Episode 4: Ready to drop

Agnes had been busy all day. She had spent the morning maintaining the property and now was spending the afternoon on her ward, Violet. They had done homework, extra credit, a project and some work on character values.

Agnes was pooped! How did people do this? It was so much more challenging than running her flower stall. She really was ready to drop! She decided to ring her cousin Agatha to invite her to stay over. Maybe she would know what to do with the girl… was handy with a paintbrush…and besides, she missed her. After that she took a minute to close her eyes, but then heard some strange cries… Why were her tenants always making such strange, loud noises?

On going to investigate, she found Trina Tickle who had clearly gone into labour. Agnes sighed. This was what happened when people canoodled. They reaped what they sowed.

However, as Teddy was still at work, Agnes decided she’d better take her to the hospital herself, rather than risk any more mess on the apartment floor.

Trina’s twins were delivered by Dr. Bennett Betterman, who confided to Agnes that he and his family were looking for a temporary rental property while they searched for their forever home. Agnes nodded in approval (imagine - a doctor would really raise the tone at Crumplebottom Villas)! She invited him to come round to visit.

After a brief labour (god I wish my labour had been as quick as a Sims), Trina’s twins Toby and Tate were safely delivered!

Agnes stopped trying to smooze Dr Betterman and stared in awe and disbelief. Maybe the tiredness was making her delusional, or maybe she was softening, as she fell in love with the twins at first sight and insisted on becoming their godmother.

February 16

Lilith Vatore is on her nightly walk around Forgotten Hollow. There’s one place she usually avoids most nights but tonight she stops in front of the looming structure.

She stares at Straud Mansion, briefly wondering why The Count felt he needed a four story home to himself. Something seems different about the place. The lights. The decorative lights along the eaves. They’re a simple white but it’s not The Count’s style. It makes Lilith wonder if perhaps Vladislaus has female company. This thought for some reason takes her back in time in her memories.

“Caleb, where are you going? I wish to finish our stroll.” Lilith calls her brother, who is running down the path.

“Mother said our company is arriving tonight. It is polite to greet them when they reach the grounds.” He calls back to his sister before disappearing around a corner.

Lilith huffs in a unlady like manner and proceeds to finish her walk by herself. Caleb has always been more of a social person than she. Lilith doesn’t care to change this fact either.

Upon arriving home, Lilith finds her brother talking to a young female. There’s something Lilith instantly doesn’t like about the woman but she keeps her thoughts to herself. Instead, she plays the part she’s supposed to play. She welcomes Miss Helena DiMera to their home. It doesn’t escape her that Miss DiMera is single. Mr. and Mrs. Vatore have been seeking spouses for their children for some time.

Lilith is snapped out of her thoughts when she hears a neighborhood bat whizz by her ear. She swears the creatures are getting braver each night.

Back home she works on training Jackson. Not all of it is physical, she’s been explaining the rules he’s expected to follow if he wishes to remain existing.

She readies herself for bed, she feels tonight might be a night she finally needs sleep. Sometimes, Lilith just enjoys putting on something soft and laying in her bed. It reminds her of being human. She looks at the painting hanging above her bed. Caleb bought it for her in Milan years ago. That’s the only reason she keeps it, she tells herself. It reminds her of someone.

That thought takes her back into her past. To that fateful night.

Miss Dimera’s visit had been going well until that night. She had shown herself to be a well mannered lady. She had accompanied Caleb to a play in Willow Creek. She had even gone with Lilith and Mrs. Vatore to visit the boutiques in Newcrest. Everything was normal.

Until Lilith walked in and saw Helena DiMera sucking the blood out of her brother’s neck.

Lilith stopped in her tracks, frozen still. She opened her mouth to yell but nothing came out. She watched Caleb in the arms of Helena, he seemed in a trance almost. Lilith could hear and feel her own heartbeat pounding in her ears.

“Let him go!” Lilith finally screamed.

Helena froze and released Caleb, holding onto him somehow with one arm. “Hello, Lilith.” She greeted in a eerie tone. “I was not expecting anyone to return yet.”

Lilith didn’t respond, she just looked her brother who was standing only with Helena’s support. His eyes were closed, he looked clammy. His breathing was ragged. Lilith was starting to put everything together in her head. “You are a vampire.”

Helena looked at her surprised but smiled, Caleb’s blood around her lips. “Yes. I am quite surprised you realize this. I may have underestimated this family.”

