Just watched TOS's episode Journey to Babel and there was a moment that had me giggling.
Around 5 minutes in, when Jim is giving Sarek a tour and Spock is not-so-inconspicuously sulking in the foreground with Amanda, Sarek says 'My wife, attend.' which we can presume is a Vulcan thing, probably a nice and polite way of reminding others who your mate is without all of the pre-Surak stabby-ness.
And then not even ten seconds later, when Spock turns to leave, Jim turns to him and says 'Mr. Spock, a moment if you please?'
And I can't help but see the little parallel. Its like Kirk felt the need to also show the room who his boyfriend is but copying Sarek, who Kirk only learned two minutes ago was Spock's dad, would have been a bit too cheeky. First meeting with the in-laws and all that.
Plus Jim calls Spock over to explain the Enterprise's computers which Sarek does not need to know about. Almost as if Jim had to come up with a reason on the spot to explain away why he just called Spock over like Sarek did with Amanda.
Double plus, Sarek and Amanda are Vulcan kissing the entire agonising trip Spock takes to walk over to Jim. Like, not a light brush of the fingers, those babies are firmly pressed and not budging. And they don't stop until Sarek has insulted Spock and sent him away. Its more a makeout session than a kiss.
So, anyway, Jim calls Spock over both because he's maybe a little intimidated by Sarek and wants his best friend/boyfriend to support him and also because, no matter the species, men behave similarly when it comes to certain things like mates and Jim was not about to be shown up on his own ship.

- that is a whole ass man.. HOW DID YOU MISS THAT WHOLE ASS MAN
- no but seriously even airports can check for human tissue like- I forgot this was made in the 60s I’m stupid stfu t0ast
- “more like a resort colony” my ass, Kirk
- BONES!!! He just kinda stands on the bridge (for no reason) and stares at what’s happening (at Jim)
- wow two redshirts dead in five minutes
- okay Bones walks over to Spock FOR NO REASON and I’m pretty sure he just wants to bicker
- my name is WHAT my name is WHO my name CHICKACHICKA Van Gelder
- why would destroying one control panel kill the ship?!? Design flaw imo
- “that doesn’t ring true” what are you a truth detector? I thought he was a doctor
- I love Bones “going against” Kirk (he’s smiling the whole damn time) and Spock backing him up
- “oh yeah I’m sending down Dr. Noel” REVEAL SHES A WOMAN OH MY GOD
- why’d he need to bring Spock down to the transporter room? Emotional support? He’d miss his boyfriend?

Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Kirk catapulting into danger right after they TOLD HIM NOT TO
- “and now she’s gone” “helen” I thought he was gonna shout or smt so when he just said “helen” it got me
- you know how this would be so much more tragic? If (canonically) Kirk was dating someone else aboard the ship *cough* you know *cough cough* and then the evil doctor implanted the idea he was in love with Dr. Noel and then him having to deal with the idea of loving both her and the other… anyway
- “Kirk to enterprise.. ughhkghjkk”
- He is literally the worst.. girlfailure
- people are too good at hiding in plain sight
- KIRK NOT AFRAID TO PUNCH A BITCH
- she- she just killed a guy.. good for her
- THE FUCKIN- the sitcom ass look Spock gives Jim like “oh really dr Adams did this”
- MCCOY!!! yeah he’s around. HE’S DEAD JIM MOME- oh no “he’s dead, captain” goddamnit Bones
- “can you imagine the mind emptied by that thing. Without even a tormentor” was a line most definitely meant for Spock and Bones but Dr.Noel saying “I understand” reminds me that she is indeed there not just observing but participating
- Bones just causally leaning against the back of his chair
- does he know? Does he even know that most medical officers don’t normally lean like that against your chair?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- OMG I SAW A POST ABOUT THE “it’s hard to believe a man could die of loneliness” “not when he’s sat in that room” AND THEN KIRK LOOKS OVER TO SPOCK AND SMILES
- he’s so surrounded by loved ones bro is beaming
Anyway all in all a good tenth episode!
I made a master list of all my Star Trek tos thought posts :D

