Fun BSD French translation details and choices - Episode 17 (by someone who does not understand Japanese but thinks the differences with the English translation/subtitles are fun)

General notes:

Kouyou's ability is called "Or démoniaque" (Demonic Gold).

Kouyou called Mori "Monsieur Ougai". I know she calls him "Ougai-dono" in the Japanese dub, but to call someone "Mr [first name]" in French has the connotation of them being a preschool teacher or something sdkjfhskdjf

Lovecraft'S voice actor is so funny. He has the voice you would expect to hear on some kind of large, benevolent, homely creature. Maybe a cuddly bear. He sounds less menacing and more like he ended up in the wrong role, but it still fits his "why am I here I just want to sleep" vibe.

Steinbeck and Lovecraft's abilities are just literal translations of their English counterparts. "Les Raisins de la colère" (The Grapes of Wrath/Anger) and "Le Grand Ancien" (The Great Old One/Ancient).

Chuuya called Kouyou "Madame Kouyou" in front of Mori, in an uncharacteristic show of politeness. French dub Chuuya is just some guy to whom wild stuff happens.

Something I just noticed is that in the French subs, Mori calls Elise "Éris". Understandable, but oops.

Atsushi uses the informal "you" (tu) with Kouyou.

Book Recs Wanted!

I have recently noticed that I'm drawn to the sub-genre of fantasy books that involve a person, or group of people, who secretly discover a huge magical secret that they do not fully understand and will never fully understand. So yes, fantasy books, but mostly 'other world' books and whatever the opposite of books with 'a good magic system' are. I know some people are into that, but I always avoid books where the magic makes sense, I like it to be confusing and oblique and mysterious. Ditto books with a grizzled anti-hero protagonist, not interested.

Examples of this I've enjoyed include:

The Magician's Nephew by CS Lewis - where Uncle Andrew has learned a few shreds of information from an elderly relative about magic. He then experiments and plots for years and finds the doorway to the wood between the worlds without having any real knowledge of what he has found or what to do with his discovery and gains no benefit from it.

Piranesi by Susanna Clarke - (spoiler), where a group of academics and hangers-on under the thrall of an outsider anthropologist find the way into a world hinted at in pre-historic texts. I love how the implications of this discovery are so huge, but those that can visit this world are incapable of fully exploring or sharing their discovery because of their competitive and sadistic natures. Even further worlds are hinted at but nobody visits them.

[Limited bits of] The Magicians by Lev Grossman - I haven't been able to re-read these books since they came out because I find many of the characters so unbearable, however, those sections where the students who fail to get into the college try to piece together magic on their own, or where the Chatwin children find their way into Fillory, or particularly where Quentin attempts to create his own world at the very end, are very compelling.

[Bits of] Fairy Tale by Stephen King - I found the fantasy world itself fairly irritating, but the way into it was great, and the discussion of how the fantasy world would likely be exploited if the knowledge was spread further was something I hadn't seen before.

Little, Big by John Crowley - I love how the existence of Faerie is taken as a matter of fact by the Drinkwater family, but there's no rhyme or reason to how it 'works'. It's unclear what exactly is going on half the time and all is enjoyably dream-like.

I also intent to give the Gormenghast books and Mordew a go soon, as they seem up my alley, and I think I've read all the Lovecraft stuff in this vein. I always liked the Lovecraftian bits of the Discworld book Moving Pictures too, which was my favourite as a kid- I like when the magical discovery gets too real and everyone just runs away, realising it's better left alone.

Does anyone else enjoy these tropes and have a book or two to recommend?

Self-Aware! BSD. World Building. Gacha and how it affects others

Warning: English is my second language. Slight spoilers for BSD Manga, LN and Anime. Firs part is an explanation about BSD Mayoi Game, in case, you haven't played it.

First, some basic facts about BSD Mayoi Inu Kaikitan game.

It's a gacha game. When you have enough Ability Stones (gacha currency) or Scout ticket(s) (from 1 to 10 free pulls), you do the Scout. Ether basic Rare Scout or Limited Scout.

