I like to draw! silly drawings, occasionally simple animations too! Mostly fallout drawings at the moment (ha) as I’ve contracted the obsession from fallout 4 lol. I like all of the Fallout games including 1, though 4 is my favorite! I also like to crochet and am currently working on a customizable person pattern so I have a solid base to make character patterns from! (danse)

Hey, I'm putting this in some Quackity tags, specifically for some answers and spread awareness on it, so if you see this, yes it's related to Q, but more specific the QuackGiveaways account on twt

(it's a long one, so if you don't wanna read through, I'm cutting the more section here haha)

I know this is usually against tumblr tag etiquette, I'm sorry for that.

From the replies still there it seems like some random person's account, replying to things during 2022 but I thought I saw it get swapped over during the 12th (August 12th 2023) at around 7 PM EST, so just a few days ago, and so the replies don't add up. I haven't seen anyone talk about it and it's strange. Did Blays own the account name and handed it over during the giveaway time and then deleted every trace of the account being in Q's hands in the past few days?

Anyways, does anyone know who "Blays" is besides their main account and why they (now?) have the QuackGiveaways account on twt (the merch giveaway account that was active during the Las Nevadas merch drop, "made" to prevent main account spam [made in quotations because it says the account was made in 2019?])?

It's still linked in the QuackityMerchh (has 2 hh's but it's got the official yellow "organization" checkmark and affiliates with all Q's accounts) account bio and it's all confusing.

On Blays's main account (blaystweets) it has a checkmark, but that could be a blue sub, they run an Origins SMP (and have a "verified" account for it under OriginsSMP_ which is also highly possibly a blue sub) and they posted on the Origins "verified" account showing a screen recording of them switching accounts [EDIT: i kept this post as a draft all day as I'm slowly working on it, it looks like they deleted this and any of their other posts that outright said they hacked into it, but put up a screen recording of just them clicking the QuackGiveaways @ in the Merch account bio and showing the profile I screenshotted and have above.]

They also posted about "hacking" into other accounts, except those accounts seem to be their friends unlike the QuackGiveaways account.

There's also a QSMPGiveaways_ account which looks to be part of the same group of people Blays associates with and the name was changed recently but shows absolutely zero signs of being official, especially since it's not tagged in any of the official QSMP account directories and there's nothing the QSMP has to "giveaway" in the first place. That account has been used to fool fans into thinking they won free Quackity while Blays laughs at said fans.

[edit: it seems like the Origins account is also partially run by "Ark" @ _Ark58, who seems to have small bursts of activity on their personal account]

I tried to message the QuackityMerchh account because it was the only official account that has dms open, but I haven't heard back and it doesn't say that it was seen. Which, makes sense considering if the dms are open, they probably get flooded every single day with nonsense. I'm debating whether or not I should send an email, but right now I just want people to be aware about it.

That's all I know so far about this, unfortunately. I've been too busy the past few days to look into it again. It's just the dates of the account being created and some of these replies that's throwing me off.

I also think a lot of the tweets I saw and spoke about got purged yesterday (started forming this post last night on august 14th) which is why I couldn't gather any screenshots of the tweets themselves :/

Words of Encouragement

As the interaction discussion I monitored this weekend comes to a close, I have been struggling to think of what I can say to help everyone. I pride myself on being good with words when it comes to stories, but I am just absolutely horrible when it comes to advice-giving. I'm still going to try though because I am concerned after what I've seen.

One of my favorite shows is an NBC show called 30 Rock. It's about the head writer for a popular late night variety show and the hijinks that ensue.

There is an episode where the main character Liz Lemon is getting so stressed that she needs therapy. She enlists the help of simple yet sweet page Kenneth to be her therapist, but he cannot handle the pressure of it, so it backfires on her. Liz's no nonsense boss Jack steps in to help Kenneth and says, "Put your mental burden in my mind vice, and I will crush it."

Going into this discussion, I wanted to carry the attitude of Jack's "mind vice", but I will be incredibly honest with you all. The further it went, I became as stressed as Kenneth due to my empathetic nature.

It truly concerns me to see a lot of people being so stressed over something that shouldn't be stressful at all. I have been writing fanfic since most of you were five years old, so this isn't my first time dealing with these stressors. It's just a different website.

Some common themes I noticed in the messages were as follows:

Feeling like a third wheel when it comes to mutuals

Feeling like your writing is not good enough because it is not getting reblogged

Feeling unmotivated because you don't receive a large amount of feedback

Feeling used because of spam likers

First of all, I'm so sorry to hear that there are people who have felt one of these, two of these, or even all four at once. You all shouldn't ever, ever feel this way. You deserve so much more than what is happening.

Second of all, I would encourage those that are writers to go back in the tag and find the handful of reader POVs that were sent in after the event is over later today. All of them made very valid points, and I think they are things that we regularly forget as writers. While, yes, there are always going to be spam likers and ungrateful readers, I believe in the bottom of my heart that probably more than half of them are not that way at all, and I think it's very easy for us to just think they're all the same when we only receive a like.

