bain Ones."
(Borin): "We dont know if that caused the Infection or not..its dangerous..no one is allowed to use it.."
He shoots me a look and I stand there feeling more pained at them talking about my greatest 'success' / failure.
(Sterling): "We've used it for years, it did not cause that...whats the point of holding those planets if your just going to leave us with it. Isnt your son the 'king' of Ingnitcore then why is it MY problem to keep them from ripping it apart?!"
(Borin): "I dont have the time to set Nash up there if I did I would have taken care of them far better then you can and have. Get out."
(Sterling): "I'm warning you right now, my Prince if you dont act we'll loose it...."
He leaves rather begrudgingly. I guess I cant ask his help on the job, he wont be sticking around if he has to go back there.
(Peli): "I could take Nash..."
(Borin): "No stay away from that little freak..."
He hushed back at her, much to her surprise.
He then yells at me much like Michal about how I'm not doing enough or something and another.
"Its true, I haven't been able to look at Gwen's..results as much dealing with..Caelus's recovery. But I dont see much promise with her memories. You know that."
I add in, knowing he spent all this time on it. My 2nd option wouldnt be much. Well it would be if I told him the truth.. I know that's Perry's venom. So they we're there..so close..
SO. close.
(Borin): ((I think she did it to herself, its VERY selective memory loss..too selective to be natural. OR you did it..I dont believe she could make something I cant crack...))
"And I can?" I cant mindtalk this weak.
(Borin): "I taught her what she knows!" He counters back and hovers back near Gwen who woke up gaging in pain again, hugging herself if that could help the bandages keep her together in more.
I think..what Perry did wasnt meant for her. It was way to strong. He must have loaded it for Bane.. like a nuke.
(Peli): "Its nothing, nothing your stupid father is going to shut up and let you rest.. dont wake up.. go back to sleep baby."
(Gwen): "N..no I.m...o..kay.."
I stare at her trying to make myself feel ok with withholding what I knew about that. Her insides we're probably going to liquify....
*twitch*
I take a deep yet labored breath cause my lungs without the worms keeping healthy feel like a 80 year old man who smoked his way out of a paper bag. The guilt was to much, I grab Gwen's blood samples and take it to a further away lab to try to stop the liquification. I slack off my research on Caelus's cure a few more days to accomplish this. At least the machine was being worked on, it was on a ship so it could be easily thrown into the sun just in case I also wanted the two way transfer to become a one way transfer..somewhere to be destroyed forever but I wasnt sure yet how to accomplish that. Break it into something compacted like dart yet I had a sickening sort of feeling to that for some reason. Then of course there was general transporter error.
Some day *is too drugged out and overworked to know the day of the year details* ;)
I'm on the Infected hive trying not to puke blood in my hazard suit trying to stay in attention for a meeting.
I prattle on my progress of the machine, well the hybrids building it cause I cant really do the manual labor, at least I got out of that. I was however doing the panel's myself that would be installed last by them when the time came.
(Soren): "How much gunk can you put on that one drone?"
"Oh..you'd be surprised how much..."
I couldn't remember now, how many on Xero...
He looks at me disgusted and focuses on the King trying to be very impressive.
(Soren): "Who goes in first?"
(Michael): "I will only risk Caelus's life if I must... if anyone goes in the new machine it will be Julian.."
"Will you allow me to try to break the buffer so there is no sacrifice?"
(Michael): "Do you think that's wise when this is the most important run though..if he turns out human it will be far better then any alternative."
"Of course.."
I try not to panic, I dont want to even imagine what the drone would be like with..all that.
My health decline for the last few days was now too apparent. The King ordered the only Lyratsian he had trusted, Dr. Quasar's specimen clone from the Safar Zoo to look over more calculations for Julian strain machine. Since whatever he did to himself to have infection full control must have went over my head and been some Lysterian secret.
(Quasar): "I am SO honored for another chance your majesty."
(Michal): "Just get on with it.." He shoos her away and I would have liked to see such a famous scientist at work checking the machine but .. passes out smacking into wall on the way down.

Ch 8: Teri Berukhi Se Hai Badi Umar Intezaar Ki Meri
Note for this chapter: We are trying to stay true to the characters in the show and hope we have been successful so far.  That being said, we have used this story to point out some of Arnav's problematic characteristics/behaviours that we thought went unacknowledged or were treated lightly in the show.
Read on below the cut
or on Wattpad: https://www.wattpad.com/754417295-tu-safar-mera-ch-8-teri-berukhi-se-hai-badi-umar
Arnav woke up to an empty room and panicked. He ran downstairs hoping that Khushi hadn't reconsidered her decision to stay for the contract. When he found out that she had, in fact, gone to Laxminagar, he couldn't control his anger. Which, if he was being honest with himself, was mostly fear.
"Khushi!" Arnav shouted as he pushed open the doors of her room in Buaji's house.
"Arnavji?" Khushi looked up, surprised. "Aap yahan kya kar rahe hain?" [What are you doing here?]
"Tum yahan kya kar rahi ho?" [What are you doing here?] he asked, moving towards her.
"Apne parivaar se milne aaye hai, aur kya! Yahan aane ke liye aapse ijaazat leni padegi kya?" [I am here to meet family, what else! Do I have to ask for your permission to come here?]
"Nahi! Par bata ke nahi aa sakti thi?" [No! Why didn't you say you were going?] He was incredulous.
"Bataya toh tha Naniji ko. Aap ko batana humne zaruri nahi samjha." [I told Naniji. I didn't find it important to let you know.] She answered, flippant. Her casual disregard for his place in her life stung.
"Main kitna pareshan ho gaya tha."
[I was really worried.]
"Kyun?"
[Why?]
"Because you're my wife, damnit!" He pulled her closer by her shoulders.
"Hai re Nandkishore!" [Oh lord!] The couple broke apart as Buaji entered the room. "Arnav bitwa, tum kab aaye? Paanch minute bhi apni patni se door naahi reh sake?" [Arnav, when did you come? You couldn't stay away from your wife for five minutes?] She laughed, nudging Khushi with her elbow.
Arnav was saved from responding to that by the landline. Khushi ran out to pick it up.
--
"Hum tumhre liye chai bana det hai. Tum yahi baitho. Naashta naa karke janeka sochna bhi mat." [I am going to make chai for you. You sit here. Don't even think of leaving without breakfast.] Buaji warned as she led Arnav to the dining table and went to the kitchen.