Then you create a team with three cards (+1 guest card) and use marble to clean up orbs. The more orbs you collect, the more damage characters can do.

Cards, that you choose, will be shown as Chibi Sprites of characters, that will attack characters in order.

There are five types of cards in the game, four of them you can get in a scout.

R cards - simple sprite of a character

SR cards - a little more colourful character images. Can illustrate some moments from the anime (Dazai on Shrooms; Mori's Glare, that scared Lucy; Atsushi with newspapers, when he poses as newspaper boy etc)

SSR Cards (+ EX cards) - most colourful cards, with two sub skills and with animation, when you use active skill. Can either show moments from anime (Ranpo, when he was stuck in Poe's novel; Hirotsu in art museum; Chuuya and Dazai vs Lovecraft etc), Show Character's abilities (Matchless Poet, No Longer human....). Or show characters in different outfits and School AU (Student Fyodor in winter clothes, Dazai in yukata, Oda on a surfing board and so on).

EX cards are SSR cards, with two active skills. One will put Character in a special state. Second skill will either do damage, power up the attack... Example of EX card - Dragon Head Conflict Chuuya, where first skill put him in Corruption state, and second will do damage to enemies.

UR cards are former SSR cards, that can be Awakened after meeting certain conditions. Buffs cards.

With that out of the way.

How gacha affects BSD Characters

______

1. Let's start with alive characters, who are already had in-game cards and who still don't have cards.

People, who aren't affected by the Scout. Almost. They will feel a wave of power, when you get their cards for the first time and will get new outfits from cards, where they wear something different.

But, Dazai/Atsushi/Chuuya/Kyuusaku/Teruko/Gogol/Others still could use their abilities, even if you don't have their cards.

But, some of this character can affect themselves with the scout.

After characters get access to Game Files, they start messing with the Scout (Fukuzawa rises chance of getting his cards, Dazai hacked Chuuya's Birthday Scout, so you get everyone's cards, except Chuuya's). Soon, they start adding their own cards. They either gift it to you by Gift Box (Dazai and Oda playing poker from Dazai's Entry, Chuuya, gifting you his cards after Dazai's hack), or in Scouts (mentioned in My Favourite (Teruko's edition) and I am aware, that you are aware).

Still, some of the characters don't have an Ability Card, that explains their powers (Fitzgerald, Fyodor, Alkott, Ango, Tachihara and some more don't have such cards). And, of course, Season 3+ characters don't have any cards.

So, they can alter their abilities a little by adding an Ability Explanation card.

They can't alter their ability too much. Example: Gogol can't add "My overcoat can transform into wings" to "The Overcoat". But, he can make the distance that he can interact bigger, then in cannon. And Aya can't add an ability to herself.

2. So, about deceased characters.

There are cards of deceased characters in Bungou Stray Dogs Mayoi Inu Kaikitan game. There are Shibusawa's cards, Oda's cards and Gide's cards. The game won't take away Oda's and Gide's cards after you finish the Dark Era levels.

And their chibi sprites will be on the battle screen, attacking enemies. Like they are alive.

But, there is one catch. Dead Characters will be brought back to life only after you get SSR card from the scout. Doesn't matter, which one. It can be both limited and standard SSR.

Power of revival was discovered on the incident.

In this AU, it started with Oda. When you got his SSR card, Oda was brought back to life.

At first, everyone thought, that it was a miracle, and it can't happen again. But then you got Shibusawa's SSR and Gide's SSR. And both Shibusawa and Gide were brought back to life.

BSD Cast finally saw the pattern here. They wonder if they can do something with it.

It was a leap of faith. They decide to add the third season to the game. And new Scouts.

Because they started to mess with Scouts earlier, by adding new cards, they had some experience.

So, they finished with Fifteen Arc. And add Rimbaud's card. They used some official art and their own art skills. And add new 'card' in the scout.

They weren't sure, if they will succeed.

But, the moment you get Rimbaud SSR card, he was brought back to life. Well and unharmed.

When BSD Cast were adding STORM BRINGER to the game, they create SSR cards for the Flags. And that's why Flags are also alive.

