The painting before you is of two lovers in a desperate kiss. You had wandered away in the museum and now you couldn’t explain why this specific painting caused you to pause.

“Rather beautiful to witness such a love like this, yes?”

A smooth twang voice floats out. Softly walking towards you is a gorgeous man dressed in an almost academic style. However, the blonde streak in his hair is rather interesting, a type of chaotic clash that seems to fit him. His eyes twinkle like the stars are in them.

It feels like a name is on the tip of your tongue, like seeing someone in public that you think you remember but aren’t sure.

“Mind if I pick at your thoughts on this lovely piece?” The strange nudges towards the painting.

And as you talk about the shades of color and the emotions conveyed, a strange combination fills your heart. It aches but also soars in your chest - as if it’s finally reuniting with a piece you didn’t know was missing.

Seattle Kraken!!! First team I ever watched and I got sucked right into their delightful and slightly damp vibes! Soon to be first team I ever see in person and I'm so fucking excited. Narrowly followed by my hometown Pittsburgh Old Mans whomst I am retroactively filled with nostalgia for and who I will be getting to see a bit later this year if things go to plan.

💌 your favorite goalie?

God, like, almost all of them?? I love Joey and Grubi endlessly even though Joey is averaging about 3 heart attacks per game for me, and Fluery I will never tire of, I think he's genuinely such a fun person and stand-up guy. Juuse Saros, Jake Oettinger, and the Swaymark duo are also up there on the list.

🔟what would be your jersey number?

Either 29 or 11. 29 is my birthday and a lot of very cool players share that number, and 11 is my lucky number.

👯🏻‍♂️what team would you love to play for?

In the made up universe in my head where I can actually stop on skates without becoming a bug on the windshield of the boards, I am saving the Pittsburgh Penguins from themselves. Tbh, I would want to be a goalie despite never having accomplished more than a 90 degree angle flexibility.

❤️‍🔥who is your favorite player currently?

Ohhh I'm very partial to Brandon Tanev, although I've got a soft-spot for all the former-Pens on the Kraken. I follow him on Instagram and he posts like an old man, it's very charming.

👀a trade that hurt you emotionally?

I have not really had skin in the game long enough to have been hurt by a trade. Thankfully none of the guys the Kraken lost in FA were ones I was super attached to, but I'm sure this year's offseason will be a horrible experience.

In a different vein, I do feel a sadness at the Bergeron retirement that's like, regret I came in at the very last exhale of his career. I wish I had gotten into hockey sooner so I could've really seen him play.

Very good!! I originally posted my stuff here because my stuff was like invisible on Twitter Since then I've gotten some traction on twitter but LET ME TELL YOU, there are HATERS on twitter who are not afraid to tell you to your face. There are haters here too but you're much funnier about it. The community has been really great so far!!

outside of the potc + dragons fic (which is going to languish a bit while i figure out the plot), the other major project i'm nursing is a...let's say ambitious ff7 cloud/aerith fic where aerith uses the lifestream to explore different iterations of her journey, and learn about how to save the world, her friends, and also herself a little bit.

it's like 9 aus in one, and WAY out of my comfort zone. but i suppose if i'm gonna eat my writing veggies it might as well be with my favs doing self-indulgent shit in a canonical multiverse of square's making. writing this cast is a healing experience regardless of what's going on around them.

Hello author ! I hope you're doing well ! Since it's quite cold where I'm living, I had a thought : are the ros the kind of persons to snowball fight ? Are they good at it ?

It just snowed last week where I live, and it got me thinking about this ask again, so here you go! :)

Leo was absolutely terrorized by their older siblings throughout their childhood; they always enjoy a snowball fight with their friends and family, and they are frighteningly good at it. They do have a soft spot for their younger siblings and Seer, though, and there have been times when that group teams up to take them down.

Eli is an unwilling participant, but they don’t go down easy. They could melt the entire area if they wanted to, but it is more fun to get a few shots in at Warren and Leo before they start to melt anything that comes within range. Then Warren likes to see how much he can pelt at them before he gets a hit.

Warren loves a good snowball fight and will often be the first one to initiate it. Wyatt loves playing with him because he doesn’t hold back as much as Leo and Eli would, which often results in Leo taking Warren down fairly quickly. He finds it hilarious, though, and even Leo grins as they pack the next snowball together.

Fin enjoys a good snowball fight, but they enjoy the surprise much better. They will spend their entire day trying to sneak up and aim a snowball at the Naturalist’s back, with fair results. You can best believe they will throw a snowball at the Seer and laugh when it makes contact; it’s far easier when your target can’t sense your adrenaline rushing through your veins.

Ambrose used to love the snowball fights he had with his sister when they were young. Now, it’s a little harder to get him to loosen up and enjoy himself, but he still has the same terrible skills that let his sister win all the time as kids.

Luna hates the cold, and she hates being pelted with snowballs just as much. She will always take the chance to pack one together and throw it at the back of Warren’s head, though. She has impeccable aim, but not as much endurance as her preferred targets...

Jules also hates the cold, and prefers to be wearing a wool coat and watching from the sidelines. They will jump in to help the losing side, though, and that’s when the game takes a turn for war. He likes to stay warm and dry, but he likes the look of shock and outrage he gets when he joins just as much.

Hazel loves the snow, and she loves snowball fights just as much. She doesn’t get cold or tired easily, and she’s often the last one standing in the wake of chaos. She isn’t the best when it comes to aim, and sometimes her snowballs fall apart midair, but she still loves it.

Faye prefers other snowsports, like sledding or skating, but she doesn’t argue when it comes to snowball fights. She just picks up a pile of snow, and it’s every man for themselves. She doesn’t hold back on anyone, though she often makes an alliance with someone and they become a strong opponent duo.

Bonus: In a fight out of all of them, I think it would be a very close match between Leo, Hazel, and Jules. Depending on who was involved, it could easily go to any of them.

is there any fact about your ocs that may never come up that you're absolutely dying to share? i find myself in this position a lot w ttrpg characters so i figured i'd ask 👀

i am so sorry it's taken me so long to reply to this life is wack and i am always forgetting how bad i am at answering asks 😔

jill and i did come up with how their half-orc barbarian and my tiefling ranger met and became platonic soul mates in the bg3 campaign we're in with jill's husband and another mutual friend of ours, but for obvious reasons the finer points of our backstories haven't really come up and i doubt they ever will, so:

wilderness, my tiefling ranger, is very much not a people-person and has always preferred the company of animals to the company of people, but she decided she liked thargomindah (affectionately known by our party as tharg) when he rescued one of her ranger companions, a bear named sweet tooth, from a trap. wilderness and tharg have traveled together ever since, and tharg has a special bond with sweet tooth, too, not just because he rescued her but also because the two of them can roughhouse and brawl without worrying about hurting each other.

and relatedly: tharg is the only person wilderness allows to shorten her name to just "ness."
