Okay I've finally caught up and finished episode 5 of Witcher season three 🥳 I don't have time to go wading through all the filtered posts right now BUT

They seriously missed a golden opportunity in episode 5 to just periodically cut away from the political intrigue and the fancy ball with the ~classy~ music and sparkly outfits, and give us little like three second clips at a time of Jaskier and Radovid back in their hut, enthusiastically and - most important - clumsily getting it on

Just imagine. An intensely meaningful conversation at the ball; Radovid tripping over a dusty chest on the floor as the makeout intensifies and nearly pulling Jaskier over with him with a yelp and thud. Intricate political maneuverings over flowing dance moves; topless Jaskier going oop shit as he accidentally tears Radovid's shirt open instead of just the lacings. Dramatic confrontations in Stregobor's chambers; Radovid dropping to his knees below frame and Jaskier's eyes rolling back in his head as it cuts away again in the middle of his oh, F-

It would have been incredible 😂😍

I had a much more elaborate post planned but oh god everything about Jaskier in Season 3 is so hysterical right now??

I've known that they were probably confirming his bisexuality for over a year - ever since the audition tapes for a "male royal who flirts with Jaskier" were leaked. The fact that it's a whole romance is excellent, but the theory that Jaskier's chemistry with Geralt (and Yennefer as well honestly) led the showrunners to make this change has me absolutely howling.

Oh, you want Jaskier to have a complicated relationship with a man who has long [blond] hair and he writes a sad love song about him? You want him to have an on-off relationship with a beautiful woman? We've got you! (⁠◠⁠‿⁠・⁠)⁠—⁠☆

I will always have a soft spot for Jaskier and Geralt especially. But as fun as it is to speculate in fanon, ultimately I knew it wasn't happening. I think the very best we can hope for in that direction is an acknowledgement of one-sided feelings, and to me, having Jaskier acknowledged as queer or bi - that he "doesn't see gender" - is way beyond my wildest dreams already.

I really want to know more about Radovid and Vespula! Will Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri ever find out that their bard has caught feelings?? Will Jaskier ever have to choose his family over his newfound love? They've drastically changed Radovid for the show - what implications will that have??

(Basically can it be June 29th already???)

Where do I start… the domestic fluff between Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri was so cute it hurts.

The whole dynamic between Yennefer and Geralt was also very sweet and more than once I was: “Why don’t they kiss already?”

Also Yenn and Ciri ice skating was the most adorable thing!

And then… MY BOY JASKIER!!! Oh my God! The whole Vespula affair was taken straight from the books and ai love it!!!

I fucking knew that it was Redanian Intelligence behind his Sandpiper affairs! And now how dares Philippa threaten him!!??

And also bait a Jaskier was funny! I screamed when that arrow hit him!
