SJM Villain Week Rules/FAQ

Welcome to SJM Villain Week taking place on the 1st - 7th of October to kick off the scariest month of the year.

In order to inspire creativity within the fandom, we are running a prompt submission form to collect your ideas for what the prompts should be for the event! Each day will have two prompts, as well as a free day on the seventh.

When the submission is opened, it will be linked here!

To help this event run smoothly, here are the rules to follow-

This event is about the big bad guys of the SJM universe, but that does not mean that hate will be accepted. Remember to be kind and respectful to everyone joining in on this event. Any kind of hate mail sent will be deleted and the user will be blocked, no questions asked.

Projection of harmful stereotypes will not be welcome. Any kind of portrayal of the villains is welcome, as long as everything is kept respectful, and it is clear that certain kinds of behavior are not justified.

All relationships and interpretations of sexualities are welcome! So long as your villain of choice is at the forefront of your content. No shipbashing is welcome. You are also of course welcome to create general and non-ship content!

No A.I content is permitted and therefore will not be reblogged.

NSFW and mature content is allowed, so long as everything is appropriately tagged. That means on Tumblr, their guidelines for NSFW images are followed, and on AO3, or other posting platforms, the work is sufficiently tagged and rated according to that sites rules.

As we are dealing with the villains of the story, it needs to be clear, graphic depictions of SA will not be reblogged.

Whilst we all have different headcanons, and interpretations of characters, these are some characters that are not villains, and content centering around them will not be reblogged or otherwise featured during this event-

How do I participate in this event?

Any kinds of participation are welcome! Whether that be headcanons, fanart, fanfiction, moodboards, playlists, edits, or anything else you come up with! Remember, any A.I content will not be reblogged.

Who is running this event?

This week-long event is being hosted by @hieragalbatorixdottir, @achaotichuman and @readychilledwine

What if I have a question about the event?

If you have any questions, please feel free to send an ask to the event account! We would love to hear all of your questions, headcanons, or any content you wish to share with us! If you want your ask to be answered privately please state that in the ask, otherwise all asks sent in will be published.

And please remember to not send any asks regarding the event account to our moderators. Please send them through the ask box of this account.

Do I have to stick to the prompts?

The prompts are there to help inspire creativity, that being said you do not have to stick to them. There will be two prompts for each day, you can use both, just one, or none at all! Whatever inspires you to create work! There will also be a free day where you can go utterly nuts and write whatever you want featuring our villains!

What can I do for SJM Villain Week if I am not a creator?

Any kind of interaction with the creators' making content is the best way to support them and encourage them leading up and during the event week! Consider liking, commenting and reblogging the content you see! This is the best way to let the creators know their content is appreciated.

Up to and during the event, we will be reblogging and sharing content made for our villains. If you have seen or have created works for our villains don't hesitate to share with us so we can reblog it!

ACOTAR Creators Rec List | 300 Followers Celebration Post!

I've recently reached 300 followers on tumblr, and to show my appreciation I wanted to create this list of some truly wonderful blogs that make the ACOTAR fandom a safe, happy space with their amazing content. They always bring a smile to my face so make sure to give them a follow if you don't already!

@separatist-apologist you already knew. MB is one of the most talented people I've ever had the honour to meet, an incredible writer and amazing person. A true pillar of this fandom whose stories are nothing short of a masterpiece. Her creativity is beyond words!

@the-lonelybarricade LB's writing makes my jaw drop every time. She is the sweetest, kindest and most supportive person you'll find on here, and her fics are a true work of art!

@abraxos-and-ataraxia is an incredibly skilled writer and the author of one of my favourite Elucien AUs to ever exist (read The Outlaw and the Desert Flower NOW). A beautiful person and a Vanserra enthusiast. What more could you want?

@gwynesta aka the author of my favourite Tamlin fic, directly responsible for turning me into a massive simp. The leader of the Tamlin x Briar ship and an amazing writer, as well as an artist!

@headcanonheadcase who writes Gwynriel like no one else, and her Elucien fics always bring tears to my eyes. Also keeps us VERY well fed with some absolutely beautiful commissions!

