RAINDROPS pelted against the glass of the window gently, the sound echoing throughout the quiet room that is your bedroom.
today, levi had decided he would just spend his time with you in the comfort of your own room, holding you in his arms while he lazed the day away.
you, on the other hand, were having none of it. and by none of it, i mean cuddling. it wasn't that you didn't want to cuddle with levi, in fact, you enjoyed a lot! but, the rain outside your window was far more important in your eyes.
there was nothing exactly specific about the rain that entrapped your attention, just that it had been so long since you'd been in it. so long since you've been outside even.
but you'd never ask to go outside, the answer was already plastered onto an invisible wall inside of your head. so instead, you'd just look whenever you would get the chance.
and it didn't go unnoticed, it was actually quite obvious. you didn't care however, it's not as if erwin or levi were going to change their mind, so why worry at all?
but seeing the way your eyes sparkle at the sight of the rain gather in puddles outside, levi felt himself being convinced.
he huffs annoyedly, he just wanted to spend the day in your arms until erwin was home. he wishes it didn't rain. but even so, he begrudgingly gets to his feet and trudges to you. you look at him with a smile, hand reaching up to point at something that only you could probably see.
"we're gonna go outside for a bit, sick of watching your desperate face," he puts his hands in his pockets while staring at your widened eyes.
you stare at him for a minute, slightly creeping him out, before you even really react. you swing your arms around his neck and thank him profusely, a wide smile spread from ear to ear whenever you pull away from him.
"you're not going out in your nightgown though," he points to the silk white nightgown that ends at your bruised knees.
you follow behind him happily whenever he walks into your closet, shuffling through the different clothes he's bought you.
"you're not wearing light colors, it's too muddy outside, and if you were to get stains on you, they'd ruined beyond repair," he mutters, grabbing a black button up with bishop sleeves.
he hands it to you, gently taking your hand to lead you out of the closet and towards your dresser than held your clothes. he settles on a forest green skirt that ends just a few inches above your ankles, and then he grabs a bra for you.
"strip," you don't complain, only heat up and oblige.
his back is turned whenever he flings a black bra at you, obviously avoiding the sight of your body to help you maintain your decency. even if he did bathe you sometimes.
you hurriedly slip the bra on and levi finally decides to look at you again. he helps you button up your shirt along with the cuffs, nagging at you quietly as a husband would do for their wife. he lets you step inside the skirt on your own, which has you coming to the realization that there are built in pants that separate the air from your panties.
levi scoffs at your untucked shirt, tucking it into your skirt with fondness dripping from him. he sits you onto the stool of your vanity, which no longer has a mirror, and sighs. he picked up a brush, running it carefully through your hair to avoid any tangles that would tug at your head.
when he feels you're decent enough, he holds a cold hand out for you to take into his own. you accept it with glee, skipping behind him when he guides you through his estate and to the back door that leads to his garden.
"i need you all to clean up that table in the center. put those big umbrellas under it and dry it off with towels. then leave towels by the umbrella so i can wipe it down if it gets wet again. make us a light lunch, nothing too big but definitely not small. (name) and i are going to walk around the garden together until you all are finished or until we're ready to eat," levi's so quick with his words that it has you reeling with confusion, but his workers seem just fine with his speed and are already starting to complete the task given to them.
he holds a smaller umbrella in one hand and your hand in the other, opening it above the two of you as you step outside the door. your shoes click against the stone walkway just as thunder booms in the sky. you flinch and chuckle, pulling your hand away from levi to link arms with him.
he guides you along the garden, only explaining certain things if you had questions. the silence mixed with the light pitter patter of the rain soothes him, heavy eyes fluttering sleepily.
he's immediately awake whenever you squeal excitedly.
there was a marble statue of the goddess, themis. her scales were elegantly balanced between her fingers while her blindfold hung loosely around her eyes, other hand on the hilt of her sword that pointed to the ground.
