i have literally nowhere else to put this i apologise for the spam. the absolute best thing to come out of s3 trent is without a doubt the fucking earnestness... like in s1-2 he always came across as a very self-assured kind of guy, who knew how he came off (ie: intimidating) and enjoyed it. but seeing that paired with him being silly + completely relaxing in certain company??? pulling ridiculous faces at vodka + scrunching up his nose when he smiles @ colin + making the most ABSURD 'i really wanna say something right now but i feel like im interrupting' noises ive ever heard in my fucking LIFE??? its like. he is cool as shit and he is self assured AND he can make dumb fucking sherlock holmes jokes and dance ridiculously. its like!!!! he's lame but he's also not bc he's exactly as confident in being lame as he is being cool. do u see the vision. he has killed the part of him that cringes!!!! its just.. that unshakeable self confidence that u see in his fucking swaggers into frame includes all of himself + his different moods and eccentricities and that's just so based to me idk. unironically live ur best life wear the loudest combination of prints and patterns and primary colours uve ever seen in ur life while espousing the virtues of extended museum hours!!! contain multitudes! get silly with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#ted lasso spoilers#combined with james lance's hc abt trent's past its just. like!!#the growth from 'i can't be what you want me to be so im going to be Better than them + tear them down'#-> 'i know my reputation so im going to lean into that + be ruthless + intimidating' ->#'actually fuck this? fuck this! im just gonna be me and if anyone has a problem w then L To Them I'm Actually Living'#also this is just my hcs at this point but like. i do think ted helped a lot w the latter part of this process in so much as. ted embodied#someone who was Visibly weak + vulnerable and had no armour/no sense of self preservation#(the opposite of trent's persona) and made no effort to change anything abt himself to prevent attack. obviously ted has a lot of social +#class advantages that make that less risky for him than it would be for others but like. u get the drift#and i THINK. seeing how without that armour/facade ted was able to be rlly direct + earnest w connecting w ppl#like asking an interviewer 'what do u love?' and rlly genuinely wanting to know the answer#and bc TRENT was specifically in the position of 'i could fucking destroy u rn and u wouldn't put up a fight'#that kind of. shifted his perspective a bit? like. damn what would that say abt me if i wrote a hit piece on this guy rn#i disagree VERY strongly w the idea that trent's more positive character development moments happened ONLY bc of ted (i don't think that's#true for anyone in the show tbh) BUT i think ted's presence at a pivotal point in his life was what helped him confront the fact that#at this stage in his life all his intellectual armour was doing was making him into someone Mean rather than just incisive#like. 'is this a fucking joke' is not cutting journalism. u get me??#and arguably that's a fine and even safe choice to make when ur younger and have no support/reputation backing u up#but after decades? its like man wtf are we doign here if were literally just living preventatively#smth smth i hope i am not just a tumblr blog to u but a blog who is inventing the brain chemistry of a sitcom side character#w each new episode they watch. trent crimm is my best friend irl i know he would have scorching hot takes abt each new season of survivor#and would earnestly heckle the jury and final 3 alike

The sentence about rafe being a aggressive and territorial natural protector changed my brain chemistry, that's for one
And second going off of that ask, I think JJ would actually loose a bit of his left sanity when Rafe mentioned your pretty pink bed :/ Bc how would a fucking sleazebag know how your bed looks like??
And imagine that Rafe mocked him cruelly when he had him, saying that JJ only wants your pussy and Rafe would be like 'yeah? 'S what you want damn Pogue? Pretty kook girl pussy and not those dragged out, dirty Cut holes? Bet ya would, 'n she sound sooo pretty too' and Rafe would move his hips slightly and imitate high moans and JJ is fighting even harder because what the fuck?? How would Rafe ever know this?? You so sweet and kind, nowhere near a beast like him :((
RAFE IMITATING THE MOANS AND MOVING HIS HIPS?????? my life has been changed forever . jesus christ
Tumblr media
look at him he’s so smug omfg

would you be willing to rec your favourite fics with the low kudo stats you just talked about? would love to be the one to add one more kudo to the tally!
yeah for sure!
even a Mouse by @ficster-28 - 19.7k, T, no pairings
Charles was fifteen when his dæmon settled. It was a perfectly average age to settle, and it happened so quietly and naturally that neither he nor Moira even noticed at first. They had other things to think about: today, they were aiming to beat out Ben Barnicoat and Max Verstappen at Val d’Argenton. It wasn’t until they were getting into the kart that they realised. Moira normally transformed into an insect to race, something small enough that she could crawl inside Charles’s race suit and be protected as he drove. Today, she didn’t even try to change; they both just looked at each other, and knew. “A mouse,” he said.
I don't even know where to start with this fic. It is by far my favourite F1 fic and is probably actually one of my favourite pieces of literature I have consumed. The whole fic is basically an exploration of sacrifice in motorsport in the form of a Dæmon AU. I read this early on when I was only reading Max/Charles stuff (you may recognise this author from their brilliant Lestappen fic in translation which ALSO haunts me, especially as a francophone) so I was a bit hesitant at first and it was only my love for His Dark Materials (dæmon AUs source material) that made me click on it. I have never been more glad. Please just take a leap of faith and read this.
melepathic. or something. by Anonymous - 8.5k, M, Lando/Oscar
It starts in Miami. It probably shouldn’t — Miami is far from amazing. Oscar’s brake issues and battery harvesting are laid out in the debrief like a wet sock. Lando doesn’t have much to add. What would he even say? The car was too slow. No shit. Anyway, it probably would’ve made more sense in Baku. Baku wasn’t bad. But it happened in Miami. Maybe because it wasn’t good, regression to a mean and all that as Jon likes to say. They filmed their final goodbyes for UNBOXED, had hot cocoa (Oscar) and a strawberry protein shake (Lando) in the canteen to put something of a bandage on the weekend. Oscar licked foam cream off from around his mouth. Lando found himself following the movement. Thing is, NDAs suck. They’re annoying, they’re nitpicky. If he’s in the mood and he has to go out, find someone, then whip out a biro and a legal threat, it kind of sucks. And not the good kind of sucking.