Thirdly, if I could take ratios away for all of you, I would. But I cannot. I can only give you some words of encouragement of what I've learned in my 18 years of writing fan fiction, so I hope that they help someone.

Notes Do Not Matter

At the End of the Day, You Should Be Writing For Yourself

I know, I know. I know, I know, I know. You're like, "What the fuck, Rae, yes they do."

But I feel like there is an alarming amount of people that are equating their worth as a writer (and person) to how well a fic does. We see how well another's fic does and if it doesn't reach that amount of notes, it's seen in our eyes as failure. Or if it doesn't reach x amount of interactions in x timeframe, we also see that as failure.

You cannot do this to yourself. It will drive you absolutely batshit insane.

And honestly? I completely understand wanting to be recognized for your writing, but you really have to think about it. Do you want 12k notes on every fic you put out? The people I knew that had massive amounts of notes the last time I was writing fanfic-- They were MASSIVELY unhappy. When they did get the interaction they craved, it turned out it wasn't what they wanted at all.

I'm not saying that this will be the same outcome for you, but I implore you to sit down and really think if wanting a large amount of notes comes from a deeper issue, like theirs did.

I don't think I'll host another one of these any time soon because it did take a lot out of me, but I do encourage both parties to step into the other's shoes.

You've done it! You've finished a fic!

Were you happy while you wrote it? Did some time pass and you went "Ohmygod, how long have I been sitting here?"? Did you have a fun time while you did it?

Guess what? You did it.

And by you did it, I mean you've already succeeded.

You made yourself happy writing about your favorite little blorbo (Or, if you're like me, writing about someone else's favorite blorbo so you get a DM going 'GODDAMNIT RAE' two seconds later lmaooo)

You cannot be waiting on interactions and note amounts to make yourself happy. It will not come, I promise you.

You cannot worry about what user 472347294 thinks about your fic and if it's good enough to be reblogged or not.

That kind of thinking will absolutely decimate you.

Your bar should be this now.

"Did I have a lot of fun writing it?"

Then you've done it. You succeeded. That's all that matters in the end is if YOU were happy while you wrote it. If YOU had fun while you wrote it.

Writers-- I get it. It fucking SUCKS to sink hours and hours and hours and hours into something and get literally nothing in return (I am TERRIFIED to post a Sukuna fic because of this). But I'm about to tell you some really hard pills to swallow, and some of you might disagree with me, and that's fine. But I feel like it needs to be said.

Just like we don't owe anything to readers (chapter updates, part twos, etc.), they don't owe us anything. I think it's very easy for us to get into the mindset of "I worked on this for x amount of hours, so you HAVE to give me feedback".

No. They don't. They don't owe us anything, just like we don't owe them anything. I can't find a gentler way to say it, but it's something I've thought of for awhile now.

Instead, what I encourage you to do is pay attention to those that DO leave feedback. Reach out to them when they do, and sort of a, "Hey, thank you so much for reading my fic, I really appreciate it!" Or something along those lines. I was doing that but I have been slacking on it for the last couple months, so maybe it's something we can all start to do together.

Readers-- I hadn't thought about it before about how you feel like your follower count is too insignificant for a reblog to do any good, or how the times that you have left feedback, you felt like you were pushed to the side. And for that, I am sorry.

I know we are always ranting about reblogs and how important they are, but I apologize to those who are trying. To those that do take the time out to leave feedback, you are appreciated more than you know. You are the reason we continue to make content, whether we reach out to you or not.

I also do think it's very easy for us writers to forget that there is an incredibly large amount of content out there to consume, and we are basically making it impossible to keep up with. Tumblr's bookmarking system is just fucking awful (if you can even call it that) so I completely understand where you're coming from.

My advice to you is to keep trying to leave feedback, no matter how small. Hopefully there will be some writers who will reach back out to you and tell you thanks.

To those that are too shy to leave feedback, I would encourage you to leave feedback on your favorite writers fics (Please, for the love of god, stay away from the writers who think that they're better than you because their follower count got to their head. You'll know them when you see them.).

And if you are unsure of what to even say, please drop by (I have anonymous on always!) and I would be more than happy to help you!

There are a few more messages queued for today, but I will probably end the discussion at 3pm EST since I have to work tonight.

Thank you again to those that sent things in. I'm happy that we were able to be respectful to one another and I hope that maybe we were able to step into the other party's shoes and can be more kind to each other going forward.

Getting Around Here...

All right, we’ve reached the point where I’ve been told I have 1000 posts on here, so I’m gonna make a navigation/what’s this blog about post so I don’t go insane...

What’s This Blog About?

Basically this started as a realization that I was saving way too many BSD-related links on the app I use to keep track of all my obsessions, reactions to things, etc. So I figured a Tumblr blog would be the solution, and now this is my archive of things I would usually just save as a link elsewhere (plus some thoughts of my own to spice it up a bit.)

Navigation Stuff

Now how do I tag things for future explorations?

