Transmasc Manga Reccomendations
OK so I have a anime planet list of transmasc manga but since anime planet doesn't have every manga that features a transmasc in it, I'll be putting it here! This is specifically transmasc cuz A. I am transmasc and B. if I tried to name every manga with a transfem this post would be too long, if u want good resources on how to look for trans characters in manga I'd recommend checking the transgender character tag in baka updates manga!
I'll also add TWs in case u need it though in general these stories deal with topics of homophobia and transphobia
After School Mate:
The final chapter just came out so now's a good time to read it! It's sweet, not the best tbh (very simplistic and the story is kind of boring) but it's a wholesome slice of life
Bokura no VR
One shot, a comedy but doesn't treat the trans character like a bit, pretty good, but doesn't focus on transness
Boys Run the Riot
I (personally) don't like Boys run the Riot BUT it does the job! It's nice, the themes are a bit heavy handed and it makes some....shitty ass points but hey I'll take any representation !
Claudine
TW for suicide if reading
Personally, I didn't really like it LMAO just cuz of how wordy it is (a lot of old, historical manga is incredibly wordy, take Paris no Ken as an example) but it's pretty good !
Family Compo
TW for sexual assault
Ok so like. This is bad <3 Read it if u want but don't expect anything
Fire Punch
TW for sexual assault, zoophilia/beastiality, a LOT of gore, nudity, and a lot of sex jokes LoL
Fire Punch is very good, if u haven't heard of it it's the first serialized manga by the Chainsaw Man guy ! It's better than Chainsaw Man imo but I have terrible taste and I think a trans person being in a story elevates it to god tier status LMAO but there's also a lot of heavy subject matter (if u couldn't tell from the TWs) so read with caution (but it's very good if u do choose to read it, it's my favorite manga)
G. I. D
Not translated BUT I have raws if anyone wants to...y'know...translate it.....hi :3
Haikei Seken Sama
Also not translated (except for a shitty translation I made I never uploaded cuz it's bad) but it's pretty good!
Heart no Daiya
The transmasc in this manga is a very minor character but I actually really like him LMAO would recommend
Honey & Honey
Mainly about a sapphic couple BUT a LOT of the secondary cast are trans men (also I think the writer ends up getting with one of the trans men in the story so good for her!)
Level E
Would heavily reccomend! It's good and has a happy ending :3
My Hero Academia
Never watched or read but Tiger exists so I have to put it on here LoL
Orange Sweet Olive Blossoms
Ok so this is incredibly debatable BUT the main character declares they are a man and had seen themselves as a man for their whole life so.....I'm counting it
Our Dreams at Dusk: Shimanami Tasogare
Tbh this is a good manga I just remember none of it ! The trans character is a background character with a pretty short plotline but it's a good read regardless
Paros no Ken
Same case with Claudine of being really wordy, but still good! I really like the main character LMAO
Sakura-Chan to Amane-Kun
My icon.....um I like this one a normal amount ! Please read it it's so cute
Seton Academy: Join the Pack
Don't read <3
Shonen Note: Boy Soprano
Also debatable, but a character is implied to be transmasc (though never fully stated)
Sket Dance
REALLY minor character who shows up in the last dance arc, but really cute story! Would recommend
Stop!! Hibari-Kun
Trans guy only shows up in one chapter but also I love him, please read
The Gay Who Turned Kaiju
Good manga! Have only read once, but I liked it :3
To Strip the Flesh
ALSO really good! Would recommend. I'm running out of things to say
Villain
Main supporting character is transmasc non-binary I think ? Idk there's only been four chapters so I'm not too sure
Wandering Son
TW for sexual assault
Kinda boring but I'd still give it a shot! I have never fully read it through tho LMAO
Welcome to room #305
Pretty cute! I never read the full manga (only the arc about the trans character) but I liked what I did read
Yuureitou
TW for sexual assault, a lot of nudity, a lot of blood/death, trans misogyny
I wish I could recommend this one cuz I LOVE THIS MANGA but also.....a lot of it is terrible....but I love it.....if u wanna read it I'd recommend it just heed the warnings please!
Yuzu no Koto
Pretty cute! I'm running out of things to say LoL
Zenbu Kimi No Sei
TW it's an ecchi manga....so....nudity and fan service...a lot of it
A gender bender ecchi manga BUT it does have two transgender characters (one of them got a major plotline recently) and tbh it's pretty well written! I'd recommend it
Chiguhagu
Good! I liked it
Silkscreen
Only read this once but it was really good from what I recall!
Croquis
TW for sexual assault
Ok so this is gay porn so be 18+ to read it, tho it's cute!

