seriously yakuza 3 should’ve ended almost exactly the same way it did except when it’s shown that kiryu’s back in okinawa at the end majima should’ve been there too. that’s it. that’s all they needed to do
#the man was basically BEGGING for kiryu to take him with him that whole game he is So tired of getting left behind gahagagdhhdhshh#that’s ALL oh my god it would’ve been so EASY#it’s so frustrating I know I’ve said it a billion times but let that man be happy for the love of god#even if it’s vague. or even if it’s for a little while. it would’ve been better than abandoning him and shrugging off his willingness to do#Anything for kiryu ghagagahhahhshsgshdhdhh#bangs my head against a desk#kazumaji#rambling#I think it’s partly particularly frustrating because y3 was the strongest game for kazumaji shit and then they just sorta left it hanging#like none of the shit between them in the game never happened#like fuck dude. you don’t even need to think about it Gayly to see that at the very least had a whole arc and multiple scenes overall#dedicated to Kiryu Can Trust Majima In Any Circumstance. Majima Would Do Anything For Him#like that’s. what the whole of chapter 8 was about.#so then turning around and acting like kiryu just doesn’t care at all about any of that#well obviously it makes him look like a selfish prick but also it just doesn’t align with how he was the rest of the game generally#they also fucked over rikiya like I was 100% expecting some little tribute to him at the end back in Okinawa but there was Nothing#so that too but#yeah#xxgdhdjdjdjdjfgmg im mad because this is one of my favorite games in the franchise so I can’t just outright say It’s Bad or something like#I can with. say. 1/kiwami 1

i've recently read your minedai fics and they're so good... bangkok necktie especially was my fav but seriously! you write them so well! i'm very excited to see what else you write for them ^^ your fics are some of the best minedai fics have read! thank you for sharing your wonderful work hehe
i was wondering about your experience with the rgg franchise... would love to hear about how/when you got into it, your favorite games/the ones you've played, fav characters or moments in the series overall, etc. ^^
Thank you so much!!!! It feels great to know the works I write are also enjoyed by so many others. The tension and themes I can wring out of these two are incredibly fun to write and as I write more of them, I just find more and more facets to explore. I’m not sure if I’ll ever write more within the ‘universe’ of Bangkok Necktie, but I really should write all the ideas I had for what would happen next in a tumblr post and just share that instead.
Okay so about my RGG journey you gotta promise not to laugh aldjdkdjdndmd
So the only RGG game I’ve played was Y0 back in like 2021 I want to say. I wrote a Kiryu/Majima fic* that I left sitting dusty in my Google Drive until around this past June when I got a sudden and vicious urge to replay Y0, but alas—no way to. Instead I did what I didn’t manage to do in 2021 and just give in and watch the cutscenes for Y1 because I needed the Yakuza fix lol. Later watched Y2, then Y3, and… I haven’t gotten to any of the other ones LOL. I don’t really care about spoilers and engaging in a fandom means I already have an idea of how things play out and some characters, but I still gotta consume those tasty all cutscenes videos on YouTube for the rest of the franchise.
I do want to play the rest of them (particularly Y2, Y7, Ishin, and Y8 eventually), I just don’t have the means to. In terms of favorite characters, I think the order goes Mine, then Daigo, then Majima. I like the formal business types that are actually dangerous, just clicks with me and Majima is just flat out a fun and interesting character. Really, I’m gravitated to the characters I can chew on the canonical information given. Doesn’t have to be much, it just has to lead to interesting examinations. Favorite moments include Mine showing up to Kiryu and his band of friends with his kyodai’s head in a briefcase as an act of apology and just before he leaves decides that he can’t hold back so just shit talks Kiryu’s decisions to his face. Also every scene with Y2 emo Daigo. ALSO that scene in Y0 where Majima is beating the shit out of Lao Gui and Dojima shoots a gun at him and the camera focuses on the missed shot in the wall before focusing on Majima’s Hannya and he says “you can wait your damn turn. I’ll just be a sec. You get to be next.” KING! The cinematography of it all……. Show stopping… love that scene so damn much. Anyway thank u for da ask, always happy for an excuse to ramble about either my own works (future or past) or about things in this series.
*I did at last post it yay and before Minedai took over I do have two half written fics involving Majima that I haven’t touched since July. I’m sure I’ll get around to finishing those two eventually lol…

Just read your post about Kiryu in bed and was wondering how you think Majima is. I know a lot of people write him to be pretty kinky but something tells me he likes things to be personal and romantic. What are your thoughts?
Oh boy do I have thoughts on this 👀 NSFW under the cut, as before~
I know what you mean by Majima being generally portrayed as a kinky bastard. Looking at his usual over the top behaviour, it would be easy to extrapolate that he's also wild in bed. And I think that depending on the scenario... he might be. Because he’d play it up, as easily as he plays up his breezy personality to crazy levels. If it’s a one night stand or a really the first time in a very new relationship, he’d be inclined to treat it like any other brief encounter: keep the act up, play into their expectations and just abandon himself to momentary pleasure. Anyone who’s seen or heard of him and his reputation will likely assume he’s down for all sorts of fetishes. The Mad Dog fucks, he doesn’t make love. And he’ll probably score you with his tanto while doing it.
But this is all, as I said, an act. For years it’s been Majima’s means of disguising and distracting himself from how vulnerable he is inside. He’s sentimental and he falls in love easily and he knows this, bitterly even. So he’ll be overly dominant, go hard and fast, enough to fill a need and nothing more... presumably. But what if his partner were to hold him closer, stroke his face and kiss him softly? Stick around for cuddles afterwards, only to fall asleep in his arms? Just maybe... he could get used to it.
Once he’s comfortable with someone and in a stable relationship, then he’ll loosen up and accept more of the bonding aspects of sex. At his core, I think Majima really wants a loving touch, to be both on the giving and receiving end. Body worship would definitely be his thing. On the one hand because it’s his way of showing complete devotion, without having to say it. Words are hard and his mouth is much better at kisses than it is at expressing just how much love he feels for them. On the other hand, Majima’s own body bears painful scars and memories, in addition to being touch-starved. If someone were really willing to cherish all of him, even the parts he doesn’t usually show to the world... well then he'd simply melt in their arms.
That’s not to say he’d be completely vanilla. He wouldn’t seek out extreme fetishes, but he’d incorporate some roleplay into the bedroom. The man’s got an entire wardrobe of “Kiryu-chan harassment” costumes, he’s gotta put it to good use! Also, unlike Kiryu, I think he’d be very receptive to experimenting. If there’s a fantasy you’ve always wanted to live out, he’s listening and he’s down for it, as long as it doesn’t involve actually hurting you. He might even learn new things about himself. After all, when it’s with the right person, even a kinkier act can be tender and romantic. Light bondage + body worship? I think that would ignite quite the fire in him. 👀 By his own admission (in Y0), he’s a bit of a masochist, but I think his relationship with pain would be complicated at best, considering the torture he’s been through. He might seek it out because it’s what he’s used to and even what he thinks he deserves... so you can bite him or dig your nails into his skin and he’d grin through it... but it’s affectionate caresses that would rattle him more, for sure. I’ve talked a lot about kinky stuff, but what about turn-ons? In a previous ask I mentioned Majima would be less of an ass/boob man and more of a neck and shoulders kinda guy and I still stand by that. He’s attracted to elegance (in women particularly) and there’s nothing more graceful that the gentle slope of a loved one’s shoulders. Also a prime nuzzling spot. Easiest way to get him riled up is minimal lingerie. As he says in Dead Souls:
Tumblr media
Wear those under your clothes when you’re lounging at home and then watch for Majima’s reaction when he discovers them as you give him his “welcome back” hug and his hands start roaming... or, even better, send him a racy picture while he’s at work. 😌  In terms of the sex itself, I think it starts slow, with him giving plenty of care to getting you properly turned on. Honestly just seeing the desire in your eyes makes Majima’s head swim and he’s gonna want you as close as possible, I’m talking full body contact, so that you’re practically inseparable and he can feel your warm skin and your heartbeat against his. Now slow passion is nice, but Majima doesn’t have Kiryu’s patience and composure, so I think he’d be prone to... losing it. Gradually picking up the pace until he’s really pounding into you or forcing you down on him if you’re on top. How vocal he’ll be throughout this depends on the era, I think... younger Majima (’85-’88) would try to stifle all sounds because he’s still a little self-conscious, but Mad Dog Majima would have less qualms about letting you know just how amazing you make him feel. If there’s dirty talk on his end, it would stop abruptly once thrusts start getting vigorous. Head empty, only thrust. Best dirty talk you can serve him is his name, in any form: moans, sighs and cries. Never fails to short-circuit his brain. He doesn’t always last long because of how roughly he goes, but that doesn’t mean he’s giving up after only one round. He’s skilled with his mouth and fingers as well and more than eager to please you. If there’s no time for a proper session, then oral sex is what Majima would go for. Whether giving or receiving, he’s always gonna be watching your face. He wants direct eye contact while your mouth is full of his cock or you’re biting the sheets rocking against his tongue. And for afterwards... expect him to be clingy as hell. He’ll do some quick clean up if needed and then wrap himself as tightly as possible around you. Drop a little “I love you” into his ear now and he’s truly in Heaven. 💙

Character Story - Mine [RGGO]
I feel like i just wrote an entire MineDai pre-relationship fanfic with the word count on this >_< There’s a section in Mine’s wiki page about the “The Man Called Yoshitaka Mine” event. I’m pretty sure this takes place after that one, because Mine makes references to things Daigo said when they first met.
When it comes to idioms, I decided to leave in the ones that don’t sound too different from their English counterparts as is. The others I just tried to reword (it took a lot of googling to figure them out lol). Also, please note that anything I write before the chapter starts is shit I made up, don’t take them as facts XD
Tumblr media
Story: Mine, Chairman of the Hakuho Clan, meets up with Sixth Chairman Dojima. He then goes out for drinks with his boss, loses him in a public toilet, and ends up saving the day with his inherent skepticism that Daigo could be sleeping with a woman (either because our boy Mine’s gaydar is on point, or he believes that the words “Daigo” and “get laid” could never occur in the same sentence).
Mine: (I wish I could be his friend so he could smile at me like that . . . but it seems I am fated to only know him as the Sixth Chairman . . .)
Daigo: “Hey Mine wanna get some drinks together?”
Mine: :O
.
CHAPTER 1
.
Tumblr media
[Tojo Headquarters]
Driver: “Well, Chairman Mine. This is where you get off.”
Mine: “Ah.”
Mine: (Today’s my meeting with Chairman Dojima. Heh. I’ve really gotten far.)
Mine: “Hm? That’s . . .”
{Daigo walks by, talking to someone on the phone.}
Mine: “Is that Chairman Dojima? He seems to be on the phone with someone.”
Tumblr media
Daigo: “Hahaha. It’s hard work. But I’m fine.”
Telephone voice: “But Daigo-san. Ever since becoming chairman, you’ve become a distant person!”
Daigo: “What, would you like to come visit the Tojo Headquarters next time? It’s full of yakuza . . .”
Telephone voice: “No way! Just treat me to some cabarets and soaplands!”
Daigo: “Idiot, use your own money! Ha ha ha!”
Mine: (. . . Is the other party on the phone a friend of Chairman Dojima? . . . From what I heard, Chairman Dojima was playing around with his friends in the city before he assumed the position of Sixth Chairman. Must be a friend from that time period. I thought he was strict, but it seems he can make that kind of expression . . . to a friend . . .)
Daigo: “Oh, Mine. You’re here.”
Mine: “It’s nice to meet you, Chairman.”
----
Tumblr media
[Tojo HQ – Chairman’s Office]
Daigo: “. . . That’s all for today. Good luck from now on.”
Mine: “Yes. I will live up to your expectations.”
Mine: (By exchanging a cup with him, you entrust your life . . . It seems that I may only know this person as the Sixth Chairman . . .)
Daigo: “Hm? What is it, Mine? What’s wrong?”
Mine: “. . . no. It’s nothing. Excuse me.”
Daigo: “Really?”
Mine: (Now I have to fulfill my duties faithfully. To be Chairman Dojima’s . . . the Tojo Clan’s backbone.)
Daigo: “. . . Wait. Mine. Are you free tonight?”
Mine: “Tonight? I don’t have any plans . . .”
Daigo: “Then, do you want to go out for drinks?”
Mine: “Eh?”
Daigo: “It’s late, but consider it a celebration of the direct promotion of the Hakuho Clan. In addition, I’ve never had a drink with you yet.”
Mine: “. . .”
Daigo: “How about it? I know a good place.”
Mine: “. . . Yeah. I’ll be happy to.”
----
Tumblr media
[Champion District]
Mine: (. . . no way. To receive an invitation from Chairman Dojima . . . I’m in trouble. What do I even talk about . . .)
Tumblr media
{Off to the side, a thug and a yakuza are yelling and fighting.}
Mine: (Jeez. It’s a noisy town. The Chairman will arrive anytime now.)
{The thug and the yakuza keep fighting. The yakuza shoves the thug, and he bumps into Mine.}
Mine: “. . . ku!”
Thug: “What are you standing around there for!”
Mine: “. . . If you two are having a dispute, can you do it elsewhere?”
Thug: “We can have disputes wherever we want!”
Mine: “. . . You’re an eyesore. Scraps.”
Yakuza: “Scraps?”
Mine: “Yeah. Garbage. Messy trash dirtying the Chairman’s path. The Chairman will feel uncomfortable with guys like you around. Get lost now.”
Yakuza: “What part of it don’t you understand! We’re not going anywhere!”
Mine: “I guess it can’t be helped then. I’ll have to announce the Chairman’s arrival before he comes. Bring it on, scraps!”
{Mine takes care of the garbage.}
Mine: “Hn. Not so mouthy now.”
Daigo’s voice: “I think they’ve had enough, Mine.”
Tumblr media
Mine: “Chairman Dojima . . .”
Daigo: “Did I keep you waiting?”
Mine: “No . . . I just arrived myself. Even so, a place like this? There’s a lot to be said about the location, the security . . .”
Daigo: “This is my favorite bar. When it comes to drinking, this is the best place.”
Mine: “Is that so . . . hm?”
Tumblr media
Bodyguards: “. . .”
Daigo: “They’re coming along while we drink. Those guys are at work, don’t mind them.”
Mine: “I don’t have a problem. This is for the safety of Chairman Dojima.”
Mine: (Now, since I was invited, I have to be enthusiastic . . . It’s time to forget my daily duties and just enjoy myself tonight.)
----
Tumblr media
[Bar that might be Shellac unless it’s just reused assets]
Daigo: “Fuu. I finally got a drink. I can’t do without this.”
Mine: “. . . Chairman Dojima, you seem tired. Are the Chairman’s duties difficult?”
Daigo: “Ah, it’s very hard. For days it seems I’ve done nothing but work.”
{A couple overhears and starts whispering near them. The woman wonders what Daigo is a chairman of, but the man says he’s probably no one important.}
Daigo: “. . .”
Mine: “. . .”
Daigo: “. . . Hey, Mine. Why are you calling me Chairman Dojima today? It’s too stiff.”
Mine: “Sorry. I didn’t realize. Then . . . Daigo-san. That’s what I’ll call you.”
Daigo: “Ah, that’s fine.”
Daigo: “You know . . . the Fourth Chairman Kiryu-san’s existence is far greater than I thought. It seems even among those who don’t openly oppose, many are still dissatisfied with my appointment as Sixth Chairman.”
Mine: (Kiryu Kazuma . . . his name will always come up when you talk with Daigo-san . . .)
Mine: “That person, Kiryu, to Daigo-san . . . is he like your aniki?”
Daigo: “Aniki? . . .That’s right, something like that. I can’t express it in one word. But family, no . . . he may be more than that.”
Mine: (More than family? Something that far?)
Daigo: “That person is now running an orphanage in Okinawa. There, he seems to be living in peace with his new family.”
Mine: “An orphanage . . .”
Daigo: “Life in Okinawa is the peace he finally got. I want to protect it, whatever happens . . .”
Mine: (For Daigo-san to declare as much . . . Kiryu Kazuma . . . must be quite the man.)
----
2 hours later . . .
Tumblr media
Daigo: “Hahaha! Kanda’s face at the time must have been a masterpiece.”
Mine: “Yeah! Once my anger passed, I was amazed. He had a face like a sumo wrestler’s after I hit it.”
Daigo: “Ha-Hahaha! Su-Sumo wrestler-!”
Mine: (It seems he’s having fun. This is nice . . .)
Daigo: “By the way, Mine. Are you a private person? When it comes to friends . . .”
Mine: “Eh? Private? Me? . . . Hm? A phone?”
{A phone goes off with a notification.}
Daigo: “O-oh. It looks like I got . . . an email . . .”
Mine: “. . . !”
Mine: (What? Daigo-san’s face . . . is turning pale . . .)
Daigo: “. . .”
Mine: “What’s wrong?”
Daigo: “. . . N-no. It’s not a big deal. It’s my work email. Good grief, they must be bored. I don’t usually get emails at times like this.”
Bodyguards: “. . .”
Mine: (Daigo-san looks upset. Who did the email come from?)
.

