Sir Pentious and Vox Similarities
- Pathetic
- Inventors/Innovators of their respective technologies
- Simultaneously ahead of their times and yet still old school in some facets
- Rely on support (P - eggs and hotel, V - Voxtek staff, Vees)
- Do not do well in direct confrontation, rely on inventions and support
- Have a “base” to conduct ranged operations (P - aircraft thing, V - gamer screen room)
- Looked up to/admired someone, wanted to be their equal (P to Vees, V to Alastor)
- Got brutally rejected
- While Pentious’ support system paved the way for him to be a better person, Vox probably got worse, who knows
- Hypnotism powers
- Will change themselves to please or appeal to others to be accepted (P will spy to please Vees, then reform to please hotel peeps, V will present differently to please audiences, etc)
- Visual motifs (P is covered in eyes, V’s head is a literal visual medium and has eyes everywhere with his drones and cameras)
- Need(ed) to be seen as a nemesis to Alastor (P obvs past tense), pick fights they can’t win unprovoked (V was more of a verbal battle but still lost rip)
- similar drip
- top hats
- bow ties
- I’m sure I’ve missed some stuff
Is this anything

hot take but you all NEED to stop telling people to kill themselves.
yes, even *those* people. i don't care if you're talking to some monster who puts live puppies into a wood chipper for fun, don't say that shit.
because mx. puppychipper isn't gonna be affected by your words.
but you know who might be affected? some innocent third party reading the words you said on a public website.
because telling people to kill themselves says "suicide is a punishment for being a bad person. bad people, upon realizing they're bad, should simply commit suicide instead of working to atone for their actions."
and that is NOT a message you wanna be normalizing to anyone, but ESPECIALLY people with depression (who, let's be real, make up a higher than average chunk of this site's userbase). whose mental illness is already telling them that 1: they're an inherently terrible worthless person no matter what they do 2: death is an appealing option.
is reading "kill yourself" once or twice gonna make them do it? nah, probably not. but reading it multiple times a day every day is gonna make their mental health worse. it's probably not good for your mental health to be saying that kind of thing, either.
just knock that shit off. the world is already so hostile to people with mental illness, and managing mental illness and unlearning unhealthy thought patterns is already so difficult. you don't need to be out here making it worse.

In the same vein as my Dog Thoughts post about performance foundations last night, the more I watch Sports People, the more motivated I am to distance myself from them and be done with dog sports completely.