Here's an ask for you, dear mutual! What are your 3 most favorite games? Would you recommend them?
MUTUAL MY BELOVED THAT'S A GREAT QUESTION THANK YOU
I just, whoa, RESPECT for separating 'favourite' games and If I would 'recommend' them. Respect, man, cause yup, favourite game doesn't always have to be a good game xD
From the top o my head, the top 3 would be: Outer Wilds, Pyre and Horizon ZD. These are also games that kind of I could separate my life by - before (title) and after it.
Outer Wilds is a masterpiece, Please. Everyone. Try. This. Game. Out.
Tumblr media
If I had to choose ONE game that I could reccomend, it would be this. Outer Wilds is an incredible experience, this is so freakin hard to put into words properly. I'm sure any gamer saw at least one of the actual dozens of essays about this game, and it still deserves more in my opinon. This is the most beautiful game I have ever played, this is the most frightening game I have ever played, this is the most adrenaline out of everything I have ever played, this is, okay it is the Second most musical game I have played, this is the most joyous game I have ever played, this is the most hopeful game I've ever played. Outer Wilds is amazing and it is the everything game I've ever played. If you love exploration - you gotta play it, if you love space - you gotta play it, if you love space westerns my beloved best genre ever - you gotta play it, if you love existential joy and dread in one package - you gotta play it.
Thankfully, everyone single person is different, which is great, because otherwise the world would be terribly boring. However, this also means this game won't really grab you if you like more linear or handholding experiences, cause this game is ALL about exploration, and well, it won't really entertain you if you're not actively trying to do that yourself. Oh, I am also unsure how it controls on keyboard, but this game feels very much controller-centric experience, you'll need the ability to press those buttons gently, trust me. Except the autopilot, it will guaranteed entertain you xD.
Now, Pyre is the aforementioned Most Musical Game I have ever played.
Tumblr media
I've been a long-time Supergiant Games fan, as Darren Korb has stole my soul away in 2013 with the Transistor OST, and I don't really want it back. If the name rings a bell, but you can't place it - these are the authors of HADES. While Transistor is very near and dear to my heart, Pyre is just a very unique blend of exact concentrations of everything I love in a game.
IT'S NOT A SPORTS GAME.
Pyre is much more of a visual novel really, the arcade battles in-between are kind of rare tbh, most of your time you will be reading in this game. I love party-RPGs, but my favourite game in the genre is Dragon Age 2, which is, while an okay game, it's my favourite because of the companions and their dynamics, not only with the player, but with each other as well, and watching them grow, progress and interact is a pure joy. Pyre scratches that exact itch - you're really playing for the story and the characters inside of it, it's great fun. Visually, the game is a Grade-Supergiant Masterpiece, and musically, well, let's just say Darren Korb and Ashley Barrett have their own minstrel characters.
Pyre is also, in my opinion, the most freakin DIVERSE Supergiants game. The player character basically leads the Triumvirate of their traveling companions (yeah, it's also a roadmovie!) to compete with other Triumvirates, each one consisting of a rival team, and each, Each, of the Seven teams have their own music track and bring their own genre to the OST pallete. These genres will range from folk with different instruments, to chivalric tunes, to metal, ....existential rock? remember the threat track from the Spiderverse with the siren? basically, this game has something like that. And it's not just one 'battle' track that works like this either! There is a special Rite (arcade ritual where you play against a rival team), which has the two minstrels sing the g o r g e o u s key title song Never to Return, which was Seven variations of music and lyrics for this song, depending on which team you're up against. The way Darren made the initial song bend to all those different genres and instruments is fascinating to me. Pyre and Outer Wilds OSTs both fall into the very exclusive category 'I will bawl my goddamn eyes out if I hear even a single note', Outer Wilds OST is a powerful beast for sure, but you can't really compete with a title that has music ingrained so deeply into it, so Pyre is first place for me.
youtube
The difficulty and lore in this title are no slouches either. Supergiants have this cool lore habbit of unlocking it through gameplay experimentation, and this principle also works in Pyre without a hitch. Some character might get seasick, and won't be able to participate in a Rite (arcade game part), or a rival team will have a familiar of theirs and the character will ask to not be pitied against their friend or family. The games does a supreme job of blending together gameplay and story decisions like that, this should be like studied in gamedev. Also, the story around some particular rivals might make you actually want to lose to them, and I haven't seen much games that accomplish this.
Difficulty is also a fun aspect of the game to play with, Supergiant have a habit of locking additional world lore behind challenges, and let's just say this game has Challenge if you ask for it. The AI in this game can play better than any player, cause you need all the reaction speed, enemy team knowledge, skill ad party composition of your own team and strategy to win, it's extremely fun to play around, at least it is for me. Let's just say on my high difficulty with modifiers playthrough, the final battle lasted for about 11 minutes for me (in a game that has Rites finish in maybe 3 min), and my bloodstream has never seen such high percentage of adrenaline as it did for those 11 minutes, probably never will either. I keep the whole footage for myself, and oh boy how many jumpscares are there xD Literal fight for the ages, it was amazing. Best feature yet?
You can lose every single Rite and still finish the game. There is no 'joke' ending either, it's entirely possible to never score a single win if you wish to and the story will adapt to it. The same way 'winning' is not always 'best' for the character but that's for you to choose really.
Basically, this game has everything - roadmovie, fun gameplay, a Holy-Grade OST, amazing characters and a great story. The only real reason you might not get into it is if you don't like reading, cause this game has a lot of reading. As all good rpgs and visual novels do and should.
For my third fave I choose Horizon ZD.
Tumblr media
The robodino-infested post-post-apocalypse got to me, alright. I love the world of this series, for me it's like a personification of hope really. It's also the first game I played when I got my ps4 and that was a huge deal for me) The bio-ecological focus of the game is also very very much my jam. I love just booting up the game and wondering around and just vibing in there. The design of all the tribal cultures, their traditions, myths and clothing is also a joy for me, it's really fascinating for some reason. Love this game very much. The gameplay is great fun, and also this game got me into my first photomode frenzy, I got very hard into game-photography because of this title) Got a habbit of using my screens for wallpapers and icons everywhere, and I've been doing that ever since.
Honourable mentions:
Darksiders series (1,2,3 and Genesis)
Tumblr media
I love these games, they are very fun, the OSTs are amazing, especially Jasper Kyd's for the second game and Astarte theme from the Genesis. I have lost count of how much times I replayed Darksiders 2, it's been way too many that's for sure, and how could you even resist a Riders of the Apocalypse game with their actual steeds?! These are great fun. Also there's an extremely good novel Abomination Vault about Death and War, and I have reread this one waaaaaay too many times too (it's so good!). Obligatory reminder for everyone to play Genesis btw, it's a truly great darksiders title, everyone's really sleeping on it.
Rain World
Tumblr media
I. Do not know. What to say about this game. It's amazing, it's horrible, it's frustrating, it's occasionally fun? All of these. Most of all, Rain World is truly unique. The game has amazing creature AI and procedual animation, and these two factors result in a very very Very unique experience, I suggest anyone tries it. This is too, a very bio-ecology themed game, and the art is honestly gorgeous.
I've fallen into literal toxic relationship with this title - I love it, I hate it, I can't get enough of it, I'm so goddamn fed up with it I can't play this anymore, I'll surely close the game after another death.
Red Strings Club
Tumblr media
Another visual novel! This one is only a 3 or so hours one, but with a twist. My friend suggested we play it when we were hanging out together, and, lemme tell you, the dialogue, the plot, the themes, the questions that this game asks of you had us spend three times the 'standard' playtime. This game is literally pool-wide and marianna-trench-deep, it's amazing.
DMC5 & CONTROL
Tumblr media
I grouped these two together, cause these games are FUELED by fun. These games were made For fun, To have fun, and By People Who Were having Fun Making Them. DMC5 will also train you harder than any Guitar Hero, while CONTROL will stealthily make you architecture and Sam Lake - obsessed. CONTROL is also the source of all of my current wallpapers, cause photography in this game is On Point. Both are great and a real joy, also I have played them the same year)
this is where I would have mentioned DRG if I had put more hours into it
Thank you for reading all of this, and game on my friends)

HELL YEAH IVE BEEN WAITING 4 THIS QUESTION--
long story short, yes, it was incredible and if ur able to see it I would HIGHLY recommend getting tickets
Going into detail tho...
Let's start off w/ Jordan Fisher since he was (imo) the weakest link of the main cast. The end of Joannah was kinda anticlimactic and his vocal range wasn't the best. You could tell he didn't have opera lessons or smthn whilst the whole cast was very classical sounding, but I'm going to take a guess he just didn't have enough breath support since he sounded a bit shakey towards the end. He was stronger in the second act tho he wasnt rlly belting then. Jordan Fisher has never rlly surprised me vocally, but that's not rlly a bad thing, I just kinda wish they casted someone a bit more fit for the role.. but if that was the "worst" thing abt the show, I think it's going to be just fine.
The ensembles dancing was either hit or miss, some of it was very awkward whilst other numbers was incredible and clever. For "there was a barber and his wife" They had two dancers on a platform where they danced in the dark and it made them seem like silhouettes in the moonlight. Seeing as the show is still in previews, tho, they still have time to patch it up :).
Gaten Matarazzo was great as Toby and had nice vocals. I was also able to see him in deh and although he was more a talking role I think he is a great singer and actor. He definitely pulled off the ending as well and didn't worry about looking attractive or something while conveying to the audience that he had succumbed to the stress of his situation. Believe it or not I've seen a few shows where an actor would try to make themself look hot but also insane and its just kinda annoying tbh-- like they always sacrifice being believable over being handsome/pretty. All in all, he is a great performer and had wonderful stage presence.
Johanna was incredible. Like actually incredible. Green finch and linnet bird is one of my favorite numbers and she did it justice. I forget her actresses name unfortunately, but she was truly Johanna when she was onstage, and embodied the character beautifully.
Beedle was hateable as was the judge, but that's good because it means that they did their job well. Funny thing is that when he said his line "Deceiving slut!" A person behind me just went "oh-- 😨" and it was clear everyone was surprised.
The beggar woman was so good omg-- like she was great at switching between personalities when begging and it was so funny at times but other times it had the audience sobbing or thinking.
Mrs. Lovett was so incredibly funny it was unexpected. She's no Angela Lansbury but I think it's unfair to compare them to each other since no one is going to be as great as her. She was very lively and I never felt bored when she was onstage! Well-- I was never bored during the show but you know what I mean! Her songs were great and she has her own little twist on things. I don't know if they changed the key for "worst pies in london" bc I haven't listened to the og recording a lot but I wouldn't be surprised since every Mrs. Lovett has had a different key it seems. I really hope I get to see her in something else because she was just so fun to watch and I just loved her so much!
And finally...
JOSH FUCKING GROBAN LEZZ FUCKING GOOOO--
I love that man! I fucking love that man so much 😭!
He was absolutely incredible. My mother said she doubted he would be able to pull off an insane middle aged man but my god, he did it. It was strange to see him being so mean and malicious considering he seems so nice irl, but he was so great and I'm so glad he got to play Sweeney. And I'm even more thrilled that I got to SEE him play Sweeney. His vocals were stunning and he was incredible at acting (even if Todd himself is a rather silent and monotonous man).
So yes, all in all, it was amazing and I rlly hope I'll see it again! Here are some pictures of the stage and playbill :)