"that was a reward for erwin at his office. i make sure to clean it myself every once and a while," you look to him, admiration mixed with confusion displayed on your face as you contemplated the meanings behind not only the goddess, but her statue as well.
you decide to keep quiet, slightly tugging levi to come closer to the statue so you can examine it more closely.
your eyes are shining whenever levi looks at you, and he feels like you're the sunshine in the midst of this pouring rain.
he looks down at his shoes silently, brushing away his cheesy and sappy thoughts. he feels stupid. not once had he felt this way towards anyone besides tall blonde men with blue eyes, but now he was feeling this way towards a woman. to say he was confused was only scratching at the surface.
he knew he'd liked you when he met you. you were quick witted, outgoing, and kind-hearted, not to mention gorgeous. but it's not like he wasn't sexually attracted to women at the time, he definitely was. he had never just felt romantically for women, not once in the entirety of his pitiful life.
but you're so docile and levi likes that. he not only likes it, he cherishes it.
for now, he'll entertain the thought that he might be bisexual, pansexual, whatever title makes him feel comfortable. if he can fall for you, then there's a chance he can fall for other girls.
levi hasn't even realized he's zoned out until you whine at him. you're lightly tugging on his hand to venture further into the garden, and levi's heart swells. you had an opportunity to leave, whether you even knew it or not, yet you chose to stay and wait for him. you had even snapped him out of it.
he lets out a huff before he stares to guide you around the garden again. he can't wait to take a nap after this.
"are you ready to eat yet," he grumbles, tugging on your hand to get you to stop walking.
"is there anything else left to see?"
"nothing that will look good in this weather," he scoffs.
"then, yes, i'm ready," and with that, he's leading you to the table his workers had been ordered to set up.
when you two arrive, you realize that the table was sat under a white hexagonal kiosko that had vines and flowers wrapping around the support beams. the table was covered from the rain, confusion clacking your brain at why levi asked for a big umbrella.
he seems pleased at seeing the table though.
"how long did it take for petra to realize," levi asks whenever he helps you sit down.
"not very long," the man said, and you recognize him from that day in bath with erwin.
you stiffen at the eye contact, looking down at the table and the empty plates that sit upon them. you feel his stare linger on you and your body, specifically your curves that were hidden underneath the button up shirt levi put on you. this kid gave you the creeps.
"i'll be back with the food," he says and walks behind your chair, fingers brushing against the back of your neck.
you swallow down your disgust, looking to levi to start a conversation.
"levi, wh... what's that boy's name?"
eyebrow raised, he responds, "his name's archie. why do you ask?"
"no reason. i think i've seen him around the house before," you shrug and idly play with the silverware on the table.
levi doesn't believe you, but the day has been too good for him to ruin now. you both talk sparingly while waiting for archie to come back, mostly talking about the new tv show you got levi to start watching and what he thinks about it.
the two of you turn your heads when you hear the sound of footsteps. you see erwin with archie following behind him with a tray of three plates, erwin holding an umbrella over the two of them. a soft smile sets on levi's face when he sees him.
"what are you doing home," you smile whenever he steps under the roof of the kiosko closes the umbrella.
"i was thinking of you two all day. it got so bad that i called a client by your guys' names," he chuckles, leaning down to give you a kiss on your head.
he does the same to levi while you giggle at his sentence. he sits down in an unoccupied chair, hand laying itself on your thigh.
"you can't just keep taking off, erwin," despite the slightly bitter sentence, levi's face is content.
archie places the plates in front of erwin and levi in silence, then to you. his arm brushes your own, and you can't help but get that weird feeling in your tummy again.