Fandom Tags: #bsd, #bungo stray dogs, #bungou stray dogs (will be updated if I switch/tack on other fandoms)

Character Tags: In general, I just use [acronym] [character’s most used name]. Like #bsd atsushi. Sometimes, I use two like #bsd edgar allan poe/#bsd poe or #bsd gogol/#bsd nikolai gogol but only when I’m not sure what their most used name is. There’s also #bsd characters (for unnamed characters or just incorrect quotes) this one (when there are too many characters to tag) and group specific tags (armed detective agency, port mafia, bsd guild, soukoku, shin soukoku, there’s no naming consistency)

Meta Tags: #bsd musings (for literally anything that contemplates bsd) #bsd theories (for theories, specifically) #character analysis (metas about characters)

Specific Media Tags: #bsd official art, #manga things (anything that features the manga panels) #anime things (anything that features anime screenshots and the like) #light novel things (anything referring to the light novels) #stage play things (anything featuring stuff about the stage play) #bsd fanart, #bsd edits, #bsd gifset, #bsd fanfic. Of course, there will also be tags for the light novels specifically, which is usually just bsd [light novel name], and wan.

Additional Tags: #humor, #alternate universe, #crossover, #random fandom spamdom (generally fandom related either because of my tags or the post’s contents itself) #bsd fandom slander (mostly a subset of humor that lovingly slanders the characters) #not fandom spam (has nothing to do with the fandom specifically) #spitting nonsense (my posts) #rambling in the tags sorry (when I get a bit TOO carried away) #note re-reblogs (currently nonexistent but the time will come...i advise blocking this tag lest you wake up to find 50 posts rereblogged because I didn't want to queue them...)

Spoilers tags will be tagged bsd spoilers (for all of them), manga spoilers/bsd manga spoilers, and anime spoilers/bsd anime spoilers.

In (Rambly) Conclusion

Why am I writing this like a three-point thesis...ah never mind.

And that’s how I sort out my obsession with this stupid show. If any other piece of media seizes me by the throat like BSD has, then I’ll probably start posting about it here (but my fixations are usually short lived and thus onto main sideblog they go).

I tend to...ramble in the tags a lot, which I mildly feel bad for (there’s a reason why I generally just privately save things). So if you’re seeing this because I spam reblogged you and you wondered who in the world was crowding your notifs with tags, I’m sorry. I also try not to crawl out of the tags too much, though, just do so if they don’t fit my rambles (oops....)

I try and lessen the blow by slapping most everything on the queue (but I don’t tag what I queue, let there be CHAOS), so maybe that helps a bit?

That said, I DO love tags, so feel free to spam reblog whatever you want from here and comment-tag as much as you want...I LOVE seeing people say stuff (whether I agree or not, this IS just for fun). I don’t usually use the comment/reply section or the like button because I don’t actually do anything in my main blog (I just work off sideblogs, heh), so I’ll likely abuse the reblog button a lot or just hope my vibes of appreciation are psychically felt.

OH RIGHT!! Asks are always open. Feel free to scream at me about literally anything, ask anything, or share cool links and shiny stuff I can reblog/save (the last one especially because I am a magpie of fandom things). I generally have to be asked things to talk about them, so I do warn you that the right ask can really get me going.

Gacha Club Character GiveAway

Really sorry if this is the third time you've seen this GiveAway post spam. I was having much confusion about why the posts didn't appear in the tags, plus blog settings and blah blah blah.

Anyway I got it fixed so I'm gonna spam. Actually if you see this post in particular I already have spammed, since tumblr shows latest posts in the tags reverse-chronologically.

Someone please interact with one or more of these posts just so I don't feel like I'm shouting into the uncaring void.

To the Point:

I don't have the brain power/time/patience to use these guys in stories, so I'm sharing them for others to use.

Do anything you want with them. Anything at all. Honest. Recolors redesigns background chars side chars main chars anything. They don't even have real names.

Anyone can use them, I dunno how to transfer ownership to just one person.

You don't need to credit me at all. I have my "brand" in their profiles but you can replace that with your name even. I just want them to be used since I think some of them are pretty neat.

There may be pictures of different versions, but the code will be posted for the one framed in yellow. The codes will only appear if you click or tap "keep reading" on the post. This is so screen readers don't have to say garbled nonsense for several minutes, if I understand right.

Feel free to send an ask or reblog for the other versions if they strike your fancy.

Some will be in grayscale. I like to make characters in shades of gray to establish values before coloring them, but the latter step may have not been done or was lost. So the gray ones are unfinished and you can do whatever with them.

I think that's it. Idk how to reiterate all these on each character post.

Rally’s Scribbles in the Work

So after that lovely anon blew my mind away with their kind words and wonderful support, and because I keep telling you guys about my writing plans without actually giving you even a teensy little detail, I have decided to stop being coy and actually likely get your hopes up a bit by dilvulging small details and bits of plots of what is currently going on in my G-Drive.

This will be a brief recount of what I have currently baking in the AoMomo oven, so let’s dive right into it! Please note that the numbers are in no particular order - I just keep revisiting each of these stories and writing a bit more to them whenever I feel like it. So there’s no ranking and no importance, just a number to keep proper count.