Tumblr media
Pairing: Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy x F!Reader (eventual). Other Characters are the usual suspects: Jim Kirk, Nyota Uhura. Spock, Montgomery Scott, Hikaru Sulu, Pavel Chekov (to be introduced in later chapters.) OMC's Travis Myers and Miles Cooper.
Word Count: 4530
Warnings: Divorce, break-up, ruthless businessmen, mentions of infidelity, but mostly fluffy (for now)
Summary: Fresh off of his divorce, Dr. McCoy receives word that he has inherited a 5,000-acre farm and home in Logan, Montana. Finally, he has an opportunity for a clean slate and to start his own clinic out west and leave his ex-wife behind. Along the way, he'll meet a cast of unique characters, each with a place in his new small-town life. But there could be trouble ahead in the form of a powerful CEO hell-bent on acquiring Leonard's property by any means necessary.
A/N: This idea was posted by @hailbop1701, with a specific list of plot points/dialog to be included. I won't put the list here, because it'll give away too much. Not sure how many parts there'll be, but I hope you like where I take the story.
A/N 2: If you’ve been tagged here, it’s because you’ve interacted one or more times on a McCoy story of mine, or we’re moots. Whether you like or reblog, I am eternally grateful for your support. If anyone else would like to be tagged on any future Karl Urban character postings, or would rather leave the Crazy Train, please let me know. Thank you, and enjoy the show!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"Court is adjourned."
That was the declaration eight weeks ago, when Dr. Leonard H. McCoy sat at a table with his attorney in the Fulton County Courthouse in Atlanta, Georgia. The Honorable Judge Michael Simmons had just pounded his gavel on the bench to signify an end to the McCoy v. McCoy divorce proceedings. Unfortunately, his now-ex-wife, Jocelyn, had the better attorney, which resulted in a somewhat less-than-equitable division of their assets.
At least Leonard was able to keep his vintage pickup truck and the 4-bedroom, 2 bath, ranch-style home he had lived in with Jocelyn. She basically got everything else in the settlement, though, including most of the furniture. She didn't technically need the furniture, since she was moving in with her new boyfriend. However, he had a rental property that needed furnishings, so that's where they went.
Two weeks after the divorce was finalized, Leonard received correspondence from a law firm in Montana, with a request for his presence. The letter did not specify the reason for the request, and when he called the law office, no one was authorized to divulge any information. He didn't want to find himself on the wrong side of the law and besides, he was more than a little curious. Luckily, the law firm had a satellite office in Atlanta, so that's where he attended the meeting.
An hour or so after the meeting ended, a slightly dazed Leonard walked out of the attorney's office with a file folder and a property deed in his hand. The meeting was for the reading of the will for his distant uncle, Walter McCoy. Around 5,000 acres of land in Montana along with an old craftsman-style farmhouse were bequeathed to him to do with as he pleased. There were also various outbuildings on the property, such as a machine shed, a barn with a hay loft, and horse stables.
He had options. There was an Eastern conglomerate, NorthStar Corp, that was willing to pay a more than fair price to buy it from him, lock, stock, and barrel. With what they were offering, Leonard wouldn't have to worry about money for the foreseeable future, if ever. Or, he could make the break from Georgia and his ex-wife with her boy-toy to make a go of it in Logan, Montana. Although Leonard wanted to stay near his mother, Eleanora, he had to consider that this was his chance to start over somewhere else.
When he told his best friend, James T. Kirk, about his inheritance, Jim could hardly contain his excitement. He considered it to be the start to a great adventure and was more than willing to accompany Leonard.
Jim had no family ties to speak of, preferring to live a sort of nomadic existence. He even offered to take turns driving the moving truck the 1,900 or so miles to Montana. "Good music, good snacks, and good company are all we need to get us to our destination, Bones," Kirk told him with a wide grin.
The more Leonard thought about it, the more he warmed up to the idea of starting somewhere new. A place where he wouldn't have to worry about running into someone who knew about the divorce and wouldn't hesitate to share an opinion about it. So, with Jim's help, he cleared his house out of any remaining items, put them in storage, then contacted a realtor to list it for sale.
After only a few showings, a deal was quickly closed, with a $30,000.00 profit in his bank account to show for it. Leonard and Jim loaded up his remaining possessions into the moving van, hooked up a car trailer with Leonard's pickup truck on it, and headed west to Montana. The pair made a few stops along the way, renting a hotel room to rest for the night before hitting the road again the next morning.
The more miles Leonard put behind him, the more comfortable and free he felt with his decision. He wasn't too keen on leaving his mother behind, but she assured him that she would be fine, even encouraged him to take this leap. He made a note to send her a plane ticket so she could visit once he got settled.
Nearly four days and more than 1,900 miles later, Leonard turned into the gravel driveway that led to his new home. It was a charcoal gray with white trim craftsman-style farmhouse with a tall, red brick chimney on one side. The wooden wrap-around porch was accented with white, tapered columns, set on top of the slotted railing framing the area. He appreciated the large windows, which would bring in a good amount of natural light, as well as soft breezes on lazy summer days.
"Well? Is it everything you expected?" Jim asked.
"I didn't exactly know what to expect, Jim. I don't even remember either of my parents ever mentioning an 'Uncle Walter McCoy'. He isn't someone I knew well enough for him to leave me something like this, but I'll do my best to make the most of it. From what I've seen so far, though, at least the outside looks fine," Leonard replied.
"That's the spirit, Bones! Let's go have a look at the grounds, then inside the house. After that, we can start unloading your stuff," Jim grinned as he scrambled out of the truck.
Leonard stepped down from the driver's seat and closed the door. "Sure, Jim. Why not," he muttered to himself. He fished the house keys out of his pocket on his way up the porch steps. The front door was made of solid oak with a dark finish and leaded glass panels arranged in a geometric design. He inserted the key into the lock and tilted his head back. "Here goes nothin', I guess," he murmured, pushing the door open.
***
At just after 2:00pm, you stopped by the post office to retrieve your mail that had piled up over the last couple of days. Before you left, you strolled up to the counter to chat with your best friend, Nyota Uhura. Her shift was almost over, so she suggested the two of you meet for coffee and a snack at the Java Station Café on Main Street.
While you waited for her at the café, you thought about how you met her and what brought you back to Logan, Montana. Your now-ex-boyfriend, Travis Myers, had convinced you to move with him from Logan to Bozeman. He'd landed a lucrative position as in-house counsel for a large and powerful corporation. You found work at a tech company doing data entry work for a medical office. Not too terribly taxing nor was it what you wanted for a career, but it paid well.
Around the six-month mark of living together in the big city, Travis started coming home later and later in the evening. Missed date nights and other outings were becoming more frequent, with him coming to bed late and leaving before you woke up. Whenever you tried to talk to him about it, he always chalked it up to working late on a big case or project, so you let it go.
The last straw was when the two of you were supposed to meet a few of your friends for dinner. Since he was late picking you up from home, you asked one of them to drive you to the restaurant. From the lobby, you called Travis and told him to meet you there.
Just before you said your goodbyes, you heard, "Come back to bed, baby, I'm cold" in a woman's voice. You were furious, demanding to know who the woman was and how long he had been seeing her. After first denying everything, he ultimately confessed it was his assistant and it had been going on for about six weeks. You felt your world collapsing around you at his admission. Dinner was forgotten while your friends drove you back to the apartment to pack up your belongings.
You couch-surfed for about a month before finding an apartment back in Logan, where you had previously lived with your parents. Because Travis paid for most of the expenses such as rent and utilities, you were able to save up quite a nest egg to cover your new living situation. However, you weren't sure how much longer your savings would hold out, so you decided to look for a job to make ends meet.
The bell above the door tinkled, and Nyota rushed over to your table. After a brief hug, you both sat down and waited for your server to appear and take your order. Uhura was practically vibrating with energy, which meant she had something exciting to share. A few minutes later, with your order submitted, she spilled her secret.
"You'll never guess what happened today!" she exclaimed. "Two men came in today to file a change of address card."
You snorted. "That sounds like something that happens every day around here, Nyota, not that interesting. You're nearly jumping out of your skin about this. What is so compelling about them that has you barely able to sit still long enough to tell me?"
Uhura made a face at you to show her displeasure. "If you can keep from insulting me, I'll tell you," she pouted. You held up your hands in surrender as her cue to continue. "They moved here from Georgia, and one of them has the most tantalizing Southern accent. They were both tall, one blond hair with striking blue eyes, and the other dark hair and hazel eyes. He seemed a little grumpy at first, but Blue Eyes was the more charming of the two," she explained.
"Did you get a look at their new address, the one here?" you asked.
"The one with dark hair listed his name as Dr. Leonard H. McCoy, and his address matched the one for Walter McCoy's place," she replied.
Now she had your attention. Every so often, you drove by the farm, wishing you lived there instead of your small, one-bedroom apartment. You had thoughts about what it would be like to buy the place one day so you could fix it up and return it to some of its old glory. You'd heard through the grapevine that the owner passed away a few months back. It was also mentioned that ownership would pass to his only other living relative.