"Chaubees hazaar?!" [Twenty-four thousand?!] Arnav overheard Khushi on the phone.
"Par ek mahine ka kiraaya toh aath hazaar hi hai.... Accha, teen mahine ka... Theek hai, Shuklaji, hum Buaji ko pooch ke bata dete hai." [But the rent for a month is eight thousand... Oh for 3 months... Okay Shuklaji, I will ask Buaji about it.] She put down the phone and headed to the kitchen.
"Kiska phone tha?" [Who was on the phone?] Arnav asked as she passed. Khushi turned around, flustered.
"Kisi ka nahi!"
[No one!]
--
After breakfast, Buaji was determined to send Khushi home with Arnav.
"Kya Buaji aap humse pyaar nahi karti. Hum to aap sabse milne aaye the aur aap hume bhaga rahi hai." [Buaji you don't love me. I came to meet you all and you are throwing me out.]
"Hai re Nandakishore, aye Sankadevi kal hi to mile the godhbarai ke waqat. Vaise bhi Garima aur hum Shashi babua ko aspatal leke jaa rahe hai. Tum yaha akeli kaa karogi?" [Oh lord, we met you yesterday at the baby shower, Sankadevi. Anyway, Garima and I are taking Shashi to the hospital. What will you do here all alone?] Buaji slapped her on the arm.
"Chale?" [Let's go?] Arnav raised an eyebrow, holding back a laugh at Khushi's comically angry expression.
"Hamare paas koi aur chara hai kya?" [Do I have another option?] She grumbled, nose flaring.
In the car, Arnav tried really hard to break the ice but it wasn't his forte. He was used to finding ways of getting her to shut up. This silent treatment was still new territory.
As soon as they reached Shantivan, Khushi jumped out of the car. She had walked halfway across the hall when she realised that she had forgotten her phone. Khushi turned around and promptly walked into Arnav. His hand came up to the small of her back for support. For a second, she lost herself in the comfort of that moment. Then, she protested.
"Chodiye humein." [Leave me.]
Arnav pulled her closer. "Kyun?" [Why?] Khushi grabbed her phone from his hand.
"Bas jaane dijiye humein!" [Just let me go!] she said as she pushed him away, storming off upstairs.
NK watched this scene, concerned. Arnav was in great need of his romantic expertise.
"Nannav, mere bhai!" [Nannav, my brother!] he called out to him, "Kya kiya tumne? Why was Khushiji so angry?" [What did you do? Why was Khushiji so angry?]
"Nothing. It's fine." Arnav said as sat back on the sofa next to NK.
"Come on! You should tell me. I can help you! Hum hai toh kya dum hai!" [If I am there then why be force?] NK leaned forward. Arnav looked at him from the corner of his eye.
"'Dum' nahi, 'gham'." [Not 'force,' 'sad'.] Arnav corrected. He was skeptical of NK's ability to be helpful. Then, he decided that there was nothing to lose. "She is angry because I shouted at her for going to Laxminagar this morning without informing me."
"Very bad, Nannav!" NK reprimanded, shaking his finger at Arnav.
"Yes, I know. That's not helpful."
"You should buy her a gift and say sorry!" NK jumped up like he had just had the best idea in the world.
"Ek gift se kaam nahi hoga. That's not enough." [A gift won't do it. That's not enough.] Arnav said.
"Kyun? Khushiji toh kitni sweet hai. She'll definitely forgive you."
[Why? Khushiji is so sweet. She'll definitely forgive you.]
"It's not that simple." Arnav whispered, mostly to himself. But, he realised, it was important for NK to know the full truth to actually be able to help. So he told him about the contract marriage and his misunderstanding and Khushi's refusal to accept him as her husband.
"I don't blame her! How could you?" NK was furious. He stood up as if to leave.
"I don't blame her either!" Arnav said, "I regret everything I have done. I just want to make it up to her. I want us to spend the rest of our lives together."
"I'm only going to help you because I know that Khushiji also cares about you." NK sat on the sofa again to think.
"Idea!" NK snapped his fingers. "You should recreate the special moments of you relationship! Trust me, Nannav, this method is foolproof!"
"That doesn't sound like such a bad idea. Thanks, NK" Arnav said. It was definitely worth a shot. He walked to his room, already making a mental list of their "special" moments.
--
Khushi was sitting on the threshold of the french windows, facing the pool. She was eating channa while complaining aloud about Arnav.
"Samajhte kya hai woh apne aap ko?" [What does he think of himself?]
"Tumhara pati." [Your husband.] Arnav's voice intruded. Khushi turned around to glare at him and promptly stood up to leave. Arnav grabbed her wrist as she brushed past him.
Next thing she knew, she'd been whirled around, arm bent at the elbow, wrist being held in an unbreakable grip at her lower back.
"Yeh kya kar rahe hai aap?" [What are you doing?] she gasped, looking up at Arnav.
He ran his free hand across her back, shifting her hair to one shoulder.
"Tumhe kuch yaad dilane ki koshish kar raha hoon," [Trying to remind you of something,] he whispered into her ear.
He slid his hand back across the string of her kurta and untied it.
"Kuch yaad aaya?" [Remembered something?]
Khushi's mind flashed to the day they first met. His vice-like grip on her wrist, the feeling of her blouse's string being broken, the clatter of the pearls as they fell to the floor. She felt the same terror she had felt then at having been made so vulnerable and unsafe.
"Aap badtameezi kar rahe hai!" [You're manhandling me!] She pushed him and broke free. Arnav noticed the way she cradled her wrist against her chest, gingerly feeling her bruise. He reached for her injured hand. Khushi jerked away.
"Dard deke humdardi jatane ki aadat ho gayi hai aapko! Isse behtar hoga ki aap dard dene se phele ek baar soch le. Woh manhoos din yaad dilana chahte hai jisne hamari zindagi uthal-puthal kar di. Kya haasil karna chahte the hame chot pahuncha kar? Boliye!"
[You've made a habit out of hurting me and then showing your sympathy! Wouldn't it be better if you didn't cause pain in the first place? You want to remind me of that dark day that turned my life upside-down? What did you hope to achieve by hurting me? Tell me!]
She waited for an answer despite the tears threatening to overwhelm her.