hi axelle! do you have recent or currently airing BLs to recommend? I'm bored LOL
hi :) yes I do! I've honestly been enjoying the latest bl batch so much tbh, like it's not incredible but I'm having a great time! in order from my fave to my slightly less fave (I also included shows that stopped airing less 2 months ago):
be my favorite: it's no secret that I'm HOOKED to this show already! it really has the potential to become a favorite of mine if it plays its cards right bc I love the premise of someone disatisfied with their life traveling time to make it better, as I find it highly relatable. I also love the characters already and I think the writing & pace of the show is extremely well done so far :) episodes watched: 2/10. grade so far: 8,5/10.
bokura no shokutaku: I started this show with zero expectation & we all know that's how you get the best surprises. and yup this show has stolen my heart entirely. I literally spent the last episode clutching my chest while smiling like an idiot, it's such a wholesome, feel good show while also working through the characters' traumas & the ship is SO good! I absolutely love it :) episodes watched: 9/10. grade so far: 8,5/10.
la pluie: idk the general opinion of this show & I don't wanna know (unless it's my followers, share away babes!) but I really like it. I think the characters are very lovable, especially the brothers saengtai & saengtien, I think the acting is good, the plot is simple yet interesting & makes you want to watch more, the chemistry is very good as well, and some of the themes of the show about love, soulmates & breaking up are definitely worth exploring. overall it's also a show I look forward to every week :) episodes watched: 6/12. grade so far: 8/10.
a boss and a babe: a show I did not plan on ever watching, but I'm so glad I did! even though it's a pretty simple show &, yes, is still definitely an hr violation lmao, I really liked it. it really shows that you can make a basic show so much more interesting by developing all of its characters including its side characters, touching on their mental health & other traumas well. you can tell the writers really cared about their characters & it made for a surprisingly healthy & heartfelt show. definitely hope to see more bl shows like this one in the near future :) episodes watched: 12/12. grade: 8/10
step by step: even though this is a basic show, I also really like its writing. all of its characters are treated with care & developed well, even when it means not rushing the main relationship which might make the show boring for some. I really appreciated that the last relationship of the main character is developed so well too, it's rare to see a bl show build up the secondary lead that much, even having him kiss the main character before the main lead. it also feels more like a show about a queer relationship than a bl show to me. so while, yes, it's not perfect, and it's also definitely another hr violation lol, I am enjoying it. I wish all bl shows put in this much care into their story & characters, bc it really adds something. episodes watched: 7/12. grade so far: 8/10
love mate: I wanted to include some korean bl lol, this one was really cute & the chemistry was frankly perhaps the best I've been coming from a kbl. it's short & sweet, nothing too out of this world but I would recommend it :) episodes watched: 8/8. grade: 8/10
house of stars: lastly, this will be my controversial pick bc from what I've seen people don't like this show, and I don't love it either, but I'm kinda fascinated by it so I needed to include it. there is a lot in this show that I would change, yet I am so intrigued by its main character gun lol, I'm lowkey obsessed with him, and I am so intrigued as to how the love triangle will resolve. I don't expect it to become better with time, but I think this show stands out insanely from other bls & contrarily to what the trailer let us think it's not nearly as exploitative in terms of sex as I thought. just bc of all of that, I would honestly recommend it if you're looking for something messy, mysterious & that will probably let you down in the end lol. if you're watching it come tell me what u think of it in my asks so we can try to make sense of this show! episodes watched: 6/12. grade so far: 7,5/10