"I've always thought about that place, what it looks like inside, how I would spruce it up. Wait a minute, did you say Doctor McCoy?" you squeaked.
"And her brain has finally caught up with her mouth," Uhura joked. "I was wondering when you'd catch on to that tidbit of information. That house has a separate office space, ideal for treating patients. Word travels fast in this town, and once folks get to know there's a doctor in town again, Dr. McCoy is bound to need help. You know, with paperwork or coordinating treatment of his patients. Know anyone with those kind of skills?" she grinned.
In addition to your data entry job, you had acquired some basic medical training. The town had a couple of paramedics within the Volunteer Fire Department for the more serious cases. For now, it was enough, but it would be nice for the vacancy to be filled, especially by a handsome doctor. "Hmm. Maybe I should head out that way, introduce myself, see if he needs any help." Beg him for a job, you silently added.
"That's the spirit! If you're done with your coffee, we should drive out there and check things out. You in?" she held out her hand for you to shake.
After draining the last of your cappuccino, you nodded and shook her hand. "I'm all in," you declared.
***
Leonard and Jim wandered the property, taking in the condition and contents of the outbuildings. Many of the machines and tools were left behind. They noted which items were and were not still functional, to determine what could be easily returned to service or sold for parts. The good news was, the buildings themselves were structurally sound, although at least in need of a new outer coat of paint.
As for the house itself, Leonard was pleased to find a side entrance that led to an office, set apart from the main house. It was perfect for starting his clinic, with a small area that could function as a waiting room, and enough space for a reception desk. He made a note to check in town for a secondhand store to pick up a desk, some chairs and other furnishings.
Jim joked and told him that all he needed now was a pretty receptionist who could also perform nursing duties. Leonard glared at him in response, reminding him that after the way divorce went, he wasn't at all interested in dating. "Just doctorin'," he affirmed. "Maybe fishin', if the winds are just right," he added with a smirk.
A tour of the home's interior revealed hardwood flooring in the bedrooms and living room, while ceramic tiles covered the floor in the eat-in kitchen. There was a separate dining room space between the kitchen and living room. The centerpiece of the living room was a fireplace made with gray bricks and had a dark wooden mantle above it.
Before his arrival, Leonard contacted the utilities and asked for them to be turned on and transferred into his name. That gave Leonard and Jim a chance to determine what worked and what needed repaired. For the most part, the electrical system was in good working order, except for a few outlets that may need replaced or updated.
The water situation was another story. At first, when Jim turned on the high-arching faucet in the kitchen, the white farmhouse sink reflected a light brownish tint to the water. The pedestal sink and clawfoot tub in the main bathroom, plus the sinks in the half-baths were the same shade of brown. However, the more they let the water run, the clearer it became, which helped ease their minds a bit.
Leonard walked back out to the porch to make a mental list of what he'd need to bring the old house back to life and working order. The hardwood floors were in good condition, though they could use a bit of polish applied to them. There were a few non-working electrical outlets that would need an electrician's expertise to chase down the problem. In the bedrooms, there were spots where the wallpaper was peeling away from the wall. Not exactly a fan of wallpaper, Leonard decided it would be better to tear it all down and paint instead.
Overall, the pluses outweighed the minuses, such as the updated appliances in the kitchen and quartz countertops. Leonard could definitely see himself cooking up a Sunday dinner of his mother's chicken and dumplings with a peach cobbler. As an avid reader, he also loved the built-in bookshelves to showcase his personal library of classics. And the side-door entrance to the office space provided a break between his professional life and his personal life.
Jim joined him out on the porch and gazed out over the mature trees that dotted the property. "So now that you've taken the grand tour, what do you think, Bones?"
Leonard thought for a moment before answering. "Think I'm gonna like it here. Let's start unloading the truck," he directed. "Good thing we hit those consignment shops on the way here, or you wouldn't have a bed to sleep in," he jested.
Jim was about to unlatch the door on the moving truck when he noticed a car turning into the driveway. "Welcoming Committee?" he wondered. Leonard shook his head and rolled his eyes while he walked over to stand next to Jim. They both watched as the car rolled to a stop near the front of the truck.
***
The drive to the McCoy place only took about twenty minutes, which you spent silently reviewing your qualifications. Uhura could tell you were worried about making a good impression, which she was sure you would. She told you not to worry about it, that you were the best candidate for the job, if Dr. McCoy was hiring. "What if he's not hiring, though?" you asked.
"Then we'll have to convince him that he'll need your help, being the only doc in town. There really is no way around it, he will require an assistant," she reasoned. Her response sounded logical, so you accepted it and kept driving out to meet your prospective employer.
Soon your car was pulling into the driveway, where a large moving truck was parked. Upon seeing the two men standing to one side, you had to admit that Uhura was right. They were both strikingly handsome men. The dark-aired man carried a stern look on his face and his arms were crossed over his chest. The blond seemed a little more easygoing, self-assured, bordering on cocky, as if he knew what a good-looking man he was.
As you exited your vehicle, the men had started walking in your direction. "You ladies lost or somethin'?" the dark-haired man drawled. Ohhhh, that accent was enough to make you weak in the knees, you thought. You held on to your open door for balance.
"Yeah, can we help you?" the blond man wondered with a smirk.
When your brain finally rebooted, you responded, "Actually, we were hoping to be of assistance to you, since you're new in town." At this, you introduced the two of you and learned that the blond was James T. Kirk, or "Jim" he offered with a waggle of his eyebrows. His grumpy companion with the dark hair was the Dr. Leonard H. McCoy who now owned the property.
"I think we can manage fine with just the two of us. Good day, la--" Leonard was interrupted by Jim, who pulled him aside.
"Wait a minute, Bones, let's not be too hasty. I mean, these are a couple of gorgeous women who showed up out of nowhere to see us," Jim pointed out. "It wouldn't hurt to hear what they had to say, now would it?"
Leonard pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed in exasperation. He was here to be a physician, to take care of people who need help, not dip a toe in the dating pool. When he looked up, he noticed that Jim had left his side and was talking to Uhura, while you had stepped up in his place.
"Excuse me, Dr. McCoy? I understand that my friend and I just turned up unannounced on your doorstep, and you don't know anything about us. But this is a pretty small town, and I should tell you, it won't take long for people to learn that we have a new physician to replace old Doc Thomas. Therefore, I'm offering you my services. I have some basic medical training, and I used to do data entry for a medical company back in Bozeman," you explained.
"Bozeman? Why on earth would you ever leave there to live here? Not to say that what I've seen so far of Logan isn't simply charming," Leonard added with more than a hint of sarcasm.
"I'll be glad to share that little tidbit of information once we've gotten used to working together," you shot back. "By hiring me, you'll have a well-organized appointment calendar, along with accurate patient files. You'll also have someone who knows how to take and record vitals, which leaves you free to do the doctorin'. So, do we have a deal?" you asked, your hand outstretched.
Leonard took a moment to consider your offer, bold though it was. He had to concede that in a town of this size, word would get around about a new physician and spread like wildfire. He'd probably end up with a huge influx of patients. Even if it was only at first, he might become easily overwhelmed. Patient care was of the utmost importance to him, and if you could make things easier for him, who was he to reject such a proposition?
His lack of response translated to you as a decline of your offer of assistance. As you started to withdraw your hand, he quickly grabbed it and clasped it between his own. "Whoa, hold on there just a minute. All right, you have a deal, but we'll do this as a trial run. A three-month probationary period, take it or leave it," he bartered, fighting the urge to smile.
"Thank you, Dr. McCoy! Three months? That'll be more than enough time for you to decide you can't live without me! In-in the office, I mean," you clarified.
Leonard couldn't help but smile at your blunder. "All right, now that we have that settled, I hope you'll excuse me and Casanova over there with your friend. We have a lot to unload, and I'd like to sleep in my own bed tonight rather than the couch," he stated.
"We can help, if that's okay with you? With four sets of hands, we can be done in no time. Besides, I've always been kind of curious about what the inside of your house looks like," you admitted.
You are one interesting woman, Leonard thought to himself. "Okay, let's get started then. Once we get everything out of the truck, I'll take you on the nickel tour," he winked. He whistled to get Jim's and Uhura's attention, then opened up the back of the truck.
***
"There, I think that's the last of it," Leonard declared after he removed the final box from the moving truck and placed it on the lawn. He jumped up to grab the leather strap, then pulled down the rolling door until it was flush with the deck. He latched and locked the door, picked up the box, and brought it into his new home.
Jim and Uhura had taken your car into town to pick up something for dinner, which left you alone with Leonard. During the unloading, you didn't get much of a chance to stop and look around. But now that most of the heavy lifting was done, you seized the opportunity to take in your surroundings.
You were so caught up in admiring the home's features that you didn't hear Dr. McCoy slide up next to you. "If you have your nickel, I'm ready to start the tour," he grinned. You dug in your pocket, which luckily contained the right coin for the price of your ticket. "Ready when you are, Dr. McCoy," you replied, handing over the 5 cents.

