like. okay. thinking about this some more and tbh it is kind of insane to me the way people will sometimes characterise core four, and kon specifically, as being completely unconditionally on board with tim not revealing his real name or face to them prior to wwyj.

like, i know the real reason is that the people doing this simply don't read comics. which is such a fucking wall to run into. but man... tim not telling them his identity when everyone else had revealed theirs to each other/didn't have one to begin with was the biggest driving force behind the tim and kon fight on apokalips. the same way kon was upset and hurt that superman never told him he's also clark kent. kon is very explicitly not cool with being left out of the loop about things as big as secret identities. it makes him feel like the other person doesn't consider him trustworthy, and then he starts questioning their relationship. (once again, pointing at the kon & lois conversation post hypertime arc when he finds out clark's secret identity.)

i love identity shenanigans. i love identity angst. i think thats one of the most fun things about the superhero genre! and aus where they don't know each other's ids can be fun!!! but it's like. INCREDIBLY out of character for that not to be a driving force of conflict if kon is involved in any way.

#rimi talks #just bc they are all insane about each other later does NOT mean they started out that way.......#they had to build trust in their relationship. like yes kon was referring to tim as his best friend even before owaw but #that conflict was still very much present between them all the same.#like....... kon feels hurt when people aren't transparent with him. even when he arguably doesn't have the right to know everything!#that's one of his core character traits as far as interacting with secrets and other heroes goes. he likes to feel valued and trusted #and when he feels like he's Not trusted it undermines his relationships!#that's a point of conflict! isn't that way more interesting than declawed generic cardboard cutout boyfriend who doesn't have boundaries???#anywhoozies. complaint over its back to my wip mines #kon #tim #timkon

People blaming Nightcloud for Crowfeather’s abuse of his son is CRAZY not only because it’s just blatant sexism but the most blatant indications of Crowfeather’s abuse towards him take place when Nightcloud isn’t even there.

Also! Even if she did someone “turn him against Crowfeather” that doesn’t mean that he’s suddenly justified in hitting, belittling, and just being nasty overall to his kid. Holly, Jay, and Lion make it perfectly clear that he is not a good father.

You had people just making shit up to further incriminate her but if you tried to point any of Crowfeather's shitty moments in the books it was "idk guuuyyyss is that really abuse :/". Like she is THE test of a double standard to me. Can a woman canonically do nothing in warriors, be blamed for something the narrative never shows her doing, and have the reader buy it? The answer is yes apparently.

I love (<- type thru gritted teeth) this recent idea that "noooo guys they're BOTH complex". Like sorry buddy! Nightcloud is a nothing character, she barely shows up. You got mad at the cardboard cutout that the authors painted "bad mom" on and showed your ass about it lol

AND BIG YEAH ON THE LAST PART! Like he had plenty of opportunities to get close to his son without her (in fact, an entire journey without her). Can we please stop pretending that she's ever been this complex character or evil OLD HAG who TOOK ADVANTAGE of Crowfeather (yes. I've seen that), and just acknowledge she's a nothing character that was used for whatever Breezepelt or Crowfeather needed for their arcs?

i cant describe it but people just putting meryl and milly in the background of vashwood instead of just putting them front and centre in their own piece genuinely feels like im being cucked like why did u even bother

like damn maybe id like the ship more if people didnt just go "theyr so cute and soft and married aahhh so so gentle and femme and girly theyr so cyute" then the only time they draw them is like. idfk them walking in on vash and wolfwood fucking eachothers brains out like god. all talk.

Tfw when Sophia Lamb is a better villain then protag who goes through an arc, towards the end she starts to get tired of everything whereas Comstock remains racist Col. Sanders all the way through.

Also Elizabeth following from Deltas example was much more interesting then Elizabeth being one note vending machine.

There’s more consistency and presence in Lamb than there is in (all of infinite) Comstock. I wouldn’t say she got tired, the last few hours of the game show more commitment to her goal; between torturing Sinclair and blowing up the whole building. Comstock just kind of… dies. Going “haha I won!” but I have no clue why he even thought he was going to get what he wanted at that point.

Not helped by the fact he’s absent most of the game, which I’m not saying he has to be physically present, but I would forget about him going through infinite. His presence didn’t feel like an inescapable pressure the way Lamb (AND Ryan/Fontaine) did. He didn’t feel nearly as influential on most of the events despite being the main antagonist and catalyst behind the city.

But yeah Delta & Eleanor is much more compelling vs Booker Elizabeth. Eleanor feels like she’s growing up, becoming her own person, learning to make her own decisions and get what she wants. Elizabeth’s is more nihilistic, no one has free will no one makes their own choices we’re tied to destiny and things are always going to be the same no matter what blah blah blah cycle of abuse blah blah blah I’m going to burn a child in a vent for no reason. The “naive girl gets hardened by a gruff man” is a trope I’m tired of. There’s more love and hope with Delta & Eleanor while Booker & Elizabeth are both just unenjoyable characters.

Not to be mean again but you know I keep trying to be like "well hes just getting all these side appearances its fine hes not getting a arc" with the current state of Peacemaker like he didnt have a clear arc going through his appearances in the late 80s/early 90s, starting from Vigilante and ending with his death in Eclipso. Like I dont know.