Post-weekend thoughts: 24/01/02 edition
1. I am back at work. This is the worst.
2. However, it's pretty slow today so at least it's not the worst. I am thus on tumblr on the company dime.
3. Bought myself a Legion Go as a self Christmas present: I can now play AAA PC games away from my desktop (for about 1.5 hours at a time if not near a power outlet, admittedly, but still!) which really means mostly on the bus to and from work, but given that this is roughly a 1.5 hour trip each way it works out fantastically. Also, since I have a trip to NY coming up next month I will take this instead of my laptop and it will be the best of all worlds! Yay capitalism.
General thoughts: It is pretty heavy - playing it in bed or on the go is a significantly less comfortable experience than something like the Switch. However, the screen is gorgeous and it plays the games I want to play on PC, so. Worth it.
The controllers are a little weirdly sized and shaped for my hands, but not terrible. Would say I prefer them over the Switch joycons but obviously normal Xbox controllers or DualSenses are superior if you have the choice.
The vertical mouse mode I do not think I would use for FPS games, tbh, but for general desktop use or less performance sensitive games that don't have good controller support it's actually pretty good.
So far enjoying it; ask me again in like 6 months.
4. Signed up for a month of gamepass (which I should have done AFTER I bought the Legion Go because it comes with a complimentary 3 month pass, but alas, planning was never my strong suit. The pass is claimable until some point in 2025 though so I can use it later.) and am going through a bunch of games I wanted to try but did not get around to:
5. Starfield: Finished with about 50-60ish hours.
The beginning is rough -- just the worst hook into one of these that I've seen in a while, mostly in the sense that the main plot surrounding the Artifacts is dogshit boring and the missions for the main plot are ALSO dogshit boring (the temples are fucking terrible and a waste of time).
The rest of the game also feels... mediocre in basically all respects. Like, not bad. Just mid. Nothing feels very new and everything that exists feels so... paint by the numbers. Like, here's a planet whose surface looks procedurally generated (I don't know whether it is or not, but it looks that way) -- it doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look all that good either. Here's some RPG skill progression, except there's no way to respec your character (it's fucking 2023, Bethesda, what the fuck?) and every suboptimal choice you made early on (because you didn't know what the fuck you were doing) makes you feel incredibly annoyed at the game. In particular, character is nonexistent -- all your companions feel incredibly boring, and I fucking married Sarah just to see what the romance was like. Like, coming off of BG3 this year (which, tbh, is also not the strongest cast of characters, compared to, e.g., the heights of golden age Bioware, but still very obviously has had a lot of love and care poured into the character writing) into Starfield is just... tragic. I think I spent the first like 5-10 hours mostly thinking "wow, I am so glad I did not pay for this game."
Sidenote: I did not touch the outpost or crafting stuff because guess what I didn't pick those skills in the skill tree :) But also remembering Fallout 4's base building part, none of that seemed particularly engaging. I built one outpost that was a couple buildings just to see what it was like and the building UI was so fiddly that I immediately quit that and never touched it again.
However, the UC Vanguard quest was actually really interesting (highly recommend beelining for this tbh) and once I got a little invested in that the rest of the major faction quests (Freestar Collective, Ryujin, and Crimson Fleet) were all interesting enough that I did not quit after 10 hours and did in fact finish the game.
tldr: 6.5/10, would not recommend unless you also have gamepass and are bored. That said, I did play like 50 hours of it, so. Make of that what you will.
6. Hi-Fi Rush:
I'm actually very bad at these type of combo brawlers (mostly because getting the muscle memory down for the combo variety just takes forever and I always default to using only a handful of moves, which makes me feel bad :( ) but enjoying the presentation and music a lot. It is the most anime, in the best sense.
Also, voice cast. Robbie keeps throwing me for a loop like, hey, I know that guy. Damn you, Critical Role, you have ruined games for me! (Shoutout: Aabria as a background NPC in Starfield - you were a highlight of the entire game, baby.)
Kind of bummed that I started this on gamepass honestly - I should've just paid for it on Steam so I could keep my stats and achievements and stuff. I mean, I COULD buy it on Xbox Windows but that app is garbage 🙃
Yet to finish - but 9/10 would definitely recommend.
7. (Not gamepass but from my winter steam sale haul -- yes, I spend too much money on games) Griftlands:
Klei does not miss. Very solid 10-ish hour game with really good character writing (hi, Bethesda, please take notes). I have beaten all three characters, with only two failed runs on normal difficulty so it's, you know, a decent challenge but nothing too difficult. Still going through and trying out other builds and choices. That said, I'm not usually a deckbuilder player so I couldn't tell you how it stacks up against other deckbuilders.
8.5/10, would definitely recommend on sale.
8. My general next to-play list:
On Gamepass so higher priority during my one month:
Pentiment
The Lamplighter's League
Against the Storm
Slay the Spire
Jusant
Cocoon
Like a Dragon Gaiden
Steam backlog (including things I bought like three years ago and still haven't played/finished...):
Life is Strange 2
Marvel's Midnight Suns
Tales of Berseria
Great Ace Attorney Chronicles
9. As you can tell, I did not do much of anything that was not gaming in the liminal period that is the last week of December. I had a brief thought that maybe I would write something about Laudna and Ashton and what the fuck is up with them during the 3 week BH break, but no, creative brain is out, mindless consumption brain is in! My god, there are so many games these days. I haven't even played Diablo 4, FF16, Alan Wake 2, Super Mario Bros Wonder or Spiderman 2 yet -- admittedly, I am unlikely to ever play Diablo 4 or Alan Wake 2 (I did not finish Alan Wake 1 -- at one point they turned off the lights and I put down my controller and said nope!) but I do theoretically want to get around to the others! Even FF16 which people have also said is mid, I still want to see its midness for myself! Yes, these are very first world problems.
10. Do I plan to do anything that is not gaming through any part of January? Debatable. Such is my life these days.
11. Anyway, happy new year to everyone. Hopefully 2024 is less miserable for the world in general.
P.S. Tumblr rich text editor's treatment of unordered lists and ordered lists is so fucking stupid.

monthly game tag time!
january
1. Fayburrow
i contemplated not even including this one on this list, as it was incredibly short, but i figured i should. story was interesting & the graphics were pretty, but the controls weren't great & again, it is fairly short (half-an-hour at most), but it's completely free & overall a nice experience.
2. Heaven's Vault
honestly i have mixed feelings about this game. the story was really good, but in the end it just felt way too damn long. still, the main game mechanic of translating a language (which was specifically made for this game!!) was super cool to me, i had so much fun with it even though it could be pretty challenging lol so overall i do recommend it! besides the length, probably my biggest issue was how slow the main character moved, but still, if it sounds like something you'd be interested in then overall i definitely recommend it :)
3. Chicken Police - Paint it RED!
this was my personal favorite of the games i played in january. the art style was so unique & the mystery was fairly good, though i'd be remiss if i didn't admit it played into some harmful ableist tropes, which was disappointing. imo where the game truly shined, though, was the world-building. like i literally felt compelled to gather each & every piece of information i could, not just because i'm a completionist, but because i genuinely enjoyed learning more about the fictional world, so i definitely recommend it based on that alone lol
february
1. Bugsnax
if you've been paying attention lately then you probably already know i absolutely adored this game! literally my only criticism was the loading times, everything else was a 10/10 🥰🥰🥰 ...well, actually i do have one more very slight criticism but that would be getting into spoiler territory & i don't want to spoil anything in case someone does decide to pick it up :3
2. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
tbh the controls felt super wonky the first time i tried playing this (which i actually made a post about) but upon retrying it they weren't so bad? i mean i actually managed to finish the game this time lol
but anyway, on to my actual thoughts. i thought this game was pretty good! the story was kind of hard to follow at times, but i think that's probably due to me not being super into star wars lore. also ngl cal was kind of boring to me, like i was much more invested in cere, greez, bd-1, & merrin than i ever was in cal. not that i disliked him or anything, just overall his character arc was the least interesting to me (although i do think it got better in the second half of the game). & speaking of the second half, the final fight? EASILY the best part of the entire game 🤯🤯 like honestly i have to recommend the game based on that alone LOL
3. Hitman GO
having played Lara Croft GO a couple years ago, i decided to give this one a try. honestly there's not much to say about it except that it was fun! you don't have to be super into the Hitman series to play this (i'm certainly not lol), it's really just a fun little strategy game more than anything. plus the graphics & sound design are really nice! i played it on the computer but it's made for mobile & it's only $6, so definitely check it out if you're looking for a good mobile game to play :)