"thank you," you say to him quietly, flipping the fork between your fingers.
he just hums in response and walk away from the three of you again, sly smirk on his face. you ignore him, starting to eat the grilled chicken salad with slight confusion.
it had been over three months since you'd even had a fork in your hands. the feeling felt foreign and it felt as if all memory of how to eat with a fork washed away. the realization made your stomach ache, a dreadful look in your eyes spreading across your body. you swallowed down the huge ball that brews in your throat, hands trembling.
erwin and levi stare with pride swelling in their chests while tears swell in your eyes.
since when had you become so dependent? were you not just taking care of pieck and her cat when she was sick months ago?
you take a deep breath, adjusting the fork to make it comfortable in your hand. you try your best to eat with loose muscles, but the stiffness in your bones have practically turned you into wood.
erwin turns to you, sickeningly sweet smile on his face, taking the fork out of your hand and gathering food for you. he feeds you, just as he has done before, fingers gently touching your jaw as if he guided your chewing.
a warmth fills the ball in your chest, and deep down inside it makes you sick. you chew slowly and listen to levi and erwin's conversation, which consists of erwin's workday and how you've refused to cuddle with levi this morning.
β€”β€”β€”β€”
you lay on the living room couch with your head in erwin's lap and feet in levi's. a crime documentary plays on the television, something erwin seemed excited about. he looked too cute to deny.
erwin's fingers run through the locks of your hair lovingly, only ever pulling them out if they start to tangle. levi's watching the documentary with a bored look on his face, thumb rubbing random patterns into your ankle. you're not exactly paying attention to the documentary, only zoning in whenever erwin points something out or whenever levi lets out a scoff.
you start to sit up and stretch, the urge of going to the bathroom taking over you.
you feel embarrassed whenever you ask, "can i go to the bathroom?"
"yeah, just go to the one in your quarters," levi's answer is immediate. he really must not like the documentary.
you pad over to the bathroom, listening to the pitter pattering of your bare feet against the dark hardwood floor. you walk into the opened door of your quarter, yawning obnoxiously and throwing your arms into the air. maybe you should've cuddled with levi this morning.
you go to the bathroom quickly, the thundering of the sky making you nervous. it would've been different if levi or erwin were with you.
you start to walk back to the living room, eyes focused on the flickering light that illuminates the large hallway. a particular loud clash of lightning and clap of thunder has you jumping into the air, house barely rumbling.
your body crashes into a chest, which you immediately grab onto, instinctively. you start to apologize to the person, obviously thinking that it was erwin judging by the height and broadness of the chest.
but when you look up, you're looking at the emerald green eyes that belong to archie. your words get caught in your throat and you feel yourself pale.
"i-i'm sorry," you stutter, immediately backing away only to come to the realization that you're already a few feet from the door to go back into the living room.
if you crashed into him, that means he was walking towards you. but the only thing ahead of the two of you would beβ€”
would be your room.
dread drenches you, head to toe, sweat forming on your forehead as the room starts to feel a little bit fuzzy.
"wh-why were you in my room," you struggle to even get the first syllable out.
"levi wanted me to check for something in there," he shrugs nonchalantly, but you're not convinced.
you smile shakily and nod, rushing to the living room to get away from him. you try to think positive even after all the staring and subtle touches.
but it still leaves a pit in your stomach.

π…πšπ§ππ¨π¦: The Lady and The Beast
Waking up that beautiful morning, with the rays of sunlight coming through the small cracks in the red curtains of her rooms, Maria turned to the opposite side, letting the light fall on her back, it was too early to leave her comfortable bed, it was when she felt a presence beside her that made her open her eyes, coming face to face with the figure of the wolf that slept deeply beside her.
For a moment she was surprised since the ones who normally slept with her were Lycanroc and Mienshao as long as they could fit in the bed, unlike Charizard, Kommo-o, Tyranitar and Noivern who were too big to fit in it and therefore slept scattered around the huge room. , sitting on the bed, she saw the two smaller figures sleeping on the edge of the bed, with a sigh she looked at the wolf-" You're getting too free for my liking... "-She mumbled and then got out of bed, putting on her slippers, being careful not to wake up the sleeping Pokemons.
As she carefully opened the balcony doors, she took a deep breath of the fresh morning air and watched the beautiful garden with all the other pokemons that walked around, that's when she felt something nudge her arm, looking down, she saw Lycanroc, his red eyes watched her intently, as if trying to figure out what was going through her head.
