The AO3 Demographics Survey 2024 has arrived!
This project is an independent survey (not affiliated with AO3) which seeks to research the demographics and behaviours of AO3 users. The survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete, will be open until 1 February, and can be found at https://forms.gle/2kt5J17ipzcAbnFY9
We are hoping to survey as large a group of users as possible, so we really appreciate anyone who shares the survey, whether by reblogging this post or sharing posts on other social media.
If you have any questions for us, we have FAQs on Tumblr or on AO3 which will be updated as the project progresses. And of course, you can follow us on Tumblr or AO3 if you want to see the survey results!

Its only the second day of the TAZ survey and theres already 70 answers! Thank you so much to all the people who did the survey, and another thanks to who reblogged the post about it!

As a thanks, here’s some interesting things I noticed so far on the survey
Balance is (unsuprisingly) listened too by 100% of the takers, but alot of people have also listened to Amnesty and graduation
Balance took so much of the ‘vote’ for Fav campaign,,.
Blupjeans was chosen as favorite ship by 50% of the takers
SO MANY PEOPLE CHOSE DUCK AS THEIR FAVORITE PC
Rainer is most answered for fav NPC. Not so suprising but i really thought we would get another snippers sweep like we did last year

Someone put Argo/Fitzroys mom as their favorite Grad ship.
Grad has the most varied ratings so far, almost every rating is picked at least once so far, while most other arcs tend to have only different 4-5 ratings answered
There. Is. So. Much. Variations. On. How. People. Spelled. Oksana’s/Kodira’s name. (Also credits to people who answered the actual ships)
Montrose got picked ALOT as favorite PC
Just like Oksana, theres lots of variations on how Schlatbetany (i dont know how to write her name) is spelled.
(Not posting all the answers on it but. So. many. people. have ‘blorbofied’ and ‘acted not-normal’ about Taako. Also Devo/Lup got answered alot.)
Also a lot of people are interested in seeing a space/sci-fi campaign!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh w... so saika is a hbtw dlc character semi-major antagonist in hbtw's second-third major plot arc (<-girl who is extremely still in the middle of restructuring this story's outline from the bottom up OTL partly to get this extremely self-indulgent 'mn on the same side in a military campaign' arc into the main plot. so a lot of this info is a wip still but), a good-hearted folk-hero type spearheading a small coalition of territories' fight against the tyranny of the izar empire, whose revolutionary efforts emery has been contracted basically as a mercenary by the empire to crush with extreme prejudice lol. saika's purpose as an opponent is mostly just for the sake of emy showing off (.. his Evil Tactics) but to the point of that post his main power source is a lightning magic seam that emy gets to cap the arc by taking for himself <3
his design also while i'm here ↓

is Mr Hankey x Randy a rarepair
Personally, I would say so! I’ve never seen art for it nor seen it featured in any fics. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen people even talking about it before. However, I admittedly am out of the loop of the part of the fandom that focuses more on the adults of SP. It’s part of why the ship survey doesn’t have any adult character ships. Which in turn means I don’t have any concrete data to back up my assumption that it is a rarepair.
So, while I would say yes, maybe someone who is more into that part of the fandom knows otherwise.

Seeing as tumblr closed their feedback survey pretty quickly, after I posted my answer to the open question that was on it, I thought it would be good to give other people a chance to have their say too. It isn't in an official capacity, but it's still better to say it somewhere than nowhere.