CHAPTER 2
.
Tumblr media
[Bar]
Daigo: “. . .”
Tumblr media
Mine: (Daigo-san. Since that email arrived, he’s been acting strange. He keeps looking at the time, and acting like he doesn’t want to be here anymore. Who did that email come from?)
Mine: “. . . Um. Daigo-san, are you okay? Your complexion looks bad.”
Daigo: “No, it’s fine. I just feel a little sick.”
Mine: (Are you hiding something?)
Tumblr media
{There’s a commotion outside. Two yakuza brothers are trying to enter the bar, but Bodyguard A says monkeys like them aren’t allowed inside. They get into a fight.}
Bodyguard B: “Sounds like trouble outside. I’ll go help.”
Mine: (Not again. It really is a noisy town.)
Daigo: “. . . Now’s my chance.”
Mine: “Eh?”
Daigo: “Mine, actually there’s something I need to tell you . . . I need to get out of here alone.”
Mine: “Get . . . out?”
Daigo: “Lately, my bodyguards have been hanging around all the time, and I’m getting sick of it. They even follow me to the toilet . . . I can’t even stretch out my wings. That’s why I want to be alone for once and take a break.”
Mine: (. . . he wants to be alone? What do I say to that?)
Mine: “By any chance . . . does the content of the email you received have something to do with this?”
Daigo: “! . . . No Mine, it’s not like that. As I said . . .”
Mine: (He keeps glancing around the place. What is it?)
Mine: “. . . understood.”
Daigo: “So you’ll let me go?!”
Mine: “Yeah. It’s likely you’ll still try to leave even if I say no. However . . . please let me accompany you. As your bodyguard.”
Daigo: “Wh-what? You too?”
Mine: “It is expected that as the Sixth Chairman, you cannot be walking around alone. ‘I will accompany you as a bodyguard’ . . . that’s the last oath your subordinates swear by.”
Daigo: “. . . Alright. Then come along with me. We should be able to get out through the back door.”
Mine: (Daigo-san’s expression when he received the email is no small matter . . . When it’s just the two of us outside, maybe then he’ll tell me what’s going on.)
Tumblr media
Middle-aged Man: “. . .”

Tumblr media
[Children’s Park]
Daigo: “Fuu. Somehow I found it.”
Mine: “. . . Daigo-san, what are you doing? You said you wanted to stretch out your wings.”
Daigo: “. . . Ah, that’s right . . . I felt like wanting to move my body somewhere.”
Mine: “If so, there’s a batting center nearby. How about that?”
Daigo: “A-Ah, that’s great! It’s been a while, I feel like hitting some balls!”
Mine: “. . . By the way, Daigo-san. About the email earlier . . .”
Daigo: “!”
Mine: “Are you hiding something from me? If you’re in trouble, I might be able to help.”
Daigo: “. . . . . . No, it’s a personal problem. It’s not something I should be telling you.”
Mine: “But . . .”
Daigo: “. . . . . . Mine, I understand your concern. From my position, it seems I am always threatened by danger to my person. I don’t know what or when it will happen. There’s no guarantee of tomorrow’s safety.”
Mine: “Daigo-san?”
Daigo: “. . . No, it’s a long story. Don’t worry about it. Well, you said the batting center, right? It’s been a while. Mine, will you join me?”
Mine: “Yeah. I’ll take you up on that.”
Mine: (Daigo-san is still hiding something. But, why won’t he tell me?)
Daigo: “. . . Don’t get cold, Mine. I’m going to the toilet.”
Mine: “Understood. I’ll be standing guard right here in front, so take your time.”
Daigo: “I’ll be right back.”
{Daigo enters the public toilets. Mine takes his position by the exit. A few minutes pass.}
Tumblr media
Mine: “. . . . . . . . . he’s taking his time . . . unless . . .”
{Mine rushes to the toilets.}
Tumblr media
Mine: “Not here . . .! He’s gone! Did he go out through the window?! He took his chance the moment he was alone! Fuck, what do I do . . .”
----
[Children’s Park]
Bodyguard A: “Ah! You!”
Mine: “Tch! At a time like this . . . !”
Tumblr media
Bodyguard A: “Where is Chairman Dojima?!”
Mine: “. . . I don’t know. I’m also looking for him.”
Bodyguard A: “You’re lying! Did you bring him outside?!”
Bodyguard B: “You, no way . . . did you plan to kidnap Chairman Dojima all along?”
Mine: “Kidnap? You idiot, why would I?”
Bodyguard B: “Until recently, you were a regular man. You might be a spy sent by an enemy organization.”
Mine: “That’s a stupid idea. Right now we need to-“
Bodyguard A: “Whatever. If you don’t plan on spitting out the Chairman’s whereabouts, would you like us to make you talk?!”
Mine: “Tch. I guess it can’t be helped.”
{Mine beats the shit out of Daigo’s bodyguards.}
Bodyguard A: “Fu . . . ck . . . so strong . . .”
Bodyguard B: “Stupid. We are the elite . . .”
Mine: “Fuck! Get out of the way! Daigo-san . . .”

Tumblr media
[West Shichifuku Street]
Mine: “Not here . . . Where?!”
Barker: “Nii-san, Onee-chan, why not come have fun at our place?”
Mine: “A barker? No, not right . . . now . . . wait, are you always working in this area?”
Barker: “Eh? That’s correct, why?”
Mine: “Did a man in his mid-thirties with black hair, a black suit, and a good physique pass by here?”
Barker: “Yeah, he did.”
Mine: “What?! Do you know where he went?”
Barker: “Where he went . . . I think he took a taxi somewhere.”
Mine: “Taxi?”
Barker: “Yeah. He was joined by a young and beautiful Onee-chan.”
Mine: “Eh? O-Onee-chan?”
Bodyguard A: “So . . . a woman.”
Mine: “!”
Tumblr media
Bodyguard B: “I thought he was acting funny when he received the email at the bar. That ‘I’ve done it’ face. It seems that he missed a promised meetup with the woman.”
Mine: “Then, Daigo-san wanted to be alone . . .”
Bodyguard A: “Because he has a secret rendezvous. With who, I don’t know.”
Mine: “Somehow found . . .”
Bodyguard A: “A bad boy is attractive to a woman. Besides his money and his status, he’s also handsome.”
Mine: “. . . he said he wanted to move his body . . .”
Bodyguard B: “Heh. It’s nice to have a great time.”
Bodyguard A: “It can’t be helped. You should call it a night. You had a hard time too.”
Tumblr media
Mine: “Stupid . . .”

CHAPTER 3

Tumblr media
[West Shichifuku Street]
Mine: “Did Daigo-san go somewhere in a taxi? And with a young woman?”
Bodyguard A: “Chairman Dojima is unmarried, has money, and he’s handsome. It’s no wonder he’s popular. Right now, he’s probably with a model or an actress.”
Bodyguard B: “He should be careful not to get involved in a scandal.”
Bodyguard A: “Now, let’s head back. You should go home too.”

Daigo: “. . .”

Thug Leader: “As promised, did you come alone?”
Daigo: “Yeah. My faithful subordinate tried to follow me, but I left without telling him where I went. I made him think I was secretly meeting with a woman.”
Thug Leader: “. . . Is that right. Did you bring the money?”
Daigo: “Yeah.”
{Daigo hands over a bag. The leader unzips it to reveal cash.}
Thug Leader: “. . . Everything seems to be here.”
Daigo: “Will you keep your end of the bargain?”
Thug Leader: “Yeah. Don’t lay a hand on Kiryu Kazuma. He’ll be living in peace in Okinawa from now on.”
Daigo: “. . .”
Thug Leader: “Even so, that Kiryu person must be really important to you.  . . . Is he your weak point?”
Daigo: “. . . What are you trying to say?”
Thug Leader: “It’s amazing that the Tojo Clan’s Sixth Chairman can be lured out over one person.”
Daigo: “What?”
Thug Leader: “You still don’t get it? I’m saying this time it’s your turn to be the hostage!! Stupid! The aim was to get you all alone from the very beginning! If we kidnap you, we’ll get far more ransom money!”
Daigo: “Fuck . . .”
Man’s voice: “So . . . it was all for Kiryu-san. I figured that would be the case.”
Daigo: “Mi-Mine?”
Tumblr media
Mine: “Daigo-san, I had a hard time looking for you.”
Daigo: “Why are you here?”
Mine: “You think you can get away with such an obvious lie? . . . That barker, you paid him off.”
Daigo: “But he didn’t know about this place . . .”
Mine: “. . . Yeah. There are countless taxi companies in Kamurocho. Too many candidates to question where you went. And those guys won’t give out customer information, saying it’s ‘personal information’. So it couldn’t be helped. I had to resort to buying the taxis off. When that didn’t work, I bought off the taxi companies. When you become a stakeholder, you gain access to customers’ information.”
Daigo: “You did that for each company?”
Mine: “It took hundreds of millions. Heh. It was a huge expense.”
Daigo: “Mine . . . Why did you go so far . . . just for me?”
Mine: “. . . Daigo-san. I’ve shared a cup with you. That’s not something I take halfheartedly. I’m ready to sacrifice everything just for you. Forever and always. There are absolute bonds in the yakuza world . . . you taught me that.”
Daigo: “. . . Mine . . .”
Thug Leader: “O-Oi! Who are you to come barging in and interrupting us! I’ll kill you if you interfere!”
Daigo: “Kill him? You don’t seem to understand the situation. With this guy here, you’re the one who’s going to have a bad time.”
Thug Leader: “Ha?”
Daigo: “Mine here looks like a regular man . . . but don’t you know he’s actually really strong? I can trust him to have my back.”
Mine: “!”
Daigo: “. . . Mine. With you here, we can take on a hundred people.”
Mine: “Yeah. Let’s show them how we do things.”
Tumblr media
Daigo: “Let’s go, Mine!”
Tumblr media
Mine: “Yeah!”
{Mine and Daigo take down the whole gang.}
Thug Leader: “How . . . there are so many of us . . .”
Mine: “You . . . which organization are you with?!”
Thug Leader: “Guh! Th-That’s . . .”
Mine: “Answer me!!”
Thug Leader: “Ta-Takashima Family . . .”
Mine: “Takashima Family? As in ‘The Four Kings of Omi’ Takashima Family remnants? Chairman, what are you going to do? The Omi will want to hear this . . .”
Daigo: “. . . No, I won’t tell the Omi. Even with the conflict finally over, I don’t want to make needless waves over these excommunicated members. The police can handle them.”
Mine: “Is that so . . . . . . Daigo-san, will you finally tell me what’s going on this time?”
Daigo: “. . . Yeah. The thing is . . . I was being threatened before today.”
Mine: “Before?”
Daigo: “‘If you want to protect the peace of Kiryu Kazuma, pay the money. If you tell anyone, his peace will be lost.’ I got an email telling me where to go. Along with a stolen shot of Kiryu-san.”
Mine: “His peace . . . then that means they didn’t directly take Kiryu as a hostage, right?”
Daigo: “Yeah. If they did that, they would be in trouble. Their opponent is a legendary yakuza. However, there are many ways to ‘disturb the peace’.”
Mine: “So that’s why. And you’re Daigo-san. You wanted to protect him at all costs.”
Daigo: “. . . Yeah. I’ve secretly stationed a bodyguard around Kiryu-san. Just earlier, I received a photo of the bodyguard killed.”
Mine: “That’s the email you received at the bar . . .”
Daigo: “As soon as I saw that picture, I had to move.”
Mine: “Daigo-san, why didn’t you tell me this sooner? If you had, I would have been able to help.”
Daigo: “‘Someone is watching you’, the email said, so I couldn’t speak about it. In fact, there was a guy there at the bar watching us. And this is my personal problem. I didn’t want to get you involved.”
Mine: “That’s why . . . it’s unreasonable for you to act on your own. You are the Sixth Chairman of the Tojo Clan, an organization with hundreds of thousands of members in the East. I don’t know the Fourth Chairman or the Legendary Dragon, but acting alone to protect one individual . . .”
Daigo: “. . . It was unavoidable. Kiryu-san is a special person to me.”
Mine: “Which is more important, the clan or one person?”
Daigo: “! Th-That’s . . .”
Mine: “Before, you told me that the clan members are like your family. Isn’t that right? You’re giving priority to someone who’s not even a member of the clan. Are you not aware of that as the Chairman?”
Daigo: “Mine . . . you’re right. I’m sorry. I still have a long way to go.”
----
A few days later . . .
Tumblr media
[Tojo HQ – Chairman’s Office]
Mine: “Eh? Me be the Headquarters’ Junior Head Assistant?”
Daigo: “Yeah. I’ve been looking for someone to be Junior Assistant.”
Mine: “. . .”
Daigo: “What? You don’t want to?”
Mine: “No, it’s just . . . the other day we had just been promoted to be a direct subsidiary of the clan. I haven’t raised any tribute since then.”
Daigo: “Didn’t you entrust your life to me? Did you not say you were prepared to sacrifice everything for me?”
Mine: “!”
Daigo: “. . . Mine. I realized something the other day. You . . . you’re the one I can trust with my back.”
Mine: “Daigo-san . . .”
Daigo: “In addition, there’s no one in the Tojo Clan now who can preach to me face-to-face besides Kashiwagi-san, Mine.”
Mine: “I might have gone a bit overboard . . .”
Daigo: “So what do you say? Will you accept it?”
Mine: “. . . Of course. I will be happy to accept it . . . Daigo-san.”
Daigo: “That’s great! I’m counting on you, Mine!”
----
Tumblr media
[Tojo Headquarters]
Mine: (Junior Head Assistant. That was an unexpected harvest . . .)
Mine: (A man named Kiryu Kazuma. He’s a danger . . . I won’t let Daigo-san take such a reckless action again. I can’t leave that matter alone, as Daigo-san’s new Junior Assistant . . .)

🔫😃 give us them monster au Majima deets I dare you /hj
I'm invested, I wanna know stuff, like; What was the interaction between Kiryu and Majima like after the reveal? How did Haruka find out? Was it because she lives with Kiryu or did Majima tey to keep her oblivious to it as long as he can because no.?
I WANT THE DEETS AND I WANT EM NOW
(ya don't need ta do nothin if ya don't wanna, take yer time, I just wanna show excitement with this :>)
THANK YOU for the interest I am constantly excited to talk about things and will 100% share what deets I have
(Update: this got... WAY longer than I anticipated. So im putting it behind a readmore. sorry for the wall of text I got very passionate suddenly!!)
disclaimer: I have very little solid 'canon' established and 99% of this will be stuff I make up on the spot cause thats just how I do these things
So, in my head this all takes place after the events of the first game- Kiryu's been to jail, gets out, 10 billion yen drama ect. I think it would be peak drama if Majima accidentally let slip during the fight at Shangri-la that he isn't human, he got so hyped up on the idea of a 'fight to the death' with Kiryu (which, lets be honest, was probably a bit of suicidal ideation on his part because he wanted Kiryu to utterly destroy him) that he couldn't control himself and Kiryu gets an eyeful of claws and teeth and horns. But because things are so fucking manic during that point in the game, Kiryu deadass writes it off as a weird hallucination/'this might as well be happening' because he has WAY too much going on.
it's only after the games finished and Kiryu settles down, decides hes going to adopt Haruka and is trying to get his affairs in order when he's like. Holy Shit What Was Up With That.
Majima hasn't shown his face around him since because he becomes convinced Kiryu seeing that means hes going to despise him and/or try to kill him so he crawls into his hole to mope about it and Kiryu has to genuinely jump through hoops trying to find where he is. He was concerned! Eventually he gets in touch with Nishida who is equally worried about his boss (he knows Majima's secret but is sworn not to tell anyone) so he just. quietly tells Kiryu where Majima is living right now and prays it wont come back to bite him in the ass
He goes, Majima initially attempts to be like 'haha you hit your head pretty hard down there-' and write it off like that but Kiryu is nothing if not persistent and eventually he has a little meltdown about it and finally just shows him. Majimas been in a super weird mental state since Shimano died and hes just like, at his breaking point, so he figures 'fuck it, if Kiryu hates me, whatever' at that point
OBVIOUSLY Kiryu doesnt, hes just like. dude are you okay
they have a long ass talk about it and what happened and it all sort of culminates in an awkward love confession because turns out wow you two REALLY care about each other, huh!
Majima also shares that hes only really still in the yakuza because he feels like its the only place he belongs, that a monster like him doesn't deserve anything resembling a normal life. its that conversation that starts him on the path to realizing he's not happy there tbh
Im SEVERELY rambling at this point but. after a lot of emotional catharsis between these two they promise to try to make something work. majima considers leaving the yakuza, and kiryus going to make a home with haruka. and while hes not ready to join them properly, just yet, he's... thinking about it. in the meantime, he's heard some cool stuff about construction as a business, and he's lookin' into it.
they kept it from Haruka for a while, mostly because Majima is super not comfortable showing people. He didnt spend a lot of time around her because he still felt guilty about the kidnapping thing, but eventually Kiryu pushes him to try to apologize properly and make amends. Haruka is obviously suspicious of him but, I think shes got a good judge of character when it comes to if someones being earnest, and its clear Majima wasn't acting of his own volition. (She blackmails him for lots of ice cream as an apology.)
Eventually she picks up on the fact they're hiding *something* because of how like, furtive Majima becomes when he stays with Kiryu and how he's almost never actually around, especially since he loves being the center of attention otherwise. So they brace themselves for it all to come crashing down when they tell her.
It honestly... goes fine. Maybe its just cause she's a kid and was way more willing to believe monsters exist, but it's not quite the 100% world-shaking revelation. It does set them back a bit and there's a lot of convincing that 'not all monsters are evil', but eventually she settles on. 'he's not scary. he's just kind of weird.' and you know what? majima will 100% take that.
(also she thinks its funny how he purrs when you touch his ears a certain way. he's like a big weird puppy.)
okay goddamn this post got long enough as is but. thank you again for the interest I have... so many words in my brain about this. Ideally id love to write a proper fic but im really not great at structured writing like that- it takes a helluva lot of a work compared to just infodumping into a big nightmare post like this. One Day.
I mad appreciate any and all interest though! Like, at its heart this is a hurt/comfort kinda au, and my end-goal is for Majima to realize being a monster doesn't mean he doesn't get to be happy or that he doesn't deserve to be treated like a human. it is vitally important to me that these two old sad men be happy together and build a better life lmao