Gide by himself created SSR cards of Oda's orphans.

Note! Karma was spared by Fyodor and his card was added as a normal SSR card.

So, to conclude, by adding new cards in game and pulling them, BSD Characters will bring deceaced characters back to life

There not fish men (Zosan X reader) P3

Plot: During a freak storm the sunny gets battered sending Nami, Robin, Reader and Chopper over the edge and into the water. Deep sea creatures save them but the rest of the straw hats think their crew mates are going taken.

The creature is based off Lovecraft stories and thank you to @being-worthy for the suggestion <3. Im also going to be adding Jinbe in but im sorry if i get him wrong. Sanji X Zoro X Reader, poly relationship, established relationship, Reader is GN. Reader is the photographer of the crew always carrying around a camera they made (Polaroid) that doesn't include a snail. (Yes the same camera form the Werewolf series)

The Shark Submerge lll skimmed along the bottom of the sea, its bright lights searching for any sign of the fish men or missing crew mates. Franky drove the sub while Luffy sat next to his looking out the main window of the sub. Jinbe stood behind them observing the sea floor looking for any hint or unusual disturbances. Zoro and Sanji were on either side of the ship looking through the port holes, "There's light" Sanji calls out squinting his eyes to look into the distance, there seemed to be light coming form a large crack in the floor, Zoro joins the cook looking out the window as Franky turns the ship heading in the direction of the light. It was too white to be any kind of underwater Lava or Volcano and as the sub got closer they realized how big the crack was, wide and very long. The sub tilted down over the edge to ravel a large bright city, creatures swimming around, massive building, streets and statues. "Wow" Luffy smiles wide before turning to Jinbe seeing the mans confused face "No one is allowed to build at out here" The fish man states trying to get a better look at the creatures swimming bellow. The ship slams into something shaking slightly as electricity sparks around the ship, giving everyone a small electric shock and turning all the power off to the sub. Floating there Franky try's turning it back on and restarting the sub "What happened?" Zoro leans down to ask "The city's got some kind of electric field around it" Franky groans standing up and heading to the back of the sub to manually fix the ship. "Like an invisible force field?" Luffy jumps up, stars in his eyes and a wide smile on his face. Jinbe's laugh rings out through the ship at seeing his captain so excited over the thought but the laughter is cut short by another thud shaking the sub.

The fish men form bellow start swimming up weapons in their hands. One fires something similar to a gun at the sub an electric charge shoots the ship making everything inside start to flicker on and off and Franky to pull back form the wires yelling in pain at the shock he was delivered. "I guess their not friendly" Zoro growls heading to back of the ship Sanji following grabbing some flutter kick coating, so they can move and breath underwater. "Lets take these guys out and get our crew back." Luffy smiles running to join the two but is stopped by Jinbe "Captain, I think its best you stay here. The bubble will protect you but you'll have trouble fighting in it." The fish man was right and Luffy new it but shakes his head "I'll be fine." The captain runs off to join his swordsman and cook putting on the coating and dropping down and out of the ship. Jinbe sighs but doesn't argue offering instead to help Franky fix the ship since he's having trouble.

Dropping into the water protected by large bubbles the three notice that the fish people are more like frog people but it doesn't matter to them as they push forward and attack. Zoro rushes up to the one who's shooting the ship getting his sword out and poking it through the bubble, which closes around his arm and slashing at the frog. It manages to dodge being very quick underwater but the end of its gun gets cut off, throwing the gun aside the Frog kicks at the bubbled only for Zoro to grab its leg and throw it into another Frog coming his way. Sanji rushes over kicking a few Frogs away that are trying to hit the ship, The bubble staying firm around his legs. Luffy throws a punch his arm going through the bubble which closes around his arm to punch a frog. Even though the punch landed it didn't do much but cause a bit of pain, the sea water affecting him. Pulling his hand back Luffy opts to run at it and punch his hand not going through the bubble this time and force the frog down and into the city where it hits the ground hard.