i've been thinking about reviews and critics a lot, and i think how we rate things is a particularly intersting part of this discussion. so,
my thoughts on ratings scales
that isn't really a "scale" per se but more of a negation of the idea of ratings
null (p0/p1)
if every work doesnt get a rating (or gets the same rating), then the rating doesnt matter, and thus the focus goes from the rating to the review, what you actually have to say about it is what matters and should stand on its own
i think that this is best most of the time, because it generally leads discussion to the work itself instead of a simple label youre putting the work under
2 point scale (p2)
that generally comes into the form a bad/good dichotomy, which in my opinion is incredibly over-simplistic.
youre grouping together a mildly entertaining film with a generation-defining masterpiece, or a boring movie with a incredibly offensive and harmful one
and thats kind of by design, as the previous one, it tries to put focus on the text and not the rating, but i find that having such broad categories makes them virtually useless and defeats the purpose of having them in the first place
and thats the one rotten tomatoes uses, kind of, it compiles all individual 2 point reviews in a single 100 point number, which obviously loses a lot of information and makes so broad appeal works generally rate higher than polarizing ones
i think this scale is best used as "don't recommend/recommend", and to not frame it as quality measure, in that way you avoid a lot of the problems it has
rating: bad, its just bad, dont use this
3 point scale (p3)
this is not a very common one tbh, but its kind of an upgrade from the 2 point scale, because it allows you to have a kind of "neutral" rating for works that arent exceptional in either side like a "bad/fine/good"
so its generally better, and i think it has its place in a more informal setting but it still has most of the problems of the previous one
rating: its fine
star rating (★★★★★) (p5)
pretty common one, and for good reason, it has a broad categories that work more of a general sentiment than as a specific rating, and thus doesnt take away the focus from the actual review but still allowing an easy to understand rating
that said, context really matters here, in a lot of platforms like yelp this scale turns into "1 star/5 stars" i.e. a 2 point scale, as the people inclined to rate something are the ones who feel strongly either way. generally the design/community of the platform dictates how it will be used
i personally think this scale is best used by individual critics when they have the platform for more long-form review
also, theres a variation of this scale introduced to me by videogamedunkey, that i like to call skewed 5 point scale. instead of using 3 as a neutral rating, it uses 2.5 as a neutral point, so 1-2 for negatives and 3-5 for positives, that removes a "nothing" rating and gives a bit more nuance to the part of the scale that is more used (see image below, ill talk more about that later)
Tumblr media
this is also my preferred rating scale
rating: ★★★★★
half star rating (p10)
the most common one in online platforms like rateyourmusic or letterboxd, it generally comes in the form of 0.5-5 while allowing half stars
its the one i have more experience using, and i think is the best in that enviromnent, it allows more precision than p5, and thus more expressive in a platform centered around short-form review and allows more meaningful statistics in the site
the only problem i see is that it has a bit too much precision in the context of critics that make longer-form reviews like Anthony Fantano from theneedledrop, that has a section of his public more interested in the rating then his videos, which is largely avoided by dunkey's scale for example. that isnt to say that its bad, it isnt, james from scharafillas uses a p10 without issue. its largely up to personal preference
rating: 9/10
100 point scale
the most common between major mainstream publications and critics, and also on albumoftheyear (which i personally have been a part of for a long time), so i dont think i'm biased when i say that this is fucking stupid
this is just too much precision in any meaningful sense, whats the difference between 27 and 28 or between 8.2 and 8.3, there isnt one, theres no amount of arguments you could say to me to make me understand why you think what you do in that level of precision.
i regularly watch Brad Taste In Music and he is a great critic, he makes pretty clear points while being entertainment and i always can guess roughly his rating based on what he points out, but never to that much precision, which i dont think adds to what he says at all
a few other ones
p6: its just a skewed p5 but with an added 0 so that it isnt actually skewed, which i find pretty unecessary since the distinction between a 0 and a 1 isnt very common or meaningful
p20: generally comes in the form of 0.5-10, but its just a bit worst version of a p10 in my opinion, but its still better than a p100
conclusion
i think theres pretty obviously 3 ratings that are best depending on the situation
p0 is great in most contexts, ratings are not necessary
p5 is amazing, especially the skewed one, if you have the time/platform to talk about the thing in more detail, as it pretty obviously isnt supposed to have much precision
p10 is probably just as good as p5 in that context, but its way better in online places as i described previously, so its not a surprise to me how common it is
so, this are the ones youll see me using, every other rating scale can stop existing from now on, fuck p100

Hey! I've been your follower since u wrote AT fanfics and because of your work, amongst other beautiful fanfics I've read over time, I've really wanted to try making my own.
I was just wondering what books have u read since u wrote Pray for the Preacher's daughter? Also do u have any book recommendation for newbies in creative writing?
English isn't my native language so sorry if it's a bit confusing to read
dang son that's a long time to be following me. like. a long time. wow hi nice to still have you here in spite of... fandom hopping and all that haha. thank you, i'm always so chuffed to hear someone likes my writing, literal day-maker tbh, god bless ♥
i uh... haven't read as much recently as i might like actually. i find it hard to get invested in new books and my living situation doesn't give me room to be storing books anyway. mostly i just reread a few of the ones i have pdfs of.
for book recs, i find those real hard to give out actually, mostly since people have different tastes you know? what do you like, mate? haha
still, for the simple fact of learning about writing styles i can recommend a few series/authors. this is not an exhaustive list, it's just some books i think have nice writing.
for the simple fact that the show is airing rn and i have it on the brain: if you can find a copy of robert jordan's wheel of time series (and you have the stomach for a monolithic 14 book series that gets real boring and slow in the middle ngl) you should definitely read it. world-building, characterisation, various cultures, all that is really good. his descriptive writing is out of this world and i guarantee you'll learn more new words in the first book than you might think. i know i did. just. really good jumping off point for third-person story-telling.
if you make it through those books and you're like, huh. what else? do yourself a favour and read literally any book by brandon sanderson. he finished the wheel of time books and like... you can't go wrong with any pick of his books. the mistborn trilogy will give you FEELINGS, but if you're after a stand-alone novel, i can not recommend warbreaker or the legion books enough. they're short, they're punchy, and his magic systems are always breathtaking.
kj taylor's fallen moon trilogy is quite good, excellent if you're looking for How To Write Convincing Villains. the author herself is a delight as well if that matters at all lmao. can't speak for the follow up trilogy bc i haven't read it but i'm sure it's just as good. (also she's aussie which always delights me, love a good aussie author)
also do yourself a favour and read the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy. douglas adams was a master wordsmith and the books are so much fun. it's one of the few hard copies i have here in england bc i just love it so so much. never fails to make me laugh.
if you're more into crime stuff, i do recommend karen slaughter. i've only read a few of her books (courtesy of my mum who's an avid fan) but the ones i did read were thrilling cover to cover.
i guess my best advice is to read widely? my typical fare is fantasy, i'm such a ho for a good fantasy book, idk if it's obvious in my fic writing but that's where my soul lives, it's what i first started writing (literally my very first original writing was some stupid knock off of the dragonlink series).
go grimdark gothic and pick up brent weeks' way of shadows books (incredible covers is why i picked them up and the story did not disappoint). traumatise yourself and read stephen king (i've read just a few of his but 'the outsider' was so gripping i legit stole it off my mum for two days to binge read it and she got mad at me). read some kristin cashore books (bitterblue is fabulous, just saying) and enjoy your tropey fantasy. i've got 'everything leads to you' by nina lacour and 'the abyss surrounds us' by emily skrutskie and like any of malinda lo's books and OMG 'the memoirs of lady trent' by marie brennan.
and uh. don't forget to keep reading fanfics haha. much of my writing style is grounded very firmly in the third person fantasy from whence i came, but my transition into present tense is fanfiction's fault entirely baby. and you pick up tropes - my foundation stones! - much better in fic because it distils them down nicely i feel. people who've been writing fic a while already have a feel for the tropes that make stories work so you might have to pay a bit more attention when you start out, don't worry about it, that'll come naturally with practice. which you gotta do.
also also, dictionaries and thesauruses are your friends. thesaurus.com is part of my dna now. go there. sign up. word of the day yourself. it's great stuff and even if you don't remember all of them, adding a few new words to your arsenal now and then can't hurt.
just practice. experiment with what you write and how you write it. not everything you type has to be published either. lord knows i don't post any of my personal work anywhere and half my fics never see the light of day either. write for you and have fun.
hope this helps somewhat. feel free to hmu if you wanna ask anything else lol i know i got a bit longwinded my bad ^^;