Hi! Can you write Yakuza 0 Kiryu and Yakuza 0 Majima become possessive of their S/O and sort of stalking them around Kamurocho (while busy doing sidequest) and saw them getting troubles with some thugs and proceed to beat the shit out of said thugs and expecting some kind of reward from their S/O. (Prolly sfw or nsfw tho). I'm sorry if this request was long but there is no possessive Kiryu or Majima hc out there. 😣😣😣 I'll be grateful if you write them. 🙏
Tweaking this request a bit
Reader is gender neutral
CW (CONTENT WARNING): Blood tw, swearing, sexual content
- You were just another civilian that just so happened to be in a relationship with a man with a target on his back. It wasn't anyone's fault, really. You were their light in this dogshit world they brought themselves in and like hell would they ever let anything happen to you.
Tumblr media
Kazuma Kiryu
- You don't mind how he lives a dangerous life even though he's a real estate agent. He makes sure to never drag you into his mess as he goes with his personal mission.
- However, this man still has numerous side quests to do, so he asks you to stay on guard as he goes about him trying to find cat food. Of course buying cat food would lead to a street brawl but he wasn't expecting you to be the target.
- You just wanted to surprise Kiryu from how hardworking he was and that he needed time to unwind. That's why you booked a room at a nearby love hotel and waited for Kiryu outside Don Quijote. You just didn't some random thugs to come up and start harassing you.
- Before they could place their hands on you, Kiryu quite literally swooped in with a dropkick and started beating them left and right. While he bloodied his fists, you stood back, watching the honestly hottest fight you've seen in your life. You were trapped in a trance, salivating over Kiryu's form until he snapped you back with hands on your shoulders and a reprimand ready on his lips.
- Before he could, you grabbed the lapels of his jacket and hauled him off to the love hotel in question, saying to him that he needs to "Pummel me until I can't walk just like how you did with those bastards."
- Kiryu really wasn't expecting any rewards from you but with how eager you were to ride on his cock, he wasn't complaining.
Tumblr media
Majima Goro
- Now he. He can be possessive.
- He doesn't want to be possessive but with you being the single innocent thing he has in his shitty life, he can't help but want to protect you from all of the bullshit in the world. He's already got a huge target on his back and like hell is he going to have a target be on yours too.
- It was bad enough that he's stressed about his current issues, it's worse when you were caught in some trouble. The thugs that were threatening you about the whereabouts of Majima were quickly silenced by his blade and kicks to their guts. You haven't seen him like this, seen the true Mad Dog of Shimano act like this especially towards you.
- When his bloodied figure turned to meet yours, you had to stifle a gasp from just how sinister he looked. It's even worse that it fits him for some crazy reason.
- He didn't care if his hand was still caked in blood, he carded it through your hair, pulling your head back as you met the manic gleam of his single eye. He only said an address, an address you were all too familiar with when planning special nights with him, then walked off.
- Inside the love hotel, your pleasured screams and harsh thrusts of Majima were the most prominent in the establishment.

ANGST KAZUMAJI ANON AND WOOF. FUCK. GOTTA LISTEN TO THOSE SONGS AFTER WORK. EXCITED. Your idea though OW. I haven't seen Y6 yet (I watch playthroughs don't have the console and my computer laughs at me trying to run the games) the streamer thats playing it finally got to Y6 and I am Refusing To Watch It. My heart can't take even starting the VOD.
You’re welcome for the music cc:
A LOT of people haven’t seen 6 yet, so I did my best to get through that without spoilers ^^; Hope I haven’t ruined anything for you. And I feel that, my laptop and I have constant arguments and I’m not a good gamer anyway ^^; I should try Kiwami 1 someday though... I have it, I'm just Nervous about Being Bad ^^;
Nice, following one streamer, well done c: I just hopped around to different playthroughs on youtube ^^; My wife and I binged all 7 games in I think 2 months, max. ^^; She crazy tho and a bad influence on me xp She likes to just sit and binge things and I am, understandably, weak for my wife <3
6 isn’t so bad, I promise. You can do it c: It’s very pretty, you get to stare at Kiryu’s juicy ass the entire game, there’s lots of cute minigames of Kiryu with a baby, uh... *running out of nice things to say about 6* ...did I mention it’s very pretty? Fuck... Listen, I have... Feelings about game 6, but I don’t want to ruin it for anyone ^^; Everyone’s allowed to experience things in their own time and form their own opinions and I don’t want to deprive anyone of that. Please watch it and when you see it, feel free to come tell me about it c:
And as a reward for all that, another angsty idea:
The Nishikiyama Opera!
So I composed the entire thing on a car ride with my wife last week and it’s WILD. Y’all ever see opera? If you’ve never seen an opera you SHOULD, they’re fucking Great. Operas are all about being The Most, comedy or tragedy, they’re all horny as shit and everyone is extra as fuck. If you living for the drama, you HAVE to get your ass to an opera. I’m lucky enough to live somewhere with a relatively robust opera community. And anyway, my point is, The Nishikiyama story? RIPE for an opera adaptation!
First, you gotta know some of the opera tropes. There are two categories of opera, comedies which are kinda rare and tragedies which is... constantly. And operas are pretty good at telling you almost immediately which one they will be. There’s also a lot of meta about the voice parts themselves:
Soprano - heroine, ingenue, beautiful. Will win if this is a comedy, will die if this is a tragedy.
Alto - mothers & witches. Not the heroine. Will probably die regardless of comedy or tragedy. Unless she’s the villain, then she lives in a tragedy.
Tenor - hero. Given the sexiest parts to sing. Sometimes unbearable. Everything is about Him.
Baritone/Bass - fathers & villains. Gorgeous voice, never utilized properly.
Knowing the vocal parts and what they classically represent is key to knowing who will win and who will die in the opera. For example, in Carmen, Carmen is actually an alto, not a soprano, and Don Jose is a tenor. This immediately tells you that shit’s fucked. Tenors are supposed to fall in love with sopranos, never altos. So this story can only end in tragedy because he’s interested in the wrong kind of voice part. There’s even a counterpoint of a soprano who is madly in love with him, and the baritone toreador for Carmen. They’re given their proper voice partners, but Don Jose still pursues Carmen which is a ginormous mistake by operatic tropes.
So, opera education over, picture this:
ACT I  Kiryu (soprano) is the loveliest yakuza in all the land! He’s just delightful. The Chorus sings his praises and he demonstrates his impeccable fighting ability. (Forgot to mention, any opera worth its salt has a Chorus and I will die on this hill.) The Audience is assured of his might and grace.
Kiryu, obviously, does not want for admirers, but has not chosen to court anyone formally.
Here enters Kiryu’s brother, Nishiki (bass). The Chorus explains that Nishiki is second to his brother in strength, but is formidable in his own right. Nishiki explains to the audience how he longs for Kiryu, how he covets him, his strength, his beauty. How after a lifetime together, affection has turned to love. Nishiki must have him.
Kiryu hears none of this. Nishiki approaches to make his case when Majima (tenor) sweeps onto the scene. Majima is brazen and glib. The Chorus tells us to beware his charming smile, he is as dangerous as he is flirtatious. Majima has heard of Kiryu’s reputation and calls him into the street to defend his title. Kiryu responds and they do battle.
In the midst of the battle, Majima finds himself won over by Kiryu’s skill and grace, his kindness and strength. Majima is bursting with love and there and then makes a proposal to Kiryu, offering his whole heart.
Kiryu is stunned. Majima is not a weak fighter, he is not a braggadocio, despite appearances. He was a real challenge and Kiryu was not expecting the fight to take this turn. He is so surprised he cannot make an answer and politely, but quickly, leaves.
Nishiki has been watching the entire time and finds his heart gripped by jealousy. He plots to claim Kiryu for himself and hates Majima bitterly, despite the fact that Kiryu has given no answer. Nishiki believes he knows his brother too well not to know that Kiryu returns his affections even if he won’t say. Nishiki leaves, concocting a plan.
We find Kiryu at his balcony, lamenting his situation. Majima may have been exciting, but Kiryu’s no fool. He has no proof that Majima’s feelings will not waver in time. Majima steals into the garden beneath Kiryu’s balcony and professes his love once more.
Kiryu is startled and makes to flee, but Majima sings so sweetly, entreats so gently, that Kiryu is compelled to stay. Majima doesn’t even ask again, just sings of his feelings. Kiryu, in his heart, is wooed by this. He may have been ready to answer when Nishiki interrupts. Majima quickly hides in the foliage.
Nishiki counters with his own confession, his own proposal. Kiryu is shocked and saddened. He begins to sadly tell his brother that he cannot accept. Nishiki flies into a rage, demanding if there is someone else, someone else Kiryu prefers. Kiryu hesitates, but answers honestly that he has always seen Nishiki as a brother, regardless of any other feelings. He cannot accept Nishiki on the grounds of their previous relationship.
Nishiki was expecting this. He reveals a vial of poison and threatens to drink it unless Kiryu will marry him. Majima gasps. Kiryu pleads with Nishiki not to be rash, but Nishiki only demands his answer, the vial nearly at his lips.
Kiryu swallows back tears and collapses to his knees. Sorrowfully, he agrees, unable to bear the responsibility of his brother’s death, and the act finishes to the sound of clamoring wedding bells.
ACT II The lights come up on Kiryu and Nishiki in their home. Nishiki is pacing the floor and making increasingly outlandish suggestions for things to do. Kiryu says yes to all of them, gently and politely. Nishiki’s frustration and annoyance increases with every yes. Eventually he snaps at Kiryu, demanding why he won’t fight him, demanding why he will give no more reaction than a placid yes. Kiryu shrugs helplessly and tries to soothe his brother, but Nishiki won’t be soothed.
They have been married less than a year and it has been like this the entire time, getting worse by the day. Nishiki can see the pain he’s causing his brother, but can’t stop himself. He loves him too greedily to stop. He departs, hoping to take his mind off things.
Kiryu is left alone in the house and sings a longer, sadder version of his lament from the balcony. Distantly, we hear strains of Majima’s love song, now broken and echoing.
The scene changes and we see Kiryu sat down in a busy cafe. At first we assume he’s alone, but people move and we can see he is sitting across from Majima. They do not touch. Their careful, polite space around each other is conspicuous.
Kiryu is tired, he looks wan, almost sick. Majima sings heartbrokenly, telling Kiryu he needs to take care of himself. He is desperate to take Kiryu away from all this, and asks several times, but Kiryu always sighs and shakes his head no. Majima knows Kiryu will not break his word once given, he is too good and honorable for that. But he cannot help singing for him all the same. He cannot touch, he will not permit himself to touch, but he can sing.
Kiryu eventually cannot take the heartache anymore and departs sorrowfully. Majima looks after him, just as sad. Nishiki is revealed to have been spying on them the entire time. He confronts Majima, furious and accusatory. He insists that he and Kiryu have been having an affair. Majima simply looks at him and shrugs. Nishiki screams for Majima to admit it, to admit that Kiryu loves him, has always loved him, this whole time. Majima only says that Nishiki knows Kiryu best. He will not confirm or deny anything Nishiki says. Shaken and stymied, Nishiki flees.
We return to Kiryu’s balcony, where he sits, silent and pale. Nishiki storms in and begins to berate Kiryu with his accusations. He is half-mad now, not seeming to hear Kiryu’s denials. Kiryu professes over and over that only Nishiki is his husband, that he loves only Nishiki. Nishiki cannot accept this as true. Nishiki screams that Kiryu ought to ask him for a divorce. Kiryu cannot claim to want a divorce. He gave his word. Nishiki reveals that he had been watching them in the cafe, that he knows all, the secret contents of Kiryu’s heart. Kiryu manages some resistance at last and asks Nishiki for proof. What proof of his indiscretions? What proof of adultery? What has Kiryu done that has angered his husband-brother so?
Nishiki has none. Kiryu has not done anything wrong, not in word, not in act. Whatever thoughts he might accuse Kiryu of having are ephemeral and will never be real. Still... Nishiki saw how they looked together and his heart was sore. He knows he has stolen Kiryu from what was rightfully his. Moved to regret, Nishiki withdraws the vial of poison again.
Kiryu gasps and tries to prevent his brother.
Nishiki swallows the poison quickly, insisting this will set things right, this will free his brother. He says he did it for love. He falls.
Kiryu collapses next to him, sobbing.
The final scene is Nishiki’s funeral. Kiryu kneels next to his brother’s grave, all in black. He sings of his regrets, of his sorrow. Majima stands close by, but still not touching. He does not look at the grave, only at Kiryu. His broken love song is the last thing we hear.
The End.
...this opera was a tragedy ^^;

Vagabond - Chapter Three
Vagabond - Chapter Three
Season: Summer
Location: Staff Cafeteria
Tumblr media
Keito: anyway, its not like I can say this with any sort of certainty, but I do think that it would be rather natural to draw a line between this ‘presence’ you’ve been feeling and the onset of these ‘rumors.’
Kuro: ‘rumors’, huh?
(Though it actually would make more sense t’ see them as related if the times match up.
Even so, I can’t just accept that’s the answer without any sorta proof...is this really some kinda ghost story...?
Well, ‘s not like I can say for sure one way or the other considering that I’ve never met a ghost before, but I feel like this ‘presence’ doesn’t match up with what I think that’d be like - ‘s more creepy than outright scary, and it kinda makes me feel uncomfortable.
‘s almost like I’m being watched, but in a way that’s like whoever’s doing it is sizing me up somehow.
After all, if someone that suspicious is hanging around, ‘s not like they can just turn that off.  Or well, Danna seems to think that, but I feel like with the world we live in even dangerous people aren’t always obvious.
Maybe if it was for some kind of bigger goal, the risk to set alla this up and still not get caught would actually be worth it.
If someone that had really thought this through has gotten in here, I don’t want Hasumi-danna and Kanzaki involved...not to mention everyone else).
Yeah, sure, I guess it pays t’ look into it.  I’ll go and get t’ the bottom of alla this.
Keito: rejected.
Kuro: damn, you shot me down just like that?
Keito: I know that when you get all serious and contemplative like that, the end result is that you always decide to forge your own path.
What exactly do you plan on doing by yourself, you idiot.
Souma: indeed.  This type of stand-offish behavior hardly suits you, Kiryu-dono.  If someone that I were to consider a companion is attempting to engage in foolhardy behavior, it would be remiss of me not to intervene.
Kuro: (why am I getting such a strong sense of deja vu...ah, it suddenly came to me - I’ve been told almost exactly the same thing before - )
Tumblr media
Chiaki: (in flashback) You absolute idiot.  Is this really the time to be laughing?  If a friend of mine is about to do something stupid, then I’ll do whatever it takes to stop them!  I’m not entirely sure what you’re trying to do, but I won’t let you go ahead with it.*
Tumblr media
Kuro: (present time) hahaha
Keito: wh-what is it?  Why did you burst out laughing all of a sudden?
Souma: indeed, this is no laughing matter, Kiryu-dono.  We are being completely serious ---
Kuro: I gotcha, I gotcha.  T’ be honest, I didn’t exactly have much of a plan myself.
But I know what you mean - I’m part of this unit, too.
And right now I’m more convinced than ever that I’ve got guys who really do care about me.  It’d be real irresponsible of me to ignore that and waste your good will.
So, here’s my one request: can I count on the two of ya to lend me a hand?
Keito: obviously.  Now, why couldn’t you have started with that, instead?
Souma: that’s right.  We had intended to do so all along, so of course we will assist you!
Kuro: I know ya won’t bow outta this until we see it through.  I appreciate both of ya.
Souma: in any case, where should we begin?  Do we just ask anyone that we encounter if they have heard of these ‘rumors’?
Keito: that wouldn’t do us any good.  You’d just end up looking as the one that’s acting suspiciously, and if Akatsuki became part of that same rumor mill, it could tarnish our reputation.
These rumors are still merely hearsay, slumbering beneath the notice of the majority, so I feel as though the best way to proceed would be to only ask a few select people about it and be as subtle as possible.
We’ve got to move quickly, however, and we can’t let it interfere with our normal activities.  Let’s each act on our own and then meet up to share information when we get the chance.
Souma: understood.  So, who would be the best person to begin with?  I wish there was someone with an obvious connection to ghosts to make this easier...
Kuro: ghost stories, huh...who could we ask...
Well, what about Sakuma?  Isn’t he also in the Mystery Research club?  If anyone’s gonna be in the know about that kinda stuff, it’d be him.
Keito: it’s true that he’s involved with that club, but is a ‘mystery’ really on the same level as a ‘ghost story’...?
Kuro: they’re kinda the same, right, since ghost stories can involve mysteries, too?  And vampires ‘n ghosts’ve gotta be related somehow, I’d think.
Keito: well, it’s not as if I have any better ideas at the moment.  Besides, Sakuma knows more than anyone about what’s going on around him, so there’s a good chance that he may have heard of these ‘rumors’, too.
Kuro: got it.  Then, ‘s time to figure out what he knows.