Video Conference Call -- Bozeman, Montana
Travis checked his watch to see that he had another ten minutes before his conference call was scheduled to start. He opened the blue file folder in front of him, which was sent from his employer regarding a property they wanted to acquire in Logan, Montana. He sat back in his chair as he thought about how you'd moved there after breaking up with him. Before he could stroll any further down Memory Lane, his alarm beeped to let him know it was time to start the call.
"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen," Travis greeted. He could see the CEO, Miles Cooper, at the head of the table, surrounded by other members of NorthStar Corp's Board of Executives.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Myers. I see you have the file in front of you, so let's begin. We understand that the principal owner of the McCoy property has passed away. As such, we want to move forward and make the new owner an offer to purchase the parcel of land and whatever's on it. The house, barn, stables--everything, down to the last shingle," Mr. Cooper explained.
"My source tells me that the new owner drove all the way from Atlanta, Georgia to check out the property. He is also a doctor, and the town has been without one since the last one died. In my opinion, this could present a problem. He may decide to stay and 'hang out his shingle', as it were," Travis pointed out.
Mr. Cooper leaned back in his chair and rested his steepled index fingers on his chin as he contemplated his next move. As he considered this new development, conversation buzzed around him among the other executives. According to one of the scientific reports he received, there were plenty of reasons for encouraging the good doctor to sell.
The report mentioned the discovery of several veins of copper and silver running beneath the surface. The financial gains from mining those resources would more than cover the initial investment paid to acquire the property. Whether the new owner was aware of these precious metals was unknown, but Cooper needed to act fast before the doctor learned of their existence.
With a wave of his hand, silence returned to the board room as Mr. Cooper had made a decision. "Mr. Myers, I suggest you do your best to convince Dr. McCoy to sell the property to us. I will have a new purchase offer drawn up that's more than fair, and you should strongly encourage him to accept it."
Travis carefully considered Mr. Cooper's words that carried the barest hint of a threat behind them. "Sir, I will present your offer; however, we should be prepared for him to turn it down and decide to become the town's doctor."
"You worry about getting a signature on that purchase agreement, Myers, and I will worry about whether or not a contingency plan will be needed. Before the previous owner's death, this was a working farm, right? Lots of tools, machinery? Farming is considered to be one of the most dangerous professions, you know. Accidents can and do happen. It would be unfortunate if an accident should befall the good Dr. McCoy," Mr. Cooper replied darkly.
There was no mistake in Mr. Cooper's intent this time. "Absolutely, sir. I will find a way to present your offer that will make it difficult if not impossible to decline it."
Mr. Cooper's eyes brightened and a smile graced his face. "Excellent, Myers, I knew I could count on you. I'll send that new offer over to you as soon as I have it and we'll go from there," he stated. "I appreciate your cooperation, Myers, I certainly won't forget it."
"And thank you, Sir. I welcome this opportunity, and I will not let you down," Travis concluded.
"Let us hope not, Myers. I'd hate for you to experience any....negative fallout, should you be unable to close this deal," Mr. Cooper remarked ominously before disconnecting the call.
Travis relaxed in his chair and began to formulate a plan in his mind. A sly grin crept across his face as he thought of the perfect way to get an inside look into the doctor's life.
Of course, it involved a trip to Logan and should he happen to run into you, so much the better. For him, anyway. Though there was a near 100% chance that you would want nothing to do with him. If that was the case, his plan may be a bust before it even gets started.
Especially after the way things ended between you discovering his infidelity. For that reason alone, it was likely your walls of protection against him and his crap were nearly guaranteed to be sky-high. But it was a chance he was willing to take, because he did not want to disappoint his client. Something told him that with a failure of this magnitude, Mr. Cooper was capable of making his life a living hell.

1) Mon’s parents actually knew, or at least suspected, that the relationship between Mon and Sam is more than boss-employee but they decided to wait for Mon to be ready to tell them
2) Mon’s parents has a bet going on, on when Mon will tell them. And another bet on what is the next excuse Mon is using to stay over at Sam’s house
3) they went to the CherRisa resort after their marriage. Not as honeymoon place. They go there to meet up with Cher and Risa to let them know they are married now too, and just to have a small vacation.
4) further to above, I would like to think that Risa and Mon will have a close relationship where Mon will seek Risa’s advice and whatnot; while Sam and Cher will forever have that slightly antagonistic relationship in which they will always try to rile each other up (which in itself is a delight to watch) while the wives at the side going “I swear to god these two acts like brats sometimes” “yeah, but they are our lovable brats anyway”
5) Jim, knowing about Sam’s possessive streak, will sometimes do something to trigger that, just because she’s bored and Sam and Mon’s relationship is her source of entertainment. Sometimes Tee joined in too.
6) and then The Gang discovered that Mon is also possessive af.
7) Sam actually loves her company. It’s the first thing that is actually hers, and in her control; as opposed to all other things in her life
8) I would like to think, Neung and Grandma kinda be amicable when Grandma was in hospital. But Grandma started to contact Neung and try to make amends after she realised letting her grandchildren have their happiness is not a bad thing after all
9) Neung resisted initially but then she still loves Grandma. And Sam and Mon also kinda asking her to re-consider. She will relents and reconcile but she is not leaving her lifestyle
10) The staffs at Diversity will ask Mon to talk to Sam if they knew an idea will annoy the boss. Mon will only agrees to do it if she thinks the idea is actually good
11) Also, the staffs will know when Mon and Sam is having a lovers’ spat or something. It’s like a mini soap-opera for them
12) the first meeting between Grandma and Teacher Pohn and Aon will be hilariously awkward
13) Sam actually started to call Mon her wife in her head even before they got together. “Oh my wife is extra cute today. Hmm, how do I make her be in my room constantly? Oh I know! Reject her idea and keep asking her to come in here” (she’s a stupid useless traumatized gay, forgive her)
14) Sir Phoom actually has a boyfriend somewhere
15) Mon’s main love language is Acts of Service and Physical Touch. Sam’s would be Physical Touch and Gift-Giving
16) Sam is the most smug person in the whole world every time she’s introducing Mon as her partner/wife
17) Tee and Yuki after they gave sex advice to Sam and Mon: “Our friends are dumbasses”
18) Sam keeps learning and failing to communicate properly but she still does it coz she wants the best for Mon
19) they, at the very least, had a make out session in Duan Pen. And Sam actually apologised to Duan Pen after she and Mon had a quickie in there “Sorry Duan Pen for traumatizing you but I always lose control when she did that thing she does”
20) Nita is heartbroken when she heard the news of SamMon wedding. Then went to CherRisa resort and find a new love there.
21) Sam and Mon will be disgustingly sweet in front of The Gang. The Gang will take pleasure in roasting them
22) All this while, Sam actually helps to support Ice in secret. She still keep in contact with Ice and helps out whenever she can
23) this is not headcanon but Kirk can go to hell