@azrielshadowssing is a wonderful writer and the organiser of the ACOTAR Writing Circle, a project which brought many fic writers together and resulted in some truly amazing work!

@moononastring's Elucien fics are some of the first ones I read when I was introduced to the ACOTAR world, and her writing made me fall head over heels in love with the characters and the ship. Gigi is incredibly talented and one of the sweetest people I know!

@moodymelanist writes some of the best AUs I've seen in this fandom, and her writing is just insanely good!

@fieldofdaiisies writes beautiful Elucien, and is one of the kindest people I've had the pleasure to meet since joining the fandom!

@cascadingmoon is a true ray of sunshine in this fandom, from her incredible headcanons to bringing our favourite characters to life with her beautiful commissions!

@ladyelain fills the fandom with more positivity than anyone else, and her headcanons always make me smile!

@bookofmirth is an incredible writer and one of the most supportive people I've ever met! Her talent is beyond measure, and she always keeps this fandom a safe, positive space!

@ahrene brings so much positivity into the Elucien ship, and their headcanons and observations are some of my absolute favourite!

@iambutmortal writes some of the best ACOTAR fics I've ever had the pleasure to read, her talent is just incredible!

@hlizr50 writes beautiful Gwynriel, and it is absolutely mesmerising!

@arrowmusings's writing is just beautiful, their Feysand fics are truly amazing!

@tired-potter is an incredibly skilled writer, I am obsessed with their creativity!

@amandapearls blesses this fandom with some of the most beautiful commissions I've ever seen, and brings so much positivity to the fandom!

Tamlin Creator Appreciation: ashintheairlikesnow

Today's creator is @ashintheairlikesnow, an absolutely phenomenal writer we love to shower love on every Tamlin Week! Their Tamlin/Rhysand fic A Court of Lies and Resurrection is many people's first introduction to the ship, and is often the reason that people get into tamsand in the first place. It's so amazing and well-written that multiple people have had it bound into a physical book.

Summary of A Court of Lies and Resurrection:

 Feyre is dead, torn apart by Amarantha when Tamlin did not send her away in time. Tamlin, forced to submit to Amarantha's terms, finds himself looking for help (and finding affection) in places he never expected, while Lucien allies with an ancient enemy (and one of Rhys's closest friends) to save him.

"They wrote the Tamsand fic that dargged me all the way into this fairy hell and so deserve all the credit and appreciation. Amazing writer!"

Today's creator appreciation shoutout goes to @achaotichuman, for their amazing Tamlin fics! We especially want to point out A Court of Song and Desolation, a Tamlin/Lucien epic that takes place after the events of the books.

Summary for A Court of Song and Desolation:

Today's Tamlin creator we want to appreciate is @northern-star-polaris! They write Tamlin fics on tumblr that are always an interesting and heartbreaking take on our favorite sadboy himbo. A particular favorite is Memento Mori, a fic where Andras's ghost is keeping Tamlin company in the ruins of his manor.

Tamlin Creator Appreciation: Shi-Daisy

The first Tamlin creator we want to give a shout out to is @shi-daisy, a fanfic author who goes by Shi_Daisy on AO3. They recently completed a magnificent Tamlin/Lucien fic A Court of Threads and Daisies, which is an immersive continuation of the series full of drama, tragedy, romance, and a cast of amazing OCs.

Summary for A Court of Threads and Daisies:

Tragedy almost struck the Spring Court when Tamlin Evergreen tried to take his own life. Lucien Vanserra manages to save his former Lord, but not his power. Now that the Spring Court has a new High Lord and the horrors of war are behind them, both Tamlin and Lucien agree to help the new heir navigate court life and attempt to rebuild the broken Spring Court, along with healing themselves. They weren't expecting to fall back in love in the process.

"I love everything about their story, A Court of Threads & Daises, from the writing the style to the way they’ve captured Tamlin and Lucien’s characters. I have fallen in love with the OCs they include in the story. Everytime they post I am rushing to go read it. I love everything about their work!
