Vaggie becoming an accidental overlord is giving fae vibes but in reverse. Like sinners wording shit before the handshake in a way that Vaggie now has their soul. All the other overlords think she’s just faking not knowing how many souls she actually has meanwhile Vaggie is having a crisis thinking she somehow fucked up and “tricked” the sinners.

Yesss, "call on me anytime you need a favor" Vaggie doesn't realize by them saying that though they are giving her their souls until their 'favor' is completed, and afterwards they'll be 'free' (though not everyone she trains does it, obviously)

So she jsut thinks it's a weird thing but doesn't think twice about it....until she's called to the overlord meeting, at first she thinks it's for Charlie but it's not. It's for HER, and Al makes sure to tell her this on the way there

She isn't even sure how to check how many souls she owns- not that she knew she owned any in the first place!! Whe jsut thought all those surges in power were from her angle magic adapting to hells environment!!

I can imagine Carmilla having a one-sided rivalry with Vaggie. I can also imagine that Vaggie is far more skilled at fighting in hells environment because now she actually has experience fighting with sinners via sparing, unlike in canon. So when her and carmilla do fight she doesn't get her ass kicked(as much) here

picking maglor, and i'm sure you're all very surprised by that😂

maglor wields a sword in either hand with equal efficacy. i've explained this hc before but i can't find the post (tumblr is being The Most Functional Website again). essentially, maglor did the right thing by his people when he didn't try for a rescue of maedhros three kings in two years, but he couldn't quite forgive himself for it anyway. so when maedhros started learning how to fight again maglor turned up with his sword in his left hand so they could learn at the same time. sort of half apology, half getting to know each other anew

also, the best mounted archer of his siblings! this is mostly down to practice practice practice, because he's out on the plains on the front lines of the leaguer and using that skill constantly. celegorm is very nearly as good, but he cut his teeth in the hunt on wild animals, and maglor cut his teeth on the march shooting at things that shot back. (and he's just a little better a rider besides)

bonus not-maglor headcanon: caranthir pioneers net fighting with a spear. thargelion doesn't really need, or have, tridents like the falathrim use for both fishing and fighting, there's nothing big enough to warrant them. but fishing spears are pretty common near helevorn. i think he maybe got caught out without a sword once, found out that fighting w a net + spear suited him a lot better, and left his sword to gather dust unless he knew he's be fighting in close quarters

6. My favorite character

I regret to say that. Vyce is maybe possibly my favorite. Cerya is definitely a close second but there is something wrong with my brain and whenever I see a character make absolutely undeniably horrible decisions many times in a row I get heart eyes. I just think he's neat!!! And his whole terrible relationship with Denam compels me. Whatever those guys have going on is insane and also really funny <3

Honorable mention to all the Phoraena sisters though, I'm really enjoying how often they get to interact + how their stories build on each other. I cannot remember how far I've gotten in posting my little screenshots yet, but I did get to recruit Sherri a while ago and got that scene where Olivya and Denam kinda talk her down. It's really fun to see the four of them comfort/interact with/argue with each other with everything that's going on--I feel like it's uncommon to see sibling dynamics with more than two siblings let alone four, so it's fun to see tactics ogre tackle that

19. Favorite headcanon

Speaking of the phoraena sisters!!!! Ever since I picked up Sherri my brain's been trying to piece together how exactly all of them would interact with each other so now I've got this fun convoluted little web which I'm now going to inflict upon the world.

Mostly my take is that I think Cerya + Cistina have really similar personalities (really opinionated + stubborn) while Sherri + Olivya are really similar in a different way (more laid-back, tend to be more passive-aggressive than outright aggressive), and that Cerya + Sherri / Cistina + Olivya would tend to be a little more fond of each other just because they're closer in age.

I also think if they were going to have a vote of "sister most likely to defect to the Bakram army and try to kidnap our dad" it probably would have been in order: Cistina, Cerya, Sherri, Olivya, so it would have been pretty out there when Sherri was the one to go nuts after their mom died. "Most likely to start her own rebel army" was definitely Cerya though. 100% all of them saw that coming and actively made plans around it

Elusive Finnish billionaire Eerik Holmen might be the most secretive person on the planet. Operating exclusively from a chain of remote islands, owned by shell companies, you'd need to call in thirty favors just to find someone who knows someone who knows rumors about the possible location of one of them. And don't even think about trying to get an invitation to his revered annual masquerade ball - an event with tighter security than a presidental inauguration. 

Good thing I don't need one.

Thirty favors are not an easy thing to accumulate so I'm careful. The guests are just beginning to arrive, so the security does not pay that much attention to the skies, and before anyone knows it, camouflage glider retracted into my catsuit, I'm making my way through halls of invisible lasers, conveniently glitching cameras and an actual pit trap. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it. Great cardio. And while you're at it, you'd be wise to install remotely activated bombs in the walls. It might help later.

One thing spy movies don't get right? You know that part where the protagonist lifts the diamond and quickly manages to put something of a similar weight in its place as to avoid activating the alarm? Yeah, that doesn't happen. The truth is, there's no way to avoid the alarm. You just gotta avoid the walls of the trap room it's inevitably placed in that shoot out to crush you in under 0.3 seconds. Good thing I don't go out without my trusty titanium grappling hook. And now, of course, the alarm is blaring and the whole shithole is going into lockdown. So, I run. I don't go far, there's armed security everywhere. Of course, the guns mean nothing if you get the jump on them. You don't need to deal with them all, obviously, but you do need to get to a safe room where you apply your cosmetic modifications, transform your catsuit into a short black dress, and slip inside the panicking crowd. These rich people value their lives a lot for some reason.