"Khushi, I'm..." Arnav wasn't able to do much more than stare back at her.
"Rehne dijiye." [Let it be.] She left the room.
An overenthusiastic NK walked in, completely unable to read the room.
"Nannav, mere bhai! Was it successful?" [Nannav, my brother! Was it successful?]
"It failed. Completely." A dejected Arnav answered. It dawned on him that he would have never done this and upset Khushi so much if it hadn't been for NK's plan.
"Sab tumhari galti hai!" [It's all your fault.] he shouted, storming towards NK.
"What?" NK asked from the corner he was cowered in. But his question was lost in Arnav's continued rant.
"I should've never listened to you! What was I thinking? Taking advice from you!"
"Bhai!" Akash appeared in the form NK personal superhero. "Kya hua? Kyun chilla rahe hai aap? Aur neeche Khushiji jalebiya kyun bana rahi hai? [What happened? Why are you shouting? And why is Khushiji making jalebis downstairs?]
"Khushi jalebi bana rahi hai?" [Khushi is making jalebis?] Arnav said, immediately shifting into concerned mode.
"Nannav lekin hua kya hai?" [Nannav, but what happened?] NK was finally able to ask.
"Tumne kahan special moments recreate karo toh maine wahi kiya. But it backfired. She got really upset." [You said to recreate "special moments" and that's what I did. But it backfired. She got really upset.] Arnav answered.
"Kaunsa moment recreate kiya?" [What moment did you recreate?] Akash asked, leading Arnav to the recliner so he could calm down.
"Our first meeting." Arnav explained the details. "NK you said that this method was foolproof!"
"Not for such a big fool." Akash murmured. Arnav shot him a glare.
"Sorry, bhai! Plan achha tha par uska execution galat tha. Waise aap yeh sab kar kyun rahe ho?" [Sorry. The plan was good but the execution was bad.] Akash looked to Arnav for answers who, in turn, looked to NK.
"Akash deserves to know." NK said. Arnav took a deep breath and told Akash the entire convoluted history of his marriage.
"Aapne yeh sab kaise kar diya, Bhai!? How could you use my marriage to blackmail Khushiji? Aap...aap sach mein mujhe aur Payal ko alag kar dete?" [How could you do this!? How could you use my marriage to blackmail Khushiji? You... you would really separate me and Payal?] Akash was furious.
"Of course not! I just pretended that I would separate you. Tumhari khushi sabse important hai. I know I hurt her and I'm sorry for that. Ab main apni galtiyan sudharne ki koshish kar raha hoon. But apparently I keep screwing it up."
["Of course not! I just pretended that I would separate you. Your happiness is most important to me. I know I hurt her and I'm sorry for that. Now I'm trying to make up for my mistakes. But apparently I keep screwing it up.] Arnav said.
"Okay, bhai. Hum aapki help kar denge. Sabse pehle, aapko apne "special moments" theek se choose karne hoge."
[Okay. We will help you. First, you have to carefully select the "special moments".]
"Exactly!" NK chimed in. "Apne dangerous moments mat recreate karna!" [Don't recreate your dangerous moments!]
"Kuch romantic socho, Bhai." [Think of something romantic, Bhai] Akash added, "Jab maine Payal ko pehli baar propose kiya toh maine aisa hi kuch kiya tha. Aap aise moments recreate karo jab aisa laga tha ki duniya main aap dono ke alawa koi bhi nahi hai. Jab aapki dhadkan aapke saason se tez ho gayi." [When I proposed to Payal for the first time, I did something similar. You should recreate the moments when it felt like you two were the only people in the world. When your heartbeats were faster than your breath.]
"Wah, Akash bhai, wah!" [Wow, Akash bhai, wow!] NK applauded him with a slow clap. Arnav nodded, taking in every word.
There was a knock on the door. Payal entered saying, "Aapki kitty party ho gayi ho toh neeche dinner ke liye aa jaiye. Sab intezaar kar rahe" [If your kitty party has ended, come downstairs to have dinner. Everyone is waiting.] They all shuffled out.
--
Everyone went to their rooms after dinner but Khushi stayed back in the kitchen. Arnav didn't mind because this gave him time to work on his plan.
It was quite late when Khushi came up.
"Achha hua so gaye," [Good. He fell asleep,] she mumbled. She changed and got into bed, falling asleep quickly.
On the recliner, Arnav turned over so he could see Khushi. He had hurt her again today. Despite having promised that he would never do that again. Her words from that afternoon came back to him.
Aap badtameezi kar rahe hai! Dard deke humdardi jatane ki aadat ho gayi hai aapko! Isse behtar hoga ki aap dard dene se phele ek baar soch le. Woh manhoos din yaad dilana chahte hai jisne hamari zindagi uthal-puthal kar di. Kya haasil karna chahte the hame chot pahuncha kar?
[You're manhandling me! You've made a habit out of hurting me and then showing sympathy! Wouldn't it be better if you didn't cause pain in the first place? You want to remind me of that dark day that turned my life upside-down? What did you hope to achieve by hurting me?]
He had hurt her at every turn. And not even realised it. How many times had he left bruises on her? Had ignored her pain? No more. He would fill her life with so many joys she would never need to think about the terrible memories again.
--
The next morning, Khushi suddenly sat up in bed.
"Hey Devi Maiyya, Arnav Singh Raizada ke chakkar mein hum Buaji ko kiraye ke baare mein poochna toh bhul hi gaye!"
[Hey Devi Maiyya! I completely forgot to ask Buaji about the rent because of this Arnav Singh Raizada!]
She called her aunt and found out that the three months' rent had been paid in full by the very same Arnav Singh Raizada.
She knocked repeatedly on the bathroom door.
"Arnavji! Bahar aaiye! Humein aapse baat karni hai!"
[Arnavji! Come out! I need to talk to you!]
"Khushi, lekin—" [Khushi, but—]
"Nahi! Abhi bahar aaiye." [No! Come out now!] A knock punctuated every word. She paced around the room, then came back to the door, hand raised. And walked straight into Arnav.
He had stepped out of the shower in a hurry, only a towel wrapped around his waist. Time froze.
"Khushi, tum theek ho na?" [Khushi, are you okay?] Arnav asked.
She was too lost to respond. There was only this: the feel of his shoulder under her hand, heartbeat loud in her ears, the water dripping slowly from his hair, and all the space that wasn't between them.