“You are…turning him?” Lilith questions slowly. It had been a while since she had read her books on the supernatural. Books she had to purchase in private from the local book store clerk, Mr. Potter. Books that her parents would burn if they found them.

“I fancy your brother.” Helena admits, moving Caleb to place him into a chair. She bites her wrist, looking Lilith dead in the eye while she does it. She wouldn’t mind having a little taste of Lilith as well. Maybe later.

Lilith gasps softly but remains silent. She doubts she can stop Helena but even if she’s able to, Caleb would be gone forever. She selfishly doesn’t want that to happen. Her brother is the only one in the entire world that accepts Lilith for who she is. He doesn’t judge her for reading books she shouldn’t. He doesn’t tell her she can’t wear pants or ride horses. He doesn’t tell her she’s crazy for wanting to fall in love before getting married.

All that brought her to the Straud Mansion. Count Vladislaus Straud IV has lived in Forgotten Hollow longer than The Vatore family. She remembers passing by his massive home the first day they arrived in the town when she was only five. Most people avoid him in town, even though a statue of his ancestor is smack in the middle of their town park. Lilith had always found it odd how the statue looks exactly like him. Then she began studying him from afar. Seeing he only comes out at night. How pale his skin is. How he never seemed to change.

She showed up on his doorstep, tears streaking her cheeks but she held herself together. To her shock, he actually let her in.

“I am sure you have heard we have had a visitor.” Lilith starts softly. She didn’t want to just come out and say what she wants. What she needs.

“I am well aware of your visitor and who she is.” Vladislaus tells her, to her surprise. “I think I know why you are here.”

Lilith stares at him for a long moment, deep down it all clicked. “She turned my brother.”

In a odd move, odd to Lilith anyway, the Count places his hands on his hips and shakes his head slightly. “I have made few mistakes in my existence and Miss Hellena DiMera is one of them.”

Lilith blinks, not sure what to say.

“You want to become a vampire to be with your brother.” Vladislaus supplies for the young woman beside him.

“Correct. He has always been there for me. I do not want him to be alone nor do I wish to lose him forever.” She admits with a sigh. She briefly thinks of her parents, she doesn’t know how to handle them after this.

The Count debates within himself. He has sworn off turning anyone since Helena DiMera. Somehow, she had turned out more evil than even him. He hadn’t seen it coming. He looks at Lilith Vatore, who he can tell has good intentions. He knows she’s been watching him, that’s how she’s figured out what he is. “Very well.”

Valdislaus first explains certain things to Lilith before he offers his hand to her to stand up. She quickly takes it and he pulls her to him. Neither of them were prepared for the slight spark that shot through their bodies when they came close to each other.

The bite hurt until it didn’t. Lilith will never tell anyone that she started to enjoy it. Vladislaus let her go, intending to guide her to the couch.

Her knees buckled and he held her steady. Sweat was starting to drip down her brow as she felt the bite on her neck burn. “I will train you.” Vladislaus tells the young soon to be vampire in her arms.

Hopefully, he could get Caleb out of Miss DiMera’s clutches as well and train him. He would rather have them under his tutelage than anyone else’s. He didn’t need two newborns running around, causing havoc.

what you missed on 100 baby:

Bailey was born and pretty promptly hit all of her milestones - meaning she could go through her life much faster than a lot of her siblings will.

Bailey was an ADORABLE little toddler who loved water. Luckily, it was summer when she was a toddler so she got to play in the splash pads and toddler pool a lot. She also loved to give Willow makeovers.

Noah? Was an ADORABLE little guy. He also hit his milestones pretty fast, but nowhere near as fast as Bailey. I didn't know I'd be posting pictures of this at the time (I have chronic illness and I was flaring badly, so...)

Ulysses was an unassisted birth. Kyle couldn't make it, sadly.

Noah was a VERY cute toddler - pretty sure he was silly? He's always been a bit of a trip.

He also played with Ulysses so much when they both were small. Which is why it's so sad that they have a difficult family dynamic now.

More baby milestones!

I also took this picture of Christmas day festivities - Willow spent all day in the kitchen getting all of this ready. She invited over all of the living dads and her mother Cassie: (the only ones who have survived so far are Kyle Kyleson and Christopher Michaelson.)

Surprisingly? KYLE is one of the most involved dads so far! He calls Ulysses all of the time, he always would read him to sleep and play with him when he'd come over when he was a toddler.... He's just a loving dad, to be honest. Was not expecting that.

