Snowy Egret

This bird is known via it's golden slippers. I have no idea where I saw this—other than on the east coast fairly close to New York.

From when I was an active birder thirty years ago. One image by Richard Koenig; taken most likely in 1991 or 1992.

Snowy egret sketch | Limited edition fine art print from an original drawing. My sketches start life as hand-drawn graphite images made on cartridge paper. I often work on these with charcoal, oil pastel or Caran d'Ache to create the look I'm after. The artwork is then scanned and finessed digitally ready for fine art printing. This process often referred to as Giclée printing uses the highest standard of printing methods to give gallery quality results that maintain all the details of the original sketch. The graphite pencils I use are Faber-Castel, the oil pastels are Sennelier and the china-graph is Caran d’Ache. The inks are pigment based archive quality (100years+). The heavyweight specialist papers I use are of the best professional quality having a wonderful surface designed specifically for fine art drawings and illustrations. Very limited editions with only ten per size printed. All artwork is signed and includes a certificate of authenticity. PMW Review: May 2023

The PMW Review is a summary of some of the month’s most interesting additions to the Pathologic Modding Wiki! The community filled in several wanted pages in May, including the wiki's most in-depth looks at scripting yet.

The kerosene lamp in Pathologic uses math tricks to balance its timer and randomize its brightness on each use. Its color is super easy to modify in the script, and the function it uses could one day be repurposed to make a color-changing flashlight...

Pathologic 2's match lamp is just as interesting - it burns for a variable amount of time, which becomes shorter as the game progresses. As a bonus, its model is a flattened optical illusion.

Groundbreaking research into Actor types classifies Pathologic's spawnable entities based on binary file contents: for example, all 6000 static world objects. Did you know that some (dynamic) lights only light moving NPCs, and not the ground?

Version information for various Pathologic releases turns out super counterintuitively: the significantly different 2006 international release uses the same build, but the Steam and GOG builds of the same game are different! And furthermore, the latest release reuses the code name of the earliest recognizably-p1 alpha :-)