Oh wow, you two have been friends for a long time then! I know what's that like, I've known my best friend who lives in Spain since we were 8! Definitely awesome to have someone like that in your life. Are you still going to be roommates when the baby comes? And that was really thoughtful of your ex making sure you didn't travel alone.
Canada is really cold tho, so if you're okay with that you should def move there! Ah well, I'm doing better now so that's what matters, all the horrible worries I had when I lived back home are gone atm.
Yeah, that's the spirit! you can do all US states even if it takes you 43 years, that's plenty of time! hahaha And your welcome, it's one of my favourite fics.
Your mind is great, don't worry. At least something good came out of it haha.
Oh so people make her a pisces then, I see. I've met a pisces who was kinda like Dani once so that's why I said she has that kind of energy, but she def has fire on her chart too. And yeah I can see some virgo traits in her, but she's very sensitive and a bit naive so I guess pisces makes more sense.
I had to look up what a badger was hahaha never heard of them before.
I'm sorry you had to go through that. Sounds scary. And you still have to take medication bc of it. The threat of catching covid must've made that 10x worse too. And I can only hope to learn from my mistakes at the very least.
People who made thobm are fucking savages tbh hahaha. 😂 Kinda wish they had cast Oliver as Jamie like they originally intended but then we wouldn't have our damie... don't know what's worse honestly.
Oh Yorkshire accent is pretty cool too, isn't the lead singer of the Arctic Monkeys from Yorkshire? Honestly think all the language variations and different accents that come with each region are really fascinating. And that happens with all languages, not just English. Wish I could speak all languages in the world, that would be a cool superpower! I guess it makes sense you like American accents more bc it's so different from yours. I've become desensitized to North American accents just bc I hear them all the time, but I see how it would be more appealing to you.
Oooh I love that possibility of it becoming a real fic soon hahaha. Worst part of letting it cook is that I already have the finished illustration in my head but the transferring to reality part is not working rn. Wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy tbh.
You def had a busy weekend and start of the week! I have a virgo in my life rn too I know the struggle. Her birthday is this weekend in fact. I had an okay weekend thank you! Managed to catch up with that pirate AU you recommended and I'm already planning fanart for it that will probably never see the light of day haha! Are we going to have more smut this next MoU update? (need to know for scientific purposes 🔬)
Yeah we've been friends for years we met when we were 14 and are still friends now at 27 so it's been one of my longest friendships I have a friend that I met at 4 but we're not as close as we once were still really good friends but not best friends haha!! aww that's so cool that you guys have been friends for that long!! Yeah we're still gonna live together when the baby comes- we're looking for a bigger place right now to make room for the baby and her boyfriend (he still doesn't live with us yet but will soon.... *insert gif of Monica Gellar one friends saying "And now I have to live with a boy" while crying* Yeah my ex is a super thoughtful person and she just didn't want me travelling so far alone when I had never flown before because when I went to Paris with my college we drove there and went on the Eurostar and it took us 13 hours to get there but I had never flown before going to LA and I picked an 11 hour flight for my first one so she wanted someone to fly with me she's a very thoughtful person I LOVE the cold weather I am so sad right now because it's bene quite warm in the north of England I can't wait until it's like -3 degrees Celsius during the winter nights again so I am sure I would love Canada I am fine with it taking me 43 years if that's what it takes haha I just wanna hit all 50 states I think it would be so fun to do it and to be able to say I'd done it.  Haha thank you!! As long as something good comes out of it that's all I can hope for but there are times I've done things and people are like "And you're allowed to teach kids?" Like I can be really dumb sometimes haha.  Yeah I've seen a couple of fics where she has been a pisces I think with it never being said and with VP never saying what she thinks she is people have looked at her personality and matched it up to zodiac signs- a lot of the pisces I've met haven't been like Dani like I said but I do trust what people who know more about zodiac signs say because I know nothing and I just pick a random date each time so CBML she's a Leo and MoU she's a virgo and in SLS she's gonna be a Scorpio because that's just how I've done it haha but I really know nothing about zodiac signs other than what you have told me!! There different types of badgers there are honey badgers and they're more in America here we have a different type of badger and they look so cute but they are really vicious if they feel attacked or scared so try snd avoid badgers... more than that though we just have cows, geese, ducks, swans... lots of foxes but noting dangerous like bears or anything its a very boring place to live!! Yeah it is pretty scary but I just take everything one day at a time- I actually caught Covid last year because of how much time I was in the hospital having treatments for my condition I caught Covid and ended up in the hospital for a week while they had to give me loads of medication and blood transfusions and had to put me on a fluid drip because I was really dehydrated and that was really scary but luckily I was okay and now I am fully vaccinated so hopefully I won't catch it again. I think you will definitely learn from your mistakes I feel like some mistakes have to be made in life so you can grow from them Oh they were definitely savage but I love Bly Manor so much and I will watch it so many more times I can't wait for it to come out on DVD!! Like it was heart breaking but so beautiful and we got such an incredible wlw relationship from it and some great representation and I love that!! Would be interesting to see how it would've affected people had Oliver played Jamie though Yeah Alex Turner is from Sheffield which is South Yorkshire so again we have a similar accent but it's different because I am from further North but there are things that we say in a similar way because we’re from Yorkshire just different parts of Yorkshire... there are four Yorkshires: North, East, West, and South haha and all are in the north of England  Yeah I think that’s the case every where I think accents and languages are so interesting and I would love to be able to speak any other language but I only speak English in my school it wasn’t seen as being overly important to learn a language and I have tried learning them since leaving school but I struggle now  There are some American accents I love (Southern and Midwestern) so when I heard Dani speak I was like 😍🥵🥰 because I love that type of accent I have become desensitised to some American accents that are just standard ones from watching so many movies and TV shows but there are some accents that just make me do heart eyes haha  I am hoping it can become a real fic soon but I am struggling with some stuff but keeping hopeful with it!! Awwh no I’m sorry it’s so hard for you I hope it gets better soon that you’re able to get it onto a page!!  I have had such a busy weekend and part of the week had a bit of a busy day today too and looking after my niece again tomorrow not rest for me it would seem but it’s fine I don’t mind keeping busy!! Well happy birthday to her I hope she has a great day!!  Oh yay I’m glad had an okay weekend and that you were able to catch up on the pirate AU and that you already have fan art planned for it- even if no one ever sees that fanart!! No there is no smut in this chapter of MoU some implied smut but no actual smut- there will probably be smut in chapter 9 though because y’know... it’s me haha 😂