" Good morning Lycanroc... hope you slept well, sorry about that... I know having him here messed up our whole routine but soon he will leave and return to his home and soon you will be able to go back to sleep with me "-She spoke as she stroked Lycanroc's red and white fur.
" Ly-Lycanroc! "-The pokemon spoke happily while rubbing his head against her waist in a way of saying 'it's alright'.
That's when the other pokemons started to wake up and that was the cue she needed to go back inside the room, she quickly saw Theo's figure awake in bed, the wolf looking at her intently, waiting for her next move.
" Good morning Theo... "-She spoke in her usual monotonous voice and took the leather handrail that was on the dresser beside the bed and then put it around her neck-" Better get going, breakfast will start soon "
The wolf got out of bed, quickly startled by Lycanroc who as always had his serious and intimidating expression as well as his trainer's, he then saw the woman turn to the other pokemons and asked them to return their pokeballs, except for Lycanroc and Mienshao who accompanied them out of the room.
As they walked through the hallways, Theo watched the pictures on the walls carefully, he saw many pictures of her with several different men and children, in the end he saw a big picture where there was just her, a little blonde girl and seven other boys, probably her children.
But something he also noticed was how she started to lose her color in the paintings, at first she looked happy but in the end she had no more expression, it was empty and emotionless, like she was just there because she needed it.
As soon as they arrived in the dining room, she sat at the table and let the other pokemons out of their pokeballs, the maids came in and served them, Theo sat next to Maria's chair that was drinking her coffee, he whimpered, as if asking her to give him a piece of her bacon.
The Grand Duchess sighed-" Okay, okay... "-She took some pieces of bacon from her and threw it to him-'I hope his family representatives will arrive soon'-She thought as she ate the rest of her breakfast her.
During the afternoon, she stayed in her office in the company of Theo and her pokemons, the white wolf hooted as she had his head on her lap while Lycanroc and Mienshao were relaxing beside her chair, the red haired woman looked in the direction from the window-' Four days since I sent that letter... and still no news.... my maids believe that no one will show up, but I know something will happen...'
Watching the rain fall against the window, Maria felt Theo rub his head against her chin, covering it with fur-' When will the rainy season end? in the hallways, sleeping or reading books... I need to think of a plan '-That's when she let out a little sneeze.
Adrian immediately appeared at her side, handing her the handkerchief-" Here Your Grace... and here is Lady Van Atalenta's letter, she is about to arrive and the harbor has been emptied, they will have no problem arriving "-He a informed.
" Thanks Adrian... "-She spoke while putting the handkerchief over her nose.
" His family will be very grateful for your gesture "-The butler spoke as he watched her.
' She is very good at handing out rewards as well as punishments... despite being benevolent to her servants, she has no pity on those who cross her path... those who dare to set traps for her, find the end by not realize that '-He thought as the woman read the letter.
That's when her office door opened, revealing the figure of one of her maids-" Your Grace, two visitors have arrived "
" They must be the representatives of the Van Atalenta family, Your Grace "-He spoke to the Grand Duchess.
" How did they manage to get in the middle of this rain? "-She asked herself as she stood up.
In the living room of the mansion....
When she arrived in the living room, she saw two figures sitting on the sofa: A woman with platinum hair and blue eyes and what appeared to be the butler, along with her was Swanna and with the butler was a Komala.
" You're soaked "-She said while waving her hand to the maids, for them to bring towels.
" Lady Bellona, thank you for your hospitality "-The butler spoke as the maids put the towels on their shoulders and back.
" It's the least I can do after all this trip here... "-Lady Lilith replied as she sat down on the other sofa in front of them.
" By the way, thanks for coming, I hope I didn't cause any problems "-She spoke while Lycanroc and Mienshao sat on the sofa with her.
" Don't worry Lady Bellona, I don't cause us any problems, we appreciate you taking care of my brother "-The platinum-haired woman spoke.
" You must be Lady Meredith and the Head Butler Oliver, right? "-Maria asked and they agreed.