More frog people start swimming up as the lights of the Sub come back on. Jinbe joins them outside swimming up to Luffy, Sanji and Zoro who stand in front of the sub protecting it. The frog people swim up but stop a little away form them, weapons in hand as they look over the group not seeming to want to fight the pirates. One steps forward a little Sanji lifting his leg up to kick and Zoro moving his swords as the Frog croaks and clicks. Jinbe puts his arm out to stop his crew from attacking "Jinbe?" Luffy asks standing down trusting his Crew mate knows something he doesn't " Their language is old, i can't fully understand it, but they don't want to hurt us. Just stop us from going into the city" He states, Sanji and Zoro standing down but staying on guard. "Where's my crew?" Luffy yells only for the Frog people to tilt their heads in confusion but the leader starts making hand signals "What?" Zoro raises an eyebrow as Luffy tilts his head in confusion "Its sign language... They want to know why where here" Jinbe turns to his Captain "I can translate for you" Luffy nods with a small smile looking back at the frog people "Can you ask them where Nami, Robin, Y/N and Chopper are?" With a nod Jinbe starts to sign the Frogs croaking and clicking before the leader quiets them and signs back "Their safe, we saved them. Their helping us find a way to defeat the creature that attacked your ship" Sanji glares crossing his arms over his chest "I saw them grab Y/n and Chopper by the neck how is that saving them?" Zoro nods agreeing with the cook "They could be lying" Luffy looked to his two crew mates before looking back at the Frogs with a large smile "These guys seem ok... Take us to my crew and we can help too"

Jinbe laughs a little before signing, The frogs seem to click and croak with excitement the leader seeming to tell other to swim off before pointing at the sub and signing. "He's telling us to get back in the sub, and they'll take us through the city and too our friends" Jinbe translates Luffy nodding and heading back to the sub the others following. Heading in Jinbe drys off while Luffy, Sanji and Zoro get the bubble off them. "I didn't hear much, are the others ok?" Franky asks sitting in the driver seat as Luffy sits next to him "They seem ok. We're going to help them with that sea king but first their taking us to the others" The captain leans back. "I'm still not sure about this." Zoro groans leaning against the side of the ship, Sanji walking over and joining him. "I have a feeling we can trust them." Jinbe sits down as the sub starts moving following some Frog people who guide them through the city. "What are they? There not fish people" Sanji asks lighting a cigarette and puffing it out "No there not, i honestly don't know what they are but i'm guessing the Protection deal the old kings made was for these Frog like people. Their language if very old, one that isn't taught as much anymore." Luffy shrugs in his seat looking at the city passing by "It doesn't matter who or what they are, they saved our friends and need help" The captain smiles laughing a little as his crew mates sigh.

After recovering form the gross information you were just handed more frog people come in and start loudly croaking, sending the others running off. "What's going on?" Chopper yells out one of the Frog people staying with you four as the others run out, Robin signs to the Frog who signs back its face looking a little panicked "He said a strange Sub has tried to get into the city, shaped like a shark." You all smile and Nami hugs Chopper with glee knowing it's your crew. Robin signs back to the fog whose eyes seem to widen, if thats even possible, before running off to tell the other Frogs before they leave. "Yay, I knew they'ed come for us" Nami laughs spinning around with Chopper in her arms making you and Robin laugh "I just hope they don't cause too much trouble" Robin turns to you only for your hand to be placed on her shoulder "Our boys always cause trouble" you state the black haired woman agreeing with you. Nami finally sets Chopper down "I know they saved us and all but i just want to get out of here and into some proper clothes" she sighs looking down at the sheet wrapped around her body. You and Robin nod in agreement "I just want this sticky stuff out of my throat" Chopper sighs rubbing at his neck making Nami gag a little "Please don't mention it, it makes me sick" covering her mouth the Navigator turns away trying to compose herself.