I'm pretty sure I've been insane about this fic on this blog before, but it's just such pitch-perfect characterisation of both Oscar and Lando that bleeds through perfectly into the prose as well, not just the dialogue. As a result, the end product is SO MUCH FUN even if the fic itself is kind of half crisis half FWB. It's a masterclass in characterisation and writing style, and I really wish there was more by this author to consume. It is THE best landoscar fic out there, and I think will be really difficult to top.
all that blood was never once beautiful by actparci (@sunshineyoujustwait) - 1.4k, T, Charles/Max
There are moments when Max gets it. He remembers Charles illuminated against the Monza sunshine, tall and proud, looking out over a sea of red. A king surveying his kingdom. a.k.a Max loves Charles, Charles loves Ferrari, Max struggles with the latter
A perfectly crafted character study of BOTH Charles and Max's characters that changed my brain chemistry in less than 2k words is all I have to say about this one. It's short, if you're Lestappen inclined there is no excuse to not have read this, the prose is GORGEOUS and the imagery is something else, and I'm always a fan of the Inherent Catholicism of Driving for Ferrari.

In Vogue’s 1969 Christmas issue, Vladimir Nabokov offered some advice for teaching James Joyce’s “Ulysses”: “Instead of perpetuating the pretentious nonsense of Homeric, chromatic, and visceral chapter headings, instructors should prepare maps of Dublin with Bloom’s and Stephen’s intertwining itineraries clearly traced.” He drew a charming one himself. Several decades later, a Boston College English professor named Joseph Nugent and his colleagues put together an annotated Google map that shadows Stephen Dedalus and Leopold Bloom step by step. The Virginia Woolf Society of Great Britain, as well as students at the Georgia Institute of Technology, have similarly reconstructed the paths of the London amblers in “Mrs. Dalloway.”
Such maps clarify how much these novels depend on a curious link between mind and feet. Joyce and Woolf were writers who transformed the quicksilver of consciousness into paper and ink. To accomplish this, they sent characters on walks about town. As Mrs. Dalloway walks, she does not merely perceive the city around her. Rather, she dips in and out of her past, remolding London into a highly textured mental landscape, “making it up, building it round one, tumbling it, creating it every moment afresh.”
Since at least the time of peripatetic Greek philosophers, many other writers have discovered a deep, intuitive connection between walking, thinking, and writing. (In fact, Adam Gopnik wrote about walking in The New Yorker just two weeks ago.) “How vain it is to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live!” Henry David Thoreau penned in his journal. “Methinks that the moment my legs begin to move, my thoughts begin to flow.” Thomas DeQuincey has calculated that William Wordsworth—whose poetry is filled with tramps up mountains, through forests, and along public roads—walked as many as a hundred and eighty thousand miles in his lifetime, which comes to an average of six and a half miles a day starting from age five.
What is it about walking, in particular, that makes it so amenable to thinking and writing? The answer begins with changes to our chemistry. When we go for a walk, the heart pumps faster, circulating more blood and oxygen not just to the muscles but to all the organs—including the brain. Many experiments have shown that after or during exercise, even very mild exertion, people perform better on tests of memory and attention. Walking on a regular basis also promotes new connections between brain cells, staves off the usual withering of brain tissue that comes with age, increases the volume of the hippocampus (a brain region crucial for memory), and elevates levels of molecules that both stimulate the growth of new neurons and transmit messages between them.
The way we move our bodies further changes the nature of our thoughts, and vice versa. Psychologists who specialize in exercise music have quantified what many of us already know: listening to songs with high tempos motivates us to run faster, and the swifter we move, the quicker we prefer our music. Likewise, when drivers hear loud, fast music, they unconsciously step a bit harder on the gas pedal. Walking at our own pace creates an unadulterated feedback loop between the rhythm of our bodies and our mental state that we cannot experience as easily when we’re jogging at the gym, steering a car, biking, or during any other kind of locomotion. When we stroll, the pace of our feet naturally vacillates with our moods and the cadence of our inner speech; at the same time, we can actively change the pace of our thoughts by deliberately walking more briskly or by slowing down.
VIDEO FROM THE NEW YORKER :: The Men Walking Every Block in New York City
Because we don’t have to devote much conscious effort to the act of walking, our attention is free to wander—to overlay the world before us with a parade of images from the mind’s theatre. This is precisely the kind of mental state that studies have linked to innovative ideas and strokes of insight. Earlier this year, Marily Oppezzo and Daniel Schwartz of Stanford published what is likely the first set of studies that directly measure the way walking changes creativity in the moment. They got the idea for the studies while on a walk. “My doctoral advisor had the habit of going for walks with his students to brainstorm,” Oppezzo says of Schwartz. “One day we got kind of meta.”
In a series of four experiments, Oppezzo and Schwartz asked a hundred and seventy-six college students to complete different tests of creative thinking while either sitting, walking on a treadmill, or sauntering through Stanford’s campus. In one test, for example, volunteers had to come up with atypical uses for everyday objects, such as a button or a tire. On average, the students thought of between four and six more novel uses for the objects while they were walking than when they were seated. Another experiment required volunteers to contemplate a metaphor, such as “a budding cocoon,” and generate a unique but equivalent metaphor, such as “an egg hatching.” Ninety-five per cent of students who went for a walk were able to do so, compared to only fifty per cent of those who never stood up. But walking actually worsened people’s performance on a different type of test, in which students had to find the one word that united a set of three, like “cheese” for “cottage, cream, and cake.” Oppezzo speculates that, by setting the mind adrift on a frothing sea of thought, walking is counterproductive to such laser-focussed thinking: “If you’re looking for a single correct answer to a question, you probably don’t want all of these different ideas bubbling up.”