Rambling as to why the good, stubborn, selfless, determined, strong, and genuinely kind characters do it in for Majima. Like your classic case of when opposites attract, it throttles Majima breathless like a brass-knuckled sucker punch.
Majima, nine times out of ten, will be the crooked man to someone's straight. He's often the more morally debatable sort in the pair, though rarely to be outwardly malicious and more to ensure that he comes out on top. It's about power and survival to the Tojo Clan's Mad Dog, and he's been made to burn out more than any one man should ever care to be. He's got his foul hangups. He's got his cruel baggage. He's got those years worth of scars that has embittered him madly. Jaded and soured beyond measure, Majima bears a pragmatism more severe than most those around him.
And he isn't above ignoring someone's plight if it offers him little in return. He's certainly the potential for sympathy and empathy both, sure, but unlike bleeding heart Kiryu -- mister strapping muscles, mister saintly and beastly both -- he feels no pull to go out of his way. He's not the man to jump out in front of a speeding bullet to defend the downtrodden, or even launch in front of them to throttle a weaker, accosting punk. The world is a cradle of problems, a bedrock for bedlam, and it isn't his fucking job to play its blasted superhero.
He's Majima 'Mad Dog' Goro.
Majima 'I was tortured for a year' Goro.
Majima 'I was played for a fool' Goro.
Majima 'I had failed my brother' Goro.
He doesn't have the capacity to shoulder anyone else's issues. That. Isn't. His. Job.
But the 'good guys', the stubborn fools that will launch themselves headlong into chaos, shoulder all the misery to lend a hand to the battered -- they don't agree. It bewilders Majima. He's suspicious at first, wonders why -- in all his pragmatism and doubt for selflessness -- any one person can be so dumb. He wants to shake them by their shoulders and bark at them to stop, to quit the fucking act because he's not buying it. Not now. Not fucking ever. He's a man where kindness and good often rears its head to reveal lies and grave deceit, and the genuine articles only grant you a lifetime of hurt. See? What's there to gain from this -- all this, all this god damned charity nonsense?
Why?
But they're stubborn, so they don't listen. They buy into their philosophy of do good unto others, but not for want of compensation, but for want for a lighter world. Maybe... Maybe because their own life is absolute garbage? Because they've a martyr complex? Because -- god, Majima doesn't know. But they hold to it, and they stand resolute and bull-headed to his staunch 'realism', unwavering like a stone sat heavy amidst a stream. They will help others with no one else to look up to, and they will bear the hurts and bruises that may come along the way. Why? Because they are strong -- so strong, so strong that the world failed to crumble them -- and to those less than able, they must be the shoulder to lean on. They want to be the good guy because they don't believe there's anything else to be.
They say so -- not in those words exactly, no, but in the determined gleam in their eyes that burns hotly like a flame.
Majima gawks. He roils. He feels a pang of want stirring low in his chest, and he doesn't know that yet, but he will.
And when they turn that kindness, that patience and willingness to endure him for him... Majima red-lights. Then he green-lights in the span of a heartbeat, bristling and defensive like a startled porcupine. With teeth. And fangs. And, surprise, it was actually a rabid doberman the whole entire time. He strives, too, to be strong himself, and the reality of their kindness tastes a little bit like pity. Or... A joke? Haha, here's Majima Goro with his obvious but unclear hangups, and I'm going to rescue him like I'm adding another notch to my belt. Or, hey, maybe I really am sweet -- and, sure, his world may kill me for that, but hey, isn't it all worth trying?
Uh. No. No to both! No to both, he shouts, kicking and clawing.
He can shoulder his own issues (poorly) and he will survive it like he's survived everything else. He doesn't need this... Pity, or this flagrant show of self-sacrifice. He's Majima. Majima god damned Goro. Stop acting so saintly and pure when decency will burn you raw--
They kiss.
He doesn't know how first, but they kiss. He tries to wrangle it into pure passion and heat because there's been a curling want sitting hot and heavy in his belly -- like a stone in the river, but, god, no; don't make him place a word on it -- and sucks on their teeth and the swell of their lips. He scrambles and claws feverishly at the collar of their shirt, and tells them to 'Shut up. I'm workin' here--fuck, been wantin' this' because he doesn't trust them to say something... Soft. Can't.
They sleep together, maybe, and he heaves a strangled sigh out like it rattles out of a blender. His feelings are getting muddled now, but it was only sex -- great sex, yes, but only just.
Yeah, right. They carry on as they are. They're still the savior of the beleaguered, helping starving alleytrash puppies and rushing headlong to end a brawl. A battered businessman is rescued by greedy bikers, and a lost, snot-nosed scamp is led patiently back home. They are like sugar cane sugar and maple tree honey, and, really, it isn't a show at all. Not a play. Not a facade. Not an image that ends after sex. They're sweet and syrupy in their stubborn do-gooder's way because they are, and slowly but surely, it's funneling back into him. They're gentling around him, relaxing despite his shortfalls, listening to nothing because he always gives them nothing. But they wait, patient, and they stay longer than they've the right to. They kissed and fucked a night, yeah -- but honestly, why linger still? Majima growls. He doesn't understand, doesn't grasp this elaborate charade. He despises it all so bitterly because he knows it isn't a charade-- Coulda just dropped what yer playin' at. Coulda just kept things fun, just two pent up fools unwindin' for the hell of it! But now ya wanna start touchin', and talkin', and don't think I don't know you're kissin' like you've been dyin' for it! Shoulda stayed in your lane, but ya never listen. Like talkin' to a brick wall-- They're the one exception to a rule he's nursed for ages. Ya don't know when to quit it when there ain't anythin' left in it for ya. There ain't some nicer, better me waitin' to be discovered! They come in closer, nosing his jaw. He pounds at their chest angrily, and every muscle in his body is coiled to snapping. He feels frazzled, nerves fritzing like wire. Their hands are calming, palms against his waist. You don't have to be perfect. I never asked you to be. Majima grits his teeth because he feels like he's losing. But I have seen you -- and maybe not all of you, but enough to know I'm not running from this. It doesn't have to be complicated. It never had to be. It's just like that. Their lips slope up to the corner of his lips. Losing feels oddly like winning, and he can't grasp that peculiar conundrum. Just like that. Always so damn simple to you, you fuckin'-- They kiss him, soft, searching and patient and asking like he wanted. Majima's words launch up like a rocket up his throat, but it dies there, sputtering, smothered like a bad thought in its cradle. It can die there. He scratches his nails on down the gentle curve of their scalp, and he takes in a broken breath that they chase away with a soothing press of lips. They've kissed a thousand times at this point, probably -- maybe a million -- but this one feels different. Honest. Honest for once. When they fall into bed a mass of tangling limbs and breaths, the sex comes so easy and tender and slow. It stuns them. Who would've thought Majima could be so patient. And in the months that follow, the world's still harsh and menacing. But it all feels more tolerable, like he can bear it a touch easier.