" And Lady Bellona, it's an honor to finally meet you but we didn't expect you to be so... young "-Meredith spoke, it was visible that she was suspecting something.
" Nobody expects that, but what can I say, I know how to take care of myself very well so I don't look so old, but I assure you that I'm still in my twenties "-Lilith lied while looking at the other woman.
She then continued-" You must be exhausted from traveling here in this rain, you must go upstairs and take a shower "
That's when her two bodyguards entered the room-" Sir Hysen, Sir Benjamin, please join us, these are my guests from Van Atalenta State "
" Lady Bellona, how has my brother been? Has he been all right? "-Meredith asked, looking in the direction of the Grand Duchess.
' It's been a month since he got here and it's only been a few days since I finally figured out who he was...when did I get so attached to him? When he gets out of my sight, I'm always worried about him, I approached him, I realized how lonely he was, his irrational actions might have been decided by his loneliness... '-She thought, looking good serious in front of the guests.
" Everything went very well, being honest with you... "-Maria spoke as she got up from the sofa, with Lycanroc and Mienshao following behind her
" He hasn't hurt you once. How did he do that? "-The head butler questioned.
" I'll show you, just so you don't worry "-The Grand Duchess spoke, signaling for the two figures to follow her and they did so, they stopped in front of doors made of oak, as soon as she opened them, a growl echoed which made the Head Butler hesitate but the woman seemed very calm.
As soon as the door opened completely, the figure of the grand white wolf appeared and he looked quite happy to see the Grand Duchess.
" Theo, were you able to take your time to play alone? "-Maria asked calmly and the wolf responded with a cheerful bark.
" Lady Bellona that wouldn't be the.... "-Oliver spoke surprised, seeing that scene before him.
The wolf sat next to the woman dressed in black and nudged his snout against her cheek as she stroked his white fur-" Say hello, this is Grand Duke Theodore, I like to call him Theo "-Maria spoke calmly while looking at the Lady and the Head Butler.
They then returned to the living room and sat on the sofas, Lilith as she sat in the company of her pokemons, Theo lay down with her head on her lap so she could pet him-" See, as I said, everything is fine "-She spoke calmly.
Oliver and Meredith still looked surprised.
" I believe that due to the Duke's prolonged absence, things are not very good in your lands so when the weather improves, you will leave immediately with Theo "-Maria informed them.
Hearing that, Theo began to whimper which caught their attention, the wolf got up.
" It seems that my brother didn't like the idea of leaving... "-Meredith spoke, clearly impressed by the scene.
The auburn haired woman just raised an eyebrow, and then held Theo's face with both hands-" You have no right to disagree, you have to go back to your own State "-She told the wolf who looked very sad.
" So... he's human? "-Maria asked Meredith.
" Not at the moment but yes "-The platinum-haired woman nodded.
" Well, I'll let my maids take you to your quarters, and once you're well rested, we can talk better. "-And with that Lilith got up and headed to leave the room, Lycanroc, Mienshao and Theo following right behind her.
Watching that scene, it made Meredith have an idea-" Lady Bellona, I think I have an idea that will please both of us "-She said and that made the auburn haired woman stop.
" As I said... after they rest, we'll talk about it "-Maria said and with that she left the room.
Meredith wanted to become her family's Grand Duchess of State and here was the chance, being thrown right in front of her.

Underland’s Unruly Princesses: March of the Witch Hunters (aka the crossover) chapter 4
Tumblr media
Rosalind II
It was no secret that Ember hated my father, Ilosovic Stayne the Knave of Hearts. She said he was an ignorant one eyed gorilla who cheated on mother several times with various ladies of the court when she carried me inside her and that's why he lost his eye. I knew better than to ask either of my parents if there was any truth to this. When I was nine, she also claimed that he attempted to spoon her in her bedchamber. I don't know if this is officially true or not, but after that claim, mother made both of us sleep in her bed for about a year, and I didn't see my father at all during that time because he was put on ice in the dungeon.