Where we walk matters as well. In a study led by Marc Berman of the University of South Carolina, students who ambled through an arboretum improved their performance on a memory test more than students who walked along city streets. A small but growing collection of studies suggests that spending time in green spaces—gardens, parks, forests—can rejuvenate the mental resources that man-made environments deplete. Psychologists have learned that attention is a limited resource that continually drains throughout the day. A crowded intersection—rife with pedestrians, cars, and billboards—bats our attention around. In contrast, walking past a pond in a park allows our mind to drift casually from one sensory experience to another, from wrinkling water to rustling reeds.
Still, urban and pastoral walks likely offer unique advantages for the mind. A walk through a city provides more immediate stimulation—a greater variety of sensations for the mind to play with. But, if we are already at the brink of overstimulation, we can turn to nature instead. Woolf relished the creative energy of London’s streets, describing it in her diary as “being on the highest crest of the biggest wave, right in the centre & swim of things.” But she also depended on her walks through England’s South Downs to “have space to spread my mind out in.” And, in her youth, she often travelled to Cornwall for the summer, where she loved to “spend my afternoons in solitary trampling” through the countryside.
Perhaps the most profound relationship between walking, thinking, and writing reveals itself at the end of a stroll, back at the desk. There, it becomes apparent that writing and walking are extremely similar feats, equal parts physical and mental. When we choose a path through a city or forest, our brain must survey the surrounding environment, construct a mental map of the world, settle on a way forward, and translate that plan into a series of footsteps. Likewise, writing forces the brain to review its own landscape, plot a course through that mental terrain, and transcribe the resulting trail of thoughts by guiding the hands. Walking organizes the world around us; writing organizes our thoughts. Ultimately, maps like the one that Nabokov drew are recursive: they are maps of maps.

hi there!! I’m a bit too awkward to not send this as an anon, but I just wanted to say you’ve been a massive artistic inspiration for me since 2016! I found you when I was still trying to find my own art style in high school, and seeing your art for dishonoured at the time changed my brain chemistry in a permanent way.
I’d love to commission you one day for a tattoo design! I know your comms are closed at the moment and this is zero pressure to open it any time soon - I just wanted to express how much I love and appreciate your art!
Thank You so much for the kind words, Anon <3 that's very nice (and tbh quite touching too T_T) to hear... thanks for writing this <3
And yes, for now no comms for sure for a while, but it is always awesome to hear people expressing interest <3
Thank You again and have a great day <3

MO12pc have done such an amazing job at showing the growth and ages of these characters changing in such little ways beyond wardrobe and hair updates.
There's the obvious tension when sharing beds now and the character growth such as Eiws healthy social life and Cakes disinterest in girls but the scene that stuck out to me the most despite how subtle was the change in their wake up routine.
The essence of it is still the same: Cake over sleeping, Eiw harrassing him to get up, the physical touch of Eiw dragging him out of bed.
Tumblr media
But the vibes from before and after are so different. There's this physical chemistry that wasn't there before, when they were young it was all Eiw pulling funny faces and Cake pulling awake from him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now Cake resists enough to get the attention but you can see he leans into Eiw instead of pulling away.
Tumblr media
And then there's the way Eiw kneels over him, he's jumped on the bed a bit in the past when Cake has really been stubborn but it's never culminated in this kind of position. For a moment my brain figured maybe it's because the single bed Cake used to have made it difficult but looking back there's plenty of space on that double bed that's free real-estate,,, but CakeEiw are squished in tight to each other so really, there's no excuse.
The vibes from the post time skip wake up give me such established long term relationship feels and I am HERE for it.

MotA pt eight:
combat pilots are the glamour boys of piloting tbh (I like/am critical of this show's sprawling ambition but I'd take a BoB style miniseries just following the 332nd / 477th)
feeling a little bit back to square one in that suddenly there's a whole new bunch of guys in uniforms and masks and I'm supposed to be able to tell them apart and it took me about 4 episodes to keep track of the 100th (about 7 to keep track of easy company, but I was new to the genre back then)
(my co-watchers and I have a whatsapp group called "i moustache you a question" which is purely for helping one another tell MotA characters apart)
I don't want to be mean but I do not give a skerrick of a fuck about bucky's emotional problems, especially when that problem is boredom
"well I could cope with being DEAD" is mildly endearing
just think how much of this narration you could cut out and everything would be fine, better even
it's good to see a little bit more of capt westgate's working relationships
croz that is what happens when you disobey kidd's direct order, your brain deactivates
did u know christopher lakewood (col jeffrey) is also an accent coach
I thought maybe buck and bucky's fight might be some piece of misdirection theatre in aid of an escape plan but no, bucky is just that annoying. punch him again.
