It's been more than week so maybe I'm ready to say something about stereo mind game now...

it's just such a wonderful album, I said this once before already but it has this vibe of like quiet cautious happiness. It's still a daughter album, but compared to Not to disappear, it's like coming out on the other side of a real intense and heavy sadness, still holding that weight but no longer shunning happiness when it does come to you.

there is a real feeling of intimacy over the album aswell. Not to disappear can be really big and loud at times (which makes it great) but this isn't and it just gives such a heartaching but also heartwarming feeling because of it I think. It's less of the gutwrenching heavy coldness of Not to disappear and more like a stormy summer night. Its still sad and tough but there's a warmness to it all, and almost all the songs have this feeling of holding onto hope despite everything.

I love Not to disappear soooo much, it was my favorite album for soo long, but despite that I'm so happy that Stereo mind game is so different, it makes it feel like the 6 years between them really mattered. Growth is the word I want to associate w this album. Growing as a person despite hardship, despite it not being easy or even something that feels doable at all sometimes. The growth of the band to get to where they are now. Makes me think all the flower imagery is very much deliberate. I've been watching dandelions grow and die and grow...

I wanna write about all the songs individually aswell, but that might take a while and this post is already way to long so I might do that in the comings week or something 💗