This (soon to be deceased) man is Jack and Jill's father. He was so thrilled! He accompanied Willow's birth - he died of anger right before the twins turned into infants. And then there's my obligatory Christmas Day picture. The presents under the tree is so sweet! There were only three kids to shop for then, instead of seven.

Bailey studied on her first day of high school like a nerd.

With the most recent pregnancy, Willow had gestational diabetes and so she really had to keep up with her health. Sometimes in her jammies.

As you can see, Ulysses has always been a bit of a.... pouty face. He aged up with evil as a child and he enjoys arguments. He also ended up with glasses through the adeepindigo eyecare system. He aged up into a toddler with a hearing aid and I've tried to keep that too. He's just an all around interesting guy.

Jack and Jill have been infants the longest out of any of my kids so far. Mostly because I had three other kids who I had to focus on too. It's hard not to love their faces. (Also, here is when I figured out reshade for real.)

Now, I'm out of images but we still aren't in the present! So I guess a part two is in order.

Oooo, fast paced is pretty subjective lemme think...

Imma got with the narrative sense of the word pacing (rather than just an in-your-face fast-moving plot, although that too,) so: good tension, craft, and narrative. Here's my pulls - I went broad and into the well, in case you had seen some recent stuff.

7. The Eighth Sense - who let Korea be this angsty? SO MUCH TENSION.

8. Unintentional Love Story - omg the plot, forced into a totally understandable betrayal, falling in love despite himself, put into a corner he can't get out of, the AGONY, the eyes EMOTING at us in PAIN

9. HIStory 3: Trapped - hot cop falls in love with hotter mafia boss he is chasing for MURDER (bonus weirdly domesticated switch-blade wielding hit-man obsessed with geeky police tech support - COME ON)

10. Long Time No See - assassins, cat fishing, either side of a turf war, HOT sex scenes then even hotter beating the shit out of each other and kissing while COVERED IN BLOOD (this came from KOREA?)

I turned on my computer and saw that I still had the sims 4 downloaded and recently updated and it made me remember the time I created Sephiroth, Lucrecia, Vincent and Hojo 💀

I remember Vincent and Lucrecia had a fight when she got pregnant and stayed in bad terms with each other since then. Hojo and Vincent already hated each other since their first meeting so Vincent stopped coming over their house.

And when Seph was a teenager Lucrecia invited Vincent over (I have no idea why maybe they made amends when I wasn't watching?) and Hojo found out and slapped Lucrecia (gasp) Sephiroth saw them and got into an argument with Hojo but then Hojo slapped Sephiroth too (gasp)

And I saw all that drama unfold like I was watching a soap opera, one of my best playthroughs without a doubt.

I completely skipped over the first paragraph and was desperately trying to remember where in the compilation did I miss all of this 💀 10/10 playthrough.

I deleted A LOT of my old posts so I had to DIG. First picture is from my first ever legacy the Schipano Legacy. I know I started posting on this blog in February 2014, but I believe this screenshot is from late 2013? I was lurking on simblr from my superwholock blog (no, not kidding) starting in 2013 but at the time I was really intimidated (lol I KNOW) because everyone had these poses and custom hairs and elaborate soap opera story lines. So I prepped for months to come up with the perfect legacy backstory LMAO. That toddler - Starr Schipano - was an orphan raised by her grandfather and ended up in a love triangle with the generic white boy next store and her adopted cousin??? It was 2013 okay idk.

Second picture is from my current Normal LEPacy gameplay this is (spoilers, I guess) Bunny Normal the generation 21 heiress of the legacy!!!

some bonus firsts under the cut since I have a lot

First berry sweet sims were the mango perfect genetics challenge which I believe I started posting in summer 2014? I even did my first bachelor challenge and only completed bachelor challenge with gen 2 of that legacy. This was the founder Margot Mango and her son ... Remy? apparently I was in a french phase lol

First time ever playing the sims 4 was when I started my pancakes legacy in October 2015 (literally 8 years ago HOW). But I still didn't like the sims 4 so that quickly led to me creating John Waffles, founder of the Waffles Lepacy in November 2015.

Lastly, generation 1 of the Normal Lepacy (when I was neck deep in my cut out phase) which was February 2021. The Normals are my both my chaos and my comfort save. Funny story the other day my partner saw me editing my new family tree the other day and asked me "wait, you're still playing with the family of the guy with the weird name who looked like John Oliver???" and then we went through every heir to see who he remembered (honestly a surprising amount lol)