luv the tuskegee airmen already because nobody's narrating over their scenes. see how well this works
"I helped plan d-day and then slept through it" is a great story for the grandkids. I'm being flippant but also: it kind of is
croz/rosie/kidd ot3. I'm right. think it over. thank me later. (platonically, but ydy. maybe I'll decide I'm flexible)
if I were more heterosexual I would fall for macon reeling off a list of precise statistics that he worked out earlier when he had a free five minutes
"we perhaps might not blend into nazi germany?" is seditious talk apparently
I'm always a bit lost when the 100th point to one another through their plane windows and say things like "look! there's blakely!" because I simply cannot make out any distinguishing features. the tuskegee planes are great though, much more distinctive
Second Smug Nazi is a slightly more charismatic actor imo
the writers have got themselves into that "this time period was racist but Our Heroes cannot be racist" dilemma so, as per the classic dodge, some relatively minor character gets to be the Only Racist. sorry hambone. you are very blond, after all. (sometimes it's "this time period was homophobic" or "this time period was misogynistic" but the solution remains the same)
I quite like alex and buck's interactions, despite not having been terribly invested in buck so far. good chemistry? just the novelty of a new character relationship? anyway it helps when butler and turner get scenes with other people for a change. one of the best tools for character development is giving them multiple relationships; the different commonalities/tensions/chemistry are v revealing
I am not immune to a Secret Plot Montage
tell me more about macon and demarco, is this a budding friendship (don't want to overegg a "standing next to each other" moment but I'm starved for supporting character development and I'm finally giving up on that significantly changing)
I think westgate is probably right to call things off with crosby sooner rather than later (I always support hbo war ladies when they dump guys #feminism)
yeah I do quite like rosie, he's a good person/leader/pilot. very obviously not (as winters described guarnere and speirs) a natural killer, but that's not his job and he is a natural pilot and therefore cannot bring himself to leave the other guys before the war is over
I think I have done a relatively good job of keeping track of the influx of new characters. don't remember everyone's names yet (alex! macon! daniels!) but I'm doing better on faces
hope demarco and meatball get to reunite next ep

I really needed to read those tags you put on the all three iterations of trigun post. It was like touching grass almost. There really is room for everybody! thanks~
I'm so glad! That post kind of touched a bit on something I've been struggling with in general: the idea that things have to always be in competition with each other.
Like, sure if you DEMANDED I pick a favorite version of Trigun I could, but that feels like a disservice to all three versions! I get something different out of each, and each has their own strengths and weaknesses! How can I be expected to pick a favorite anything when what I get out of different things aren't comparable? 98 has great silly moments, Stampede gives me an animation boner, and TriMax really has changed my brain chemistry. Those summaries are flat and don't begin to cover all the things I like about each! But at the same time I feel a pressure to have a favorite, or that if I have serious criticisms that means I can't love other things about it, or other things I'm having difficulty articulating at the moment!!! So something I said being almost like touching grass? Great! I want to a a positive force in any community I'm in! Digital space is infinite, there's no reason we should have to compete with each other. There's room for everyone!! Love and peace!!!

Undead Unluck Week 2024
Day 6 - Favorite Quote: "Let's enjoy life"
Is it cheating to use a quote from the author rather than from the series itself? It better not be, cus for all of the quotes from this series that rattle around in my brain, either because they're extremely poignant ("What kind of man wants to see the woman he loves suffer?") or stupidly funny ("You not telling me was a test, wasn't it?" "Yes." "You're lying, aren't you?" "Yes."), this summation of the series posited by Tozuka's editor is the one that actually changed me
That may seem hyperbolic for a three-word quote, but ever since I saw that quote, it really has altered something in my brain chemistry. Like a Negator reinterpreting the meaning of their Rules, my whole worldview changed, at least subtly, when I heard that quote
Naturally it changed my approach to reading UU, as every scene, every moment, every quote, every panel suddenly became about reinforcing the idea that life is something to be enjoyed with other people. It's incredibly clear that this philosophy is the driving force for every single decision in the narrative, with every action that the main cast takes (and possibly even the villainous cast with recent revelations) being directly influenced by the goal of happiness, the search for the Greatest Life
Beyond that, though, I've found that it's influenced my daily life as well. In much the same way that Dungeon Meshi fans have an inner Senshi that reminds them to feed themselves, I now have an inner Tozuka that reminds me to find the joy in whatever I'm doing. Whether it's to remember the purpose of why I'm doing something in the first place or to convince me that the effort isn't worth it and I should stop, the maxim to enjoy myself gives me the clarity and perspective to focus on what matters
It's not always easy. Sometimes life just hits you a little too hard and you can't remember the words of wisdom that would help you through the rough patch. But remembering that the whole point of life is to enjoy it, to be around people you can enjoy it with, eases the burden a bit. It redirects your energy towards trying to be happy rather than trying not to be sad
Fiction is a source of comfort for people. Whether it's seeing people going through the same problems they are and overcoming them, seeing people who look like them thriving when they themselves otherwise can't, or even just hearing a quote that resonates with them, the escape into fantasy should, ideally, give you something to latch onto and bring back with you into the real world. It can be something simple, like a superhero story equipping you with the courage to stand up for yourself, or a romance showing you how to be open with your emotions, but the best stories always leave you better than they found you
I've always believed that the purpose of life is to enjoy it, but I don't think I ever quite put it in those terms or thought about it that concretely. It was more just a general feeling, an implicit understanding that a life without happiness can hardly be called living, but once I read Undead Unluck, it became much more than that. It became an active choice. I've decided to live my life in a way I can enjoy, even if all that means is appreciating the moments where I'm just relaxing instead of "living life to the fullest." I don't have to see everything the world has to offer, I don't have to push myself to achieve every dream I've ever had, but I can't beat myself up for not doing those things either. You can't enjoy life if you're too worried about not enjoying life enough, now can you?
To truly get the most out of life, we have to be willing to live it, and on some level that means accepting who we are as individuals and meeting ourselves in the middle. It's fine to push yourself, but if you push yourself to the point of misery, then there's no point to it. Some of you even suggested that very thing to me when I felt like my UU anime reviews were getting too repetitive to be fun. You all, as my community, actively tried to help me break my own pattern of unenjoyment. I don't know if I ever said it, but thank you for being there for me. Thank you for helping me to remember to enjoy myself. I hope that this post will help do the same for you
I'll see you all again tomorrow for the final day of UU Week 2024. After that, and until next year's celebration:
Let's enjoy life

The Taste of Ink (The Used)
At last it's finally over/Couldn't take this town much longer/Being half dead wasn't what I planned to be/Now I'm ready to be free/So here I am, it's in my hand/And I'll savor every moment of this/So here I am, alive at last/And I'll savor every moment of this
"Hearing The Taste of Ink for the first time and having it CHANGE YOUR FUCKING BRAIN CHEMISTRY FOREVER is, in my opinion, one of the core experiences for people who found The Used through the MCR -> who was that guy hanging out with Gerard Way in 2004 -> The Used fan pipeline. Even my friend who doesn't like any other song by them listened to The Taste of Ink and got kind of a little bit changed by it. Watching the video is also part of the experience. It comes in 360p at the very highest quality and yeah. To me this song is the anthem of the desire to run and not stop until you're far away from where you started."