1. “Knight of Renown” Dragons and Knighthood AU, based on that one AoMomo pic with Momo ithe Knight and Dragon Aomine that I reblogged a while back and I actually let me imagination go a bit too much in the tags. I ended up actually rather enjoying the premise I set up in the tags so I actually started writing that one out! Completion rate at about: 5%? I’d say? Less? :D

2. AoMomo Music AU - a dearly beloved project that I am pouring a lot of love and attentioin to. That’s why it’s coming along super slow. It’s been in the making since November and I chewed it and mulled through it so thoroughly that I’ve grinded to a halt with it. Intending for there to be 2 chapters, and I am at about 25-30% of chapter 1 currently ready currently. At the pace I’m going, it might be another full year before you actually get to see this bad boy up, but when you do, I’m sure you’ll see all the care and effort that went into making it perfect. Honestly, no joke here, I am intending for this to be one of my rare masterpieces in this tag. So I’m not gonna rush it!

3. AoMomo Car Accident AU where Daiki barely manages to save Satsuki from being run over by a hit-and-run and ends up being the one run over instead. This was my first piece of writing after coming back to AoMomo last summer and yet completion rate is a sad thing. I want it to be flawless, a perfectly agonizing, thrilling type of torturous read that gives you a great sense of relief by the end of it. Needless to say, the clusterfuck of negative feelings is a bit difficult to hold onto for a prolonged period of time and the work is coming along slowly. Planned at about 5 chapters, I have 2 complete ones and the 3rd one is at about ... 30%? Hopefully before this year’s whumptober, we’ll have a finished piece!

4. AoMomo bond character study, which went in a direction I did NOT expect nor intend. It was suppsoed to be an idea that you will see also listed below. But I started this one from their early childhood and somehow, instead of focusing on the kids and their bond and their weird interactions with each other and their first moments of realizing they are of opposite genders, it turned into something much too fun to let go of and the ideas for scenes just kept piling. It’s going to be a long one, very explorative and very in-depth character study on the bond between these two and how it changed over the years, and their first encounters with their sexuality inbetween (because that was really the main idea that I started with... xDDD;;;) Currently at 1 chapter complete, chapter 2 somewhere around 50-60% completion, and at least 6-7 chapters to come after that, soooo.... :’DDDD YEAH. THIS ONE AIN’T SEEING THE LIGHT OF DAY ANYTIME SOON.

5. AoMomo deciding to practice stuff on each other, because I am a sucker for this trope.THIS will be what the idea under previous number 4 was SUPPOSED to be like, but it instead spun out of control. So this one, under number 5, is going to be the smutty, idiots bumbling through physicality to discover that they actually have serious feelings for each other kind of piece. Chapters are planned at about at least 6-7 or so, but not my usual monstrocities! :D First we start with practice kissing, and we move our way up from there!

6. “The Evil of Humanity” AU - a dystopian futuristic kinda mecha AU, sort of an amalgamation of some of my favourite anime in the genre - a bit of NGE, a bit of Gurren-Lagann, a lot of Darling in the Franxx rewrite and improvement, in distinctly AoMomo colors. I poured a lot of thought and love into initial outline of main moments for this one, and I really hope to make it an epic, thrilling action/adventure with a big dash of romance kind of read! Chapters currently not even planned properly, because I need to sit down and consider this seriously. It will definitely be more than 10-15 though, and they will be my usual chapter lengths so.... likely no time soon. :D

7. Aomine Fanclub - I got a plot bunny some time ago and I shared it here and my friends were spurring me on with it, so I started trying it out a little more. I’ve written out like... maybe 30% of this one as well, but need to re-read and reconceptualize to get it back on track. The issue with this one is that I’m not really sure where I want to take it, thus it’s on the back burner at the moment.

8. KagaKuro AoMomo double-date kind of story, where Aomine is asking some curious questions of Taiga about going to America and pondering if any of his immediate friends know what Satsuki wants to do with her life. I’m really invested in this one but haven’t started properly writing it out yet beyond just sketching out the idea so I don’t forget it. (I’d say 1% complete here.) Really looking forward to using the idea of Kagami being super impressed with AoMomo perfect sync when playing as a team in arcade games!

9.Laws of Attraction Chapter 2 - You might be surprised at this, but I’m actually super invested in this one. Likely the reason why I am delaying so much working on it - I feel like all my great scene ideas are just too chaotic and I have a hard time starting the chapter flowing properly. I had like 4-5 false starts already and I’m feeling a bit skittish with picking it up. But I have such AMAZING concepts on where to take it after it revvs up the engine, so... Maybe sometime this year! Completion rate: 0% written, but at least about 30% ideas built up for the installment!

10. AoMomo college rooming together story - sort of an expansion on my fill for one of the prompts way back those years ago in AoMomo week. I really dig the concept and the trope of sharing spaces with someone you consider nothing more than a friend and then gradually learning to appreciate each other for something so much more. I am definitely doing this one some day, but not anytime soon, likely.