Bloodstained Moonbeams
Fandom: Kamen Rider Build
Relationship: Kiryu Sento/ Banjou Ryuga
Summary: Mage!AU, A certain genius mage has been feeling someone watching him during his nightly walks, but yet, he cannot figure out where its coming from.
Written for: @ katoriharusa  (I WAS SO INSPIRED BY THIS THANK YOU <3)
Rating: Mature?!
When did it get so dark already?
The young dark haired mage started to walk through the dark alley’s of the school grounds, breathing in the cool air of the night.  Looking around he saw the remnants of the school’s students walking about, laughing and carrying on like nothing else mattered in the world.  Probably the last few people coming home from parties, Kiryu Sento thought.
The mage had something better to do, spending his nights locked up in the science lab, filling his mind with formulas and numbers in an attempt to reach  new level in magic that hasn’t been reached before. It was all so fascinating, how could anyone want to party when you could be breaking the laws of physics, time and space?!
Shivering, the lean boy clutched his jacket closer to his body, a gust of wind cutting straight to his bones.  Looking up he watched as the branches of the trees above him swayed in the night sky, allowing beams of fleeting moonlight to dance across the pathways.  The night sky was indeed beautiful tonight…maybe he should take up some stargazing, learn some cosmic magic?  It was a lost art, wild, and rare, the perfect challenge!
Suddenly, Sento stopped in his tracks, goosebumps crawling up his skin underneath his clothes, a strange feeling washing over him.  As if…as if… someone was watching him.
His dark almond shaped eyes swept the area around him, feeling like his senses were going into overdrive from the sense.  But…there was nothing there.  All he could see are leaves falling from trees, and random people walking, but no one paid any mind to the lone magical genius.  It was just the genius mage, and the dancing shadows casted by the moonlight.
Lean fingers clutched at the fabric even tighter, the feeling of uneasiness running through his veins.  The hairs on the back of the boys head was standing on edge, as if he could almost feel the closeness of another presence upon him.  Quickly the boys feet padded the pathway as he made a beeline back to his dorm looming ahead of him.  Although he didn’t see anything, that doesn’t mean something wasn’t there looking in the shadows.
Sento’s breath was running short, each pant coming out in soft clouds, while he quickly leapt up the stone steps to the dorms entrance.  His heart was in this throat as he grabbed the brass door handle, thrusting his key into it unlocking it in one smooth move before throwing the door open. He didn’t even look back before throwing himself through the heavy wooden door, slamming it behind him.
Biting his lower lip anxiously, the mage quickly moved towards his room wanting of the safety of his own space.  Through the hallways the boy went deeper into the dorm, moving towards the far end of the building, the feeling of uneasiness finally lifting before locking himself in. But the moment the boy got into his dorm, Sento moved towards his large windows which was spilling moonlight into the room, to shut himself from the outside world.  But the moment he got to the cold windows to close the curtains, the boy felt the sensation once again.  A sense of being watched, and eyes on just out of his gaze. With one loud swoosh, the dark-haired mage closed the curtains, and moved away, taking in a deep breath.
“Don’t act so irrationally…” Sento sighed to himself, “There is nothing there.”
But for the next few nights, the boy kept feeling the same thing, mysterious eyes on him as he walked through the pathways.  The feeling of being watched, from the moment the mage left his labs late at night, to the moment that he had entered the dorm rooms, and closed his curtains. It was unnerving, those eyes never making a move to get closer to Sento, just staying hidden in the cover of darkness and shadows.  It was a strange mixture of infuriating, exciting, and terrifying at the same time.
Who was this person lurking in the dark? What did he want?  And why was it just following him? Sento could have said something to someone, should have spoken to the headmaster to tell them, gotten himself some sort of protection or escort while he moved around in the night.  But what was he going to say? That he had a bad feeling? That some boogeyman was after him?!
No… the genius  mage had to figure out what was going on and what he was sensing before he decided what he wanted to do.  And as long as, whoever, whatever it was, did not make a move towards him, Sento felt safe enough to walk alone.  It seemed like it would be satisfied with just staying in the shadows, and watching the mage.  With Sento’s depth of knowledge defensive magic and other types, he felt secure enough to wonder off his normal path after a few nights and wonder past the tree lines next to him.
The night sky was covered in shades of black and gray, dark clouds covering most of the stars and the full moon out that night leaving the boy very little line of sight.  With a soft whisper and flick of his thin wrist, Sento’s fingertips glowed softly, fathering the light quickly into his palm until it formed into a beautiful sphere.  The area around the boy was finally lit up, a warm white glow casting long shadows all around him.
“Ah…” The boys almond eyes squinted into the darkness, his feet quietly crunching the dead leaves underneath him.  There it was…The sensation of being watched, eyes on him, burning holes in the back of his head.  But once again, nothing was seen…
Further and further the boy went in, his free hand gently clutching at the thick fabric of his mage robes, trying to keep himself warm from the night air. Sento’s breath came out in soft cloud, slowly wondering in the darkness.
“Hello?” His voice broke the nighttime silence, getting lost amongst the trees.  But all he got back was the sounds underneath his feet of crunching forest, the presence still keeping quiet.  “Come on out…I know you’re there!”
He had hoped that by moving into the wooded area, and separating himself from the rest of the random prying eyes, the mage could’ve lured the presence out.
“Look…Im alone…Do you want to tell me something?...”
Nothing…
“You must be doing this for a reason? Do you need me for some reason?” His voice was more insistent, hoping that he tried to reason with it, the person who had been quietly stalking him would step finally out of the shadows.
But once again, Sento got nothing but silence in return.
But after moving far enough into the forest, Sento pursed his lips in annoyance, letting out a huff of air.
“Fine. If you want to keep being a voyeur and stare at me all night, keep doing it! Kiryu Sento is quite great, so its no wonder I have an admirer! So if you are too scared to be in my presence, fine, stay in the dark!”
The last part was overly smug, and antagonistic, but Sento didn’t care.  He was growing frustrated exploring this dark scenery, the night air slowly starting to sink into his bones, chilling the lean mage to the bone. Not only that but he didn’t want to waste any more of his magical energy on this light spell on a wild goose chase. His energy should be spent in the lab, bending the rules of reality, like the genius he was.
Sento’s free hand gripped his soft robe, pulling it closer around his thin shoulders before turning around, back towards the path the wondered in from. The whole way back though, those eyes bore into the back of his skull, following him as he stepped back out into the main path and the open area.
Frustrated, tired, and cold, the lean boy decided he was done for the night trying to get to the bottom of the mystery.  One more night of being eerily watched wouldn’t kill him…hopefully.   Shutting the heavy wooden door of the dorm, Sento slowly made his way through the dim hallways unlocking the door to his dorm while his mind was filled with formulas, and ideas on how to craft new spells.
Sighing heavily, the mage stepped into his room,  his thin fingers flicking on the light switch, flooding the space in light.  Sento suddenly stopped in his footsteps, his almond eyes going wide as he noticed immediately from across the room.  The moon must have came out from behind the dark clouds, because behind the heavy curtains of the large balcony windows, stood a large human sized shadow.  As quickly as the shadow appeared, it disappeared, the moon once again taking away the natural light, making the mage think he was seeing things.
Dropping his bag, Sento slowly moved towards the window, holding his breath as if he would scare off whatever it was he just saw. “…Hello?...”
His fingers were already moving besides him, the mages voice barely a whisper as he began weaving a spell of power underneath his breath.  The closer the boy got, the harder his heart beat in his lean chest. He didn’t hear any reply from the thing in his balcony, filling Sento with a mix of excitement and dread.  As he reached out to the fabric of the curtain, the shadows once again changed, the silhouette still there, unmoving, and unafraid.
“Hello?...Who are you?! And how…” Grabbing the fabric, Sento threw the curtains apart, and stared, wide eyed at the form standing in front of him, “-How did you get here…”
The moon escaped the clouds, the balcony being showered in moonlight allowing the genius mage to clearly see the form that stood outside his window.  Standing perfectly balanced on the balcony rail was a tall male, dressed in a midnight black suit, accented by small touches of milky white pearls, as if they were little glowing balls of magic.  The figure tilted his head, the wind picking up just slightly, combing through the mysterious boys messy dark chocolate hair.
“Ah…” Letting out the breath he was holding, Sento shivered feeling those same eyes he felt before, fall upon him once again.  “I-Its you…”
His words were a whisper, but yet, he could see the other respond, the mysterious stranger’s lips curl up slightly in response, as if he heard it perfectly.  The mage, felt his hair stand on edge, the sparks of energy in his fingertips growing stronger in response of this possible threat standing in front of him.  Although he was just outside taunting the unknown stalker, trying to force him out of the darkness, he had no idea that the person would just show up outside his door just like this. Much less, precariously standing on the balcony metal railing as if it was nothing.   It was just…unnerving…
But the mysterious creature didn’t seem to fear the defensive action, as he lifted his hand, and lazily pointed to the door handle; a silent request to open the door.
Gnawing at his lower lip, Sento stood still, his mind racing with thoughts, now that he was faced with his stalker what was he going to do? Should he open the door, and hear what this stranger had to stay?
The stranger must have been feeling impatient with the lack of movement, as he parted his lips, his mouth moving to form words.  But through the window, Sento couldn’t hear him, couldn’t but actions spoke strong enough that finally understood.  Pointing once again to the door handle, his mouth moved again, ‘Open the door.’
Finally, Sento had to make a decision, just like when he attempted new experimental magic, he had to take action; if he was to continue and find something new, or pull back and not learn anything at all.  Sucking in breath slowly, the mage reached out taking hold of the cold handle, before slowly unlocking it, twisting it in his free hand.  Just as he cracked it opened, the boys charged hand slowly slipped through the open space, his voice coming out as a firmly and fearless as possible.
“Don’t move…! This spell is my own and its pretty nasty if I do say so myself!”
The self proclaimed genius watched carefully, as the stranger lifted both his hands, signaling that he was not going to attack.  Taking a deep breath, Sento carefully opened the door even further, allowing his form to stand in the door way, but not taking one step closer to the other. Shivering, the boy felt the cold air on him again, a breeze coming through again, cutting through his clothes and tussling the stranger’s messy hair.
“Heh…You call me out here like this, and yet you hide behind the door like a bunny.” The stranger’s smooth voice mocked him from his place, that smile still clear on his face.  His dark eyes followed the mage’s arm, falling upon Sento’s glowing fingertips, spell at the ready. “…I am sure you didn’t call for a fight, so put that down, I’m not going to attack you.”
Hesitation filled the mage, as he stood there staring down at the boy, unsure if he should undo the spell or not.  After a moment of quick calculations, Sento, sighed to himself letting the spell dissipate in the night air, if the stranger wanted to attack him, the mage was confident that he could quickly react and defend himself.  Narrowing his almond eyes at the other, the boy decided to finally ask the questions that had been burning in his mind since the start of their little dance.
“I called you,” The lean genius began, his tone slightly biting, “Because I want to know why you keep stalking me! … Who, are, you?”
“I thought you were smarter than that, always locking yourself up in the labs, carrying those large books.  I would think it was pretty obvious by now…”
That got Sento’s attention, the insulting words triggering sparks of anger and resentment within him. His mind quickly went over everything he knew, the stranger making it pretty clear that there were enough clues for him to figure out his identity.  He only felt the boys presence at night…hidden in the shadows…and somehow he had the balance to stand there on the balcony with perfect balance…And-
And…those eyes…were..were they glowing?!
Suddenly, Sento’s voice came out in a soft, breathless whisper, “…Vampire…”
The boy tensed up, taking a step back into the safety of his dorm room, his almond eyes growing wide with the realization.  How did he not realize it before?!  “W-What do you want?! ”
Vampires were not something that mages ran into every day, they were rare creatures that stalked the night, and only appeared when they were hungry.  Quickly taking advantage of their prey to feed, and then disappearing once again in the night, leaving the human usually anemic and tired. Very rarely did they truly hurt someone past that…but even more unheard of, was this stalking that this vampire was doing.
“Vampire’s don’t normally stalk their dinner, so…what do you want?”
There it was again, that insufferable smug look, a scoffing sound escaping the stranger, “Heh, so those books aren’t just for show…”
“It’s cold for you right now isn’t it? Why don’t we take this conversation back there?” Eyes flickered past the mage, the stranger eyeballing the dorm room behind them.
That definitely got Sento’s attention, goosebumps crawling over his skin from the words.  There wasn’t a lot known about these creatures, usually most of what was written was olden lore, with nothing scientific to back it up. But while studying the lean mage had learned one common thing…’don’t invite a vampire in’. They cannot come into their prey’s residence without an express invite, allowing it to be a safe haven for Sento at the moment.
“Maybe it isn’t me who is being dense,” The mage evenly said, “I know what you are now, and that you have to be invited in here…“
Sento felt a rush of smug accomplishment, as if he had won at a game of chess, his lips curling up into a taunting smile at the other.  But it once again didn’t phase the mysterious vampire, the boys hands slowly finding their way into his dress pants pockets, the tall form leaning forward slightly.
His voice was barely a whisper, only meant for the mage to hear, “Yes…but don’t you want to know why I’ve been watching you?”
And there it was, this vampire somehow knowing Sento’s weakness spot, his curiosity.  The mage’s eyes narrowed, his teeth sinking into his bottom lip in obvious irritation.  They were at a stalemate, if the mage didn’t invite the boy in, it was clear that the vampire would never tell him anything.  And not knowing…would kill him. None of his questions would be answered, the mystery still there, never being answered.
That was completely unacceptable…
Sento hated being trapped like this, his normally sharp mind keeping himself one step ahead of the other, but this time, he found himself unable to resist.  His desire for knowledge, quickly outweighing his fear. Plus, he could spellweave faster than anyone else he knew, crafting things together that others have never thought of.  He should be safe…right?
“…Fine…come in.”
With catlike grace, the boy in the dark suit dropped from his perch, his feet silently landing on the balcony.  Sento took a defensive step back, realizing when the boy stood up straight, the vampire was not only taller, but had a more intimidating frame than the mage.  It sent a shiver of nervousness down the boys spine, but he had already agreed, no turning back now.  Stepping back, the lean magical genius backed up into the room, not wanting to turn his back on the other.
Following Sento into the dorm room, the dark haired stranger’s eyes swept across the room taking in the space.  The bookshelves filled with books and tomes, his table covered in papers, and spell materials strewn all over the place. It was just a physical expression of how Sento’s mind worked, messy and filled with formulas and thoughts.
Finally, the mage stood in front of the vampire, his arms crossing over his lean chest, “Now that you are here, start with your name.”
“Banjou Ryuga…” Without hesitation, the vampire introduced himself smoothly, his gaze turning back to the lean mage.
Sento couldn’t hide his expression as he eyes widened in surprise, shocked how easily the vampire gave his name.  But, it could’ve been a cover, who knows, it wasn’t like Banjou had any reason to actually give him his real name.
“Kiryu…Sento.” But even so, Sento gave him his real name, watching as the other boy slowly made his way around the boys dorm.  Banjou walked around, almost as if he was floating, staring at everything without acknowledging the other’s name.
“So…you really pour yourself into your studies…don’t you? Its no wonder why you always travel alone at night.”
The words caused the mage to stiffen, gnawing at his lower lip in irritation.  Although he knew that he was being watched, it was really unnerving hearing his stalker saying it so nonchalantly; as if there was nothing wrong with it.  Fire was building underneath Sento’s skin, suddenly feeling furious that he was being so carefully followed, enough so that this vampire knew he was alone.   What he got himself into, inviting such a person in his home?!
Trying to keep his tone even, the genius mage finally asked, “So tell me, why were you following me?”
Silence followed, the vampire known as Banjou obviously finding everything else more interesting than the mage. The taller boys finger’s gently dragging across large old books strewn across the large wooden desk of dorm room. Sento could see the fine dust flying from the tome, dancing in the pale light like fairy dust in the air.
Impatiently, the lean genius moved forward, instinctually reaching out to grab the vampire and turn him around. He just HATED to be ignored!
“A-AH!”
The world quickly spun in front of Sento’s eyes, as a loud whoosh, swept past his ears. The boy let out a strangled cry, feeling the cold wall suddenly pressing into his back knocking the air out of his lungs.  Sento’s almond eyes widened in fear, his body stiffening from the sharp sound of a hand smacking the wall next to the boys head.
The boy watched silently, the taller boy leaning in closer, those glowing eyes narrowing slowly. “At first, you just looked like a quick snack…small…lean... But…”
His voice lowered into a dark rumble, “You were interesting…”
Sento's breath hitched, feeling the warmth of the boys words caressing his skin. His heart was pounding against his lean chest like a hammer watching as if in show motion as the other boy inched closer.
“Interesting…?”
Leaning down Banjou murmured, words just meant for the mage, “I watched you every night, going in and out of the labs, alone. Perfect prey…but somehow you noticed me…”
“Not only did you notice me, you left me alone! But then tonight, heh, tonight you taunted me-”
Although the boy was terrified he couldn't help the small smile that crossed his lips. “-But it got you to come out of hiding didn't it?”
Banjou growled softly at being interrupted, leaning in closer, “I'm done playing cat and mouse…” The boys’ breath tickled the genius mage's skin, raising goosebumps all over.
“I'm claiming my prize.”
Sento's breath was coming out in soft gasps, feeling as if it's hard to breathe when they were this close. But even so, his lips began to move, words of power spilling from them, his body immediately reacting from some sense of danger. Normally, the moment the words left his mouth, his body would tingle with magic, the rules of reality bending to his will.
Instead of miracles though, the boys magic didn't respond, the spell he was weaving failing to even spark. “Eh-?! Why-!?”
But the words were cut off as Banjou scoffed, “When all that studying and you don't even know what inviting me in does.”
‘Huh?’ Sento's brain began turning, trying to go through all of his knowledge, trying to figure out what the boy meant.  What was the lore again? What did he agree to when he invited the vampire in?
The wait must have been too long for the brunette with the messy hair  sighed, reaching out to grab Sento's chin. The lean boy gasped in surprise, stiffening from the sudden touch of the boys cool hands.
“The moment you let me in, is the moment that any sort of magic won't work on me! You WANTED me here!”
Pulling gently at the boys chin, Sento watched as the other boy's pink tongues slid across his lips. His eyes glowed with hunger, causing the boy to squirm slightly underneath the gaze.
“So instead of fighting this, offer me your neck~”
A sense of panic filled the small mage, unable to remember the last time that his magic didn't work. Sento's hands immediately lifted, pressing hard against the firm chest of the other, trying to gain space. But the other held firm, not allowing the boy any space, heat dancing between them.
“What makes you think that I'll just, let, you?!” Sento hissed, trying to sound tough. The boys wrist was suddenly grabbed, plucked from the air as the genius mage was trying to push the boy away.
“H-Hey!”
“I didn't expect you to, figured an egghead like you would need a bit of convincing…”
A thumb passed over the boys thin bottom lip, “Why don’t we think about it as one of those experiments you care so much about? All those hours working in the labs, why not try something out in real life?”
Now that got Sentos’ attention, the young mage stiffening underneath the gentle touch. “W-What?”
The words came out in a soft breath, his almond eyes narrowing defiantly back at the intimidating vampire.
“Why…why would I do such a dangerous thing?!”  Even though the boy spent countless hours researching, and experimenting, pushing himself to his body’s limit, this seemed…extreme.  Did the vampire really expect him to just agree to this; to something so dangerous?
But the boy was intrigued, all he could think about was the fact there was such little known about the feeding behavior of vampires.  The books only explaining the obvious, that they fed off blood when hungry, normally leaving their prey in a dazed state, or rumor had it, if they were really hungry…left dry.  There was even unsubstantiated claims that people were found with marks, but not remember being attacked at all, as if the persons memory was completely wiped clean somehow. It was all 2nd hand knowledge…and right in front of him were answers.
“…Because you want to know how it feels…first hand experience that these books cant give you. I figure a Brainiac like you would jump at this chance.”
Sento’s mind was churning, hating the fact that he seemed so damn predictable.  That Banjou could so easily tempt him, dangling the idea of learning first hand in front of him.  Progress in any sort of study requires at some point something dangerous to learn something new.  If you were not willing to do this…then nothing will ever change.
Lifting his hand, the mage slapped Banjou’s grip away, “If I agree, you have to promise no funny business… Only take what you need, and I want to remember everything ok, for research!”
A smug, knowing smile crossed the vampire’s lips, “Of course, if that is what you want! Now…do we have a deal?”
He shouldn’t be doing this, he shouldn’t be giving into the temptation of learning something new, of being a pioneer…but…the idea was too much to resist for the mage.  Biting his lower lip, Sento hesitated for a moment before he steeled himself, nodding gently in agreement.
“Deal…”
No sooner than the words left the boys thin lips, the vampire leaned in again his hand sliding behind the boys head to take hold of his hair.  Fingertips combed through the genius’ dark tresses, coaxing his head back and to the side, baring his pale neck.
“Ah…” Sento shivered, his almond eyes fluttering closed with the gentle pulling of his scalp.  Licks of heat shot down his spine with the simple curious sensation, his body tensing with what was about to happen.  The boys heartbeat was hammering in his thin chest, the rush of anticipating causing the sound of rushing blood to fill his ears. Normally, the idea of his hair being pulled would make the mage wince in pain, but for some reason, the way that the boy was doing it, it just felt…so good.
The lean body of Banjou leaned in closer, filling Sento’s nose with a wonderfully woodsy scent.  No… It was more like the smell of a crisp cool night, and bonfires, something about it was just so inviting.
“I can hear your heartbeat…” The vampire murmured, the boys breath tickling his ear, “So fast…like a rabbit…”
Before he could stop himself, Sento made a soft whimpering noise, goosebumps immediately raising on his skin.  His whole body was humming with anticipation, squirming slightly while he pressed himself closer to the wall.
“And…you smell…so good up close…”
Shivering, Sento could feel Banjou’s body press gently against his, soft breathing against his skin. It was as if time slowed down for the mage, waiting anxiously for the sensation of his skin being torn apart by sharp razor teeth.  But instead, the boy felt cool lips against his neck, gentle brushes of his mouth across his skin, right above his quickening pulse.
“Mmm…”  Sento’s normally busy mind, was quickly falling quiet, his body reacting on its own.  Breathless sighs rose from him, the mage’s delicate fingers reaching up to grab on the soft fabric of the boys suit.  Just what was he doing?  This was a dangerous creature and yet-
“Ah…!”
Fingers curled tighter, gripping the suit with a new sense of purpose feeling something hot and wet drag across his neck.
“Heh…” Banjou’s tongue slid against the boys pulse again, a soft chuckle dancing in Sento’s ears, “…Such a honest body…”
Shame suddenly filled the lean mage, his cheeks flushing hotly with how true the words were. Sento couldn’t stop himself, the slow, lazy drag of the boys tongue on him caused him to mewl and squirm uncontrollably.  He could feel himself subconsciously tilt his head even further giving the vampire even more access to his sensitive pale neck.  The mage hated it, normally in control of the situation, his logical mind giving him an advantage over the more emotional mages around him.
“…Do…Do you always tease your meals like this?...” Sento breathlessly shot back, his voice carrying an edge to it, “…Banjou-ah~”
Another teasing tongue, chased by a playful brush of the vampire’s lips, an amused tone to Banjou’s voice, “Don’t complain…I’m being gentle…”
“Now, come here…”
A strong arm quickly snaked around the boys thin waist, pressing the two boys flushed together, earning the vampire a shameless whimper from the mage.  With another firm tug of the boys hair, Sento heard a soft animalistic grow in his ears followed by a sharp pain shooting down his neck.
“HNNG!” A pained cry escaped the lean mage, his almond eyes shooting open momentarily in surprise, “Aaah…!”
Gripping the boys dark suit, Sento clung onto the vampire for dear life, the breath knocked out of his lungs from the sensation.  Banjou’s teeth, was searing and hot, cutting through the boys delicate skin like a hot knife.
“Mmm…!”
The young mage could hear the rushing of blood in his ears, mixing with the sounds of the vampire greedy drinking from his neck.  A hand pressed hard into the small of Sento’s back, their hips pressing right up against each other until there was no space between them, forcing a needy mewling noise from the small mage.  It was all too much, the small genius’ eyes rolling back in his head, shivering with overstimulation.
Sento could feel the eagerness of the boy leaning over him, the vampire’s jaws clamping down on the boys lean throat.  Although the initial bite was a bit painful, the longer Banjou fed from him, the less of it he felt, quickly being replaced by a dull sense of pleasure.  It was like the high he got casting a complicated spell…warm…fuzzy… good. A delicious rush that overcame him like a drug.
“Mmmph...!” A low pleasured moan escaped the vampire, the rumble being felt by the lean mage.
Banjou must have been hungry, the boy drinking from the self-proclaimed genius as if there was no tomorrow. But the longer those teeth were in him, the more lightheaded the lean mage became, the blood lost slowly getting to him.  Leaning even more against the wall behind him, Sento found himself using it as extra support while the other fed on him.  The brunette must have felt the change in the mage, the fingers in his hair and against his waist pressed even harder to keep him in place while Banjou fed.
“B..an…” Whimpering Sento’s fingers clawed gently at the boys firm chest, “…B..anjou…”
Going into this, Sento had no idea what to expect, he thought it would be all pain, as if he was cut and bleeding from a knife cut…But this was….this was, mind blowing.  His body was moving on its own, squirming slightly underneath the boys teeth, his hips jerking up to meet Banjou’s. Lightening was shooting down the boys body, pooling heat at his waist, the mage’s body being stimulated in a way that has never been before.
It was nothing like what the book said…It was possessive…hot…pleasurable.
The genius was becoming plaint in the boys arms, weak to the sensations he was being bombarded with.  Time stopped for the two boys, the only thing that Sento could fathom at that moment was the firm body of the vampire pressing into him.  All he knew is that he wanted this to keep going, to feel this high as long as he possibly could.
But, everything has to come to an end, and after what seemed like seconds of pleasure, Sento could feel Banjou’s jaw slowly give up its hold. Mewling softly, the mage shivered, feeling a low lazy tongue slide across his neck.  “Mmm…!”
“Ah…” Another pass, tongue dragging carefully over the pinpricks where the teeth sunk in, “…I didn’t think…you would taste so good…”
Sento’s head rolled back into place, struggling to open his heavy eyelids, “Mm?...”
Slowly, the mage’s almond eyes fluttered open, lifting his gaze, to meet the glowing eyes of Banjou.  The grip that the vampire had on Sento’s chin was slowly dropped, but the grip on his thin waist stayed, keeping them close.
Whispering softy, the vampire repeated himself, “…You taste…delicious…”
The breath got caught in Sento’s throat staring at him in disbelief, shivering in the arms of the vampire, the words dark and intimate, “I…do?”
“Whats say…I visit you when Im hungry…-“
“Ah!” A loud squeak escaped Sento, feeling the boys hand fall to his ass, giving it a firm teasing squeeze.
“And, Ill fill that egghead of yours with knowledge only vampires know…”
“Eh?” For a moment, Sento almost didn’t believe his hears, his mind hazy as he tried to comprehend what he just heard. He wanted to do an exchange? Blood for information?  Biting into his lower lip, the genius wished he could pause time momentarily to go over the offer.  But, like before the idea of gaining knowledge that no one else had was tempting…and….Blushing hotly, Sento’s gaze fell slightly catching slight of the small pearl fangs in the moonlight, a sudden desire to feel them once again filling him.
“I’ll do it…”  Sento breathed softly, “I…want to learn more…”
Chuckling to himself, the vampire gave a toothy grin, “Deal.”