"Tumhe kuch baat karni thi?" [You wanted to say something to me?] He reminded, smiling. He shook her by the shoulders to break her out of the trance.
"Haan?" [Yeah?] She looked into his eyes, then down again. She stepped back, shaking her head as if to clear out the intruding thoughts.
"Aapne Buaji ke ghar ka kiraya kyun diya? Kis haq se? Kisne kaha the aapko?" [Why did you pay the rent for Buaji's house? With what right? Who told you to?] Her anger made a fast recovery.
"Khushi, it's not a big deal." Arnav was still smiling.
"Big deal hai! Humein aapka koi ehsaan nahi chahiye." [It is a big deal! I don't need any favours from you.]
"Ehsaan?" [Favours?] Now he was angry, too. "Maine rent diya kyunki main uss ghar ka damaad hoon. Buaji aur woh ghar mere liye bhi kuch maine rakhte hai. Tumhare husband hone ke haq se maine rent pay kiya. Yeh responsibility hum dono ki hai." [I paid the rent because I am the son-in-law of that house. Buaji and that house mean something to me, too. I paid the rent because I am your husband. We share that responsibility.]
"Nahi hai. Aur kitni baar bolna padega ki hum aapko apna pati nahi maante?"
[We don't. How many more times do I have to tell you that I don't consider you my husband?]
"Manogi." [You will.] Arnav's confidence let him smile at her again before he turned and walked back into the bathroom.

The Yazidis, who were recently the target of massacre, rape and sex slavery by Isis, are now facing forcible conversion to Islam under the threat of death from Turkish-backed forces which captured the Kurdish enclave of Afrin on 18 March. Islamist rebel fighters, who are allied to Turkey and have occupied Yazidi villages in the area, have destroyed the temples and places of worship the Kurdish-speaking non-Islamic sect according to local people.
Shekh Qamber, a 63-year-old Syrian Kurdish Yazidi farmer who fled his town of Qastel Jindo in Afrin, described in an exclusive interview with The Independent what happened to Yazidis who refused to leave their homes. He said that some were forcibly brought to a mosque by Islamists to be converted, while others, including a 70-year-old man he knew, were being lured there by offers of food and medical attention.
Even the place names of Yazidi villages are being changed. Mr Qamber recounted a conversation he had with an Islamist militant who had arrested and questioned him near the town of Azaz when he was trying to escape. He was asked by his interrogator where he was from and he replied that he was from Qastel Jindo. The Islamist, whose groups often describe themselves as belonging to the Free Syrian Army (FSA), said: “it’s no more Qastel Jindo. It’s al-Quds now. We will give it the name of Palestine’s capital. These areas were occupied by the infidels and now it is [going] back to their original owners and original names ... We came here to regain our lands and behead you.”
Mr Qamber recalls that he replied to this threat to kill him by a saying that what would happen would be by god’s will. His interrogator responded: “Shut up! You are infidel. Do you really know or believe in god?” Mr Qamber said that believed in one god and soon after he was released because, he believes, he was old and sick. He eventually found his way to the main Kurdish enclave in northeast Syria which is protected by the People’s Protection Units (YPG) backed by US airpower and 2,000 US troops.
There are frequent reports that many of the Sunni Arab fighters in the FSA, who are under the command of the Turkish military, are former members of Isis and al-Qaeda. In their own videos, they describe the existing Kurdish population as infidels, using slogans and phrases normally associated with al-Qaeda.
Mr Qamder says that the majority of the people in villages around Qastel Jindo, which fell early during the Turkish invasion that began on 20 January, are Yazidis. He says that some villagers fled, but others risked staying because they did not want to lose their houses and lands. These who remained were later “taken to the mosque and given lessons in Islamic prayer”.
In addition, there were “there were temples and Yazidi worship houses, but all have been blown up and destroyed by the militants after they entered the village”. The Yazidi religion is a mixture of beliefs drawn from Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
Mr Qamber said he had spoken to people from the Yazidi villages of Burj Abdalo, Basufane, Faqira, and Tirende and they all said “the militants are teaching the Yazidis the Islamic prayer”.
Mr Qander puts part of the blame for what is happening on his own people who returned to their homes after the initial advance of Turkish army and its Arab auxiliaries. He says that they ought to have known better, going by the terrible fate of the Yazidis in Sinjar [Shingal in Kurdish] in northern Iraq in August 2014 when it was overrun by Isis. He asks: “Why don’t they learn from the experiences of Shingal where the Yazidi women were taken as sex slaves and our dignity and honour taken?”
Asked about the present concerns of the Yazidis, many of whom are in refugee camps in northern Syria and Iraq, Mr Qamber said that after the defeat of Isis as a territorial entity they “expected that the Turks will attack us, either directly as they did before in Turkey in the 1970s, or indirectly using their allied Islamist Jihadi groups, like Daesh [Isis] or other groups like the so-called Free Syrian Army”.
Only a limited amount information has been coming out about conditions in Afrin since it was finally captured by the Turkish army and its Arab allies on 18 March. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in its latest report on the Afrin crisis on 16 April says that 137,000 individuals have been displaced from Afrin, while 150,000 remain there, of whom 50,000 are in Afrin City and 100,000 in the countryside. It says that the movement of people is heavily restricted and many who want to return to their homes are not being allowed to pass through checkpoints, which, though it does not identify who is in charge of them, must mean the Turkish military or their Arab auxiliaries inside Afrin, since they are the only authority there.
Reports by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), widely seen as neutral or pro-opposition, citing multiple sources in Afrin confirm Mr Qamber’s account of sectarian and ethnic cleansing by the Turkish army and its Arab allies. It says that it has reliable information that ‘the resettlement of the displaced people of Eastern Ghouta in the Afrin area is still continuing.’ It says that Abdul Nasser Shamir, the military commander of Faylaq al-Rahman, one of the most important armed groups previously fighting the Syrian government in Eastern Ghouta, has been settled along with his top commanders in a town in Afrin.
Other displaced people from Eastern Ghouta are being moved into houses from which their Kurdish inhabitants have fled and are not being allowed to return according to SOHR. It says that refugees from Eastern Ghouta object to what is happening , saying they do not want to settle in Afrin, “where the Turkish forces provide them with houses owned by people displaced from Afrin”.