Hi again!
I absolutely adored the last fic you did for me! I hope it's okay to request another so soon, I just love your writing so much I couldn't resist.
I was thinking like a part 2 to my first request with Kirk being really oblivious to the reader and McCoy's relationship, like he just doesn't expect them to be together so he doesn't even notice it for such a long time. Like he doesn't notice the little kisses and small gestures (THE HANDS!!!).
And yeah that's basically all I was thinking, and can sorta take it from there with what a part 2 would also include.
Again, thank you so much for doing my last request, I have so much love for your writing.
I hope you have the best day ever! ❤
hello hello! i’m really really happy that you liked how the first one turned out, and thanks for requesting this! enjoy :)

To say that Y/n and Leonard McCoy were in love was an understatement; both of them had never been happier than they were together, and each day they found more reasons to appreciate each other. They were the best of friends, and they showed their love in every little thing they did.
While Y/n and Leonard were both uncomfortable with excessive PDA, they had their little moments throughout each day. When ever they were side by side, Leonard would always link his pinky finger with Y/n’s, sort of like a vulcan kiss on the cheek. Y/n also loved it when they and their boyfriend just held hands or when he would come up and hug them. It was a constant reminder that they were loved and appreciated.
It didn’t take long for the rest of the ship to catch onto the romance forming in the medical; friends and strangers alike shared feelings of support to the relationship, and it was a well known fact that everyone knew Bones and Y/n were made for each other.
The only person who didn’t seem to catch on was the captain and best friend to Leonard, Jim Kirk. He knew that Bones and Y/n were friends, but for some reason he missed the subtle touches and glances between them. Maybe it was the fact that Jim was a very overly dramatic lover, or maybe he was just too much of a himbo, but James T. Kirk was oblivious to the fact that his best friend and doctor was in love.
It soon became a running joke among the crew members to see who could hint the most to Leonard and Y/n’s relationship without the captain catching on. Surprising, it went on for months, Kirk somehow missing the point to every hint or joke. Gradually the hints became more and more on the nose, with Spock eventually just saying point blank that Bones and Y/n were dating. Jim being Jim, however, laughed it off and rambled on about “Spock finding his funny bone.”
Eventually it became that time where the crew members from earth celebrated their winter holidays. Everyone came together and decorated the entire ship, explaining some of the peculiar imagery and traditions to those who were not familiar with it.
Y/n and Leonard came to the main bridge one day, only to find Jim harassing people with a sprig of mistletoe. Leonard had already explained the tradition of kissing under the bundle of evergreen leaves to Y/n, and so the two watched in amusement as Jim went around trying to convince people to embrace.
Suddenly he turned and saw his friend and Y/n watching him; a devilish grin grew on his face, and he practically pranced over to where they were standing. Gleefully Jim waved the mistletoe over Leonard’s and Y/n’s head, watching to see what would happen.
Leonard quickly glanced to Y/n to get their approval, and when they nodded in affirmation, he took their face in his hands and kissed them. Laughter broke out across the bridge as Jim’s face wore a look of surprise and shock; not even Y/n and Spock could keep a straight face.
“Wha- how? When? What?”
Shaking his head, Bones clapped a hand onto Jim’s shoulder. “My friend, it’s a miracle you’ve been alive this long.”

Rewatching Amok Time be like
finally. the episode where Spock and Kirk fuck in front of a bunch of vulcans. I remember how uncomfortable my dad looked when we watched it and also how I didn’t really get it because I was eight and the german dub sucked.
awww and it starts with Bones worrying about Spock 😍😍😍 i forgot about everything but the obvious part of the episode
ok poor Christine she didn’t deserve this
ooohhh new intro, now it’s sung and DeForest is also starring <3 as he should (although why didn’t they put the entire cast of the senior crew there?)
whyyyy are you hiding something behind your back, babe
omg the puppy eyes with which Jim tells Spock that they won’t have time to stop by Vulcan after all killed me 🥺
the stance of Jim asking Spock to come with him into the turbolift is the stance of a parent scolding their child
“you’re sick, babe, go to sick bay”
hah that rhymed I am a musical genius
“yield to the logic of the situation” is such a powerful statement actually
“as tight lipped as an aldeberan shellmouth” I love these little space sayings cause it means that there is a human out there who’s job it was to invent species and connect attributes to them to create sayings that make it sound like the federation has been out there so long they started picking them up and using them as well and I think that is beautiful
“biology as in... reproduction” translates to “you’re telling me you’re just horny? in heat? fuck or die disease?” god how did my dad watch this with me when I was a kid?
it’s Checkov’s first episode and he and Sulu are getting whiplash from all the back and forth 😂😂 what a great introduction of his new home, and yes it’s totally normal for Spock to try to kidnap the ship, Jim to bend the rules to save him and Bones just being done with and shouting at both of them
tbh whenever someone interrupts me while I’m trying to practice an intstrument I too have the instinct to just destroy my computer
“your face is wet” that is. the most non-soothing crap you could’ve said, Spock
soup.
“you’ve been most patient with my kinds of madness” gay.
ahhhhhh he’s asking his boyfriends for emotional support I can’t guys I’m dying aaaaaaaahhhhh
“she is lovely, Mr. Spock. Who is she?” Nyota has a cruuuush
tfw your bf is not only married, but also really famous
awwww he vouches for his boyfriends 😍
these bells are REALLY starting to get on my nerves
PLOT TWIST
“in this climate?” will be my new “in this economy?”
i really don’t like all that talk about the possession of women
you know they could have mentioned it’s a life or death combat earlier
the T in James T Kirk stands for “tiddies out tuesday”
why. does jim. breathe. like that.
this is so sexual i can’t. I just can’t.
smart move, having them beam up off-screen to save a few bucks
“I shall do neither” just killed me dead
I live for the happiness in Spock’s eyes as he sees Jim again
sending Christine out to be alone, uhhuh, so what’re you planning to do now that you’re together again 😏😏
ahhhh i love it. very good. wouldn’t recommend showing to your EIGHT YEAR OLD CHILDREN tho!

I think I got a ship from you before, but I cannot find it, so I hope you don't mind me sending another! lol Can I get male ships from Enterprise & AOS? I have anxiety, depression & chronic pain, but deal with it very well. I'm kind to a fault, and patient. I tend to be the problem solver or the shoulder to lean on, but never the one who is offered that in return. I studied Anthro/Archaeology & History for 6 years. I love food/cooking, I read and paint. I adore nature and animals, and only ever feel at peace outside. I'm often attracted to more mature men with a fun side, rather than an immature man with a mature side lol, and I love kind and funny men. I also like to be taken care of but not babied. I hope that's enough lol. Thank you ❤❤❤
Hey Mera! I don't mind at all! <3
Enterprise ship:
Tumblr media
TRomantic partner: Jonathan Archer
Best friend: T'Pol
Right, so you would be a xeno-anthropologist and as such would work closely with T'Pol. You would be her favourite science officer (though she'd never admit it) due to your intelligence and diligence. She would thus often recommend you for missions and projects, often citing your skills to the captain. Jon would become intrigued by the officer who captivated T'Pol. He'd start requesting your company skills on away missions just to spend time with you. You would become Jon's confidant; he'd lean on you for support and ask you for advice often. He would definitely be sure to offer you his shoulder to lean on, too. He'd be gentle about it, though, never trying to push his support onto you if you weren't up for it. Porthos would become your best friend, and sometimes would spend the night in your quarters. As your captain, it would be Jon's duty to make sure you were doing okay. But as your boyfriend, Jon would make it a point to see to it himself that all your needs were being met. He'd do literally anything for you and would be all too eager to care for you.
AOS ship:
Tumblr media
Romantic partner: Spock
Best friend: Jim Kirk
Like on the Enterprise NX-01, you would be a xeno-anthropologist. You'd work under Spock's command, and he would quickly come to appreciate your talents. He would be most impressed at your skills and knowledge of other cultures and races. But it would be more than just your job skills that impressed him: your strength and determination would be admirable qualities to him. Once the two of you are friends, he would teach you Vulcan meditation techniques to help with your anxiety and depression, and would even do Vulcan neuro-pressure to help your chronic pain. You'd learn Vulcan recipes so you could cook Spock some of his favourite dishes. In return, he'd read your favourite books and would do paint nights with you (despite him not being overly artistic). Though Jim is the captain and has to keep a certain distance from his crew, he'd be quite invested in your and Spock's relationship. He'd say it's because Spock is more efficient at his job with you by his side, but really he's just happy the two of you are so in love.
Ships are open for January! See pinned post for details