wanna talk about your OCs I would love to hear about your OCs who are they 👀
Oh dear. Sorry I forgot I hadn’t posted this it was in my drafts lol Doing my historical OCs because, well. I wanna and I feel like if I delved into any of my fantasy/sci-fi ones we’d be here ages
Fred Norefleet.
Of all the naval and broadly maritime ocs I have conjured over the years, he’s the most pathetic. By god is he trying his best, but he has continuously come up short in everything he’s done. He tries so hard and his life until recently was just other folk deciding what he was gonna be for him. He’s silent unless spoken to, tends to miss the forest for the trees, stares at you really intently when you’re talking, wishes more than anything to disappear into the background and his first words were probably “I’m sorry.”
That being said, he’s deeply loyal and supports his sisters and uncle financially with his wages. He’s a prime navigator and very detail-oriented, a team player and quite sneaky when need be and might actually make a lieutenant if he didn’t have a spine made from celery. He’s also quite sensitive about his lack of any formal education, receiving the good chunk of it when he became a midshipman. Quite protective, especially after the wreck as a kid. Became a bit of a chronic helper and control freak after that. Absolutely shit at fighting but an excellent sailor. Once dug shot out of his own hip, made it into a coin and carved a ship on it to give to his Friend. He’s that kind of person. He’s trans.
Morwenna Norefleet.
If Fred’s first words were “I’m sorry” then Morrie’s were “WASSON MATE.” The older of the twins by a minute, she and Fred were stuck together like glue until he went away to sea. She taught herself to read by studying the Bible and writes regularly to her brother. As both of them swapped names and gender, they’re quite close. She wants to open her own public house and inn or at least buy one (all the papers in Fred’s name of course). She’s a total flirt, especially with the out of town tinners and any “foreign” sailors (upcountry), even though she’s never settled down what with the whole trans thing. Morwenna embroiders very intricate flowers and landscapes. She once tried to do a ship for her uncle and it was less of a ship than it was a box with sticks. When Fred wouldn’t speak after his shipwreck and time spent stranded when they were 11, she felt really hurt. Especially when he went away to sea the same year, she was really lonely and would often sit in the St Juliot’s graveyard and cry privately. Nowadays she’s alright! Constantly worrying about her brother but also, she’s looking after her other sisters and their children and her uncle and working in an inn and working in the pilchard cellar. Her hevva cakes are amazing. She’s the strongest person in this family, has a deeply rooted sense of self and has boundless self confidence without ever being arrogant. Community and family are what’s important to her most of all, she teaches what she knows of Cornish to her little family members and teaches them to write and read and once hit one unruly patron so hard he woke up crying.
Callum Tredwen.
A mess. Is actively being hunted down by his own brother, is an ex-navy lieutenant, a mutineer and now smuggler. He’s on a suicide mission. He’s a lesbian and has an extremely doomed and unspoken relationship with his first mate. He’s probably committed multiple war crimes, he took a 21-year old doctor hostage and kidnapped him. He ought to be dead but he just won’t die. He’s a dick. An asshole. He’s all the confidence of Morwenna but without any compassion for others (lies, he does, he just rarely acts on it), the anxieties of Fred without any of the perspective. He hits first to avoid ever being hit himself. He refuses to let himself be loved or taken care of. He’s gotten his dearest friends killed and his own self maimed. This man wants blood and he’s going to get it, whether it’s his own or someone else’s. It’s been years and his gender is still “eeeeh.” The 2nd messiest fucker.

Honestly though, I dunno if I mentioned it before but ships in the context of Sewerhell and multiple versions of each animatronic is really interesting. Like, they go to Sewerhell and they're wandering around, missing their partner and they find their predecessor cuddled up with someone else.
Freddy and Bonnie, forever and ever? Okay but what if Bonnie goes down there and finds an older Bonnie cuddling Monty? Or Chica? Or Moon? What if he talks to a predecessor of his and finds out they were dating fucking Roxy or something and Bonnie just has to sit there and somehow not make jokes about their terrible fucking taste... While the predecessor in question is trying not to do the same fucking thing.
Extra funny if I dunno a Chica goes down there and she fucking hates Monty. The absolute disappointment she has in her previous version because she can see her deactivated in a kiss with a previous Monty.
I dunno I just find that kinda funny? Imagine two Chica's talking and assuming they've both been dating the same people, only to find out they both ended up with someone completely different lmao. They try and imagine what it's like to have been with the other Chica's love interest and both of them go 'BLEGH' jsjdjd
This isn't my focus for anything really, but it's still fun to think about. Can be really dramatic if say, a Freddy had one partner get scrapped and eventually moved on to partner up with someone else. Like oof bet that kinda stings. But anyway, it can be pretty funny to think about ngl

the other MMOs I've played have some pretty wild rotations but nothing has ever quite come close to the utter mayhem that was/is mag!NB in ESO
#saint.txt#bc that spec is DoT central and only some of them are on similar timers (and this is an MMO with no CDs on abilities)#keep both of your AoEs rolling constantly but also DO NOT overlap casts or we'll kill you bc that's a waste of mana.#they are both on similar but different timers and typically on your backbar.#(not overlapping casts bc it wastes resources to refresh too early goes for literally all of your abilities btw)#also you have three different buffs (all are also on differing timers) that need to also have 100% uptime. the bow one especially we'll tal#abt that in a minute. your other fill-ins (your spammables) are also all either single-target DoTs (debilitate) or summon shade and#guess what these also have timers. all of these timers are different even slightly so drift is common and it becomes more a game of#'oh god all the timer alerts are going off all at once deal with it' game than a typical MMO rotation.#that's not even talking abt the NB bow skill which is core to the class and requires you more than any other class to know and be good#at weaving bc for both the bow (which requires 5 LAs to use) and your own sustain bc of a self-buff you have to keep rolling#you HAVE to be constantly light attacking for your DPS AND your own sustain you literally do not have a choice#so you also have to manage not overcapping bow casts while also having to flip bars constantly to refresh your timers while weaving#bc in my case bow is on front bar and if you overcap bow charges bc you're on the back bar refreshing wall of elements#we will personally kill your ass. ESO combat was so fun no other MMO has come close to that flavour for me#ESO weaving literally broke my old mouse not even ff//xiv or g/w/2 axe mirage has done that