But once I realized I wasn't going to get anywhere with Auntie Mary and Auntie Sarah, apart from my birthday gifts that is, I knew I had to ask him for help. I got all the attention I wanted from Mother, Ember, my aunties, and mother's old friend and our cook, Mrs. Nellie Lovett, but my father was distant. He was probably busy carrying out Mother's orders. Still, the only time he spent with me was with everyone else, or when he tried to teach me how to spar which mother quickly stopped him from.
"Princesses don't fight with steel." Mummy insisted when she caught me fencing with my father on her croquet lawn and promptly dragged me off by one arm. In hindsight, I think Daddy wanted me to be a boy.
The Resistance made a big deal out of the fact that Mother executed her husband, took several lovers over the course of her reign, and had no "legitimate" children. Ember and I were often referred to as "Royal Bastards." Mummy countered this slander by saying that Ember's father was the resistance leader, Tarrant Hightopp, the Hatter, and that the only reason she killed her husband was that he tried to kill Ember when she was a toddler and pushed him off her balcony. Not only that, but she was also pregnant with me at the time and couldn't keep him around long enough for him to find out that she had another child who wasn't his. Besides, he was a cheating asshole just like my father. Worse than my father in fact because he'd been screwing her own sister!
I wish I looked more like my mother. She and Ember had the same red hair, only Ember's hair was more ginger than red. I had only my mother's porcelain skin, dainty features, long eyelashes, and aching feet, and my father's bright sky blue eyes, but unlike either of them, I was born with an abundance of long, thick, wavy honey-colored tresses falling almost to my knees which was strange at first, but then it was revealed that my maternal grandmother, Queen Elsemere was a blonde, so I guess it wasn't that odd. Like my sister, I had a curvaceous, voluptuous body and had always been rather busty for my age.
As we walked to Daddy's chamber, I thought about my interaction with Auntie Sarah and Auntie Mary. They were quick to praise my singing of Nellie's songs and rewarded me with my birthday presents. Auntie Mary gave me a beautiful cake, six layers high decorated with red buttercream roses with golden leaves. Two layers were chocolate fudge cake filled with cheesecake, two were chocolate chip cookie dough cake filled with cheesecake, and two were red velvet cake filled with cheesecake. The whole thing was frosted in fudge and cream cheese frosting. She told me I was getting too skinny and insisted I eat the whole thing myself before I started singing. Auntie Sarah gave me some a beautiful choker, black velvet ribbon with a golden rose briar pattern embroidered into it, three new gowns, and a red bow made from the same fabric of my mother's favorite gown with a miniature version of mother's scepter as the clasp. I thanked them and asked them where Auntie Winnie was.
"In your mother's study," was Auntie Sarah's reply,
"In the garden," said Auntie Mary at the same time. Then they looked at each other oddly.
"In your mother's study," said Auntie Mary.
"In the garden," said Auntie Sarah.
I knew now that she was neither in the garden or Mummy's study and grew suspicious. Ember's story confirmed these suspicions and I knew we had to send my father out to find the Witch Hunters in our world and arrest them immediately. We would put a bounty on their heads and snuff them out. If not, I could use my baby Jabberwockies that mother gave me when I turned fourteen, Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion, on them. They were my babies. Drogon was now large enough to ride, but the others could set things on fire and probably burn people alive.
I rapped sharply on door to my father's room with Ember close behind.
"Exactly why are you dragging me to visit your father?" Ember asked me.
"Because he listens to you and not me." I said blankly, stating the obvious and trying to school the twinge of envy from my voice.
"You're his daughter, though," Ember torted. "Not me. Besides, he abandoned you."
"I think you scare him." I smirked. "Why does Mummy even keep him around anyway?"
Ember chuckled lowly. "I haven't a clue, sis. Sometimes I swear Mum forgets why she does things."
"Well either way you get through to him better than I do that's why you're coming with me." I banged on the door again. "DADDY! GET YOUR STUPID FUCKING DEADBEAT ARSE OUT HERE RIGHT NOW!" I yelled.