Fics I have either started and need to finish or that I just plain need to start:
My Troi/Ro missing scenes that I published the first two chapters of and never finished the third
Tom and Harry's first date. If you want it to just be fluffy stop reading here. This one is actually finished but
Sequel to the above. The whole ship dies and we realize the first fic was from the perspective of alternate universe!Harry that saves Naomi Wildman as she's born. Now he has to cope with the fact that he'll never quite belong and that he'll never see anyone he loves again, and now he's got his boyfriend trying to comfort him about it but the boyfriend only knows him as just friends
Julian spiraling after Inquisition and thinking about how his two biggest traumatic experiences were wielded against him
Ezri going through Jadzia's stuff and finding the earrings Lenara gave her and getting Emotions about it
B7 fic where Harry gets kidnapped by aliens and B'elanna and Seven have to go undercover on the planet to save him. Featuring lots of bickering, them getting imprisoned, and them being forced to address the root of their issues with each other to escape and rescue Harry. Very loosely inspired by Barbie: A Fairy Secret
A full length version of that post I made where we see each member of the Niners go to a baseball game with Benjamin. Also featuring Imaginary!Buck Bokai bc while I didn't like the episode as a whole, those were interesting aliens and I'm disappointed we never got to see them again
Rom comes out as nonbinary, almost everyone is supportive and good with it, but Quark keeps making mistakes. We get a parallel where Nog threatens to burn down the bar if Quark stands in the way of his parent's happiness
Short and fluffy Seven/Raffi where Seven muses about how much she loves her while lying next to a sleeping Raffi. Quotes Sappho
Julian talks to various crew members after he gets outed as genetically engineered. May include a conversation with Miles about why it's okay for him specifically to call him Jules, but that may also be it's own fic
Quasi-quodo fic where Quark had feelings for Odo and was working on getting over his internalized stuff so that he could actually talk to Odo about it, but then Odo was too busy fucking for 3 days and nearly got Quark's brother killed and now Quark has to deal with that. Featuring Quark forming a genuine friendship with Nerys bc they're the only people who were really close to Odo and fully understand how fucked up this is to deal with emotionally. Featuring Leeta punching Odo and telling him to stay away from her family
Rejoined... 2! Since ds9 has the distinction of both being next to a stable wormhole and being the last place in the Alpha Quadrant Voyager was seen, when Starfleet commissions the Trill Science Ministry to look into ways to use a stable wormhole to bring Voyager home, Lenara and her team relocate permanently to ds9. We have a parallel where Kira and Ezri have the same conversation Benjamin and Jadzia had warning about Lenara coming. May or may not end with them getting together, but definitely at least featurs Ezri realizing she's a lesbian
Aos!Kirk/Spock/Uhura get together. Takes place after Beyond while Spock and Uhura are still broken up; they talk about why they broke up, speak frankly about their feelings, and decide together to ask Jim into the relationship
Honestly? Might steal @8daysuntiltheapocalypseiguess 's Dean Winchester writes Star Trek fanfiction and do Tom Paris writes Supernatural fanfiction to figure out his gender. Would NOT be the same format, I do not know how Elle does that, they're a god amongst men

The Mystery Of The Missing McCoy
Okay, so this is just pure tooth-rotting fluff. Please enjoy and brush your teeth after. I love you all just so you know. I'm sorry for all the cheese...😅🧀🧀
-H❤🖖
Shore leave was supposed to be relaxing but no Leonard McCoy just had to go missing. You scowled at your comm before pocketing the device, you had just hung up with Jim. You had just told him that his best friend was still missing, “This is not how I wanted to spend my Christmas,” you grumbled as you climbed higher on a kiosk, only getting a few odd looks. ‘He is in so much trouble,’ you thought tiredly as you scanned the giant crowd. Yorktown was certainly celebrating the holidays with splendor because there were people everywhere from just about every species you could think of. Yorktown had pulled out all the stops when it came to decorating, every winter celebration from multiple cultures was represented, “This is going to be nearly impossible,” you moaned a headache forming behind your eyes. Hopping down from your elevated perch you gave the guy running the kiosk a cheeky smile. You thought hard about where you could possibly locate the Enterprises CMO, the obvious places where out. You checked. The hospital, the bars that didn’t attract too many people, the bars that attracted way too many people, and the bars in between. You checked the map on your PADD again, “Been there, and there, he would never go there but checked it anyway,” you muttered only occasionally glancing up to make sure that he wasn’t right in front of you. It would be just your luck that he would be in the crowd and you’d walk right past him.
A frustrated anxious whine escaped your lips as you were bumped, jostled, sang to, and hit on. You kept your eyes carefully away from any salesperson on the street; who were desperate to get anybody’s attention at this point. “Come on (Y/N) where would you go if you were Leonard McCoy?” you asked yourself quietly, biting your lip you moved so you were hidden in an alcove. You leaned against the cool stone wall and closed your eyes blocking out the noise of the Winter Festival. Taking a deep breath you thought back on Leonard, his sullen attitude when it came to Christmas time, his tired eyes, him lying hurt on a biobed, and a holo image of his daughter danced in your head. “Home. He would go home,” you whispered eyes flying open, shaking your head a little you wanted to get rid of the more horrible memories. Pulling up Yorktown’s map again you scrolled through the various attractions and amenities. There. “The new Holo-decks,” you breathed a smile spreading across your face. They installed the new Holo-deck technology pretty recently and people often used it for recreational, educational, and pure homesickness. A large number of folks from the fleet use it to see home again, ‘I guess Leonard finally decided to use his free pass,’ you mused rushing over to a local transporter pad.
The transporter dropped you off at another pad a block away from your destination, praying to whatever god that may be listening you hoped that Leonard McCoy was there. Setting a brisk pace you thought about the best way to talk to the depressed CMO slash long-term boyfriend and bring him back to the ship without too much fanfare. Pausing outside the doors of the felicity your hand hovered over the door controls. ‘Maybe I should leave him be…’ shaking the thought from your head you palmed the door. It swished open revealing a stark lobby with a reception desk. Walking up to it you saw a young Andorian man tapping away at a terminal, “I’ll be with you in just a moment,” he muttered without looking up from the screen. You suppressed an impatient sigh and scanned your surroundings. The room was pretty spartan, with a few couches and coffee tables with some holo-mags sitting on them. A coffee bar sat in the corner and the room was lazily decorated for the holidays.
The Andorian man finally looked up from his terminal with a fake smile on his face, he clearly didn’t want to be there. “Hi I’m looking for my boyfriend and I think he might be here, Doctor Leonard McCoy?” you asked with what you hoped was a pretty and kind smile. The man pressed his lips together, “I can’t offer information like that,” he said in hesitation his mood changing at the sight of your smile. You mentally groaned, ‘I figured,’ you ran a hand through your hair and leaned against the counter of the reception desk. “Please he’s been missing for hours and if I don’t bring him back to the ship we’re assigned to soon my Captain is going to have my ass,” you hoped the partial truth would be enough to convince him. The man grumbled and tapped at his terminal and paused again looking up at you, “I’m going to go for a coffee break,” he hinted before standing up and leaving the room into an employee’s lounge. Smirking you rounded the counter and sat down at the open terminal, tapping at the screen expertly you quickly found Leonard in one of the rooms. “Holo-deck room number seven, experience: Earth, United States, Georgia” you read off the screen. Pursing your lips you accessed the door that leads to various decks and punched in the code for Leonards into the lift.
Getting off the turbo lift was an interesting experience, you moved from the lift right onto a road lined with magnolia trees. You smiled a little at the sight and took a deep breath, the air even smelt like them. Shucking your coat you moved quickly down the little road towards what looked to be an old farmhouse. Turning your fast walk into a jog you finally caught sight of him; Leonard stood on the wrap-around porch leaning against one of the support beams. He was watching what looked to be horses milling around in the distance, “Len?” you called stopping at the bottom of the old wooden steps. The man in question turned surprised to see you, “(Y/N) darlin’ What are you doing here?” he asked brows furrowed. You huffed and heavily sat down on the stairs of the farmhouse, “Well you missed check-in, and Jim became worried after two hours of radio silence from you,” you said and Leonard moved so he was sitting next to you. His look of surprise didn’t disappear, “I din’ realize I’ve been gone so long,” he muttered rubbing his face with his hands tiredly. You hummed pulling out a tricorder, “You missed your appointment at Yorktown General, and Jim sent me to drag your ass back to the ship so you can have it there,” you mumbled reading the scanner. “And by the way, you are in so much trouble,” you muttered grouchily.
Leonard harumphed, “What’s the prognosis?” he asked dryly, you ignored him and gently placed your hands on his face to get a good look at his eyes. “I’m a psychologist sweetie, I’m not that kind of doctor but what I saw isn’t making me happy,” you sighed and held fast when he tried to yank his face from your grip. “You’re tired, you’re blood pressure is pretty damn high, and your side is bothering you considerably. Cause you know being stabbed tends to do that,” Leonard sighed at your tirade. “I’m fine (Y/N), I just needed some time to process some things” he admitted making you deflate a little. You took your hands from his face and gently took one of his hands. “You know I love you right?” you asked feeling suddenly helpless. Leonard was distancing himself and it worried you to no end, it felt like he was going to break things off. Leonard finally looked up at you and groaned guiltily, he saw the worry, fear, and sadness in your eyes. “Ah sugar I’m sorry, I haven’t been the best boyfriend lately and-” he ran a hand through his hair while the other gripped yours. “I’m just a nervous wreck and that mission didn’t help things…” he trailed off leaving you confused. “Why would you be nervous I don-” you opened and closed your mouth like a fish, shock washed over you as Leonard pulled something from his pocket and knelt in front of you.
“(Y/N) I’ve been sitting on this damn ring for a couple of months now. I had no clue on how to ask you and then the away mission happened,” Leonard took a deep breath and you couldn’t help but hold yours. “I think you findin’ me today meant that I need to get off my ass and swallow my fears. I love you so much it hurts and I want you with me in that glorified tin can we call home with the craziest family I’ve ever had. Will you marry me darlin’?” and the world stopped. You let out your breath and got on your knees with him, “If I could say yes a million times I would. I’ll love you until every star, sun, and planet dies,” you whispered resting your hands on his cheeks. Leonard steadily took the ring from the ornate box and slipped it onto your left hand; the ring fit perfectly and the sudden heaviness just felt right. You looked at the simpleness of it and beamed happily, the band itself was a rose-gold and in the center sat a moonstone with a dozen or so little diamonds surrounded it like stars. You looked up at Leonard to say how beautiful it was but he surged forward capturing your lips with his own. After a few moments of not being able to breathe in the best kind of way the holo-deck beeped and ended the session. Leonard helped you to your feet holding you closely with a grin still firmly in place, he pulled out his communicator, “McCoy to Enterprise,”
Uhura answered with a smile in her voice, “Enterprise to McCoy. Hey Len are you ready?” she asked. You couldn’t help but shake your head, ‘This had to be a setup’ Leonard looked down at you wrapping an arm around your waist muttering “Damn kid,” under his breath. “Two to beam up Scotty,” he said louder to the CE knowing he was listening. The familiar lights of the Enterprise’s transporter covered you and Leonard in a beautiful gold. But you didn’t arrive in the transporter room, you and your now fiance landed on the bridge. As soon as you landed there were cheers and the pop of a champagne bottle; Kirk rushed over and pulled you both into a bear hug, an excited grin on his face. “I am so happy for you guys right now you have no freaking idea!” he said bouncing a little, you chuckled and then full out laughed when more people joined the hug. Chekov, Sulu, and Scotty squeezed you and Leonard tight. Your fiance griped and complained but you knew that was all for show, and by the smile, he couldn’t keep off his face he was loving every moment of it.
Nyota grabbed your hand examining the ring that sat there intently, “It’s gorgeous!” she breathed turning your hand so she could see it from different angles. Spock looked at it over her shoulder almost fascinated by it, “I also find it pleasing to look at,” he complimented and bowed his head holding up his hand in the traditional Vulcan salute. “I must congratulate you (Y/N) and I wish you and Leonard peace and happiness,” he said his eyes betraying what his tone didn’t. You copied the salute easily, “Thank you, Spock,” the Vulcan nodded his head once and his eyes changed from happy to amused. “It will be most beneficial to the ship that there will be two Doctor McCoy’s serving aboard her,” the statement made kirk bark out a laugh. You looked at Leonard over Chekov’s head, he gave you a crooked smile, and you knew at that moment that things were changing for the better and that you will never be alone again.

