20: which character do you struggle with writing the most?

honestly? probably katherine. the background newsies are easy enough, they're essentially just colouring books; everyone has their own take on them so you never really have to worry about getting it wrong. but katherine has a lot of complexity to her that i don't often explore in my fics because i'm a filthy shipper at heart and i don't typically focus on anyone besides the pair i'm writing for. but katherine's a really fascinating character that has so much depth and heart and intrigue to her and she's very often written to have just a few vaguely girlboss-y moments and then shunted to the side. i don't want to do that with my fics, but i think the way i've been avoiding doing that is to just. not include her at all, and that's something i want to improve on, so i'm planning out bigger roles for her in things like the arcade au and manhattan, west virginia.
