hey, what's up. i hope August has been kind to y'all. 🖤

thank you to those who've continued to tag me in their wipsday posts these last couple weeks. i'm in pretty rough shape these days, so y'all have no idea how much i look forward to sundays and wednesdays, even when i don't have the energy to engage with fandom as fully as i'd like to.

i thought i'd share a bit more of the chat-fic i affectionately refer to as "bitverse" today. 💫 i've shared two other snippets from this fic before, [here] and [here] if you're curious.

Agatha doesn’t text him until quarter-to midnight. “Home safe,” she says. And then, “Sorry.” And, “We went out for supper.” Simon slouches in his chair, wedging a knee into the space between his stomach and his desk, the edge digging into his shin. It’s sharp and tight and not at all comfortable. He texts back, “it’s ok,” and, “where at?” “That Italian place downtown.” “ew,” he says, and she reacts to it with a thumbs-up. “Did I wake you?” she asks. “no,” he says. Then, “DQ tmrw?” Agatha reads his message, but doesn’t respond right away. The three dots pulse on her side of the screen for three strange, awkwardly long minutes before she finally replies with, “Maybe,” followed quickly by, “Ask again in the morning, I can’t think about ice cream when I’m tired.” “are you going to bed?” “Yeah, sorry.” “it’s ok,” he says, “it’s late. night aggie” “Night.” “ily,” he says. She reacts to that with a thumbs-up, too. Simon locks his phone and drops it on his chest.

i’ll start off with a basic summary of what i got from the cards (i’m so happy you picked this deck, she really is the best). first off, don’t be worried by the reversals; i like to think of them merely as little caution signs and guides to the virtue that is found (usually) with the upright. now that that’s out of the way: the four of pentacles. in the image, a woman is balancing perfectly on the pentacles and is comfortable enough to be snuggling with the rest. so this leaves the takeaway of stability and security. something that would thwart those senses (hence the reversal), would be greed or mistrust; just think, if she were to try to reach for something out of avarice, it would throw off her balance. the king of pentacles represents power and strength; so the reversal would hearken a sense of instability or suppression. i’d like to stop and draw your attention quickly to the warnings between the upright four of pentacles and reversed king of pentacles: they both have control as a meaning, but these similarities are meant as a caution to know the boundary between a lax control or a control freak. and finally, the four of wands. the wands explore our character and our deepest self! the four means union and celebration.

so in summary, there are a few main points that i would like to make. first being that the pentacles correspond to earth signs, so please take that advice about knowing the boundary of control to heart (being a taurus myself, i understand that it’s extremely difficult). but i think that setting an expectation on marrying a certain type of person might be damaging to future relationships. i think that’s the sense that the pentacle cards were trying to convey in this reading, that it’s super important to maintain a healthy balance of tame expectations and a sense of trust in the universe. so that being said, once someone comes along, you’ll have the clear headspace to make wise decisions!

however, with nanami, you two are absolutely compatible; so if you ever find a cancer or other water sign person, hop on! as for when that type of person will saunter on into your life, i can’t tell you, sweets. but i will say that patience is a virtue and the universe is a very mysterious place:)

hmmm this is a tricky one 🤔 i don't want to be that Main Character ass bitch who's like "i'm Jude lmao" but Jude is without a doubt the character i relate to most in the series.

i think it would be fun to play Nicasia, if only for the opportunity to be deliciously wicked, but i don't think i'm pretty enough for that role (and this is not a "fishing for compliments" kind of answer, i just genuinely don't think i'm conventionally attractive enough to be regarded as "ethereal" or "magnificent" and i'm totally fine with that).

Second I saw an anon send you a music rec for Ben Platt and let me tell you Ease my Mind has Druig written ALL over it!! I see it two ways one where like druig overhears you singing it and then asks you to play it for him and literally just melts when you tell him it’s true and/or he plays it for you because him take a break in your head after a stressful day because peoples thoughts are loud.😫❤️ I swoon literally every time I hear this song.

I don’t know what you’re particular flavor of music is but if you like classic r and b I definitely recommend Sam Cooke he is such a good singer and I circle back to him anytime I need a break from the world. His voice is so smooth and it is just like a reset for me. I recommend These Foolish Things and Nothing can Change this Love and Twilight on the Trail. They’re very relaxing for me.

ahhhh omg this is so tough 😅🙈 considering there aren't really that many options for characters in TFOTA who aren't either 1) terrible or 2) family, i'm not really sure how to answer this.

her options are basically: roach, ghost, bomb, nicasia, fand, heather, and dulcamara.

nicasia is still kinda terrible and i ship her with taryn so that's a no. canonically speaking, roach, bomb, and heather are all taken. which leaves ghost, fand, and dulcamara. and honestly, i don't see romantic chemistry in any of those relationships.

hi babes! ahhh this was such a lovely question to read over my morning coffee 🥺❤️❤️ i honestly didn't think anyone read that page and i'm flattered that you have!

here are the basic synopses for my original WIPs:

The Star Thieves- this one is a Middle Grade sci-fi about a girl named Sapphire who, with the help of her friends, sets out on a perilous journey into the far reaches of the universe to steal a galaxy. main themes are friendship, found family, and shy girls in STEM who end up saving the world. main inspirations are Treasure Planet and Stranger Things.

In the Quiet of the Forest- this one is a YA fantasy about a girl named Grier who, in an attempt to save her sister from a sinister fate, ventures into a pocket realm of nightmares and magic where she is mistaken for the kingdom's princess. fearing the worst sort of punishment should her true identity be discovered, Grier plays the role thrust upon her while doing everything in her power to find her sister and a way out.

I’m sorry if you’re sick of this question but what’s the tentative date for fine line😭😭😭

hi babes! sorry it took a while to get back to you on this, my social energies are low atm 🥴✌️

i don't give dates of publication for anything i write. i know this can be frustrating, and you guys have been waiting so patiently for this next part ❤️ but the reason for this is i have ADHD, which means i have a really warped concept of how time works (i.e. it doesn't make sense to me, i overestimate/underestimate A LOT, etc.)

the last thing i want is to get your hopes up, because if your hopes are up for a timeframe and i fail to produce The Thing by said day, i'm going to feel like i've failed as a writer. this has nothing to do with whether or not i'm actually a failure for not posting a fic on time (i'm not), or whether y'all percieve me that way (i know the bulk of you would never), and everything to do with the way i percieve myself. it's guilt and frustration and feeling like something's wrong with me for not being able to produce content in an efficient manner—overall pretty shitty feelings that are not exactly conducive to ya know.... actually finishing The Thing.

so i probably won't ever be able to give you estimated posting dates. what i can give you are:

word count updates: if you ask me for a word count update on any one of my WIPs i'd be happy to let you know where i'm at with it!

answers to questions you might have about the fic: i love chatting with y'all! and hearing from you about scenes that resonated/questions you have ab certain scenes actually gets me thinking ab the fic too. which makes me excited to write. which in turn, makes me actually write. it's a win-win.

behind the scenes things: i have playlists, pinterest boards, and side blogs dedicated to my wips. i also have a wall full of sticky notes and a notebook where i sketch and scheme. so if you're interested in how i imagine cardan and jude's apartment to look, or how i plot things in general, i'm happy to share those with you.