11. A random idea bit me the other day (read: a month ago) and I actually wrote out like... maybe 25% of it already as well. A random comment from Wakamatsu miffs Satsuki but then she realizes why he’s asking dumb questions and she comes to realize that something is wrong with the equation: either Dai-chan likes someone really close to them and she hasn’t realized, which is unlikely, or Dai-chan likes HER and is super blase about it in a way that betrays his feelings not at all, which is even more unlikely. Being a curious individual, she sets out to find which it is! Some hilarity should ensue but mostly just some mess-with-Dai-chan fun!

12. Touou summer training camp at the sea - progress is practically 0, I wanted to write a summery piece and set my mind on this, but nothing beyond has come to me, so I’m not forcing it.

13. AoMomo cultural festival fic in second year of high school (meaning something approx end of Oct -> beginning of Nov.) with Daiki being in a distinctly Haruhu Suzumiya role at that festival (has anyone even seen this anime? I adored that episode to freaking bits, man, it’s engraved upon my soul) and singing Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell” and one more song just like Haruhi did. And Satsuki just beholding the phenomenon he becomes in no time flat while he lays bare his passion for life for all the student body to see. Shippiness will happen in private afterwards!

14. You Can Leave Your Hat On Chapter 2 - Probably like 2-3 years ago while I was still in the damn woodwork and wrestling with real life and adulting being crap, I remembered this AU premise and I got super hyped on the idea of Club Owner Dai-chan being a flirt with innocent Satsuki who got dragged to his joined and fell in love at first sight with his shenanigans. I’ve already played around for like 7k words with the second chapter of this but I’m still not where I want to be at, so it will take a while longer to flesh it out.

15. Idol Worship - a story that I promised my mate aricana some 6 years ago the premise for which I am super hyped for but not quite engaging with it yet. The idea was that Momoi finally starts gettiing the dates she has been pesting Kuroko for for years, and Daiki feeling terrible about beholding that, whilst Kise is being pestered by Horikita Mai for a date and instead ditches her with Daiki because he knows his former Teikou classmate is a huge fan of her. Mai-chan isn’t particularly happy but somehow ends up enjoying her time with Daiki and starts considering actually pursuing him instead of Kise when she sees what an interesting soul he is, with the torch that he’s carrying for some girl in his life he doesn’t really talk about but is evident from the little things he drops off as hits. AoMomo shenanigans will start to ensue properly when Satsuki realizes that Daiki is actually having a close female friend who is not her but is Horikita Mai instead, Dai-chan’s perfect woman, practically. She doesn’t take well to the news and has to grapple with why that is! And what to do with these newfound frustrating emotions!

16. Obstruction of Justice Chapter 3 - MAYBE SOME DAY, I WILL GET TO WRITING THIS. Last summer I inteded to do just that but instead, Wild Side of Justice was born. And it became a spin off of sorts on its own. ORZ. I WILL FINISH THIS SOME DAY, I do have some plans for it and I do have the desire to pursue them. I just need to be in the right headspace for it ahsjkfhkjaf

17. A PWP story of Kagami arriving early for a practice match at Touou and somehow walking in on AoMomo getting busy with each other in very unexpected and explicit ways that Kagami did not see headed his way. Because, we need more PWP in this fandom, honestly.

18. And since we DO need more PWP, recently when checking the 30 lemons community on LJ (shut up, I’m not ancient, YOU’RE ANCIENT) I was wondering how exactly a smut plot around the “Taken by the Faceless Stranger” could work for Aomomo and I came up with this Masquerade ball that they end up both attending because of their friends and meeting each other and hitting off fantastically just chatting the night and then banging in a niche in the long castle-like premise of the ball. :’DDDD Cuz it’s me and if I don’t have something like that in the works, you know i’m likely sick.

ALL OF THESE I am planning on eventually finishing one day. ONE DAY!

For now they are in various states of completion and in various stages of being cared for and improved on with more ideas added and fleshed out.

I am not joking when I say I am very invested in this fandom. I just have difficulty getting to writing out these ideas when I spend like 60% of my free time playing my mobile games. :D

So there you have it. I didn’t want to say anything about these because 1) I don’t want to get your hopes up. You Can Leave Your Hat On 2, for one, has been in the making for 3 years, very on-again-off-again kind of way, and I just... can’t do that to you guys. I have decided against posting any incomplete fics so I don’t torture you guys and my muse doesn’t abandom me forever for them. So when something is complete, it gets posted promptly for your viewing pleasure!

And 2) If I divulge too much of the story, I feel like my hype of it may disappear completely. Ehh, my muse is a willful creature, what can I tell you...

So let’s hope at least SOME of these get to see the light of day soon!

I finally finished speedrunning through all of the Convict childcare au tag (sorry for the barrage of likes and reblogs) and I love it so fucking much, an absolute wild ride. Just a few questions, I know you established that Techno made the Den as a safe place for Dream (ty btw, just peak rivalsduo content righ there) but I'm wondering who he would allow down there, aside from Michael of course, and under what circumstances (good/bad)? And has Dream ever tried the Void escape route? How does it work/affect him?