Defying Gravity (Wicked)
So if you care to find me/Look to the western sky/As someone told me lately/"Everyone deserves the chance to fly!"
"An actual cultural reset. this song makes me want to follow my dreams regardless of what society may think of me and my green fucking skin"
Poll Runner: The ultimate act one closer, this song is just so full of defiance, as well as the emotion within the goodbyes they say to each other. Just a really good one.

my dream svsss live action cast
Part 1
this really started out as a jokey post because it had clicked in my mind who the absolutely Perfect actor for shang qinghua would be but then i was all🤔🤔who else would i put in a svsss live action if i had a choice??
most actors are from dramas i’ve already seen or at least have heard of....pics mostly from screencaps or dramalist
Original Shen Qingqiu - Wang Duo
Tumblr media
LISTEn. LISTEN TO ME.... i am gently holding ur shoulders as i say this!! (accept no substitutes!!! which is deeply ironic considering what does happen to sqq in-story but :’‘))
elegant, coolly calculating and vicious, prideful with these glass shards moments of vulnerability...what can't this man do??
Luo Binghe - (Older version) Chen Zheyuan
Tumblr media
i never did watch him in handsome siblings, but i did enjoy the way he played his character in Mr. Bad....i like how...hmm easy he finds it to fluidly change between these expressions of slightly wicked/sly and definitely more innocent and vulnerable, which could be fun for older/sorta of toasted marshmallow blackened luo binghe...the younger 14-yr old white lotus!lbh would likely be played by a different actor but i have no strong opinions on that
Tumblr media
honorable mention for another lbh choice that was considered - Richard Yi from the webdrama series ‘has xianzun been whitewashed yet today?’ (ie in the meaning of cleaning up his bad reputation)
(while it Was pretty tempting to put down someone like luo yunxi for lbh i ended up not doing that---he does possess the requisite levels of dramatic evil presence and feral fury and resentment, i think he might lack a little bit hmmmm that kind of softer, more youthful side that lbh would still show maybe)
Shang Qinghua - Tian Yu
Tumblr media
...hey like. his whole acting in joy of life....Is he Not the Perfect choice????
the entire smiley while seemingly being obsequious and awkwardly uncool (obsessed w/ money all the time, his top fighting skill being RUNNING AWAY with his qigong), while ALSO having these good moments of adaptable cunning under a supposedly harmless exterior...... o w o
Mobei-jun - Nicky Wu
Tumblr media
idk what to say for this one (◕ᴗ◕✿) (◕ᴗ◕✿) scarlet heart/bbjx was Both deeply formative and also hecked up my brain chemistry a Ton, but if u need a character who is the strong Silent type but also exudes killing intent/pressure and a regal aura...i think he could pull it off for sure
Part 2 for this post for my headcanon casting of other characters would be incoming at some point. PART 2 OF HEADCANON SVSSS CAST HERE.
do feel free to interact with this post in the replies though

#9 from the SECOND Taylor Swift prompt list for Sam/Bucky?? ⚡️⚡️⚡️
I threatened to write a Sambucky Formula One AU and then I did. Part of one, anyway. That's progress, I think.
9. a rollercoaster kind of rush
Sam holds his phone up, moving it around slowly so Sarah and the kids can get a good look at the skyline of Birnin Zana. He’s gotten used to nice hotel suites over the years, but the Wakandan ones always seem a cut above the others.
“Can we come with you next time, Uncle Sam?” asks AJ, his eyes wide as he looks out at the buildings.
Sarah shushes him. “I know you’re not asking that like Uncle Sam didn’t just take you on a very nice trip this summer.”
AJ looks like he’s about to protest, but falls silent at a nudge from Cass.
“We’ll see about next summer, okay, AJ? Take you off your mom’s hands for a bit. We can visit Warrior Falls, maybe go see the mountains up in Jabari Land. We’ll be able to do more if I don’t have a race.”
“But then Mr. Bucky won’t be–”
Cutting his little brother off, Cass leans in so his face takes up most of Sam’s screen. “I can come, too, right?”
Sam sighs. “I don’t know if you’ll like it very much, Cass…they just have that big science museum, and the botanic garden with all those rare flowers, and that one interactive geology exhibition–”
“I’m coming too!” exclaims Cass, earning a laugh from Sam and an unamused look from his mother.
Eventually, Sarah shoos the boys away to finish cleaning up their rooms, and Sam flips the camera back around. “How are you still walking around in a t-shirt?” asks Sarah, furrowing her eyebrows at him. “Don’t you have some big royal gala to attend?”
Her phone must be propped up against something now; he can see her chopping an onion as she speaks.
“I still have time,” says Sam. “Thought I’d talk to my loving family first.”
Sarah hums in acknowledgment, putting a carrot on the board and setting to slicing it before she speaks again. “How were the interviews today?”
“Not bad, actually,” he says after a moment’s thought. “I guess the team’s strategy is paying off; they actually asked me about my approach to the race today instead of whatever made up behind the scenes drama they’re usually talking about.”
He wants to warn her not to read anything on the internet, just in case, but he bites back the impulse. She knows enough by now to avoid all of that.