The Eastern Ghouta refugees say they resent being the instrument of “an organised demographic change” at the behest of Turkey which would, in effect, replace Kurds with Arabs in Afrin. They say they reject this plan, just as they reject any demographic change orchestrated  by the Syrian government and Russia in their own home region of Eastern Ghouta, where shelling killed about 1,800 civilians and injured some 6,000. The SOHR notes that the ethnic cleansing  by Turkey of Afrin is being carried out “amid a media blackout” and and is being ignored internationally.
The Yazidi Kurds fear that the slaughter and enslavement they endured at the hands of Isis in Sinjar in 2014 might happen again. Mr Qamber is living safely with his wife Adula Mahmoud Safar to the east of Qamishli, the de facto capital of Rojava as the Kurds call their territory in north east Syria. But he is pessimistic about the future, expecting Turkey to invade the rest of Rojava.
He says that many Turkish officials say that “if the Kurds live in a tent in Africa, that tent should be destroyed”. He adds that because the Turks and their Arab allies see the Yazidis as both infidels and Kurds, they are the doubly jeopardised and will be the biggest losers in any future war waged by Turkey against the Kurds.

Tony Stark from Marvel Cinematic Universe
Ok my little darlings, time for a love story! So the year was 2013. Anybody remember how everyone at some point have gone through a one direction phase? I was in that phase at that time. I didn't know about tumblr,or wattpad but only Quotev. So that's the one I used. I was reading a 1D fanfic when I came across an Avengers one. Keep in mind I hadn't watched a single marvel movie and I WAS READING FANFICTION FOR IT. Crazy me as always. Days went on I read more and more about it. This Tony character was really interesting so snarky and sassy. So I decided to google him. And I was left speechless. Still didn't watch the movie, till Star World premiered it and showed it like once a day. It was then that I watched him and I fell even more in love. To this day I remember all Avengers dialogues because I have watched it that many times. Long Story short I did not fall in love with Tony Stark the hottie, I fell in love with his personality.

Zubiya Khalil and Asfandyar.
The furrow of his eyebrows and taking off his glasses when he gets to know about the treatment Zubiya received from her so-called family. When he’s finally connecting the dots behind her “attraction and infatuation”, her small laugh when she mocked their “muhabbat” and now he understood. He finally understood, maybe not completely but he had a good idea. His hand on her closed file - he didn’t care about her past. In the quiet hours of the night, he made that statement to himself. Now he only needed to let Zubiya know. His restlessness, the pacing under the moonlight, thinking back to everything she went through and the aftermath. The humiliating words used for purity that Asfandyar’s Zubiya was. The way he looked up to the sky; as if asking God why she had to go through everything that she had. The slight sheen of tears in his eyes, just by thinking about what his Zubiya went through. •• “Abhi rehne dein.” He wants to give Zubiya the time she needs. He doesn’t want to pressurise her into accepting him. He wants to ease her into his life. To help her let go of her demons before she’s consumed by them. Asfi shutting his eyes tightly when Gaiti tried to question him - he couldn’t bear the thought of Zubiya being hurt, humiliated and abandoned. It’s a wonder how Zubiya managed. •• “Unko mere office mein bulana.” Her past and her future were colliding and she couldn’t help but instinctively hide from both of them. That’s what Zubiya was all about - her present. She didn’t want anything but her present. But now her present was affected and influenced by both her unforgettable past and beautiful future. Zubiya’s demons had been quietened but now they were back; screeching and roaring. Her shudder at the possibility of them colliding spoke volumes about it. The teary eyes, worried glances, her fidgeting hands, fast walk, rubbing her heart to ease the pain. The moment she took off her coat - her profession - it threw her back into her unforgettable past. She wasn’t Doctor Zubiya now, she was the sixteen year old Zubiya. •• “Ghalat fehmiyan” is too trivial a word for everything she went through at your hands, Rehan. But she did. And yet she tried to move on - the way her parents wanted. Asfandyar looking away from Rehan and the way he glared at him at the same time. He didn’t want Rehan and himself sitting in the same room. He didn’t want his Zubiya anywhere near her failed brother. Asfi looked livid while Asfandyar tried to keep it together. When he got in his car and opened his shirt buttons as if he couldn’t deal with the doom that was coming his way. Everything was enough for him. The tragedy which was her life, apologies from her good-for-nothing brother, his worry for her. He didn’t want to bear this anymore. ••
There was no Doctor Zubiya. It was just Zubiya. Even when Asfi called out, there was no recognition on her face. She was just gone. And Asfi, no matter how fast he ran he couldn’t catch up. Even though he knew what she went through, he really didn’t. She was far ahead of him; she had lost too much and gained nothing. Her faith mattered to her. Her Allah mattered so much to her but this was Doctor Zubiya’s faith. The one who jumped off the cliff was the sixteen-year old Zubiya. His hand on her injured one. His assurance that he will always be there for her - he accepts her as she is; broken, battered and beautiful. His ruffled shirt. Hollowed eyes. Heartbroken face. Choked expression. His shaking fingers. Asfandyar himself was breaking apart. •• “Ya Allah, mein tujhse Zubiya ki zindagi ki bheek mangta hun.” Zubiya and Asfandyar both learned to believe, learned to have faith in their Allah. “Usse kuch na ho, wo zinda rahe. Or kisi apne ko nahi khosakta.” His broken expression on the last phrase - Asfi wouldn’t be able to put himself together if he lost another beloved. “Iss larki ne zindagi mein bohot dukh uthaye - tu usse zindagi de de.” And now he’ll make sure Zubiya lives; she doesn’t survive alone but lives her life with him. “Usse khushiyaan de de. Mein usse haste muskrate dekhna chahta Hun.” He knows what she’s been through. He knows what it felt to have lost someone; he lost his brother. But Zubiya? She lost herself. “Ya Allah mujhe meri Zubiya zinda lauta de.” Because Zubiya isn’t alone anymore. He’ll always be with her. ‪Love is prayer. And Asfi knows how to love. Irrevocably and completely.‬ ‪••‬