the fact that infinity train book 4 is largely considered to be the "worst" season by much of the fandom, and yet is the season with the most fanfiction by a pretty large margin (primarily because it has the most shippable pair of main characters) feels like a strangely apt summary of fan culture as a whole

this is probably a strange thing to wonder lol but i wonder if jakurai has alive parents 🤔
#this is vee speaking#like dohifu’s parents are presumably okay besides whatever honobono did to hifumi’s#and it’s probably because they’re older we don’t hear of their parents but like it was a source of drama for otome our eldest character#so jakurai’s parents can be a thing lol#(i’m acting like parental figures aren’t a driving force for a very large chunk of these characters lol)#see tho back when mtr was the primary brain rot i hc that jakurai was also an orphan lol#the backstory i gave that man before it was defined lmao#i thought he was a product of a child assassin program the government ran using orphans esp from the war#like jakurai’s generation grew up with war and jakurai in particular was bred on it#and i used it to reason why jakurai has such a bleeding heart for children he didn’t want the kids to grow up like he did#canon has now said otherwise thankfully lmao but like he could still be an orphan lol#uhhhh it’s not like you need a deep backstory to want to heal but that saviour complex of his has been around for a very long while#he was in college already to be a doctor before the war started so presumably he’s always wanted to be a doctor right???#did the looming war influence him???? or did he have a similar familial reason like hitoya’s to be a doctor????#like he lost his parents to disease and he was helpless to help#(because he was a child lol but kids blaming themselves for stuff they have no control over is a thing in hypmic lol)#but yeah here’s some jakurai flavoured thought for today rare form on this blog nowadays lol#c: sensei

I absolutely love seeing witch hunting facts on my dash because I too am obsessed with witch trial history in England and The Colonies, so now I’m curious as to if you know any funky things about male witches? It’s a history I’ve always been particularly fascinated with. I’d say one of my favourite stories is always going to be whatever the hell John Godfrey had going on. I don’t think he was ever actually found guilty either?
There is actually an entire book about male witches that I still haven't finished but from the amount of research I've done so far, while being less common than female witches they weren't exactly disputed against. I mean, the man himself Matthew was also accused of witchcraft, people were definitely not just saved from it just on the basis of gender. It is however still very true that witchcraft was a feminine thing, but most of that bias came from the fact that it was seen as submission to the devil, and of course, submitting to anything was not exactly something attributed to men at the time.
To put in two very specific quotes from said book, "A man accused of being a witch was also, therefore, implicitly feminised. In one sense, this feminisation lends support to Stuart Clark’s argument for a binary structure underlying the gendering of witchcraft; on the other hand, it cautions us against allowing that binary structure to become too rigid to accommodate flexible gender constructions", and "heresy itself was not sex-linked".
I can absolutely see how people wouldn't immediately think of male witches as something that actually existed because a lot of original sources like the Maleficarum and Hopikin's own guide only speak of female witches, I feel like that's more because it was (and still is) the stereotype.
(it's also kind of related to homophobia: according to a few sources the reason why we know there were male witches was because of people's warnings against falling into a sodomy-spell, but now that I think about it that might not be american-english witchcraft but south italian witchcraft. They're fairly different)