“I saw,” says Sarah. “The team must have been happy with that.”
“Thrilled. We were all tired of having to talk about Steve’s injury and driver chemistry, whatever that’s supposed to be. It’s a nice change.”
“And what about your cute new teammate, hm? He’s thrilled, too?”
Sam frowns, though he worries it’ll only encourage her. “Don’t call my teammate cute, Sarah.”
Sarah snorts. “I said it once, Sam. You’ve said it a hundred times.”
He scoffs. “No, I have not.”
“Oh, really?”
Sam should back down at this point, he knows, but he can’t let this go without a fight. Not this. “Yeah, really.”
“Sarah, Steve’s prettyboy teammate took the last water bottle at the press conference. Sarah, he’s lucky he’s cute ‘cause he can’t handle turns for shit,” she says, in what Sam supposes is her impression of him. “Oh, Sarah, he did an obnoxious billboard for Calvin Klein; I bet he felt like not enough people were seeing his pretty face under the helmet, but you know no one’s looking at his face in those.”
“I did not say that about his Calvin Klein billboard,” says Sam, belatedly realizing that he’s just admitted to saying the rest.
“I was paraphrasing,” Sarah says blithely. “I’m just saying, rookie Sam thought Steve’s annoying teammate was cute.”
“Well, he’s not.”
“Mmm, more of a ruggedly handsome type now, huh?”
Which is true, but Sam’s brain suddenly jumps to Bucky, bleary-eyed and messy-haired as he boards an early flight, or Bucky the way he was yesterday, when they visited a school after qualifiers and he’d sat down on the ground and rolled up his sleeve so that the kids could all get a good look at his prosthetic arm. Maybe cute is still the word for him.
Sam shakes himself before he can go too far down that road. “Sure,” he replies, as evenly as he can. “Whatever you say, Sarah.”
She looks at him like she knows what he’s not saying, but lets it slide. “I’ll let you get ready for your big party,” she says. “Have fun, Sam. And congratulations. I’m so proud of you.”
He smiles and thanks her. “Love you, Sarah.”
“Love you. Steal me something monogrammed from this fancy hotel,” she says, laughing as she hangs up.
Sam shakes his head, clicking off the screen, and makes a note to buy one of the hotel’s plush spa robes for Sarah before he leaves.
He leaves his tablet where it is and goes into the bedroom to get his outfit for the evening, turning on the TV as he goes. He may have gotten used to fancy hotel rooms a while ago, but he’ll never quite get used to the quiet of them, not after half a lifetime spent in a bustling, noisy house.
For a while, it doesn’t matter either way. The TV is drowned out by the noise of the shower and muffled by the door, but when Sam steps back into the room, the coverage has switched over to today’s race.
It’s a policy of his not to watch this stuff, but he’s busy buttoning up his shirt and trying to work in his cufflinks. The channel remains unchanged, and Sam only half-listens as they discuss track conditions and the engine issues that had taken two cars out of the race early.
It’s only when a familiar voice sounds through the speakers that he startles and looks up.
Onscreen is Bucky, his hair still matted from being under a helmet, but curling a bit at the edges as it dries. He has his eyebrows furrowed, listening intently to the question that the reporter is posing.
“Obviously, you spent much of the race neck and neck with your teammate, Sam Wilson, battling it out for fourth place after his second pit stop put him right behind you. Was it frustrating to be told to ease off and allow him to have third?”
Immediately, Sam starts looking around for the remote. He doesn’t need to hear this. Whatever it is that Bucky’s going to say, he’s heard a thousand versions of it from their rookie days. They don’t need a rehash.
He can’t find the damn thing, naturally. Sam’s on the point of trying to crouch in these very nice, extremely tailored suit pants, all just to check under the bed, but he happens to glance back at the screen for a moment and sees the look on Bucky’s face: not the cool disdain of their rookie years, or even a few months ago. He just looks mildly confused.
“Frustrating?” repeats Bucky-on-TV. “Not at all. There’s a reason they made that call. Either one of us could have made it into third from fourth, but advancing two places? That overtake on the forty-fifth lap? That’s Las Vegas in 2016, that’s Abu Dhabi in 2019, it’s Singapore last year. No one handles a street circuit like Sam does. He was the only one who could’ve made it to second.”
The interviewer goes on to ask Bucky another question, but Sam doesn’t hear it. He feels a little bit like the bottom has dropped out from under him, his jaw hanging slightly open as he stares at Bucky Barnes’ face on his TV.
It’s not like it’s out of the realm of possibility to study your competitors as a strategy. Sam’s done it, too. But Bucky had brought up races from seasons when he was still in recovery; they hadn’t even been competitors at that point. Granted, Steve had been racing against Sam in 2019, and last year, Bucky would’ve been paying attention to Singapore because he was already set to be their reserve for the next season, but it’s still a surprise somehow.
Sam doesn’t get much more time to mull it over: a knock sounds and he startles, his eyes going to Bucky-on-the-screen as he remembers who’s just outside the door. The remote is still missing, so he smacks the power button on the side of the TV as he hurries out to the front room.
He opens the door of the suite to find Peter, holding a tablet and tapping away at something onscreen. Behind him is Bucky, in shirtsleeves, his jacket probably in the suit bag that Peter has over one shoulder.
Sam is about to ask about Bucky’s state of not-quite-readiness when Peter steps out of the way to reveal Alpine curled in the crook of Bucky’s left arm, undoubtedly leaving white hairs all over his black shirt and answering Sam’s question in one fell swoop. He waves them both in, standing aside so they can enter.
It’s stupid, but as they walk into the suite, Sam tries to study Bucky’s face, like he might have missed something the last thousand times he’d looked at him.
It’s not exactly subtle. Bucky turns to look back at him, then glances down at the kitten in the crook of his arm.