“Rider Rewrites: Build” + Theories about the Future of Build’s Story
Fuuuuuuck me, it’s been literally years since I’ve done Rider Rewrites. In fact, so long that I only ever made one Rider Rewrites, and that was for Ghost, a season that a lot of people have problems with (like the main character, though like I said in it, I actually enjoyed Ghost). So for a while I was thinking “I’ve been free from college for a while, so why not try doing Rider Rewrites again?” and here we are. I’m gonna do Build, since it DID recently finish, and I’ve already gotten a few ideas about what I’d change with it. This is also gonna have my opinions about the final episode in general (since it seems like there are quite a number of people who didn’t like it), and also my theories about where Build’s story will take them, primarily with the Zi-O crossover movie (since I’m sure what I’ll theorize with the Build arc in the TV series proper will be debunked fast) and Build NEW WORLD.
So since it’s been a long while since I’ve done a Rider Rewrites, I feel like I should restate my criteria as well as add some new ones:
- I’m only doing KR seasons that I’ve personally watched to the end, which are Kuuga, Ryuki, Blade, Den-O, Kiva, and all of the Phase 2 Heisei Riders. - No requests, I’m only doing this ‘cuz I feel like it. - Again no actual schedule, but this time I’m hoping to do at least a few more after this. - This is heavily opinion based, so there are definitely gonna be disagreements with what I’d do. I’m fine with different ideas and opinions, just as long as you respect mine as well. - This is all written under the premise that I'm a writer with an “infinite” budget, since I understand that with the restrictions that the real staff and cast have (such as cost of effects, timing, and having to edit things to fit a standard-length episode), they likely wouldn’t be able to do it. - My changes are likely not going to be in chronological order, it’ll probably be all over the place in terms of thinking. - I’m doing this without any knowledge about Kamen Rider Build: Be the One, so any changes that I’d make that are answered in the movie, I’ll take back. This will likely be the same for any future Rider Rewrites, since I’m intending to do these immediately after the TV series itself has finished, as it’s typically where my ideas for changes is the freshest.
With that out of the way, let’s get down to it.
SUMMARY:
The setting; 10 years ago, a space mission to Mars brought back a mysterious item dubbed the Pandora Box. Amidst the celebration of finding such an item, a mysterious man interrupts the ceremony by touching the alien artifact, which activates it and creates a giant wall known as the Skywall that emits a red glow, and divided the country of Japan into three new ones, Touto, Hokuto, and Seito. The light that was emitted from the Pandora Box’s activation affected the minds of those present there, namely Gentoku Himuro, who was there in place of his father, future Touto Prime Minister Taizan Himuro, who couldn’t make it, future Hokuto Prime Minister Yoshiko Tajimi, and future Seito Prime Minister Masakuni Mido. Their minds were affected by turning them into war-thirsty people who sought to use the power of the Pandora Box to their desires, and it was only by Taizan Himuro’s intervention that the Pandora Box was kept out of everyone’s hands. But in the background, a mysterious organization known as Faust begins to act, desiring to take the Pandora Box for itself.
Build follows the amnesiac genius physicist and scientist Sento Kiryu, the titular Kamen Rider Build, who seeks to find out his true identity, as well as convicted murder and former MMA fighter Ryuga Banjou, who transforms into Kamen Rider Cross-Z. They are aided by Soichi Isurugi, a mysterious man who runs the cafe nascita and acts as support by providing information in the lab underneath the cafe, his daughter Misora, who uses her connections as the internet idol Mii-tan to get information as well as being the one responsible for purifying the Fullbottles, which are necessary for Sento and Ryuga to transform with, and Sawa Takigawa, a reporter who’s in need of a big scoop, who also uses her connections to provide information to the Riders. Together, the nascita team fights against Faust and their leaders, Night Rogue, a malevolent man with the powers of the Bat Fullbottle, and Blood Stalk, his lackadaisical second-in-command who has his own plans and intentions. But underneath it all, things are much more complicated than it seems....
MY OVERALL OPINION:
I love Kamen Rider Build. It’s easily one of my favorite KR seasons I’ve ever seen. it’s not perfect, I can acknowledge that. Hell, if it were, I’d probably wouldn’t even be doing this Rider Rewrites for it. But that doesn’t change how I feel about it. I really enjoyed the characters, the plot, the designs, everything about it. But with that said, let’s get into
WHAT I’D CHANGE:
- First off, I think what I’d change is the introductory scene for the Hokuto Three Crows and Kamen Rider Grease. While it wasn’t bad, per se, it did come to my attention some time ago that in that introductory scene, Akaba uses a laser to destroy several buildings (probably killing a bunch of innocent bystanders while doing it) because he was getting bored waiting for Kazumi to join them. Which severely clashes with how we’re supposed to feel bad when he dies fighting against Gentoku as Kamen Rider Rogue. Instead of having Akaba lasering those buildings, I’d have the scene be that Kiba and Aoba are watching their tablet, and they turn around to face Akaba as the Castle Hard Smash, punching away at a Guardian he destroyed before using his laser on it (significantly weaker than what we see in the show, the trade-off being that he can use it more often as an attack now, since he barely used it in the first place). Kiba would chide Akaba about disobeying Kazumi (since I’m also imagining that the beam would damage another building (just not as much as in the original scene), but it would zoom out to show that Kiba is sitting on a Guardian he destroyed, and Aoba had planted a foot on one he did. Akaba would then detransform, revealing that he was different from a regular Smash, and would call out to Kazumi, it playing out much like in the original scene, where we see him having broken through the Skywall as Kamen Rider Grease and having destroyed the Touto Guardians. I feel like this change would help make the Hokuto Three Crows more earning of sympathy, since Akaba wouldn’t have just unnecessarily caused large-scale devastation. - For that matter, give some more time to the Hokuto Three Crows, since we barely know them outside of their relation to Kazumi. Aoba suffers this the most, since he dies first and very early on. According to Kazumi, he was a person who really cared about his friends, and would even cry for a complete stranger. I would like to actually see that, like give Aoba a scene where after he had fought a couple of Guardians (or the Riders), he sees a civilian scared to death of him, and tells them to go, that he’s not there to hurt them. Make him the most like Kazumi in that regard, so that his death stings him and the other two all the more. - Related to giving characters more screentime, do the same with the Washio Brothers. As they were in the series, they were just to be the “sidekicks” to Gentoku while he was on Seito’s and Nanba’s side and little else. For Fu, I’d like to emphasize his relationship with Rai a lot more. Make it that while he’s loyal to Nanba, Rai is the person he cares just a little more about. For instance, have it that when Rai goes back after losing to Kazumi in the Touto-Seito battle, Fu tells him that he’ll take care of things in a genuine tone, and do a brotherly handshake of sorts with him (which would be when Rai hands him his Gear Engine to let him transform into Hell Bro’s). And have it that whenever Rai’s down, Fu is always concerned for him before Rai insists on him finishing the job and tossing his Gear Engine to him. For Rai, I’d emphasize his prideful nature and loyalty to Nanba a lot more. Like, make it being a Nanba Child is a badge of honor for him, especially since he was the one chosen to be the Engine Bro’s. Have it so that in a lot of the fights we have with him, he’s talking down against his opponents about how inferior they are to him because he’s a Nanba Child and they’re not, and that with each fight that he loses, he becomes increasingly desperate to show that he’s superior to the point when he and Fu are offered to take the Nebula Gas infusion before their fight with Evolt, that he’s readily accepts it and pressures Fu to do the same (who I’d imagine would be just a liiiiiiittle apprehensive, but not too much as to not do it since he’s that loyal to Nanba as well), and that he has an even bigger breakdown about Evol being that much stronger than them, even after that Nebula Gas infusion. But still have Rai going down swearing his allegiance to Nanba, but this time as a way to comfort himself about the fact that not only is he not as strong as he thought he was, but that he’s now dying in front of his brother. Also, I think there could’ve been more of an effort to give the Washio Brothers more interactions with each of the characters, since they really don’t have any sort of significant relationship to any of the characters, even to Utsumi and Sawa, both of whom are also Nanba Children with them. - Show Sawa doing her espionage and information gathering. As funny as the “It’s better that you don’t know” gag is for me, I do understand the frustration some people have about her being this incredible character, yet we rarely ever see her doing her thing. Personally, the lack of her actions I chalk it up to the fact that doing unsuited stunts is that it’s time-consuming to teach actors who don’t have any experience with doing their own stunts, that using unsuited stunt doubles is harder to do since you have to match their physique to the actor’s/actress’s, and that it’s altogether too much money and too much of a risk that could injure them. For the purposes of Rider Rewrites, we’ll be ignoring that. Let’s see Sawa take down a bodyguard in front of a doctor who has access to Banjou’s medical records, let’s see Sawa sneak around to get information, just show her doing more things.          - On a related/off-topic side note, I don’t really necessarily think that just giving her the role of like, another Rider or a Rider-like user is really conducive to her character. Like I understand the want for more female Kamen Riders/Rider-like characters, but I personally don’t see it as something entirely necessary. Honestly, in my opinion it kinda makes it feel like the female characters are only useful if they can transform and fight alongside male Riders, and that’s sorta more disrespectful, since we have just as many non-Kamen Rider/Rider-like male characters. Though admittedly with Build, there were none of those. Plus, if it’s on the basis that “we need more female representation in Kamen Rider”, I feel like Magical Girl shows like Pretty Cure kinda fill a similar niche. - Give Utsumi more of a personality other than just being a blind follower of whoever’s the main villain at the moment. Like show more of his inventive side, but have Nanba and Blood Stalk/Evolt dismiss his original inventions and praise the ones that he’s copied, and show his frustrations with that more, but that it’s not enough to break his loyalty to Nanba. Also do more hints about his nature as a cyborg, since that’s one of the few things I feel like genuinely comes out of nowhere in Build besides a few jokes about him being one. Like have Blood Stalk/Evol make fun of him for thinking so much like a computer, or have Utsumi move around a little unnaturally at some points (mainly whenever he’s transformed into Night Rogue or MadRogue). - On the topic of Vernage, I don’t really have a problem with how she’s used, especially within the context of the series, since she’s on a time-limit that grows shorter each time her powers are used. People seem to think that she’s done nothing, but remember, without her emptying the Touto Fullbottles and her defeating Evolt so many years ago, we wouldn’t have a story. - I don’t necessarily have a problem with Sento as a character, but as a Rider, I feel like we should’ve gotten him to use more of his Forms, especially since we’ve established early on that he likes to use different Best Matches and Trial Forms to his advantage. Like, let’s see more of his Best Matches with the Fullbottles we rarely see, even if it’s only used once in the series. Let’s see him use Best Matches like BeetleCamera, or DogMic, or TurtleWatch, or UniRaser, any of them. It’s a shame that later on he mainly relies on RabbitRabbit, TankTank, and Genius Form. Speaking of which, let’s see Genius Form use more of the Fullbottle powers. We see Sento use the Diamond Fullbottle’s powers to defend himself against Evolt’s attack in one episode, so I don’t see any reason why he couldn’t use the other Fullbottle powers as well. - Related to the lack of Form usages later on in the series, we can also circumvent this by just using the Fullbottle finishers of weapons that can use them, like the Drill Crusher, the Beat Closer, the Twin Breaker, the Transteam/Nebulasteam Guns, the Knuckles, and the Fullbottle Buster. Like let’s see the effects of using those Fullbottles have on the weapons, as well as use them more for Charge/Discharge Crushes. - For Ryuga, I’d say that I’d like to see him use the basic Cross-Z suit for a little longer before upgrading into Cross-Z Charge, since it didn’t get to really shine, even after he had to go back to the Build Driver, since he almost immediately gets Cross-Z Magma. Same deal with Great Cross-Z, since it’s a fantastic repaint of basic Cross-Z, though I don’t mind its lack of usage as much as I do with basic Cross-Z. As a character, I don’t have any problems with him. In fact, he’s easily become one of my favorite secondary Riders, and I’m absolutely excited that he’s getting his own V-Cinema next year. He deserves it. - If there’s anything related to Ryuga I would change, I would add more new scenes of him and Kasumi to make it so that we feel a bigger connection between them. Like I love how he still thinks about her even after the 2/3rd point of the series, but it’s always of the same scene. Like, show me more scenes of them together so I can feel like it’s a real relationship. - Kazumi’s character I feel like was fine, but I would definitely tone down his fanboy tendencies at some points, since it was a little over-the-top. I wouldn’t get rid of them, just tone them down a little bit. I’d also wouldn’t give him a new form before Grease Blizzard, since I feel like the impact of Grease Blizzard is because it’s a new form and that it was dangerous thanks to the multiple Nebula Gas infusions he took. Maybe instead of a second Twin Breaker and the Dragon Sclashjelly, he gets a new weapon first, like maybe his own Beat Closer (which is one of my favorite Rider weapons that sadly doesn’t get used often). Hell, call it the “Beat Greaser” and give it new sounds and a paint job and make it a Web Exclusive toy. Bandai loves doing that. - Gentoku’s also fine. At first I felt like I’d have the most problems with him when he was revealed to have a redeeming arc, but after all was said and done, I think it worked for him. Like the nascita team didn’t immediately accept him joining them like I worried about (since he did kill Akaba and was in general partially responsible for the terrible things that happened to each of the characters), and he truly does earn his place with them instead of it being “Oh, I guess we all immediately forgive you for your transgressions.” - Blood Stalk/Evol as a villain is fantastic. He’s got charm, he’s got power, he’s got some of the coolest Kamen Rider designs I’ve ever seen. My biggest problem is his somewhat simple motivation of getting stronger because he’s supposed to be the “superior being”. Like I’m sure in “Be the One” they reveal more of his motivation and background since members of his race also make an appearance, but for now, I’m mainly just going off on the TV series since I have yet to watch the movie. Personally, I would give Evolt a bigger backstory. Like I would make it so that Evolt had been a high-ranking soldier of his race that was entrusted with the Evol-Driver (something that he named himself because he’s egotistical) and the Pandora Box in order to fight a war against another planet. But after that, he became enraptured with the powers that the technology gave him on top of his own that he ends up going off on his own to become stronger and stronger, as well as becoming smarter and smarter with how he handled things. This would eventually lead him to Mars, where he meets his match against Vernage. But as he is, he works as a fantastic villain. - Overall, I think I’d give the series more breathing space to allow it to expand and explore everything, And with that all said and done, I’ll talk about my thoughts on the final episodes.
Honestly, it’s how I expected it to go, and I’m pretty satisfied with it. I’ve seen some people express dissatisfaction with it, and it’s understandable. But with the fact that their plan involved combining two Earths to create one new Earth, it’s hard to not imagine it going that way. Like, if the Earth’s combined and everyone was alive and had their memories of the previous universe, then what was the point of the tension and drama? Likewise, if the Earth’s combined and everyone that died stay dead, then what was the point of combining them? Personally, the Earth’s combining and everyone’s alive but without the memories of the previous universe is the better outcome, because it shows us how the world is without Evolt and the Pandora Box, and makes us wonder where Sento and Ryuga will go on from there. Speaking of which, I have a couple ideas of how the nascita team will reunite and regain their previous memories. I’m willing to bet that in either Zi-O’s and Build’s crossover movie or Build NEW WORLD, that they’ll all coincidentally meet at the nascita cafe, where they start wondering if they all know each other since each of them feels like the other is familiar, before being pulled into the movie’s plot. Maybe it’ll happen, maybe it won’t, but I’m hoping it does.