i like the idea of bones being clueless of jim’s bisexuality and jim being clueless that bones is clueless because jim has made it VERY OBVIOUS that he’s bisexual
like every time they’re talking about one of jim’s exes bones always says “ex girlfriends” and jim always starts the next sentence like “yeah so my EXES”
and if jim is talking about an ex he says it like “this person i was with” or “this woman i was with” or “this man i was with” or “my old partner” because he doesn’t wanna straight up say “THIS PERSON I WAS FUCKING” because jim kirk is polite
and one day jim casually says “yeah so this guy i almost married...” and bones is like “JIM. WHAT.” and jim’s like really confused and he’s like “bones... you know... i don’t ONLY like women, right?”
and bones is all “i support you jim but SINCE WHEN??” and jim is like “???? since ALWAYS??? bones!! you’ve met AT LEAST three of my ex boyfriends???”

The Slipknot Incident
Anon, I’m an idiot and tunglr is a functioning website, so I lost your ask while trying to edit shit SO it was just easier to write this up. I doubt many people want to know, and I don’t blame them. It probably wouldn’t seem like a big deal to someone it didn’t happen to! And maybe I should just still be keeping it to myself, because who cares! Amirite? But no. I’ve decided that I want to write it all out for ME. So. Very long post ahead and I’m sorry about that but you need to know EVERYTHING for it all to really make sense.
So, flashback to 1999. I'm 15-turning 16. I have this boyfriend, kirk. He's obsessed with kurt cobain and everything grunge, and uses this to belittle the fact I like all kinds of music, particularly heavy stuff.
He was also an abusive cunt. Verbally and physically. Very controlling, HATED it if i went in the mosh pit (which I L O V E D, and glasgow moshpits are legendarily rough) because "that's not what girls do. And i know this is wrong, and he's wrong, and I shouldn’t put up with it, but I do! Cos I'm 16 and "in love"!
I also have two big sisters, one of which is...a handful. Very dramatic, very argumentative, and very good at getting people to take her side (steeeeeeff you've got to let her take xyz of your things, she has a baaaaaaaaybeee!) We get on amazingly NOW, but then not so much.
So, fastforward to Feb 2000. Slipknot are playing at glasgow barrowlands, my favourite venue ever, and slipknot were already my favourite band (s/t had hit, the world went wild). And I managed to get two tickets!! So kirk tells me in no uncertain terms that I've to give one to his little sister, nicky, who is a year younger than me. I'm like um ok sure, cos i hadn't planned who i was going with yet, my mum just got two tickets just in case. So I say i will, and that's that.
But oh no it isn’t. because my aforementioned sisters birthday is at the end of Feb! And my family are like, you’re giving her the other ticket, right? And no amount of no, I already promised it to Nicky would suffice. Because SHE’S YOUR SISTER AND SHE NEVER GETS TO DO ANYTHING COS SHE HAS A BAAAAAYBEEEEEEE. She didn’t, and doesn’t like Slipknot or either of the support act (Kittie and, thankfully, my good pals One Minute Silence who I’ve seen more times than I’ve had hot dinners)
So I explain this to Kirk, sitting in his room one day. He. Goes. B a l l i s t i c. I’ll miss the details but he explains that I WILL find a way for Nicky to go to this sold-out gig and, actually, him too while I’m at it. Because I have a reputation for being able to blag onto guest lists, it shouldn’t be too hard, right? So ofc I’m scared and promise I will.
The day or so before the gig, Slipknot did a signing in a Virgin Megastore that had recently opened. My friends and I were so excited, we were there from crazy early in the morning to get stuff signed (there ARE photos somewhere in the ether, who knows where, not me). But I’m also terrified Kirk’s gonna find out I’m there, cos he didn’t want me to go. That’s it. We had no idea what the band looked like yet so it wasn’t that kind of jealousy. But anyway...
The signing was great. Got my shit signed, Sid and Chris were weird assholes cos that was their schtick, Jim and Mick gave me the best cuddles, CRAIG SPOKE TO ME cos I have him a wee pin badge and he mumbled “No one ever gives me anything...”, and I gave Joey and Corey nailpolish. Joey looked terrified, Corey was incredibly thankful, and pulled me in for a hug. That he wouldn’t let me out of (not in a forceful way, just in a heeeeey lady let me hug on you for a while) and I’m like uh *panics in 16 not that he knows that cos tattoos and piercings and huuuuuuge boobs* and he says some very suggestive things and my friend said aye she’s into all that freaky shit too and I’m dying inside. Offers were made, I said uh lol maybe bye, and go home on cloud nine.
Until my friend who spoke to Corey tells Kirk what happened. Thankfully I wasn’t gonna see him until nearly door opening gig time, but the phonecall we had was...unpleasant.
So it’s the day of the gig, I go to Glasgow stupid early to meet the OMS boys and beg and plead for them to put Kirk and his sister on the guest list. And they do! Because I cry and tell them everything and I have to make their singer promise not to wait outside and beat him up. I could tell you what I was wearing: a deftones baseball ringer I lost my birginity in, baggies, and a powerpuff girls hoodie. My hair was blonde and green. I was wearing my favourite converse that Kirk hates because they were All-Stars, not One-Stars. And Corey wore All-Stars, was I wearing them because HE wore them?
My sister turns up before the doors open. I’m at the front of the queue cos I want to be down the front. My sister and Kirk are both like lol no, because YOU need to  look after your sister (who is 24 to my 16 at this point) because she’s tiny and I go to more gigs, and Kirk doesn’t want me anywhere near the front or the pit. Doesn’t want me to corrupt his sister. But she begs me to take her in the pit for “Spit It Out” and I promise I will.
OMS are incredible, Kittie were ok, Talena tried to crowdsurf and got dropped. I turned around to talk to my sister about it and she was...gone. I checked the bar. Nothing. The toilets. Nada. Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck we’re supposed to get the last train home together, I HAVE to find her. Slipknot come on. We’re standing up the back near the bar, and he has a deathgrip on my wrist so I don’t run off. Then I think I see my sister!! I beg to go to her, he lets me go, but I can’t find her, then I can’t find my way back to him. By the time I do, he accuses me of finding and kissing my friend Mark (my best friend who I’d actually recently fallen out with and hadn’t spoken to in months and only knew he was at the gig cos I saw him at the signing. I didn’t see him at the gig). I don’t find my sister.
Kirk decides it’s time to go, so literally drags us away. As we’re nearly out the crowd, “Spit It Out” starts, and I rip my arm away from him and grab his sister, tell him FUCK YOU, WE’RE DOING THIS. So we do. For about...a minute or so. Then something grips my right wrist so hard and so tight I thought it was going to crumble. I literally trip over my feet as he drags me back out the crowd and out of the ballroom.
Now the Barrowlands has a set of couches just outside the main hall, it’s a popular meeting place, so I pulled away again there and said NO, I have to wait for my sister, I’ll see him later, he can go home. Furiously he stomps away. So I sit and wait. And wait. And wait. The entire venue empties and my sister is nowhere to be seen. Turns out she left just as Slipknot started and went home, and yes I got in trouble for that despite the fact she fucked off. The venue staff need me to leave. I’ve missed the last train, I don’t know what I’m going to do. So I walk outside thinking maybe I’ll see a friend I can stay with.
And there’s Kirk and Nicky. Standing by their dad’s car. Hey come stay with me, I didn’t want to go til I knew you were ok, he says, sweet as pie. We get home, everyone goes to bed.
Where he put self-titled on repeat, very low on his stereo, and proceeded to do some of the most horrific things that have every happened to me in my life, over the course of basically the entire night. I’m going to stay non-specific, but if you can imagine it, it probably happened. Including yes, what you’re definitely thinking of now. And he told me it was all my fault. Because I was weak and couldn’t say no. Because I was a slut who’d catch something by fucking a guy in a band just to say I’d fucked someone in a band. That he’d make sure Corey wouldn’t want me if I ever met him again. That it was my fault for talking to another, older man. I was getting what I deserved. He plugged his big fancy headphones into the stereo and made me listen to my favourite tracks over and over and over during some of it, and I didn’t dare make a noise because if his parents found out, if anyone found out, he’d kill me. And I believed him, because he kept a bolt gun in his bedside drawer, liked to pretend he was going to shoot himself with it it upset me and make me beg him not to. He said he’d make me do it to myself maybe, to keep his hands clean. I believed every word.
I went home the next day packed with toilet tissue that I had to clench to keep in place because my underwear had been ripped, not that it mattered because it was covered in blood anyway. When I got home I got a bollocking and grounded because of the shit with my sister. She remembers none of it, but she’ll still insist it was probably my fault she left.
When I saw that Slipknot weren’t playing “Spit It Out” in January I literally cried tears of relief. It took me a long time to be able to listen to Slipknot again, and when I did I was made fun of for liking them, which made healing harder because I was just trying to reclaim this thing that had given me such comfort in the past. So I’ve always kinda kept my love of them to myself.
But when I hear “Spit It Out”, I feel his fingers close around my wrist. I feel the bones click and roll. And normally I can turn the song off if I’m having a bad day, but I couldn’t exactly do that live. That’s a huge part of why I feel me like, reclaiming Slipknot this past year was just...meant to happen. It was nearly 20 years to the day, I bought the tickets with MY money and was going MYSELF for MYSELF, they weren’t playing a song that I might have a fucking breakdown to. I met amazing people. I did EVERYTHING on MY terms.
Honestly I’ll never be healed of it. Duh. But I can talk about it now because I’ve had closure. I took back what was taken from me. Can’t make up for the missed gigs taken from me and the like but meh, that’s nothing compared to what it’s given me.