“I know,” he says, apologetic. “I didn’t want her getting hair all over your stuff, but she wouldn’t let me leave.”
“Oh, I wasn’t–” Sam starts to say, then thinks about how exactly he might explain what he was doing. He shakes his head. “It’s fine; Miss Alpine is always welcome here.”
He reaches to pet her and she immediately butts her head against his hand before elegantly hopping out of Bucky’s arms. They both watch as she weaves her way around their feet before heading off and making herself comfortable on the hoodie that Sam left on the couch.
“Alpine,” Bucky says, a touch despairingly, as he huries after her. “Baby, no. Leave Sam’s stuff alone.”
“She’s fine, Bucky,” Sam says. “That hoodie’s the rattiest thing I own; honestly, I expected her to have finer taste.”
“She probably likes it ‘cause it’s soft,” says Bucky. His face does something strange for a second, and then he turns to Peter. “Alright, Parker, we’re all here. Now what?”
Peter finally looks up from his tablet, like he’s only just realized where he is. “Oh! Right! Okay, so the team wants a little more content for the Instagram page? So we’ll have the professional pictures at the gala, but they were hoping for something a little looser to tease what’s coming, so I’m just going to take some candids while you finish getting ready and you can just pretend I’m not here at all?”
It takes Sam a moment to process his words, rushed as they always are, but he nods once he gets the gist of it. “Do what you need to do, kid. Car still coming in half an hour?”
Peter nods. “We’ll be done with all this before then,” he says, already lining up a shot of Alpine making biscuits on Sam’s hoodie.
Sam looks over at Bucky, who’s already helped himself to a bottle of sparkling water and has magicked up a novel from somewhere, one of those shitty old sci-fi paperbacks. There’s a blue face on the cover, glaring red-eyed into the distance, and it looks like Bucky is already halfway through.
He turns and heads into the bedroom to finish putting in his cufflinks—Peter follows him and takes pictures—and then turns his attention to his bowtie. He gets it around his neck, then stares blankly at his own reflection. He’d been planning to break out a YouTube video so he could remember how to do this, but that feels significantly more embarrassing with Peter there waiting to capture the whole thing on camera.
He stalls for a bit by putting on his jacket and fussing with the buttons, pretending to be assessing the line of the suit. (He doesn’t need to: it’s perfectly cut and tailored, cobalt brocade with solid black lapels, and the fabric is so butter soft that Sam kind of wants to live in it forever.)  After a mostly useless five minutes of stalling, he decides to head back into the sitting room, hoping that they’ll find Alpine doing something cute to distract Peter for long enough that Sam can remember how the hell you tie a bowtie.
“Better light,” he says as he heads back out, and Peter seems to accept the explanation.
Thankfully, Alpine comes through for Sam: she’s perched on Bucky’s shoulder as he reads, tucked into the crook of his neck and looking very comfortable. That has to be worth at least three or four Instagram posts, he decides, and leaves Peter to excitedly take his pictures.
Sam takes the opportunity to face himself in the mirror by the desk, determined to get this done before Peter remembers that the actual racers on the team are Sam and Bucky, and not a tiny cat with expensive taste.
He’s debating which side goes over first when he hears Bucky ask, “What are you doing?”
“Nothing,” says Sam, too quickly to be believable. “It’s just my bowtie, don’t worry about it.”
But Bucky is already striding over—a glance at Alpine reveals that she’s back on Sam’s hoodie—and steering Sam around to face him. “You won’t have a bowtie left if you keep pulling at it like that,” he says, but instead of cutting, it’s just kind of amused. “Here, let me.”
He waits for Sam to nod before he reaches for the bowtie, smoothing the ends out between his fingers before starting to tie it.
It’s quiet, Bucky focused on Sam’s tie and Sam left to look at the sweep of his eyelashes, the way his hair’s been slicked back, the way his shoulder and sleeve are covered in Alpine’s hair because he couldn’t bear to move her when she was comfortable. Bucky’s brow knits together in concentration and Sam feels a swoop in his stomach, a rush of- of something pounding through his veins all of a sudden.
“I’ve never once seen you in a bowtie,” says Sam, because maybe talking will help him feel steady on his feet again. “Why do you know how to do this?”
“My sister,” says Bucky. “Becca wore a tux to prom as an act of rebellion, but she said that just because she wasn’t wearing a dress, didn’t mean she would be half-assing it. Made me learn how to tie her bowtie because she couldn’t get it right when she was doing it on her own.”
The explanation does nothing to stop the swooping feeling at all. “And you still remember after all these years?”
Bucky shrugs, adjusting the ends of the tie so they sit right. “It was important to her,” he says. “And, uh, it was good practice, you know? After the arm.”
Sam doesn’t have anything to say to that, so he just nods a little and claps Bucky gently on the left arm.
He accepts that with a nod, adjusting Sam’s bowtie one last time before smoothing down his lapels. Then he takes a step back, surveying his handiwork. “Looks good,” Bucky says. “Maybe next time, I’ll ask if I can wear the blue brocade, stick you with the all-black-except-for-one-pop-of-color outfit instead.”
“You know I’d make it look good,” says Sam, grinning.
“That’s pretty confident, for a man who can’t tie a bowtie,” Bucky replies.
But Sam just waves a hand. “I have people for that.”
Bucky snorts, shaking his head. “If I’m tying your bowties on a regular basis, what exactly are you bringing to this partnership?”
“My sparkling personality,” says Sam, before reaching over to his garment bag and pulling something out. “And also, an endless supply of emergency lint rollers.”
He tosses it at Bucky, who easily catches it one handed. “Deal,” he says, already rolling it down his sleeve. “You’ve got yourself a bowtie specialist on retainer.”
“Shit, if I’d known that all it took for you to cooperate was a lint roller, I’d have given you one fifteen years ago.”