‪Asfandyar is so disgusted by Rehan that he can’t even look at him. He’s absolutely livid.‬ ‪Asfandyar is hurt, proud of his love, and in love with her - all at the same time. And he understands. He finally understands her. ‬ ‪That seat of Zubiya’s; the thought of her not occupying that place was tearing his heart apart. ‬ ‪Seeing her alive himself, witnessing her looking at him; it was too much for him. His prayers were answered. And he had to physically hold on to something just to support himself. ‬ ‪But he couldn’t control his tears. How could he? He was overwhelmed with gratitude, with love, with pain. ‬ ‪••‬ ‪“I’m sorry.”‬ ‪It wasn’t just to him. It was to her faith too. Her faith both in Asfandyar and Allah.‬ ‪“Bas itna trust tha mujh pe?” ‬ ‪He trusted her. But her trust needed a strong base so it isn’t broken again. He was so overcome with grief that he didn’t realise her trust had been broken too many times; she had been broken too many times. ‬ ‪“Tum mujhe sach batao gi or mein tumhe chor doon ‬ga?” Asfi has always been there for her; he never abandoned her, always stood up and protected her, loved her, supported her. But her heart was too beaten up to believe again. Even him. “Mein aapke kaabil nahi hoon.” If only we stop becoming the judge and the executor. ‪“Mujhe koi farq nahi parta.” She wanted to hear this. She needed to hear this. The realisation that he loved and respected her without reason; unconditionally and irrevocably. ‬ ‪“Tumse shikayat hai, thora naraz hoon, Or tum se bohot pyaar karta hoon.”‬ ‪The power of love is mighty - it eventually overcomes all the obstacles.‬ ‪“Or apni zindagi tumhare saath guzaarna chahta hoon.”‬ ‪All her life, everyone kicked her out of their lives. And now in front of her, there was a beautiful man confessing his undying love for her and wanting to be with her for all his life.‬ ‪“Mein hun tumhare saath.”‬ ‪And to prove his point, he put his arms around her, assuring her that he will always be there. In any way she needs him to be, he will be there. ‬ ‪He is here now. He was there then. He will be with her later. ‬ ‪••‬
‪[Ahad, Sajal, Farhat Ishtiaq and the whole‬ ‪YKS team‬ ‪- thank‬ ‪you for Asfandyar, Zubiya and yaqeen ka safar. The beauty of the characters and the show will forever‬ ‪be unparalleled.]‬

Major Air Pollutants Down By 50 Percent In Delhi Due To COVID-19 Lockdown
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A general view shows cleaner water of the Yamuna river during nationwide lockdow, in New Delhi
New Delhi:
With vehicles off the road and industries shut due to the ongoing lockdown imposed to combat the coronavirus outbreak, the presence of major pollutants in the air — PM2.5, PM10 and NOx — has reduced by at least 50 per cent in Delhi.
The three pollutants — PM2.5 (atmospheric particulate matter that have a diameter of less than 2.5 micrometers), PM10 (atmospheric particulate matter that have a diameter of less than 10 micrometers) and NOx (nitrogen oxide released in traffic emissions) — are some of the most dangerous pollutants and prolonged exposure to these can lead to serious respiratory disorders.
According to an analysis by the central government-run System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the highest reduction in these three pollutants have been seen in Delhi.
The other cities where a similar analysis was done by SAFAR was Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad.
India is currently under the biggest lockdown with around 1.3 billion people asked to stay home in view of the coronavirus outbreak, which has claimed over 100 lives and infected more than 4,000 people in the country.
Under the lockdown, industries have been shut and people have been urged to avoid unnecessary travelling, significantly reducing the traffic movement across the country.
In Delhi, the comparison made from the second week of March (before lockdown) to first week of April (April 6), reduction in PM2.5 was found to be by 62 per cent, PM10 by 57 per cent and NOx by 50 per cent, the latest SAFAR data accessed by PTI showed.
In Mumbai, the comparison in the same period showed a reduction in PM2.5 by 45 per cent, PM10 by 51 per cent and NOx by 60 per cent, the data showed.
In Pune, a reduction in PM2.5 by 31 per cent, PM10 by 32 per cent and NOx by 62 per cent, according to the data.
In Ahmedabad, a reduction in PM2.5 by 57 per cent, PM10 by 47 per cent and NOx by 32 per cent, according to the data.
Environmentalists have said these figures prove that the most air pollution is man made.
“Meteorology at this time of the year assures us of lower pollution compared to winter months but this year, the lockdown has added to met factors. These three pollutants — NOx, PM2.5 and PM10 — are mainly generated from vehicular combustion and road traffic, especially NOx,” said environmentalist Jyoti Pande Lavakare, who is also the co-founder of Care for Air NGO.
“Less traffic on the road means less generation of road dust (which creates PM10),” she said.
Lavakare said there is a need to learn from this and choose the priorities.
“Health must be a priority. I hope people realise this going forward. Otherwise we will be back to square one – inhaling toxic air daily and dying a slow death by breath,” Lavakare, whose upcoming book ”Breathing Here is Injurious To Your Health” deals with the human cost of air pollution.
Jai Dhar Gupta, environmentalist and founder of Nirvana Being that sells masks and purifiers to combat pollution, said humans need to figure out if they wish to go back to the normal that was there before or find a more sustainable normal.
“This has been a fantastic wake-up call and I think we had a reality check and we need to figure out a new normal. This is an opportunity, a chance to find a new sustainable life,” he said.

With a nationwide lockdown in place, over 90 cities, including Delhi, recorded minimal air pollution in the last few days.
Welcoming the reduction in pollution, environmentalists urged the government to treat it as a "wake-up call" and stop its "obsession" with "development" at the cost of the environment.
India is currently under the biggest lockdown with around 130 crore people asked to stay home in view of the coronavirus outbreak, which has claimed 19 lives and infected over 900 people in the country.
The government has urged people to avoid unnecessary travelling, significantly reducing the traffic movement across the country.
According to the Centre-run System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the impact of the measures taken due to the coronavirus outbreak has resulted in a drop in PM2.5 (fine particulate pollutant) by 30 per cent in Delhi and by 15 per cent in Ahmedabad and Pune.
ALSO READ: Coronavirus LIVE: PM to speak on Mann Ki Baat, explain 21-day lockdown
The level of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) pollution, which can increase the risk of respiratory conditions, has also reduced. NOx pollution is mainly caused due to a high motor vehicle traffic. In Pune, NOx pollution has reduced by 43 per cent, in Mumbai, by 38 per cent and in Ahmedabad, by 50 per cent.