Okay, first and foremost, I dunno what weirdo started the whole "spam likes/reblogs is a bad/not normal thing" but lemme tell you 1) it's bullshit nonsense 2) entirely antithetical to how tumblr works. Tumblr has such a through tagging system including options like /chrono SO people can go back through older content easily and like/reblog as much of it as they want. That is the entire point. Going through someone's blog is totally normal and has been a thing since tumblr started. I only started hearing about "spam" likes/reblogs in like 2021, before that I never saw anyone mention it because that was just. How you interacted on tumblr.

Anyways, putting that minor rant aside!! Convict childcare au!!

c!Ranboo is openly welcome in the Den, and he's the only one with standing permission to enter the Den whenever he feels like it. Sometimes he likes to go down there for quiet time.

c!Techno is usually welcome, but he's sure to always ask permission. It's more to remind c!Dream that he has control over this space & his consent matters than anything else, but he sticks with it regardless. c!Phil, c!Niki and c!Tubbo are all also allowed down with permission, although it's rare that they visit. Of them, Tubbo goes down the most often, usually to check on Michael.

In the case of an emergency, any of them would be welcome to hide down in the Den, but few of them would. Unless they were bringing Michael down. While it's an amazing safe spot for Dream, for anyone else it's a trap because they can't take the void route.

Speaking of the void route, Dream has tested it out! Being an Ender Dragon hybrid, he can safely fly through the void (and anyone he's holding onto is protected as well). He's used this to create a network of tunnels into the void all around the server, including at the main hub. These routes do have to be pretty deep underground, but since they're exclusive to Dream, they're very handy to have around.

Short trips into the void don't effect Dream much, beyond leaving him feeling a lil cold. If he spends too long in there he can come out a bit feral, but he usually leaves before then.

Also only a bit related but Dream likes to lie to Techno and tell him if you fly down through the void you can reach the roof of the nether. Techno doesn't want to believe him, but he can't prove Dream wrong.

A1) Of course! You can submit any memes here! All I ask is that you provide credit and the year it was from if you're able!

Q2) "Will you trigger tag *insert tag here*?"

A2) Sorry, probably not. Nothing personal! It's just that keeping things organized with the current tagging system is a lot of work, and adding unrelated tags will add a bunch more work than I'm willing to take on as a single person. Edit: We now have a "suggestive" tag!

Q3) "What about a flashing tw/cw tag?"

A3) Again, probably not going to happen anytime soon. (But if I ever do get any complaints, I might consider it!) I may also consider adding gif and video tags at some point also.

Q4) "What's your main?"

Q5) "Can I become a mod for this blog?"

A5) I would appreciate the extra help! However, that's something that we'd have to privately discuss in detail! But if you really want to help post, tag, and organise everything here, that would be very nice! Some basic requirements for would be to

1: Be kind (aka don't be mean or a bigot)

2: Have some knowledge of Drawn to Life (you don't have to know everything. But if you don't know the general plot of the DS games at VERY least, it probably won't work out. I prefer you have general knowledge of all games excluding the spongebob one because spoilers will be everywhere)

3: Be willing to organize and help out (self explanatory)

4: Be willing to communicate! (Don't reorganize or make new tags without letting me know! I got a little system in place!)

5: Don't spam!

6: Have fun with it!

Q6) "Will you tag spoilers?"

A6) Yes! Look out for the tags "dtl spoilers" for the original drawn to life, "tnc spoilers" for The Next Chapter on the DS, "wii spoilers" for the Wii version of The Next Chapter, and "tr spoilers" for Two Realms! However, sometimes posts can accidentally go untagged. So if you want to avoid spoilers of any of the drawn to life games, I recommend avoiding this blog and maybe blocking it. By the way, if we were to get another game, I wouldn't worry about spoilers from this blog for the first several months at least. This is because it takes a long while to prepare (mentally and physically) new tags for the blog.

Q7) "Hey! I don't want my meme/post on this blog! Can you take it down?"

A7) Sure! I can do that. Just link the post you're referring to, and I'll take care of it.

Q8) "Hey, that meme/post was made by someone who is really bad and gross... Can you delete it?"

A8) The answer to this is kinda complicated and highly depends on the situation. Since this blog is a sort of archive, I am very reluctant to remove posts. But if the post is recent enough, I might consider removing it. However if the post/meme is old enough, I'll likely consider it public domain and probably keep it up. However, If convinced the original poster is bad enough, I will go out of my way to avoid content from them. Also don't worry, if you point out a post that has crummy content (lgbtq+phobic, racist, ableist, etc) I'll remove it.

Q9) "What's up with the "discord nonsense" tag? Some of the stuff in there isn't even Drawn to Life related! Are they all from a specific server?"

A9) The "discord nonsense" tag is a general tag for anything related to the discord app/servers. In other words, it doesn't apply to only one server. However, anytime you see a discord post that doesn't seem to have anything related to Drawn to Life, that specific moment/meme is from the Drawn to Life for All discord server! Q10) "Hey, that post isn't a meme! I thought this was a meme blog! ...Do you think that post is a joke?"