"Or I'll tell Mummy you sometimes like to wank to pictures of Aunt Mirana!" Ember chimed in an annoying tone. I giggled like a little girl.
Ember laughed as my Father whipped the door open. She had Aunt Winnie's book in the crook of her arm. She had not stopped carrying it around since Mum gave it to her.
"The fuck do you brats want?" he demanded. I stared him down.
"Well, well, well, Stayne, I'd expected you to be thrilled by our appearance," Ember cooed in a sarcastic tone. "I guess I was totally wrong with that assumption." Without even asking, Ember just shoved her way into his room. Giggling, I followed her.
My father's single good eyes followed Ember as she went to the middle of the room and sat in a chair by the hearth. "It's an emergency." I insisted.
Oddly enough, my father sighed, then he crossed the room and sat across from Ember and I. "Considering that I have nothing better to attend to, I guess I will listen to your little pitiful sob story."
"It's the witch hunters. We have reason to believe there are some in our world that will stage an uprising and kill us all. We need you to find them."
My father's face twisted into a disgusted expression. "Witch hunters, you say?" He drew a small knife from his belt and began to wave it around. "What's in it for me?" he demanded of us.
Ember's cheeks began to flush red, and I could tell that Mum's temper was about to take over. "What's in it for you? You ignorant buffoon! If these Witch Hunters are even allowed to execute a single witch, they will begin to destroy the rest of us! Can't you see that we are peculiar compared to those from Above? We are nothing but alien to them. If they infiltrate the different worlds, we are all doomed. Underland and Above will be wiped clean. That includes everyone and everything!"
Ember had the ability to talk very, very fast when she was pissed off, much like Mum. I had always thought that she could easily out-talk anyone when she was about to rage. "If you don't do this for me, your own flesh and blood, do this for yourself!" I snapped.
Ember sprang from her chair. "DO IT FOR YOUR QUEEN!" She hissed stridently. It frightened me a little how angry she was getting. "Do it for the sake of having a woman to stick your dinky little prick into!" I clapped a gloved hand over my mouth in an attempt to stop the laughter that threatened to burst out.
I don't know whether it was the idea of not being able to lay again, or Ember's temper, but my father's jaw dropped. "Yes, your highness. Right away." He stumbled to his feet. He came over to me, dropped a peck on my cheek, dropped a heavy coin purse into my lap.
In one swift motion, he swiped his sword from the rack on the wall, and he began to jog from the room.
I wiped it off, quickly, but shoved the money into my cleavage. I wasn't used to his fake affection, but the money was nice and very much appreciated. Ever since his latest betrayal, Mum demanded he pay child support for my upkeep. About two million pounds sterling a month to be exact.
Ember sniggered next to me. She wrapped her fingers around Aunt Winnie's book and she giggled. "Well, Sis, looks like we got that taken care of."
"We make an excellent team. Remind me never to piss you off like that. Ever."I joked.
"Not to worry, Ros, dear. You shall never know the extent of my true temper." Holding the book to her chest, she rose from her chair. "Now, then, I suggest we go and find Mum."
"She'll be happy to know your favorite person paid his child support on time. How long do you think he'll last out there?" I wondered, walking out with my sister.
She shrugged. "Who knows? Hopefully long enough for us to find Aunt Winifred before the Witch Hunters take her down."
"While we're on the subject, there's something you should know." I confessed. "I've been having these weird nightmares about a black cat loitering around a condemned building in the Above. Do you think it has anything to do with Auntie Winnie?"
Ember stopped dead in her tracks. "That's funny, Ros. I, too, have seen the apparition of a feline, black as coal. I didn't think anything of it at all. You know what this means?" I shook my head.
"We must question Mum," she said flatly. "Even if you leave the talking to me. I think she knows more that she lets onto."
"I'll go with you...for moral support. But I don't want Mum to be mad at me." I said.
"It's decided then. I will do the talking." And with that, she trudged down the corridor. I followed.