and, together, we sat watching the rain
sawa/sento || 2586 words || sfw || introspection
The rain has a habit of dissolving the parts of yourself that you'd rather hide. Sawa and Sento figure this out first hand.
[ AO3 ]
Sento finds Sawa sitting underneath a tin bus-shelter, watching the rain fall gently from the sky like tears, and she doesn’t acknowledge him when he takes a place beside her and watches her. She just continues to stare up at the grey sky, her hands clasped together on her lap.
“What are you doing?” Sento asks her after a while, and, still, she does not turn. “Isn’t it cold?” He asks again, and this time she shrugs.
“I’m not.” She says. “You can go back to Nascita if you’re cold.”
Sento tries not to take her reply personally and settles more comfortably into the wooden bench, mimicking her clasped-hand pose as he stares up into the sky with her. He wonders what she sees in amongst the grey, stormy clouds and cool rain, and he wonders if it’s something that only has meaning to her, maybe he could see it too if he looked close enough. Yet, Sawa just seems to be scanning the sky, her eyes drifting across the expanse carefully, as if this is the last chance she’ll have to see the rain again.
She sighs gently, and crosses her ankles. “I love the rain.” She says and Sento looks to her. “It reminds me of poetry.”
“Poetry?” Sento asks, brow raised.
“Yes.” She says with a small nod. “One specific verse. And my own; I only used to write poetry about rain.”
Sento nods, not quite sure what to say, and Sawa turns back fully to the sky, her shoulders relaxing as she inhales and exhales the earthy air around them. It envelops everything in a rich scent that’s comforting to breath, it makes Sento feel warm and happy, and he thinks that maybe he could fall asleep right there—to the sound of the rain pattering gently on the tin roof like gravel on a window, and the smell of the earth covering him like a warm comfort blanket.
And he’s tired, he realizes. So, tired.
He’s tired of being Build, he’s tired of being cooped up inside his basement in Nascita working on things that aren’t really his, he’s tired of not knowing who he is, he’s tired of seeing Misora miserable about not being able to go outside (it feels him with a sense of guilt and melancholy that he can’t quite place), and he’s tired of not knowing who he can trust. He’s tired of being paranoid and afraid. He’s tired of being Kiryu Sento.
And it’s a miserable thing to be tired of being yourself.
So, instead, he turns to Sawa. “What was your poetry like?” He asks her and she pauses, lips parted in surprise for a moment before she begins to breathe again.
Sawa shrugs, smiles up at the sky. “It wasn’t very good, and it was nothing like the writers I was trying to mimic.” She says, waving a hand off-handedly. “It romanticized the rain, it was about new beginnings and how beautiful it made the world through jewel-like droplets and dusk-skies.” She continues softly, and Sento thinks her voice sounds like the rain, really. “It was never any good. So, I stuck to journalism. It’s what I’m best at.”
“I think your poetry sounds beautiful,” Sento says, and he shocks even himself when he allows the words to pass his lips, startling Sawa into turning to him with wide eyes. “I could never write poetry. I wouldn’t know where to start, or what to write about, or if my words would even want to heard in this world.” He adds, the words falling from his lips like an avalanche of snow, blanketing the distance between them. “Scientific paper make more sense. I know where to start. And I know my words need to heard because there’s an ‘Important’ stamped on the front of the envelope in block capitals and red ink.”
Sawa looks at him for a moment with an unreadable expression in her eyes. “The thing about poetry is that you don’t really care about whether your words want to be heard, you just say them anyway.” She says and then she turns back to the sky. “That’s the beauty of it.”
“I see.” Sento says, settling back into his bench. But he doesn’t. He pretends for Sawa, so it will seem like someone understands; because he knows how much it hurts to have someone not understand. And he tries again. “What verse does the rain remind you of?” He asks her.
Sawa doesn’t answer, but scans the sky as if searching for something, and, when the sky lights up with faint lightning and a clap of thunder, she smiles, wide and childlike and then she turns to Sento, staring at him so seriously he’s afraid for a moment, though he knows he shouldn’t be.
“A faint clap of thunder,” She says and Sento quickly realizes she’s reciting something, words he remembers, the poem coming back to him in a flurry of realization. “Clouded skies. Perhaps rain will come. If so, will you stay here with me?”
Sento nods. “I will.” He says and Sawa takes one look at his serious expression and laughs, loudly and bell-like. It sounds nice. Sento realizes he likes the sound of Sawa’s laugh.
“You’re not meant to answer,” she says, as if he doesn’t understand. “It’s a Tanka.” She explains.
He nods again. “I know.” He says and Sawa seems to stop in her path, her lips parting and her eyes widening in surprise. “But I will stay here with you, if you’d like that.” He finishes and she stares at him a moment longer.
“I… would like that.” She tells him softly, and Sento nods once more, his heart singing in his chest as Sawa shuffles a little bit closer to him before gazing back up into the sky.
His eyes trail over her carefully, looking out for any signs of distress or injury. He sees wavy chestnut hair, the deep, beautiful color of her eyes that look almost golden in the faint light, her pale blue sweater and skirt and knee high boots—and he notices that her shoulders as shaking, from what he doesn’t know, but he peels off his jacket and thrusts it in her direction. She leans back at the sudden movement and stares at it as he holds it out to her.
She blinks up at him. “Sento…?” She asks and Sento flushes, turns away as he places the jacket in her lap.
“You’ll get cold.” He says, suddenly finding the tress across from them extremely interesting. “Just wear it, I’ll be fine.”
Sawa doesn’t say anything and Sento doesn’t look back as he hears the fabric rustle, the sound of her sitting up so she can tuck the bottom of her jacket under her and sit down without it all bunching up behind her. Then, she tugs his sleeve, and, though he braces himself before he turns, nothing could prepare him for the sight of Sawa in his jacket.
She looks small in it, like it’s drowning her or she’s being swaddled in it like an infant, and Sento can’t ignore the way his heart leaps in his chest when she pushes the sleeve back to her wrist so she could tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear and the sleeve completely engulfs her hand again when she lowers it to her lap.
Sento realizes he must look floored because Sawa gives him an almost bashful smile.
“Thank you.” She tells him gently. “I was getting cold. I just didn’t want to say since you asked earlier.”
Taking the opportunity to divert his eyes away from how gorgeously adorable Sawa looks, he feigns irritation, turning from her with an exaggerated sigh. “You should’ve said,” he scolds halfheartedly. “Then I would’ve given you it sooner. Wouldn’t want you to catch a cold.”
He can almost feel Sawa’s sunny smile as he stares up at the sky. Then he hears a small inhale and Sawa’s quiet voice saying, “It smells nice.” And his heart practically stops.
“I-It shouldn’t.” He says, hoping and praying that she doesn’t notice his slight stutter (She does.) as he flounders to make it look like he wasn’t having a minor heart attack over Sawa in his jacket. “I wore that to the lab. It’s probably covered in dangerous chemicals and other nasty stuff.”
Sawa giggles into his sleeve. “Nothing bad has happened to me yet.” She says indignantly.
“It will!” He says, his voice raising an octave higher than he’d like as he turns to her with his arms outstretched. “In fact; give it back! Before you get bad chemical burns and your skin starts flaking off! Or you turn green or something!” He continues.
Sawa replies by pouting at him and burrowing herself further into the jacket, lifting one side so it covers the lower half of her face. “No!” She protests. “It’s warm. I don’t care if I turn green.”
He leans closer to her as he begins to tug at the right side of the jacket. “What about chemical burns?” He asks and Sawa sticks out her tongue childishly, so unlike her, her face almost touching his.
“Don’t care!” She replies, shuffling back against the wall of the bus shelter as Sento shuffles closer.
“You’re acting like a child.” Sento points out, frowning as he grips the jacket. “How very unprofessional.”
“You’re acting like a child too.” Sawa chirps back happily. “How very hypocritical!”
Sento sighs. “You’re improbable.” He says.
“Nothing is improbable.” Sawa says, and Sento is suddenly very aware of how her breath fans warmly on his cheek, and how he’s almost curled over her, his hand propped on the wall behind her, effectively pinning her into the tiny corner of the bus shelter—and he’s very aware that his eyes shouldn’t be darting down to Sawa’s lips.
He sucks in a shaky breath. “Really?” he asks and Sawa nods jerkily. “What is probable, then?” He asks.
Sawa takes a sharp in-take of earthy air. “A rainbow after the rain. Cicadas in summer. You and Banjou defeating Faust. Snow in winter.” She pauses for a moment, looks down at Sento’s lips as he draws just a little bit closer. “Sochi’s coffee forever tasting terrible. The sun breaking through the clouds. The… way…”
Her words trail off as Sento leans forward gently and presses his lips gently against hers.
All at once, the rain surges to a deafening volume, filling his ears and every part of his body as he breathes in Sawa and kisses her so gently, as if she could break beneath the cushion of his lips. Slowly, her hands move up over his arms and around his neck, her fingers tangling in his hair as she pulls herself closer to him, and gasps in a breath around his lips before pressing herself firmly against him.
Sento pulls back from the wall, his hands curling around Sawa’s waist instead of the cold metal of the bus shelter, as he takes her with him and allows his fingers to splay over her hips before one of his hands go up to cup her cheek, smooth her hair away from her face and hold her as if she was made of precious stones and glass.
Then, she pulls back and she stares at him, her eyes scanning his for any sign of regret or panic as she asks, carefully, “Sento?”, and it sounds like she’s afraid. And he is too.
But he’s so tired—too tired of being afraid. He doesn’t want to be afraid anymore.
So, he cups her face gently, takes in a deep breath of rain-filled air, and prepares himself for his next words. “A faint clap of thunder,” he begins and Sawa’s eyes widen as she stills completely underneath his fingers. “Even if rain comes not, I will stay here, together with you.”
She gasps gently, her hands finding his face in a flurry of careful touches. “I-I… thought that you didn’t know that Tanka!” She says in happy confusion. “How did you know it?”
Sento shrugs. “You reminded me.” He says simply and Sawa stares at him.
“How do you feel?” She asks and the last three words – ‘about the kiss’ – hangs wordlessly between them.
Sento presses his forehead gently against hers, pulls back to leave a small kiss there; barely a brush of his lips, and Sawa leans into his touch. “One of the best decisions I ever made.” He murmurs into her skin. “Up there with becoming Build.”
She gives him a happy, curious smile. “Really?” She asks.
“Really.” He affirms with a nod. “How do you feel?” he asks.
Sawa bites her lip, allows a sliver of fear allow to peek out from her eyes. “Afraid.” She replies softly, like rain and pulling back the covers on a freshly made bed; afraid to make a mess of everything. “Aren’t you?”
He strokes his thumb over her cheek. “I’m tired of being afraid.” He tells her. “This is the one thing I’m not afraid about. I won’t let myself become afraid by it. I like you, Sawa.” He says, the words coming from an unspoken recess of his mind, and it feels like a pressure being lifted from his chest and a plaster being ripped off at the same time, and it stings slightly as Sawa stares up at him with wide eyes.
He holds her as she looks down, squeezes her eyes shut and leans fully into him, his hand slipping from her face to wrap around her body and hold her close. She clutches at the front of his sweater desperately and he strokes her hair as she tries not to cry on him, as his heart sinks, his eyes squeezing shut as he realizes that this was all a big mistake. Maybe he read her wrong, maybe Sawa doesn’t like him like he likes her. Maybe this was all hopeless from the beginning.
And, then, finally; “I like you too, Sento.”
Sento lets out a sigh of relief and holds her close, pressing a kiss to the top of her head as he rocks her back and forth, listening to her breathe in sharply as if preparing herself to say something that pains her, and then she does. “I don’t want to be afraid.” Her voice comes, muffled by his sweater. “But I’m so afraid.”
He clutches her close and strokes her hair and rubs her back soothingly. “It’s okay.” He says. “You can be afraid. What are you afraid of?” He asks.
“What this means.” She says shakily. “And what this changes.”
“It doesn’t change anything if you don’t want it to.” Sento tells her truthfully and Sawa nods into his chest.
She clutches him tighter. “I need time.” She says. “For this.”
“As much as you need.” Sento assures her, and, consoled, Sawa buries herself into Sento’s sweater to calm herself down.
Sento holds her against his chest underneath a bus shelter in the falling rain, and he watches as the sun peaks through the clouds—a bright sliver of hope through the darkness of the clouds, and he promises her time. All the time in the world. As much as she wants to think and compute and become less afraid, because he loves her, and you’d give anything to the ones you loved, even if it killed you in the end.
He holds her and tries not to think about how he probably doesn’t have much time left.

A Slow Damage headcanon theory compilation by Ann
It’s late and I’m supposed to write short stories instead of a long rant about a game that’s not even out. But after watching the Slow Damage PV another hundred times and seeing that the N+C fandom is kinda dead. I decided to add my little, possibly going to remain unseen theories/headcanons/speculations/guesses etc. for the fans waiting for something new.
Note that nothing of what I’ve written is to be taken at face-value, it’s just my speculation and feel free to correct me on anything or share your theories with me. Anything to make this agonizing period of waiting a bit less agonizing!
First, these guesses wouldn’t be as strong without @shinocchidesu’s text decode on the PV and the inverted sketches @bara-mink (sorry, for some reason i couldn’t tag you :C) made to get a new perspective on the images, and they look clearer!. Kudos to them!
To start this trip, I may warn you this is gonna be long as heck. Be prepared.
We’ve got to start with the ambience. N+C has something like a track record regarding crapsack worlds, dramatical murder and maybe false alkanet being the exceptions (and even then, Dmmd was dark as fuck despite the cheery, colorful world it was in). Togainu no Chi was a post-war dystopia, Lamento was a story in a world that was slowly dying, and sweet pool’s world was fairly ordinary but the darkness on the plot was the product of the characters’ doing.
Slow damage seems to be the game where both the characters and the world around them are grimdark as hell.
Taking the PV at face value, the characters seemed suspicious, the music and effects were unsettling and the background left an impression (at least in me) that nothing was fine. Looked kind of like a decadent city, or a red-light district, just an urban zone full of crime. If I had to compare it to explain myself better, think of Dragon Palace in Omerta Chinmoku no Okite (another BL, mafia themed VN).
(what looks like an urban environment in the pv):
Tumblr media
(omerta’s dragon palace, for comparison):
Tumblr media
A crime-filled ambience is an ideal place for a dark plot with troubled characters.
Moving along with the characters, we see 4 of them (at least if there’s not a hidden twin, clone or doppelganger). None of them look 100% sane to me. The flashing visuals and slightly off-key music and sounds are likely to hint that at us, or maybe it’s the kanji, for the Japanese-speaking people? They’re either very involved with crime, or their hands aren’t clean enough to disprove any guilt. At least for me, since these are my deductions.
Moving on, I’m going to talk about the people we see in the PV. Starting with:
Tumblr media
My thoughts about him? When there’s crime, there should be cops. He looks like a detective or cop to me. He also seems to be middle aged, or older than the MC at the very least. Old enough to have been a father? Who knows. But he reminds me of Motomi (TnC) and Kiryuu (Omerta) for some reason. I’ll call him Kiryu for now.
The words deciphered by shinocchidesu in their post read:
Tumblr media
Sins, guilt, depression, self-loathing, to hide something, mask.
If I tie this to his assumed position in the law, Kiryu must have committed a crime himself and/or gotten someone killed. It was either an accident or intentional, whether in a moment of weakness or fully aware of what was going to unfold. In any case. It seems like Kiryu desperately wants to hide it, or forget it. Or the disgust he felt with himself after doing it.
Affection, mercy, silence, determination to be…
What if his route is like a healing process, maybe not just for Kiryu, but also for whatever the MC went through before? Maybe by taking his route, if he has one, we can make him move on or remind him that the past is in the past, and that he can still find worthy things in his life (Like the MC?). he’s going to feel more positive with the MC around him, he may quickly take a liking to him. Maybe because he reminds Kiryu of someone from his past? Is being romanced by the MC like a chance to symbolically or internally fix everything that went wrong?
Next is…
Tumblr media
My thoughts about him? Looks like the typical pretty boy every anime media must have. Longish hair? Check. More delicate face structure? Check. Mischievous smile? Check. He also seems to have piercings, or maybe it’s the rough lines of the sketches. I’m going to call him Shi for now, read the explanation ahead.
The deciphered words read:
Tumblr media
Unrestrained, unstoppable pleasure, blood, bone, flesh, violence.
This doesn’t spell good.
I’m going to stretch my deductions a lot and state that maybe Shi was (or is) a cannibal, or a serial killer. I see him as a hedonistic fuck who doesn’t care about other people’s wellbeing as long as he’s having a blast. Maybe he was under the influence of drugs. All of this spells that Shi was an outright criminal, the kind of pleasure-seeking person who will go to the extreme just to feel new sensations, even if they’re morally wrong. Shi wants to feel thrilled, he has no barriers or chains. He’s a free man and not even the police can keep him from having his way. He’s sassy, brash, carefree and confident. Has a joyful and fun façade to hide his bloodthirstiness and the misery it caused him.
Or we can take the other side and imply he was being forced to be like this. Maybe he was part of a cult or a very toxic group who indulged in killing and intoxication. He’s used to this, even if he doesn’t want to be. Maybe the MC can help him withdraw from his passions or push him deeper into it while joining him. I still don’t have this clear.
Self-denial, build and rebuild, hidden aesthetic.
Shi lives very frugally. Because of his criminal status he has to constantly relocate, but it’s not like he has important things to leave behind. Much like Nine told Aoba in dmmd re:connect, Shi can build and destroy his (outer) world whenever he wants or needs to and he doesn’t lose much by that. The build and rebuild part can also apply to his possible murderous intents, since he destroys lives in order to build up his pleasure. Possibly being with the MC may inspire a desire to settle down, despite the risk, and having legitimate reasons to do the opposite. A possible bad end might be joining in the bloody debauchery and being dominated by Shi?
Next one…
Tumblr media
My thoughts about him? A classic character; the kichiku megane. Other than Ugajin (also from Omerta) and the yaoi manga with that name, I cannot make any comparisons due the fact I haven’t seen many examples of this archetype. Unless he turns out to be a caring, if amoral sweetheart, I’m betting my cat’s life that he’s going to follow the trope to a T. Stoic, sadistic, cruel and uncaring, but smart, sophisticated, desirable and maybe hiding a very tiny good heart. He looks like a high-ranking criminal, or yakuza or mafia or I dunno, he looks not like a lowlife thug, but more like an evil hidden-in-plain-sight kind of criminal. He can afford to look elegantly amoral. It took me a while to give him a decent placeholder name, so I’m just calling him Kenji for now.
Let’s analyze his phrases.
Tumblr media
To put on, not being himself, inerasable past, acted out truth, hatred towards their own.
This one’s a little more complicated to me even if it seems to be explicitly spelled out. Kenji’s self-hatred must stem from a typical traumatic experience. Maybe his family/race/clan/group did something awful and he was one of the few who regretted letting it happen? And that’s why he’s involved with crime? Because he sees himself as nothing but another apple that rot far away from the tree and he can’t do better than commit more crimes?. A little part of himself knows that while he’s scum, or at least related with the real scum, he didn’t commit atrocities like his kind so he can afford to be a little bit better. He desperately tries to distance himself from his clan, erasing his past and not wanting the horrible truth to be discovered. He doesn’t need to have a higher moral ground, he’s content with not doing horrible things directly. And he clings to that.
Cruel, thorough confrontation, continuous obsession.
Rule of three dictated these might refer to Kenji’s relationship with the MC. While MC doesn’t look like a career criminal, he’s still at the very bottom of the barrel, living in the crime-ridden urban settlement on a filthy studio (assuming he’s an artist). While Kenji can flaunt of being sophisticated and respected. If the kichiku megane aspect is played straight, Kenji won’t limit his cruelty with the MC, maybe seeing him as just another ruffian undeserving of even mere eye contact, much like he sees the people working for him. MC will keep clashing with Kenji, causing the yakuza to become enticed and attracted to the young (?) smoker. As if he’s “deserving” of him. I don’t have much else, sorry.
And finally…
Tumblr media
Now let’s go with the hooded person, who I’m assuming it’s the MC, and if he isn’t and turned out to be the main antagonist or some shit like that, welp, then screech in my ear and call me Rachel.
I’m basing my guesses from the teaser images rather than the kanji.
Tumblr media
The first one is simplistic. We see a person in a hoodie sporting a macabre smile, standing in the middle of a street with distorted figures which must be buildings. The colors are limited, classical red, black and white, aiding the macabre aesthetic of the picture. The black figures seem to sink onto the ground and lose consistency. As seen on the N+C website, the title of the game is written twice; once in white and then in black, right over the white katakana in an irregular way that may be meant to add to the “instability” of the image.
I don’t see much symbolism other that this being N+C’s way of saying “yo, we gon fuck your mind up but you gotta wait for it ;) also if you don’t speak Japanese then you’re doubly screwed fam”
Tumblr media
The second one is more complex and gives us a very good look at the aspects and symbolism. We see the hooded person in much clearer detail. Looks definitely masculine (it’s a yaoi game, duh). He’s sitting on a stool, in a crooked posture, looking depressed and defeated, smoking while avoiding eye contact with the camera. Smoking was believed to reduce stress, but that was debunked a while ago, so he has pent up a ton of anxiety added to the usual problems with his already underprivileged lifestyle. Behind him there are numerous canvases (assuming he’s an artist, or at least a hobbyist) with a huge black one right behind his back, they show no images other than empty whiteness and some shadows, their meanings being that either he gave up, those easels are representing emptiness and gloom, he became disillusioned and he’s reflecting on stuff, or that there are multiple problems in his life that are unimportant or self-inflicted and thus cause him small amounts of misery but not to an extreme extent, and this one big black canvas right behind his back represents factor that started, prolonged or keeps fueling his bitterness and internal struggle.
Tumblr media
I want you to save me./Do you want to be saved?
In a world of crime, a young man has the chance to make things right. Anything he could do may make things better or worse. Is he talking to himself? Is someone else asking him that? All the above?
By who? By me?
He’s doubtful and depressed. He started at the bottom and he’s still in the bottom (that was unintentional). But can he push his frustrations aside and face the music?
That concludes my analysis and helped quench my impatience a little bit. I should repeat that this is not to be taken at face value nor I’m saying this is 100% canon official information. It’s just another guessing game to see if I can give you an idea of what to expect. I dunno, I just wrote this for fun C: thanks for reading!