I loved Leah on the offbeat! I also read it some weeks ago and I'm just in love with Becky Albertallis writing style it's so fresh and easy to read and still holds a lot of emotions and humor 👏🏼 do you have other queer books to recommend? I don't care w/w m/m maybe trans stories?
What a fun ask to answer, anon. And YES I do have some recommendations
m/m
Tumblr media
The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater: features a gay and a bi boy and a very cute and slow-burning m/m relationship. The story itself is super nerdy and fun to read, incredible characters and we are a big and nice fandom!
More happy than not by Adam Silvera: does not only talk about sexuality in a very respectful way but also about suicide, shame, self hatred and homophobia. Very emotional and raw book
Will Grayson Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan: read this book a long time ago and can barely remember what's it about. I think I've been a little disappointed by the whole story and plot
Simon vs. The homosapiens agenda by Becky Albertalli: light hearted, happy, cute and funny book. I mean, we all know it by now don't we? If you've only seen the movie go and get the book!! It's incredible and was a big fun to read without knowing the plot. Features not only gay but also bi boys and girls!
The Gentlemen's Guide to vise and vitue by Mackenzi Lee: hands down one of my absolute favourites here. Such a fun and interesting book, with well built and round characters. Features a bi man, a gay man and an ace girl (she even has her own book dedicated to her)
I'll give you the sun by Jandy Nelson: also an incredible book. It's actually one of the few books I've read more than once. Very emotional, well written, unexpected and the timeline makes it even more amazing.
Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe by Alire Sáenz: AMAZING BOOK, i can't even put into words how much this book hit home. About two gay boys and their journey of coming to terms with not only life but also their sexualities. 12/10 would recommend.
Carry on by Rainbow Rowell: in case you like Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy dynamic, magic, fantasy and vampires this is one for you! What I liked especially is the fact that the gay relationship isn't the plot of the story. It definitely gets it's deserved attention but they also act as an established couple for almost half of the book.
w/w
Tumblr media
Leah on the offbeat by Becky Albertalli: sequel to Simon vs. The homosapiens agenda. Funny, easy to read book, featuring two bi girls and background same-sex couples.
You know me well by Nina LaCour and David Levithan: m/m and w/w. I just put it here because I found the girl part way more interesting. The story itself didn't really speak to me that much. I guess it's one of those books you can read on the train or when you're bored
All for the game by Nora Sakavic: gay, demi, bi and lesbian characters. All in all a very queer book. If you like sport-thrillers and dumbass kids who drink too much alcohol and smoke too many cigarettes and play a strange sport called exy: this is for you. Have fun (also we have a pretty lit fandom)
Traumtänzerin by Alicia Zett: a German book written by a German lesbian youtuber. Very cute and lovely story. It's actually her first book and i was impressed tbh. So, in case you're German, read this!
Trans
Tumblr media
Sohn ihes Vaters by Tahar Ben Jelloun: a book I had to read at school and value a lot. I still don't know how to lable the person. They've been born a girl but raised a boy because of circumstances. Later on they start to question their gender, living as a man doesn't work for them neither does living as a woman. It's actually heartbreaking, confusing and quite hard to read.
The art of being normal by Lisa Williamson: this book and the way of handling the topic of a trans girl and trans boy just doesn't sit right with me. I hate how carelessly the author treats the characters, how much transphobia she added to the story. How she never ever addresses the trans girl as a GIRL. Yeah, i wouldn't recommend this one (maybe some of you have other opinions, let me know)
Two boys kissing by David Levithan: obviously features gay/bi/non-straight boys and same-sex relationships. But my favourite story was the story of a trans boy and his boyfriend. I found all the characters endearing and somehow relatable. Nice book, raw and kind of legendary

Yesss my fav is tgcf too! mdzs is also good, they both have their own charms. I haven't read/watch svsss. I assume you read the novel too?
Rinharu!! I'm excited to watch the final free movie. I've been with this show since it start airing and to see it ending feel bittersweet.
Is run with the wind good? I dropped it when it was airing because I'm quite busy with college during that time. The past seasonal sports anime didn't really hit me, the characters are kinda boring. Sk8 is pretty good except for the ending
oh also I'll be tagging my ask with 🌻 from now if you don't mind
ahhhh yeah!!!! yes, i've read the novels for all of them! i think the only available adaptations of the novels i haven't really looked at are the manhuas.
svss is a lot of fun and heartily ridiculous, but it also has a clear first-novel feel to it so the plot is pretty shaky at points. the way it's written with the whole System thing pretty confusing for a few chapters too. still, i do enjoy it! gotta love mxtx. she does her chaos/tragedy/hilarity better than anyone.
meeeee too!!!! i started watching free sometime after s2 ended and pretty much loved it instantly. i really really hope they end it well🙏🏻 so important.
run with the wind is amazing!!!!! the characters, relationships, story, music, animation... all of it is incredible. i really cannot recommend it highly enough❤️
nsbfjsg the only sports anime i've kept up with is haikyuu!! i've looked at the plots for the others and i watched the first ep of bakuten but nothing's truly caught my interest. hm, agree. sk8 was fun, but the plot got weirdly gnarly like halfway through and they never really recovered tbh. i still am absolutely impatiently waiting for the song they used for the adam and langa beef in the last episode to drop on spotify though— it was so good😅