The large doors open, the four of you turning to see the frog people back and the Shark sub on the floor. The crew inside step out, Franky, Luffy, Sanji and Zoro run over to you all as you four run at them. Nami and Chopper jump into Luffy's arms his laughter ringing out as he hugs the two. Franky lifts Robin up and holds her tight crying as he apologizes over and over again. You run into Sanji and Zoro's arms them both holding you close your face in between theirs kissing their shoulders as Sanji runs his hand through your hair and holds you around the waist. Zoro shoves his head into your neck one hand around your waist and the other around Sanji keeping you all close together. "Im so glad your ok" Sanji smiles pulling away to look at you "Did they hurt you?" Zoro asks moving your hair out of your face seeing a small cut "No they didn't. i got hit by the mast on the ship. They patched me up, even got rid of the rope burn" you smile showing them your hands. Sanji takes the cigarette out of his mouth and put sit out before taking your hands and kisses your palms while Zoro places his lips on yours. The kiss was rough but you liked it only pulling away when he tried to shove his tongue into your mouth "Babe?" he asks confused as to why you stopped him "I'll explain later but... you don't want to do that" you smile reassuring it that its not his fault. Sanji pulls away form your hands to kiss your cheek "What's wrong?" he asks making you look at him.

Nami sighs pulling away form her captain "We really don't want to talk about it" she cringes a little Chopper crying on Luffy's shoulder as Robin giggle. Sanji gulps looking at Nami then Robin and finally down at you, his eyes wondering over your body "A-Are you all wearing s-sheets?" he asks eyes widening as you nod and cheeks go red. Sanji falls to the floor nose bleeding as Chopper jumps off Luffy and runs over to him "Not again" The doctor yells helping Sanji sit up. Zoro can't help but laugh pulling you closer as you both watch your boyfriend try and recover, you playfully slap the swordsman's chest making him look down at you. Franky blushes letting Robin down and rubbing the back of his head while Luffy just laughs at his crew mate. Jinbe and the frog men walk over them clicking and croaking while signing "Oh yes, he's fine" Robin replies with a smile and signing back, the frogs nod before signing to her again. Sanji gets back up tissues in his nose as you hold his arm "You good now?" you ask with a smile as he blushes looking you over. "Captain, I'v figures out a way we can help these people with the creature." she states hoping the captain is on board to help "Oh you mean the sea king, yea we can help" Luffy nods but the Frogs look at him weird shaking their heads "It's not a sea king... its like a deity to them but it brings death and distraction every few decades. They've been trying to stop it or appease it but nothing has worked" she explains knowing full well that Luffy doesn't pay too much attention to her words.

Jinbe clears his throat getting the black haired woman's attention "How do we stop it?" he asks hoping she has answers "Well it comes form a crack in the ground, i'm thinking if we can trap it there then it will be much easier for us to deal with. It can manipulate the weather so if we keep it underwater we'll have a better chance at stopping it" her plan was simple but it will take a lot of muscle and fast work to pull off. "Ok lets take this thing out" Luffy nods wanting to fight the creature again. Robin explains her plan in more detail signing so the Frogs can understand. Franky, Robin and the frog people will work together to build over the crack stopping the creature form getting out. Luffy, Zoro and Jinbe will distract the creature as they do so. Chopper and Nami will stay in the sub to deal with any injuries that might happen while you, Sanji and more Frog people go further down to set up a trap bellow the creature. With everyone in agreement some of the Frogs left to get equipment with Franky, some coming back bringing your stuff. Nami got her staff back and Chopper his little med pack and hat but nothing else "Urm where are our cloths?" Nami glares Robin translating for her, the fog looked sheepish as it replies making Robin blush a little and turn away "What? What did he say?" Sanji asks not liking the look on the woman's face. "he said... they didn't know how our clothes worked so most of them got... ripped up"