A10) While this is a meme blog that primarily focuses on memes, other non-meme posts get reblogged here for varying reasons. One of the most common reasons is that the post simply had something that was funny/silly. Sometimes it's the content itself, and sometimes it's just a silly caption under a piece of art. Another common reason is that the post was lgbtqa+ related. The Drawn to Life fandom is largely comprised of queer people, and thus a lot of these kind of posts (jokey/silly or otherwise) exist! Lgbtqa+/mogai posts added here are NOT added here to mock them. They are added here because they're cool and I want to share them. There's a good amount of non-meme posts here that are here just because they're cool. 😎

Q11) Hey, do you repost memes? Is there a tag for reposted stuff?

A11) Yes, I sometimes do repost memes! I've only gotten around to doing that recently though, so there isn't too much variety yet. I don't have a tag for reposts yet, but plan to soon!

Q12) Hey this post is dated/credited wrong!

A12) Sometimes finding the year(s) of a post/meme is challenging. Especially if it's reposted from somewhere else (whether the reposter is us or someone else). Giving proper credit can be difficult for similar reasons. So if you notice that a year tag or credit given looks off, be sure to let me know!

Q13) What's with the everybody loves/hates x tags? Do you have some kind of agenda with these?

A13) Like all the other tags, they are purely categorical! They are for any mention/implication of people liking/disliking these things (and in the case of the everybody hates wilfre tag, it's about him being not well liked in-game). These tags are named like that to exaggerate the love/hatred of said thing (as many people tend to do outside of this blog). The tags' exaggeration are intended to be silly (and lightheartedly poke fun at those who exaggerate this sort of thing). These tags are NOT intended to spread any kind of agendas or the blog's personal opinion. They're not telling you what to like/dislike, nor are they telling you liking/disliking certain things are wrong. The tags ARE reflections of what I've seen in the fandom. If you want an opposite of one of these tags, lmk! If there's enough posts that fit the bill, I'll consider making it!

Q14) What's with the tag "sexy wilfre"??? 👀 👀 📷

A14) It's a joke about Wilfre being a "(tumblr) sexy man". For posts where he's treated as one by fans (or at the very least, one attractive raposa) Admittedly, I could've worded that one better lol.

Sorry for the upcoming spam. All characters will get their own post but only the details will be posted on this one. The rest will just have a link to this.

Two years ago I started a little project (and last year's) to see what the fic numbers were for certain ships on Ao3 and Fanfiction.net, and today I wish to show this year's stats! The first time I only did seven characters, last year I did eleven, and this time I did fifteen (adding Shinso, Mei, Toga, and Nejire)!

So now, to the specifics.

To do this, I basically looked at the numbers for tagged ships in the filter system each site has (which was a lot easier for FF.net than Ao3). I excluded poly, OC, and x reader ships as that would have questioned my sanity to track them all down. I also excluded any ships that fell below 1% or 0.5% depending on the overall number cause I didn’t wanna cite every ship that might have 1 fic in existence (this took half a day to gather the data as is).

Midoriya and Bakugo were unique in that their fic numbers being so high that certain ships got buried, so I split them into Combined and Heterosexual so you could see more. For Izuku, I did this for both FF.net and Ao3, just Ao3, for Katsuki.

Crossover fics on FFnet were excluded as they are not included with the main set of fics (though people still post crossovers on the main set anyways), which means I would need to do double the work for each ship. Luckily they are a small data set (less than 10%) and usually have cross shipping over in-universe more often than not.

Illegal ships were also excluded (no kid x adults). In most cases, their numbers were small enough that they wouldn’t have been enough to chart anyways. However, for a few characters, it was a factor, so they were removed.

And for some small details: The number next to the title of each chart is the total number of fics used for the data set. Colors are probably inconsistent as I had to use a slider to choose them, which reset with each new data set. Also if two of the same colors I assigned to characters happened to be right next to one another, I chose one as black (which never conflicts with Tokoyami or Sero). And finally, I used my preferences for name spellings (English spellings beside Tooru and Ochako).

Now to the flaws.

FF.net has a much smaller pool to pull from (Ao3 has ~7x more fics) and is limited to only being able to tag two ships at a time for a fic. On the flip side, ships that are tagged are much more likely to be a showcase in that story. While Ao3′s numbers are impressive (just passed 140k), the downside is that writers can tag to their heart’s content, so lots of fics that get tagged for a ship often have little to no presence in the fic (or is just ultra harem wank nonsense).

So super accurate, this is not. Take the results with a grain of salt.

I had a great week cleaning code and fixing bugs. If you have a big database, it will take a minute to update this week.

all misc this week, most bug fixes

I fixed a critical bug in tag siblings. It was causing some tag siblings to be forgotten, particularly on local tag services, and particularly when a tag had a sibling removed and added (e.g. 'delete A->B, then add A->C') in the same transaction. I will keep working here and will trigger a new sibling reprocess in the future just as 450 did so we can fix more PTR issues.

The new content-based processing tracking had a couple more issues. Some Linux users, in particular, it just broke for, due to a SQLite version issue. I have fixed that, and I have fixed some issues it caused for IPFS. There are new unit tests to make sure this won't happen again.