not a request but I just was wondering how difficult it is to take care of dogs? I don't have a specific breed in mind but I've constantly been thinking about getting one lately
this ended up long (no surprise lol) so here’s a cut. feel free to DM or message me if you got more questions! 🐶💞
I think it depends on the personality and needs of the individual dog, but overall, dogs def require a lot of TLC. They need socialization, toys, and can have some hefty vet bills if they get sick.
However! If you prepare yourself for the responsibility, and know what sort of breed/doggo you’re planning to get, things will run smoother.
Dogs need exercise, period, even a little bit. So taking them to doggy daycare, or a dog park, or just a walk around the block. Having a back yard  (even a little one) is preeeetty much necessary imo, so they can use the bathroom, run around and enjoy the outdoors. Some doggies aren’t fans of lounging around outside, but some really do love it and can get stir crazy.
That’s another thing, they’ll need toys, bones, and so on to keep themselves occupied or they’ll get boooored. and a bored doggy means getting into shit and chewing. When called baby Shay “Shaynado” for a reason, she was a terror before I started taking her to daycare and before she had other doggos like Caddy and Hannah to play with. Hazel is also a terror but she has her older siblings to play and amuse her, plus a milk carton. Idk why she likes them but whatever keeps her quiet for five minutes.
So they arent too diff from cats or small animals in that they have these basic needs. I also cannot stress enough, get a vet and do a yearly checkup, plus get those heartworm and flea guards. I KNOW its expensive AF but god you dont want to see a dog with a flea infestation or heartworm. It’s horrible.
OH! And big thing I noticed in new dog owners, they’re not familiar with dog behavior. Dogs are actually very expressive and you can start to pick up on their feelings if you know what to look for. Def read up on common gestures, behaviors, and behavioral problems. TBH a lot of dog anxiety and stress comes from boredom and loneliness, which can be solved with playtime and socialization.
I def recommend getting an older mutt from a shelter, and starting with a smaller dog. Older dogs (3+ years) are more patient and don’t have that “puppy” energy and mischief. I say a small dog because they’re easier to handle and care for; plus I don’t know if you have a house, apartment, a yard, etc. I really, really do not recommend puppies for a first time dog owner, regardless if you’e adopting or shopping. This is coming from someone whose done both and dealt with waaay too many puppies. Don’t do it.
I don’t know your preferences in doggo breeds, but mutts are great! They’re generally healthier and can have the best personalities traits of diff breeds. I love me a mutt. Here’s some “starter” breeds I recommend, they’re also common in mutts in shelters:
Havanese are incredibly sweet and dorky-ass dogs. They do tend to have grooming needs, like brushing their fur every day and getting a bath or a groom.
Bichon Frise are very friendly, energetic and just happy little bundles of floof. Their fur is not as demanding of grooming, especially if you keep it short. Also, they’re hypoallergenic!
People give Chihuahuas a lot of shit, but I actually adore them. With the right owner they aren’t yappy or aggressive, like a lot of people stereotype them as. A lot of well-trained Chis I’ve met are cool, more independent and curious.
I don’t always suggest terriers for a first time owner, but Yorkies really are friendly, bubbly and happy little guys. They can be quite clingy to their owners, so it’s good to help them get independence.
Pomeranians have a lot of grooming needs, but they’re often chill, happy to sit in your lap and friendly lil guys. Like a lot of smol dogs, it’s good to socialize them so they aren’t codependent on you.
Miniature Pinschers are not only REALLY freaking cute, they’re dorky and sweet as all heck, and have lots of energy. Damn I love these guys. Every one I’ve met has a great temperament.
On the more medium dog side, spaniels are really great companions and outdoor dogs. If you don’t mind a bigger and heftier dog, pit bulls and pit bull mixes are giant lovebugs that want a home. You’ll often see german shepherd, collie and boxer mixes of all sizes in shelters; just know those dogs have a much higher energy need.
Dachshunds are cute and iconic, but their little legs and long back can lead to health problems. Still, they have good temperaments and are often so sweet and chill. In my experience, doxie mixes often have that cool personality.
Pfft i forgot about Shih Tzus aldkekew they require quite a bit of brushing and grooming but they are so friendly and silly. Not the brightest dogs but they do their best!
Hopefully this was helpful and not meandering, lol. I’m not certified in any whatever way, I’ve just worked with dogs professionally for 5+ years and owned them since I was a wee lass.

XDD
and phew thats good! the least thing i'd want is make you uncomfortable in any way ;w;; 💞💞 gosh- even hanging out with friends is like russian roulette- XDD before covid and all i would always go to Larie's house every single weekend because my mom would always go there every weekend to play mahjong (its a little gambling game) and i would just be like "YEAH IM COMIN TOO-" - like OMG- literally friend's moms being friends with your mom is just the definition of LIFE GOALS- and it would be so fun every time i go there too- my mom would play with them till midnight or literally up to 3 am- so me and larie would just do the most wackiest stuff- along with eating loads of snacks and watching random shows or anime XDD ahh its only months ago since it stopped but it already feels nostalgic xD

mann for my school we had to choose between three music electives- band, orchestra, choir- i chose orchestra and it was AWESOME- until it was my last year and THE FUCKING ORCHESTRA TEACHER QU IT (it was reasonable actually- she had a sickness) and the cLASS JUST TURNED TO SHITITITHKAHTLQJF I HATED IT it came from my favorite class to the WORST in an InSTANT im SOBBING- but even the whole school is just utter bull- during that same year- i had six classes(a teacher for each) and guess what- THREE OF THOSE TEACHERS LEFT- LIKE EXCUSE YOU?? my 2020 was already RUINED before even COVID CAME like WTHHH- so yeah it was crazy- at that point we were all in despair and the school became more ghetto than it was before(everyone would keep saying "wErE In The GheTtO RATTATATAAA" every time we reach school grounds- its funny cause its true- XDD) yeah its crazzyy
and Oh YEHAH the mods are sickk- mods make my dont starve together gameplay so much better xDD and ooh i have seen portal before but i never actually played em- i think i was watching the walkthrough of both games just to try to learn what the game was about- but in the end- i forgot everything from what the heck our objectives of the game was other than to solve mind blowing puzzles- XDD but cAN i JUST SAY THE SONGS ABSOLUTELT BOPPED THO? THE ENDING SONGS STILL ALIVE AND WANT YOU GONE GOT ME LIKE in TEARS to how good they were- like i jammed to them for a long ass while xDDD and ohhh i never seen any portal mods before! i didnt even know portal mods were a thing but that sounds SICKKK

it’s been months bc i forgot i still had to finish this but i picked back up extinction key   &   a couple chapters later
" there's baba roga   . . .   and there is   [ natasha ]. “
nat telling a security guard that he’s around bruce   &   bruce is her friend,   so it is her business what he does   &   how he responds to things.
info dump #2   ( i think,   it’s been a couple months i can’t remember how many info dumps they’ve done so far   &   i’m not going back to check fight me on it )   is nat   &   tony which is just as boring as an info dump can get,   but the dialogue   &   handling of nat   &   tony in it is actually interesting for how they play off each other in a way that is actually very 616 for a change???
nat   &   tony stealth mission,   nat   &   tony stealth mission,   nat   &   tony stea   ——
perhaps something only like.   two people will care about,   but every chapter thus far from tony’s perspective has written his internal monologue using   “ tony, “   but there is a specific change in one chapter where it swaps him out to   “ ir.on m.an “   right near the end of the stealth mission planning which is interesting.
the fact that they’re casually discussing murdering a man is disconcerting,   however,   &   distinctly pulls away from aven.gers code,   but we can’t have it all i guess.
i can’t tell if stephen simply does not have a personality in this or if the fact that he’s only been used to info dump on us thus far is making him seem more bland than he is in reality,   but.   could they make him just a little less boring at some point,   any point at all.
the story is still lackluster   &   i still don’t care about what’s happening but much like endless wartime,   some of the character interaction is actually pretty decent so on we go.
also where’s clint,   where’s my funky archer man,   he’s still an aven.ger   &   marble needs to stop forgetting him.

~tea~ Pizza with chocolate... It's the weirdest thing I've ever heard of xd Today was kinda boring? I don't know, it's like I'm procrastinating and doing things at the same time. Still a nice day! It's finally 9°C and sunny so I'm wearing a shirt! jsksdkhkdj I hate dogs tbh (not in a harmful way of course, but I just find them annoying and not pleasant), and I'm crazy about (my two) cats :D And I also love kangaroos, though I'm not sure I've ever seen one in real life. How's you day going?
Anonymous said? ~tea~ (stupid letters limit!) Recommend you to watch “lionwhisperersa” on YouTube, if you haven’t heard about him. This man is amazing, he speaks up about their plight in the wild and how we can contribute to saving them. His interactions with them are absolutely incredible!! And he also works with hyenas too!
it is weird but also pretty common here fjdskfjds;fdsj I think sundays are always boring sduhfdos;hds I procrastinated all I had to do till 11pm lol I’m glad it’s getting warmer there for you!! annoying??? dogs are the best thing in the world AAAAAAAAAAA can’t believe it. I wish I had a cat but my mom won’t let me. my day was fine since I did nothing and only watched football and youtube hahahahah I’ll check them out later bc I’m in class rn hyenas are a funny animal hfdsjhufdghdf