Chopper put his hat back on and put his bag over his shoulders feeling a little embarrassed while you and Nami went bright red, Nami out of pure anger while you out of pure embarrassment. Hiding your face in Zoro's chest Sanji joined Nami in yelling at the Frog, Nami stating that they would pay for new clothes as a sorry and Sanji mad that they saw the girls and his lover naked. Zoro sighs patting your head and holding you close, he was mad too, but he knew Sanji could take care of it, meanwhile you needed someone to hold. "Hay baby... it's ok iv got you" he whispers down to you. There are so many questions he wants to ask, but he holds it back for now feeling you shake slightly against him. "This day just keeps getting worse" you whisper back, feeling embarrassed, grossed out and exposed "I know but were here now. Once this is over we'll go back to the sunny and have a nice bath together" Sanji's voice sounds behind you his arms going around you and behind Zoro keeping you in between the two of them "I think you scared it" Zoro laughs a little looking over at the timid Frog Nami is still yelling at but now Robin is trying to hold her back. "You'r beautiful, no matter how you feel" The cook smiles pulling away to take his jacket off and put it around your shoulders. You pull away putting his jacket on feeling a bit better now as you button it up. "Thank you... Both of you" you smile up at them as Sanji moves your face to meet his, placing his lips gently on yours as Zoro's hand goes around your waist the other hand going around Sanji's.

"Baby.. i need to know" You pull away form Sanji to look at the swordsman a worried expression on his face "What did they do to you?" he asks not really knowing if he wants an answer form you. Sanji rubs your side prompting you to talk "Nothing like that don't worry. They fixed up my injures and are really nice, even with the language barrier... but when i woke up.. It was so cold and i was alone, no cloths, feeling weird" you sigh placing a hand around your neck, Sanji's hand moves to meet yours pulling your hand away, so he can place his hand on your neck. "I dove in after you, it had you and Chopper by the neck" Sanji sighs lightly running his hand over your throat feeling for any kind of mark. "I don't fully know how it works but, they made it so i could breathe underwater. i still can but i don't like the feeling, its.... sticky" you look away form them not really wanting to tell them how it got there. "It doesn't feel sticky" the cook states continuing to rub your neck only for Zoro to sigh "Cook, really? they mean... inside" his comment makes Sanji's eyes widen looking you over "How?" his teeth grit together as you turn to look at him taking his hand off your throat "I don't want to talk about it" Zoro looks away holding his mouth Sanji putting two and two together. Their frogs, you didn't let Zoro tongue kiss you, your throat is sticky. "WHAT THE FUCK" Sanji yells catching everyone's attention, even stopping Nami form yelling at the frog. Taking your face in his hand the cook leans in, his face full of anger, sadness and sickness "Which one did it?" he asks only for you to shrug "Which one of you dirty Frogs shoved their tongues down my Y/N's throat"

Audio Drama Sunday, 12/4/22

Yesterday was a long, big, busy Sunday, filled with some amazing audio dramas that I must share with all of you.

Dead Air, by Realm Media (created by Gwenda Bond) - If you like the true crime genre of podcasts, then a fictional version might just be up your alley. It's suspenseful, emotional, and filled with dark, dry humor. I've been devouring it recently, stopping just short of binging the entire thing in a single setting. I'm not a true crime fan, but I'm still hooked. If you liked Arden, I think you'll like this show.

Greater Boston, by Alexander Danner and Jeff Van Dreason - Humor, surrealism, quiet drama are all at the heart of Greater Boston. I know it's been around for a while and has a huge fandom but I'm excited that I get to experience this show for the first time six years after it started. Once I finish, I have a feeling I'll start the series over again without missing a beat.

A Ninth World Journal, by David S. Dear - The ultimate actual play turned audio drama, A Ninth World Journal episodes might be short but they are packed to the gills with content and keep you guessing as to what is going to happen next. David S. Dear is a fantastic narrator I've heard on several other shows at this point and it's wonderful to see him shine as the star.

Exoplanetary, by C. Christopher Heart - Managing to weave half a dozen sci-fi stories together in a nonlinear fashion without getting things too confusing is no easy task, but Exoplanetary as not only done just that, but thrived at it and keeps me coming back for new stories and new angles. It's filled with heart and emotion that stay with you long after the episodes is finished. From robotic love to colonialism to time travel, this show has it all.

Among the Stars and Bones, by Ungodly Hour Productions - Technically this will be my third listen but each time I get something more out of it, I feel more for the characters and understand their motivations. Telling a story from 8 or 9 limited viewpoints is a great way to employ the unreliable narrator, or as it happens, 8 or 9 unreliable narrators. I've seen recently that they are casting for season 2 and I cannot contain my excitement!

