The House That Jack Built

칸 영화제에서 100여 명이 영화 도중에 나갈 만큼 잔인한 영화라는 정보에도 당당하게 팔짱을 낀 채 보기 시작했지만 자꾸만 내 손이 두 눈을 가리려고 들었다. 잔인한 건 잘 보지만 이건 단순한 잔인함을 넘어섰다.

마지막 장면. 음악이 소름 끼치도록 기괴하다. 영화 보면서 먹은 버블티가 올라오는 느낌.. 음향감독님 최고..

보면서 영화 ‘샤이닝’이 생각났다. 제정신이 아닌 주인공들의 이름이 모두 ‘잭’(이제 ‘잭’이라는 이름은 사이코처럼 들린다.)이라는 것과 동시에 둘의 얼굴이 너무나도 닮았고 감독의 머릿속마저 닮은듯해 보였다.(두 감독의 얼굴마저 비슷..) 스탠리 큐브릭에 이어 좋아하는 감독이 하나 더 생겼다. 자꾸만 리뷰를 찾아 읽게 만드는 영화. 인간의 본성을 다룬 이야기는 언제나 흥미롭다.