Summer Wind
Tumblr media
Summary: You love to dance along with some good music the night before an away mission.
Pairing: Leonard McCoy x Reader;
Word Count: 2k;
Warning: Fluff, Injuries, Blood, Angst, Sadness;
A/N: Hi everyone, i can’t stop writing Bones, please don’t send help. Hope you enjoy, feedback is always appreciated. Love you all xoxo.
It was the end of the day. Finally. After hours of briefing on the next day’s mission, you walked down the ship’s corridors, heading to your quarters, which you shared with your boyfriend. Little you knew, Leonard was already there, waiting for you. While you approached, you could hear a very faint sound, coming from your quarters.
As soon as you stepped in, you heard music coming from the speakers on a counter. You smiled in excitement recognizing the melody. It was a very old song but one of your favorite ones: Frank Sinatra’s “Summer Wind”.
Walking slowly towards the source of the sound, Leonard appeared from the bedroom and leaned on the door frame.
“Rough day?” he asked.
“Yeah” your voice came out as a tired whisper. He simply nodded and came over to you, turning the volume up a little.
Offering you his hand he asked “May I?”
Oh, he knew you well. Dancing was your cure for almost everything. Whenever you were stressed out, angry, happy, you would always put on some music and danced until your feet hurt, whether it was loud or chill. You used to do it alone for a lot of time, then you met him. So now you danced together as a couple whenever you find an occasion.
Bones would never admit it, but he liked it a lot too. It was calming and stress-relieving. Even though, what he loved even more was seeing you smile and having the perfect excuse to hug you constantly after a long day on that damn ship.
“Of course” you smirked accepting his hand. He instantly led you to the center of the room and encircled your waist lightly with his free arm.
You let the melody fill your ears as you stayed silent, enjoying the music and dancing along slowly.
After a few seconds you smiled at him “My favorite”
“Only the best for you” he said making you spin with one hand before embracing your waist again.
Letting out a giggle, you looked at him with bright eyes. You lived for those moments together, and so did him. Before embarking in a five- years mission aboard the Enterprise, Bones wasn’t really keen of the idea, but then he met you and then the idea of being stuck in the universe with you wasn’t that bad after all.
When the song ultimately came to an end, you sighed.
“What is it?” he asked.
You released the embrace taking his hands in yours. “Tomorrow’s mission. It’s going to be a looong day.”
Giving you a sympathetic smile, he responded “We can still dance all your favorite songs when we are done. All night long”
“Sounds like a plan” you stated.
“Indeed sweetheart” he cupped your face and gave you a little kiss “Let’s go to bed”
         ____________________________________________________
Among all the plans you had for that day, being captured on a not-so-friendly planet, inhabited by an obviously not-so-friendly aliens, was not one of them.
Kirk had mentioned the possibility of finding some complications with these people, due to their aggressive instinct towards the Starfleet, but you were all confident about having finally a peace treaty between the two factions. That was probably not gonna happen.
You beamed down ready to negotiate, along with Kirk, Commander Spock, your boyfriend and some other red shirts. Everything seemed normal when suddenly a large group of inhabitants surrounded you, fully armed. Kirk’s words of encouragement towards a negotiation went vain when they all captured you and separated you. Bones’ voice when he screamed your name as you were pulled away from him, still echoed in your ears.
It was the last time you saw your shipmates as you were dragged to an empty and small cell. You had no idea where the others where or why they all separated you. Right now the only thing you knew was that you needed to get out of there, search for the others and leave that planet ASAP.
Fortunately, Scotty had taught you some tricks to deactivate cell doors, so you got to work almost immediately. The controlling panel was old and crappy, in just few minutes you were able to open it and take a careful look outside. Silence. That was weird.
Looking side to side many times before stepping outside your cell, you proceeded to stealthily walk down the corridors of the building you were held in. Minutes went by, you continued searching for anyone, but there was only silence. While you were just about to turn to the umpteenth corner, suddenly a very loud alarm sound went off as you heard footsteps approaching you from behind. Maybe they were your shipmates and Leonard who were able to escape as well. Turned out you were wrong.
Those who captured you came out from the corner and instantly shouted “You! Stop!”
Without even thinking twice you turned and started running but your run was quickly stopped by a large hand gripping around your neck. Your breath was caught in your throat.
“We said stop” the alien repeated with his mephitic breath.
“Let me… go” you managed to say.
“Where are your friends human?” the large creature asked you.
“I... don’t know” his grip tightened.
He smirked and stated “Very well”
Without saying anything else he gripped your hands and dragged you down the corridors along with all the other aliens, who followed him.
You arrived in a large and cold room as the creature threw you to the ground with an evil laugh. Groaning you tried to lift yourself up but you were soon gripped by the neck again making you stand on your knees.
“Let’s see if your captain will show up” he stated.
Out of nowhere he pulled out a knife and stabbed one of your forearms. Pain instantly clouded your mind as you screamed.
“Come on Kirk! Come here, let’s have a talk!”
Few minutes went by and as soon as the alien behind you was ready to strike again you heard footsteps approaching. Bones and the others were finally in front of you.
“Len!” you shouted in pain.
His eyes went wide “Y/n!” he was already coming for you when Kirk stopped him, gripping his arm.
“Not so fast!” the creature behind you roared. His henchmen pointed their weapons at them immediately.
Leonard noticed your wound as blood slowly came out of it and his jaw clenched hard before giving a dreadful glare at the alien who was viciously holding you by your neck.
Kirk took a couple of steps forward “What do you want to talk about?”
“You came here to negotiate Kirk”
“We came here in peace and you took us as hostages!”
“You see, I’m not really fond of you Starfleet scum” he was dead serious now “You came to my planet to have control on it, you came here for war”
Kirk shook his head out of frustration “We wanted a peace treaty between the United Federation of Planets and you, not for war, we do not want any control on you. There can be advantages for both sides if we can talk this out”
The alien lifted his head and kept looking at the Captain as if he was pondering the idea.
During all the conversation between the Captain and the inhabitants, you shared a look with Leonard who looked at you with the most concerned eyes you ever saw on his face. You hoped that would end quickly and for the best. Darting your eyes to the side you noticed the captain holding something in his hand. His communicator?
“Very well” the creature said releasing the grip around your neck. Hesitantly you lifted off the floor as he gave you a push. Without thinking twice you sprinted towards Leonard as he and Jim both left out a sigh of relief.
Forgetting about the captain and the creature behind you, you put your arms around Bones’ neck “Len!”
“Y/n oh God” he hugged you so tightly you were unable to breathe for a moment “Are you ok? Your arm-” he then took your face in his hands to inspects it.
“Len, I’m ok” you covered his hands with yours as you smiled at him. That smile brightened up the entire room. Bones couldn’t hold back a smile himself. You were safe in his arms again.
Then suddenly, you jolted as you gasped unsteadily, your eyes wide. The smile on Leonard’s face disappeared and confusion took his place.
“SCOTTY NOW!” it wasn’t Leonard’s voice. It was Kirk’s. He was speaking through his communicator. You could hear lasers being fired as the room started to tremble and the roof fell down on the creatures, but you couldn’t focus on the fight because you felt a hot liquid soaking your uniform.
Bones saw your smile transform into a violent gasp, before seeing behind your shoulders the creature as he lowered his weapon with an evil grin on his face. Everything clicked. His eyes darted to you again as his heart started hammering in his chest.
“No, no, no, no, no”
Your knees gave up but he supported you with his strong arms.
While trying to support you he felt the blood staining his hand: you were hit between your shoulder blades. Carefully he sat down placing you in his lap, searching frenetically for medical supplies in his pockets, trying to stop the bleeding a little.
“L...Len”
“I’m here, sweetheart” he said putting pressure on your back. His usual steady voice was now weak and filled with fear.
“Scotty beam us up, now!” Kirk urged through his communicator.
“Don’t do this to me Y/N, please” with his free hand, Leonard stroke your hair. For the first time, you saw his eyes full of unshed tears, ready to spill out from his handsome hazel irises. Those irises you knew, you would never see again.
“I’m… I’m s-sorry” you whispered. You didn’t feel the tear falling down at the side of your face.
“Jim why are we not up yet? Where’s Scotty dammit?” Bones urged him.
“Just few seconds, Y/n hold on, just a little longer” the captain saw how distressed his friend was, but he couldn’t do anything besides waiting. Kirk searched his friend’s eyes and when he did, Bones shook lightly his head. There was nothing he could do to help you and it was an unbearable feeling.
“Len I… I...” breathing was hard and painful now “I hoped… we had more time”
Leonard couldn’t handle it anymore as he let his tears ran down his face.
“You will be okay, I’m gonna fix you up” he let out a shaky breath.
Hands and legs were completely cold now, and Bones knew it. The idea of being completely unable to do anything drove him mad.
“We have plans for tonight, do you remember? We have all those old songs to listen to”
You smiled “Can we... listen... to “Summer Wind”… again?”
“As many times as you want”
The color was fading away fast from your skin.
With all your strength you whispered “I… I… Love you” His heart ached in his chest.
“I love you too, I love you too” he lifted your head up kissing your forehead, his eyes closed as he cried silently.
Suddenly a light encircled you both, along with the others crew members, as you were beamed back to the Enterprise.
As soon as Leonard felt the energy fade away he looked at you again, in that moment your head fell into his arm, unmoving and your body was limp in his arms.
“Oh my God” he let out a shaky gasp. Being a doctor meant dealing with death almost everyday, but this. It was like daggers were being stuck in his heart.
The others stayed silent before heading out the room. Only Kirk stood there near his friend.
“No please, please”
He lifted your body up with a hand behind your head and kissed you one last time.
           ____________________________________________________
That night, Bones entered your… his quarters. He stood still for a moment unable to do anything, froze in his place. Your scent still lingered in the air. Your things, your dresses.
After few minutes he exhaled deeply and went to the counter. Clicking some buttons he put on your favorite song. The melody filled the room.
“Like painted kites, those days and nights they went flyin' by
The world was new beneath a blue umbrella sky
Then softer than a piper man, one day it called to you
I lost you, I lost you to the summer wind”
The song continued playing, muffling the sound of his painful cry.

Gap the Series finale thoughts and spoilers and feelings
Aaaaaaaaa, what an ending! Love it! There’s tears, laughter and drama. And a bit of a lecture. Lol
Mon slowly coming to the acceptance that break-up is imminent but cannot let go of the love she has for Sam. Watching the slow break up hurts so much. But goddamnit they did it in a beautiful way. Both at Sam’s house and also when she’s taking down The Sam Shrine.
Sam. I love you. I truly do. You are my blorbo, my sad little meow meow and my mess of a lesbian. But, for fuck sake, answer that damn phone! Or at least text back! Urgghhh (But I do understand why you’re being stupid right now and that is exactly why I love you)
I love The Gang. I truly do. All queers should have one group of friends like that. And they are so supportive of Mon it’s heartwarming. Their heart broke the same time as Mon’s does.
TeeYuki acknowledgement. Finally. And Tee, I love all your outfits. Why are you so handsome and dapper.
Neung oh Neung. Aside from Sam, you’re also an epitome of a traumatized child that still love their parents figure despite everything. I get you. I get you on so many levels.
Tee, stop trolling Jim. But don’t, actually. I love that you will troll and burn your friends mercilessly.
Kirk. Oh Kirk. Only NOW you realised it? Fuck you. I still hate you. You will never be redeemable in my eyes.
Evil Grandmother. Now upgraded to Disliked Grandmother.
Mon, how can you look so gorgeous while going through a heartbreak? Don’t believe Tee when she said you look awful.
It is true, Sam only bends her head and knees to 2 people. Grandma and Mon.
Disliked Grandmother, why does it needs 2 men to tell you about it before you believe about Sam’s happiness and stop controlling her life? Your 3 grandchildren have been telling you about it for years and years. The thing is, I totally understand where she is coming from. But damn it I still hate what she represents. Also, her relationship dynamics with Sam might hit too close to home.
Fuck, they both love each other so much.
Fuck. It’s the cheap jewelleries. She can’t let go. Sam still loves Mon so damn much.
I guess watching your grandchild slowly withering away is more sobering than suddenly receiving a phone call that another of your grandchild is in an accident, huh grandma? Still, I kinda get it, in a way. Song’s passing is sudden. And she did not know or have met Ice. In contrast, Sam’s withering away is slow and in front of her eyes. And she met Mon. And she has seen how Sam is when she’s with Mon. Also, Sam is her favourite grandchild, so it might be different.
Khun Phoom. A bit in-your-face-lecture there. I was expecting him to introduce Grandma to his boyfriend or something. Lol.
I understand why there is a need for the Khun Phoom character. Sometimes, people like grandma, that cares about status, what people say and what not, requires people that is on her level or higher to show and say those things before she can believe and accept it.
Grandma: just don’t be inappropriate in Public
Sam: proceeds to drive like a racecar driver, then becoming a road bully, then asking the love of her life to accept her back, at roadside mind you, and then proceeds to kiss her in full view of everyone that is driving on that stretch of the road (and any pedestrians if any)
Sam is wearing Pink!!!!
Sam, maybe you should start that convo with Mon by saying your wedding with Kirk is off. You really need to attend communication skills class.
Mon honey. Why don’t you ask Sam to follow you to England? But yeah I get it. I also did not apply to a job in Australia when my ex said it’ll be far from her so I can’t judge you there Mon.
Kirk and Khun Phoom 👀👀👀
(Alas, it is implied it’ll be Kirk + Kade)
Kade, honey. Kirk is The Guy you have been bashing with your friends. Please re-consider.
I love the song!!!!!
It is really the kind of ending that fits the overall mood of this series.
