#self #fantasy costume #If I had the money for a custom tailored fantasy-ish victorian-ish suit instead of piecing together random thrift store items with like walm #rt halloween costume type jackets and stuff..#unstoppable.....#I would actually lean more straight up historical with my wardrobe it's just that everything I own basically is thrifted aside from a very #small portion of things (like usually socks for example I get from ebay. wigs from ebay. things that it's hard to find in thrift stores. etc #) and I rarely ever find stuff like that at the bins. Your closest bet is like. hopeing that the week you come in just so happens to also be #a week that a church costume department recently donated a bunch of old stuff. but I just haven't really had much luck finding like fancy ve #sts and suit coats and cloaks or like tunics and etc. etc.#Styles like mori kei or cult party kei are pretty accessible and easy for places like the bins (where youre usually digging through piles of #curtains and fabric scraps and doilies anyway). but finding like.. a straight up tudor england costume or something is . VERY rare #Sometimes you do find halloween costumes. Or like. stuff that's clearly like cheap 'Goth' stuff from shein or aliexpress that someone has do #nated and they can be a LITTLE okay in terms of usable for costumes. But you rarely find actual good quality stuff. obviously because like #real very good quality historical costumes are expensive and most people aren't just like 'yeah dump it off to goodwill' lol #In an ideal world though I would have fancy top hats and neck ruffles and stuff .. know this ghhjbhj #Lack of that will not stop me from taking picturesin basically the same outfit 6000 times though. My one single silky black vest and #one of the two solitary ruffly neck shirts I have every been able to find.#Pointy-ish little boots that I put with everything even thogugh they look terrible up close because they're literally like over 10 yrs old #I bought them so long ago and the black fake leather lining is like peeling off of the outside #ANYWAY #he's back again... the same little generic like elf vampire ruffle shirt with vest look.. might as well be the same guy #I support him and his dumbass disintegrating shoes anyway

Randomly remembered all those times someone on a forum or wherever would ask, like, "if your comic was ever turned into a movie or a tv-show, what would you want it to be like", and I was always spewing something about obvious answers like Fortiche or whatever

BUT ACTUALLY. That's wrong.

The correct answer is that I would want it to be filmed as one of those film-student-project fan movies. Where no one has any money and their camera isn't stabilized and the 'sets' are all local buildings but everyone is very committed to making it work with what they have. And all the actors are friends or classmates or someone's parents and therefore look especially real and human.

#wanna see some film student whose drive hasn't yet been muted by the industry choreograph some insane fighting #if it looks campy and the blood is obviously fake but the energy is kept 100% then nothing can be better #and I'm not talking polished cosplay music videos with wigs and perfect outfit replicas no-no #get the essence of the characters and if they don't look like they do on pages then that's GOOD #get an actual butch femme couple in their thirties for Jo and Leah #whom you met at a local queer bar and they were down to help you with the film #get the scrawniest most chaotic girl for Lyoka and who cares if her eyebrows are bushy don't fucking pluck or draw them #'cause she as a character sure doesn't (just lacks in that area) and that's her human characteristic #which is more important than the consistency with the picture #get a black girl with glasses to play Nia and just let her straight up keep her own glasses instead of looking for a round frame #Life is Strange's fan films What If and Dawn are honestly my main examples of what I generally mean #pof posting

#I had crazy cool dreams though #They were in black and white and involved #A young straight couple sex role-playing as elderly lesbian nuns #But it unfolded like a Britcom it wasn't sexy like there were Hijinks and an Assistant Sidekick #There was a picnic in the ceiling that had to be retrieved with a rowing oar and a roast chicken fell on someone's head #Dislodging their wig #Etc etc etc #Real panto hours in my subconscious for some reason. Like if Jenna and Paul from 30 Rock were #Thrust into the televised universe of Hyacinth Bucket #Combined with a more slapstick version of Call the Midwife

went to a halloween party last night dressed as aemond targaryen and i received MANY compliments on my beanie baby dragon as well as a bunch of comments like “FUCK the blacks, am i right?” “aren’t you that guy who killed his nephew?” “hey look it’s mommy’s little war criminal” and “you must have balls to go dressed as that guy after THAT episode” so i’m considering it a resounding success

#turns out the ideal time dress as someone is the week after they became famous for committing an atrocity #i did walk into a door and also a chair because i could only see out of one eye #but you know sacrifices must be made for halloween i think it was worth it #even if it turns out it's really hard to do the cotton eye joe when you can't see anything on your left #10/10 excellent experience no notes #pie says stuff #my life #pie goes to college #hotd #house of the dragon #aemond targaryen #also there were several people at the party who straight up did not recognize me until i took my wig off at the end of the night #overall pleased that i got to used my excellent black jacket fake sword and stuffed dragon for a good cause

...like. i probably Am Capable Of pulling a neo twewy shoka cosplay together in three days before the con But. do i actually wanna invest that effort and money??

#mrrrrr #i do not want to make the dress or try to locate a close enough match #and i don't want to buy a wig #(or give myself bangs and pretend wavy brown is close enough to straight black under a hood)#so that Probably tilts the scales to no #but also... red lipstick and fun facial expressions and oversized kitty hoodie.........#also i am kinda frustrated that it's been over a year since i've done a new cosplay #or even significantly updated an existing #i would make sucha cute shoka!!!!#i'd definitely have to figure out eyeshadow tho #anyway cosplay lineup for kumo is looking like sypha hawks minamimoto #minamimoto pants do somehow still fit #gonna try to fix sypha sandals but honestly i think i'm just gonna shove sabito flipflops into bag as backup no matter what #i am Still! gonna finish sabito! properly!!!!#but that will involve four rounds of block printing and drying and therefore is probably straight up physically impossible #even if i could muster the energy which is perpetually In Doubt #and also i am deeply unsatisfied with that wig and definitely do not have time to order wefts so #anyway. i do not think shoka is going to happen this week But i will play neo twewy and contemplate tonight #i had initially been considering reworking minamimoto for neo twewy version but lmao no #fuckin snakeskin textured coat no way am i bothering to find that #i don't actually have a wig for him so it'd basically be an entire new cosplay #ugh like i wouldn't shave my legs for shoka but i have v appropriate lacy leggings and they would be So!!