“To be fair, I don’t think me from 2009 would have had much use for a lint roller,” says Bucky.
“Oh, no, how could I forget? Walking Ed Hardy ad James Buchanan Barnes.”
“It was 2009, Sam.”
“That is not an excuse, Buck.”
“Oh, and you were so much better, with all your devastating v-necks?”
“Hey, those are a classic staple of–”
They’re still bickering when Peter tells them that the cars have arrived, but the silence when they take the elevator down is warmer, somehow. When the doors slide open, Bucky holds them for Sam, waving him forward with a small smile. “Shall we?”
At least this time, Sam’s prepared for the swoop.

also watching season 2 now that I'm in a queer relationship is changing my brain chemistry like. s1 was so much fun and perfect and I loved it but like. watching this season??? now that I get to scream I love my girlfriend into the ether????? it is rewiring things up there like. the way queer affection is shown on this show is just so. sweet and affectionate and Real like I've always felt kinda disconnected from romance plots in movies & stuff like in the past I've felt kinda like how I am in relationships doesn't connect with what I've been shown? like I felt like.i had to performatively live up to what I was told was romance in my private life but like. every moment of queer interaction in this show is just. exactly how I exist in my relationship right now. like it's silly and awkward and sweet and gentle and like. Pete and Lucius proposal where they kiss and then Pete kinda squwaks incoherently and lightly ribs him for being silly. the gentle wanting of every Ed/stede interaction, being afraid of going to fast too soon and wanting to make sure your partner is comfortable. the silly little game they play with their hands. it just. it's all so imperfect and kind and earnest and genuine and I feel so seen and perceived in a way that I literally never have in media before and that I never thought was possible before I started dating this woman like??? realizing I'm a lesbian has made me so soft and silly like a teenager again I didn't know y'all were feeling this I thought this was a bit that they invented for love songs????? idk idk none of this makes sense I'm just a bit tipsy at the airport and I have so many feelings!!!!

Thai BL Favourites Tag List Game
Of COURSE @lost-my-sanity1 want me to partake in this and I am doing it for that wee little child only.
Favourite BL
I mean, it was a tight competition between THE 2 - MSP and BB. But as I have screamed out into the void before, BB just takes the cake, man. That show viscerally changed me as a person. I am a NEW BEING after BB. It's the way in which it came during the pandemic with its amazing acting and directing and music and STORY and chemistry and all that and more. MSP is a close second but my uni bois have a special place in my heart.
[p.s I love nanon and his entire face in this scene so much I cannot even descRIBE]
Tumblr media
Favourite Pairing
The pretentious me hates how I am following the mainstream and not thinking of some obscure pairings but yeah TinnGun genuinely deserve it. I am sorry but I still get butterflies whenever I watch the last scene of ep 4. That kind of chemistry is super hard to come by and GemFourth did such a good job, I love them. 🥺 I wanna forget ever having watched MSP and watch them all over again.
Tumblr media
Some noteworthy mentions are obviously patpran, everything maxtul plays, akkayan, biblebuild, etc.
OH I do infact have a not THAT mainstream pair! It's whatever couple name mark and perth acted as in the [admittedly not a BL] show, The Stranded, on Netflix.
Tumblr media
Favourite Character
Tinn. I relate so much to that boy, especially his awkwardness. Also he is super cute and I am super cute. He is also super simpy and I love that in a man. I truly don't know if I want him or want to be him.
Tumblr media
[ANOTHER noteworthy mention is Pleum in Ghost Host, Ghost House cuz again, mans is a walking green flag and a simp. ALSO hella awkward. *gasps* I have a type].
Tumblr media
Favourite side character
This position is shared by 2 of my fav comic reliefs who are also very pure hearted I love them to bits - Tiwson from MSP and Tankhun from Kinnporsche. The series truly wouldn't have been anything without them and I stand by it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Favourite Scene
If I could say the entirety of ep 5 of BB, I would have. But if I had to choose. This.
Tumblr media
Nothing surpasses this. Paof told them to make it award fucking worthy with the angst and they fucking did it. Ohm in this scene does so many things to me I cannot even I shall be kicked out from society if I ever open my mouth. I can't even stand seeing that gif cuz my knees will buckle down that very second. It also paved the way for the rooftop kiss TM so.
Favourite Line
Tumblr media
I mean. I warned you about this in the previous question so. It's more to do with the way he says it but it's still my fav cuz it was done right.
Underrated Actor:
SING who plays the role of the villain in Not Me. It is time that he got some main character roles, gmm.
Most anticipated BL and why:
1. Dangerous Romance cuz I have missed seeing Perth and Chimon, another 2 actors that can ACT, in a main role.
2. Only Friends cuz
3. I feel you linger in the air cuz plot looks interesting and they r both hunks.
Healthiest relationship in a bl:
Tinngun. Aint even have to put up a fight.
Most toxic relationship in a bl:
I mean, there are lots, girlie. If you immediately thought of that one pairing after seeing this question, then yeap I am going with that pairing too wink wink.
Guilty Pleasure Series:
Tonhon Chonlatee and that too only the first few eps. I love khaotung man what do I do.
Bonus! Most underrated series:
I think khun chai is pretty underrated in the sense that it's very telenovelaesque and mayhaps not fully bl so people r put off by it but I LOVED that show to bits.
YYY was a comparatively underrated series too even though I loved the romantic moments as much as the weird and comedic ones. It truly sits in a league of its own.
OOOKIE thassit for now. I have exhausted my typing abilities and I am pretty sure I left a lot of good series and scenes off cuz my brain couldn't conjure them up while I was typing.
I welcome anyone else who wants to try this out honestly, but if @ashedddaisy and @gaylittlepieceofsh1t could contribute their think pieces, I would LOVE to read em.