The diamond is not on my person, obviously. Hidden in plain sight, the many trackers on it can discern its general location but they have no clue on which floor it is and no one expects it to be in the majestic indoor fountain boasting a statue of Poseidon in the middle. My earring begins beeping, indicating my ride is here. Final part of the plan. Not even after three beeps, a series of explosions shakes up the building and smoke and ashes fill the room. Panic, screams, hell, even a gunshot rings out but that's of no importance. The fountain water has already disabled half of the trackers on the diamond but no signal can get to the contents of the handbag in my hand, lined on the inside with pure silver. The screams of the guests and the further explosions make it very easy for me to slip out of a newly made hole in the wall. Jungle ain't fun to run through but the second I'm in the ocean, I've made it. Now to find the camouflaged submarine that has been waiting here for four months.

28. Does anyone read your fics before you post them? If so, who?

Sometimes! Sometimes it’s just me, posting after rereading it a bajillion times because I want to get it into the world, but sometimes I do have someone beta for me (or just send it to someone because I’m excited about the fic, but it’s not done, and I want to share my excitement with someone). Having someone read before I finalize and post is also helpful when I’m concerned about whether something is coming off the way I want it to, or if I’m writing for an exchange or for a challenge and want to make sure I’m meeting the challenge, or when I’m a little stuck, or when I’ve just read something too many times and need a fresh perspective. I’ve worked with a number of different folks, but @otterandterrier and @organanation are the folks who most frequently read over things for me and give their excellent feedback.

29. What songs would be (or are) on a playlist for “See if you can work me the way you say”? Explain your choices if you want!

Oh, I love a song-related question! The obvious choice for this fic’s playlist would be “Promiscuous” by Nelly Furtado, as that’s the song that inspired the title of this fic. Other songs I’d add to a playlist for this fic:

“Secret,” Madonna

“Get Back,” Britney Spears

The thing I think these four songs have in common is a sense of a woman being up front about what she wants from this encounter, sort of challenging her suitor to keep up, and that confidence making it especially hot, which is where Leia is when she approaches Han in this fic. “Fever” also implies that she’s been changed a bit herself, or that it’s bringing up feelings she maybe hadn’t bargained for when they started.

thoughts on William/Mey-Rin as a crack ship/rare pair?

anon, your mind.... I just rediscovered this ask from like February, and while I have to say it would take some monumental effort on my part to genuinely feel it, I do think they'd look VERY good together. I think Will genuinely would find Mey Rin interesting for the same reasons he finds Grell interesting: why is this crazy person so bad at doing things normally??? Plus he's clearly the type of guy to be one half of a battle spouse equation, and Mey Rin checks that box. Mey Rin would like Will for OBVIOUS TALL DARK AND HANDSOME reasons, but I think Will would be a better fit than like, Sebastian, because Will is not unkind and would probably genuinely be patient to a certain extent with Mey Rin's inability to person. I don't typically have time in either scenario to appreciate a golden morning or a peachy sunset, but I would prefer a sunset, as that would likely mean I got done work early.

3: Do you wear scarves often? do you have a favorite?

I'll wear one every time I have to go outside in winter. I have a nice green one that is very thick and warm.

5: Is there a food you’ve never had but always wanted to try?

Nothing really specific that comes to mind. I'm willing to try anything at least once though.

8: Rain storms or a light drizzle?

Light drizzle. Storms are a hassle to work in.

9: What’s a little thing in life that you love? 

... Silence. The moments where things are quiet are very nice.

10: Favorite color aesthetic?

I'm perfectly okay with black and white. There is a certain charm to black and white films, I would say.

13: Do you have any candles? what scents are they?

I have some in case of power outages, mostly. They're rather plain scented, mostly wood scents, though I do have a tea scented one that I will occasionally light for pleasure.

16: What’s a language you’d like to speak?

Well I speak French as well as English. I suppose German would be good, since I've worked with their Dispatch before.

17: What’s your favorite season and favorite month in that season?

I would say... my favorite season is probably spring. I don't really get on with winter or summer. And for my favorite month in that season? I suppose May. That's when it starts to get warmer but not too warm, and taking my birds outside is quite nice.

18: Do you have a favorite pair of socks?

Not particularly.

23: Would you fill your house with plants if you had a green thumb?

If I had a green thumb and more free time, I would probably have more plants in my house. As it is, I don't have the time to care for any plants. I'm lucky enough to have the time for my birds, since I trained them to be useful at work.

Um... I do think orchids are rather lovely.

26: What would you do if someone gave you flowers? 

I would thank them and do my best to look after them, but be prepared to fertilize them rather quickly...

Yes actually. It's a rather soothing sound.

I don't... have a lot of decor, really. I keep most things practical, of course. Though, I do have a rather nice painting I found. It's of a clear day in a lavender field. I don't entirely know why I like it so much, but I do.

Well, I usually hear pigeons inside my doors.

46: Thoughts on spring? 

Best season. No freezing ice or sweltering heat. Extra rain isn't great, but it's still a nice time to spend outside if I get the chance.

Anywhere between 12 and 20 degrees Celsius is best tolerated.

Partly cloudy is what is most usual here, so for consistency's sake, partly cloudy. But for convenience's sake, clear skies.