Gufran Beig, a scientist at SAFAR, said generally in March, pollution is in the "moderate" category (Air Quality Index range: 100-200) while presently, it is in the "satisfactory" (AQI 50-100) or "good" (AQI 0-50) category.
"It is the lockdown impact. Local factors like shutting down of industries and construction and traffic have contributed in improving the air quality. Rain is also helping, but the curbs on local emissions are playing a significant role," he said.
Under the "good" category, pollution is considered to be at the lowest and the air is believed to be the healthiest to breathe.
According to the data of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality in the national capital is presently in the "good" category. In Kanpur, which has high pollution levels, it is in the "satisfactory" category. Moreover,92 other cities with CPCB monitoring centres have recorded minimal air pollution, with the air quality in the range of "good" to "satisfactory".

View image on Twitter 22 10:22 AM - Mar 28, 2020 Twitter Ads info and privacy See Central Pollution Control Board's other Tweets As many as 39 cities have recorded "good" air quality and 51 cities have recorded "satisfactory" air quality in the last few days, the CPCB data showed.
An AQI between 0-50 is considered good, 51-100 satisfactory, 101-200 moderate, 201-300 poor, 301-400 very poor and 401-500 severe.
Environmentalists believe that the reduced pollution levels should act as a wake-up call for the government.
Jyoti Pande Lavakare, co-founder, Care for Air NGO, said the low AQI and the blue skies proved beyond doubt that a lot of the polluted air was "anthropomorphic, that is, man-made".
"Obviously, slowing down the economy to such a degree is not the ideal way to bring down air pollution, but at least it proves that it can be done. We can achieve the same outcome by doing this mindfully, using technology and low-emission alternatives," she said.
Lavakare emphasised on the need to realise that air pollution weakens the lungs, so countries like India with higher pollution and lower nutrition levels will be more affected by COVID-19, and morbidity and deaths are likely to be higher.
Ravina Kohli, environmentalist and part of the #MyRightToBreathe campaign, said it was a "huge wake-up call" for governments obsessed with development at the cost of the environment.
"We the people are the problem. Our communication on solutions now also includes how to reduce pollution at a personal level by being able to understand our behaviour and its consequences on our environment.
"For the first time, I believe our present generation will discover the critical importance and need for a focus on public health and the quality of air we breathe," she said.
Jai Dhar Gupta, environmentalist and founder of Nirvana Being that sells masks and purifiers to combat pollution, said humans need to figure out if they wish to go back to the normal that was there before or find a more sustainable normal.
"This has been a fantastic wake-up call and I think we had a reality check and we need to figure out a new normal. This is an opportunity, a chance to find a new sustainable life," he said.

Yousuf x Zulekha: Tu mera nahin, Kyun mera nahin?
First off, a thousand thanks to @vishwaspur for suggesting Mera Naam Yousuf Hain to me.  And to think that I would’ve spent my entire life and died without watching this drama *shudders at the thought*.
There is so much to like, appreciate and love in this drama comprising of 20 episodes. I don’t have the words or the talent to do justice to how much I loved this show. But let me try.
Thanks to my dissatisfaction with Yakeen ka Safar, which is no one’s fault but mine, because I was fooled into believing it is a love story, I had to find a serial which satisfies the feels. I got that and much more in MNYH.
Where to start? Okay, honest confession, I had absolutely zero idea about the epic love story of Yousuf Zulekha, and I kept wondering in the first episode why was it important to Yousuf that Zulekha’s name was Zulekha? So, I had to read up a bit on it to find out. Honestly speaking, Yousuf’s side of the love story is very simple. He heard the name Zulekha, thought she was meant to be, and in two meetings he fell in love. And soon that love transformed into Mohabbat. But what if Zulekha’s name was not Zulekha?
This is a question that bugged Zulekha. In Zulekha, I’ve met perhaps the most relatable heroine till date. Relatable because she asks the same question that I’ve always wondered: Mohabbat kya hain? Zulekha keeps asking herself this question till the very end, and that is the best thing about the love story. I think I’m past that phase in my life where I could be just satisfied with a cheesy love story (unless of course its starring SRK). Recently, I wrote about how I was dissatisfied with Rikara’s love story because Gauri has no reason to fall in love with Omkara.
Zulekha keeps questioning herself till the end, whether what she is feeling for Yousuf is mohabbat, whether its the mohabbat which he deserves and whether its the end all, be all, and she can’t survive without him or not. She is not testing Yousuf, she has full faith in him, she is testing herself, and thats what I liked in this love story, it is Zulekha’s story and she is consciously aware of that fact. “Kabhi sochti hu tumse pyaar karti hu, phir kabhi sochti hu tumpe pyaar aa raha hai”
This is however, not a story of Mohabbat only. Its more a story about three women standing up for their right to choose. I love how the story explores the omnipresent issue of women’s freedom through organic, realistic stories. Starting with my favorite character in the story (apart from Zulekha), Aafiya begum, Zulekha’s mother. The first ten episodes of this serial are light and fun, and strongly reminded me of Pride and Prejudice. The manner in which Aafiya plays off her husband’s wishes, takes a stand for herself within the boundaries drawn for her, and ultimately, frees herself of her shackles is admirable. What is more admirable is her sass. Uff! No one, and I repeat no one in the world of serials, can match Aafiya’s killer snark and sarcasm. She is officially my queen of saas.
Since, this is Zulekha’s journey, her curiosity and experiments in finding love, and the fight for her freedom is well shown. What is also well done is Madiha’s story of unrequited love. Madiha is not an epitome of sacrifice, neither is she is the psycho vamp. She is the in-between and the most realistic depiction of one-sided love I’ve seen after Nisha from Dil Toh Paagal Hain. Madiha will do everything for Yousuf because she loves him. She might be selfish too. She will also question Zulekha and her fate, that what has Zulekha done to deserve Yousuf. At the same time, she does not agree to be Yousuf’s second option. Because if you love someone with so much shiddat as Madiha does, then you expect the same in return, and Madiha will settle for no less. And like Zulekha she will too, go to any extent to see whether she will get that Mohabbat in return or not.