Human AU- Enchanted in the Moonlight (College Version)
So I’ve been asked to do this, it was really hard to decide on the guy’s degree, especially since in my country things are a bit different so I had to investigate a little, anyway, I hope you like and if you disagree with my choices, message me or send me ask telling me what should be better, It´ll be interesting to read your opinions Remember that I haven’t played Shinra, Samon or Kiryu’s routes, so I apologize if there’s any mistake in their personalities. (Also very sorry for grammar and spelling mistakes) Part of the high school Au and Valentine HS Tagging @tsuna11644 cause they (she?) request it
MC >Is a few years younger than the guys so is in her last year of high school (also is up to your choice what does she study) > She lives in a shrine really near downtown (the same shrine where Simon works part time) is a strategic place to live since it’s close to pretty much everywhere >Which is why the other guys (except Kiryu) hijack her house and start living there >She totally opposes but can’t do anything since her parents are outside town, and some of those guys (Miyabi) are from wealthy families so...  >”grr fine, but you have to pay rent and help with the chores” help, yeah right >A month passes by= Mc regrets her life choices
Miyabi >Chemistry Degree in University of Tokyo (UTokyo) >Tries to spy on mc when she is the bathroom or changing at least a dozen of times, is scolded by Simon everytime >if he had a coin for all the girls that are fawning over him... (he could actually buy his family’s manor) >Did I mention he is a genius? he has the best notes in the whole faculty... until a new student arrives that is >Starts to lose confidence and to act more douchy, until mc has enough and argue with him, making him realize how awesome he is >Just a crush? no fellas, he just fell in love with this woman, so strong, beautiful and ... shut up Miyabi we are trying to study here!!
Chikage >Linguistics Degree in UTokyo >This guy just wanted a degree where he could keep reading (he literally turns his bedroom into a little library) >Is constantly asking by the other guys to help them in their research, which bothers him to the point to get out of the house when is deadline’s time of the year, if mc ask him though, he’ll do it gladly (Cue to the guys' death staring at him) >  Has a class with demon Kiryu and he is the only one that passes (his classmates look at him like some sort of a god for being able to get an excellent in that class) > Allows Koten to came over to Mc’s house, and she is fine with it because she adores that kid  >Little baby crow ask them when they were going to marry, both of them blushes... the other guys preparing their knives in the distance
Yukinojo >Arts Degree in UTokyo >He might or not use mc as a model in his paintings and photographs  >Has a really large fan club in his faculty  >customer #1 in the dessert stall in the cafeteria  >Somehow manage to convince mc to be a life model, fully cloth tho, (low key disappointed) >he regretted it almost immediately cause his male classmates started gushing about how cute she was
Kyoga >A degree in Film and New Media at the Tokyo University of Arts >Keep studying and working at the local cinema to pay both his rent and send money to his family >Once he made a comedy project based on the everyday dinner in mc’s house with all the guys >Reluctant to present his younger brother Aoi to mc “back off kiddo, I have enough rivals in that house already” >Falls for mc when he sees how much she cares for everyone... and when she prepares them a really good steak  >The kind of person who stays up in the school library until 3 a.m studying (on one occasion he thought seeing a ghost and use it as an inspiration for a horror project)
Shinra >Actually an Olimpic athlete (practice TaeKwonDo) so he thinks he doesn’t need to study (His family force him to study economics in UT though) >He gave everyone tickets to see him in the Olympics (airplane ticket, hotel, and everything) except for Miyabi (who got payback by hijacking his bedroom and making him sleep in the living room) >Is the campus celebrity because he won silver (his notes aren’t that good though) >Ask for Simon’s help sometimes  >Actually giving self-defense classes to mc to protect herself from creeps (and the other guys) >Low key wants to be cool in front of mc so he brags about being in college, shut up you too Shinra we want to study here!
Simon >He majored in education and psychology >He wanted to be a full-time psychologist, but he felt more comfortable working on a school so he chose that option  >His parents are acquaintance of mc parents, that’s why he decides to work part-time in their shrine, to help them; he also helped mc to feel better when her parents started to work abroad >Feels a bit guilty since the guys started to stay at mc’s just because he lives there >Tries to make the guy’s favorites for dinner with mc’s help >Stills tries to help everyone when is finals and deadlines time of the year
Kiryu >Posses a degree in both Japanese and English Literature  >He currently is a teacher in UTokyo, a librarian in a high school and well-known author in his spare time (just because he can)   >Even when he got a flat of his liking he keeps seeing the other guys around the campus (to his annoyance)  >The literature professor in Chikage’s class, everyone (except Chikage himself) is terrified of him  >Has to admit that chikage is a good student (”but don’t get cocky just because you had a perfect score!”) the other students started to pray to him as if he was God >100% done with all his students’ idiocy
This was hard ^^u so any feedback is deeply appreciated

The long awaited Yakuza 0 review
To make things clear, this is my first Yakuza game. I haven’t played any other ones and i’ll most likely compare the game to Far Cry 3 or Nier: Automata since i’ve played those games recently and are fresh on my mind. There’ll be slight spoilers for the first 3 chapters. You can skip this part if u don’t wanna hear about the pacing problem. I’ll put the different parts into segments like i did the first time. Starting with the story, the biggest problem that the game has is it’s pacing. I guess it’s kinda unavoidable to not have pacing issues since you play as 2 different characters and their events unfold in different speeds, but the start is a real mood killer. The game opens up with you playing Kiryu in a high tension cinematic, then just makes you walk around with your best friend for like good 5-10 mins. After some bullshit, the game ramps up and gives you, probably, the best fighting gauntlet in the game, and a fantastic boss fight at the end. Next chapter, running around and doing fetch quests for buncha homeless people, the “fighting gauntlet” in this chapter is non existent, and the boss fight is less than stelar.  The first boss fight has stakes, Kiryu knows the character for a while, and we’ve had enough time to get to hate him. The second one, the stakes are considerably lower and we get like 2 scenes with the character, which is obviously not enough time to flesh out the character, and the reason for fighting him is kinda dumb. We beat the boss, have a talk and the chapter ends. Next chapter begins with quite a long cutscene, following bunch of unrelated characters, this is obviously made this way to make Majima’s(second MC), reveal as big as it is, considering the following games, but i haven’t played any of them so the bait didn’t work. The game doesn’t shy away from re-using bosses multiple times, but the reusal doesn’t bother since most of the have a huge role in those current events and the title card before each bossfight makes it very much worth it. Otherwise, the game has a great story, the characters are well thought out, kinda 1 dimentional but they do their job GREAT. The twists are good, and the ending might be a bit bitter-sweet, it still is a good wrap-up to everything. The game has horrible pacing issues in the first few chapters, the middle’s pretty decent, and gets kinda bad towards the end but not as bad as the first part. That’s the story-based pacing issues. The gameplay part doesn’t get any better during the main quests all you do is: 1.watch cutscenes 2. fight. That’s all there’s to it, no different minigames, considering there’s shit ton of it in the game. Well except 3 parts of the game where u play Karaoke twice and a toy grabbing machine once and well, 2 “stealth” sections”.  And the last problem that the story holds is the presentation, there are 4 different ways the game presents it’s story: 1. Fully animated cutscenes with voice acting, 2. In-game-engige with voice acting, 3.In-game-engige with no voice acting, 4.weird visual novel style. My problem with this begins with the fact that the fully animated cutscenes are not that long, also there are multiple time where the game switches from animated to engine to animated again. I know the game is made with a low-budget but these are still problem. Second problem being the in-engige cutscenes, the amount of animations the in-engige cutscenes have is pretty low, and it gets obvious pretty fast, the characters start doing the same movements and this might be a problem of mine but some of those animations really annoyed me. I don’t have any problems with the visual novel style, except that it’s not used a lot during the game, maybe about 5 times in the whole game. To leave the story part in a high note, the voice acting is amazing, you can feel every bit of emotions whenever characters talk and it enhances the story by a thousand easily. Huge amount of work is put into the side content into the game, considering Kamurocho and Sotenbori are basically few streets big, it’s filled with stuff to do to the brim. Starting from Karaoke to bowling, from western gambling to japanese gambling and 100 different substories, which are well-written. It has it’s cheesy moments but the writers knew about that fact and double downed on it which just makes it much better. The amount of care that’s put into the mini-stories is amazing, you do different things almost every time, it doesn’t have the same problem as the main story. Comparing this to smth like Far Cry 3, Yakuza 0 beats the game with ease. FC3′s side quests boils down to, go shoot ppl and fetch smth, i’d give’em a pass if they were well written but the story in the side quests is dogshit. Here’s an example: A lady asks you to check a plane wreckage, you go inspect the place, a man asks you what you are doing, you tell’im about the lady and he goes “There’s no lady in this village”, quests ends. Like what the fuck is that supposed to be, that’s it, no conclusion, Jason doesn’t question it, nor does he react. Meanwhile in Yakuza 0, you teach a Dominatrix how to act dominant, kids see you doing it and the game turns that awkward situation into a lesson for the dominatrix. The problem lies in the fact that non of the side quests have voice acting and they use the in-engine cutscenes. But i can forgive that for being amazingly entertaining. And the reward you get from the side quests are worthwile, almost everything in the game connects to something else. The biggest side-quests in the game are Kiryu’s Real Estate plotline, and Majima’s Cabaret Club plotline, which is the main way of making money. Both have similar story beats, both has to fight against the best 5 respective businessmen.  Kiryu’s job is to go around buying real estate and turning it into profit. This takes a long time and you aren’t doing anything to make the money, you buy the land and wait until the money flows in. Meanwhile Majima has a minigame where you have to keep the customers and your hostesses happy. The way you acquire managers and security for kiryu, and hostesses for Majima is through substories, which also tie into a lot of the minigames in the game, like dancing, fishing and such. What people complain about is the fact that you make the most money from Kiryu’s story while doing nothing, meanwhile you make 1/10th of the money with Majima since you actually have to pay attention for that. But i think the fact that those 2 thing contradicting each other works for it’s favor, you can swap characters after the game’s main story ends, you can send your advisors to collect the money and swap to Majima to do his part of the story. And to kinda offset the money problem early game, Majima’s upgrades cost considerably less than Kiryu’s. The upgrade system, i think it’s pretty bad. Most of the upgrades feel insignificant, for someone who’s new to the game i don’t think they’ll remember most of the combos that you unlock and the ones they’ll upgrade doesn’t change much aside from “deal more dmg”, “get more heat”. And the weird upgrade grid that the game has just adds unneccesary confusion. The fighting on the other hand. The fighting is great, the hits have weight to them. Every hit gives off a great visual and audio feel. The heat actions are over the top and gruesome. The game has 3 different styles for each character: Balances, fast and weak, strong and slow. Kiryu’s styles are more “practical” meanwhile Majima has the more “fun” styles. But both have broken styles which just makes the other styles obsolete. You can unlock a 4th style for each character if you complete the business subplots. One big problem with the balance of the game comes from the healing system. You can hold 20 healing items which heal the character for 75%. You can get these the moment you are allowed to roam the world, there’s no lock behind these and make the game a cakewalk even on the highest difficulty and ruin the mood of the game quite a bit, especially on bossfights. Imagine having 20 health bars, meanwhile the bosses have 2 to 6 maximum. Hence why i decided to handicap myself and only you maximum of 2 healing items per fight, after that each fight felt like a challenge and the victories felt a lot more impactful. But i shouldn’t be handicapping myself to make the story games feel more impactful, the game fails at that pretty badly. But if the game has a great soundtrack, even the most unbalanced fights can feel epic. And needless to say, Yakuza 0 has a phenomenal soundtrack, each fighting style has a different music tied to it, almost all of the bosses have music attached to them and the way they are integrated into the fight is fucking amazing. Especially towards the end, the music reaches amazing heights. Doesn’t matter how dull the fighting gets, the music will keep you pumped up until the last second you play. And you will get bored of the fighting, if you want to 100% the game. This game has one of the worst 100% metrics. The game makes you do EVERYTHING and sometimes do stuff multiple times. It took me 186 hours to 100% the game. Did i get frustrated of how bullshit the gambling is ? Yes, absolutely. The way the game adds up your score is when you stop playing certain minigame. This automatically sets your brain to quit the moment you go below the number you started with, so u quit after winning a round or losing a round and it becomes quite frustrating after some time. Catching every fish, playing every song in disco, beating up 200 enemies which each style, which one of them is unlocked really late into the game, you’ll get sick of it. And like i said before, there are japanese gambling minigames, like koi-koi and mahjong. I love Mahjong, it’s fucking fantastic but Sega could’ve done a better job if they wanted to include a japanese minigame with japanese symbols in the game. Thankfully this is fixed in Yakuza 6 and i’m glad. There are a lot of flaws with the game, but i love it without any doubt. The way the game captures the Japanese environment and culture, the amount of stuff you have in the game, the out of this world soundtrack, the high points of the story, the way the different side contents bleed into each other without any problems, and i’d recommend this game to everyone. 9/10