Old Gods of Appalachia, by DeepNerd Media - Folk horror, when done right, is better than any subgenre of any genre of literature, bar none. I will live and die on this hill. Old Gods does folk horror the right way. There's mood and atmosphere, a sense of place and a sense of dread. The show will have you jumping at shadows and creepy noises down by the creek at the witching hour.

The Town Whispers, by Cole Weavers - While similar to Old Gods of Appalachia, The Town Whispers takes cosmic horror and turns it up to 11 alongside all the folk horror that creeps around the edges of the Fort. The story telling is sharp and a sense of doom and dread purvey every word Mr. Weavers speaks. It's beautiful and chilling and leaves me needing more.

Malevolent, by Harlan Guthrie - It's a simple premise, guy wakes up unable to see with a creepy voice in his head that is not his own. Oh also there's a dead body, also there are monsters running around, oh also lots of creepy books, oh also it's set in the heart of Lovecraft Country. What could go wrong? I'm late to the party on the fandom for this show but as I work through the episodes I see why the fandom has exploded Hannibal style all over Tumblr.

Hi Nay, by Motzi Dapul - What if the Magnus Archives were less focused on Eurocentric monsters and fears and entities? What if there was a less organized group of people going after them? What if all of it was recorded lo-fi and given a health dose of Filipino folklore? Well, you'd have Hi Nay and you'd sweep the internets with a new, obsession worthy podcast that teaches as much as it entertains. Also they are working on getting 1000 subs on Youtube so get on that people!

The Kingmaker Histories, by Meg Molloy Tuten - Made by the same geniuses that brought us Less is Morgue, this audio drama gives us a glimpse at a steampunk world filled with magic. I enjoyed the first episode immensely. The acting, the script, the sound design are all top notch. Have to say I love this Ariadne character, she seems nice.

Moonbase Theta, Out, by D.J. Sylvis - Dystopian futures, corrupt governments, sinister warnings about the moon. Sounds like a typical day in 2022, right? Moonbase Theta, Out was and is ahead of its time in terms of storytelling, narratives, and characters. It's really a who's who in the world of audio drama with "famous" voices popping in and out to voice characters that will make you do the Leo pointing meme at least twice and episode.

WOE.BEGONE, by Dylan Griggs - Part surrealist sci-fi, part existential horror, WOE.BEGONE is a show that makes me want to run away screaming whilst at the same time binging more and more episodes. How deep does this creepy, deadly game go? What is the point of it all? Will Mike just be able to relax and have a nice time? I need to know!!!

And 195, by Guendalina Cilli - I just found out about this audio drama yesterday and I'm already a fan. I'm a runner with a bad sense of direction myself so the basis of the show is very, very familiar to me (aside from getting lost in other dimensions, that's not familiar but you never know in these days).

We Fix Space Junk, by Battle Bird Productions - Dystopian space dramas are a trope for a reason, but We Fix Space Junk manages to avoid the pitfalls and enjoy all the benefits of said trope. It's fresh, fun, and exciting. I've decided it was time for a re-listen to see what things I missed out on in the beginning that are integral parts of the show by the end. I'm already having a blast!

Care & Feeding of Werewolves, by Brenna Anderson-Dowd - What if True Blood were a sitcom, but far better than the sum of those two parts? What if it were funny and informative, silly and meaningful? You'd have Care & Feeding of Werewolves and you'd enjoy every single episode of this weird little show, and I do mean that endearingly. If it weren't weird, it wouldn't be nearly as fun.

General notes:

Tanizaki uses the formal "you" (vous) with Kunikida. They both use the informal "you" (tu) for Steinbeck and Lovecraft, and vice versa.

Tanizaki's speech about morality meaning nothing when it comes to Naomi was kinda bland and flat. No notable acting, no notable word choice. "When her life is in danger, I don't care for right and wrong", said like he was gonna follow up with something else, except not.