Coming back to Zulekha, her story is a fight against her father who represents the chains placed upon women, and her refusal to be a pawn in someone else’s game. And she continues this fight till the end. Nikkah or no nikkah doesn’t matter to Zulekha, what matters is her choice, and whether she will be able to respect the man she is married to. I should probably mention, that this is the first Pak drama, where the concept of consummation is discussed so openly. In all the other Pak dramas I’ve seen, it is assumed that if they are married, and once the door shuts, they have had sex. While the delinking of sex and marriage in Pak dramas is realistic, it also slightly abhorrent to think that the ML and FL may not even like each other but they’ve slept with each other. In this matter, I prefer Indian dramas, where consummation is born out of affection, though I hate the hype surrounding it.
Zulekha is confused, and that is as it should be. Is she in love with Yousuf because he got beaten up for her? Is she in love with Yousuf because he can do anything for her? Or can she fall in love with anyone provided that person respects her? Is love so fickle? Zulekha’s approach to love is practical and methodical, which a perfect match to Yousuf’s love-at-first-sight.
The intensity in Yousuf’s love shook me. After so long, I’ve seen a male lead whose actions justifies the word ‘Mohabbat’. Its not pyaar, or love, it is ‘Mohabbat’ because mohabbat is the only irrational feeling which listens to no one and bows to no one, except the lover. Yousuf would have gone to any extent for Zulekha, Nikkah doesn’t matter, but what matters is what Zulekha’s wishes. If she wants to walk away from Yousuf, if she thinks Madiha is more deserving of Yousuf’s love, then Yousuf will bow his head to her wishes.
Ultimately, MNYH is a story of Yousuf’s undying ishq, Zulekha’s quest for Mohabbat, her journey to freedom, to questioning society’s morals but not by becoming a baaghi or bhagodi, but facing the society upfront, and eventually letting the heart get what it wants. If fate does not allow two people to meet, then 25 years later, fate also united two people, even if they try to defy fate, ‘cos they are fated to meet.

Delhi, north India reel under intense cold wave, spell to continue till New Year - delhi news

Delhi woke up to a chilly morning on Thursday as a severe cold wave swept through entire northern India with a forecast of a likely cold or severe cold day conditions for the next five days in many states. The Capital, which is experiencing the longest cold wave in December in 22 years, recorded a “severe” cold day on Wednesday with the maximum temperature dropping to 12.7º Celsius, nine degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was 6ºC, two degrees below normal. The minimum temperature on Wednesday night was recorded at 6 degrees Celsius and the weather bureau said it was 7 degrees Celsius at 5:30 am on Thursday.Since 1993, Delhi has had a cold spell only in four years—1997, 1998, 2003, and 2014.Most stations in Delhi, except Safdarjung, have recorded a cold spell for 12 days in a row. At Safdarjung, the cold was eight days till Monday.RK Jenamani, a senior scientist at the National Weather Forecasting Centre, said the lowest day temperature for Delhi was recorded on December 28, 1973, at 11.2ºC. This year till now the lowest day temperature is 12.2º C on December 17.The intense cold spell will continue till at least till December 27.The Centre-run System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting (SAFAR) suggests a slight improvement in wind speed and ventilation, and a marginal improvement in Air Quality Index (AQI) is forecast for Thursday but within the very poor category.“From Friday onwards winds are forecast to slow down for three days. On Friday the AQI is forecast to deteriorate towards the higher end of the very poor category. The dense fog in the morning hours is likely to continue for the next two days under favourable meteorological conditions,” SAFAR said.It also predicts that low surface wind speed and low ventilation are forecast for an extended period from Friday and likely to lead to the accumulation of pollutants. By December 29, the AQI is likely to touch higher levels, it said.Officials had said the severe cold conditions will prevail till the end of 2019 and the minimum temperature will show a minor increase in the New Year on January 1 and 2. They predicted dense foggy conditions during morning hours for another week.Cold snapAuthorities have shut schools and colleges in Haryana, including Gurugram, Agra and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh as the intense cold spell, which impacted the entire northern region last week, is likely to continue this week. The “cold wave” conditions are predicted to set in over Delhi and neighbouring states of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said.IMD says a “severe cold day” is registered when two things happen — the minimum temperature drops to less than 10 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is at least 6.4 degrees Celsius below normal. And a “cold day” is registered when the minimum temperature is less than 10 degrees Celsius and the maximum is 4.4 degrees Celsius below normal. Meteorologists say the unusually cold conditions are due to a western disturbance (WD), which brought heavy snowfall in the Himalayan region — Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh — and rainfall across the northern plains, including in Delhi on December 12 and 13. That western disturbance had left a lot of moisture in the atmosphere. Cold northwesterly winds and high relative humidity is causing dense fog in the morning hours. “After sunrise when the surface warms a little the fog layer lifts up but not enough. It continues to hang close to the surface in the form of a low cloud cover. This is the main reason sun is not able to warm the surface and day temperature is low,” Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the Regional Weather Forecasting Centre, explained.Scientists had said that cold wave conditions are likely to develop over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and north Rajasthan on December 25. It also said cold day to severe cold day conditions are likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi during the next two to three days.“After 25th, we are expecting clear skies, low wind speed which will cause nighttime temperature to fall significantly. It is mainly because of radiational cooling when ground radiates heat away at night. The relative humidity is also high so there may be dense fog also in the morning hours,” Srivastava said.“When a western disturbance moves away, there is cold air incursion from the higher reaches of northwest India. There are usually clear skies and very cold nights, the combination of these conditions brings on a cold wave,” said K Sathi Devi, head of National Weather Forecasting Centre. Dipping numbersCold wave continued to sweep most parts of Haryana and Punjab, with Narnaul reeling at a minimum temperature of 3.2 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.Narnaul in Haryana was colder by two degrees against normal limits. Hisar too recorded below normal minimum temperature at 4.1 degree Celsius, weather officials said.A meteorological department official said severe cold weather conditions are likely to continue for the next two days in Haryana. Punjab’s Faridkot was the coldest place recording a low of 4.6 degree Celsius. Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded a low of 6.9 degree Celsius.Isolated places in Uttar Pradesh received light rain and the cold wave continued unabated across the state on Wednesday, the meteorological department said.It said most places in the western and eastern part of the state remained under the firm grip of intense cold wave.On Thursday, the weather is likely to remain dry with fog enveloping several parts of the state. Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail in the state till December 28, the met office said.Cold wave continued in parts of Rajasthan where Sikar was the coldest place, recording a minimum temperature of 2.5 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. The weather conditions would remain the same during the next 48 hours, weather officials said. Read the full article