I fixed an issue with sessions recently not saving thumbnail order correctly!

I fixed issues with some of the new Client API file search parameters not working right!

Big video files should import a bit faster, and will show more status updates as they do their work.

We have had more anti-virus problems in recent weeks. We'd hoped building on github would eliminate them, but it hasn't completely. A user helped me trace one issue to the Windows installer. We have 'corrected' it (believe it or not, it was removing the 'open help' checkbox on the final page of the install wizard, and yes the reasons for why this was causing problems are ridiculous), so with luck there will be fewer problems. Thank you for the reports, and let me know if you have more trouble!

stupid anti-virus thing:

we have had several more anti-virus false positives just recently. we discovered that at least one testbed used by these companies was testing the 'open html help' checkbox in the installer, which then launched Edge on the testbed, and then launched the Windows Update process for Edge and Skype, which was somehow interacting with UAC and thus considered suspicious activity owned by the hydrus installer process, lmao. thereafter, it seems the installer exe's DNS requests were somehow being cross-connected with the client.exe scan as that was identified as connected with the installer. taking that checkbox out as a test produced a much cleaner scan. there is a limit to how much of this nonsense I will accomodate, but this week we are trying a release without that 'open help' link in the installer, let's see how it goes

semi-related, I brushed up the install path message in the installer and clarified help->help will open the help in the first-start welcome popup message

misc:

I fixed a critical bug in tag sibling storage when a 'bad' tag's mapping is removed (e.g. 'delete A->B') and added ('add A->C') in the same transaction, and in a heap of fun other situations besides, that mostly resulted in the newly added sibling being forgotten. the bug was worse when this was on a local tag service via the manage siblings dialog. this problem is likely the cause of some of our weird sibling issues on clients that processed certain repository updates extremely quickly. I will keep investigating here for more issues and trigger another sibling reset for everyone in the future

the 'show some random pairs' button on the duplicates page is nicer--the 'did not find any pairs' notification is a popup rather than an annoying error dialog, and when there is nothing found, it also clears the page of thumbs. it also tries to guess if you are at the end of the current search, and if so, it will not do an auto re-fetch and will clear the page without producing the popup message

fixed a bug that meant file order was not being saved correctly in sessions! sorry for the trouble!

import of videos is now a little faster as the ffmpeg call to check resolution and duration is now retained to check for presence of an audio channel

when files are imported, the status messages are now much more granular. large and CPU-heavy files should move noticeably from hash generation to filetype calculation to metadata to actual file copying

fixed a database query bug in the new processing progress tracking code that was affecting some (perhaps older) versions of sqlite

when you trash/untrash/etc... a file in the media viewer, the top hover text now updates to show the file location change

fixed a typo bug in the new content type tracking that broke ipfs pinning yet again, sorry for the trouble! (issue #955)

I fleshed out my database pending and num_pending tests significantly. now all uploadable content types are tested, so ipfs should not break at the _db_ level again

the page tab menu now clumps the 'close x pages' into a dynamic submenu when there are several options and excludes duplicates (e.g. 'close others' and 'close to the left' when you right-click the rightmost page)

the page tab menu also puts the 'move' actions under a submenu

the page tab menu now has 'select' submenu for navigating home/left/right/end like the shortcuts

fixed some repository content type checking problems: showing petition pages when the user has moderation privileges on a repository, permission check when fetching number of petitions, and permissions check when uploading files

fixed a typo in the 'running in wine' html that made the whole document big and bold

across the program, a 'year' for most date calculations like 'system:time imported: more than a year ago' is now 365 days (up from 12 x 30-day months). these will likely be calendar calculated correctly in future, but for now we'll just stick with simple but just a bit more accurate

fixed a bug in mpv loop-seek when the system lags for a moment just when the user closes the media viewer and the video loops back to start

client api:

expanded my testing system to handle more 'read' database parameter testing, and added some unit tests for the new client api file search code

fixed the 'file_sort_asc' in the new client api file search call. it was a stupid untested typo, thank you for the reports (issue #959)

fixed 'file_service_name' and 'tag_service_name' when they are GET parameters in the client api

I fleshed out the file search sort help to say what ascending/descending means for each file sort type

boring database cleanup:

to cut down on redundant spam, the new query planner profile mode only plans each unique query text once per run of the mode

also fixed an issue in the query planner with multiple-row queries with an empty list argument

refactored the tag sibling and parent database storage and lookup code out to separate db modules

untangled and optimised a couple of sibling/parent lookup chain regeneration calls

moved more sibling and parent responsibility to the new modules, clearing some inline hardcoding out of the main class

cleaned up a bunch of sibling, parent, and display code generally, and improved communication between these modules, particularly in regards to update interactions and display sync

the similar files data tables are migrated to more appropriate locations. previously, they were all in client.caches.db, now the phash definition and file mapping tables are in master, and the similar files search record is now in main

next week

I've managed to catch up on some critical issues, and some IRL stuff also eased up, so I have some breathing room. I want to put some more time into multiple local file services, which has been delayed, likely some way to search over previously deleted files.
